Rooney, Walcott & Oxlade-Chamberlain….Front of the queue for his signature but……

Mentor/Agent for  Victor Wanyama claims that we are at the front of the queue should the Celtic player leave his club this summer:

Victor’s father Noah calls me almost every week and he tells me Arsenal’s interest is big.

Wenger spoke to Celtic around a month ago and Victor’s father and his mother Mildred says he would prefer to go there before any other club. I will be speaking to his parents again in a week’s time and Victor also. But I already know that Arsenal have a big interest in the player.

Everything can change in a minute. It takes just one phone call. It’s all a bit of a show at the moment. It’s all a game. It’s all about money.

But Victor wants to go to a club where he will play.

Sadly, he is right to a degree, the game is no longer about loyalty to your club, but it’s been like that for a few seasons now and we fans just need to accept that’s the way it is.

We can’t expect fans to be loyal to our club any more than any other club, so yes, it is all a show, a game and all about money. As well though, a player must want to be at a club for other reasons than just money surely? Our new French signing, well, he’s not officially ours yet, has said it’s because of Arsene Wenger.

Back to Abeel and his view on Wanyama:

He is still young and I have told him he needs to be careful about when he takes the really big step. I think myself that it’s better that he has a step in between before going to the really big level.

That’s sensible advice, don’t run before you can walk and all that jazz and to be honest, when I first read that I thought that Abeel was talking about Arsenal being the club sat at ‘really big level’, which I truly believe it is, however:

Celtic play nice football. But every competition is different and the English Premier League is the really big one. It’s just a question of what level Victor goes to.

Van Persie went to Arsenal then moved on later to Manchester United. Victor can do the same if he goes to Arsenal. And I believe that is what he wants. He wants to go to Arsenal.

Does that suggest that he see’s us as just a stepping stone to Manchester United?

If so, then he needs to have a quick rethink. Firstly, I doubt Arsenal FC will ever do business with that club again and secondly, that once mighty club, may just be on the verge on a downwards slope for a few seasons…..

One thing seems sure though, this rumour/story won’t go away. Well not until we have signed Capoue or Gonalons….

Good to see Oxlade-Chamberlain on the score-sheet last night, shame his Dad fell asleep in front of the television and missed it! Rooney, Walcott and OC linked up well didn’t they? Nice to see the celebration after OC’s goal too, a sign of things to come?

Shall we start a rumour…..

Apparently both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are making noises about wanting to sign Lukas Podolski…

Ahhhhh, don’t you just love the summer……

I do…

Have a great day all…

  1. Lewis says:

Not surprised his old man fell asleep, I was close to it. England games are always a bore fest.

    Morning all.

  2. devilgunner says:

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Good point Rico……………if Wanyama sees AFC as a stepping stone then he had better bugger off.

also in the news…….apparently Juventus are thinking of putting together a package to strengthen their spine and are rumoured to be after Mannone, Squillaci, Santos, Diaby, Chamack and Bendtner. It has been said that AFC are reluctant to do business since it would send negative messages that we are a selling club and are refusing to part with them unless an offer in the region of around 1 ton of soaps are paid in advance plus 95% of any sell on fee for any of these top stars.

  3. devilgunner says:

Yesterday I saw Brazil play. I was impressed by their technical ability and also being able to thread a ball through a needle. I was going to protest FIFA for allowing a team to play shadow football for around 60 minutes. But then the announcer sent over a message saying that the last 30 minutes should be played near as normal as possible.

  4. Scott from Oz says:

    Hi guys,
I would not read too much into those comments on Wanyama….something can get lost in translation.
He did say the kid ultimately wants to play for Arsenal.
Shit Devil, Juve really want to grow, don’t they 🙂

  5. Scott from Oz says:

    Ox took his chance brilliantly.
He is coming along very nicely, and will be one hell of a player some day.

  6. devilgunner says:

I was impressed by how Theo, Shrek and Ox combined well. I still think that Rooney will wear an Arsenal shirt next season.

  7. devilgunner says:

If AW gets Shrek and another DM we could go places.

Add Cesar to that lot and we will be up there challenging.

  8. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, if our side defends how it did toward the end of the season, could stand between the sticks 🙂

  9. devilgunner says:

Here it is from AW’s mouth. AT LAST……..we knew it but no one from the club said it.

“When we built the stadium, the new stadium, we had to sit back a little bit with our financial potential and play with more young players and slowly it dropped off a little bit of the fighting for the championships.
We were a few times in there, in the end the experience always lacked a little bit and they got the best of us
In between Chelsea came in and Manchester City came in with huge resources and this aggressiveness was not directed at one club any more.”

  10. Jay says:

Morning all ,great to see the Ox looking the player that we hoped he would turn out to be.Qick thinking decisive ,and not scared to shoot.Surely his time for a bigger part in the team will come next season.Still not sure about Theo ,he always seems nervy ,and lacks confidence in many big games. The Brazil defence is not the best .and I was screaming at him to use his pace and take them on when he had space in behind them

  11. emma says:

Wanyama agent can spit his guts out but I doubt If we are in for him. We have bigger fish to fry

  12. AndyBhoy says:

    Hi,

I’m a Celtic fan who has watched wanyama a lot. I dont think he’s ready yet. I’ve seen him have more than a few poor games. I think he could be the next viera for you guys but reckon if you signed him this summer he wouldn’t play much next season. Although a year learning under wengers coaching system could be of great benefit to him, another year up here playing every game might be just as good. Defensively he is intelligent and he’s a great threat in the air from set pieces. It’s his passing game which lets him down. I think competitive games would develop that more quickly than training.

But then, I am just a spectator

  13. Don says:

a Celtic fan here, great article!! av been a celtic fan all my life am 33 do u really believe fans are that fickle ? i watched the near 10 in a row up north but never thought of switching teams to be honest even tho i live in Ireland and all my mates were premiership followers!! like your insight to the game good work long may your team prosper hail hail!!

  14. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
Looking at all the players we are/not signing,
what catagory do you surpose wenger will look at,
    when making his final decision.
    Super Signing,Exceptional and the latest,
Who would’nt want him in their team.

    Well done Ox,
felt a bit sorry for theo, his first touch,(seen better from a,
baby elephant) spent most of the time covering,
    for Johnson.

  15. Jay says:

Denilson has terminated his contract eh,hoping Squilaaci ,Bendtner and Santos are thinking along the same lines.

  16. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

It’s hard to know what to make of Abeel’s comments on Wanyama. They could be 100% accurate and true or it they could be 100% manure. It’s not the first time our name has been used to tout a player about or shake the tree to see who else may be interested. Because Arsenal are well known for being reticent about commenting, one way or the other, on trnsfer rumours; the club are regularly linked as interested parties, whether they have any interest in the player or not. Time will tell. In the meantime I’m not going to be bothered by it or get excited about it.

  17. frednerk says:

Victor Wanyama’s dad says arsenal’s interest is big,
if victor wants a bit of advice,
Fact..wenger will not take any advice from dads and brothers,
just give Anelka or Pennant a bell mate.

  18. Jay says:

Giroud Supposedly said that he had a big weight around him last season, I cant remember Bendtner partnering him up front can you?

  19. EastSidePaul says:

When is Diaby fit? He’ll be like a new signing… Just thinking we must have signed him at least 9 times by now.

  20. Canadian Gooner says:

It seems that the small amount of transfer fees the club MAY have been able to get for Denilson weren’t worth the time and effort to collect. Better to cancel his contract by mutual consent than risk the possibility of him wasting his and the club’s time on the training pitch, especially if his attitude would be bad and could effect the other players. This bodes well for the club concentrating on the real business at hand – improving the team.

  21. eastsidepaul says:

Scott I think we should bring all the loanies back parade them as new signings, and have a giant money fight..

Jay if we’re paying him what he is worth, I’m sure Denilson would have been paying the club to play for them for the last few years.

  22. Scott from Oz says:

    Agreed CG.
Wenger definitely likes to keep negotiations silent, and for a parent to chime in is just bloody stupid.

  23. W.A.T.H says:

Hi Andybhoy & Don, thanx for your comments sorry but all first comments go into moderation.

Andybhoy, as a defensive midfielder would you then say from watching Wanyama that he overdoes the passing attacking side of his game…?

  24. Scott from Oz says:

Paul, bring them back and show them off in a game.
Based on their wages, we could call it the Charity Shield 🙂

  25. tsgh says:

    Morning all…

A fine post Rico… blame the sunshine again for that 😉

Hi Dev, what did you think of Moura? I thought the miner eh Milner looked very good last night… Theo was good in patches…

Did you see Poldi orchestrating things from deep inside midfield? Loew may have found an alternative to Schweinsteinger…

Scott you said we would sign Schwarzer by now… what happened? lol

And finally Denilson has done a decent thing by agreeing to cancel his contract… you can’t blame him though, he needed the money for his newly built house.

  26. Scott from Oz says:

I wish we would Ginge…….i really do.
    Schwarzer will do a job.
How did Podolksi go in the midfield mate??

  27. devilgunner says:

Ginge I did not see the Germany game. I wanted to see England against Brazil, but somehow only managed to see Brazil. Did Poldi play as a box to box midfielder? Or as an AM.

I was impressed by the Brazilians ability to thread the ball through a needle’s eye. And their two volleys were technically superior to what England had to offer. But then Hodgson received a phone call from AW to play Shrek and Ox together with Theo and voila….the English team responded by going ahead. And Shrek seemed more at ease when he saw a couple of his future teammates alongside him. And he managed to quirk out a bet with his future keeper that he would beat him with a long range shot well before they started to train together so he did that as well.

Aye……more than one bet was won last night!!!! 😉

  28. tsgh says:

🙂 Scott, Poldi was very good actually… I was very impressed with him. But he had a very defensive minded DM next to him so…

Hi WATH, Wanyama will be a decent addition but not at the fees Celtics would demand… is he better than even Frimps? I have seen Frimps play much better against the likes of Di Natale and Isla than Victor has but that is just my opinion…

I am not sure he is defensive enough or mobile to be box to box… I prefer Cabaye to all the likes we have been linked with apart from Capoue of course…

  29. Ibraheem jubreel says:

Good to hear that aresenal plottin victor wayanma. But the only tin is dat’ as am ‘seeing’ this first team star regular will his aim nd determination nd we should allow him.

  30. devilgunner says:

Ahhhh. So Denilson agreed to severe his ties. His conscience might have tugged his heart at having to shuffle to the Emirates to pick his salary for shuffling around the centre circle.

  31. tsgh says:

Dev, thanks to the magic of multi- tuner TV sets I was able to watch both matches… the first half was purely Brazil… I was very impressed with Paulinho and Fred. Poldi played CAM but he looked very deep and timed his runs very well… Kruse played ahead of him… but I am not sure if it was tactical or just that Poldi was less mobile…

    Poldi can play LB too….

  32. devilgunner says:

Just had a phone call……….Cesc has agreed to come back now that Denilson has shuffled out of the picture through the side door.

  33. tsgh says:

Hi Oz… Hope all is well?
Cabaye says he is battling depression… he is man enough to talk about it and I like the fact he wants to to be at arsenal too…

I heard 18 months ago he had a deal agreed and he was spotted flat hunting but Ashley and Pardew back out last minute…

  34. AndyBhoy says:

    Hi w.a.t.h

Not so much, it’s more that he’s a bit lax with it. Sometimes he holds it a bit long and sometimes his passes are just not on target. He has improved it a lot this season on last but if compared with someone like carrick he’d be found wanting. He is great defensively though but for arsenals ambitions you need someone accomplished at both sides. He is capable going forward, I’ve seen him play some unbelievable killer balls it’s just that I’ve seen as many passes go astray.

  35. tsgh says:

Dev, when did the Brazillians start playing long 40 yard diagonal passes… Glen Johnson was really left to his own by Theo as he mostly does defensively… 😉

  36. ozgunner says:

hiya tsgh – yeah a few tough weeks but back on deck mate – thought we’d have a couple in and done by now. Suspected we would move quickly, why i have no idea ha!

  37. allezkev says:

Nice comments from the Celtic fans, cheers guys…

    Morning Gooners.
    Morning Rico.

You know, an zgent starts gobbing off, to me, that points to the deal hitting the buffers, and the agent desperately trying to revive it as he sees his commission disappearing down the pisser.
I don’t enough about Wanyama, to pass a comment on him tbh…

What do think Ginge. Your the Wanyama expert?

  38. tsgh says:

Hi Ak, no not on Victor… I only watch a few SPL matches and CL matches of Celtic.

I think AndyBhoy rates him. In my view that asking price is absurd but I tend to agree with Aw on most so…

  39. devilgunner says:

Ol’e Twitchy has just told me to place a bet on Shrek trudging out of the Emirates at half time wearing a Manure shirt after Pursie begged to exchange it. Twitchy also told me to place a couple o’ quid on Evra punching Pursie for daring to ask Shrek before he did.

  40. Canadian Gooner says:

devil – I doubt Cesc would be worried about competition from Denilson. I wonder if he even remembers who Denilson is?

  41. devilgunner says:

Did someone hit him on the head?????

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he made a “huge mistake” in not signing Gareth Bale from Southampton.

The Wales international eventually moved to Gunners’ rivals Tottenham Hotspur in 2007 and has since become the PFA Player of the Year.

“We didn’t take him because we had Ashley Cole and [Gael] Clichy and we didn’t want to add another left-back, but I must honestly confess it was a huge mistake,” Wenger told Al Jazeera.

Bale has been attracting interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.

  42. allezkev says:

My spelling/grammar just kinda, did a runner back there @ 11.42.
Mind you, blogging on this poxy Samsung crapola phone, doesn’t help…

Yep, bring on the ‘oldies’, Schwarzer and Villa….

    Talking of oldies…

    Hello Wath…. 😛

  43. tsgh says:

Oz… players are picking up injuries in international matches… in my view it is dangerous to spend £15M on a player now who may miss the whole pre-season without even a warm-up in our training kit…

Strurridge is out and TV is also out as examples. I think one’s the big boys make a move the cards will fall to that effect…. 😉

LA Liga, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga just ended so things will start happening…

Jovetic or Gonalon deal may be a start…when that happens the others will happen. If those deals are going to take long I will suggest we go for someone like Ayew he is much versatile and consistent…

But then AW is not meant to be the buyer/negotiator. We should have people working on purchases…

  44. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – If Shrek leaves ManUre, no matter which team he goes to, I can’t see him asking Judas van Pursestrings for his shirt. However, I can see him putting in a hard tackle or two on JvP.

  45. devilgunner says:

its not him CG who asks JVP. Its the other way round. JVP asks Shrek to exchange it.

a couple of hard tackles?? why only a couple???

  46. Jay says:

Scott 10 .59 ,sorry mate I forgot about Arshavin departure make that 20 quid a week.Apparently Juve offered to pay Bendtner wages on what he worth. He said F…. Off im not playing for that sort of money

  47. devilgunner says:

why pay 10 million for JVP.

Manure should pay us to take him back.

Its Shrek I want at AFC

  48. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – A couple of hard tackles to start, enough to put JvP off his oats before Vain bangs one in. As for the shirts, I can’t see it happening either way. JvP has stolen Vain’s thunder and Vain doesn’t like that as he likes to be the centre of attention.

  49. Canadian Gooner says:

Jay – You can’t calculate a Euros/Lira per goal ratio for NB52 as he hasn’t scored any. As usual we’ll hear from his father that there are plenty of teams interested in Nick, but as usual they’ll all have left their wallets back home. I wonder if he’ll still be as cocky as ever or if his ‘triumphs’ in Italy have taught him a lesson.

  50. Scott from Oz says:

Kev, you guys have had the urn on loan for long enough 🙂
Ginge, you have Rico and myself mixed up mate…..she has the undying love for Theo 🙂
    Jay at 12.01….brilliant lol

  51. devilgunner says:

CG…..the wallets all slipped out when NB52’s jeans decided to stick around his ankles.

  52. ozgunner says:

how quick we forget hey rammers 🙂 Whatever happened to that hatrick mate? Please don’t give me a wenger “next year line” haha

  53. devilgunner says:

No Scott. Rico has undying love for Theo’s thighs. But seeing she cant have them it has put her off eating meat. 😉 😆

  54. rico says:

    I am here Scott/Devil 😉 😉

The only urn on loan has tea in it, the little wooden one is staying in England 😛

  55. potter says:

Sounds a bit like Song then. Could do worse but no first team guarantees until youve earned them.

  56. allezkev says:

Sorry Digger, I was a bit quick off the mark….

    I meant that bloody lumberjack… 😉

You just concentrate on panning for gold sonny.

    Grandad, bloody cheek…. 😀

  57. Scott from Oz says:

Kev, i would never call you grandad.
    No.
You are the great grandad 🙂 🙂 🙂
Rico, jump in and hijack our conversation, why don’t you lol

  58. devilgunner says:

Expect clubs to start falling over themselves for this DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER……………COEFF.

  59. Scott from Oz says:

Oz, that hat trick is on it’s way mate…count on it.
Apparently it will come next time Wales play the poms in a one day match 🙂

  60. devilgunner says:

he has no triumphs that way. if he was capable of it his trousers would have managed to stay around his hips and not fall of around his ankles.

  61. allezkev says:

Ok, it seems that the Colonials are ganging up on me today.

So I shall withdraw, and concentrate on doing some work.

    See ya lata, kids, 😉

  62. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – When in the boudoir, I like to concentrate things other than keeping my pants at my waist. To each his/her own.

  63. rico says:

    😆 Emma – nice answer…

I hope so Cg, as long as the deal is cheap and he’s playing alongside Rooney next season 😉

  64. emma says:

CG – I think Villa’s ship has already set sail. There are lots of younger strikers available in this summer which we should be pushing to sign.

  65. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – If it is true, it would mean that Arsene has changed his spots yet again. Wonders never cease. We were linked with him in January, but that I thought was a stopgap to stop our slide down the table. There is usually not a great selection of players available in the mid-season window. When we couldn’t sign him in January, I thought the club’s interest in him would evaporate.

  66. Canadian Gooner says:

emma – You may well be right. I was surprised that we might still be interested. The only way it would make sense is if he was paired with a younger less experienced striker, but that would also mean a change in field formation.

  67. stevepalmer1 says:

Afternoon all nice one Rico, I agree about Rongkey and the Ox both worked hard as for Walcott i don’t think i have ever seen a player find so much empty space to mark. Nill challenges and can’t wait to get rid of the ball and then hot tail it, surly i’m not the only one seeing this am i.

  68. Wavy says:

I think the Villa story is purely speculative. It is all ifs and buts and maybe or perhaps’s. not a shred of evidence anywhere! As usual!
Another st trick to con the super rich ticket holders! And to titivate the punters, that’s us!
I’ll believe it if it happens.

  69. rico says:

    I don’t think we’ll get him though Cg, but….

Hi Sp, you picking on poor TW again 😉 Tbh, I can’t comment as I didn’t see the game, but your description sounds familiar to some of the games he plays for us…

Personally I think friendlies right now are stupid, the season is over and players need rest. Not be travelling to Brazil for a stupid friendly…

  70. tsgh says:

SP1 you love Theo really… he is your definition of a professional 95k/week wanna-be striker turned winger… 😉

Hi Emma, long time… have you been away topping up the tan? 🙂

Scott, you love Theo and Sagna really deep down 😉

  71. tsgh says:

‘Personally I think friendlies right now are stupid, the season is over and players need rest. Not be travelling to Brazil for a stupid friendly…” Rico 😀

How do you think the FA will pay for their new manager when they sack the current gentleman… Harry doen’t come cheap, you know!

  72. devilgunner says:

I do not know if this is true……………….

the ‘Special One’ has already started planning for next season at Stamford Bridge without Luiz.

Barca have targeted the Brazilian – after missing out on top target Thiago Silva, of Paris Saint-Germain – as the man to fix their problems in the centre of defence.

Luiz is a favourite of Blues owner Roman Abramovich, but Mourinho has convinced the Russian the centre-back or midfielder does not fit in with his regimented pattern of play.

Barca look favourites to land him, but new Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan and the Champions League winners are considering a bid.

Real Madrid are also weighing up going for Luiz, 26, who faced England in the friendly at the new Maracana last night.

But Mourinho is determined to raise cash to help with his Chelsea rebuilding plans.

  73. Micko says:

    Afternoon,
From what little I’ve seen of Wanyama playing against the likes of Barca, Moscow and Benfica in the CL this season he hasn’t looked too bad, big lad who likes a tackle and protects the back four well, chips in with the odd goal here and there, down side no idea how he looked against the likes of Ross County and Inverness though.
Biggest disappointment of the day for me was finding out his dad wasn’t called George !

  74. rico says:

Micko, that went through my mind too, they don’t make ’em like that any more eh…

    I liked old Yoofa 🙂

  75. Canadian Gooner says:

Siren sleep calls once more. So, I will bid you all Good Afternoon &/or Evening. Keep the Faith fellow Gooners. Also, keep your sense of humour, if not your sense of the absurd, otherwise it could be a long nerve wracking summer until the transfer window closes.

  76. Micko says:

rico, they show most of the celtic games here, we could do worse.
I’m sure a premiership club will make a move for him.
He’s still a bit raw but that suits AW down to the ground.
There again he could be just number 23 in a list of 67 players we get linked to this summer.

  77. tsgh says:

    Night Cg…

So you have been keeping tabs on the number of players we have been linked with thus far… I am beginning to wonder if you are not the chief editor of Caught Off side and Metro… 🙂

  78. Micko says:

Lee, that was mentioned yesterday, can see it ‘appening.

tsgh, it’s comments like that, that really hurt my feelings !

  79. rico says:

    Night Cg…

Micko, Wanyama or Diaby? Only one winner imho, yes we could do better I suspect but as you say, we could do a whole lot worse…

  80. allezkev says:

If Cesar istmat good, then wtf is he doing at QPR?

I know he plays in goal for Brazil, but Brazilluan goalkeepers are usually crap, so what’s the story?

  81. devilgunner says:

Believe me habib……..he is good. At least up till now. He is not crap. He has won even the champions league and leagues and the FIFA world club cup.

He has experience and is also a winner with the Brazilian national team.

I feel he would be a better bet for the development of Chezzer in the long run.

  82. allezkev says:

Mind you, the last goalkeeper we got from QPR wasn’t bad.

Can’t see Szczesny staying put if Cesar arrives…

Has Fabianski been offered a new deal?

  83. devilgunner says:

    I dont know about Flappy.

But I believe Chezzer has a long term contract with the club. And if he quit without a fight it will only rebound on him later on.

  84. allezkev says:

I would imagine, that part of the deal to bring Mourinho back to Chavski, included Abramovitch allowing him a ‘free hand’ to get shot of a few of Roman’s favourites…

Fernando Torres on £175k pw, any takers (other than Agag).

Would Liverpool sell Suarez for £40/£50m and then take Torres back for say £15m and swallow his wages???

Unless Atletico, flush with their Falcao dosh, could be tempted to bring him home, as long as he takes a pay cut?

And why wouldn’t he, Atletico are ‘his club’ after all.
That must mean something to him (maybe not)…?!

  85. allezkev says:

Ah, Coach, my useless, shitty Samsung crap phone is taking a long time to respond, as usual….

So you rate Cesar eh? How old is he Habib?

  86. devilgunner says:

I wanted to do a bet with Rico that Maureen will not see out his contract with the chavs. but she does not want.

  87. devilgunner says:

    Cesar is 33 years old. 6ft 1inch.

I do rate him mate. And I hope he does well for AFC.

  88. allezkev says:

Coach, Rico can’t afford to lose anymore bets…

She’s in hock to me for a Fiver already…

And I think she forgot the interest payments we agreed to… 😉

  89. allezkev says:

33 is a great age for a goalkeeper.

We could get 5 or 6 years out of him if he stays fit…

A year at QPR hahaha, will have helped his adaption to EPL footie…

On the face of it a good deal for Arsenal.
But a bad deal for Szczesny…

  90. devilgunner says:

I prefer Cesar to Valdez for the simple reason that I feel that the latter is over rated. He plays for Barca yes, but has never proved himself abroad. He plays in a fixed league where only two teams exist. Yes he has been used to play behind a team which prizes possession yet he did not cover himself in glory when Barca became so Farca when Messi was injured. They missed him big time and all the team nosedived. A good keeper gives you points….Valdez did not. Obviously if it was a choice between him and Joe Hart I would choose Hart hands down. Yesterday he saved England from humiliation in the first half alone. Had Valdez been between the sticks for England the result would have had tennis score all over it.

  91. devilgunner says:

Mignolet or Begovic are both good. But they are not winners. And none of them provide the experience needed for the team to cross the finishing line. The present AFC team needs a couple of winners who can lift the team. None of them is a winner as a thoroughbred. Cesar would bring that (in the same manner as Rooney may).

  92. devilgunner says:

Then again he may flop big time. But then you never know neither with him nor with the others. Each buy might turn out to be a PV or a TH or a Petit one. And it might turn out to be Arshavin or Squilli or a Chamack.

There is an element of risk in each new player.

  93. devilgunner says:

Adam said that the amount of things AK can do with a fiver can leave you short of breath Rico.

  94. devilgunner says:

a fiver can buy you 20 pastizzi Adam. that would make it around 10,000 calories mate. enough to fill up three cows.

  95. devilgunner says:

Santos would like them so much that they will put him off burgers for his whole life and open up a pastizzi shop in Brazil. He would become a millionaire in just one Carnival.

  96. rico says:

Tell you want, didn’t see Jose back to Chelsea coming. What a shocker that news is ….pffff

  97. allezkev says:

    Adam, re: Fiver…

Lee taught me all I know, including the intense gaze… 😉

    Lata amigos

  98. Adam says:

Rico. Not as slim as the sylph-like Kev these days. If he turned sideways you wouldn’t see him. And that mesmeric stare he has developed! If I were a woman I would be putty in his hands.

  99. Adam says:

Perish the thought Dev. All my life I have longed for that kind of power. Lee said he would show me how.

  100. devilgunner says:

Maybe a palantiri or the One ring would have given you what you craved for Adam. Power can be fickle mate. One minute you are on top shouting with glee, the next you are under struggling for breath.

  101. Adam says:

Dev. I do believe I detect a philosophical side to your complex nature. I myself am a simple man. Mrs Adam says I am crude and rather prehistoric in my behaviour. I think unsophisticated is a better word.

  102. devilgunner says:

ahhhhh. philosophy. Simple words used in a complex manner to select the crude and prehistoric from the complex psychological behaviours. Maybe immortality is what you are still seeking Adam.

  103. Adam says:

Even immortality might not grant me enough time to see dear Arsene assemble a title-winning team again.

  104. devilgunner says:

I gather that your favourite song at the moment is

“There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Arsene, dear Arsene.
There’s a hole in the bucket.
    A HOLE”

  105. devilgunner says:

So you have a big problem with how the hole could be mended dear Henry, erm sorry, Adam

  106. devilgunner says:

but do you think that straw would be enough for AW to mend it or you think something more solid is needed??

  107. rico says:

Adam, if AW stays and signs the right players in the next month or two, I think the PL crown is not too far away…

  108. devilgunner says:

Adam is afraid of complex concentric circles Rico. He thinks that whatever happens AW will always end up with a hole in the bucket.

  109. devilgunner says:

Adam and Kev, mates……….if we spent a whole year living together under the same roof it still would not be enough.

  110. devilgunner says:

Me and Kev would spend all day talking tactics and teams. Adam and I would spend all night talking sense and philosophy. And while the lousy gits would take it in turns to rest I would be the one spending 24/7 awake to talk to them both.

  111. devilgunner says:

An Italian website has put forward the seedings for the next Champions league

Gruppo 1 (teste di serie): Bayern Monaco, Barcellona, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Porto, Benfica/Arsenal (if they overcome qualifiers)

Gruppo 2: Atletico Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympique Marsiglia, CSKA Mosca, PSGs… and if they overcome qualifiers Milan, Lione e Schalke 04

Gruppo 3: Juventus, Manchester City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Olympiakos, Galatasaray …. and if they overcome qualifiers Zenith San Pietroburgo e Basilea

Gruppo 4: Bayer Leverkusen, Copenhagen, Napoli, Anderlecht……and if they overcome qualifiers Celtic, Bate Borisov, Steaua Bucarest e Apoel Nicosia).

  112. Adam says:

Blimey. It looks as though Durham has matched Cesar Pastizzi for Pastizzi. The knife would have needed a long blade to get through that amount of blubberousness.
Seems like the reality of Durham is some way from the fantasy that is the drawing of him that I have seen.
A real shame though. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke.

  113. rico says:

If any of you lovely people feel the urge to write something about Arsenal during the closed season, please feel free to email me..

    😛

  114. devilgunner says:

I am trying to think up of sumfing Rico. But at the moment there is a hole in my bucket and any idea I have keeps slipping out.

  115. devilgunner says:

I am off dear friends. Its been a nice day today and its great, nay I would rather say ‘triffic’ talking to you lot. but hole or no hole it would have been far greater with a tray of pastizzi and a bottle of wine eh Adam!!!!!

so I bid you all a good night and healthy dreams of the pleasurable kind.

  116. tsgh says:

    Evening all,

Rico you have really made my day with the 7:11 pm… 😀

I shouldn’t laugh but he is well… so I can laugh… thieves smell rats and he is a big fat ginger one… 😀

  117. tsgh says:

    soon I meant… Jeez I can’t spell anymore…

Going for a short run before its too late. Its been another long stressful day. I left old job thinking it will be easier as a civilian but…

    … tomorrow Rico

    Night all…

  118. tsgh says:

Interesting… Since summer 2010, Barcelona have spent 151m on transfers. As Marca’s Luis Rojo pointed out in the days following the game, that spend yielded just two starters for the humiliation at the Allianz Arena — Jordi Alba and Alexis Sanchez, though admittedly few would argue that the club haven’t had good value from David Villa, for example.

  119. allezkev says:

Good heavens, Adam and Coach discussing the meaning of life, instead of zonal marking has kinda blown my mind, man!

I’m glad you liked my new blue contact lenses Adam.
As you guessed, I am trying to model myself on Lee.

But our Lee is streets ahead when it comes to being a babe magnet.
I am in awe of his power over women….

Mind you Adam, the way you finger your plectrum would have many a femail feeling weak at the knees…

I was very impressed by your dexterity…

  120. allezkev says:

I gather, from certain comments on here, that that diamond geezer, Adrian Durham, has morphed into a fat bastard.

Well, I always knew that he was a bastard, and a bit of a cnut, but a FAT bastard, ha ha ha.

    That’s made my day…

  121. Adam says:

Cheers Kev. I will get some practice in for the next time. I already changed the strings on all my guitars and am re-learning the Robin Trower licks for you.

  122. kufre .J. Akpan says:

If wenger will buy arsenal will be okay but if is
Not buying my dear follow fan forget in the next twenty yrs 2come we ar nt going to tough any trophy mains why hour destiny is in wenger hand our fan if wenger can nt give us trophy next session we av 2 say goodbye to him Thx.

  123. rico says:

We need a Louis on here..

    Morning Adam, Lee and all..

Wenger going after Michu if Rooney bid fails … 🙄

  124. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Good article on Mourinho by Mick Dennis in the Express.
    Michu? Mmm.
Is all this Wenger interested in Rooney stuff just sales talk for ST’s.

  125. Lee says:

Morning Rico and Brudder-Adam…. the special needs one said to the chav’s fans that he was one of them, what a complete cnut? Err yes!
    Michu it is then…

  126. rico says:

I was more interested on the article about how a vegetarian diet can help us live longer…

I did think of the HH Curry Club and your next night out 😉

  127. rico says:

Nicely summed up how I feel about the ‘man’ too Lee..

    Martinez the new Everton manager….

I think Rooney is a genuine story, whether the club will pay his wages is a different thing…

  128. Lee says:

Well you “super rich season ticket holders” as someone said on here yesterday can afford your ST’s so why the need for the spin? Bellend!

  129. rico says:

I didn’t see that comment Lee, too busy nattering to one of the ‘super rich season ticket holders’ 😛

  130. rico says:

Sounds nice Adam, well, if I knew what it was… 😉

Got to pop off out, will be back around 9.15….

  131. Lee says:

If I remember correctly from the photograph you showed me…wonderful ankles with extremely powerful thighs!
