Public Relations…. What Public Relations??

This transfer window as well as the last, has been really getting me down.

Arsenal’s Public Relations Department has been a sad embarrassment to all loyal Arsenal supporters.

I don’t know how you all feel but I for one am totally peed off with how fans are being treated. I thought the idea of a Public Relations in any company was to show customers that they are the ones they aim to please in order to get support for their products.

Arsenal Football Club have a funny way of showing to me that they care at all.

Many clubs across the country have not got the resources that the bigger clubs have, their fans realize that the chances of big name players being drafted in are pretty slim but in way of repaying the fans they keep their season tickets at reasonable prices and the turnstile’s price’s the same.

Their fans realize that theirs and many other clubs are struggling to keep their heads above water and accept that when a new addition comes in, a lot of thought has gone into it.

Arsenal Football Club are a very wealthy business, their profits are huge and the lack of spending in the player department is roughing up many supporters the wrong way. Supporters realize that even a very wealthy club like ours, the acquisition of a quality player is still looked at as an extravagant purchase but when we pay the amount we do to watch our favorite club every week and we expect the club to accommodate us with good players and a team that will stand a chance of winning things.

After all their prices are the most expensive out of all the clubs in the league.

Being a supporter I expect The Arsenal to be challenging every year. I would like to believe that at the start of the season we have as much chance of winning the league as any other club, more in fact than most because we are a wealthy club. Sadly though at this moment in time I am watching other clubs replacing players with what they consider to be better than what they had before, while we have been holidaying and have missed chances to recruit better players,.

Arsenal FC seem to be dragging their heels and I am beginning to get worried about my clubs chances for the coming season.

Last season was a very disappointing time for Arsenal supporters, one minute we were the only team left that could win the quad, getting through to the final in the Carling Cup, even beating Barcelona in the first leg of The Champions League but sadly because we didn’t buy in the January transfer window we faded, we ran out of steam as usual. That was a pivotal time of the season and once again we failed to live up to the expectations many fans had waited for, for six fruitless long years.

It appears that Arsenal FC are good at taking money in but to reinvest seem alien to them right now.

I am no expect expert but even I could see the frailties in our defense prior to the January transfer window and I had hoped that with good defenders looking to join us, would be signed up.

How our club, led by a manager acclaimed as one of the best in the world, allowed that window to pass without reinforcements is unbelievable!

At present this transfer window is going the same way, only this time we have sold our left back Clichy, so now we have weakened our defense even more. We have Gibbs as a stand in replacement but as we all know Gibbs has a history of injury problems.

We hear about other players being linked with a move away in Fabregas and Nasri, the latter linked with the two Manchester sides which is a big no no in my eyes, selling to our immediate rivals, I don’t think so.

Fabregas as usual is linked with Barcelona, surely Wenger watched us get whittled down by them in The Champions League, and I can’t believe he will give them one of our best and make us weaker. Another unbelievable situation and all I can say to that is, No Wenger No!!!

Back to our Public relations, are they really as bad as they are?

Sixty thousand loyal home supporters and several million more around the world and they can’t tell us anything in the closed season.

Shame on you, yes shame on you, absolutely disgraceful – we are a top club with a very poor communications department.

In the words of a man from down the road, once of the  ‘Jewish Lads Brigade’ say’s:

‘YOUR FIRED’…….!

Well, you should be…..

Morning all

Good read Steve and spot on, the website are too busy going over past players etc, years gone by and yet we all know Gervinho had a medical yesterday, why isn’t that on there??

2. rico says:

Hi Kt

Showdown talks today then…. well, according to the press…. who also say we have rejected a 20m offer from the mancs…

they also say that Fabregas is on strike, that is why he was in the gym instead of training..

You couldn’t make this stuff up could you….

3. rico says:

I was watching Hunter this morning Kt, didn’t hear him say that, but he was the one who said about fabregas being on strike….

4. ArsenalDK says:

It’s because i’m not here rico 😛

6. rico says:

🙂 ADK, morning to you, no news just boring gossip about how players are leaving…..

no messi, but we are in one 😉

7. ArsenalDK says:

morning rico

haha good one there! It’s like when he has the ball and the commentator yells: It’s messi! 😛 Just like the situation at arsenal ATM 🙁

Anyway, what do you make of the Mata story? Would Wenger ever offer that kind of money?

8. rico says:

It’s an interesting one DK, as is the Benzema and Levazzi stories, personally i cannot see anyone of them being right….

9. ArsenalDK says:

Has Lavezzi also been linked to us?

I would be in 7th heaven if we got him..

The thing that bothers me the most though, is, that it seems that united get whatever player they want, even though they are in a much bigger debt than we are!

They have bought Young, now hey are being seriously linked to Nasri and Sneijder.. We’re never gonna be able to compete with them 🙁

10. arsenal fan says:

good post……
Our pr department is useless have forgotten that nowadays their is a thing as promotion…
Lavezzi is linked with manchester city ….he wouldnt join us…their team napoli is very good and can give us a tough game….

11. rico says:

Hi AF, Citeh can’t buy everyone 😉

Kt, he is one of our laziest too…. I hope he’s left the pies out of his diet during his holiday 😉

12. Loyal fun4eva says:

Its like wenger and the board bulge their accountz with the transfer kit…. Hw could he pay 27m when he couldnt add 1.7m whch could av brot Alvarez! hen he couldnt add 1.7m whch could av brot Alvarez!

13. rico says:

Loyal,

Do you believe we were actually in for Alvarez?

Hi shrek, I hope he does too but i just can’t see him staying fit

14. Loyal fun4eva says:

I hate 2 love ARSENAL but… Thi problem is I do really LUV it! Who knows may b wenger has a suprise in store 4 us! Fingaz crossd though

Personally speaking , Diaby’s injuries are no to great compared to the great Brazilian Ronaldo’s. This was the guy who was close to the top of his game during his year in Barca & 1st season in Italy(27 goals in 32 games anyone). This was was when our own TH14 was struggling at Juventus (although a season later). I personally rate Ronaldo much better than Henry ,but thats just my opinion. He had 2 career threatening injuries (although not due to a bad challenge but due to playing in a tough league & when rules were tackling were not so strict).

16. allezkev says:

Afternoon Gooners….
Hi there Rico, i’m not so sure about Alvarez anymore, maybe it was a diversion from Wenger’s real target, possibly Javier Pastore???
Nice piece by SP, surely he’s not up a ladder again?

17. shrek2be says:

correction in above post as it has too many typos and grammatical errors

Personally speaking , Diaby’s injuries are not so great compared to the great Brazilian Ronaldo’s. He was consistently challenged and tackled as that we the only way one could stop him.

18. shrek2be says:

allezkev
Javier Pastore? That overpriced player ? I wish we had a player of Pavel Nedved’s calibre . Tireless running , very creative,an almost perfect replacement for Zidane.

19. allezkev says:

Shrek, re: Ronaldo, i suspect that a poor diet and lifestyle also had an effect on his fitness. Also he wasn’t the brightest spark around, where as TH14 was intelligent, articulate and looked after himself, thus he’s still putting in a good shift in the US of A…

20. allezkev says:

Shrek, i don’t believe the price quoted for Pastore…. It’s like some of those stupid buy-out clauses in the contracts of Spanish players.
Didn’t David Villa have a buy-out the size of Argentina’s national debt? And in the end he went for, what £35mill or something???

21. Loyal fun4eva says:

Hi Ricco I believed it wud go through without any blemish but i was left to swallow my wordz.

22. shrek2be says:

Nah allezkev, If you ever notice during his peak i.e early years before the injuries , he used to watch himself very well. The poor diet & lifestyle came into play after his move to Madrid during the Galacticos era. He was very good for the first 2 seasons. I guess this decline happens almost for all Brazilian players who go onto win almost everything the game offers individually and personally. Just look at Ronaldinho . After the Cl triumph in 2006, he went downhill.By this time he had won Fifa player of the year twice , one world cup,one champions league, 2 back to back La Liga titles , got a standing ovation at the Bernabeu (something which has only been done for Maradona) ,I guess he was more than done with his career.

23. rico says:

Yes, but we wren’t paying him shrek 😉

seriously, we have too many out each season with inujries and diaby is up there with the worst, while we pay hium big bucks, it’s not as if he’s that good when he does play….

24. rico says:

Howdy dodee AK, i don’t think we were ever after him either….

how long before we hear about Ricky Gervais 😉

25. rico says:

shrek, its only me believeing previous rumous over the years which has made me realise is all garbage… well, most…

26. allezkev says:

I see that the Press [hate them] are continuing with their line of ‘lets all bash Arsenal’…….
Just ignore the wankers.
They know f**k all…
All Journo’s want us to believe that they have some inside info, yeah right!
All they do is sit on their fat arses in Docklands, eating takeaways, and surfin’ the Net to steal/invent stories… how i despise them…

27. rico says:

AK, i think things could soon change in the press world, big time, not so much in reporting of football but all this NOTW stuff is absolutely disgraceful – i’m wondering what impact it could all have on Sky….

28. allezkev says:

I’d love to see Murdoch’s son in the dock..
A few of those scumbags could do with a spell of porridge, they could keep the M.P.’s company…
Oooops don’t drop your soap…..

29. W.A.T.H says:

I see another busy day in the world of all things Arsenal…….

Greetings one and all…..

30. allezkev says:

Hi Wath…
It’s quiet everywhere, but who are the Press ‘digging-out’…???
Those c**ts are sitting at their PC’s reading all our blogs, and having a whale of a time… They think it’s hilarious…..
Bunch of alcoholics, the lot of them… Well 90%..

31. W.A.T.H says:

We won’t even spend 17 on Cahill how you reckon those skinflints will part with 27 on Benzema and why would he even wanna join us…?

32. allezkev says:

I see that Barca have said that they are prepared to go to last day of the Window, to conclude a deal for Cesc….
Well, where’s the response from Kroneke or Gazidis???
Give Barca a deadline..
You either match AFC’s valuation by July 31st or it goes up £10million…. And rises £10million every week after that…

33. rico says:

That’s just how the club have made me feel WATH, if wenger really wanted a top defender he would have given bolton what they want and had cahill in the bag by now and he’d be in training with the rest..

17 million, and thats exactly why i laughed at the 52 million link this morning…

IF by chance it is true then wenger has really pulled a rabbit out the bag but i just can’t see it….

34. arsenal fan says:

Rumour of rumour…..
fabregas will join barcelona….As replacement wenger will sign mata…..nasri to stay because the bid for benzema has been accepted by real madrid…

35. allezkev says:

Real Madrid are certainly spending a lotta dough. Even a basket case like Real need to balance their books, so Benzema is a possibilty…
Maybe Stan will tell Arsene “Go, get him”..?

36. W.A.T.H says:

Yes lets all be happy Arsenal fans and just ignore whats going on and throw a towel over our heads…! It’s easy to ignore the truth when it hurts…!

37. rico says:

I’d be happy if benzema joined us and like AF says, he French 😉

Trouble is AK, if he really is available, would Wenger spend that kind of money? Maybe they’d take nikki in a swap and a fiver 😉

38. allezkev says:

Well Rico, where did the £27million price tag come from???
We don’t know, it’s those scumbags in the Press that publish valuation’s, and of course they’re always accurate.
Even the £17million for Cahill. We know it’s a buy-out clause, or some old bollox like that, but that doesn’t have to be his price!
And where is the stampede for his signature?
Overpriced maybe???

39. allezkev says:

HAHA Lee/Rico….
It was fantastic, 2 bottles of Cobra Rico, smoooth.
Lee you have to try a ruby from there, it’s very very good…

40. allezkev says:

The Chicken Tikka was one of the best i’ve ever had…
Bharjis were crispy and BIG…hmmmmm
The lemon rice was oh so lemony yuuummmm.

41. shrek2be says:

If we as human beings start meeting the tagged price (MRP) of any object we want which available at a store ,then we’ll start running out of money fairly quickly. A pair of Levis,Pepe denims in India for example costs around minimum Rs 1800/- upwards which is not cheap. A pair pf non descript denims of any local brand, say would cost around Rs 800 – 1300 which is affordable . But the latter pair does the job. Now in footballing terms, take the transfer of Beckham to Real Madrid in 2003. We all know it was mainly for the shirt sales, the glamor etc. Whats not known is that Real had the opportunity to sign a buck toothed Brazilian by the name of Ronaldinho but they turned the opportunity down for reportedly the following reasons:

.. the quote is from a colleague of Madrid’s President Florentino Perez

“How ugly is Ronaldinho? There was no point buying him; it wasn’t worth it. he’s so ugly that he’d sink you as a brand. Between Beckham and Ronaldinho, i’d go for Beckham a hundred times. Just look how handsome Beckham is, the class he has, the image. The whole of Asia has fallen in love with us because of Beckham. Ronaldinho is too ugly.”

Fans wishing for glamor signings ought to be a little careful with their wishes as we all know who turned out the better buy .

42. allezkev says:

That’s the one Lee, Bombay Palace. I had a pint behind the bar waiting for ya buddy….

43. rico says:

Def overpriced, if Moanrinho prefers Lardy to Benzema, either Moanrinho has lost the plot or Benzema is off form….

17M is pricey for Cahill too, but we all know its down to him being English, that alone puts another 5 Million on….

But he’s still young and has many years in him, i hope we get him…

44. allezkev says:

Lee, if i had to choose….?
Cahill is my favourite, but Samba brings a physicality to the table that we badly lack…
As Rico said, it’s difficult to choose..
I suppose if we can sign one, then we’d all cheer up a bit…
even Wath……

45. rico says:

Lee – Both Samba and Cahill please and I forgot to let you know you know that AK had a pint ready for you, sorry 😳 😳

46. allezkev says:

HAHa Lee, yeah it was on me last night, but worth it, it was delicious…
It was a bit pricey last night Shrek, but it’s the beers that rack-up the cost… If you stick to water with your food, then the bill isn’t such a shock…But it was my boy’s 30th birthday, so there ya go pal.

47. W.A.T.H says:

I dont need cheering up Ak I’m fine mate just reality is as it is and we’re pathetic as it currently stands…! It may not be pretty reading but its the truth… prices up promises of players etc etc and all pie in the sky… just like we’re moving to the bowl to compete as we were fed when we left Highbury…!

48. rico says:

I’m sure Nasri would stay if they all signed but then we have to ask, if they all sign, let Nasri go if he really thinks that little of us and use the money to get Fellani 😉

49. shrek2be says:

The biggest issue with Samba is if we have an injury crisis and we play him as 1st choice against one of the quicker teams ,due to our high back-line,we can be caught napping ,and Samba at times I feel with his physique can be clumsy .So there’s always the chance of a red card/penalty or simply being unable to catch up with a really fast striker who has been let in with a through ball.

50. rico says:

Mata is on about 30K a week, get out clause of 22Million…

Spurs and Liverpool want hime too but the player wants CL Football….

What’s keeping Arsene 😉

51. rico says:

But if that situation arises shrek, thats when wenger needs to think about his tictacs and not play so high up the pitch – look how many times Squlli, Clichy and JD got caught out last season….

I just think he is perfect to negate a lot of our problems we have on set pieces and dead balls, he’s a big no nonsense centre half and he’ll stick his head in anywhere….

I bet he get us a few goals too….

52. allezkev says:

Wath mate, we have signed one player, the same as Liverpool, Chelsea & Scummers. ManCity have signed 2 and only the Salford Red Socks have gone in big with 3 signings.
Everton & Villa have signed nobody, but you don’t see the Press digging them out…
Look, i know it’s frustrating buddy, but don’t let the media wind you up..They’re all c**ts, and they hate us…

53. shrek2be says:

Hey rico!!!
How sure can we be to take Nasri’s words at face value about his stance being not about the money , but trophies? As you all know, A great player will move to a better team not only keeping the trophies in mind , but also the offer of a much better paycheck .

54. rico says:

I just don’t see why he feels the need to speak openly about it shrek, not when he is still under contract…

he did well for 5 months for us, that’s all at the emnd of the day…

he’s meant to be in talks today so hopefully we will soon hear something…

55. allezkev says:

Rico/Shrek, didn’t Nasri upset a lot of people at Marseilles before he left to join us…?
Just as Flamini did if i recall…

56. W.A.T.H says:

AK I take no notice of the media what so ever I don’t give a rats arse who others have or have not bought I just look at out inactivity and our lack of intent and ambition and together will all the lies and bullshit we been fed you’d of thought wenger would of wanted to lay down a marker for the season ahead…! We should of been pro-active in the market fuck what everyone else is doing or not doing it makes no odds address our weaknesses and issues and maybe just maybe the players who are genuine about winning things will get a buzz with the new signings like the fans would and they would start to believe again. It’s all about the intent mate and this seems and feels no diferent from any other year..! Same old hot air out the powers tha e and no action on the transfers…! what does that show perspective new players as well AK…? hardly enticing to make them wanna join us…? Unfortunately that how it is at the moment and the board n wenger are to blame..!

57. rico says:

I think he did kev and he mucked us about before signing if i remember right, we were interested in someone different before weren’t we, the fella who is now at newcastle and had his leg broken by a nasty tackle last season…

can’t remember his name??..

58. shrek2be says:

rico, the ideal situation would be the defence never getting involved in attack at all, the attacking players must be very good especially at possession or be able to counter attack swiftly & effectively once they get a break . This will ensure the the fullbacks are never out of position in case possession is lost . One of the main reasons why Barca succeeds with their 4-3-3 which I feel at times switches to a 4-4-2 is their little Argentine Messi. He does the role of 2 players -winger & striker. If he plays as a striker ,Pedro/Afellay moves to the wings and Messi rarely misses when shooting on goal. They don’t need a lot of chances for scoring.

59. allezkev says:

Yeah, that’s right Rico, they all [and Benzema] came through the same year as youths…

60. shrek2be says:

Rico , I think you are referring to Ben Arfa . I believe Nasri signed a contract extension in May 2008 and then signed with us in July 2008. Mainly the reason he signed an extension with OM was simply to get his childhood club better money for the transfer.

61. rico says:

Yep. Ben Arfa – he was doing really well for Newcastle too before he had his leg broke….

62. Joaquim moreira says:

Hi again!
It is ideal for an eleven this season on our site 🙂
I know I’m boring, but remember that Chelsea have paid 20 million for 5 years by Paulo Ferreira? R. Madrid 30 + million per Coentrão defender Garay (Argentina international is in the Copa America).
Clichy for 7 million …. it’s hard to understand
In “real life” when someone wants to leave his own free will to comply with a contract, you must compensate the company …
Benzema 30 million … Fenerbache will run out of the championship … tragedy in the stadium of Twente
I’ll be back next

63. shrek2be says:

Whats so hard to understand ?Coentrão had 4 years left on his contract with a release clause of €30M which RM paid.
Clichy had one year left on his contract which was probably worth going by the rumors £2.7M (£55K per week) . So Man City paid this plus extra money being compensation . Not sure whether I am right abt this though.

64. Will says:

Guys, I am not trying to argue with you or say that you are wrong for feeling the way you do but we are Arsenal. We sound like Chelsea fans, unhappy unless we are winning everything.

Do we support the team and or the trophies?

Yes I want to win like all of you but some of you are going over the edge of the Arsenal board and Wenger hating. We were Arsenal before these came and we will be Arsenal after they all go. I have been told off for saying this on here before but it needs repeating. If all you are interested in and all you want from the club is shiny pots at the end of the year at all costs, I suggest you head west or north.

And I was asked what Arsenal have done.

Wenger has made us world known.
Wenger has given us players like: Henry, Pires, Vieira, Ljungberg.
Wenger has give us an unbeaten season and a 50 game unbeaten record.
Wenger has given us two doubles.
Wenger has given us so many memories of unbelievable football.
Wenger has given us The Emirates Stadium, name a better and more up to date stadium in world football.
Wenger has given us a world class training stadium.
Wenger has done all of this without (yes WITHOUT) saddling us with as much debt as a medium sized country and probably ruining us.

As yourselves this, if Wenger had not turned up, where would we be? I am guessing fighting the Bolton’s and Blackburn’s of this world and be around their worldwide level.

Let’s give the guy time.

65. shrek2be says:

Actually for the first time I see light on the horizon for Arsenal reading your words ,Will. Hopefully Wenger will do what he has to and get us that elusive trophy.

66. W.A.T.H says:

Fair play Will your entitled to say exactly what you want and thats fair enough but do me one favour dont tell me or anyone else on her to go support someone else just because you dont agree with me me anyone else, I dont tell you to wind your neck in and stop being so blinkered or so wenger loving so hence “go support someone else” really is bang out of order…!

67. Will says:

NOt out of order at all, in fact, well in order if all you want is shinys and fuck if we fall as a club and do a Leeds.

Is that what you want from the club, shiny pots at the expense of the club?

68. agirlagunneragir says:

Boo! Nothing new on on our transfer front, I see. 🙁

I really wish we could move some of the players; it would free up space; allow influx of money; and maybe then links to Benzema, Cahill et al. would seem more realistic. Can’t say “Arsenal on a double swoop for Henny Penny and Goosey Loosey” excites me any. 😉

And wow, another Catalan is sounding off again. Yawn.

69. W.A.T.H says:

Yes bang out of order if you wanna tell me to go support someone else so stop being a knob and read what people are saying and where does winning things come into actually buying a squad to compete and challenge and who here is advocating being a leeds ??? think you need to read posts properly and just because you don’t agree with what everyone is saying doesnt mean your right and does not entitle you yo tell people to go support another club…!

70. ArsenalDK says:

I don’t think we will ever go bankrupt Will.

Look at United, Barca, Real, Chelsea…

They’re all in a massive debt, but still, they keep using millions on players.. Why don’t they go bankrupt? Because someone will always be there to save them.. And if we don’t start winning things very soon, no one will be here to save us, because we won’t be interesting enough…

71. Will says:

What happened to the no insults or is that only for people that actually agree with you?

All I am getting here for the last week is Wenger is Shit, he has lost it, he won’t go buy really expensive players so we can compete,

Tell me, do you understand any of this or is it all a tad above you?

72. W.A.T.H says:

Yep it’s miles above me Will as it seems your reading what ever you want into comments and yes I am mega pissed with wenger and the board but show me where I have said he is shit…? lost the plot yep in my opinion he has so let him prove me wrong and expensive doesnt always mena great but it does show intent or have you missed that bit…? Insults are telling people that dont agree with you to go support another team I asked you not to and you go off on another tangent…!

73. Will says:

Have I said you have? I said this site as a whole is turning into an I hate Wenger site.

I stand by my statement, if supporting a team is ONLY about winning things, Arsenal are not for you, go follow a team are willing to buy success at the risk of killing the club.

74. W.A.T.H says:

As said who here is saying that WIll cos you keep going on and on about it but I cant see anyone saying that at all, again your opinion rules then does it..? Your comments about supporting someone else are aimed anyone who doesnt agree with you it seems so that means me….!

75. shrek2be says:

Actually ArsenalDK ,Real and Barca are special cases in world football where apart from the rivalry fueled on political history, they are rumored to also have the backing of the Spanish government and quite possibly UEFA. Do you think UEFA would allow Barca to not compete because of them not meeting requirements for financial fair play? Also their commercial revenues are tremendous with shirt sales , overseas tours, broadcasting rights . In Spain 80% of broadcasting revenue is split between Barca and RM. Man UTD’s debts started with the takeover by the Glazers. But their commercial revenues are also very good . Arsenal should have exploited the commercial revenues with overseas tours earlier but he does have his own of doing things and must have good reasons as to decline them. Chelsea are bankrolled by Roman…nuff said

76. agirlagunner says:

I’m wondering why I turned blue. And I can’t even spell my name.

Hello, shrek. Well, if Miyaichi doesn’t ask to be released like every other player is rumored to have done/be doing, we’ll get a major boost in Asia.

Pours WATH a tall glass of GG. 😉 Doesn’t know what to get Will, maybe a protein shake.

77. agirlagunner says:

Well, GG is a cure-all. 😉

Nope, WATH. I couldn’t manage a leave. 🙁 🙁 The games on a Wednesday night. Ick. None of my girlfriends could either. Shame, the tickets were soooo cheap. And I’m off three more times this year; I really think I would be fired if I went AWOL. 🙁

78. W.A.T.H says:

Will, call me a complete and utter idiot tell me i am a raving fu**in lunatic if you want i don’t care I can argue and discuss anything you want and we’ll agree to disagree but dont tell me to go support another team…. Be it directly or indirectly your comments come across that whoever does not agree with you should support someone else and we’re not like that on here you been around long enough to know that. Your hot under the collar fine but I think you must read people’s comment for what they are and in general they are upset and annoyed but very few state spend 200million that we dont have, very few call wenger shit….. what we want is some intent and ambition from the club and to spend the money that we do have that “WE” yes that would be you and I put into “OUR” club year in year out and for the last 5 years that has not happened. We want our team to be competative thats not a guarantee of trophies far from it but are you not sick and tired of seeing our players bottle it every year when the going gets tough..?I want us to buy players with heart soul passion and commitment and I dont care if they cost 5p or 50million do whats needed and if that means we spend every penny we have in the bank then do so. I do not and noone lese here says spend the 50million we dont have and seeing we making yet more money from player sales its starting to leave a really crappy taste in my mouth. Now do you get where I am coming from..?

79. shrek2be says:

nope, simply because I can’t afford it , If they were coming to India , I would have surely tried. Another thing I feel is that I would rather watch Arsenal in London during an EPL match instead of a match where they would just try to entertain without any purpose.

80. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG work or Arsenal where are your priorities……. lol

It’s called phone in sick !! Use your imagination…! 😉

81. agirlagunner says:

I know, Shrek, I’d rather watch my team in London as well. If I had known earlier, I’d have used my vacation leaves more sparingly. But KL isn’t terribly expensive though. and AirAsia always has seat sales. 🙂

82. Lee says:

Rico, here’s the plan….save you walking Fido, just get a treadmill powered generator!! Problem solved…. 😉

83. Will says:

Of course I am sick and tired Wath but my go support someone else is aimed at those that want Wenger out and solely think a club is there to win trophies no matter the cost.

We are not Chelsea, we don’t buy success and then crow about how great we are because we have won 2 titles in 50 years after spending almost half a billion pounds.

84. rico says:

If only it was so simple WATH 😉

I’m pissed off agag, internet crashing, i reset it, remove cable, crashes again…. and so it carries on…

then i just typed a long comment about the world war on here this afternoon and that was lost….

what the heck is going on??

85. rico says:

Will,

we fans are all different, you have your views and i have mine BUT, under no circumstances does Highbury House condone telling fans to go support other clubs…

No fans support can be questioned, everyone is different in their view of how they want us to be…. NONE of which are wrong despite the fact you or i may not like or agree with their way of thinking…….

86. agirlagunner says:

It was nuclear, rico. 😀 Although a disarmament treaty seems to have been randomly signed. 😉

I also turned blue. 🙁 But that’s probably my fault. I am the least techie person I know. 🙂

87. W.A.T.H says:

lol if you put your bi-focals on you’d see what you was doing Rico and then you wouldn’t press the delete button 😀

88. Lee says:

We’re all kinda singing from the same hymn sheet…. It’s just so fucking frustrating, because with the right ( not necessarily expensive) signings this team could really kick on…. we want the wily ol’ Arsene back pronto!!!!

89. shrek2be says:

Just curious to know , why isn’t Ramsey showing up on those pics on the official website?

90. agirlagunner says:

WATH, I know nothing about finance stuff (except the ‘Buy Now’ and ‘Add to Cart’ buttons), but I do know my holiday leave credits are overdrawn. Tut tut.

Hola, Lee. You do sound agit. 😉

rico, crashed again??

91. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG…………… GO sick who needs holiday credits….! works for me europe away games…. all these yrs and they still have not worked out its footie that makes me sick 😉

92. Will says:

Rico, I say those that think we should get rid of Wenger and a a Jose type cheque book manager in are wrong and should be called on it.

93. Steve Palmer says:

Evening all, just got in and heard that this Sunday will be the last time The news of the world will be published apparentlly Murdock has said that all money’s taken in this Sunday will go to Charity, i was thinking perhaps he could donate it to us then we can buy a player. Shame about TNOTW finishing was looking forward to more shit news from them, and ferdinands eleven lovers, how the hell can that ugly bugger pull one bird let alone eleven

94. rico says:

Bottle bottoms WATH, thats mine 😉

agag, i’m glad, HH doesn’t do fights 😉

Lee – spot on, we are all frustrated and it’s showing…..

shrek, i think Ramsey is in there somewhere…

95. shrek2be says:

Why does Ian Wright always sound he’s swallowed something bitter when he talks abt Arsenal nowadays?

96. agirlagunner says:

Hi, Steve. Good one an accurate summation of all our frustrations. 🙁

rico, lol. Yep, this is a peaceable territory. I like it like that.

WATH, a model employee, I see. 😉

97. W.A.T.H says:

Did you expect anything else AGAG, when needs be and Arsenal are playing I somehow always feel kind of not well 😉 Amazing how a trip to europe always made me better 😛

Shrek, Wrighty comes across as all bitter and twisted a lot of the time but the man has passion for Arsenal and he hurts like we do so sometimes his comments come across and very angry and sometime anti-Arsenal and he isn’t like that at all..! He wants to see us up there and he doesn’t like us loosing players to other prem teams and look like we buying cheapskate instead of getting the quality we need.

98. Steve Palmer says:

Rico, is it rio’s eleven birds that you can’t take in.
Evening Agag always nice to hear from you, hope you wont be frustrated long, i have a sneaky feeling the Prof is about to stun us, but we will have to hear about it second hand.
Nice one Lee

99. shrek2be says:

What Wright is doing what any politician does, play to the gallery. He will encourage populist schemes( which are more often than not short-term) instead of actually getting a long term solution.
What at times I guess Wright and possibly some other players forget is that because of Wenger scouring those unknown players that Arsenal has probably been in its most successful era under Wenger after the better part of the decade of the 1930s.

100. shrek2be says:

W.A.T.H, I understand Wright having passion for us which is great ,but that doesn’t mean he should be publicly castigating AW . It only adds fuel to the fire of discontent.

101. agirlagunner says:

For whatever reason, Shrek, Wrighty IS bitter. But there is truth in a lot of what he says. Unfortunately.

WATH, I imagine if Cognac had a a proper football team, that would be your dream away tie as that’s where GG is distilled and bottled. 😉

Steve! I am, as I’ve said, optimistic(ish) about our trf window. And surely, we have to keep at least one of Cesc or Sami. Jack and Rambo will come into their own, but a year more of playing with senior(ish) players will do them a wealth of good.

102. W.A.T.H says:

Shrek, if you look at the number of ex players all of whom are saying more or less the same thing they not all wrong are they and maybe they feel that from within the club wenger needs a kick in the right direction so their comments will help either that someone within the club or wenger to see whats needed…? wht would so many make puplic comments if they didnt feel it was warranted, do they know something we don’t..? does wenger not listen to his backroom staff or are the backroom staff far to quiet and not say whats needed…? Players that have been there and done it cannot be ignored nor can they have an agenda I feel its all for the positives that they wanna see from the club and they wanna see wenger do what he used to do !!Seems they also all want the old wenger back…!

103. W.A.T.H says:

Actually AGAG I have always wanted Bordeaux away……. I can feel a week of sickness coming on…! 😉

104. shrek2be says:

I think it would be safe to say we all want the old Wenger back , the guy who had the balls to challenge Ferguson and the English way of playing football. The old Wenger didn’t have to worry about the club being in debt but even then he made sensible buys , not superstars. I doubt even he himself wants to keep talking about “mental strength” anymore. I am apprehensive of the board to be honest. I have no idea what are the actual funds we have without selling any players. A lot of the young players he has purchased haven’t repaid his faith in them.

105. rico says:

Can you believe, it take JD to speak about all the gossip…..

Just shows what our PR team are about…..

106. Steve Palmer says:

I wouldn’t want to keep players that want away, even if they are special. But i have a feeling that they think their leaving a sinking ship, but i reckon those buggers will have a rude awakening. Were not dead in the water just yet.

107. agirlagunner says:

Ah, WATH, I was 1oo kms. off. 🙂 A side trip will take you an hour if you drive fast. Two birds, one stone and all that. Or warehouses, in your case. 😛

Good, rico. 🙂 Now you can resume your peacekeeping duties. 😆

108. rico says:

BT shrek, their help base is in India i think, i have to say, they are bloody good and usually very patient….

Steve, I read about Rio’s naughtiness this morning, I bet the man wished he never took the paper to court, what a fool…

A womens football team made up of all Rio’s bits on the side 😆

109. rico says:

Eactly what i said kev.. 😉

shrek, here in the uk, many are paid to be the same, but too many are bloomin rude….

110. allezkev says:

Sunday week, expect the first edition of The Sunday Sun….
Do those pillocks really think that changing a rags name changes anything…?
News International are rotten to the core…

111. agirlagunner says:

rico, on Rio: He is so eewwww.

Boo, AK and bye AK! 🙂 🙁 Don’t you go getting fighty, too. Haaha.

Good night, all. Tomorrow, we announce our multi mega signings. 🙂 Off to dream about them now. Torres (swoon), Messi, Sneijder, VDW… We may also get Ronaldo (but only if he begs).

112. rico says:

Good point AK, they won’t just ‘die’……

I can’t stand Rio either agag, just don’t dream about him tonight, nighty to you..

113. shrek2be says:

rico says:

Eactly what i said kev.. 😉

shrek, here in the uk, many are paid to be the same, but too many are bloomin rude….

you know what I find weird ,a homeland based customer service organization’s employees are often rude/indifferent to their fellow countrymen. It happens everywhere ,even in India.

114. goonerstan says:

Is nasri leaving and how soon? I don’t want that pin head any where my team..hi guys been kinda busy lately….sell the scum to manure for all i care!

115. rico says:

shrek, so do I, I also think – if people don’t want to be nice to the public, don’t work in that fild…..

i understand exactly where you are coming from stan….

116. Steve Palmer says:

Just looking back on some of the comments and noticed that Will, has thrown one or two toys out the pram, but when you read what he says, you must admit he’s right. At the moment everybody is getting frustrated, passionate fans with only one team on their minds hoping and preying that the man in the hot seat will improve us with a few additions, many fans are watching other clubs spend like they have never ending pockets, but were a diferent kind of club, we try and build our team to reflect the money we take in with the money we spend, the last few years it appears that they take in more than what they spend, which makes me think he can spend quite a bit if he wants to, he needs to see how much he will get in through the transfer process and who exactly is going to leave before we can replace,.It seems that we are always giving Wenger time, but he must spend and i would like to see defenders in the not to distant future

117. rico says:

Steve,

I understand a lot of what Will is saying but,

Chelsea and Citeh are not cheating

No AFC Fan should be told to support another club because they disagree with Will’s views.

Wenger has given all the things that Will wrote in his earlier comment…

BUT

Wenger has now given us six years witout winning anything

He’s given us youth, youth and youth

He has signed sub standard and old has been players, or unproved.

He’s fibbed about the money available

He’s lied to the fans

He’s accepted the ST price increase yet still signs medicre players..

All of Will’s comments are from his heart and I respect them but in an internet worle, that has to work both ways and I hope Will will come back and understand that….

I don’t think anyone truly wants wenger out, yet, they just want the old wenger back……..

The same Wenger that gave us all the things Will said earlier, not the latter 4/5 seasons…..

118. shrek2be says:

Rico, how come you aren’t at the Deathly hallows premiere in London like the rest of those HP fans?

119. Steve Palmer says:

Will, will be back he’s Arsenal through and through, all the waiting has unsettled some, and people say the strangest things, we all think we know what the great man is thinking, but in all honesty i don’t even think he knows, The only thing i’m certain about is that he knows our defense is shit and he has just made it weaker, If he does FA about the back line i will shoot the bugger myself

120. rico says:

No way shrek, not me, HP means a sauce in our house, nowt else 😉

Good news then re the big russian, AFC become an open book??

121. rico says:

But that is why we are frustrated Steve, the defence is shocking and after all his words, i thought he would had moved to reassure all fans, and his own players that this would be rectified..

Empty words yet again from him and Gazidis….

I sure hope Will will be back….

122. rico says:

Steve, if i could i would, trust me……

I just wish there was a way he and Stan could work together, the ‘brains’ and the money – we’d get the best of both worlds….

123. rico says:

Guys, i am off for the day, chat tomorrow……

Be good and have a lovely evening all….

:P:

124. Steve Palmer says:

Seems like the old power struggle is holding our team up, nobody wants to put any extra in by the sound of it

125. Steve Palmer says:

AK, two pairs of legs sticking out of the bath, thought perhaps it was you and an old friend (male)

126. W.A.T.H says:

What it does Stve if he gets 30% is allow him to look at the accounts…!
The yank has 62%…! Approx…!

127. W.A.T.H says:

I don’t think hand on heart the yank is in this for the long haul….! I think he’ll sell to Usmanov…. makes himself big money on a short term investment…!

128. allezkev says:

Should be very interesting if & when he has access to the books.
How will they be able to lie through their teeth to us anymore…

129. allezkev says:

Wath, if that’s true, then why did Lady Nina sell to him, especially when she could have earned a lot more selling to AU..?

130. W.A.T.H says:

If you read between the lines AK Nina sold to the yank cos DF did so she followed suit…!

131. W.A.T.H says:

If the yank is serious he needs to get Usmanov on the board and the two need to do things together….!

132. allezkev says:

Yeah, that sounds good to me…
Not sure why so many AFC fans don’t like Ursmanov?
I think he has a bit of a checkered past, but he seems to be keen to put his hand in his pocket, unlike some of the present incumbents..

133. Steve Palmer says:

Just the way they are accumulating the odd share here and there suggests to me that they dont want to work together, and to be honest i dont know much about big business, what i do know is that the two main owners of our great club is that they dont look as it there that worried if we win or lose, at least abromoditch spends a few quid, and to him its peanuts, but it means a sight more to him than our two Do nuts

134. Steve Palmer says:

All right i’m off to come back Will i miss you already, he wouldn’t leave a fellow Gooner on his own, night all.,,

135. Joaquim moreira says:

In 20 days we play the first leg of LC….
No players, no team, no trainning, no group spirit, nothing….!!!!
Is very frustrating !
What we want and expect for this season ?
