Right time for Usmanov? Rooney or Michu & Midfielder quits….

Morning all,

So what’s in the news..

Well we all know that Sky Sports have frozen all bets on Arsenal signing Cesar don’t we. Not sure if that relates to the QPR goalkeeper or the new ranger of Waitrose salad dressing. After all, it is now summer here in the UK…

One Brazilian we won’t be seeing any more of is Denislon. The club and player have reached some kind of agreement and his contract has been cancelled.  Good, there are a few others that could easily follow suit!

Apparently, if we can’t get Wayne Rooney, Wenger is considering a swoop for Swansea’s Michu. I know which one I’d prefer.

Then of course we had the surprising news which broke yesterday about Jose Mourinho – he’s returned to Chelsea because that’s where he feels loved!! Wtf is that all about? Those players who loved him are on the verge of retiring.

Ah, but he’ll be given £100 million to buy a whole new bunch of loveable ones….

From London to Manchester and it’s all going on up there too. Moyes has cast aside all of the Fergie old boys and he’s bring in coaching staff of his own. Good, that should ruin all that was good. He’ll need more than a referee and an out of time watch to have a great season. Rumour is that the old badger (RvP for those who wonder) is pretty cheesed off about Fergie retiring. He didn’t go there to play for a ‘let’s get top six manager’)

Tough eh!!

Then there is news from Wolves, their owners have appointed Kenny Jackett as their new manager, apparently the owners/chairman think that finally, they have found their ‘special one’.

No, I don’t know why either….

So back to Chelsea and Manchester City. They are the two ‘main’ big spenders. Both are owned by people/group who have more money than Lee they know what to with, so they bought a football club.

Roman Abramovich is currently the 5th richest person in Russia and the 50th richest person in the world, according to the 2012 Forbes list. He made his move on the London club back in 2003. The man is no saint, he’s been in trouble with the law over a few things. Shares, theft, blackmail – jeez, he’s been accused of it all but it doesn’t mean he’s guilty does it?

I don’t agree with all of what he has done since he bought Chelsea, but no-one can deny he’s a winner. 2nd place in any competition has never been enough for him. Di Matteo would say that 1st wasn’t either, after picking up the Champions League trophy last season but this man wants it all. He wants beautiful football and trophies and doesn’t care who he crushes along the way!

So, after trialling 20 odd managers since he sacked Jose,  he’s brought back the man who he believes will deliver that one more time…

Then with have the Abu Dhabi United Group up in Manchester. They inherited Mark Hughes but soon showed him the door in favour of Roberto Mancini.

He did what all kids do, he went off to the sweet shop, bought every new flavoured sweet that was on sale. But he ended up with too many bonbons and not enough hard boiled fruities…..

He won the Premier League and the FA Cup, but he fluffed the European lines big time. He didn’t pay enough attention to younger home grown players either.

He was sacked.

So now talks are taking place about another ex Spanish League manager coming to the Premier League. No doubt he will spend a vast amount of money to make Man City, ‘Spanish’….

Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea in the summer of 2003.

In the summer of 2008, the Abu Dhabi United Group took ownership of Manchester City.

My point?

Well, we as a club sit with two major shareholders. One who is believed to be a hoarder of cash, the other, well he has money beyond most of our wildest dreams.

He is forever present at The Emirates according to reports and he’s already purchased many posh boxes in the stadium. He’s knocked them into one huge box which caters for him and all his family and friends. He wants Arsenal FC!!

We read many a story about how he’s ready to make his move……..

Summer is the best time surely, especially a few weeks before the transfer window opens?

Will this one see Alisher Usmanov finally put his money where his mouth is and make Stan Kroenke an offer which cannot be refused?

If he does, all this season ticket spin would go out the window!

That’s it for another day, have a good one…..

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Nice article Rico. a good summary of the many ideas that the majority of us are going through right now.

100million to spend on lovable players????

    Gorschhhhhhhhh!!!!.

I did not know players had a lovable lie in or sleep overs with the coach to cement their places in the squad.

That must explain the reason why Diaby has been like a new signing for about 15 times.

And we wonder why so many of our players like the sick bed.

  2. leegooner says:

good post @rico, i personally feel for one RVP it is a career gone wrong. I believe that in his move he never for once imagined being managed by Moyes. Morale will be hard to come by @unuted……watch this space……..!!

  3. rico says:

I’m sure Jose will spend spend spend, just like he always did…

Who cares, we have money, so let’s get on and spend it on the right players once and for all.

Really glad Denilson’s contact is ripped up, now for Nik B, Chamakh, Park etc etc….

  4. Jay says:

Morning All ,yes good post I would love to see Usmanov finally get his place on the board. The sooner we get rid of the guy with the ridiculous wig the better. If he wants to throw money at the club let him do it ,it must be better than another 8 years of purgatory. As for the mooted signing of Michu I cant see that that would give us anything more than we already have.

  5. devilgunner says:

Rico….the situation between Pursie and Moyes is similiar to the one that Cesc faced after a season at Barca. He went there to be coached by Pep. The latter left after a season and Cesc did not find favour with Tito Villanova being used only when the need arose.

  6. rico says:

Hi Jay, I’d like to see Usmanov in too, with one or two true Arsenal men on the board… People who care and want to see us back up at the top…

  7. rico says:

Thanks Gavin, I would if I could 😉

It is Devil, and I love it. Once they leave us, I hope they fail, of course there are a few exceptions to that rule, but generally…..

  8. devilgunner says:

If you want a good model……..look no further than the Bayern board. Full of ex players who were top stars at the club itself. Players who bled for the club. And who always want to win.

  9. devilgunner says:

Arsenal have reportedly begun talks with Queens Park Rangers over the capture of goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

The Gunners have been touted as a possible destination for the former Inter Milan shot-stopper, who has expressed a desire to stay in London.

It is believed that Arsenal are willing to match Cesar’s wages, which are believed to be £80,000 a week, on a two-year contract with the option of a third, but the Gunners are unwilling to offer more than £1m to QPR, according to Goal.com.

The R’s are thought to be open to selling Cesar in order to alleviate their heavy wage bill.

  10. rico says:

Exactly Devil, that’s what we as a club need, not people who are totally detached from Arsenal…

    Goal.com are really unreliable though….

  11. Jay says:

Rico ,Bob Wilsons name has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Hill Wood .Do you think that would improve things ?Wilson is reportedly close to Wenger ,and the guy is a real Arsenal man

  12. Lee says:

“That procrastinating old yankee fuck will never sell to mother Russia !!!” hahahahaha very good Danish.

  13. sunnypa de gooners says:

they should pls sale it for him his the one that will make our lovely club be a winning club and champions of europe.with corent kroenke arsenal can never won any thing.for these they should let big usmanov take incharge of our club if they wish the club to suceed in england.we arsenal football club fans love our club hoheartedly pls arsenal board should pls let big usmanov take the club to higher place.thanks

  14. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, Bayern can also only be owned by people who have been a club member for over 10 years.
    Not a bad idea…

  15. tsgh says:

    A very fine post Rico…

I must admit half way down the post I was wondering how you and Adam have verysimilar views 😉 A fine post indeed…

  16. devilgunner says:

Of course they have similiar views Ginge. You could see Adam nearly falling over himself to get in the first comment and praise. 😉

  17. tsgh says:

Hi Dev and Scott, for commercial reasons only yes FC Munchen… and I think that is what our French/German has attempted to introduce at the club… on the other hand Munchen even have a hockey team in addition to 20 or so other sporting franchises they own

But BVB 09 is still the most supported club… and maybe we are more like them than the Bavarians in terms of selling whenever a bigger boy comes knocking. I believe we are heading into the right direction which will see us compete for a long time so far as the traditional fans are patient and don’t let the likes of Durham influence their steadfastness…

  18. tsgh says:

Hi Esp… is Navas really better than Sinclair though? Judging from $hitty’s purchase, the young English boy has no future… He is the type of winger we need

His figures are less than Gervs figures… the argument maybe that he plays for a smaller team like Seville….

  19. Bidex says:

I tink it d best tym usmanov is given d ride on seat coz failing 2 spend big dis season wil b a disaster 2 arsenal fans coz dey r anxious 2 c dose big name sign up.

  20. Scott from Oz says:

Australia v Japan has just started.
Each time i have seen him, Honda has been 3 times better than Kagawa.

  21. eastsidepaul says:

I guess we’ll find out this season tsgh, I don’t like the idea of city having a manager that could put an actual team together, much preferred when Mancini was there throwing a bunch of “superstars” into a starting line up and wondering why it didn’t work as often as it should.

Don’t get me wrong, he was successful with city, a league title and a FA cup, huge stuff for a team that 15 years ago where in the old DIV 2. But the money that has gone into that team in the last few years, should guarantee success every year, without exception.

Now I feel they have a manager who can put an actual team together and I think will win their second title this year. 1st.

As for Chelsea, they will push city close. With Mourinho and money to spend, why would we think it would be any different than what it was like before he left? Chelsea will win things, and will do so for many more years under Mourinho. I think they finish 2nd. Close behind City.

United are an uncertainty, loss of their leader who never accepted a runners up spot, now with Moyes in charge, I have no idea how they will react. I don’t think anyone does. What I do know is that he will strengthen an already strong squad. They will not be push overs. I think they will finish 3rd.

That leaves that 4th place trophy to play for once again.

    Unless…..

Wenger does what he hasn’t done, makes huge changes to the squad, clear out the dross, and replaces them with quality players. And not Wenger quality players, actual quality. Big names, who will hit the ground running and make a difference this year. 70m… thats just a start. We are backed by one of the worlds richest man, a man whose wealth exceeds that of Abramovich. So let him flex some of that financial muscle.

To be successful this year Wenger needs to change his ways, not just his transfer policies, but also his coaching and in game tactics.
Subs need to be made WHEN they need to be made, not only after 60 or 70 minutes, if a player is not having a good day, he needs to be off at half-time or before. Now I am not claiming to have the slightest notion as to how coaching is done at the club, but from what I have heard, I think it fair to say Wenger has more than an influence on how each aspect of the coaching is undertaken. That needs to stop, coaches are brought in to do a job, a job they are qualified to do, such as Bould and the defence. Wenger needs to concentrate on the managerial aspect. He needs to relinquish some control.

We also need someone like Dein back, take another job off Wenger’s hands, I personally feel it is not his place to be involved in the negotiation stages of transfers, that means fee and wages. Wenger should say I want X and Y. Then someone goes off and brings them to the club. More control Wenger needs to let go of.

Anyway sorry for the essay, its what happens when you finish Uni and have too much time on your hands!

  22. allezkev says:

Was having a surf of NN befors I turned in last night. And to my delight stumbled across a picture of Fat Durham in the Maracana….
Ha ha ha, what a revolting ginger slug he looked, spread out across his seat.
    A pile of ginger lard.

    Morning Gooners btw.
    Morning Rico…
    Rock On Adam…

  23. Scott from Oz says:

Paul, i cannot agree more with your last few points….especially on transfer negotiations.

  24. Scott from Oz says:

Schwarzer has just pulled off one of the best saves you will ever see!
You can have Cesar…..the old boy would do me.
    Incredible reflexes for a 20 y.o. 🙂

  25. eastsidepaul says:

Thanks Scott, as I have said I don’t claim to know the ins and outs of what goes on behind the scenes at the club, but I think we all have a fair idea from years of being fans and picking up bits and pieces along the way.

I feel if we had a Dein like character at the club we would not have missed out on the likes of Mata and Alonso (at the time!) as Dein would have gotten them done, ruthless in negotiation. I think we have suffered hugely for not having him, or someone similar at the club. We have missed out on huge players over a few million, or being too slow finalising a deal.

I think when Wenger is envolved, he second guesses himself at times. Always wanting a bargin, just in case the player turns out to be a flop. We know he will never pay over the odds for a player. But someone like Dein will, Wenger never has to know about it. He gives out names, those names either arrive or they don’t.

  26. Bradster says:

    Hi all,

I personally don’t want Arsenal to sign Cesar but every article has us talking to QPR so here’s hoping he is great for us.

I think Usmanov thought this will be the year we don’t make champions league and he can buy Arsenal at a better price, perhaps that’ll be next season.

I thought Squid was out of contract this summer, when does he leave?

  27. allezkev says:

Do QPR, hahaha, still have Robert Green on their books?

If yes, then I would imagine that they would only be too happy to get Cesar off of their wage bill.

Him and a dozen others no doubt…

A 2 year deal, with a one extra year option seems to make sense.
As long as he performs, then just give him a one-year extension every summer…

  28. devilgunner says:

Ronaldo has refused to sign an extension to his contract.

Expect the Ronaldo to Arsenal stories to start.

  29. Scott from Oz says:

Funnily enough though Paul, the fact Wenger has too much on his plate is partly the reason i defend him.
Why the hell would anyone give one man so much to do, so much responsibility?
    It is wrong.

  30. eastsidepaul says:

I don’t know if he has been giving it Scott and that he just hasn’t taken it!
Maybe over the years of resigning those big contracts he has demanded more and more power.

Either way it shouldn’t have been allowed. Really is damaging to the set up of the team.

  31. Scott from Oz says:

This is one hell of a game.
The Japanese are technicall superior, but our Aussies are well and truly up for the fight.

  32. Scott from Oz says:

Fair call, and you are right in that we do not know.
Stan can change it……yeah, right lol

  33. eastsidepaul says:

I wonder does Stan sit down to watch a game, and just think to himself “I have no idea what is going on”… I’d love to know if he actually enjoys the sport or does it bore him like it does for most Americans!

  34. eastsidepaul says:

DG I would like to see that statistic for seasons passed, I say the result would not be to dissimilar.

Mistakes have cost us a lot over the past few years, I’d like to know how many points Almunia alone has cost us in years gone by.

  35. eastsidepaul says:

I bet the highlight of his experience is getting once of those overpriced hotdogs at halftime! But he has a few pound, he can afford it!

I have always wondered what is in it for our current board to keep Usmanov out of the boardroom. They eventually let silent Stan in, gladly too!

I think their fear is once Usmanov has power, the board members are going to find themselves on the streets, so holding on to Stan is a must for them and their status on the board.

  36. Scott from Oz says:

Honda and Kagawa are tearing us apart.
Kagawa really went to the wrong club…..he is an Arsenal player.
    So is Honda!!

  37. Scott from Oz says:

    Lee,
Honda has always played better than Kagawa when i have seen them.
I just posted that both are sensational tonight though….they link up superbly.

  38. allezkev says:

    Cheers Coach….

    Afternoon all…

    Wow, it’s a hot one today…
You could fry an egg on a dingo’s arse….

Not sure about Honda, but I once had a Rover.

  39. Scott from Oz says:

We have put one past the Japanese…..this could be a MASSIVE goal for Australia….HUGE!!?

  40. W.A.T.H says:

See Scott’s thinking of selling everyone young Sean bangs in a few goals and he’s taken on the mantra of Super Agent..!

  41. eastsidepaul says:

Don’t know what it is like elsewhere but here in the South-East of Ireland, it is stunning!

  42. W.A.T.H says:

Watch out for Yamaha as well Scott, I hear he has a better engine than even Honda who is high maintenance…!

  43. Scott from Oz says:

1-1……Japan got a well deserved draw…actually, they were unlucky…through a well given and well taken penalty.
Great result for our lads, anyway.

  44. rico says:

😛 Wath.. You won’t catch me running up those steps…

It is here in Berkshire too Esp, looks like summer has arrived at last. Bit breezy though ….

  45. potter says:

Not sure about Honda, but I once had a Rover.

Probably a 400 series with the Honda engine I suppose.

  46. Micko says:

Dunno about bonbons but we’ve had our fair share of sherbet lemons along the way rico.
Was it a corcorde Scott ?

  47. tsgh says:

    Night Scott,

Another lucky win for the Aussies 🙂

I will be reviewing your one sided commentary when I get home and find out home biased you are 😛

On a serious note Honda should have been our Far East poster boy 2 or 3 years ago… he has a mean left foot…

  48. Jay says:

Sportsmole are saying that Rooney has said that he would be interested in a move to the Emirates if his wage demands could be met, thats us F….d then

  49. devilgunner says:

Dont worry Jay. he will be moving to us. I can tell you that his wage demands will be met.

  50. W.A.T.H says:

Sportsmole……….. Jay do you actually read that shit…? thats like Adams fav “bleacher report”… just printing those two words means Adam will go off on one and be ranting and swearing all over the place…!
Of course Rooney is interested in joining us….. He won’t come for less than what he’s on that’s for sure but as said before plenty wage to pay him a “package” deal and not 250k in readies..!

  51. devilgunner says:

I saw the whole of Japan – Aussie game. I was impressed by the technicality of the Japs. But also by the tenacity of the Aussies. If a squad of 22 can be assembled from these two teams I can tell you that a combined first 11 of these two teams can make it to the top 6 in the premiership.

Scott must be pleased as punch.

  52. Jay says:

I Has he been spotted looking for a caravan site for his brood in the vicinity of the Emirates then DG ?

  53. Jay says:

I do Look at other sites such as Sportsmole and Ladyarse WATH,just to have chuckle at the bolox that they spout mate ,half the people that blog on there can hardly speak English

  54. Jay says:

Ha Ha Potter I was educated in a North London school that insisted that we learnt a second language ,French German or Italian etc.Unfortunately now English would be the second language

  55. tsgh says:

Dev, are you claiming Scotts assesment of the Aussie team’s performance was unbiased? 🙂

  56. W.A.T.H says:

Jay, with Wayne’s entourage they will be able to start their own caravan “park”…!

  57. devilgunner says:

Guess who the winners are my friends?????

    YES ITS US.

    HOOORRRRRRAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

    WE WIN SOMETHING AT LAST!!!!!!!

  58. Will XL says:

I see everybody’s favorite defender Kos is already talking about possibly leaving the club. On the back of his first error free season.

  59. rico says:

    Afternoon folks…

Ak must be having a worry about his fiver if that Rooney story is true 😉

  60. allezkev says:

Strange how the rumours of Michu coming to us, didn’t hardly get a mention?

He looked a very good player for Swansea and would be a good fit for us…

But is he really what we want?

Is he of the required standard to transform Arsenal into contenders??

  61. allezkev says:

My trousers are not up for offer I’m afraid boss?

But I could include my socks if you like…? 😛

  62. allezkev says:

Belhanda is another, according to ‘reports’ 🙁 who could be on the Arsenal radar…

We all kind of assumed that that last minute bid last January, that Wenger made for a player in Ligur Un was Capoune, but it might have been Belhanda?

  63. ozgunner says:

there seems to be an ever increasing amount of “we have had no contact” remarks being made about a lot of our so called targets – evening all

  64. rico says:

Not convinced on Michu Ak, he can finish that’s for sure and would get plenty of chances to do so with us but my heart is set on Rooney…

  65. allezkev says:

Not sure we need another attacking midfielder, but I guess if Arsene thinks we do, then that’s what we’re gonna get…

  66. ozgunner says:

you and me both Rico and there is not a snowballs chance in hell Wenger will spend the money required

  67. rico says:

Socks will do for me Ak, as long as you tuck a fiver in them 😉

I quite like Belhanda, he was good against us in the CL wasn’t he?

Hi Oz, its all a game ….

  68. ozgunner says:

reading between the lines, there are a few of our players quite definitely expecting some upgrades to arrives though. Not sure more Mr Potentials will satisfy them either

  69. allezkev says:

Tbh Rico, I try not to get too hyped-up by the Rooney rumours, or ‘reports’…

Yes, of course he would be a great signing, even with his inflated salery, and a real sign of intent…
But Wenger doesn’t do signings of that nature. He’ll just do what he wants to do and damn what we think…
Michu would fit his raison d’être, when It comes to cheapo signings, although I reckon that we’d be looking at £15m to get Swansea to sell…

  70. allezkev says:

Ok Rico, I wi include my socks, but only on condition that you include you fishnet tights… 😉

  71. allezkev says:

No Oz, he isn’t, and I doubt that Swansea would sell him anyway, but he knows where the onion basket is and is fully adapted to the EPL…

As is Rooney of course… 🙂

  72. allezkev says:

As Rico knows Oz, that’s why she’s saving up to pay me a Fiver, I have no expectations at all, that Wenger is going to go on a spending spree…
Many of my mates on here think differently, and I hope they are right, but past experience of Arsene talking the talk, and then doing fcuk all, are all to fresh in my memory…

  73. rico says:

Ak, but I truly believe that AW knows it’s poop or bust, Whether or not he has a future with Arsenal is up to him….

Popping down my shed to find my fish net…. Might need to clean the seaweed off, just in case Rooney doesn’t sign 😉

It never did fit me, was too tight…..

  74. ozgunner says:

yeah, we have certainly heard it all enough times mate – like you don’t trust him to spend what’s needed to get what’s needed

  75. ozgunner says:

how is it poop or bust Rico? You know they are falling over themselves to get him to extend – who in this club would have the guts to fire him or refuse him any contract he demands?

  76. rico says:

The reason I think we will see change is what we heard back in Jan. SK and IG tried to convince AW to do more in that transfer window..

IF that was true, and we have know reason to doubt it’s source, then AW surely won’t get away with it again….

    Will he??

  77. ozgunner says:

damn better go to bed, getting meself on edge again – that name Wenger does bad things to me hahah – night guys!

  78. allezkev says:

Oz, I don’t believe a word he says when it comes to transfers…

I know a lot of what he says is intended to send those stupid idiots in the Media, up the wrong path, but I’d rather he kept he dopey gob shut…

Ferguson would only spout off about players he wanted to sign.
Which usually destabilised them and meant he got them…

By comparison, Arsene talks a load of nonsense..

And if he is misquoted, all he has to do is to publicly refute the rumours.
But he doesn’t, and so I ignore him most of the time.

I can’t remember the last time I read his page in the Arsenal programme.

  79. rico says:

I’m struggling to get the rod off of the net though Ak, it’s covered with seaweed 😉

I suspect that image will remind Adam of his 3rd wife, I think she like fishnets, or was that Adam on a Sunday?? 😉

  80. rico says:

That’s just it Oz, we don’t know that they are, some believe that to be the case, but what if it really is AW who chooses not to spend?

Why hasn’t he signed a new contract yet?

    I don’t know……

  81. allezkev says:

    Ok, an extended tea-break over…

    See ya lata Rico.

Keep saving them there pennies… 😛

  82. rico says:

Here here Ak, shut up and go and make the signings. What he forgets is that every time he is playing with the press/media, he is taking the piss out of the fans too…..

  83. potter says:

I doubt that Gazidis and Kroenke really pressured Wenger to buy, because there would only have been one outcome. If the majority shareholder and chief exec laid down the law and the manger refused then he would have no option but to fall on his sword. Our board have not got the will or impetus to do that , so I think those comments are just more smoke designed to defer the blame away from themselves and on to the manager.

  84. rico says:

But maybe they don’t want to pay any compensation, let him just go at the end of his contract…

I don’t know, none of us truly do unless we know what goes on behind closed doors but I don’t believe that Arsene Wenger is without a vast proportion of blame for what is going on….

  85. Adam says:

Oh well, I just paid for my ticket and got one for Mrs Adam too. With Rooney, Cesc, Higuiain, Begovic and Williams coming, plus a few more, I think it will be great value.

  86. Micko says:

rico, there’s an old saying that goes like this ‘When all that’s stiff is his socks, take the money and run’ !!!

  87. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all, Nice post Rico,
Usmanov waiting in the wings ready to pounce, Yeh i don’t think so. If he had any designs to own Arsenal he would have done it yonks ago, He will be happy just to have his say that’s all he wants. He’s got his boxes and surrounded himself in family and friends not supprising how many friends you get when you have 12 bill in the bank, strange how no one at Arsenal wants to sit in his box or even talk to him.Maybe he’ll make his move once Wenger retires he may have leaned something about the game by then.

  88. Kevin KJ says:

Great post Rico, enjoyed reading that. Hi Adam, Scott, Potter, devil etc sorry not been around hectic at work.

Be careful what you wish for with Usmanov. Never trust an Uzi or Russian done enough business with them, not always what you think they are. In his defence, I guess he didn’t steal his wealth from the Russian people, like Abramovich, alledgedly. Yes he is more wealthy than the Chelsea owner but i personally think it rips the soul out of a football club. We will just get a load of mercenaries and a further spiralling of player wages. And look at the disgraceful way Chelsea treat people from Clttenburg to Di Matteo, it is a despicable club. I am proud we do not act that way. And man City proved, spending obscene amounts of cash does not guarantee longevity of success. Let see what this summer brings, could be interesting, I certainly hope so!

  89. devilgunner says:

Of course its around YAYA Ginge. NEgredo has no sale on value if he flops. Sanogo will be a backup to Giroud or a new striker.

  90. rico says:

Ts – I think we have Yaya in the bag don’t we?

Hi Sp, nah, he’s just been adding and adding shares, 30% and he’ll take the next step 🙂

  91. rico says:

    And thanks Sp 😉

Thanks to you too Kj, but, we aren’t Chealse and Usmanov isn’t Roman….

And Usmanov isn’t a Russian, he was born in Uzbekistan – does that save him 😉 😉

  92. tsgh says:

If Honda is moving to AC then AW may be looking at Stephan
El Shaarawy who we were linked with last January… that will be a cope

  93. tsgh says:

Rico, so they say about Yaya… he is decent and Coach Dev endorses so I am happy with that…

  94. stevepalmer1 says:

I’m a bit old fashioned Rico, I dont like the idea of winning trophies off the back of an Usbek. Were making money under the Yank and thats hard earned money what supporters have spent over the years. By my reckoning its time that some of that hard earned money was spent on the squad instead of everything else. FFP is probably a joke but we have stuck by our ways, but it is time to spend what we earn, and win trophies the right way, not by a foreign sugar Daddy.

  95. Adam says:

My 4th wife was an Usbeki and she was a filthy, oversexed and rather depraved woman with a touch of the animal about her. But she made a very good bread pudding.

  96. rico says:

Ts – if he’s over his injury probs, he could be a darn good signing, but….

Sp, I really don’t like being owned by a Yank or a Russian/Uzi, but that’s the way football has gone….

If Kroenke came out and told us a few truths, maybe I’d think more of him…

just maybe this summer will change my mind about him, I sure hope it does….

  97. devilgunner says:

Hmmmmmmm…..the filthy, oversexed and rather depraved woman with a touch of the animal about her plus the non-philosophical homo sapiens.

Wild nights rather than nights in white satin.

  98. Adam says:

Afraid not TS. Although while I was with her I did have a liaison with triplets from Patagonia. It was rather tiring and shortened my….
Well, I won’t go into that now.

  99. OC_GOONER says:

I know this is late but @eastsidepaul football “soccer” is not boring to most americans anymore. Just the thick as shit ones from the south. Ignorant and outdated statement. I love it and I’m American.

  100. devilgunner says:

The carpenter had a tough old job keeping up with mending the bedroom furniture. 😆

  101. stevepalmer1 says:

Didn’t say they never had good points Adam, sounds like my kind of woman, just wish i was 40 years younger 🙂

  102. Adam says:

Steve. 🙂 Personally I see little difference between SK and AU except that the latter has got a lot more money and seems more ambitious for success on the field. Stan’s track record in Sport is hardly encouraging though. Still, we are where we are. It’s up to these blokes to do the right thing.

  103. allezkev says:

Mick, every morning I get up with a huge stiffy.

When I get home from work I still have a big stiffy.

In fact Mick, I am stiff all the time.

That’s why I see an Osteo every other Friday.

  104. allezkev says:

    Adam is fortunate though Mick.

He has the suppleness of a gymnast.

I witnessed this during the second half of the recent game at Newcastle.

I was left gobsmacked at the triple falcos and backwards somersaults he did as the game approached added time.

It was very impressive, as was his language…. 😉

  105. Adam says:

Kev. Do you transfix your passengers with them in the rear view mirror and hypnotise them into giving you all their money? Are you the L Kev Hubbard of the First Church Of Cabology.?

  106. allezkev says:

Sadly Stevo, she is a he…
    Otherwise i’d go twice a week. 😀

Sorry Adam, me and my big gob. 🙂

  107. devilgunner says:

Hmmmmmm. Seems as if we have found the MISSING LINK between the apes and homo sapiens according to the description kindly offered to us by Kev regarding Adam’s suppleness.

  108. tsgh says:

Comments from David Dein that would make SYG wonder… 😀

“I know Arsene will try to improve the squad if he can. It’s up to the scouting network around the world – they are looking to find the best players possible for Arsenal.

“But they are not alone, everybody else is trying to do the same thing. When I first used to go to the African Cup of Nations there would hardly be any scouts from England.

“Today you are getting scouts from all over England going to watch the talent there. They know that is a developing place where you can see young talent coming through.”

  109. devilgunner says:

Mr Dein………..if the “scouts from all over England going to watch the talent there” why dont the fuck you watch nearer home…….around the effing LONDON then?

  110. tsgh says:

Capoue says his future will not be decided until after Le Bleus friendlies against Uruguay tomorrow and Brazil in Porto Alegre on Sunday.

  111. tsgh says:

I wonder who learnt from who the spin I meant… AW from DD or the other way round… they sound like Rico and Adam… in sync lol

  112. stevepalmer1 says:

Trouble is we dont want wannabee’s we want top talent tried and tested 8 years is a long time wannabee’s take years to mature and most of them need six months a year on the sick bed

  113. devilgunner says:

At the end of the day, until we sign Rooney and Cesc, I feel that all along it has been as I said……….Politics in the boardroom are determining the results. Had AFC finished outside the top four or five, the shares would have plummeted and the uzbeki would have found it easier to buy AFC.

But AW and the team managed to scupper that knowing that if AFC finished outside the top five they would have been LYNCHED.

  114. tsgh says:

A personal message from DD to Adam – ‘“Arsène can only buy who’s available” you can’t make this up can you…?

  115. tsgh says:

I agree with you Dev… that is why I am yet to be convinced AW was sitting on a huge hoard of cash….

Is DD now trying to take credit for the stadium too?…”We had to press ahead with a new stadium. As a result, there was a balancing act between building it and keeping club challenging.”

  116. devilgunner says:

If those quotes are true they can only mean one thing……….next season will see DD back in the Arsenal boardroom.

    Kev will like that.

  117. tsgh says:

SP1, but even DD who most fans choose to adore is sounding more like AW in January than AW does in August…lol

I have always believed the whole rivalry between Stan and AU was a big money making ploy… its like politics… Republicans vs Democrats; or Labour vs Conservatives… all a big FAT con

  118. tsgh says:

Dein wanted nothing to do with a new stadium ownership, he wanted to move us to Wembley. He’s now trying to take credit for that….

  119. stevepalmer1 says:

Anyone that sells their shares and fucks off can stay gone as far as i’m concerned

  120. devilgunner says:

Ginge and SP………….politics does not work like we do. We have our own principles and values. There are no grey areas.

Politics is 99% grey and 1% shady. There is no black or white.

The thing is……….those who are in a power struggle will usually enjoy being arse-cocked or dick-licked.

  121. rico says:

Ts, have you been reading Jamie Redknapps top ten no 10’s in The Daily Mail, his top ten is identical 😉

  122. devilgunner says:

4-2-3-1 is in reality no different to and elaborated 4-4-1-1. or to be exact 4-2-2-1-1.

The difference lies in the fact that the former no10 was a striker who used to drop deep while now the no10 is more of an advanced midfielder pushed more forward.

Bergkamp would not have played no10 AM/F in the present line up. He would have been utilised as a false no9.

  123. tsgh says:

Dev…Its amazing how DB10 was converted from a right sided forward in a front 3 to a very special no.10

  124. tsgh says:

I think the likes of Zico, Rivaldo and Gullit were strikers but I don’t think Maradona, Cruyf and Hagi were strikers… they like John Barnes started off as no.11…

  125. devilgunner says:

    cu ginge.

    I am off too.

    time for dreamland.

where we will be hammering a pursie led manure 9-0 with Shrek scoring 5 and Cesc 4.

    Good night

  126. Joaquim moreira says:

Mourinho doesn’t want Torres and Mata in the Chelsea squad!
He has 275 millions for spend!
Priorities: 5 players: jovetic, Dzeko, Mangala and more two.

  127. gnarleygeorge9 says:

“Laurent Koscielny insists he wants to stay at Arsenal, but has warned the club they must start challenging for trophies or he could seek a move away from the Emirates”.

Didn’t he cost The Club a trophy from a complete brain explosion at the 11th hour & 50 minutes against Brum 😉

  128. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Maureen is just a scabby whore who likes to spend rich peoples peoples money. Why doesn’t he go to a club that doesn’t have loads of dosh and show us how good a manager he is, not how well he can spend money. No class 😉

  129. rico says:

    Morning GG and all….

Didn’t Jose do that at Porto? Or did he spend big there too, Devil reckons he’ll fail big time…

  130. devilgunner says:

    Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Oui, Jose did that at Porto………but remember that Porto play in a league in which they can only be defeated by Porto. It might be Benfica but if you have a good enough defence in the Portugal Primera you will run away with the league.

Last time around the EPL was in trance of Jose and Abramovitch. AFC were moving stadium and thus money was tight. This time around Jose might not have the same impact as he did in 2005.

He will be there or thereabouts. But back then everyone rolled over and let themselves be tickled by the chavs. Now I reckon he will not have the same success. And failure to get a trophy in his first season will be enough to get Roman itchy again.

  131. devilgunner says:

Jose was then hand-picked in late January 2002 by FC Porto to replace Octávio Machado. At this time, Porto was in 5th place in the Liga (behind Sporting, Boavista, Leiria and Benfica), had been eliminated from the Portuguese Cup and was in last place in their Champions League second stage group. Mourinho guided the team to third place that year after a strong 15-game run (W–D–L: 11–2–2) and gave the promise of “making Porto champions next year.”
He quickly identified several key players whom he saw as the backbone of what he believed would be a perfect Porto team: Vítor Baía, Ricardo Carvalho, Costinha, Deco, Dmitri Alenichev, and Hélder Postiga. He recalled captain Jorge Costa after a six-month loan to Charlton Athletic. The signings from other clubs included Nuno Valente and Derlei from União de Leiria; Paulo Ferreira from Vitória de Setúbal; Pedro Emanuel from Boavista; and Edgaras Jankauskas and Maniche, who both had been out of contract at Benfica.

  132. rico says:

Morning Devil, thanks. But he won the CL with them too so I guess he was once an ok manager… 😉

    Can’t stand the guy myself…

  133. devilgunner says:

Either he is a complete fool or this is an attempt by the media to continue destabilizing the club………

LAURENT KOSCIELNY has threatened to quit Arsenal if the club continue to miss out on trophies.

The 27-year-old France international is happy at the Emirates but the lack of honours – it’s been eight years since the Gunners last picked up any silverware – is worrying the centre-half.

“I feel good at Arsenal, if we have ambition to fight against the other teams of course I want to stay here,” Koscielny told Eurosport.

“It is hard to not win titles year after year. We are competitors, professionals, we want to win.

“I want to add to my list of achievements. If Arsenal cannot allow me that, I’ll seek a move elsewhere.”

Koscielny has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, who are understood to be weighing up whether to lodge a £15m bid.

But boss Arsene Wenger insists his countryman is not for sale.

I dont know if I am right but wasn’t there an almighty cock up in the last seconds against Birmingham in the League cup final??? I cant seem to remember the name of the centreback, but it looked awfully like some guy from a french second division club.

  134. rico says:

But he is the ‘special one’…

Always thought he left a word out in that statement..

    ‘Needs’!!

  135. devilgunner says:

JOSE MOURINHO is ready to sell Fernando Torres and Juan Mata, Spanish media reports.

The Special One has only been in the job two days but wants to make the double sale as a statement of intent.

The Chelsea boss has asked owner Roman Abramovich to listen to offers for the pair as he looks to raise funds for a shopping spree, according to Radio Marca.

Chelsea have been lining up a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko but Abramovich has already made it clear there are no endless funds available.

Mourinho is also eyeing up Fiorentina ace Stevan Jovetic.

Spain striker Torres has struggled since making his £50m switch from Liverpool but did show glimpses of returning to form last season.

But a sale of Mata – one of the first names on the Chelsea team-sheet – will shock the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Go for MATA AW. He will provide the team with an outlet on the wings.

  136. devilgunner says:

This summer is promising to be a SPECIAL ONE all around. I think it will be a transfer merry go round.

Hopefully AFC will not be spectators but main actors this time around.

I am salivating at the thought of were the fiver will end up.

  137. rico says:

I’d go for Mata too Devil, great little player, Rooney over Torres though 😉

City are busy too, Navas and some other player with ‘inho’ on the end of his name 😉

Totts to offer money and Defoe to Villa for Benteke…

  138. devilgunner says:

If AW gets MAta and Rooney (yes even Torres if Shrek does not come) I would not give a rat’s arse where Benteke ends up. Atletico are going to offer 24 million for him.

If the spuds loose Bale to RM then they will be chocking by the end of December till May.

  139. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening devil & rico

Ok, so Maureen got his start @ Porto, I have been a bit hard on him, but I don’t take back the bit where he is a voueur of Arsene Wenger 😛

  140. devilgunner says:

Its one of the following I think (that shitty are interested in)………..

    Santosinho
    Chamackinho,
    Bendinho,
    Squillacinho

Adam says its the 4th one. No says Lee its the 1st. Wait a bit, Wath gathers its the 2nd. Hold on, Scott says its the 3rd.

    Lord……I am muddled.

  141. devilgunner says:

Cesc Fabregas could return to Arsenal this summer despite suggesting he wants to stay at Barcelona, according to former Gunners vice-chairman David Dein.

Fabregas emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal after reportedly becoming frustrated with his treatment at Barcelona in recent months.

The 26-year-old is known to have met with manager Tito Vilanova to discuss the problems, and had suggested earlier this week he would definitely be staying at the Nou Camp.

However, according to Dein, whose son Darren is Fabregas’ agent, a move to Arsenal is not totally off the cards.

‘You can never say never in football,’ said Dein when asked if the Spaniard could return to the Emirates.

‘I know Arsene Wenger will try to improve the squad if he can.’

Dein is a long-term friend of Gunners boss Wenger, having been fundamental in the Frenchman’s appointment.

The pair are also known to regularly meet for lunch and enjoy a close relationship, despite Dein’s acrimonious departure following a board room row.

I will bet a fiver that Dein, Cesc and Rooney will end up at AFC this summer. Add Mata, Capoue and Cesar and that will be the lot.

  142. rico says:

Rightly so GG, the man’s a little git….

Wonder if he’ll try and get Ronaldo at Chelsea, did the two of them get on ….? Can’t see him wanting to play under Moyes..

  143. rico says:

    This is him..

Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, 28, after reaching a compromise on his buy-out clause of £42.5m. (Daily Telegraph)

  144. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
Devil, our Aussie lads never say die, do they?
With the coaching at the grass roots level we now have access to, we will definitely be producing world class players in the near future.
We have always produced the athletes, now we will produce the quality 🙂

  145. rico says:

You taught me well Adam, but I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about my spelling mistake in this post yesterday morning 😉
