Podolski to Turkey, Remy & Jovetic to Arsenal? Boy, don't we need them….

Morning all,

Well that has to be up there amongst some of the worst attacking displays we have seen form our side this season.

Apart from the first twenty seconds of course, which saw us score the quickest goal in a  Premier League game this season. It turned out enough in the end, mainly thanks to some strong defending and a top class save from Szczesny.

In attack, we had no width to our game, no urgency, far too much faffing around just outside the penalty area and even when we did get a chance on goal, the efforts were lacklustre. (Seen that before?)

But, we ended up with all three points and right now, that’s all what matters.

We have who we have at the club, nothing will change until the summer and Wenger isn’t going to try anything new now is he, not when we are on the best run we have been on all season. Only two more games to suffer.

We have to get that Champions League spot and look to the summer for changes and boy don’t we need them.

We could have played Qpr off the park, battered their goal for 90 minutes, only to see Robert Green play the game of his life and keep a clean sheet. That’s happened before to us, so I’m just grateful for the points on the board which have now taken us above Chelsea into 3rd place.

We’ll stay there too for a few days if Manchester United beat Chelsea later this afternoon. I don’t very often want Fergie’s lot to win anything, but for one day only, I hope they take all the points.

Rumours about Arsene Wenger hoping to Loic Remy this summer were doing the rounds quite soon after the player was signed by Redknapp. Today in The Daily Mirror, Matt Law suggests that Remy will definitely quit his current club. I think that was pretty obvious and he won’t be alone either as we all know but Remy has just a £6 million ‘get out’ clause in his contract so that has Wenger written all over it.

If we can get Jovetic, maybe Remy would be a good addition? We have to be sensible, Wenger isn’t going to spend £50+ on just two players is he and at least Remy has shown he can score in the PL. Many other clubs will be keen to sign him at such a good price but it’s us he wants to join.

The same journalist suggests that Galatasaray want Lukas Podolski and are willing to pay £12m for him this summer. Surely, if that is true, Wenger would allow the player to leave. Especially as we paid just under £11 million for him this time last year but will Wenger be ruthless enough to offload a player who clearly hasn’t adjusted to life in the Premier League, after just one season?

I doubt it, otherwise, we wouldn’t have the ‘hangers on’ that we do have…..

Next up for us is Wigan at The Emirates on Tuesday 14th May, that gives Wenger and Gazidis plenty of time to sort out a few things between now and then…

Have a good day all and enjoy this Bank Holiday weekend….

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Good match report Rico. 😉 you did not need to tear any grass or hair about writing up about yesterday. Wasnt that difficult. 😛

I do not want Podolski to go. Gervinho maybe. But not the Prinz.

Yesterday I saw Jovetic and Remy. Both are playing with their mind elsewhere. I do not go with that attitude. It smells of hypocrisy. And its not fair on the supporters who pay the wages.

  2. rico says:

    Morning devil and all…

Yesterday truly was dire wasn’t it. After our quick start, i thought they’d go and take Qpr to the cleaners. How wrong was I…

  3. Adam says:

Morning again Rico and Devil. Podolski? Bye bye. Remy? Not in a million years. Gervinho? Would you like a lift to the airport?
I could go on…But I wouldn’t know where to stop.

  4. rico says:

I don’t think Podolski will go, not after just one season.

Maybe Jovetic and Remy know their destination for next season, if so, the bigger fools are the managers who played them.

Why risk a transfer not going through, especially Arry who had nothing to gain, why not play a younger player and give him a chance.

  5. rico says:

    Morning Adam.

If you had £100 million, and you were Arsenal’s manager, who would you sign?

  6. Adam says:

Podolski did the same when he went to Bayern. He is not what we need at all, but then Wenger has a long, long history of buying players we don’t need and almost by definition, not buying those we do. Fees for Pod and Gervinho plus a few million gets you a proper striker. A bloke who turns defeats into draws and draws into wins.
As Ferguson proves year in, year to, decade in, decade out, there really is room for only a small amount of sentimentality in top level sport.
To do things a certain way because that is the way you have always done them is dumb and unimaginative.

  7. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and fellow Gooners.

Rico – Good summation of yesterdays game. It was dire, but the team ground out a win, picked-up all three points, avoided any injuries, and yes that is all that counts at this point in the season. Now the team have nine days to rest, recover and prepare for their next game.

  8. rico says:

Morning Cg… Thanks, and to you devil..

Not sure nine days rest is such a good idea, some of our lot looked as if they had started that period of relaxation yesterday evening at 5.30 pm…

  9. Adam says:

Good question Rico. But, as ever, it starts with who I would keep out of the current crop of underachievers and I fear my cull would leave me open to criticism.
But, briefly. Sagna should be sold. He has been great but is not the future. Promote Jenks and perhaps buy Lowton. Sell TV and buy another proper CB, perhaps a German or an Italian bastard. Midfield general to drive and anchor the team? Certainly. Capoue? I haven’t seen enough of him, but certainly a player who can turn a semi-defensive position into an attacking one. Not cheap, but essential. If you are going to give Santi a virtually free role then this position is absolutely critical to keep shape in my opinion. A proper winger who has pace and can get behind defences, not a converted midfielder or striker doing an apprenticeship out wide. Two super quality strikers. But, most importantly of all, they must have the intelligence to read a game and a game situation and they must be ambitious. Our CMs are too ponderous and I wouldn’t have Arteta as an automatic first team choice. Pace, power and intelligence for me and the confidence to hurt the opposition.

  10. rico says:

Reading that headline makes me seethe, like Fergie thinks he’s something special… The way Chelsea are playing, they’ll win….

Utd are not the force they think they are imho, it’s just the rest of the PL has gone downhill….

Last weekend we should have beaten them, but for a stupid mistake we would have done. But that’s been the story of our season. Stupid mistakes both at the back and up front.

    Oh, and in the middle…..

  11. Thorough says:

So funny that after 4games of going missing Theo gets no flaks while people keep wishing Gervinho would be gone. FFS if that was Gervinho in the past 3games everybody would play better. He may mess up his final touch often but he creates load of chances and keep the opposing team busy all day. And don’t give me the ‘Theo has scored 2goals’ stance, Gervinho had 2goals and assists (and one poor) miss in 3matches before Wanker dropped him. So much for favoritism.

  12. devilgunner says:

Thorough………he got no flak?? then you were not on this site mate. Here he gets a good amount of flak.

  13. rico says:

Adam, I had a feeling you would begin with a ruthless cull, as would many fans – there may be an odd 2/3 that we would differ on, but not many I suspect 😉

If only Wenger/Gazidis would do the same..

I’d like to see a ruthless goal scorer, a solid midfielder, a top goal keeper, a versatile top class defender and a proper winger…

What names to put to those positions though I don’t know. I don’t watch an awful lot of football other than us..

But we lack passion, we need players who ooze passion ….

  14. devilgunner says:

Rico you forgot something….we need players who ooze passion….AND THIGHS WHO ARE IN FASHION. :p

  15. rico says:

Thorough – Walcott is s***e of late, is that good enough for you?

He’s been criticised here daily, for his lack of interest, lack of goals ideas and defending….

It’s a toss up who is worse out of him and Gerv, but there’s something about the latter that irks me, Bradford and Blackburn spring to mind.

  16. Adam says:

Anyway Rico and Devil. It’s been fun, as usual, but now I must go and water the grass. 🙂

  17. Canadian Gooner says:

The team is starting to gel and play as a team, but they aren’t quite clicking yet. They dominated large stretches of play yesterday, but with little or no end-produst. What is the root of their problem(s) – lack of confidence, lack of the incisive killer pass to play in one of our finishers, lack of a world class striker to finish more of the chances they create? Whatever it is/they are i think we have the core for a good team. They just need two to four first class experienced players to give them that cutting edge. They are good at dominating the play, but just can’t seem to kill of the opposition. Hopefully that will be remedied this transfer window.

There are plenty of good candidates for an experienced goallie, defenders and DCM; but damn few strikers that are markedly better than what we already have. While I wouldn’t reject Jovetic or Remy, they are really not of the quality we need in a true goal poacher.

  18. Lewis says:

I’ve been bored to tears many times watching arsenal this season, but yesterday they cranked the boredom to epic proportions.

  19. Canadian Gooner says:

Adam – I agree with most of your 10:05 am posting. However, I don’t think we’ll have enough money to regenerate more than three positions. I’d keep Sagna for another year and start to play Jenkinson more as the season progresses. If we can find a good centreback for the money we could get for Vermaelen, I wouldn’t balk at the switch. Although the focus for replacements/re-enforcements should be experienced goallie, DCM, and striker. If we can do more through player sales – great.

  20. babakrdaemi says:

Nice one, great article. I have to disagree on podolski. I think he has adjusted at well. 10 goals and 12 assists I think?? Fantastic returm from our first season. Plus I see gervinho as surplus to requirements with the ox able to offer what he does.

I would be gutted to lose him even if we do bring in a striker and creative olayer like jotevic.

    Come on the gunners

  21. rico says:

    Have a good day Adam…

Cg, the problem I see is that the kind of striker we need would take a good chunk of the money Wenger has, that is of course if £70 million is true…

  22. devilgunner says:

Ha……….water the grass??? Oozing passion then?? 🙂 Enjoy Adam.

Lewis……yesterday they cranked the boredom to epic proportions…………that was simply CRACKING.

Rico………..be careful with the choice of words. Especially when you are surrounded by those whose mind runs faster than the speed of sound.

  23. rico says:

    Lewis. You and me both….

Wigan, fighting for PL survival will be a tough tough game, and play like we did yesterday, it will be one we drop points in….

9 goals in 31 to be pedantic babakrdaemi….

  24. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, 3 points is what we needed and 3 points is what we got. Not a fantastic game and no where near the kind of energy that was seen against United but points in the bag. I may be alone here, but how have we managed this position with these kind of display’s. I am at a loss. We go from week to week one minute saying we need at least 3 players then the next we could sell the whole lot and start again. I must admit this season has seen me holding my head after some abysmal displays, if i am honest i have seen some of the worst football from our team, only for them to be in third position. This league was known to be the best league in the world, how they come to that conclusion baffles me, but i can truly say that after our teams have had their arses spanked in Europe, only goes to show that has now put us down the pecking order. Arsenal football club are in a position to reach the Champions league again, but don’t ask me how. We have a very poor performing side but they have amassed enough points. I just don’t understand why, are the rest of the league so much worse than us.

    Sorry Nice One Rico. 🙂

  25. rico says:

    Hi Sp, thanks.

Because like us, many other sides, baring the two mancs have dropped points against the so called lesser sides..

I don’t know how we are sitting 3rd, but i’m sure glad we are…

  26. Wavy says:

    Sp1:
Yes! Look at manure, crap, and yet they are the champions! The league, it seems to me, has gone a long way down hill – all of the teams are poor. So we are just a little better than poor?! And that is why we are in the top 5, presently 3rd and probably 4th by tonight and maybe 5th on Wednesday night!
Actually our performances should really place us nearer 10th! Where has the startling, rapid one, two touch football gone? Where have all the goal of the months gone? Where is the Arsenal mojo?
All answers to be placed in a brown envelope and sent to A Wenger, Arse Rest Home for the super annuated ex footballers, top Floor Emirates House, Islington.

  27. Canadian Gooner says:

I wont persecute Walcott. He is a decent squad player who gives us pace down the right wing. Handy against teams with a slow left back and shaky defence. However, he is NOT now and probably never will be, a first choice centre forward. No matter how much he wants to play there on a regular basis. Take away his pace and he is no better than most of the forwards in the PL.

Rico – That is our dilema. Buying the world class striker we need would burn up most of the transfer funds we are led to believe is available. Maybe he sees something in Jovetic, maybe even Remy, that most of us don’t. Neither seem much, if any, better than what we have. Even if he finds another of his diamonds in the rough like Judas van Pursestrings or Thierry Henry, it will take a couple of seasons to cut and polish them to make them shine. Do we take a chance on an older playerlike Villa who will still cost us a lot for a player of that age. Should he go back for a player he has failed to sign or passed over before (e.g. Huntelaar)? It is going to be an interesting summer.
Maybe Ox or one of the Young Guns is ready to step up for next season.

  28. Scott from Oz says:

Podolski hasn’t played a ridiculously high number of minutes this season, so his return is decent…not great, but decent.
We looked good yesterday UNTIL we needed the final ball.
    We have no creativity.
    None.
Our most creative guys are Santi and Ramsey, who attempt the final ball, but are really not cut out for that.
I said last night that this side with Cesc and Cavani beat QPR 5-6 nil, and Utd last week 3-1.
We look worse than we actually are because goals do win matches and we do not have the goals in us.
It is fine to criticise the attack, but when we criticise the side as a whole, it is doing an injustice to the defensive side of our game. This has been our weakness for one hell of a long time, but now it is a strength.
I reckon 5 or 6 times last night i was screaming at Aaron, Santi and TR7 to take the bloody shot.
    Wtf is wrong with them?
20 yards out, hit it and you are a chance.20 yards out, stuff around and lose it and you are none.
No, we are very close to being a top side.
    2-3 players max.
Will we get them is the question.

  29. Canadian Gooner says:

SP1 – Bad as we have been, we still managed to avoid the utter humiliation that Farcelona suffered home and away at the hands of FC Bayern Munchen. At least we gave Bayern a decent series of games.

  30. Ric The Gooner says:

My dream business with a 70 million war chest would be:

    Jovetic(25 million)
    Higuan (25 million)
    Hummels (20 million)
    Lars Bender (15 million)

Total spend – 85 million, a little over but I would recoup monies with these transfers out.

    Arshavin (free)
    Squillaci (free)
    Djourou (2-3 million)
    Bendtner (5 million)
    Denilson (2-3 million)
    Gervinho (8 million)
    Chamakh (5 million)

Will it happen, not a bloody chance.

  31. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – Will Wilshere be that creative player we crave? With a few weeks of and a full summer training to get him mentally, physically and match fit; will he be the player he could be and we need? Especially if we solidify the midfield with a tall physical dedicated DCM.

Also,I think Tomas Rosicky has been our most creative player this last few games. Perhaps another year in the team to help ease Wilshere back into regular play.

  32. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, i have a simple answer….the PL is totally over rated.
Utd are a decent side, but that is it.
They are consistent, and that is the difference.

  33. Canadian Gooner says:

SP1 – I’ll leave the conspiracy theories to Adam. Though I don’t see why it would be fixed. Maybe that is my rose coloured glasses again. Time will tell, but it was extremely gratifying to see both the ‘Spanish Giants’ put to the sword. There will be more than a few players and coaches looking for a new club/job.

  34. Scott from Oz says:

    Hi CG,
    No, i do’t think so.
Jack can drive us forward from deep positions like few others.
That, to me, is not our problem.
We constantly look great until we get 25 yards out, and then our guys almost wait for something to happen.
Even QPR showed that if you push forward and get the ball into the box with speed, you can create problems.
We get 25 yards out and stop, look around, wait for someone to make a run, stutter, stammer, and after exhausting all options, pass the ball to someone who does exactly the same thing.
Jack collects and gets us forward bloody quickly, but imagine him laying off to Cesc who can weave his magic?
Giroud would have the ball exactly where he wants it 9 times out of 10 so will be more effective, and a world class striker would take us up another notch again.
Cesc and Cavani, we win the PL next season!!

  35. Scott from Oz says:

Oh, and our “70 million” will go much, much further in Spain than anywhere else at present 🙂

  36. stevepalmer1 says:

Hiya Scott, Very true mate, they have not been at their electric best i must admit , I do believe they get good refs and also good decisions but i couldn’t honestly hold my hand up and say that their games are always fixed in their favour ,but many could i’m sure.10 points a season could help an awfull lot 🙂

  37. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – You are probably correct about our money going further in Spain. I think there are more than a few teams there and elsewhere in Europe that are in deep deep debt and desperate for cash. Maybe Arsene’s parsimonious streak will get use some good players at bargain prices instead of bargain players at good prices.

  38. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, they do get better than a fair shake from refs, and there is absolutely no doubt about that.
Still, they are good enough to make the most of it.
They just play as a team and work harder for each other than every other club in the league, and that is the difference, imo.

  39. Scott from Oz says:

CG, we are a few years too late to find the bargains in Germany…Gotze two years ago would have been a great buy, but then, Wenger would have been crucified for buying another kid lol
The way Spain is going, the quality is there, but the money is not, in general.
There are more “Santis” to be had, for sure.

  40. Bradster says:

    Morning all,
I noticed yesterday that only Cazorla and Rosicky can control a ball while on the move. It may be the pitch but we seem to need to stop or take 2 touches to control the ball. Also the passes we either short or over hit. Not what I expect from professionals.

Walcott narrowing the game screws up our shape. No width makes Sagna work harder on the flank, is never there to cover, lazy to attack the full back and allowed Park to play middle and double team Cazorla because there’s only Sagna there. All he does is sprint into the box or on the CB. Too weak to receive the ball to feet as the cb just knocks him off it. Doesn’t offer himself to receive the ball or make a run so Sagna can only square or knock back to Ramsey or Rosicky.

  41. Scott from Oz says:

Bradster, i agree that Sagna is being overworked.
When Ox comes on, even though he still has plenty to learn, we look better because he is direct.
Come to think of, even Gervinho pushes forward on instinct.

  42. Canadian Gooner says:

Bradster – The game and colour commentators on the game feed I was watching mentioned that the field was dry and hard as it hadn’t been watered and due to that, it was probably a good thing Wilshere was not starting. Most times the field is watered prior to a game, sometimes overwatered. That may account for, at least in part the lack of ball control and mispasses.

  43. useroz says:

There’s a first time to everything…dozed off 2 , 3 times watching a boring game we played yesterday. Yes, we got 3 points; isn’t football entertainment as well?

Thought our players would have a bit more passion playing for a ‘trophy’ so treasured by their esteemed manager? Not this late afternoon mate.

No point picking out players for comments…the ‘team’ play was just poor with no creativity and drive. QPR had more on the day.

Don’t believe wenger would change this summer at all. He wanted the 7m+ contract extension and does his BS…just like 2008, 09, 10, 11 and last summer…

  44. Canadian Gooner says:

Well I’ve been on the go since just before our kick-off and I want to see if ManUre do us any favours with Chelski. So I’m of to bed to catch a few hours sleep before their game. It’s good morning from me and good afternoon or evening to you. Keep the faith!

  45. devilgunner says:

The problem with TR07 is that AW does not usually play him before January, injured or not.

  46. Adam says:

CG. What conspiracy theories have I proposed, except that we are really, rather bad and that we need change at our club?

  47. tsgh says:

Rico.. I was right you are very good with words… A very good post indeed. 😀

    Afternoon btw…

The pitch was bubbly… and a few players in attack are tired. In defence of SC19, I think he has played 5 or 6 games too many for his first season… maybe if Ox and TR07 were not injured or out of form during parts off the season he might have got a rest. Players like Poldi and Gerv have not been consistent enough… but I predict that if Gerv stays with 18 months left on his contract… Jamie (tight pants) Rednapp will be asking why we allowed Yao contract to run to only 18 months left… 😉

As I always say Theo is a big game player… he has scored one goal more than TH14 ever did in a cup final…

The usual suspects MA08 and Ramsey were like terriers… and they did not have to do a ‘Tiote’ either… 😛

  48. kel says:

The only thing i can say about yesterdays game is, for fs will somebody pull the trigger within 20 yards of goal. Anyhow Let’s hope vp does the damage today and helps us out, I can just see the sports headline tomorrow “Rvp saves Arsenal again”… but come wed, what result do we want when Chelsea play spurs?, I’m thinking if utd get a win today, and Chelsea win on wed, that leaves us 4th 2pts ahead of spurs, needing to acquire 4pts against Wigan and Newcastle, worst case I think is Chelsea win today and spurs beat Chelsea… 🙁 im even hoping Liverpool win, so Everton have something to play for on the final day at Chelsea lol..

  49. tsgh says:

… and Celtic beat Barcelona this year… football is football.

Fergie plays 25 such games every year and still wins trophies when the ref manages to find an extra extra time and award a penalty in injury time…

cheers up folks… when we had Cesc and the likes and we played like BVB do today almost every match day, we were almost always getting sucker punched… we now have of 6 solid disciplined (back 4 and MA08 and Ramsey) players working harder than Gattuso on steriods…. all we need is 3 big game players to push us over the line…

Any one know why our amigos (excluding Arteta of course) struggle in the heat…?

  50. tsgh says:

Another proof that those wanting Mourinho will be killed of boredom.. if we are complaining about our performance now

  51. rico says:

Ric – sorry for the delay in letting you out of moderation…

You are right, not a chance 🙁

  52. rico says:

    Sleep well Cg…

Thanks Ts, not sure it’s that good though but then maybe you like it as I’m not battering the players or AW 😉

Mind you, they deserve to be battered…

  53. tsgh says:

Most of us saw the match and imho it was not worth re-hushing it as it was unspectacular to say the least… but I think you said what you had to say and of course you get an extra 5 points for not bashing Ramsey and AW… 🙂

I think it is that time of the season where 3 points matter the most. If you consider that $hitty drew with a team that have nothing to play for in Swansea…

  54. Gonerjoe says:

Hi Rico just a thought on the Wigan game we have 10 days off and Wigan will be playing mid-week and 90-120m at Wembley on Saturday before they face us. Arsenal being Arsenal any thing could happen but I feel Wigan will be knackered at some time during our game which we should be able to take advantage off.

  55. rico says:

I think 3 points are all that matters too Ts, and to be honest, I’m bored of battering Ramsey 😉

Hi Gjoe, good point there about Wigan, sad though isn’t it that we are even hoping they are exhausted from their FA Cup final.

At home, we should be beating sides like Wigan, but if they are fighting for PL survival, I am sure Martinez will be able to get his players motivated…

  56. rico says:

Just off to cut the grass, unlike some, ours grows and needs trimming every now and again. Not simply sweeping 😉

  57. kel says:

gonerjoe, lets hope so, because i remember around this time last yr, wigan came to the emirates and played us off the park 🙁 i think we are seriously missing big giroud atm, never thought i’d be saying that.

  58. emma says:

    Good post rico,
Glad we had the 3pts yesterday. It doesnt matter at this stage of the season how we got it. Its all about grinding out the result and we have 1 less match to worry about.

I am not expecting any favour from red nose today. I will be so surprise if he starts with a strong line up against the chavs. He must be bitter that arsenal denied him from breaking the league record of 95pts. I hope he proves me wrong and that whoever he fields are up for it. Fingers crossed hope the result go our way.

  59. Gonerjoe says:

Hi Kel last season we got caught on the hop at the start of game. I would think it’s fair to say after that we were the better team but couldn’t score the goals needed.

  60. Carpe diem... says:

Great post rico, I salute your courage. Writing a review for such a match…more power to your elbow.

    Off topic;
    Jovetic’s performance last night…

Jovetic seemed disinterested not because of his impending move, it was due to the fact that he’s just coming off a hamstring injury. There is the tendency to be more tentative shortly after such injury (see Messi vs Bayern)

He’s much better than what we saw last night.

  61. kel says:

the usual scenairo gonerjoe, play well cant score 🙁 but we really should be beating wigan at home fs, it just goes to show how far we have fallen in terms of quality…

  62. Gonerjoe says:

I think that’s unfair in regards to Wigan they also beat Manu last year as well. I think we will win against Wigan fingers crossed but you never know with football.

  63. rico says:

emma – Fergie has to field his strongest, otherwise the FA might rap his knuckles…. 😉

  64. rico says:

Gjoe, they’ll sure give us a tough game…

We’ll need to be ready and up for that game…

  65. emma says:

rico – He has kept De Gea, rooney and rio on the bench. Fingers crossed result go our way

  66. rico says:

What a turd that man is emma… Fingers firmly crossed…

Gjoe, and Wigan are tired surely, I am 😉

  67. Gonerjoe says:

Kel thats football we can see the same thing and come away with different opinions fingers crossed.

  68. emma says:

He wasn’t happy last week when we denied him the chance to break the PL record pts of 95 held by the Chavs. Hope whoever he has out turns up today

  69. Gonerjoe says:

Rico just 2 games left then we can enter a whole new tiredness who’s leaving who’s joining. And is he good enough for Arsenal. That Manu Team? Choose your own words to describe Fergie.

  70. rico says:

The only good thing emma is, Fergie doesn’t like losing, regardless of who they are playing…

Gjoe, spot on, and won’t it be fun…. 🙄

  71. devilgunner says:

    Good Afternoon Lady and Gentlemen.

Whatever happens in the last rounds of games, we are guaranteed to play in Europe. Whether we play on Tuesday/Wednesday or else on Thursday is still to be found out.

Regarding the Manure team………It still is a strong team. With the exception of Carrick I think its a good choice.

Whatever team Sir Red nose chooses he will always be a KOONT.

  72. devilgunner says:

Manure are not compact today. They are too open and spread out. The chavs have not tested them that much but they have the larger amount of possession.

  73. devilgunner says:

Fergie would prefer the chavs and us in the Champions lge to the scum………that would make it easier for him to buy Bale.

Opppppppppsssssss. that could have been nasty that shot by Oscar.

What is the K word Rico???

  74. devilgunner says:

Oscar was given an open invitation to run at the Manchester United defence. Casual defending from United there

  75. devilgunner says:

hehehe I was pulling your leg trying to catch you off guard.

Has anyone noticed that for all the money that Shitty have spent we have scored more than them. And we have conceded the same amount of goals as Manure. We have the third best defence in the EPL. If Manure concede today we would be alone in 3rd place. If the chavs concede two we would go 2nd behind shitty only.

  76. devilgunner says:

Will Howard Webb award Manure a Pen? Probably.

Hang on…..the lge is won so there is no need for it.

  77. devilgunner says:

that could have easily been a goal on par to the one he scored for us against Charlton. Giggs simply cut the chavs defence apart.

  78. tsgh says:

Typical manure performance… infact this is one of their best performances all season…

  79. devilgunner says:

Torres is branded a failure; if 20 goals this season is a fail I don’t know what people expect

  80. tsgh says:

ha ha ha… people have frustrating lives so they tend to vent all their misery on footballers

  81. tsgh says:

everyone wants to stick one to the Arsenal… how can fergie justify this selection and performance…

  82. devilgunner says:

yesterday Fiorentina pummelled Roma black and blue. Having 9 shots on target and an astronomical 38 shots off target. Roma rode their luck. then on the 93rd minute they went up. forced their first corner of the game and won with a header.

  83. rico says:

That’s just why i was pleased we got 3 points yesterday devil. How often have we battered sides but failed to score?

Well,, battered my be pushing it a bit 😉

  84. tsgh says:

No i guess my comment didn’t make sense… what I am saying is that they never play well… and that they even look better today…

  85. devilgunner says:

I know Rico. I saw him just walking around in circles. He has not touched the ball yet.

Sian Massey has quite a nice voice.

  86. devilgunner says:

I hate the “I told you so” comment.

    BUT…..I told you so.

Tell me again….how many minutes are left?

  87. rico says:

Esp, yes. But we won’t, we don’t do things like that. Same as with tapping up players….

  88. rico says:

Webb has obviously wanted to show the world of football that he doesn’t favour Man Utd with the sending off….

  89. devilgunner says:

Its simple now. If we win both our next games and the chavs win their game vs the scum then we are on 4th place.

  90. rico says:

Off to light my BBQ now… Have a great evening guys and gals…

Catch you later or tomorrow if you have gone by the time I return…..

  91. Canadian Gooner says:

Good evening all. David Luiz suckers Rafael into fouling him and Rafael is sent-off. Neither wonder Auld Whisky Nose is rumoured to be wanting to sell him.

  92. Canadian Gooner says:

We should have known that ManUre wouldn’t do us any favours, whether they wanted to or not.

  93. devilgunner says:

    Hang on mates.

    Yes everyone wants Champions lge.

But I can assure you that being in the Europa will do good as well to our club….especially in the group stages where AW can rest a lot of players for the lge and play with the reserve ones and the young ones.

I agree about the players and the money the CL bring. but the Europa is good for the development of kids.

The only snag is that the scum will finish above us for the first time in 20 years.

  94. kel says:

well there ya have it, utd didnt turn up! lets hope chelsea beat spurs now, leaving us needing 4pts outta the last 2 games…

  95. emma says:

Like I said earlier, red nose is pissing us for not allowing him to break the PL record of 95pts. Dont expect favours. Wenger might need to buy a wine for Rafa to either beat the scums or hold them to a draw on wednesday.

  96. devilgunner says:

barbeque Lady? what are you roasting??? Rabbit, pig, turkey, bull, veal, horse???

I thought you do not eat meat??? 😉

  97. tsgh says:

Wigan still fighting for survival may be a good thing… especially with the FA final coming up… they would at least not pack the bus when they visit…

  98. devilgunner says:

Rafael would be an upgrage on what we have. And he is more direct and a better crosser than Sagna.

  99. tsgh says:

on thenews that whales have caviar… i am off to the west end to meet a friends and his new ukrainian mrs…

    later folks… lol

  100. devilgunner says:

And I am off now my friends. A great relief being on this blog the majority of today. but now I have other things to do.

    cu tomorrow lady and lads.

  101. rico says:

Halloumi, peppers, mushrooms and onions Devil. I don’t feel the need to kill an animal to feed myself….

  102. rico says:

Actually, I think I will follow suit. After all, it’s a holiday here in the UK, so a night off…

    Chat tomorrow guys/gals…

    Stay safe, night all

  103. Wavy says:

I told you the fix was in!
Wednesday’s game result in a scum win, to push us into 5th and there we shall remain.
I know the chavs have been playing quite well and manure had nothing to play for, except pride, and we all know the have none, so why bother too much. Old rednose will be able to say that he helped us out of the cl thus breaking our qualification stranglehold in the competition.
    Sweet!

  104. devilgunner says:

    gd night lady.

No Cesc in the Farca side. not even as a sub.

but an unfit Messi is on the bench

  105. devilgunner says:

Something has happened in this Farca team. They play as if they had just met for the first time.

The team with Song in it just does not function. Its like having a Volkswagen beetle trying to get the limousines going.

Thank God we got rid of him.

  106. Scott from Oz says:

    Just read an interesting stat.
We have a player who is the most successful tackler in the top 5 European Leagues.
Now, considering most think he runs around like a headless chook and does nothing, what does this tell us?
    Onya Aaron.
Over 90.74% completed successfully, but the 90.74% of fans who say he can’t play are right 🙂

  107. allezkev says:

Don’t know about you lot, but I’m really looking forward to the Europa League…

Hapoel Nicosia, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Dinamo Sebastopol, Ankara Athletic, HJ Helsinki, Skonto Riga, Valletta Malta (piss-up with Coach), Torpedo Vladivostok, think of all the great away games…
    It’s gonna be a blast.
Forget the boring old Champions League.
Thursday night is Arsenal night, hooray… 🙁

  108. Scott from Oz says:

    Kev, keep the faith buddy.
Spuds may leaving later than normal, but they will still stuff up!!

  109. rico says:

Scott, would that be the same stat site which showed Denilson to be a great midfielder 😉

Kev – Nor am I and I think thats where we will end up…
