Sack Him! Back In For Real Star? Rosicky Ruled The Day….

Morning all.

Prior to yesterdays game, one or two players from the Brighton camp, hoped Arsene Wenger would field a strong side. They wanted to be really tested and as well, they wanted their fans to see the best on show. And to a degree, that’s what they got, certainly by the end.

But with that strong team comes clever football and that was on show in abundance through the skills of Tomas Rosicky who was outstanding from start to finish. He’s never been a stranger when playing the disguised pass, neither is Alexis.

MOTD later in the day was a chance for many football fans who weren’t lucky enough to watch live at the South Coast or on BT Sport, to catch a few highlights of our 3-2 victory.

Instead of listening to someone sensible, we got Phil Neville! You remember the footballer don’t you? Reyes certainly would and it seems the BBC pundit who was once a footballing thug hasn’t changed. He didn’t like the tricks and skills displayed by our Czech midfielder:

If that was a training session and somebody did that I’d be first over there and I’d probably look to two-foot him or take him out of the game.

If somebody did that in training to me, winding me up, I would be straight in there. I’d smash them.

Then to go on and hide behind twitter, suggesting it was all a bit of a joke just stinks! There’s no place for comments like his and the BBC should show him the exit door asap.

Back to the game.

We couldn’t have got off to a better start. A lovely ball into the area from Chambers, good ball control by Walcott followed by a super shot. That’s what he can do when he doesn’t have too much time to think and hopefully that will have instilled a bit more confidence into his game having been out for so long.

Our second came through Mesut Ozil. Tomas Rosicky set him up from the left by playing a super pass through for our little German to fire home.

Brighton got one back and that gave them a bit of hope. The home fans voices were suddenly heard again but it wasn’t long before Tomas himself silenced them. Having won the ball back just outside the Brighton penalty area, he played a one-two with Aaron Ramsey and then volleyed the ball into the back of the net from just outside the box. Superb!

Brighton did get another which raised the home crowd again but an equaliser never came.. We could have scored many more too but their keeper was on good form.

It wasn’t the best game from our point of view as we conceded two sloppy goals but it was a good cup tie for the neutral and that’s what the FA Cup is all about.

Got to stay in it to win in, and we are! The draw takes place tonight so fingers crossed for a home tie….

Finally, Gabriel Paulista should be confirmed very soon said Arsene yesterday:

It’s on the line and I think we’ll get over the line tonight and tomorrow.

Let’s hope the work permit isn’t a problem….

The Daily Star report we are thinking about a move for Benzema…. Yeah right!

Have a good day folks….

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners.

Two people showed their true colours today. Tomas Rosicky was a credit to himself and his team and gave fans everywhere some great football to watch. While Phil Neville confirmed, for all to see and hear, what an odious thug we Gooners have always known him to be. As such and as Rico has already pointed out, the BBC should give him the boot out the door.

  2. scottfromoz says:

    Agreed, Rico.
The thing is anyone with half a brain knows it, so would laugh it off but it’s such a stupid thing to say.
On that not I’m off guys.
    Have a great day.

  3. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – A lot of people are incapable of laughing at themselves and if you can’t do that when the situation applies/requires it, then you have no sense of humour. Their loss not ours.

  4. allezkev says:

If Phil Nevile had had spent a little more time working on his technique in training, instead of indulging in two-footed fouls, then maybe he wouldn’t have made that ghastly mistake that led to England getting knocked out of the Euros a few years back vs Romania if I recall?

  5. allezkev says:

    Afternoon All…

    Afternoon Rico, nice post…

Adam is harsh, but fair, in a Roy Keane kinda way…

    But a cynic?
    Never…

  6. bradster says:

    Hi HH’ers,

I missed the game yesterday, was stuck in a thunderstorm on the furthest part of the golf course.
Rosicky looked great from the highlights bar his poor clearance for their goal.

Anyone see that guy who bet 10 quid that the big teams will lose? Liverpool would’ve won him a million pounds if they lost.
Was gonna write bucks instead of pounds but I don’t think you guys would know what I meant.

  7. escapecontrol says:

I certainly believe I’ve been witness to the magic that used to be Ronaldinho having passed the ball without looking at players as well… and yet there has to be some awful ex-player commenting on an amazingly talented player showing skills on the field. What a joke he is! And to think how long Thomas was out a couple years back?!!

Phil can 2-foot a cement wall in his yard!!

  8. rico says:

Ec – I struggle to accept Tomas is 34 years old, what a great shame he struggled with his injury as he’d have been a true Arsenal great….

Treat him gently and he could carry on for a good few years yet…..

  9. escapecontrol says:

Exactly Rico!! I would put money on it that he WISHED he was still on the field.

Phil, jealousy makes you nasty and a d*ck!! Whatever respect I had for that chop… has now gone.

  10. rico says:

    Villareal:

    17 games unbeaten.
10 clean sheets since Nov 2014
10 goals conceded since Nov 2014
Second most clean sheets in La Liga – level with Real

Their loss looks like it really could be our gain…

  11. Canadian Gooner says:

EC – I, and many others here, would be cheering for the cement for the win. However, the cement Phil has to worry about is the block between his ears.

  12. Marinello says:

Neville started off at the beginning of his “Pundit’ career quite well. But old habits die hard and he cannot, in the heat of a tv studio, refrain from having a pop either at Arsenal, Wenger or the skill that our players posess. The same skill that players at his his former Manc club posess….
Anyone with only half a brain recognises skill, guise and quick thinking in a game played at a fairly high tempo. Mr Neville is just another sad old Twonk….

  13. Wavy says:

I think ‘twonk’ is a bit harsh! Twat would befit him more, imo!

As concrete was mentioned the only concrete that should be offered to Pratt Neville are a pair of concrete boots fitted to him within throwing distance of a fast moving river! Not that I wish him any harm!

  14. Marinello says:

Ha ha Wavy. Always remember, Phil was somebody’s baby, and what a Father he has……

    Only joking….

  15. bradster says:

I just caught sight of a competition where if you guess 13 games correct result you win 30 million bucks. Which is around 1.5 million pounds in your terms. Better odds than the lotto

  16. BT62 Gooner says:

Rico, the Ramsey 1-2 didn’t come off, Tomas won the ball back, drove to the edge of the area, led the ball off to G Rod to his left, who then chipped the ball back to Tomas and the rest, is history..

Your we’re ill yesterday Rico…Hope your in full recovery mode…

As for the eyesight, you and me both….lol

    Sorry afternoon all…

  17. BT62 Gooner says:

Good news, just imagine the uproar if that had been a fcuked up…

Rico, not as bad as it sounds, kill you or cure you…lol

  18. allezkev says:

As long as Wenger can manage Tomas Rosicky, keeping him fit and ticking over, he can give us 20/25 quality games a season, save his legs and give us two more good seasons after this one…

He might be 34, but he is a highly intelligent footballer who allows Wenger to rest players without seeing the level of the team drop…

Replacing him with a younger version could cost £30m, with no certainty that he could do as good a job…

As long as Wenger can fit him into the 25 man squad I see no benefit in getting shot of him…

  19. Wavy says:

Tomas has the body of a 23 year old because he has been injured for soooooooo long! He could give us another 10 years!
I hope he does. He’s a proper Arsenal player, fair, fierce and fabulous!

  20. Rick says:

Afternoon Rico and the House. You are spot on Rico sack him.
There are 4 photos on twitter showing tackle’s he made on gooners.
One on DB10 was a leg breaker but he was only joking.
If I was J/W I would be thinking with Santi ,Tomas and Coq in their presant
form where the hell do I fit in . Bench warmer Jack.
Akpom v Sanago only one winner Chuba by a street.
It looks like Ajayi is doing the rounds ,he is playing for Ipswich U21 ‘s today
Bielik has been added to the U19 squad for the uefa champions league.

  21. rico says:

    Afternoon Rick, he’s a horrid bloke eh….

Sure hope Jack doesn’t walk straight back into the side, hope Ches and Flamini go back to the bench against Villa too and Monreal back to left-back..

  22. Joe says:

I wonder what types of grim nasties Taylor will have for us on Sunday I still have nightmares of his last performance during an Arsenal V Villa game.

  23. Joe says:

Home draw that will do, maybe i am mad but I’d like to get home draws against Manu or liverpool get them out of the cup early. 🙂

  24. potter says:

As a club we have to stop this chain of developing players for other peoples benefit. It’s too easy to just always say they can’t get past the superstars that we have bought in .

  25. rogerbij says:

Welcome to Arsenal Gabriel Paulista!!! (which name will we be calling him by?).

His whoscored.com rating is reasonable enough ~7. I just hope he is better than his youtube videos suggest. I was expecting classic tackles, perceptive interceptions, confident passing… not much to see there. He is a reasonable height but he’s pretty light weight, so I hope he hits the gym! Apparently his speed is good which will be important when playing beside Merts. Maybe Im just uneasy since the last Brazilian defender Arsenal bought.

  26. Wath says:

Lets hope those stories/rumours on Grosskreutz are correct, think he’d be a really good buy for us…! Sorry Ts…. lol

    Oh and morning you lot…!

  27. tsgh says:

Hey Wath… He is an Arsenal fan so I would allow this for once since the last BVB player to wear the red and white of North London is becoming a legend.. at least to me. 🙂

All jokes aside he is the type of player we need going forward; a work horse which tactical awareness and discipline. I still think he is like Milner as Parlour couln’t play RB/LB… lol

We have talked about Asier for a while now and if Carlo will allow he is keen to come down although he is not Rico’s type of DM 😛

  28. tsgh says:

Tbh with you I am not sold on Paulista but I love the fact that AW s trying to buy the right type of players. Players who are workers and not passengers.

Goes to show someone on the ’roundtable’ reads HH and takes note.. 😉

  29. Wath says:

Yep heard he is an Arsenal fan Ts, I think you do him a disservice saying he like Milner, he better than him lol and yes def the kind of player we want and need and he’s not another midget…!

Oh the little Mozart is a top top player always has been just a shame the injuries struck him down in his prime but when he can play once a week he seems fit as a fiddle, I doubt he’ll be able to cope with the midweek games thrown in as well though so if he’s used properly he is a huge asset for us.

    Proper proper player…!

  30. Wath says:

Ts, we don’t need more players with great technique we have plenty of those, we need players who will roll their sleeves up and get stuck in…! We can’t judge Paulista until we have seen him play a few months and am sure he will struggle first few months as he settles in…! Hopefully during that period he doesn’t make to many mistakes that cost us matches.

  31. tsgh says:

    Proper player indeed.
It was funny reading section of fans reaction after Mozart’s average performance against Barca when JW allegedly shone 3 or so years back.

You are spot on mate; Kevin is more skilful than Milner by a mile… I was referring to his versatility only… and the fact he is nearly 27y.o and has not had any injuries…
If he leaves BVb will implode…

  32. tsgh says:

Wath… With RM signing Lucas Silva, RM have to sell… RM would want to recoup the whole £24m they stupidly spent on Asier or send him on loan to Italy rather than help the old adversary Arsenal…

I am surprised AW did not show interest in Lucas Silva at under £12m…

  33. tsgh says:

Hi Rico, well make rumours up as you always do… 😛
Khedira really wants out now.he is bench warming at his age and behind the dwarf modric and Asier and kroos.
With Silva arriving he is doomed.lol

  34. rico says:

He’s not Ts. I’d like to see a bit more height and strength in any DM we sign, one who will match the likes of Toure and Matic….

  35. Wath says:

Ts, If we are to beleive certain reports we did want Silva he has just chosen Real over us…..! Asier is a good player with a good footballing brain BUT i tend to go with Rico on this one, I’d prefer a bigger stronger ventral midfielder purely because we lack that physical height and strength there.

As for Grosskreutz he is coming into him prime Ts, he’s a big strong lad and adaptable yet also good on the ball with as you say the ability to be versatile..! central midfield anyone… lol

  36. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Watching the Aussiea year apart UAE in an Asian cup semi final.
Ok, not exactly Arsenal but hey, we are playing too football.
I’ll tell you all something, our current manager is a hell of a smart operator who gets teams working for him and each other, and playing a top style of football to boot.

  37. scottfromoz says:

And this stupid bloody phone change “Aussies tear” to something that makes complete sense, as usual lol

  38. allezkev says:

Morning Rico, I was getting worried that you’d left Wath to run the show and we’d be waiting all day for the post. Zzzzzzz

  39. allezkev says:

I suppose if you’re Akpom, and you see Wenger picking a big useless lump like Sanogo in front of you, it must pose you questions about where your future is best served….

If it’s just financial, then it’s likely to be Man City…

If it’s game time, then it’s likely to be Liverpool…

Liverpool are desperate for a striker/strikers and they’re about to embark on a stadium re-build, so they’re gonna be economising after spunking a load of dosh on some quite ordinary players’.,,

  40. tsgh says:

I which Akpom would get a few more game Kev..

I still think he will be more effective as a winger or playing on the rhs of a front 3 rather than as a central striker… he still struggles shielding the ball imo… to suit a lone striker role.

  41. allezkev says:

Ginge, it’s just down to a bit of luck…

Coquelin and Bellerin have both benefitted from injuries, Akpom hasn’t…

I hope he stays, but it wouldn’t suprise me if he leaves…
