Sagna admits he's unhappy, Henry wants return & Pat finally get's honoured…..

Morning all,

So the old boy wants another return to the club he holds dear in his heart, the club he supported when he played for us and has done ever since. He doesn’t even care in what capacity he returns. So long as he gets back involved,

All I know is that I will be involved in the game for sure and hopefully be involved with Arsenal because that is the heart talking there, that’s the team that I support. Forget about me as a player, that’s the team I support.

‘In any type or shape, if I can go back to the club I would love to do it, but it’s not up to me. That would be a desire, more a desire than something that can be officialised, I still have two years playing here and then I will see.

But I would definitely love to be back with Arsenal.

As the media, pundits and some of us fans think Arsene Wenger’s best days are long gone and we need fresh blood at the top but Henry feels a little hurt by all this talk:

When you don’t win people are always going to question your work, your legacy and what you did before. It is sad somehow but that is the way the game is. What are you going to do?

For me, it is difficult to hear, difficult to see, but for me the boss will always be Arsene – always great for me and I know what he has done for the club.

That’s all well and good isn’t it, in fact it’s easy for him to talk about Wenger in such a away, when he was with us Wenger signed really good players to play alongside him. He won things during his career with us, of course his time with our club under Wenger was good.

Back in his day, Wenger was good, very very good!

Another man who was involved heavily in those days of glory is Pat Rice and yesterday he finally received  his MBE from fellow Gooner, HRH Queen Elizabeth II. What  a proud moment for a man who has given so much too football, and so much to Arsenal.

A true Arsenal man and his award, utterly deserved.

Cheers Ma'am
Cheers Ma’am

Finally, Bacary Sagna has held his up and admitted he’s not been playing well and he’s unhappy with his own performances of late:

“I’ve not been at my best, I am going to be honest — I am not very happy with myself.

“But this is football. This is a part where I need to get better and work more on my form. It has been a long time I’ve been working — since last summer, I didn’t really have a pre-season.

“I need to breathe a bit but, at a high level, you don’t have time to breathe because you have a game every few days and you have to keep going. I am looking forward to coming back to my best.”

He’s even suggested his mind is elsewhere when he’s off form:

You don’t focus 100 per cent on the pitch — you miss something to push forward.

You need somebody else to defend even better. When you are not at your best at this level, you feel it straight away on the pitch.

You need a bit of everything to turn it around. When you don’t perform as you used to, when you have been injured for so long, you need your confidence back and I was a bit low recently.

I am just looking forward. I am a professional so I know it can happen but not for too long because everyone is waiting for me to perform well and I am looking forward to do it.

All Arsenal fans will are looking forward to Sagna’s form returning as when he’s at his best, Sagna is one of the best right back’s in the game.

Mind you, if Saturdays performance was anything to go by, he’s certainly on his way back…

That’s it for another day, have a good one….

Morning Rico and all. Peter Hill Wood says that he is on his way back and that fans won’t have long to wait for his next patronising, crass and insensitive statement.

  2. W.A.T.H says:

Morning All, Happy Valentines to ALL the ladies in the House…!

That’s a lot of ladies in your House Adam 😉

Also would of been The Bear’s 52nd Birthday today… RIP big man…! Never forgotten…!

  3. potter says:

Morning all, that boy Varane I think looked o.k. to me , If Arsene really wanted him I wonder why he didn’t come ? Prevarication maybe , I see that City have now targetted two players that we have sent scouts to watch . By being indecisive we certainly allow others to get to them.

  4. W.A.T.H says:

In this day and age Potter we can’t watch people to many times without it hitting the headlines so we need to watch a player make a decision and get the job done, we procrastinate and lose out more often than not.

  5. devilgunner says:

Good Morning my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.

Happy Valentine’s day Rico and Agag.

    Happy Valentine’s day W.A.T.H……….I love you. 😆

    Good summary Rico.

Henry to return??? For me I would prefer someone who is totally stranger to the present set up. Someone who would come with his ideas. Like AW himself when he came. He changed the club from top to bottom (and for the better) but I feel that now we should get someone new who has never been at the club. He would give the club a new direction and mission.

With the youths and assistant coach then yes, we should not look outside. Players like Vieira, Bergkamp etc would be good. But we need a new leader at the helm when AW goes.

  6. Wavy says:

Ah, but are the scouts who are sent to a match to watch……..are they researching the targets attributed to them by the press? Or is it all just make believe.
I mean who thinks Wanyama has anything much to contribute to the Arsenal midfield? Etc. it could all be a double bluff! Send a scout get them to suggest they are looking at a particular player to act as a false steer for another hungry club, get them to waste their money on an inferior player.
    Very MI5!

  7. W.A.T.H says:

I can feel the love Dev… thanx mate…………..

    Thought you’d appreciate that one Adam….. 😀

Wavy I think your right as well, double bluff make others think we’re interested in A,B,C and they pay over the odds and we try buy Z for a fiver…!

  8. devilgunner says:

Obviously I will save the best one for Rico m’Lads. She deserves it.

Adam save the tissues. Use your sleeve.

PHW is there like a laughing stock now. He aint worth a penny. Usmanov is only 21 shares away from going over 30%

  9. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, nice one Rico.
    Valentines day phewie.
Sagnas not happy with his form, Pull your finger out mate. Henry wants a return, we don’t need anymore deadwood. And well done Pat Rice, first thing you won for ages.

  10. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers Dev, I will get some silicon if you need to seal a crack Dev 😉

I think those that didn’t know him Adam certainly knew of him……!

  11. Adam says:

Hi SYG. Hope you had a great time. I thought about you the other week when I was watching The Great Escape. How did they manage to come up short of the woods with that tunnel?

  12. southyorkshiregunner says:

Hiya Adam. It was nice.. Expensive .. but nice …. 27th anniversary…
Short on the tunnel lol…. Obviously their engineer needed sacking….

  13. southyorkshiregunner says:

hiya WATH … you must be joking …..? standard coffee, shite service ..
…Did a curry over there just around the corner ….. The worst curry houses are definitely in Paris …..

  14. W.A.T.H says:

Paris def ain’t cheap mate and i am not impressed with it never have been…! Like most big cities I suppose just one big rip off…!

  15. rico says:

Just been reading the updates on the Pistorius story, police have been there many time before for domestic incidents….

    He faces a murder charge….

Hasn’t got a leg to stand on if you ask me…..

  16. Wavy says:

His explanation of events was no more than a series of limp excuses.

    Enough.

Actually I hope it was a terrible accident. It’s far more shocking when a crime is committed by someone you quite admire, if only for their determination to overcome their disabilities.

  17. DutchGooner10 says:

Afternoon Rico. Only 21 shares to go and Usmanov gets to launch a bid. Here’s hoping it happens before the end of this campaign.

  18. devilgunner says:

I posted that before you DG mate. I hope it happens in summer though not during season since he may be accused of disrupting the team.

    Afternoon everyone.

  19. DutchGooner10 says:

I noticed Coach, thought to reintroduce it to losen up some lip service, been quite here today.

I know disruption is a possible consequence of a early bid. But I want changes done before the off period begins. So personel change is implemented in time for some serious exodus and rebuilding the team from day one of the transfer window.

  20. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico / Devil

Consider the ownership audit before installment can be officiated. Don’t want it to last all summer only for Wenger to be left with 5 minutes before 12. Lots of loanees to be wheelbarrowed out of Colney. Tied hands would be a disaster if we are serious about the EPL title bid next year.

Only competition we are realistically involved is the FA cup. Fourth/third place trophy is still an open race, if we slip up then I would love Usmanov to be aggressive before the season ends.

  21. rico says:

    Afternoon Agag and Adam…

Last day of season would do Dg…

Staggering to think that Piers Morgan owns more shares than any board member other than SK, because not one of them has any shares….

  22. agirlagunner says:

No wonder they give off the impression that they are no invested in the club, rico… They aren’t! 😕

    Hi, Dutch, Dev, Adam. 🙂

  23. rico says:

They should all push off and get some new blood in agag…

Merts is right too Syg, we really need to beat B’burn, keep the confidence high. Batter Villa at home and then off to the neighbours for at least a point…..

  24. DutchGooner10 says:

I don’t understand these abusers, why stay in a embroiled relationship if you steering towards such an epic tragedy. Tearing lifes apart, destroying reputations. At some point you indefinitely pass mea culpa and even mea maxima culpa.

  25. southyorkshiregunner says:

    You have a point Rico
Last time we played them was 28th February 2007
5th Round FA Cup – replay
Wenger pissed about with the starting 11 and chucked out a weakened team …. we brought Walcott on for Eboue and shifted Senderos to right back who got skinned by McCarthy for the goal 3 mins from time …..

    Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Arsenal
    Att: 18,882
    McCarthy 87

    Manuel Almunia
    Emmanuel Eboue
    William Gallas
    Philippe Senderos
    Armand Traore

    Aleksandr Hleb
    Gilberto Silva
    Denilson
    Freddie Ljungberg

    Jeremie Aliadiere
    Julio Baptista

    Substitutions:
Theo Walcott for Emmanuel Eboue 61
Gael Clichy for Armand Traore 66

  26. agirlagunner says:

I’d be horrified if we fail to beat Blackburn. It’s not that they are awful, but if we are to have a chance at salvaging something from what has so far been a very very disappointing season, our players had darned well better play well!

    Pistorius 😯

Dutch, it’s called “harana” where I’m from. 😉

Hiya, SYG. Adam, are you sure you want to sell to Mr. Wig?

  27. Adam says:

Agag. I saw a story that a huge crocodile dies in the Philippines and everybody is upset about it. Do you know the croc I mean?

  28. agirlagunner says:

When I was a more socially conscious citizen, I worked with abused women and children. You hear about the most horrible things. Takes its toll. I could never do it again. 😕

  29. rico says:

Neither do I Dg, just open the door and be free….

He might take this fixture seriously as it’s the only real chance of a cup we have. But we have a few injured Syg…

    I fear seeing Squlli start……

    Good point DG….

Sometimes when you are in a toxic relationship – the LOGIC goes out of the window ….

Recently the guy from Florida who killed his kids and himself as his missus was divorcing him ….. or the guy from Leeds the other Christmas who killed his wife and two kids as she was in the process of leaving him …..

Look follow the manslaughter trial of the pair of social skanks from Derby that’s being updated on SkyNews now …. Total madness …

It happens all the time ….. A village near me …. A massive tragedy in the 1980’s but it had very little coverage …

Man + wife + kids in big house in nice country village of Pollington

    Man has affair
    Wife finds out
    Wife goes to leave
Man gets out 12 gauge shotgun
    Wife alerts neighbours
    Man shoots wife
Neighbours helpless at door listening to screams as Man chases kids around house and shoots them
    Man turns gun on himself
    = Massive tragedy

  31. agirlagunner says:

Adam, my mom actually called me to talk about that croc. 🙁 It is sad, did you see the pen they put him in?? Classic case of government ineptitude.

  32. agirlagunner says:

Not, Squilli, rico. Please!! Never again.

Makes you carry all those parcels, does she, Adam? I really do like Mrs Adam. 😀 😀

  33. DutchGooner10 says:

    Agag 😉

    Puno ang langit ng bituin
at kay lamig pa ng hangin
    sa’yong tingin akoy nababaliw giliw
    at sa awitin kong ito
    sana’y maibigan mo
ibubuhos ko ang buong puso ko
sa isang munting harana para sayo

    Hindi ba’t parang isang sine
    isang pelikulang romantiko
hindi ba’t ikaw ang bidang artista at ako ay iyong leading-man
sa istoryang nagwawakas sa pagibig na wagas

  34. Adam says:

Agag. All I saw was a pic of him either asleep or brown bread. He looked a fair old size. Big enough for several dozen handbags and lots of shoes. Poor old fella.

  35. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Hiya agag ..

Never try to let stuff like that get under your skin… if you dwell on stuff it can make you very bitter and upset ….. I could write a book on personal experiences alone ,.
…What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger

…… just open the door and be free….

Sometimes a woman doesn’t get that option, Rico……

Sometimes a man doesn’t too ….. You should cop my brother’s missus …… A right big, horrible, brutal, blackmailing bastard ….

  37. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Hiya Adam … she’s horrible ….
She clung to him like a disease when she was 16 years old and has constantly gnawed away at him ever since… it’s pitiful to see … He can’t go for a shit without her permission …

  38. DutchGooner10 says:

    SYG

There have been plenty of those on the mainland. One has to wonder such news sparks a knock on effect. At least once a month there’s a family massacre.

  39. agirlagunner says:

Hahaha, Dutch. Good one! I haven’t heard that in aaaages. 🙂 🙂

SYG, someone was always crying. Some days, I was. 😕 😉

Adam, knowing what I know of this government, I just bet they’d try to turn Old Croc into handbags and shoes and wallets.

  40. Adam says:

Off out for a bite with the ruthlessly brutal Mrs Adam. See you all later. Take care Agag. Lovely to chat as always. 🙂

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

    Adam

Short synopses: couple break up, ex-husband goes to visit her parents, butchers them and leaves her alive to cope with the horror discovery and mourning. Wait with shock delivery…………… Then kills himself the day he has to appear before a judge. So case is closed without an official suspect or sentence.

  42. devilgunner says:

I am watching the dippers at the moment. I find it incomprehensible how we have managed to drop two points against such a sterile team. Pass, pass long hoof up, defend, pass, pass, long hoof up, defend.

  43. rico says:

Quick reboot seems to have done the trick. And no I don’t mean literally..

Have a lovely evening Adam… Be nice 😉

  44. DutchGooner10 says:

Ajax’ Eriksson refuses to sign contract extension. His agent had freshly installed technical director Marc Overmars informed his client wants to hear offers for pastures new. Eriksson is still at the tender age of 21 but comes with bags of experience at top level football.

Great addition to our squad depth, although I trust Eisfeld to push for that spot as well.

  45. DutchGooner10 says:

    Devil

Not that I’m bothered but I believe Gerard has actually frozen up their inventive play. His king pin status makes distribution highly predictable. If he isn’t available midfield is being ignored.

Btw Suarez is a Bayern summer target, they’re looking to off load Luca Tony to make the striker position vacant.

  46. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico

With Bergkamp and Overmars close enough for a whisper I believe we already build a strong case for his next destination. Best thing; he doesn’t have to vow love for new colours.

  47. Bradster says:

Hi all, I read Campbell wouldn’t mind a permanent move to Spain.
Good stuff Wenger, waste the special talent visa on a player he planned not to use this season anyway. Then to top it off if Myacchi isn’t injured he isn’t picked to play.
I guess Wenger thought Pod and Giroud would be enough.

  48. rico says:

I never wanted us to sign him Brad, not after he failed to show for his medical.

I see Ryo leaving real soon…..

  49. DutchGooner10 says:

Wanyama attracting Shitty interest? Or has our scouting once again tied a loud bell to this cat?

Finally, the Daily Mail claims that Manchester City will embark on a “£60 million-plus overhaul of their squad” in the summer with Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Celtic’s Victor Wanyama top of the Sky Blues’ shopping list.

Manager Roberto Mancini and football director Txiki Begiristain have been in initial talks to freshen up the squad, and the Mail says Cavani is likely to replace Carlos Tevez, who is expected to return to Argentina at the end of the season. There have been rumours in recent days linking Wanyama to Arsenal but City are expected to outbid their Premier League rivals for the 21-year-old and bring him to the Etihad in a £10m deal.

  50. DutchGooner10 says:

Ryo should’ve been loaned back to Feyenoord. He developed well there and grew confidence in abundance as crowd Benjamin. Introduced to premier league requirements too quick and too soon.

  51. Bradster says:

Didn’t want Myacchi or Campbell Rico? I felt we needed a striker with RVP leaving but needed a top class one not a promising youngster.

  52. rico says:

Campbell Brad. He just failed to turn up for a medical as he heard other clubs were sniffing around. Not sure I’d have given him a second chance….
