Petr Cech saga takes a twist. Arsenal won’t win the league if they sell to the rivals…

Morning all.

So, PSG have dropped out of the race to sign Petr Cech according to French newspaper L’Equipe as they believe he’s heading to Arsenal but let’s be honest, if that under tall ‘man’ has his own way, there would be little to no chance that that would happen.

When Arsene Wenger signed Mesut Ozil he pooped his pants so much, he wouldn’t even loan us Demba Ba in fear of him bettering us so the mere thought of Cech heading our way must have him throwing all his little toys out of his very small pram. Thankfully, Roman Abramovich seems to be the man who will have the final say.

Jose will know that a top class goal keeper, which Cech is, will earn us points and I bet he’s scared stiff of that as he’ll also know Arsenal are the closest side to knocking him off his perch! Cech together with a quality central midfielder would really strengthen this current squad and if Arsene Wenger is ready to add more to our attacking force, then all the better.

Yesterday Mourinho apparently made some kind of comment, one very typical of that idiot, about how he’d want a player from whichever club Cech wants to sign for in exchange for his keeper:

Asked if he thought Abramovich would let the player go:

Perhaps. Perhaps. But if every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player that I like in that team too.

So who could he have his eye on at Arsenal?

Diaby? Podolski? Sanogo? Campbell? Ryo? No, I doubt it but apart from those and maybe a couple of others, there’s not an Arsenal player I’d like to see playing for the Chavs. Rumour is he’s got his eye on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Theo Walcott but there’s no way imo that Arsenal would/should allow either to move, certainly not after the RvP saga. I doubt either of the two players would want to move there in any case as why would they want to leave an exciting attacking side for a defensive and quite boring style of football.

As I’ve suggested before, with just a few final pieces of the jigsaw brought in this summer, we’ll be a very strong force in the league. I’d even go so far to suggest we could be champions this time next year but we won’t if we strengthen Chelsea by giving them any of our players.

The transfer window is officially open here in the UK, so maybe we’ll soon get some good news in what will hopefully be a good summer for Arsenal.

England women were beaten 1-0 by France last night. Feisty old game, especially in the second half when Laura Bassett was elbowed in the face by Camille Abily. Looked pretty deliberate to me and how the French player stayed on the pitch I don’t know…

I guess when it comes to officials, some things seldom change….

Have a good Wednesday folks….

Good Morning Gooners, AKB’s, Doomers, Munchers, Mods, Rockers, Punks, Mick, New Romantics and all….

Morning Rico, just off to read your post.
    It looks a good ‘un…..

  2. allezkev says:

I disagree Rico, it was good…

Mourinho loves his little games, the miniature arsehole that he is…

It’s really all down to Petr Cech..!

If he digs his heels in and insists that Abramovitch keeps his promise, then he could be ours, regardless of what the Portuguese Prick says. A lot of his comments are an exercise in saving him from fans’ criticism ‘Nuffing to do with me’ etc etc…

Chelsea have no class and they’re run by people with zero scruples so expect the worst from them…

  3. rico says:

    Hi Scott..

I see ‘the wally with the brolly’ is going to be the Newcastle manager. That’s 6 points in the bag then… lol

  4. allezkev says:

As it is I’m still coming to terms with the enormous disappointment of seeing Derby County pipping us to the signature of Bent…

    Wenger Out! 😀

  5. allezkev says:

    Still there’s always a silver lining…

I’m looking forward to seeing Lee in his new Arsenal shirt, with Bender on the back, when Sven or Lars or both move to the Grove…

    Morning All
This window for a change we can wait till 31st August,
For once we have strength in depth.
Wenger can afford to wait now…….Maureen can’t
Lets hope wenger makes him sweat…..

  7. rico says:

    🙂 Kev, thanks…

I’m with you re Mourinho, game playing to save face. I’m optimistic that Roman will keep his word and let Cech decide where his future is….

  8. tsgh says:

    Good read.

I can’t believe Bt sports has hired another scouser. It appears every channel or station you tune to watch footie will have an ex-bin dipper as an ‘expert pundit’

  9. allezkev says:

Nobody slags off Arsenal and talks more shit, better than a Scouser.

Stands to reason that they are in demand as TV pundits…

  10. Joe says:

Cech would be a good buy and is the kind of keeper that will save us extra points over the season.
Not sure doing business with Chelsea is good for any clubs health. But if Wenger wants a new keeper and is looking to buy Cech he needs to set a date to get the transfer complete if not meet move on to the next keeper on his list or stick with what we got.

  11. potter says:

No not mine Steve Gerrard’s got to keep him gainfully employed , he has bills to pay apparently just ask his missus.

  12. Wath says:

    Afternoon……….

Cech to us only if the dwarf dies a horrid painful death I reckon..!

    Scott check ya phone.

  13. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico – Another interesting article. While I don’t normally like to contemplate someone soiling themselves, the image seems strangely apt for Maureen Yo.

Kev – “miniature arsehole”? Come sir, the Petulant Portuguese Pygmy is a wonder of nature. How can so much anus be squeezed into such a small package? The packaging industry should put him under the microscope to ascertain his secret.

  14. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – “Or Mario Balotelli?” You sir should have your mouth washed out with Granny Clampett’s homemade lye soap. Even in jest that is a horrible thought.

  15. allezkev says:

No Rico, I’m serious, Adam and I were discussing the advantages of having such a quality player in the squad like SuperMario.

    Especially on the 5th November…

CG, oh yea of little faith…

  16. tsgh says:

Potter- with Sir Steve G’s wife spending habit, no wonder he has landed on our TV. I hope he is not another scouser with tight trousers on the TV…

I wonder how none of these so called English loving ex-pros have bothered to help youngster in their communities achieve their dreams of becoming pro-footballers like they did by becoming coaches?

  17. Wath says:

Rico, Am not that keen on Martinez either tbh, think we need someone who is 22/23/24 IF we are to buy a striker and someone who is in the Aguerro mold but then there only seems to be Aguerro..!

In my mind am with you, get a top quality keeper and a def mid and anyone else would be a bonus but those two areas are where we need most to compete with knocking the Chavs off the pedestal that the dwarf thinks they seem to own.

  18. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – Do I detect the early signs of the return of the Reverend Kev? Saving poor souls such as Adam by bringing them to the House and then questioning my faith. This may well be an interesting summer. The return of the Reverend may lead us to the light of truth in this sea of lies, rumours and fevered ravings of the mendacious vipers of the commercial media.

  19. rico says:

Wath, I’m not sure AW would pay the kind of money quoted for Martinez, heck of a risk for a 28 year old who is unproven in the PL…

  20. Canadian Gooner says:

Now there is another image to contemplate, Maureen apoplectic with rage on the sidelines of Smirnoff Bridge as the New Arsenal systematically dismantle his waning team.

With Abu Dhabi Citeh losing the likes of Milner and Chelski also in need of home grown/English players – what price for Sterling. No wonder Maureen is interested in in Theo or The Ox in exchange for Cech. Where are all those young promising English players they both were warehousing so no other BPL teams could get them?

  21. Canadian Gooner says:

Wath – I think Arsene agrees with you. Last season we tried to sign Morata, but lost him to Juve. This season we Dybala and again it seems we will lose him to Juve.

  22. tsgh says:

Hernandez is available; he is still capable of banging in the goals at the top level…
His loan to RM was not very successful but he was only brought in as cover…

  23. Wath says:

Cg, I think if we really really wanted Morata we would of got him, maybe he was one of those players Wenger faffed over and then we lost out…!

I am in shock and devastated, it seems we have let Diaby go…!

It cannot be true….. Surely not….!

  24. Wath says:

Tend to agree with you as well on the age of Martinez as well regarding the fee Rico, can’t see it happening.

Always liked Hernandez Ts, just don’t think we’d go that route…!

  25. Canadian Gooner says:

    Wath – Re: Diaby

Please let it be so. A talented player, when he was so rarely fit to play, but the most massive waste of wages for Arsenal in the 21st Century.

  26. `Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
The following players have been released.
Diaby Ryo Ajayi Jebb Lipman Ottiwell Vickers Smith and Wright. More to follow I think

  27. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Afternoon Lovelies and Hunkies.

    Joy to the world
    Diaby has gone,
it is a greatly special thing

    Miyachi’s gone as well,
let us all ring the bells
Cech and Vidal to come in
    Martinez completes the ring

Poor lad. a wonderful player but sadly contributed little due to injuries.

  28. tsgh says:

Black Wednesday.. King Abou gone. 🙁

Cg- I think Morata and Dybala were not good enough for us imho…

Dybala is no better than Jovetic imho…

    I like Bentaleb- Wath

  29. tsgh says:

    Definitely a Shemitah year…
King Abou the legend can’t be gone.

Maybe a trip to OM or St Ettiene will do him a world of good…

  30. Hell Raising Devil says:

bdw…..good post boss. I liked it.

AW is in a super position with regards Cech. the team played well with Ospina so he knows that if the Cech situation does not materialise he has a good keeper. So if the miniature infertile dick plays hard ball AW will walk away. he will not be held to ransom.

  31. scottfromoz says:

I can’t help but feel sorry for a talent wasted.
Wenger stuck by him….loyalty is a dying thing, especially in football.
It had to happen though, no question.

  32. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – He needs a trip and a long stay at Lourdes. I wish him well, but also a fond farewell.

  33. Joe says:

Agree Scott it was not Diaby fault that he had his career destroyed I must say I am sad to see him go.

  34. Wath says:

    CHeres CG,

I like Bentaleb as well Ts, good young player and solid…! good technique but also gets stuck in

  35. Wath says:

They both have 3/4 yrs on him though Dev, If he not happy to sign a new contract with them he would in my mind def be worth nabbing…!

  36. tsgh says:

Wath- AW was after him before he left ligue . He is a gooner like Sherwood who gave him his chance.
He and Erikson were the sperds better players; unfortunately he is a bit of a yellow card machine though.

  37. tsgh says:

Geoffrey is top player. I haven’t seen much of him this is doubt Kondogbia will move to London.

Because of Toulalon, Fabinho and Moutinho Kondogbia hasn’t played much as DM or box to box midfielder all season … from the games I saw and from a ligue 1 viewer I know. Maybe Snap could update us when he comes by…

I think he likes to dribble too much out of dangerous situations and so he is being played further up by Jardim.

I think Toulalon and Gonalons were rated the best French born defensive midfielders.

I heard he is being touted as replacement for Yaya…

  38. tsgh says:

for a purely destroyer DM sense G Kychowiak is arguably the best available to us.
On the other hand I think Lucas is the best CDM in the league ouside of the 3 well known ones of Le Coq, Matic and Morgan S. who in my view had a very por season.

  39. tsgh says:

Rico/Wath I know you have an eye on the English players.
what do you think of George Boyd? I think he a very strong player who chips in with goals too…
very under rated for obvious reason.

  40. rico says:

    Evening all..

My tears have finally stopped flowing after hearing the Diaby news….. 😉

Jack Jebb gone too, well that’s a shock….

  41. Micko says:

Oh what an atmosphere…..I love a party with a happy atmosphere…..so let me take you there……

I’d love to say thanks for the memories Abou but I can’t think of any lol.

  42. George says:

Afternoon troopers….no more “Diaby will e like a new signing” then? Strange Ajayi was let go as well. Miyachi was never gonna make it to be fair. He was anpther experiment gone wrong, maybe not as bad a signing as Amaury Bischoff lol..

Will be interesting to see who else is off…

    My money is on :

Podolski (will end up in Turkey or back at Cologne)
Campbell (will sell to a spanish club and get goo money for him)
Sanogo (no takers , will go on loan abroad and disappear)
Akpom (will get frustrated on loan)
Maitland Niles (his mum will mess that one up)
Martinez (wont hang around and be 3rd choice again)

  43. Micko says:

Chelsea still had the last laugh that day rico, just glad to see the back of the broken donkey, should have gone years ago.

Howdy George, you still living life in the fast lane ?

  44. George says:

Been busy Micko, doing well here in Dubai…Can’t say I miss England, just my nipper… Broken donkey lol….If i recall , just before I left , diaby’s house was up for sale, so I doubt he’s staying in North London….

Not fit for 10 mins, but he would run to the Greek restaurant in Hadley wood for a kebab…

  45. rico says:

You know what Micko, out of 167 games he played in, all I remember him for is that JT incident, the own goal against Utd and the stupid sending off against Newcastle…..

  46. Micko says:

    rico, it’s been emotional hasn’t it !

George, Dubai or Potters Bar, that’s a real toughie mate, don’t envy ya !

  47. allezkev says:

Come along Malaga, it’s Cech, not cech…

You could cause a right old rumpus on here with those kinds of errors….

Lee is a stickler for grammar….
I’ve seen him explode when someone has missed out the correct punctuation….

    As for Adam…
Don’t upset him or he’s liable to come around your house with a meat cleaver…

It can get really messy on here… 🙂

  48. rico says:

Kev, if that’s the case, watch out for my lack of capital letters and spelling mistakes… always like to cause a rumpus, especially on my own site…. Lol

  49. Micko says:

Kev, HH is a place where you can come on and chat about all things Arsenal without worrying about your grammer, you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror buddy, I’ve got your back Malaga…..bloody elitists !

  50. Joe says:

Sleep tight gooners it looks like that the Diaby story at Arsenal is not quit over according to L’ Equipe. Reported in the Metro 🙂

  51. potter says:

Rumour has it that they want Lloris , and that Tottenham would also fit fit Cech’s ambitions of regular football except of course Champions League.
