Patience…..

Morning all.

Day four of the transfer window and whilst clubs around us are getting a deal or two over the line, Arsenal have done nothing. Or at least nothing has been made official. Man Utd have signed Cunha and appear to be on the verge of securing the signature of Mbeumo if the newspapers are to be believed and Chelsea, well they are doing what they usually do, spend money likes it’s going out of fashion. They already have six goalkeepers on their books but are reported to be after another, AC Milan’s Mike Maignan. Some might say they are showing ambition whereas others might suggest the club is being poorly run. Liverpool however, have signed just the one player in Frimpong, a replacement for Alexander-Arnold. Yes they might on the verge of adding Florian Wirtz but as yet, nothing is concrete. This morning, it’s been announced that Manchester City have agreed £46.3m deal with AC Milan for Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. I wonder if his nickname is Rudolph.

Honestly, I couldn’t care less what other clubs do really as long as Arsenal do whatever is in their plans. We don’t have a bad squad, far from it, it’s just too small and lacking in certain areas. Remember, we got our hopes up of Mudryk, I’ll admit it, I was pretty cheesed off when he opted for Chelsea instead of us but look how his Chelsea career turned out and where is is now. Arsenal certainly dodged a bullet and a very expensive one at that.

Whatever Arsenal do this summer, they have to get things right. Or at least as right as they can within the clubs budget and more importantly, the players. Cunha is an exciting player and yes, I’d love him at Arsenal in principle but how many times would he see red in an Arsenal kit?

Just because Martin Zubimendi posted something on instagram about the rumours relating to his next move, all he’s really said is he’s concentrating on the Spain international duties before his future is decided. Just because Alonso was/is his idol, it doesn’t mean he’s about to sign for Real Madrid either but if he does, then that’s his prerogative but the Premier League, the toughest in football, is often the attraction rather than a league where competition is limited until Champions League football kicks off. Also, if he signs for Real Madrid then his heart was never in a move to Arsenal anyway and we need players who want to play for the club.

I read this morning that Mbeumo wants £250,000 a week if he’s to sign for Utd which is bonkers IF true.

This time of year is always frustrating, especially as other clubs start to move in the transfer window but I’m sure Arsenal are busy behind the scenes and it’s only a matter of time before players are through the Arsenal door. (She hopes)

Morning rico, house. I make it five gone with Marquinhos about to sign permanently at Cruzeiro for two and a half million. We were quite a few short of trusted squad players and we know every year we will get more than our share of injuries. So that makes about 6 to 8 signings needed, frightening because I can’t see that happening?

Morning Andrew, it might be that one or two of the academy players are in line to step up. If we don’t sign in numbers as well as quality, we’ll be back to square one.

Expecting us to burst out of the traps after a dreadful January, hasnt exactly had the start wanted, only for other big clubs. Oh hang on, what is your headline today. I cant believe you really mean it! 🙂

Charlie Watts podcast along with two other respected journalists, one heard and was amazed that only 2 weeks ago a respected source told him Arsenal still hadnt decided their main priority between the 2 strikers! Got to have a fullback option, but they have had long enough to decide who is main target surely. Unless Arteta and Berta do disagree.

  5. rico says:

Ha ha, I do mean it. Chelsea and City are in the club cup or whatever it’s called so they’re getting in early for that competition imo.

Plus, player contracts don’t end until the end of the month.

The journos probably don’t know 100% though and we know Arsenal try and keep things quiet. I’m of the opinion it’s now or never for the club because of all the talk.

Another poor transfer window and I think the owners and Arteta etc will be in for a tough year.

Patience?? 😂😂😂 did you seriously mean that Rico?? 😂😂😂

We mere common Arsenal supporters are still patiently searching for the vast resources of patience when it comes to transfers. And we have suffered enough methinks.

You can rest assured that if this transfer window is underwhelming there will be riots among the supporters.

The thing which taxes my patience to the limits is seeing other clubs snap a player by clicking their fingers while we seem to take an eternity in getting him over the line. We do all the scouting and running on Ronaldo, then half time between Sporting and Utd and voila, SAF offers him better salary and 6million more to the club. he took only 15 mins while we took what, 15 years???

Mourinho used to enjoy doing that to us as well…..we do the scouting and then he goes after the players we talk to. That’s why the players keep on farting around the box to score…..they have a good role model in the board of directors who fart around discussion tables.

  9. rico says:

    I did Devil. lol

As hard as that might be, we have to wait before judging the club but be it on their own head if the only thing they have in September is petty excuses.

  10. Grumblestiltskin says:

    Good morning Rico and all

This is what I saw this morning on FB………..Martin Zubimendi is set to become an Arsenal player, with all documents signed and only his medical left to complete—scheduled after his international duties with Spain. Although the deal is essentially wrapped up, Real Sociedad have asked for the official completion to be delayed until July. The reason is strategic: by finalizing the transfer in the new financial year, the Basque club can record the profit under their 2024/25 books, giving them greater room to maneuver in the market.
A formal announcement is expected around late June or early July.

  11. Cicero says:

Apparently City and Barcelona are “interested” in Arsenal youngster Max Dowman.

In addition, Arsenal have made a £67 million offer for Benjamin Sesko.

  12. Cicero says:

Jack Grealish anyone? The twenty-nine-year-old is not expected to make the City squad for the Club World Cup and has been told to find a new club. He is anxious to regain his place on the England squad and to do so he needs to be playing regularly. A loan move may be on the cards, but his £300,000 per week wages would be a problem.

  13. Grumblestiltskin says:

Cicero, the only thing in his favour is he is homegrown and can play for the English national team.

The biggest thing against him is his attitude. We don’t need to carry any passengers according to the mood he has when he wakes up. He will have to work harder to convince me.

Then again I might be mistaken

  14. Grumblestiltskin says:

    Just a question to everyone.

If you were the manager who would you choose??

Gyokeres who is more direct and a finisher but 26 years old. He shoots on sight.

    OR….

Sesko who is more the traditional and transitional type of striker who brings others in the game and holds the ball up well until he is ably supported by others.

Both are strong presences in the box.

  15. Aussie Geoff says:

Not interested in Grealish, no matter what his weekly pay is.
the reason why other clubs get deals done quickly is because they know what the want and go for it. as we think we no what we want then think about it and then think about again, then miss out on the player we wanted😊
