Pause until August? A pocket rocket from the past.

Ok, I really am steering clear of anything Covid-19 and I’m asking you guys to do the same unless your comments are directly related to football and or sport in general. The best way through this frightening time is by listening to our own parliamentary figures and heeding the advice they offer. I don’t want to start binning comments but I will if Covid-19 or Coronavirus becomes the main topic of serious discussion. Places like this are meant to be a diversion right now, somewhere to talk about Arsenal old or new. If it’s not working, then there’s no point in me bothering until the season starts up again. Until it does, there’s plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained like having a peep a Book of Dead Slot Review. When the fun stops though, quit.

Somebody suggested this idea to me yesterday about how the FA could deal with finishing this football season. I thought it was bonkers to start with and 24 hours later, I’m still not convinced by it so I thought I’d get your views.

Instead of trying to end this season in a rushed way and without their fans support within the stadium, simply freeze the season. Then start again in August as scheduled if it’s safe to do so by then. Every club begins the new season in the position they currently hold and with the same points tally. All the Cups, both domestic and European do the same. Yes there’d be nine or ten extra fixtures added to the domestic campaign but with so few Cup fixtures going on, fitting them in would be pretty easy. Something to think about at least.

The Mirror have a story which suggests players across the leagues really don’t want to play right now. Why?

  • They fear for their own safety amid strict Government warnings over social distancing
  • It could put their own families in jeopardy if they then become infected
  • Extra strain would be placed on emergency services with ambulances, paramedics and security would be needed at a time when they are already being stretched to the limit
  • They do not want to play in empty stadiums with loyal fans being locked out

Who can can blame them? No, not me either.

Mikel Arteta is not only feeling much better but he’s the recipient of some high praise too. Our Brazilian youngster, who I think is one of the players most Arsenal fans wouldn’t want to see leave anytime soon, has been talking about his head coach in the April addition of FourFourTwo magazine.

He’s been brilliant. He pays a lot of attention to moves and keeps pushing me to improve my game; not only in attack but defence, too, The boss is very wise tactically and incredibly helpful. He’s not an angry guy at all, but likes showing you exactly what to do on the pitch: “If the ball goes that way, don’t stay here, go there and turn your body that specific way.” He has a keen eye for detail.’

I think Martinelli has been really good. Not only is he young but for the first time in a new club in a new country, he’s taken to the English game like a duck to water. We should see a lot more of him next season that’s for sure and for many seasons to come if what he’s said is true.

I want to win the Champions League and lots of domestic titles to make Arsenal’s fans very happy. They deserve the best – not only the supporters but all of the club’s staff. I’d like to give back to the club after everything they’ve done for me so far and, as a result, become a Gunners legend.

Words are easy I know but at least when he plays, he always gives everything. He’s a grafter, he’s skilful and he gets in the right kind of place at the right time. Eddie is another who has a bright Arsenal future ahead of him if he continues working hard and scoring goals.

Here’s today’s Arsenal classic from the past. We didn’t win this one but what a performance by one little maestro…

Stay safe guys and think of others as well as yourself..

Hi Rico well put The more I think about soccer world wide being suspended I think it would be a great to have a once off transfer season from say 1st of may to 31 of may world wide and allow all team to get to know new players ready for next season and if we manage to play this season out then you can not use new player until next season start

Hi potter sure it’s not the soccer players all playing FIFA 2019 to get in some practice just incase they have to finish the home and away season by playing FIFA 2019 live against each club

Hi guys, my internet is slow too but I haven’t paid my bill.. lol

Loved Arshavin, he carried us through to top four that season he arrived on a cold winters day. He had the kind of impact Utd’s January signing was having on them.

Not sure what happened between Arshavin and Wenger though, something did surely?

There will not be any real news just conjecture until this is over . Rumour upon rumour but no facts , still the Olympics are off , not that it don’tbother me much like everyy other sporting event it has outgrown it’s origins . Citius , altius , fortius .
