Newspapers seem not to be content with starting the rumours about Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri leaving, over doing the Cesc to Barcelona situation, this morning see’s big headlines in The Daily Star:
‘Robin van Persie wants out of Arsenal’
‘He is deeply worried at the prospect of the club’s big players being sold and promising prospects – rather than star names – being signed to fill their places’.
‘And van Persie is ready to rock the Gunners further by handing in a transfer request IF boss Arsene Wenger fails to replace his departing Fabregas’ impending departure to Barcelona would promote van Persie to skipper as the club’s most experienced player, having joined from Feyenoord seven years ago’.
The above is what the article says!!
What utter garbage – there is no quotes from our Dutch striker, no interview, no nothing, this is surely just a case of another reporter jumping on the bandwagon and writing negative stories about our club.
The same paper then goes on to suggest that Arshavin could be on his way out with Galatasaray considering a £13.5 offer for our Russian…
Most of the other papers seem to be reporting doom and gloom about Arsenal…..
I wonder why I read all the papers this time of year as they make very unhappy reading and most of what is written is just speculation and seems to be written by reporters who love to write negative stories about our club…
I wish the club would have something to say to us but I guess if there is nothing to report, they won’t!
Wonder what tomorrow will bring…..
seriously were in such a messed up situation.. we gona loose cecs, nasri, clichy… this is just the begining of the fall.
i hate the board and ppl managing our club i wish sumone like osama bombed them….
And van Persie is ready to rock the Gunners further by handing in a transfer request IF boss Arsene Wenger fails to replace his departing Fabregas’ impending departure to Barcelona would promote van Persie to skipper as the club’s most experienced player, having joined from Feyenoord seven years ago.
What the fuck does this shit even mean? This sentence doesn’t even mean anything?
I don’t get all the worry if Clichy, Nasri, Fabregas and Van Persie want out then let them go.
We are supposedly the best side in the world at nuturing young talent so most have replacements.
Gervinho isnt great trust me, Alvarez god knows who he is all I know is nobody else wants him and we wont pay out for Juan Mata
For now though a line up of
Szcielsny
Sagna Vermealan Koz Gibbs
Song
Ramsey Wilshere
Walcott Arshavin
Bendtner
Aint too bad
Although even Bendtner wants out LOL
Morning Guys
terry, i does not bode well does it….
Hi George,
that’s exactly my point, the article sucks, is full of no sense so why do these reporters write it, how are they allowed to just make up stuff, beggers belief…
Morning all.good read rico.the papers are hungry for something big.there has not been a megasigning yet so they are trying to force one.we are an easy target as they can always use the ‘6 years without a trophy’ smoking gun among other little snippets to make it a believable story.they have dragged chavs into the nasri chase, madrid to cesc chase and now rvp wants out despite no shred of evidence.weren’t sanchez and cesc supposed to be signed yesterday by barca?now its Tuesday…yeah right.were we not made to believe we’ll unveil 3 players yesterday?i don’t give a damn what the papers anymore as they are driving me insane with speculation that has no substance.i’ll only believe Arse.com from now on.
I love arsenal and alwayz will till the end but this is not right our management is just not right we make so much revenue… ya well pay off the debts we’ll be a debt free club but we will not have any trophies… most fans will leave us… our young talnted players will leave us RVP and walcott just have 2 yrs left on their contracts and we are offering jack, ramsay, gibbs contracts… i am not a negetive person but all thats happening is too sad and depressing 🙁
Rico did you read what JM posted late last night?those 2 articles really put things into perspective.
I think Arsene should keep hold of Cesc & Nasri because if we should lose the both of them there’s gonna be problem. It will be difficult for a new signed player to cope with the club pattern of play during the first season so Arsenal shouldn’t sell Cesc nor Nasri.
Morning Kt, thats me too, afc.com or nothing – the RvP story tops the lot, it’s gutter….
Why is this story so hard to believe ? Makes perfect sense when you think about it. RVP sees our lack of big name quality signings as a lack of ambition and sincerity on the club’s part. Who could blame him for thinking of leaving ?
Cesc has already gone public with his comments on whether Arsenal want to develop kids, or actually win things i.e. sign EXPERIENCED players. He ( Cesc ) was lied to by Wenger last season, in order to keep him at the club. Now Cesc is about to leave because he’s had enough. Why is it so hard to imagine RVP feeling the same way ? Who can blame him ? He knows we’re now just a feeder club. A pure profit making venture. Led by a weak gutless board, who indulge Wenger, giving him far too much power and influence, in return for maintaining the revenue streams.
On field success ? That’s just incidental ( or accidental ). The main objective is just to finish top 4. Allow our best players to leave, and go through the motions of pretending to sign our supposed transfer targets. Wait till late in the window, and then say “The prices were too high.We couldn’t get anyone in time.” Then proceed to rely on Project Youth.
We’re not a big club anymore. We’ve adopted a small club mentality. We need Usmanov in, to shake things up from top to bottom.
“In Arsene we rust.”
terry, i think most feel the same,
cesc has to go, maybe even Clichy but nasri should have been sorted out last summer, no way should we be in this situation…
all we need is 4 experienced players yet still no sign of anyone…
Kt, i will go get them and bring them over…

Hold fire on Gunners and Wenger

There’s nothing the media love more at this lazy stage of the summer, when wishy-washy transfer stories are the order of the day, than a good old crisis. Thankfully, the newspapers were able to latch onto Thursday’s developments at Arsenal, where a pivotal summer for the club and Arsene Wenger became a touch more vital due to what is inevitably being described as an imminent ‘exodus’.
Leading the growing ranks of the restless to the Promised Land away from Emirates Stadium is, of course, Cesc Fabregas, and an inauspicious start to Thursday was ensured by reports in the press that a £35 million deal would be done with Barcelona. Frankly, ED suspects most football fans would be happy to be put out of their misery on this front.
A merciful end is hopefully nearing in one of the most protracted and tiresome sagas since George Eastham took four years to bring an end to retain and transfer in 1963. That blessed moment when Cesc poses next to the Barca club crest will be football’s answer to a trip to Dignitas.
But Arsenal fans stewing in the news of the likely loss of their captain had more to assail them when the afternoon brought with it a fresh development and the news that Gael Clichy was poised to join Manchester City for £7 million and that another Frenchman with one year left on his contract, Samir Nasri, could indeed be joining him.
Well, that’s depending on which source you read in this ever reliable period of the football calendar. The largely impeccable Daniel Taylor of The Guardian reports city are “bemused” by the Nasri suggestion.
But if Arsenal do lose the man shortlisted for the Player of the Year award – in conjunction with their skipper, whose head is so clearly in Barcelona that he may as well be sporting Sagrada Familia novelty specs on his next public appearance – it will clearly represent a severe truncation of the club’s creative talent. Real cause for concern.
However, the imminent departure of Clichy, and for a respectable £7 million, is nothing to fret about. His form has been on the slide for years, as has his ability to interpret the offside rule.
Thursday did not witness a positive turn of events by any means, but it was not exactly the end of days either, even if the agent of Denilson also revealed there have been no offers for his client. Big-name departures can just about be stomached, but another season of the Brazilian incarnation of an ageing Ray Wilkins, master of the sideways pass?
What said developments certainly did do, surely, was convince the trained economist sat in the manager’s office that now is no time for austerity packages in North London. The sales of Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy, if confirmed, will bring in £62 million alone, and more could follow.
No longer can Wenger turn to youth and repeat the mistakes of the past. And mistakes they were, even if guided by the noblest of intentions.
Though giving Fabregas the freedom to express himself in the wake of Patrick Vieira’s departure in 2005 resulted in the growth of one of the world’s finest midfielders, Gael Clichy has not met Ashley Cole’s standards and, most crucially, Wenger’s decision to place faith in Denilson in a summer when Lassana Diarra, Gilberto Silva and Mathieu Flamini all left the club was a bad decision with lengthy repercussions.
What is clear is that there is no new generation pushing for inclusion. Jack Wilshere, to his immense credit, has skipped a few grades, but surely Wenger will realise that the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong, Henri Lansbury and Conor Henderson are not the answer Arsenal are searching for at the moment.
Hard cash needs to be injected into the market to produce Arsenal’s own stimulus package and the encouraging news is that Wenger is already showing a readiness to slay the sacred cows that have constituted the philosophy of his approach in the transfer market in recent seasons.
Though ED admits Gervinho, who confirmed he is en route in The Sun on Friday morning, could hardly be more of an archetypal Wenger signing – a flashy forward from Ligue 1, he even came through at Beveren for God’s sake – pursuits of Chris Samba and Gary Cahill suggest a more open and inclusive approach to the transfer market this summer.
Developments so far – namely the capture of youngsters Carl Jenkinson, Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin – have ensured envious glances are being cast at the early work being done at Old Trafford, but there are still two full months remaining in the window. Indeed the European market only formally opened for business on Friday.
It was a point acknowledged by Wenger himself on Thursday as he said: “We are in a waiting period, everybody is waiting for the other moves. Everybody has their cards in [their] hands, hoping for the big transfer. There is nothing moving yet. The period will be more active at the end of July when we will need to really strengthen the team.”
That last part bears repeating: “We will need to really strengthen the team”. It is not a phrase that Arsenal fans have heard often from a man loathe to criticise his players in public or indeed introduce new recruits for fear of “killing” those coming through.
If significant investment is not made then this could very well be the season that finally buries Wenger. In that respect it is probably the biggest challenge he has faced at the club.
But let’s not bury him prematurely. There are plenty of concerning developments at Arsenal, but with change comes the opportunity for the renewal and realignment of the squad and its approach.
Such an undertaking is inherent with risk of course, but results over the past few years have hardly suggested this is a squad that deserves to remain intact.
The trick lies in striking the right balance. This is not a crisis yet.

Not the end of the world at the Emirates
The doors at the Emirates are all facing in one direction this summer: outwards. The dash for the exits is now set to define Arsenal’s summer. First Gael Clichy, next Samir Nasri, with in all probability the ludicrously extended soap opera that is Barcelona’s interest in Cesc Fabregas following up as the punchline.
When Arsene Wenger told us this could be a significant close season in the life of his club, nobody expected him to be talking about a fire sale.
Clichy’s move to Manchester City is, as yet, the only virtually confirmed transfer, but it speaks volumes for what is going on at the club. For City’s manager Roberto Mancini, it is a shrewd bit of business. This is a player in his prime, with enormous Champions League experience who can resolve a problem area in the blue backline for the next five years.
What the player himself said about it, however, was interesting. He reckoned Arsenal just didn’t love him enough. This is partly code for the fact that City have demonstrated their affection by upping his salary by more than 60 per cent, the kind of rise in remuneration not even the Prince of Wales expects.
It is also, though, a reflection of the fact that – with Kieran Gibbs nudging ever closer to taking his position – he didn’t feel entirely secure in his first team sinecure. Being loved for a footballer means being guaranteed a starting spot. Such are the perils of serious, proper competition for places.
It is also a clue as to where the Arsenal fan might find some consolation in the gloom. If you look at the outward traffic another way, it represents pretty good business for Wenger. For all their vaunted reputation, Clichy, Nasri and Fabregas have actually delivered nothing for Arsenal.
True, the Spaniard was on the fringes of the first team the last time they won anything back in 2005, and Clichy technically won a medal for the unbeaten season in 2003-04, but they have been part of the side that has repeatedly flattered only to deceive.
With nigh-on £70million in his back pocket from their sale, the manager has the means to invest in talents that might deliver. They had their chance, now it is someone else’s turn.
It is a particularly compelling argument when you look at who the manager already has at his disposal. Such is Gibbs’s ability it is hard to believe Clichy’s departure will even be noticed, while I would rather go into battle with Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey alongside me than Samir Nasri any day of the week. The Frenchman is a twinkle-toed luvvie. A scrapper though? Hardly. Going missing seems to be his default position in big games.
As for Fabregas, such has been the epic narrative of his wooing by Barcelona, a mercy killing at last is in all the parties’ interest. There was no point Fernando Torres hanging on at Anfield, souring the atmosphere with his ambition to leave. Indeed, despite what many of us predicted, Liverpool have not imploded at his departure, but have survived and thrived.
So it could be with Fabregas. He has had his heart in Catalonia ever since he was forced to wear a Barca shirt in Spain’s post-World Cup winning celebrations. When a player wants to go, it is pointless trying to keep him.
Plus, unexpected and painful as they might initially appear, the Arsenal sales are not from areas of the team that will cause immediate weakness. Regulars at the Emirates have known to the point of inflicting phone-in atrophy what their team needs.
Losing a couple of midfield gadflies and a left-back won’t alter those imperatives. If Thomas Vermaelen had been sold it would have caused a lot more problems.
Nothing has really changed here. Arsenal need reinforcing down the spine: in goal, at centre-back and centre-forward. Provided Wenger spends the accrued income in those areas, there is no reason beyond sentiment why the three departed will be hugely missed.
It is time for Wenger to restructure the team. These departures have forced his hand

How do you know Cesc was ‘lied to’??
Re the story, it is not written by RvP, it probably holds no truth whatsoever…
I also find it quite rude for the club to stay silent in a period when speculation is mounting about our best players leaving.i understand the need to keep a certain degree of discretion but doing it to your own fans is just rude.all this speculation is eating at us slowly and painfully but not a word from management to reassure us.i find it quite distasteful to be honest. eriod when speculation is mounting about our best players leaving.i understand the need to keep a certain degree of discretion but doing it to your own fans is just rude.all this speculation is eating at us slowly and painfully but not a word from management to reassure us.i find it quite distasteful to be honest.
Rico i don’t know why my comments are duplicating themselves.
arsenal is the next liverpool whether we like it or not.
You have to laugh at all the media , a story is made up then arguments and counter arguments will be stacked up against that story by the very same people. There are three true statements that have come out from Arsenal in the past few weeks, Gazides, “there will be a few players coming in and a few players going out in the next few months”, Wenger, “Nasri will not be sold to man united” and “my phone is in constant use at the moment”. Anything and everything else is a load of bollocks and if your daft enough to get taken in by it you could be heading for the funny farm.
wenger should work a miricle here and try and hold cecs, nasri, clichy buy super quality players im sure he is the onli one who can convence these players to stay no one else.
we are this colse to either be a super power or distuction… all we lack is a world class winger, a defender and a back up striker
i dont blame these players if they want to move on why shud they stay at a club when the board and the manger only think of them selfs not the club . we have a spineless manger who does what the board tells him what to do. cause if wenger was that great of manger like sum ppl think he is why let two of players go in too there last year of there contracts and now they want out .wenger is full of empty promises thats all he is he wont give players a decent wage package in there contract and thats why they want to go now so good luck to them cause arsenal fc is going down hill fast and plus wenger knows that too. all wenger wants to do is go out and buy cheap kids and try and make them men but this dosnt allways work out that way . so if these players want out its not there faults its the board and the spineless manger we have that is at fault and for that yank who ppl think he will do good for the club dream on guys cause he is just as spinless as wenger and just mean also so unless arsenal fc change there ways in the transfer market i think this club will fall from the top four club to a mid table club
Rico – He was lied to .And deceived. If you’d read the reports before the start of last season, Cesc was fed up and disillusioned from the lack of success the year before ( and the five before that, presumably ). He indicated to Wenger that he was toying with the idea of leaving for Barcelona. (This saga has been going on for a long time, remember). Wenger , wanting desperately to hold onto Cesc and thinking (wrongly as it turned out ), we would actually win the league this season, persuaded Cesc to remain, mainly by assuring him there would be big name signings to prove that we were “serious” in our “ambition”. Sound familiar ? The signings didn’t happen. Wenger relied on what we had. The outcome was obvious, and we finished a predictable fourth. So Cesc was misled.
The same thing is happening again. But Cesc isn’t falling for it this time !
I know the story wasn’t written by RVP, but he can see what happened with Cesc, and it’s understandable that he would want out. No big name QUALITY signings made yet, so it’s deja vu.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Kt, i wish they would come out and tell us something, all we do is read the gutter written while it seems the board are sat on their butts doing nothing….
Spectrum
I’ll tell you has been lied to the most over the last few years and that’s us fans – how many times has wenger said he would be buying but never has…
I’m stating to think it will be more of the smae this summer too…
Oh, and I see where you are coming from though 😉
wenger be serious don’t take arsenal as your personal or father’s club. can you revail for us players you signed so far. sir ALEX has done why not you? how special are you to fool people who pay for the existence of that club by paying DSTV Subscrition etc.
Hi to those just joining this morning, sorry for the delay in coming on…
When cesc signed a new contract in 2006 we had just come from a CL final.to convince him to sign a 8 year contract then with madrid lurking he must have been promised alot.some were met like him being made the centerpiece.some like success have proved illusive.i remember cesc begging wenger to sign villa.its clear he has become disillusioned.this ‘going home’ saga is bollox.if we were winning trophies and barca weren’t you wouldn’t hear him wanting out.if Arsene dallies again who is to say rvp, sagna and jack won’t feel the same?
terry
he won’t keep cesc and clichy but i hope nasri stays – only as i don’t want him at another pl side…
Rico – I’m glad that you’re seeing the light. This charade has been occurring for years. It’s a racket. Feed the fans with the same old platitudes. Promise them the world, but don’t worry if we don’t win anything, as long as we keep the income rolling in from season ticket sales ( up 6.5% ) merchandise, and corporate boxes e.t.c..
Wenger’s skinflint style suits the board to a tee. They know that even WITH the funds they give him, with his mentality, he’ll be reluctant to spend much of it. So it’s turned out. In the meantime, Wenger’s neglect and incompetence has got the players and supporters alike, disillusioned and frustrated.
We need fresh ideas and a new direction for the club. Even Lady Bracewell – Smith just called the current board members “passe”. Usmanov has stated his intentions for the club. We should give him the opportunity. But change is what the board, manager, and the ignorant A.K.B.’s, fear.
“In Arsene we rust.”
What really narks me is that Wenger and Gaziidis said they would be busy in the transfer window – they kind of gave the impression business would be done quickly and experienced Pl players…
So far this has not happened and when they said they would be busy, didn’t realise they meant players leaving….
Wenger:
“Currently, everyone is standing still,” Wenger said in an interview with a French radio station.
“Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer.
“Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team.
“But I am very active on the phone.”
Can we by any miracle keep cesc and nasri but still buy Alvarez, cahill and Gervinho?
Spectrum, I saw the light a few seasons ago, when Henry left, it all started….
The russian would be a quick fix but long term, who knows what would happen?
Lady Nina was spot on, the board are a bundh of old farts….
Personally not bothered who Nasri goes to, He flatters to deceive. Losing Cesc is a much bigger blow but seems inevitable. We are at a cross roads and still have good players at the club but to keep them we have to sign more than potential. Just a name like Schwienstieger would keep both the fans and the players happy and show intent. If it slows down project”” pay the debt off and increase the clubs value “” so be it, but that’s the sort of thing they need to be doing.
Rico its quotes like those that make me want Arsene out.why did he tell us that we were going to buy early?he is shifting goalposts now which to me is a clear indication that nothing will change.now he is talking about early August, next he’ll tell us that he won’t sleep on deadline day.and why is he looking at other teams?he should be analysing his own team and fixing the problems.im getting sick and tired of him.
Kt, Cesc is gone and I think we all need to accept it – it may not have been announced yet but there is no way back for him imho.
I read that Barca were waiting until 1st July because that is when their new financial year begins and a deal is expected to be done before tuesday, when our lot return for pre-season.
Nasri, who knows what will happen, if he cares about football he will stay, if it’s money, i guess he will go.
Potter –
I would prefer him to go abroad but, i see what you are saying, to be honest, who’s place would he take at Citeh r Red Nose lot??
He would be doing what Cesc will do at Barca and thats sit on the bench but with £180K in his pocket each month, will he care??
Nasri is very talented but does he look like a player to get us out of jail in the crunch?i don’t think so but we know he has the ability and it would be devastating to see someone like rednose get it out of him.id rather he went abroad too.cesc though will be a big loss.
Kt, you and me both….
I wish the club would make a statement re Nasri, either saying they are still in talks or that he is not going to sign a new contract…
Popping off for a bit, back after lunch…
Anyone want to buy a car, lovely little runner, one lady owner.
Do you believe what I just wrote? No? Why not, you seem to believe everything else that is written.
I don’t know why but the media seem to have a very obvious anti-Arsenal bias. Ask yourself, do you read this crap about Man Utd? Chelsea? Even Liverpool or Tottenham? The answer is no and I have been thinking about this.
For me, all this anti-Arsenal crap started when we dared to challenge Man Utd for the title, we started getting stories that so and so wasn’t happy, so and so wanted out. What other big English club CONSTANTLY hears about their captain leaving every summer? Oh that’s right, it’s just us, why is that?
Fergie treats the press in this country like absolute crap but they lick the dirt from his feet, Wenger is a gentleman and gets treated like scum. I wish the Arsenal PR department would ban all but the regulated interviews and break in and say no comment when Wenger gets asked idiot questions.
It is time as a club that we stand against the English media and start banning them.
I beg you guys, stop reading the crap the press “report”.
On a last note, when was the last proper report you read about a game the day after in the papers? It is all speculation, conjecture and the personal opinion of the “reporter”. I doubt half of them even went to the game so little is written about it.
One thing’s for sure. If Nasri goes to United, he’ll have nowhere to hide. Alex Ferguson doesn’t tolerate slackers. Perform or you’re out. Which is how it should be. Unlike our club.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Just a stupid resentful invention of an article (a la style of John Cross/Darren Lewis & co, at the Mirror). Just ignore the idiots who wrote (invented) this nonsense; as usual it is inevitable to miss the lack of any quotes, sources, or any relation to any content whatsoever!
I live in Holland, know RVP and his Feynoord team mates and a couple of Dutch legends like Rijkard more than well. TRUST ME, RVP IS MORE THAN HAPPY AT ARSENAL, AND AIN’T GOING NOWHERE, he does not even have a clue about this so called article!
This is England, where a lot of people don’t exactly love “foreigners” (to put it mildly), but pretend otherwise. When we play abroad and anyone makes any racist chants we become outraged and complain to the FA, but in England the in several stadiums they can chant “Bomber-terrorist” for Mido, but the FA “promise to investigate”, then do absolutely ZILCH!
Wayne dive master Rooney can say “I am an honest lad and never dive and only foreigners dive”, and the media not only do not criticize him or even laugh at him, they actually endorse him!
But hey, that is nothing! His sex escapades, same as those of Terry, Giggs, … where kept secret for ages, while the media could not get enough of Robin Van Persie´s invented “rape case”, where the woman actually had made statement to the police e on day 1 that he was not one of those who approached her!
John Terry drove over a steward´s toes, gave unauthorized tour of the Stamford Bridge for cash, his father was convicted for being a drug dealer, but all this is not interesting stuff for the British media to print.
Sam the thug Allardyce whose greatest success was achieving decent mediocrity with Bolton, was given a regular platform to say how he hates winging Wenger, but hey, even when he goes to the hallucination of “I should manage Barca or Madrid”, nobody has him committed to some sort of brainless football people’s asylum, as one thinks they should!
Stuart Pierce has had the rein of the under 21 for years now, but our genius English coach has led the greatly talented under 21 to oblivion, yet nobody gets on his case. Arry´s huge achievement was to make Spurs 4th after spending bundles that will bring Spurs close to ruin with massive spendings (as he did with Southampton and Pompey), then back down again to 5th, yet nobody seems to be on his case, they even praise him for doing great!
After all, god gave them Arsene Wenger! French, intellectual, educated; you know, the worst type to tolerate!
So every day is Arsenal this, Arsenal that, all leaving, garage sale, all unhappy, Fabregas for 27 M (!!!), RVP leaving! (within the past few hours they now are picking on Arshavin!
They have done this for years and years, each year discounting Arsenal “on paper”, and considering the team finished and gone, yet this is the only team that has made it past the group stages of the CL for 11-12 years in a raw, on budgets often smaller than those of Sunderland’s! (eat your heart out).
To Arsenal fans and friends, just ignore these low-lives and their printing of their own nose leakage.
The only thing that we need to worry about is “In Arsene we trust”, even as a big admirer of this exceptional manager, I am concerned he has become a little too naive and stubborn, so I hope he brings THAT to an end this summer!
Will , that’s all papers have nowadays, all News is broken long before they go to print and all they have is speculation. I bet if you looked at the main journalists/ radio presenters etc only a couple would have an affinity to The Arsenal the rest would have an agenda against us.
Oh and Will it happened long before your supposed Man Utd challenge, I remember all of this when when I was a kid , my father worked at Wembley in the ticket office and I often got into games, I spent time in the press box watching the journo’s of the time getting pissed and then read their reports the next day. They had little good to say about The Arsenal then and that was the 1960’s.
Will – You ask why there’s so much focus and speculation on our captain wanting to leave. You might get a clue if you had read my previous post ( above at 10.44 ).
The board and Wenger’s handling of the situation is appalling. Cesc has a few years left on his contract. There’s was / is no need or rush, for us to sell him to anybody. He’s legally bound to us until it expires, or the club let him go early. If we had shown REAL INTENT and ambition over the past few seasons, and fulfilled the promises of silverware that were made to him, Cesc would probably have stayed. Also, Wenger should have been much tougher.before it got to this stage. He should have firmly told Barca and anyone else, that Cesc’s an Arsenal player, and not for sale. No discussion. And report them for “tapping up” if they persisted.
If Cesc now wants to go, ( because he’s sick of the failures of the team and it’s management ), then Wenger should have set a deadline for his agent to negotiate a deal. He didn’t. These are the reasons this has dragged on so long. It’s become a fiasco.
There’s no media conspiracy against Arsenal. We bring attention ON OURSELVES, due to our poor man management and P.R. If we had delivered on Wenger’s fantasies (er, promises) of success, do you think they would still be bothering ?
“In Arsene we rust.”
Spectrum, so the annual Vieira leaving was? And the annual Henry leaving was?
Potter: I honestly believe that most of the journo’s don’t watch the game.
You are all over reacting to unsubstantiated rumours and gossip. Spectrum claims Fabragas was “lied” to by Wenger (that Wenger told Cesc last summer that big players would be signed). Really Spectrum? Based on what? Last years gossip and unsubstantiated reports? Or are you just making that up on the spot? There is simply no way you could know what was said between Wenger and Fabragas last summer beyond the few quotes each of them provided afterwards. If anyone is *lying* here, I’d say it’s you for making that up. at the very leaast, shame on you for adding more crap to the gossip vortex.
Here’s a tip: if the report you are reading doesnt provide direct quotes and site it’s sources, then its probably just made up. If it does contain direct quotes, then it still might be fabricated, especially if it a Spanish newspaper. After applying that filter, as of now (despite all the reports): Van Persie is not leaving, Fabragas is not leaving, Nasri is probably not leaving, and Clichy may not be leaving either. If either Cesc or Nasri leave, it will only be for HUGE sums of money. It’s all as simple as that.

Thank you Doc.
Can a mod remove the double post? Sorry about that. iPad autocorrect lead to “roomers” instead of “rumors” but I thought I caught it before the first post went live.
If no one leaves, have they right conditions for staying in the squad? Or, at the first bad score, everybody will be prepare for next challehenge or give up?
However, if is it true RVP wants to leave too (more Bendtner, Denilson, Arswavin…), the “problem” maybe not in the players but in AW.
I wouldn’t even use the Star to pick up my dog’s 5hit. Unbelievable amount of AFC-hating/bating c**ts in the media.
Careful, Joaquim. A.W. can do no wrong on here. You are more tuned in than most, I’ll say that !
“In Arsene we rust.”
Spectrum, what you accuse us of, you are as bad but at the other end, you dislike Wenger intently. What’s the difference between us?
Also, I think you will find that Wenger gets slagged on here more than enough but how many of the other top managers could do what Wenger has done?
Spectrum, If you think aw can do no wrong on here you have absolutely no idea what your talking about fella….! If you wanna come on here then have the decency to go check out the stick wengers has received from posts on here in the past. He is in my opinion on his last legs and at present not looking like its gonna be a very good summer but we’ll see. If you think Usmanov is gonna get control your delusional we’re unfortunately stuck with this current lot for a while yet.
Steady on Spectrum, we are not daft on here, we know that AW has mucked up over the years, we are just hoping he finally puts it right this summer…
As Will said, he gets critisised here a lot and rightly so imho but until the window shuts, we have hope..
Afternoon peoples….
Doc Brody – Perhaps you can use your medical expertise to diagnose this ? http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/868094-samir-nasri-to-tell-arsenal-i-want-to-leave
and this ? http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/868099-andrey-arshavin-next-to-depart-in-arsenal-exodus-as-turks-line-up-bid
I’m only a layman, but it sounds like a case of chronic promise fatigue to me!
“In Arsene we rust.”
European sport press:
a) Arsenal, Man City and United try to ensure Nasri
The two Manchester clubs are interested in securing the signing of Samir Nasri average from Arsenal.
According to British media, Manchester United will present in coming days, a proposal valued at about 22 million to persuade Arsenal to give up Nasri.
At the same time, officials of the City also seeks to guarantee the request of coach Roberto Mancini and ensure the medium.
Arsenal seeks to try to renew the contract and offered 100,000 euros a week, but Manchester United went up and will have advanced to 121 000. The City went further and be willing to pay roughly 200 thousand euros.
b) Van Persie can leave Arsenal
Robin Van Persie is considering Arsenal exit the market already there. Have a desire shared by Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy.
According to the Daily Star, Van Persie will meet with Arsene Wenger and Fabregas if the output is not addressed, the Dutch forward is not intended to remain at the club.
Hi JM, i think that has just been picked up from the article in the Daily Star…
W. A. T. H., Rico, e.t.c. – You’re not those I’m referring to. My comments were directed only at the A.K.B.’S. I would have thought that was evident. No offence.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Hi WATH, I didn’t you sneak in 😆
Bet Wengers comments have made your day, he needs to wake up….
No probs Spectrum, i’m with WATH, last summer for wenger then he can go if he doesn’t sort our squad out once and for all….
Will – ( quote ) ; “but how many of the other top managers could do what Wenger has done?” The classic A.K.B. question. Even if you may not necessarily be one yourself.
My answer ; Quite a few. As far as being unbeaten is concerned, Andre Vilas – Boas formerly of Porto, achieved this just last season. Which is why Chelsea snapped him up. He has ambition and a winners mentality. He’s also young and enthusiastic, which helps.
But as much as Wenger has done for us in the past, that’s basically the problem. It’s the PAST. What we should be asking is What has he done recently ? And what is he doing NOW ? Why can’t you deal with the present and future, and leave the time warp you’re stuck in ? It’s apparent that Wenger in latter seasons, is in decline. His best is behind him. It’s time to acknowledge what he’s done, say “thanks”, and move on. The longer he stays, the more he tarnishes his legacy.
He and the A.K.B.’s can’t live off past glories forever. If he stays for another five years ( heaven forbid ) and wins nothing, will you still consider him to be as successful then ?
“In Arsene we rust.”
rico, probably yes, but everybody and teams now know this. For instance: Aguero probably goes to R. Madrid and A. Madrid can make a offer to RVP…
Argentina was very poor yesterday.
Do we have any player in the world Cup u-17? England is in ther quarter-finals.
Spectrum, when you say aw can do no wrong on here that seems to refer to here being HH and the posters…! You’ll find very few AKB’s on here as they tend to vanish when any valid points are thrown in their direction…!. For me Sep 1st is the tell tale and there is noway aw getting fired and as I have said for weeks now its not about who leaves but about who he vrings in and if its kids kids and more kids then he would of ruined everything he did for the club since he first joined…!
I suppose EVERY paper in Europe lies, do they ? Come on. Some at least do publish some actual truth. To believe otherwise would make you paranoid. So when quite a few say similar things, there must be something to it all. As the saying goes ; “There’s no smoke without fire.”
“In Arsene we rust.”
Im with spectrum on this one.Wenger needs to go.
Andre Vilas – Boas was managing in the Premiership last season? We went against teams who have limitless transfer funds and let’s be honest, a team that can do very little wrong in the ref’s eyes.
And please don’t tell me that a manager who wins at Chelsea is the same as one who wins at Arsenal.
for wenger to say he’s not in a rush is a piss take to be honest Rico, we said weeks ago, show some intent and ambition, get Cahill and Ashley Young signed and sealed ASAP and yet here we are with nothing…! As Spectrum says if our better players see wenger buying other quality players there is no need to move anywhere but whilst we stagnate our better players and gonna be looking to move on…!
Rico – Many on here, and other blogs were saying “give him one more season.” Yet here we are one year on, and they’re saying it AGAIN. When do you draw the line on this guy ? He should have gone two seasons ago. “Judge me in May.” he said. Canny bugger didn’t say which May, though.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Last year we had signed Chamakh and Kosc till July 1st. And they both performed well. And we all know about Squillaci.
I’m quite dissapointed we haven’t bought anyone this summer.Even gervinho doesn’t look a huge improvement to me.
Here are some of the most memorable Arsenal matches:
http://delhigunner.wordpress.com/2011/07/01/most-memorable-arsenal-matches/
W.A.T.H. @12;11 – So what would get you disenchanted enough to demand Wenger’s sacking or resignation ? Is there ANYTHING he could do, or wouldn’t do, to justify that, in your eyes ?
Same question for all the others with similar sympathies.
“In Arsene we rust.”
😉 JM, but A Madrid are no better than us….
WATH, he’s be taking the piss for a while, how many transfer windows has he said he’d do x,y and z – but does nothing…. My only hope for this summer is that Stan hoofs him up the jacksie….
We should have got Cahill before the Chavs got their new manager, you watch him build his side now, and at great speed i bet….
Thanks for dropping in and leaving your website details shub…..
I’m giving him this summer because of the takeover and his comments about buying and the fact the new finance rules come in next year – not that that will affect Wenger 😉
I suppose EVERY paper in Europe lies, do they ?
Unfortuneately Spectrum in some ways they do. It’s a game of Chinese whispers , a story will be published having been dropped on to a paper in Spain , it will be seen by journo’s in England altered slightly to make their point , picked up by radio altered again and then blogs get on to it and change it again. Eventually it then gets back to Soain and bears no relation to the original erroneous story. Having of course been stated so many times it now becomes fact. It has become the way of the world since electric media took the news away from them.
Will – No, you misunderstood. Vilas – Boas was with Porto last season. And what’s wrong with signing a winner as a coach ? Shouldn’t that be what we’re aiming for ? The fans, anyway, if not the board and manager.
The trouble is many of you have been conditioned into accepting mediocrity and underachievement. Usmanov wants to energise the club. If enough fans got angry, he might be motivated to up the ante. I hope he, or someone like him, finds a way to bring in change. By the way – what has Kroenke done since taking over ? Have you seen anything changing much ? I rest my case.
“In Arsene we rust.”
And that is exactly what The Daily Star have started today Potter, and we know as the story gets repeated it gets glorified..
Same can be said about the Cesc, Nasri and Clichy stories….
Now where and when is Nikki B going 😉
My only hope for this summer is that Stan hoofs him up the jacksie….
Not his way apparently , he appoints his menials and then sits back and lets them get on with it. He will not interfere , any pressure on Wenger will have to come from Gazidis and that’s unlikely to happen until the financial balance shifts into debit.
Spectrum, seriously? How the hell do you know he will be able to cut it in the Premiership?
Let’s get a manager from a league below ours who has won and we shall call him Jehovah.
Chelsea win simply because of money, even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Spectrum
You make a lot of assumptions about people here and no matter what you think, everyone has a right to their own opinion.
What do you know about the Russian, how do you know he would come in and change things?? I’m not sure you do, no one apart from him knows what he would do and in any case, we are stuck with what we have right now…
As for Stan, like i keep trying to say, the transfer window has not long been open, we don’t know what he has planned but one thing he has done, is get us to Asia at last, despite Wenger admitting he was against it…..
Potter – i listened to an i/v a while back about Stan, all those speaking about him said he ‘doesn’t do losing’ (or similar), that’s why i hope he hoofs wenger up the jacksie, if gets ivan to do it on his behalf, thats fine by me 😉
Agree Will, Vilas Boas may have been a great manager at Porto but this is the PL, it’s a lot different… And, the Chavs aren’t very patient are they…..
Let’s say Vilas Boas comes second three times in a row and makes a couple of finals while losing £100M a season, does that mean Wenger is better?
Spectrum: it’s not about defending Wenger. There are many good arguments for why he should go. The problem I have is when people like you start making stuff up about Wenger. Like your claim that he “lied” to Fabragas. Your just adding to the circus.
The article we are all commenting under is about Van Persie leaving. It characterizes this rumor as “utter garbage” – and I completely agree. In fact the subtext of the whole piece is about the media circus this time of year.
I think it’s an excellent post. Blasting Wenger in the comments with more unfounded gossip is missing the whole point of the original piece. So is defending Wenger with more unfounded rumor and speculation. I really don’t care what side people take, I just think the even headed readers should take them to task – which I’ve tried to do with respect too your specific claim that Wenger lied to Fabragas last year.
Spectrum, In all honesty mate i lost faith in him 2 years ago but the board will not sack him he makes them to much money, will stan settle for outside of the top 4… It’s not a question of when will I demand him to resign or be sacked mate its a question of when will the natives en mass demand this and only when that happens will the board maybe take any notice….! I want the old wenger back that used to manage a football team I dont want the accounts manager that he has turned into..!
Will, that’s totally hypothetical. Vilas -Boas wouldn’t be given 100 million by this board, or be allowed to spend it even if he had it. You know that. More likely he might lose 20 million. We could easily afford to lose that. But then at worst, he would only have achieved what Wenger said he’d be happy doing – finishing second. And we could well WIN the league with a more savvy manager at the helm. So what have we got to lose, then ?
“In Arsene we rust.”
Doc Brody – good comment..
We can all speculate as to what was siad to Cesc, we can all speculate what was said to Henry to keep him. We have all suggested the only reason both of the two players were given the armband was to keep them..
Reality is, unless anyone in the blog world works for afc and is privilaged to any such information it is all speculation…
Just like the atricle in the Daily Star…..
Everything else is just our opinions…
Spectrum,
I have a feeling he will spend big bucks, maybe not 100million, but i bet by the time the window closes it’s not far off….
So I am being hypothetical but you are not with some of your wild statements of fact?
W.A.T.H. – Agreed. I want the old Wenger back. But it’s just not going to happen. As I said, he’s in decline. His judgement is poor, he’s obsessed with doing things his way. He’s tactically naive. Has too much power and influence at the club. Won’t listen to others opinions. Fails to strengthen the team when and where necessary, and a hundred other things. Yet the A.K.B.’s still think he’ll come good “one day”. But they never seem to tell us when they expect that to be.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Spectrum, may I suggest you go support Man City or Chelsea if you like Championship Manager tactics.
Rico – I very much doubt it, even though he absolutely needs to do so. But it’s one thing to spend, but will it be on the RIGHT players ? There’s talk he MAY, repeat MAY, be interested in John O’Shea. Is this the type of player we want ? Why not just pay the 17 million needed to get Cahill ? He has the funds, or will have, after Cesc and maybe Nasri go. Wenger himself hinted that he will spend big this window, but talk is cheap, and it’s just likely to be more spin.
“In Arsene we rust.”
Time will tell re Vilas-Boas..
As for the link to O’shea, I believe that as much as i do the RvP story – like i suggest, just see what happens in this window…
Will no need for that comment to Spectrum mate if you dont agree fine but lets not go down the route of telling ppl to go support someone else please…!
Spectrum, I dont give a flying what the AKB’s think or say, I think it purely comes down to the fact we have a gutless board noone to steer the ship and a manager who is now accountable to noone…! I doubt things will change but would sacking wenger at this moment help I also doubt it as the board will still be the same with a new manager…?!?! cut our nose to spite our face that would be…!
I am sorry but he is annoying in the extreme.
Who else could challenge teams who have UNLIMITED transfer budgets and are able to LOSE £100 million a year? Create a training centre second to know that national teams fight over, a stadium that he has a huge hand in designing all the while maintaining a top 4 position?
I will let you all google manager names that could do that.
No point Will, we are stuck with what we have right now 😉
Going on from that though Will, top 4 is not good enough for a club like ours…
Why, we spent years fighting for top 10 and yes I want to win but I am also old enough to know that only one team can win. As long as we are challenging, I am ok.
This is what we were discussing on one of the blogs exactly a year ago this month…… ( July 29th 2010. http://arsenalaction.com/2010/07/28/wenger-hints-no-more-signing/ Strangely enough, the post I made back then, applies just as much now. And this time next season ? Anyone see a pattern developing here ?
“In Arsene we rust.”
Will I agree what your saying but I think what Spectrum is also saying is that wenger has had funds to spend and has chosen not to because of his ego in trying to make project youth work. There is a huge difference between us spending 100million on two players and the 50million we needed to spend on 3 quality players the last few seasons who would possibly have put us in a position to actually win things… why were they not bought purely down to wengers ego and stubborness and I think we all agree on that..!
But are we really challenging or just surviving in the top four?
Will I agree what your saying but I think what Spectrum is also saying is that wenger has had funds to spend and has chosen not to because of his ego in trying to make project youth work.
And we know that how? Maybe the board were lying and we have nothing as they have been paying the debt off?
Will, you’re living in the past again. Always a good fallback position when you don’t have a decent argument to put up.
“In Arsene we rust.”
rico says:
July 2, 2011 at 3:46 pm
But are we really challenging or just surviving in the top four?
That is the best question and point of the day.
I am living in the past? Ok but I am not taking comments from rag media and believing it.
Wanna buy a car? One careful lady owner.
rico, AM no, but Benfica is, Porto, is, sporting is, PSG is, Bayern Munchen is, etc. Teams who fight for win titles.
Can someone tell me what was the position of Arsenal in the League at the end of the 1st round (end of December more or less), since we were not champions?
I wrote once that the biggest problem with AW is not Arsenal, not money, not hiring but not knowing how to live with the success of their neighbors: first Chelsea and now chelsea + spuddies. Those who have money covers this problem in another way.
Yes Cahill should go to Chelsea …
Hi wath/will.i really hope we get the old ‘Arsene who’ back.im sure he is in there somewhere.if he doesn’t come back this season we’ll end up potless again and that will surely be the end of him.he is tarnishing his own legacy right now and it would be truly sad if things were to end on a sour note after all the revolution he has brought us.we need signings now considering our PL start and CL qualifiers.we need to be proactive not reactive in the market.
Question. Do we have a divine right to with the title?
Well i think we are just surviving and next season those who finished above us and just below us in the league will be much stronger.
If AW doesn’t do what he needs to be doing this window, i’ll be very surprised to see us in the top four next season….
And if that happens, we can have a pop but we are The Arsenal, not Tottenham.
JM, RvP won’t leave us, he owes us…..
No team has the divine right to win anything but it would be a lot more satisfying for fans to watch a team fight week in week and try to win it….
I agree but all this, we have won nothing is just a stick for the media to hit us with and sadly, some of us are hitting ourselves with it. The media are winning, bravo.
We can have a pop now Will, things aren’t right at the top. Why has Nasri been allowed to get to this stage in his contract, Same with Clichy?
Why did we not sign a defender in january when we needed one, and after wenger saying he would
Why did we have to suffer watching Fabianski and Almunia make mistake after mistake in matches…
There are plenty of reasons to have a pop….
The media aren’t winning, it’s reality, we haven’t won anything since 2005 – that’s one of the few facts around today 😉
That doesn’t make me very happy as a fan, not when we all know just a couple of better players each summer would change that….
Agreed but that is in the past and I was told I am living in the past so I am making a concious effort to live in the now and the future.
Kt, what is this Victor Sanchez guy like??
Rico, were you a fan in the mid 70’s? You would have been suicidal.
This is what we were discussing this time last year ( July 28th 2010 ). http://arsenalaction.com/2010/07/28/wenger-hints-no-more-signing/ I posted a comment then, which is just as relevant now. As was the issues being discussed.
This turned out to be prophetic : ” And what if Vermaelen picks up an Injury during the season?? ”
“In Arsene we rust.”
Well, we will have to wait and see what happens in this transfer window but Wengers earlier comment about signings doesn’t fill me with confidence…..
We shall see.
Will the problem is the board had no reason to pay off debt and even with what they paid off there was funds for wenger even the books told us that…! they have lined their pockets for sure and used a lot of money that could of been extra for players BUT wenger still had money so we know he aint spent it cos he chose not to cos he was in his project youth mode…!
I was Will, that was different back then – what we have just witnessed since 1996 is a man join our club and turned us into winners, that same man has buried his head in the sand and let us drift for the last five seasons…
Personally, i find this worse as it’s down to one man’s refusal to spend… I want the 1996 – 2004 Wenger back…
if anyone can tell me what was the position of Arsenal in the League at the end of the 1st round (end of December more or less), since we were not champions, I thanked.
Will, it will depends.
For the moment, and with the news media for one side, and the performance over the last two months of the League for other side and beyond, it seems to me that the first challenge is to not already be eliminated from the Champions League 2 – Try to reach the group stage and go as far as possible in this competition and if possible, win it 3 – try to reach the final of the League Cup and FA Cup and possibly win them; 4 – in the League, not be relegate; 5 – the 2nd goal in the league, trying to secure a place in European competitions; 6 – Assured the place in European competition to think about going to get aplace in the Champions League for next season, 7 – Winning the League.
Note: they are not in priority order
Will you can’t compare the 70’s n 80’s with now, we didnt pay a tenner in those days we paid a quid…. we got what we paid for no expectations no mega signings no multi million pound business turning over 3 million a home game. We are not really competeing at the moment and who’s fault is that……? wenger, if he bought 3/4 players we would be competative and then your 100% correct can only be one winner but lets at least give the winner a run for their money and not keep loosing out bottle sixe weeks b4 the end of every season.
JM, thats a lot of research to be done there 😉
Players didn’t cost £20M either Wath for a basic squad player.
The club didn’t make as much on ST’s, food, clothing, tickets etc etc back then though – players cost has gone up but everything else has moved with it…
A basic squad player dont cost 20mil Will come on…. and you know exactly what I am getting at…! we didnt pay the highest prices in the 70’s n 80’s or get made promises of trophies etc etc we turned up watched our team who were pretty dire for many of those years and our highlight would be a decent cup run or beating the yids…!
From what I have read on here, Nasri is a run of the mill squad player, only giving a quarter of a season in three seasons and we want £20M for him.
Now your being silly Will……….. run of the mill squad player would be denilson etc etc and you’d be lucky to get 5mil for him…..!
It’s about opinions yet again some ppl think Nasri is overrated some don’t and some react by calling him shit cos he dare want to leave us…!
Sorry Spectrum your last 2 posts went into Spam for some reason and you didnt even use the “C” word…! they on now…!
The Victor Sanchez i know has been released by barca after showing no considerable progress during his loan spells.i don’t know much about him beyond that.considerable progress during his loan spells.i don’t know much about him beyond that.
ok rico. It will be interesting. I’m gonna to try by other way.
Will, Times have changed.
Looking at the world scene, the transfer market has not soared. There are two factors (players) that will cause: Fabregas and Aguero. Enter them, probably the major movements of money that clubs going after buyers (RM-Barcelona) to vendors (Arsenal-A.Madrid), will cause the boiling style “domino effect” in the rest of the market. In general, things work well: 2 large closed for business (with large numbers …) and 4 or 5 medium sized businesses (Falcao, Nasri, Coentrão …). except that in addition to these only that, some years there is another, from the outside, which subverts the whole market. The outbreak of the money from another universe in football was born in 2003, with Abramovich and continues now in the Arab and Asian wealth, which invade European clubs, particularly English.
My take on Nasri for what it’s worth is that he is a very skillful player and can be brilliant when he wants to BUT 2 seasons running now when cesc went awol and got injured we expected him to step up to the plate and carry the team and show us exactly how good he is and yet he went into his shell, If we got 20mil for him i reckon thats a bloody good price for a player not yet convincing that he is a great player.
How old is Nasri?
My stance on nasri is clear.he has talent of a worldclass player.he however has not shown that ability consistently and tends to disappear quite often.a manager like red nose is very strict and would push him to the limit to ensure he achieves his potential.most of our players view Arsene as a father figure and therein lies the problem.they are protected by him in their own little bubble where they hide as Wenger takes the bullets for their poor perfomances.i think thats where nasri is and a manager like red nose will ensure he performs or he is out.for that reason id rather if he left us he goes abroad.
24 I think Will…….?!?!?! don’t shoot me if I am wrong but around that age..!
Thanks Kt, i read that story and wondered if AW would be after another freebie….
Got to pop off for a bit, back shortly….
Be interesting to see what happens when Nasri gets back to see wenger on monday if he puts in a trasnfer request he loses 10% of the fee…!
I don’t think he will WATH, i reckon they will up his wages… I thought it was Tuesday they were all back…
Wonder if Fabregas will return….
Sorry Rico am jumping the gun and quoting paper talk saying he back monday to meet with wenger before training on tuesday.
Seems to me if what wenger is quoted as saying is true re Nas they will really try and keep him BUT he seems resigned to loosing cesc n clichy…!
I’m not fussed re Cesc and Clichy WATH, Cesc has wanted to go for so long now, its about time he went…
I didn’t see that about Monday, oops, i need to keep up 😉
You reckon we might get Baines??
I’d try and get that kraut I mentioned the other week, schmelzer from Dortmund…! very very good…
Who would cost the most?
Sky Sports report that the tabloids will be reporting the RvP story tomorrow…
ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz –
Now your sounding like wenger asking who will cost the most…….. no idea…..! RVP is the kind of fella to actually come out on monday though and say what utter rubbish it is………. IF he stays silent then I would be a little worried…!
Ditto re Robin WATH, if it wasn’t the weekend i am sure he would have said something by now…
i metioned the cost exactly because wenger will go for the cheapest… .
r u part of his accounting group… 😛
Cheeky 😉
Sadly, that has what he has done, if there are two players up for sale in the same position, we all know he’ll go for the cheaper…
Ur prob right, and on that note I bid you a fond farewell for the evening the pub calls…..! chat 2moro and lets hope for a bit of good news although I doubt it very much 😉
Have a good night WATH 🙂
You should know better, what is good news when it comes to Arsenal… 😉
Bellerin has said he has joined us because he was promised 1st team opportunities and he is 16.Gervinho said more or less the same.we have become a stepping stone club since once we mold them they’ll leave us.we have become an Ajax and its very sad.
First team Kt, at 16 years old, i doubt it very much, CC squad yes but first team…. He may have been promised that but i bet Wenger didn’t tell him in which year 😉
If Rvp was to leave that would cause riots.no way would we entertain it.
Sid lowe is claiming denilson is in talks with villareal.
Kt, RvP is going nowhere, you wait and see, he’ll soon speak after the paps all run the departure story tomorrow….
Sid Lowe, could be my favourite reporter if he’s right….. 😉
Im starting to believe there is a conspiracy against us.the journos are linking all our good players away.
Hope you don’t mean denilson Kt 😉
Of course not rico.i said GOOD players not our shite players.
I was jesting Kt…. 😉
If the season starts next Monday. all the players must return even those probably out siad by the media
news:
Galatasaray and ofert for Arshavin
The ‘giant’ Ottoman tries to convince the Russian, who has run out of steam and credit in recent years for Arsenal.
It was one of the signings of recent stellar seasons in the Premier League and when he came, Arsenal seemed to have been one of the great players of the moment. However, imbalances, speed, race and daring at the time to address, was declining as they advanced their days at the Emirates Stadium. Now, Andrey Arshavin goes through a moment of doubt where I could leave for a last attempt to take his sign and thus could end up in Turkey.
And is that Galatasaray has been launched with a magnificent and extremely motivating the Russian offer as it would have offered 16 million euros to Arsenal. A figure for the time the player passes through gray, much easier Gunners some ideas about what to do with former Zenit.
The intent of Table Ottoman exclusively concern Arsenal win approval, and thereafter, take out the checkbook to cover euros a lefty. The offer gets in trouble with the Directive because Arshavin London contract ends in 2012 and, therefore, if you prefer not to sell this summer, would be almost impossible to get return on their progress in twelve months, since they are free and return to their country, where many see him soon because of their reduced minutes with Wenger.
Hi JM, could be an interesting week as the players return….
Guys, i am done for the day, catch you all tomorrow – be good, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day…
Nighty….
Ricky Alvarez is going to inter.
That it’s true?
Arsenal latin-american fans said wilson severino in Arsenal ..
Have we signed anyone?
Morning Will – no 😉
New Post up now…
