Morning all.
Jackie Boy is fit! He, Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky were all robbed of having a long and more successful Arsenal career than they had. Jack Wilshere is back at the club as he’s keeping fit whilst going for his coaching qualifications. There’s nothing more to him being at the club than that says Mikel Arteta. He is though, chatting with the young and old players at the club which must be great for all including Jack. There’s nothing like a bit of reminiscing over a cuppa and I’m sure our old number ten has a few stories to tell.
He has experienced that better than anyone else, he was an extremely successful player and we have some really good examples of the path, [For a young player] it is about making it here, beginning to establish yourself and then taking it to the next level for many years and that is very complicated and I think Jack has a great experience to share and talk about what he has been through in his career. Mikel Arteta told AFC.com.
Come January though, when Partey, Elneny and Aubameyang are on duty at the ACON and if Granit Xhaka is still struggling to regain full fitness, who knows…
Takehiro Tomiyasu has won the fans vote for September’s player of the month on Arsenal.com. Am I surprised? Absolutely not, it had to be between him, Ramsdale or Gabriel in my opinion. It wasn’t though as Emile Smith Rowe came third behind our new keeper.
So what is Tomi like to manage?
A joy! He is so excited, you can see that for him it is a dream to be here and he is doing it in the right manner, with the passion but with the right commitment, and as well with the right amount of self assurance that he is capable of doing it. I’m very impressed, he has done it in a really natural way. It puts a smile on your face when you look at him, for how he communicates, how he is. – Mikel Arteta.
Mikel Arteta is one of five nominated for the Premier League manager of the month award along with Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Graham Potter and Dean Smith. Arteta deserves it but I doubt he’ll get it.
England under 21’s drew 2-2 with Slovenia last night. Emile Smith Rowe started and finished the match with both Flo Balogun and Tyreece John-Jules getting twenty minutes off the bench. Portugal Under 21’s beat Liechtenstein 11-0. I thought the margin would be greater by the end as it was 9-0 at halftime. Nuno Tavares player the full game and scored one of the goals.
The senior teams play either tonight or tomorrow in the first of two international fixtures during this break. For England it’s the first time that a group of female officials will be in charge of their matches so all eyes will be on them I’m sure. Ukraine’s Kateryna Monzul will be the referee while compatriots Maryna Striletska and Svitlana Grushko have been named her assistants for the match against Andorra.
In other football news. Newcastle UTD finally ride themselves of Mike Ashley as a £305 million takeover was completed. It’s expected that the Saudi Arabian-backed group will come in, replace Steve Bruce and invest heavily into the club. Great for the Newcastle fans, not so great for the rest of the Premier League clubs. Or Steve Bruce if the axe falls on his Newcastle career. The Public Investment Fund (PIF), which will provide 80% of funds for the deal are reported to have £250bn worth of assets. Still, they’ll have FFP to adhere to just like any other club. What a joke that is!
See you in the comments.
All part of Boris’ levelling up , cash splashers are being evenly distributed across the nation . First London then Manchester now Newcastle .
Lots of coverage of Saudi now and maybe they won’t actually like what is being said about them but I doubt it will change much although the hypocrisy of the woke culture in football and their human rights stance is quite amusing .
Rainbow laces in RIYADH anyone ?
Rainbow laces in Saudi? It’s probably a crime just to think about it over there.
Female officials shouldn’t be a problem, all the players should be well used to be moaned at by woman…
Just saying 😆
I’m hoping the world has moved on from the Gray and Keys days when Sian Massey made her debut.
Can you say that any more Kev? 😜
He had to ask permission first .
Ha ha.
Arteta has been named the PL manager of the month. I’m amazed.
Nice for the manager and his coaching team but a bit premature to read too much into it . However congratulations Mikel.
I can Rico, I just say it and immediately run for the hills. 😄
I was surprised he got it, just hope it’s not the poison chalice it can sometimes be.
Ha ha Kev and mind those ‘wokies’ as you’re running.
Don’t know how Arteta won manager of the month but good on him.
Jack is back learning how to coach and having tea with the younger players getting fit, look out Arteta jack is coming 😆
New post up now
