Morning all.
Little bit of gossip in the papers:
Argentinia defender Nicolas Otamendi, who can play right-back and centre-half is being monitored by Arsene Wenger according to The Mirror and the same paper write that Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista has insisted Arsenal are trying to sign him – and says it would be “excellent” to move to the Emirates.
Can’t see either being true as Visa’s would be an issue. Winston Reid surely has to remain the favourite.
The Express report that Arsenal have opened talks with Roma over a possible bid for Mattia Destro. Apparently he’s seen to be the striker to replace Lukas Podolski.
The Mail Online have done it again….
This was an Arsenal that stuck at it, that grafted, that played City on the counter attack, that soaked it up, that were tenacious, determined, superb without the ball. And yet they had the best chances, too. Arsenal in possession were quick and had purpose. City were ponderous, hesitant.
Is there a better way to describe how we played?
Shame they only gave Mike Dean 4 out if 10 for his performance….. Lol
Scott has very kindly written his views about yesterdays mighty performance and great result:-
Today’s post I write with a smile on my face, and joy in my heart.
A few days back, I posted the topic of AKB v WOB, and those in between, but yesterday I can say that all Gooners put away opinions, and simply enjoyed a performance worthy of any cost, be it financial or otherwise, we endure as Arsenal fans.
Let’s put one thing to bed, if it actually needs to be said now……Wenger CAN do tactics.
That’s one question that has been answered categorically. It raises another though…..why doesn’t he do them more often?
Who knows, but let’s not get into that as we shouldn’t look for any negatives at all after yesterday’s game.
It hit me this morning after the game, and I concede I’m not an expert on tactics, that we have wasted a hell of a lot of time playing the tiki taka style of football, as we simply aren’t set up for it, and the PL is not the right League to succeed with anyway, IMO.
Watch any footage of our era surrounding the Invincibles season and one thing stands out- we counter attacked in numbers, and at high speed, and a quick scan of our current playing list suggests we have everything needed to play exactly the same way. It’s a style that will never go out of fashion, and if done right, can not be stopped.
Coquelin and Ramsey were superb, offering cover to our back four who were surprisingly, rarely under pressure except for a ten minute spell after half time.. The French lad has the talent to be a huge player for us, but with Arteta out and Flamini being rather average, we still need another DM asap, though it seems no new purchase would be the walk up start into our eleven we’d have though 2 weeks back.
Hats off to him for putting his attitude to one side and getting down to business.
Aaron’s positional sense was subtle, but very, very effective, and I’d suggest a lot of his work went unnoticed. Koscielny owned Aguero, and Merts made one solitary tackle, which speaks volumes about those in front of him, whilst Bellerin was also fantastic, and Nacho is a top player who gets the job done.
That back 6, if you like, were controlled and composed, and allowed our speedsters to drive forward at high tempo, putting Citeh under pressure with every attacking wave.
Santi Cazorla is in world class form, it’s that simple. Why? Who cares but long may it continue and I’d happily leave Ozil on the bench whilst the little Spaniard is playing like he’s ten feet tall and bullet proof. His work rate has coincided with playing centrally, and his form is better than ever.
There are plenty of games coming up, so Mesut will get his chance, though it’s nice to think he doesn’t need to be rushed back in. Ox is really turning into a beast, scaring the pants off opponents as he takes them on at top speed, and challenging them every time he gets the ball. He’d run himself into the ground not long after half time, but that’s what we need from him, as he also blows out his opponents buy forcing them to work their backsides off, allowing fresh legs to come from our bench against weary opposition. And that’s just what Rosicky did when he came on by simply keeping the momentum going….what a great player he is, and here’s hoping we keep him on.
Alexis was his normal brilliant self, and it was almost lovely to see him not score, as it shows all the experts that we aren’t a one man band, though maybe some of our guys are learning from watching the little Chilean and understand effort is much more relevant to performance than talent is.
Whatever the reason, every one of our guys put in a shift and we were so good that Ospina barely made a save, though what he did, he did without fuss or fanfare and must keep his spot until form dictates otherwise.
That game gave us a blueprint, IMO, for the perfect style and plan for the current Arsenal squad to play. There’s little, if any, chance we can perform that well week in, week out, but we don’t need to, as that level of performance is required to beat the very best of opponents, where even 95% of that capacity is enough to beat most.
Don’t let anyone kid you into thinking the penalty was anything but a penalty, and how Kompany lasted 90 minutes is a mystery…well, not really, but you know what I mean. Santi nailed the penalty, and he’s looking more and more confident every time he stands over one. The little man then provided a lovely free kick which Giroud met with his head in solid fashion.
The result was massive, only equalled by the passion and effort the lads displayed and I’m sure the reward was there for them to see, so let’s all hope it kick starts the remainder of the season as we’ve got some pretty decent competitions still “up for grabs”.
Arsene, you did it, now watch the replay and don’t change a single thing.
Written by Scott…
1st
2nd…,,as were Citeh yesterday 🙂
Bang……… 🙂
Nice match report Scott.
Good Morning Sparklers and Lighters.
It is a good morning to wake up in. And the morning feels good whether we want it to be good or not. And it feels such a good morning that it is easy to wish you all good morning on such a good morning.
Bamboozled??? oh never mind.
Only 4 out of 10 Rico??? Dean got only 4??? He should have got 40 out of 10 not 4. Yesterday he reffed damn well and we have no complaints. Actually he should have been made MOTM imo, although the linos ran him close as well. From our team CAzorla, Coquelin, Ramsey all stood out….but the whole team put in a shift.
Morning again all…
Good post Scott, I posted it early before you go to bed… 🙂
Devil, when Dean booked Kos early I feared the worst from the idiot with the whistle but for once, he had a decent game, although I’m not sure how Kompany remained on the pitch…
Funny, Devil, but plenty on FB reckon Ramsey was terrible.
I’ve said it before….so many only see the absolute obvious.
Take nothing away from Santi and Coquelin though….they were sensational.
Morning all and thanks, Rico….I’m hanging in there lol
Coquelin is increasingly impressing me. He sits there in front of the defence doing what is right and not venturing forward. He is Flamini with skills or Song with discipline. Either way we need a grafter who works for the team not for himself.
Ospina should stay after another clean sheet. Currently all keepers have clean sheets.
Good description of Coquelin, Devil.
the team were more compact yesterday. Compact when defending and compact when attacking. and they were playing with their heads up, not running in blind alleys.
Ramsey was cracking imo, other than when he tried to push forward a bit but thankfully, he didn’t do that too often.. 😉
Agree re Coquelin and I never thought I’d say that… lol
I have been following Pirlo since he made his debut as an AM. Gradually he went to a defensive position, especially as he has never been one with boundless energies. yet his brain is one of the fastest I have ever seen. His footballing brain is similar to DB10. He is always three or four moves ahead.
Coquelin can never be like that. But I feel that if he keeps working hard on his positional sense, bulks a bit more and stays humble he will be important to us as much as Pirlo is to Juventus.
Two signs a are certainly good, Devil.
Like the entire team, he’s shown what he is capable of, so consistency becomes the key.
Rico, I would still keep Arteta and buy another DM even though Coquelin is playing well. Flamini I would release, but imo Arteta should stay since he can help Coquelin a lot plus help when they need a rest.
I wouldn’t Devil, I’d let Arteta, Flamini and Diaby go and sign a couple of Benders… 😉
I agree with you Rico….but knowing AW he would sign only one. And if one only is signed then Arteta needs to be kept.
Keep Arteta.
Sell Flamini and Abou.
Is Diaby still there??? lolllllll
You are both too soft… 😉
Excellent post Scott.. I see the lack of sleep is not having any adverse effects then…
For a minute I thought someone had hijacked Dev’s log-in credentials when I read Le Coq and Pirlo in the same sentence. lol… then I read Flamini has to be released then i thought that is definitely dev… 🙂
Imho, playing DM for Arsenal should be very easy if the said player chooses to use their brain.
Edu and Petit were not very mobile; infact petit was so slow he was removed from LB and CB to play in DM when he joined us…
In those teams the team worked together. it wasn’t just 5 players left to defend like we have had in recent times…
Arteta should stay, and cop a coaching gig later……..possibly TR7 as well.
Ginge, defending always starts with the forwards.
Ditto above 10:29.
Dev- from your professional view do you think AW has been playing a diamond 3 in midfield or 5 in midfield in the last 2 games?
Watching the heat maps of SC19/Le Coq and AR16 yesterday when we did not have the ball, it appeared they lined up as a tight 3 and marked the spaces in front of Fernando and silva…
I’ve hit the brick wall.
A long day has been had, but a worthwhile one, so I shall talk to you all tomorrow 🙂
Night Scott, catch up later. Thanks again for the post…
Coq was huge yesterday, let’s hope he keeps it up!
Good post Scott, you’ll certainly sleep well, good night….
And good morning to you all……
Ottamendi only can play at central back .He is small…
Morning all!
Afternoon all
Impressed by Sanchez , Cazorla and our Back 4. I thought our subs were spot on as well.
Ramsey and Ox didnt have great games but they were both still miles better than citys players
As for the debate on DMC…Arteta and Coquelin are off in the summer. Flamini will still be around as a utility player and we will buy someone decent.
Diaby? well, the guy is a crock. Funny thing is we will let him go and sods law he will play a full season somewhere else…
Rosicky, Ox Cazorla and Sanchez are playing blinders recently. Can’t see where Rambo Wilshere Ozil and Walcott will fit in …Nice problem to have.
As for Ospina, good start to his career. Still think Chez has a future but on this form, a little competition and humble pie is good for the young sport.
Well written Scott.
I’m glad to see we have healthy competition in most positions. Not many teams can boast having Ozil on the bench because our number 10 is out shining him.
I hope he can Uwot, I really do….
George, maybe that’s why Diaby isn’t playing, so he can drift off in the summer for free, get himself a nice shiny deal somewhere for good money and have a kick about in a less physical league…. lol
Brad, it was a brave decision by AW to leave Mesut out too… Paid off handsomely..
Rico
Whats interesting is I watched the game at the Royal Meridien Dubai with a chap whose sister works at Arsenal as a PA to the Arsenal Captain, and word has it no one likes Diaby….I asked him this as Jenks OX and Gibbs were poking fun at him in a Greek Restaurant I worked in at Hadley wood, a regular haunt of theirs..
Funny what you can learn from a random in a bar
George, I thought the players liked Diaby?
Clearly not after what you have been told. I wonder why….
Bt, I bet you slept well… lol
Jm, we don’t need any more tiddlers…
Afternoon all, good post Scott. I’m not sure if AW should get the plaudits for being a tactical genius at last, or we should just be pleased his stubbornness gave way and he listened to what the critics have been saying for 5 years.
Fantastic performance but it was Koscielny that got a toe in to prevent it being 1-1. Not only that he avoided an own goal which would have been easier. Great play and as important as a goal the other end.
Cazorla couldn’t have played better, good of The Sun to mark him 8/10! Others six or sevens.
I’m surprised the players know or even recognise Diaby, leave alone like or dislike him? He’s a bit like the Scarlet Pimpernel! They seem him here, they seek him there they seeking f…ing everywhere! Or perhaps he is like Syvia! Who is she?….I could go on…..But like Diaby I’m just not up to it!,
Rico, sure did, when i eventually got bed…..lol
George, i hope they didn’t poke Diaby to hard, he’s a bit fragile you know…..
Andrew, I think The Sun are being harsh on a few others… lol
🙂 Wavy..
A night of celebration Bt, or just shock… lol
Rico, a combination of the two…..a few sparklers helped….lol
rico, the Sun must just put it down to a poor City performance with those marks. Expected!
Afternoon All…
What the last few games have shown, is that our back-four is not a bunch of idiotic cart horses, all they needed was a disciplined defensive-midfielder in front of them, to give them some proper protection.
Nobody is talking about our defensive frailties today.
Step forward, and take a bow Feancis Coquelin…
The boy done good…
Thing is, without Toure, it was up to the Champs to put in even more effort surely. We only had 6 out and two just returning. But Kompany was the excuse as only just back.
Kev, who would have thought before xmas, we would all be singing Coq’s praises. Sanchez yes, Ramsey, Giroud maybe. Funny old game.
Very true Andrew, I cant think of anyone on here, or any other blog that I read, who was overjoyed at seeing LeCoq recalled from Charlton…
Most of us saw it as panic measures.
Arsene has got lucky!
But if the lad keeps it up and avoids injury then I see no reason why he cannot earn himself a new deal in the summer and have a productive career at Arsenal…
Coquelin could possibly save Wenger the need of shelling out £20m on a def/mid in the summer?
I think he’ll still bring in a quality def/mid anyway, but where as I felt he needed to sign two next summer, it might be that he can divert funds towards other areas of the squad…
Good Afternoon Rico and All.
Good Writie-up Scotts.
How I wish it was Chelsea yesterday… It could have put a lot of things to bed. Beat Chelsea under Mourinho and in their pitch while they are top of the league could have answered a lot of questions.
I think the instructions were very simple yesterday… 10 men behind the ball, no jogging in the pitch, give the ball away you must recover it back and close down their attack. No passengers and everyone must give their all; work their socks off.
Do I dare ask what sparklers are Bt? I’m sure you don’t mean what I am thinking of… lol
Typical Sun Andrew, don’t want to praise us of course….
I didn’t see the game, but I read some tactical analysis on the BBC website, and it seemed, at last, that our full-backs weren’t bombing forward as a pair, that one held if the other attacked…
Just like Dixon and Winterburn, in the good old days…
Less gung-ho, more pragmatic, is the way to go Arsene (penny dropped perhaps?)…
Always felt that this team/squad was better than some of its results.
A bit of tactical thinking works wonders.
Just keep it up ffs…
That’s my fear Kev, Coquelin = money saved… Hope not though….
Of course, good post Scott, a marked improvement on your last one Digger… 😀
A great performance yesterday, thats how you set a team up away from home,
Rocket Science? Don’t think so..
Plan B about 10 years later..Thanks Arsene.
Question..Why all of a sudden did he revert?
Is it because all around him have had enough,
Ex-players,Fans,the media have all been told,
about wengers experience…….by him.
I reckon the players, had enough of the up and at-erm
mentality away from home.
22 games,11 wins not what I would call Tactically Astute,
for a man on 8million a year.
It was nice to see Wenger smiling for a change,
and Boudly giving instructions.
lool at BT …re poking Diaby…they were taking the piss about his arrogance apparently. I thought he was anything but given he hasnt kicked a ball. It was the ox mocking him and Jenks and Gibbs just laughing about it.
I wonder what Shad Forsyte makes of his fitness.
Anyhow, moving onto Arsenal players….anyone seen or heard about Gnabry?
Rico, if the boy continues in the same way, I don’t see a problem…
We should still go out and get Schneiderlin in the summer.
And probably will…
We ain’t gonna win the league this season, so start preparing for next season now…
George, Gnabry = Black Hole,
Like Diaby, not even mentioned in fitness reports. Maybe kidnapped.
Andrew lol…Perhaps I’ll bump into them in Dubai trialing out for Al Ain Camels
Considering he became a regular squad member, its weird.
Kev, me neither IF he carries on the same way but AW can’t look at him and think Cdm is sorted… But, if there is truth in the Morgan story then yes, wait until the summer and just get a loan Cdm in to give us a bit more…
Afternoon Ng, we can do that at home, we really need to beat Chelsea for once and get another label off our back…
Rico,we’re due to give The Dwarf a good bloody nose, the law of averages are surely on our side by now.
The sparklers are not the halloween kind, some would say they’re medicinal …..lol
Kev, i wouldn’t have liked to under that penny when it finally dropped, it’s been falling a very long time……
Absolutely right Bt, a big hiding would be ice but 1-0 would do me…
I thought as much… 😉
Rico, any score will do me, as long as it leaves the cnut squirming and squealing….like a stuck pig..
I know….lol
You don’t like him either then Bt.. lol
Catch up later guys..
I’d say that yesterday’s performance had Bould written all over it! Yes, Wenger endorsed the defensive set up for sure but, after 30 years of having it all his own way, he has at last conceded that he just doesn’t know it all! God I sound like my mother!!
The true test will be our next game away from home, let’s see if he set the team up in the same way and gets a similar result. If the team do perform and win or perhaps get a ‘winning’ draw then I believe the corner will have been turned and a return to winning pots of silver may well be restored but if he goes back to plan ‘crap’ then he will have learned nothing and will deserve all the shite, soft, smelly and log like that will be thrown at him!
Great result yesterday, now go and do it again….and again……and again!
Mother knows best Wavy
BT, yes mate, it probably weighed a ton…
Quite a penny indeed…
She knew sod all , Kev……at the time!
She may have been one of those ‘wise women’, with hindsight.
Good evening…..
Bon soir Rico.
Same to you Devil… 😉
is Diaby still stuck with the revolving door Rico????
I doubt it Devil, he probably caught his foot on the door and got taken to hospital….
that is better……at least he is out of the stadium. hope he stays out now.
Quiet on here…
If we go on a winning run it’ll be deserted.
🙂
Hey Coach, what did you make of Bellerin?
I saw Jenkinson on the TV last night.
Thought he looked really good.
Monreal is looking like he could have cemented the left-back spot?!
🙂 Kev, it’s certainly more busy when we lose…. Funny eh
Agree re Monreal too Kev, his positional sense seems better than Gibbs but, if someone got hold of the latter and told him to defend first and stop bombing up the flanks, he too could improve….
Dinner for me….
I suppose all that comes with experience and games Rico.
Monreal is in his prime, an experienced international, who has adapted beautifully to the Engljsh game.
His next 3 or 4 years should be his best.
Gibbs, due to his injuries, is still playing catch-up, but given time he’ll hopefully develop into the defender he should be.
Enjoy dinner 🙂
Bellerin??? that is easy mate. I like him. He is highly technical and has a good level of stamina. He still needs to improve his tactical awareness, but that will come by time. I agree regarding Monreal as well. He has improved vastly. I would keep them both and rotate. For example Monreal could well play a certain type of games while Gibbs plays other type of games.
Dad agrees with you on Jenkinson. On one hand I wish we could have kept him, but on the other I prefer Bellerin. Than again if Jenks transforms into a CB I would want him to come back as well. Had it been a straight choice for RB I would choose Bellerin any day though. Its a pity that Debuchy got injured since for the next three months Bellerin needs to be given a breather now and then. However he is a good player and with more games will surely improve.
I’m quite looking forward to next weekends visit to Brighton.
A good opportunity for Wenger to give 90 minutes, or a start at least, to Walcott, Ozil, Gibbs, Flamini, Chambers, Hayden, Campbell, Akpom, Maitland-Niles, Bielik, Ajayi, Gnabry?, Szczesny and whoever else may become fit enough to get a run out… Diaby even?
Listen to your Father, Coach.
He has great wisdom… 😉
Right, I’m off for a cuppa.
Gibbs has everything to be great Kev, imo of course but all the time we play the bombing up the pitch game, he’ll be caught out.. Yesterday, moreals experience showed and Gibbs can only watch on, learn and improve…
Enjoy your cuppa….
I still think Jenks could make a good cb…..
Evening Rico and the House
First some rather sad news. Isaac Hayden is reported to have had a setback and has had to have a operation.
If what I have been told is correct his season is over,
Serge is close to full fitnes and a return to playing.
Evening Rick, that’s dreadful news…..
Evening All…
Yeah Rick, I haven’t long read that, but out for the season, ffs, another young Arsenal player struck down just as they look like making the step up to the first team…
Good re Gnabry though….
Gnabry back is good news though…
Wonder if Zelalem and/or Crowley might get a place in the squad for Brighton…?
Gutted re Hayden Kev….
Kev what makes it even worse is that he got his injury in training the day before he was going to make his first team debut. I think you know how highly I rate him and I was hoping he was going to follow in Bellerins footsteps.
I am hoping some one will make an official statement but at the moment I am gutted for him.
Is his injury setback official Rick?
Seems as if Hayden has contracted the virus know as Diabyitis. Chuck him out quickly ASAP. he is becoming contagious.
Dad said thank you for the compliment habib.
Like Rico I still think he will become a CB
Ah, not yet. Then I hope you have been given false info.. I really do….
No way re Hayden Devil.. Just rotten luck I’d say, he’s young enough to come back strong and repair well..
Kev the U18 pplay in the youth cup on Wedensday and the U19 play A.Madrid
the following wedensday and I think Crowley Zelalam and Maitland -Niles will play in those games.
The only youngsters who I see playing against Brighton are Akpom Ajayi and Serge if he is fit.
Im off guys, catch up tomorrow..
Night Rick, Kev, Devil and all…
Buona notte Rico.
A domain.
Ah Rick, yes, but I suppose if a couple of the kids are on the bench, it won’t hurt.
Coach, tell Papa that he is welcome… 🙂
What’s the fitness situation re: Welbeck?
Could he be fit enough to be considered…
Night Rico…
Morning all.
Kev 5.40, you can’t expect our African contingent to comment at this time of year, it’s too damn cold !!!
Couldn’t resist watching an action replay of our game tonite, no steaming forward like headless chickens !The cheque-book well and truly put away until the summer…………….
Micko….the cheque book is copping a work out 🙂
http://www.squawka.com/news/arsenal-sign-young-defender-kristopher-da-graca-after-signing-professional-terms/277886
Another kid signed….
We need them, Lee lol.
Seriously, how do we attempt to explain it?
How are you mate?
RIP Anne Kirkbride.
Buon Giorno aquile e farfalline.
Its good to read Neville and Carragher praising AFC for once. Let’s hope AW keeps awake from his slumber and plays the team like that for the rest of the season. All he needs is to win the next 7 CL games, the next 5 FA cup games and the remaining league games. A pot or two will surely come our way if we play like that from now on.
Seems as if Winston Reid has demanded a move to our club. I am still a bit sceptic on him moving to us…..after seeing him putting such a great performance against us.
That kid joined us last summer, there was an issue with his registration, and the club have only recently been able to sign him properly…
It isn’t another Bielik scenario, just those wankers on NewsNow trying to make something out of fcuk all….
Morning All
Morning Kev.
What do you think of Reid???
Morning Coach, yeah, it’s simple really, all Arsene needs to do is;
beat the Mancs,
beat the Scousers,
beat the Scummers and
finally beat the Septic One,
and go on an unbeaten run and win the EPL.
On the final day of the season, pipping the Chavs on goal difference.
morning HH’ers,
I see what you mean all quiet when we perform well. i guess because you can only say so much about a good team performance. When we play badly we all have our favorites to attack and defend.
Not really sure about Reid tbh Coach.
Kinda going on reputation.
Everything I read about him is positive.
He’s at the right age.
Experience in the EPL blah blah blah.
Its really all about the fee…
Which is unusual, wouldn’t you say? 🙄
RIP Anne Kirkbride…
Dreadfully sad news…
Morning all….
Looks as if there’s too many complications Coach, surrounding the fella from Villarreal.
Usual passport shit and all…
A Silvinho situation…
No doubt if the Mancs go for him, they’ll have absolutely no problems with a work permit…
Morning Rico….
Yeah, sad news indeed.
She’s had a lot of bad luck in recent years, health wise.
60 is no age…
I’m good thanks Scott but very cold…. -5c on the car this morning!
It’s the Arsenal business model?
Morning Brudder, sad news indeed.
Depending on which ‘Rag’ you read, it seems that Francis Coquelin is to be offered a 3 or a 4 year contract…
Makes sense considering his recent performances…
I expect to see the club offer Rosicky and Arteta new deals.
Release (put out of his misery) Abou Diaby, which will devestate Lee…
And sign a top D/M this summer, which should do the trick for next season…
Imo steer clear when there are work permit issues Kev. Is it possible that there is no European who can do defensive jobs??? A French, German, Spanish or Italian??
Not sure what the situation with Flamini is?
I did think that his contract was up this summer but I read somewhere that he’s contracted until 2016…
Suppose it depends on the balance of the 25 man squad and all, yawn…
Yeah, j get that Coach, but we’re talking about Arseen here, you know, vfm, the cheapest option…
I did read that the price for that Brazillian had shot up to €20million…
That seems to be the end of that then?!
I think that Kim Kallstrom is available?
Morning Kev… Far too young….
I think West Ham will take a lower offer for Reid towards the end of the TW, surely anyone sensible would rather take £5m than nothing in a few months time…
Also that’s normally how Wenger does his Jan business, if at all….
It is Lee.
The curse of Arsenal 19 y.o’s have struck Hayden too… Like Randall, Frimpong, Muamba before him who were destined to line up for the senior team they all got injured and that skwered their development. We could even add JW to this list…
Interesting that it was only Aneke who never got injured as he had been on loan away from the club since his 17th birth for majority of the time…
Morning all btw…
Ts, do you know what injury he has suffered?
Morning Rico and the House
Very cold down south with a heavy frost.
Rico Isaac has sustained a ankle injury like JW
He has had a operation which was carried out by James Calder who operated on JW . He has said the op was successful and my recovery has started.
He sounds rather chippy.
Hi Rico, its the same ankle injury as Arteta…
Some believe it is to do with the type of turf the boys train on…
I know it appeasr we do not need another winger but Wellington is playing very well on loan in La Liga.. his performance against Valencia last weekend was impressive…
appears*
hi Rick.. sorry for duplicate info…
Its a struggle sometimes with my browser so… sometimes I have to re-post several times before info gets onto the cyber…
This injury jinx needs investigating big time!
Is it the training method?? Is it the training surface?? Is it misfortune??
IMO its a combination of the first two. One or two injuries might be classified as misfortune but what we are seeing is not misfortune. Too many injuries for my liking.
Morning Rick, thanks – let’s hope he recovers well….
Cold and frosty here too….
Wow 9 years today that we signed Walcott. I don’t see much has changed in his game over the 9 years.
Ts, who thinks that re the turf, players or fans?
Has to be something going wrong…
Semi Ajayi looks on his way, he’s having a trial at Sunderland
9 years eh? I should say, given that he is a bright and largely obedient boy man, that he hasn’t been given the right coaching advice! Mmm sounds familiar, no?
Morning all. Bright and blue here….snow later??
If Ajayi turns out to be as good as Wes Browne they really will have found themselves a bargain
Ajayi was not going to last long after that tweet…
The usual suspect(s) of ex-players alluded to the turf or training method being an issue…- Rico
Ajayi was better than Brown even at his young age Wavy, mind you, that wouldn’t be difficult.. lol
Thanks Ts, just wondered…
New Post Up Now….
If Ajayi turns out to be as good as Wes Browne they really will have found themselves a bargain
