Ozil bust up revealed. Will imminent new signing be enough to keep Alexis?

Morning all.

Arsenal have invited young Chilean Marcelo Allende on trial and here he is, pictured here behind Alex Iwobi. The 17-year-old, 5′ 4″ attacking midfielder is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his international compatriot Sanchez. Allende also had a two-week trial in 2016 and according to a few reports, it was indeed Alexis Sanchez who recommended his to Arsene Wenger. Perhaps, if this youngster does sign up which could be as early as next month according to a few headlines, it’ll be enough to convince Alexis to stay, after all, he’s a nice guy who surely wouldn’t want to leave his fellow countryman alone in a strange country. Clutching at straws? Ok, maybe, but a girl can hope…

Mohammed Elneny has been ruled out of tomorrows match against Liverpool which is a great shame. He has an ankle problem but won’t be missing for long says Arsene Wenger. Three weeks he said which we all know can turn into any amount of time..

Laurent Koscielny is back in the squad as is Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

Mesut Ozil has been on the receiving end of a lot of stick in recent weeks and perhaps justifiably so. But I think Arsene Wenger could go a long way to helping him and really, he has two options. Either leave him on the bench or better still, don’t include the other two passengers in the team. By that I mean, Iwobi and Walcott. Three players who aren’t prepared to work harder than they are for the team just isn’t working. Too much is then being asked of the midfield and defence because the wide men simply aren’t tracking back to help out. I really hope Arsene Wenger swaps Iwobi and Walcott for Welbeck and Perez for tomorrow’s fixture.

Talking of Mesut, he’s written a book which has been serialised by German news outlet Bild, with Ozil claiming he and Mourinho squared up ‘like boxers’ as the Portuguese dwarf branded him a ‘coward’.

Ozil, who had thrown his Real Madrid shirt to the floor during a match, wrote:

“[Mourinho shouts]: ‘You think two beautiful passes are enough… you think you’re so good that 50 per cent is enough’. “He pauses. Stares at me with his dark brown eyes. I stare back. Like two boxers at the stare-down before the first round.

“He shows no emotion. Just waits for a response from me. How much I hate him right now. And I love Mourinho actually.

“[Mourinho adds}: ‘Oh, are you giving up now? You’re such a coward. What do you want? To creep under the beautiful, warm shower. Shampoo your hair? To be alone?

“‘Or do you want to prove to your fellow players, the fans out there, and me, what you can do?’”

Ozil apparently chose the shower……

Also from his book:

“With the big boss at my club (Madrid) I had fallen into disgrace, although I had not done anything at all.

“I was threatened with a seat in the stands. Suddenly I had to act. For my career. It was not at all possible to stay any more – especially if this decision were not based on performance criteria.

“Therefore I chose, although it was not easy for me at the beginning, [to call] a number, which I had in my mobile phone since 2010′.

And there was me thinking Arsene Wenger made the first move……

    Morning Rico

It’s official though not specified who said it that Arsenal have told Wenger he must decide his future this month.

How do you read that statement?

I thought earlier the odds are against us tomorrow but of course when you add in the fact that some players have said they will only stay if AW stays (which you can take with a pinch of salt) plus the announcement today that again a manager can decide if he is staying or not, makes this game massive. What happens if we make top 4, AW will say we are challenging for next season and if he signs or not and we go out of the CL plus losing our best player, greedy or not(Sanchez), we are in a bigger mess than most thought could never happen.I do blame the Board for not forcing Wenger’s hand or questioning him about several things these past few years, but I forget they are not football men.

Our record against the top 6 is dreasful yet despite a dreadful run Liver[ool’s record is very good against the same top 6.Not at all confident.

  2. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Kelsey, I was about to say that it’s a big game, so hopefully our lads show up ready to play, but it seems there is no rhyme or reason as to when they perform.
Not much to do other than sit back and watch lol

  3. Marshall says:

Mourinho said exactly what we say. Ozil is a talented player who cowardly chooses to creep under when the going gets tough.

I’d drop him at anfield and go 4-3-3. With Ramsey-Xhaka-Ox in the mid and Welbeck-Sanchez-Perez upfront. But what do I know?

  4. Daniel Egwu says:

Trust Arsenal to throw away the match ,as it has become a tradition, in the first twenty minutes. I pray it will not be a period of confussion, poor confidence, little or no direction from the bench and abject cluelessness. These are what we now expect from arsenal and I won’t be surprised if that is what we get tomorrow! Why? The manager hardly learns. He lives in his own world and believes talent alone is enough. So picnickers like Ozil, Walcott, Giroud, Iwobi and Ramsey will again show why a manager who romances lazy players will continuosly irritate adoring fans. Do not say I told you!!

  5. Marshall says:

Scott, absolutely. We need people who don’t give up. The message should be clear..

Ozil on the bench will have everybody working their socks off.

  6. Marshall says:

I hope there will be a mutual agreement for Arsene to part ways with the club. France would be a good place for him, besides he can look after Kroenke’s vineyard!

  7. kelsey says:

I bet you he stays being now a dictator he wants to go on regardless and make money for Kroenke,he is the perfect cash cow.He is losing fast his reputation as a great manager.
Would you keep a car for 21 years and some people not even a wife 😉

  8. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, as I said earlier, I think if they make an announcement, he’s going, but if they don’t, he’s staying.
Silly bloody games they play that are all about the dollars.
Him going must be announced early so a new manager can be sourced, and surely they’d realise ST sales will be through the roof.
If he’s staying, the stalemate continues, so the boat won’t be rocked until after the season ends, I reckon.

  9. ScottfromOz says:

The gents at the top really make this all about themselves.
They’re like politicians-constantly forgetting what their true purpose is.

  10. Kk says:

    Afternoon Rico and the house..

So it was ozil who called wenger for help!! hmm..strange

Also apperently ozil asked Mourinho to write the opening of his book and not our dear wenger. .I don’t know what to make up from this really

    Sanaogo to the rescue..

  11. Wavy says:

In fairness Kelsey, Wenger didn’t keep his wife for too long, did he? After his brief affair with some French lady his wife and daughter returned to the mother land, la belle francais! Wenger should perhaps have gone with them, citing family Matters! He didn’t and the rest is all history, sadly. And, we’re still stuck with him!
As for the car thing, I have a car in my garage which is approaching its 47th birthday! And it’s not for sale…..yet! Can you imagine Monsieur Wenger still our manager in 2043, that’d be 47 years I reckon he would update be in very good condition and probably unserviceable! But Stan would be happy if the old chap remained an appreciating asset, like my motor!
“I’ll tell you I’m March,” this is a departure from the norm, perhaps he,is going, for real!

Morning all. Raining persistently he Really!

  12. Wavy says:

Update?? Not . How the **** can an iPad derive update from not? Like Wenger it’s beyond reason!

Typo alert, “I’ll tell you in March” my fault not the iPad’s! Unusually!

Another iPad interpretation, ‘here”, not ‘he Really’ what bollocks this thing is really?

  13. rico says:

Peeing down here too Wavy, a horrid old day really…

You’re probably right Scott, the ST sales would go down if he stays….

  14. rico says:

Hi Kk. It’s all a bit odd really isn’t it. We were led to believe Wenger was the man responsible for the Ozil deal, however….

  15. Kk says:

I think that incident with mourinho sums up everything about ozil. Talanted player but not the kind of person you would want around when the going gets tough.

Wenger should do the right thing and drop him from the starting line and keep him on the bench.

  16. Marshall says:

Rico, he sacked the manager after having the worst run in the league. He had even given him a contract extension. Only pressure from the fans that he was let go… Does that script sound familiar 🙂

  17. frednerk says:

    Afternoon Rico and All.

    Arsene’s a clever man.
He must see the empty seat’s around the ground
surely he must say to himself.
    ……………..Why is no Arse’s in seat’s……………

Is he thinking… these player’s are useless.
Is he thinking… these fan’s have more money than sense.
Is he thinking… I need to spend some money.

I know for a fact what his thinking…Do you lot?

    No rude answer’s..Thank You.

  18. Wavy says:

His unbespectacled purr blind eyes are not seeing anything, he’ll have to look at again! And, in that he knows ALL the answers he won’t be asking himself any questions!

  19. Bradster says:

    Hi all,

I worry about 2 players. Coutinho’s long shots that Cech can’t save and Mane’s pace against Monreal.

Although Lucas and Matep are garbage if he plays them together should give us a chance.

  20. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
Not a very good day down South made worse with the news that
the postman is playing for the U23’s against the spuds

  21. rico says:

Afternoon Rick, look on the bright side, at least he won’t be playing at Anfield… He may have found his level with the u23’s, although I suspect he’ll struggle 😉

  22. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Rico.
    Afternoon All.

It’s not surprising to see Wenger dithering over his contract, I mean he’s spent the last 20 years dithering over everything, especially transfers, no wonder he looks lost in games that are going wrong, when we’re crying out for a tactical switch.

To me, I find it hard to believe that Arsene has already made a decision about his future, so I disregard any suggestions that he has.
The only person who’ll know, will be Arsene himself, and he doesn’t fcuking know.

If I recall he was on the point of actually resigning when Arsenal were losing 2-0 to Hull in the FACup final. So if his future and the future of our club, hung in the balance then in just one game, then why should anyone think it’s any different now…

What a way to run a fcuking major business.
    Rudderless at the top…
    A CEO with no authority…
    And a manager who can’t make a decision…

  23. frednerk says:

    Hi Kev
Have you read the latest Arsene quote.

When asked what his plan’s were for next season?

    Arsene replied:
    I have a Burning Desire……….Wait for it…
    ……………..Too Reinvent Myself….
    He added:
    I ask all young players?
..Are You Ready to Sacrifice Your Life.
    Being a footballer………
Is like being a Priest……..he went on to say.

  24. allezkev says:

    Hi Fred

Yes, I did read his comments, but what do they actually mean mate?

Next he’ll be going on about seagulls and trawlers, it’s all rubbish…

He doesn’t know what he wants to do, and don’t be surprised if we’re still waiting for a decision as April turns into May…

The club is drifting, Gazides can’t make a decision, Kroenke is in La La Land, it’s a fcuking shambles..,

  25. allezkev says:

Fred, didn’t Wenger say that if he left Arsenal he’d only join a club that was capable of winning the CL…

Yeah, just like Arsenal then, 20 years of European glory, you couldn’t make that shit up…

  26. allezkev says:

    Cheers Rico…

    Sanogo scores eh?

Could he be the secret weapon that Wenger will throw at Bayern?

Desperate times, desperate measures and all that crap

  27. ScottfromOz says:

Kev, his goal was almost a tap in and he nearly hit the keeper with it lol.
It didn’t Instill me with any confidence that’s he’s improved.

  28. allezkev says:

    Don’t diss the Yaya, Scott…

He could be the ingredient we’ve been missing all season…

I know that Adam is seriously excited at his return..

  29. allezkev says:

I can see it now Scott, Sanogo and Giroud leading the attack just like Radford and Kennedy…

Stick a load of high balls into the Bayern box ‘they don’t like it up ’em’…

  30. potter says:

Kev that might be worth watching. All we need now is a player that can accurately cross a ball.

  31. ScottfromOz says:

Potter, let’s bring back Andre Santos 🙂
Best crosser we’ve had for years.
Shame he couldn’t run, tackle etc etc lol

  32. Wath says:

Morning Lady of the House………… trust you’re looking forward to what we get served up later on today…! I’m not…..

  33. potter says:

It’s certainly staid and liable to become slipshod but it is consistent at a level that keeps us close to the top.

  34. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Hard to get too excited about our prospects at Anfield but the players certainly owe a winning performance.

  35. allezkev says:

Come on Adam, remember a Girouds stirring words of a few days ago.
That the players are 100% behind Wenger.

Doesn’t that make your heart soar…

  36. Wavy says:

Thank goodness for retrospective video action! If the FA grew a pair those two acts of GBO would be punished immediately and neither would still be assaulting their respective opponents, well not today or for a further 3 games, at least.
    Shocking.
    Come on Bournemouth.

  37. rico says:

And a terrible pen given for Utd, saved by the Bournemouth keeper…. Karma!

It’s coming Wavy, hopefully… It simply has to…

  38. Wavy says:

    That’s sniffy of you Rico!

1-1 justice done despite the officials to bend it manures way.

Let’s hope we do better at Anfield than Bournemouth did at old toilet today.

  39. frednerk says:

    Afternoon Rico and All

Wonder how Arsene will play it to-day?

    Pretty much the same set-up’s,
Good going forward,Clueless at the back.
Let’s hope he can think this one out,or even read a few Blog’s.
It’s now March and he still ain’t got a scooby, what our best 11 is.

Arsene has stated ..We need to be compact.
He say’s..For Ozil to be effective we have to have the ball.
Two contradictory statement’s..If he play’s Ozil.

  40. rico says:

Afternoon Fred, I wouldn’t play Ozil, nor Iwobi today. We need battlers…

We’l prob play the same as we did against Sutton, and the week before and the week before……..

  41. frednerk says:

Rico he has to play Danny..A must.

    I would play Ramsey as a 10 Sanchez as a 9
    Danny,Granite,Coq and Oxo..Mid
    Back 5 we as usual..Gibbs/Monrail

  42. allezkev says:

Are we going to park a bus, er maybe a little bus, a mini bus perhaps?

Glad that we aren’t going gung ho, I’d take a draw right now…

  43. Obi says:

26 games into the season and we still haven’t played our best line-up yet, imho, wth our best outfield players
    Sanchez
    Perez Ozil Welbeck

  44. Kk says:

Well, at least you can’t accuse wenger of being predictable. .
    Iowbi for sanchez! !??? wow!
Brave or suicidal!? We soon will find out!

  45. Wavy says:

Is the dropping of Ozil, Sanchez, Perez a sign that they are not necessary for Arsenal, going forward? Has there been a bit of a falling out, behind the dressing room doors?
I wonder if the curmudgeonly one is cutting off his nose to spite his face? He is the manager after all, he is the BOSS! He won’t cow row to any upstart footballer, no matter how esteemed he is!
Well we’ll see who is right and whether we can survive without our most prestigious stars, or whether Wenger has got it all wrong, again.
His job is on the line , I reckon. Lose, and he’s toast. Win and he’ll be signing that new contract!

  46. rico says:

Why when Ramsey is fit,is he not playing instead of Ozil, a position he plays so well in for Wales….. Why play Iwobi…?

  47. Lee says:

Wenger built his legacy on inheriting a world class back five……
Wenger played the Spanish waiter for how many seasons????

  48. Lewis says:

We’re utter shit. This team stopped playing for Wenger a long time ago. If he loved the club the way he says he does he would leave now, not at the end of the season.

    So over this monotonous bollocks.

  49. Lee says:

Liverpool have been shit for ages, shock horror they play Wenger’s team and they look like world beaters!

  50. Kel says:

I’d say utd and chelsea have scott…

    Neville, vidic, ferdinand, evra.

    Ivanovic Terry, carvalho, Cole.

  51. Kk says:

Giroud is ineffective at the moment as no one can put a decent cross ..ffs..
    Nearly 2 nill from continho..

  52. Lee says:

I’d have more Sanchez quality players in the team, sell the serial bottler Ozil and use the funds!

  53. arsenal11730 says:

Scott disagree with your harsh treatment on Sanchez. He has every right to laugh at this terribly run team of losers. Sanchez is a winner.
Nobody tries harder than him in our squad.
Please pause a moment and ask yourself what position in the table Arsenal would be without him.
I Sincerely Disagree with your posture. The buck stops with AW as he is the dictator at Arsenal who has final decisions.Cheers

  54. Lee says:

He’s probably laughing at Wenger still being the Arsenal manager…..
    There’s a shock Coq booked…..

  55. scottfromoz says:

Fair call, Kel, but that Is two in PL history……show it not as easy as we like to believe.
Lee, we will agree to disagree on Sanchez, and I’ve seen people here rip into player for laughing on the bench when loading a game but hey, he runs a lot lol.
    Rico, I wouldn’t play Ramsey 🙂 🙂

  56. scottfromoz says:

A11730, I’m not blaming Sanchez for our current plight, far from it.
I just don’t see him as a player who cares about anything other than himself.
    Just my opinion.

  57. arsenal11730 says:

Just told my Missus want us to lose against Scousers and Munich, will beat Lincoln and lose to Spurs in semis. Put us and AW out of this misery. Sadly many Gooners feel this way – So sad, different year same crap. Weak mentally and it bestows from manager.

  58. Lee says:

What a fucking JOKE they’ve beaten Plymouth this season fucking Plymouth!!!
    Useless fucking manager just go!

  59. Kel says:

And there ya have it… game set and match… we haven’t even turned up… spineless and no balls…

Sanchez on the bench… lol if you think that’s a good idea away to.liverpool you’re fucking mental…

  60. scottfromoz says:

    KK, good question lol.
What’s happened to a lot of our players?
Can’t really say any are in anywhere near their best form.
It’s a side not out there to play for their manager.

  61. rico says:

Get Giroud, Iwobi and even Welbeck off, they are all having a stinker…. mind you, Welbeck might improve if Alexis comes on..

  62. arsenal11730 says:

Scott but you consistently deflect blame from AW – You are wrong there Mate. He is a dictator…

  63. andrewh1313 says:

Ffs, 11 out there, not one close to Sanchez’s talent and desire and he’s on bench. It’s so laughable that only Wenger could get away with it. What a joke. Exactly what we deserve, I’d get out as soon as I could if I was Sanchez from this shower. I ask you, Iwobi better to start than Sanchez, who in their right mind could think Iwobi?

  64. andrewh1313 says:

They really missing Henderson in midfield! Lucky to be 0-2. Still, might make the 50% of fans who Neville says still want AW rather than take a chance, realise how deluded they are. Probably not. With such a split fanbase, we probably deserve this.

  65. Kel says:

It’s a sad watch this… again defeat is part of the game… but the manner of defeat is what makes me livid…. this Arsenal team assembled by wenger is weak physically weak mentally.. literally a bunch of softies…

Danny, Alexis, lucas…. how he can’t see that is his best front 3 is beyond me..

  66. Joaquim Moreira says:

The full backs were defender not in the lines but in a central position.
The trouble with this team is that they can not play in the opposing midfield.
Missing a midfield reference leading the game.
Without this reference, which was Cazorla, no one was prepared to replace him, the team is perfectly match: does not defend well and does not attack with consistency.
And even more: it is not mentalized to defend in block, nor to attack of another form than by tic-tac.
It is praying and waiting for a good result.

  67. ScottfromOz says:

We are on a roll Kev lol
    Bloody terrible.
Ive never thought this possible, but if we go on and lose, then cop a belting v Bayern, could Arsene actually walk???
Surely, he’s never been under such pressure.

  68. potter says:

The problem stems fron midfield neither Coquelin or Xhaka have the speed to get their tackles in ,they are being overrun .Our two wide players don’t track runners. They come at speed and our back four don’t sttand a chance.

  69. rico says:

No one blames Wenger for everything Scott. Just all what goes on in relation to the way we play, the team selection, who he signs, or rather who he doesn’t, his tactics, subs… the list is endless, and it’s dreadful!

  70. allezkev says:

Scott, I don’t blame Wenger for everything either, but we are playing shit and Chips Keswick doesn’t pick, coach or organise the team,

  71. andrewh1313 says:

Scott, not sure there’s any pressure from above. He takes no account of media, fans are split, so I think he’s fine. If he will be the one to quit, surely he would have done before now? Losing 8-2 to Unt wasn’t clever, nor embarrassing defeats ever since. But he strives to improve….

  72. rico says:

Scott, I know you want Wenger gone, you’ve been saying he hat since the FA Cup win. Well, you’ve said he needs to go… 😉

  73. micko says:

You have to ask what lessons did we take from Chelsea and Bayern away this last couple of weeks, all we do is roll over these days.

    The candle is lit.

  74. ScottfromOz says:

So we’ve won all the games Alexis started then-especially Bayern 🙂 🙂
Come on, I’m glad he’s done his job but it’s not his ability or effort that I criticise.

  75. Bradster says:

that’s another thing they should take from rugby/bring back. The 10 yards rule from a free kick. Deliberately preventing taking it quickly

  76. hayseapl@gmail.com says:

    I’m truly sorry, Micko.
Rico, from now on, please don’t have a crack at me when I make generalisations, as you did at 6.30pm.
I mean, if it’s not directed at an individual, nobody can be offended 🙂

  77. ScottfromOz says:

KK, I’ll never know how Wenger could choose Giroud to start this game?
    Not in a million years.
If no Alexis then surely it had to be Perez.

  78. Kel says:

What telling you to chill lol…

Unfortunately the story of this game is gonna be the first half no show…. not for the first time this season.

  79. rico says:

Nothing more than we deserved. You’ve lost the plot Arsene, you really have!

Please, do us and yourself a favour and don’t sign that contract offer….

  80. Kel says:

Xhaka just to slow in midfield today Liverpool just bypassed him time and time again…

    We’ll I did say we won’t make top 4 about 2 months ago…

  81. Lee says:

Stan’s really fucked up massively tonight!

Wenger apologists really make me fucking sick, the blokes fucking finished wake up and smell the coffee!!!

    Plymouth for fuck sake!

Just fuck off Wenger you’re done!!!

  82. Kk says:

    Painful ..
    Glad it’s over. ..
    Weekend ruined. .
Thanks Arsene hope you enjoy your 10k new contract!
    Night gooners

  83. andrewh1313 says:

Wonder why we dropped joint top scorer in league who’s more often than not our best player. Wenger better have a good reason because with a midfield and defence like ours, that must have cheered Pool no end on hearing. Ozil ill and Sanchez dropped, they must have had such a lift. Well done Prof, excelled yourself. What a sad end it’s becoming for someone we ALL used to look up to.

  84. potter says:

Lost that in our standard slow starting first half. EMre can should have had a second yellow and was their third offside. All paper covering questions, basically not good enough.

  85. ScottfromOz says:

Lee, I’m not happy that I’m not so pissed off.
A year ago, I’d have ripped anyone’s head off that accused me of thinking this, but now, missing top 4 is probably what we need.
New manager….has to be decided on asap.
No CL to worry about and give the new guy a year without that pressure.
I really think Arsene will look at himself more after this performance than at any time over the last few years.
If we couldn’t get up for this after Bayern, Chavs and Watford, then I’m stunned.
We do need quite a few squad changes to go with a new manager though.

  86. Kel says:

Steven Gerrard… obviously has a little inside info.. says the Liverpool players got a lift when they seen Sanchez not on the team sheet… hahaha thx Arsene you plonker..

  87. ScottfromOz says:

Until I saw Giroud starting, I thought we’d win.
I’m not criticising Giroud , but horses for courses.
It had to be Sanchez or Perez.

  88. rico says:

I’m not sure Wenger will even bother looking at it though Scott, he hasn’t before.. he looks absolutely lost these days, he really does…

  89. ScottfromOz says:

Yes Rico, he’s run out of answers and even if he has, he should not show it.
His body language should have us all believing he knows what’s wrong and how to fix it, but he’s a broken man and it’s plain for all to see.
No club would be scared to play us.
There is no intimidation at all.
I won’t kick a man while he’s down, though, but he simply must make a call and leave.

  90. rico says:

A stupid, bloody stupid decision Kel, it really was. Our best player left on the bench after a two week break… no wonder he was laughing…

  91. Joaquim Moreira says:

Although the last goal is off-side, I never understand why we only play one part in each game.
You can not have ambition when in the direct confrontations with teams with the same ambitions no points are made.

  92. rico says:

Exactly scott, he’s long past being the man who arrived at Arsenal… Sad, but true. You’d think the woman in his life would tell him how it is….

  93. allezkev says:

I’m expecting a 5th defeat in 7 this midweek, probably Wengers worst run of results in 20 years…

It all has the feeling of an end to an era, it reminds me of the last days of Bertie Mee, George Graham and Terry Neill

  94. Le Coq Monster says:

    Evening all.

Was excited about this game thinking we would finally see Welbz, Alexis and Perez up front !…………then I saw the team sheet and hid behind sofa !…………..if Wenger signs the new deal I shall take a sabbatical from football until he goes, I`m not going to abuse him, but he is embarrasing himself and probably doesn`t even see it……………..how the mighty have fallen !……………………..please go soon with some dignity, you`ve done wonders for the club overall and I feel for you, but it`s time to call it a day and enjoy life with the riches you have accumulated.

  95. micko says:

We all knock Liverpool….27 years and still waiting for a league title but truth is we’re going down the same road as them, slipping into the same prolonged stages of the disease only no-one can see it or cares about it at AFC.

  96. ScottfromOz says:

LC, if we get the replacement, The sky is the limit as so much is in place for the club to be dominant.
Arsene has played his part in that but that last hurdle had proven one too many.

  97. Wavy says:

Looking at the pensioner sitting on a bench, he could have been sitting in my local park watching the birds!
I’m sure he wasn’t too ‘lucid’ today. A shame we don’t treat our old folk a little better. I’m sure , if there was a bit more cash in the sŷstem he could be settled in comfortable warden aided accomodation. I’d even put my hand in my pocket to help him on his way. I’d make it continual though. I would insist that the confined him to his room on Saturdays and Sunday’s.

We’ve reached a pretty pass. Time to give us all a rest Arsene. Time to call it a day. Please.

  98. Le Coq Monster says:

When he goes it will be …..one down and one to go !………………………although Kroenke will be a harder nut to crack……………maybe even uncrackable !…………………………….I`ve heard his syrup has cockroach DNA and would survive a nuclear holocaust !.

  99. rico says:

Lc, if Wenger goes and a new manager doesn’t get what he wants, I reckon Kroenke failings will be seriously highlighted…

  100. Wavy says:

Conditional not, continual. iPads nearly as old as Wenger so that should explain all the recent hiccups!

  101. Le Coq Monster says:

Dont think we will ever be dominant, Scott !………………..too many money teams and up and coming one`s, even if we had Uzzy instead of Kroenke we would never be dominant, competitive !….yes !, but not dominant !

  102. allezkev says:

Exactly Adam, but we did have a false 9, a fox in the box, someone in the hole and a box to box midfielder, but yes, we missed that two banks of four and someone 10 years ahead of their time…

  103. Le Coq Monster says:

Yes Rico, but even if his failing`s were highlighted, will he sell ?…….he doesn`t have to and as far as I know he has never sold a sports business.
We may never get rid of him and my biggest grudge is that he bought us in the first place !….why oh why didn`t we get Usmanov in first ?…………………….anyway, first things first…………..please Arsene, a pretty please….please let us know now instead of April that you are going and we can get working on a new manager.

  104. Le Coq Monster says:

Seedy twist ???……………….I reckon Rico destroyed it when the first goal went in !……………………..not as bad as me though, Kev`!……………………………I destroyed all the pasty`s in Cornwall when I heard the team news !…………………Adam has no chance of one now !. hahaha

  105. Kel says:

So that’s no wins in 11 aways games against the top 6.. (W0 D5 L6 ) yip were certainly progressing lol…

  106. Obi says:

As I said earlier AW put up a carling cup line up. When I saw the line-up, I went to the gym and DVR the game, not wasting my time AGAIN. I was surprised it wasn’t another 5-1 defeat.

This guy, AW, is becoming seriously annoying, after today is there any reason for him to stay? I could manage Arsenal and get better results. How do you as a manger not put your best line-up on the pitch?

  107. ScottfromOz says:

Micko, at the risk of being repetitive, I bloody well thought we’d beat them until I saw that.
    That was it.
Done, right there even allowing for other players playing/not playing.
In what universe did this game suit Giroud?

  108. Le Coq Monster says:

I think we could all probably agree that it`s not all about the trophies, but to be competitive in trying to win them that would keep us satisfied, that`s all I want, but if you look at the recent history of titles (apart from the anomaly Leicester ), it`s been shared around by the richest clubs……….or shall I say the biggest spenders!
With the likes of the two Mancs and Chav`s it is my opinion that we wont have a dominating team ala Liverpool and Man U as of previous years, it will be shared about by them big 3 and possibly The Spuds and WHam in a decades time because of their new stadums and their club supporting owners even if they dont sell out to bigger money, but we are stuck with Kroenke and we may turn into an anomaly team like Leicester……………..a once in a blue moon title winner !………………………..Bindippers could be the same as us as they have owners who ( correct me if I`m wrong) came to Arsenal to look around and wanted to copy our self-sustaining model !
Just want us to be in with a shout every year and you/we know when we`ve been competitive and we know when we haven`t and we haven`t been for a long while………………..unless you count the times before we choke at a certain time of the year !…………..

  109. Obi says:

Scott you heard Allegri is coming in too, huh? One of my boys who is highly placed told me that Allegri wants the job badly because he want to go after Conte and Pep.

  110. Le Coq Monster says:

That`s it !…………………..I`m going to drive around Launceston and abuse the first person I see wearing a syrup !……………….night all !

  111. micko. says:

Maybe we were trying to lure them into a false sense of security lol.

Anyhow’s the nite is still a puppy, over and out.

  112. ScottfromOz says:

Obi, I don’t know enough about Allegri to make a call on him, but those that do seem to think he’s good so let’s hope he gets a chance.
Of course. If he’s the fire to want to take on those guys then he’s won me over lol
LC, the single stat that kills Arsene is his lack of wins against top 4 sides in recent years.
    It can not be defended.

  113. kelsey says:

I have kept away for a few hours so hopefully, though annoyed perhaps some of you guys have calmed down.

Did you really expect a team so out of sorts would put in a performance today, dspite that Liverpool are on a dreadful run themselves.

If some people blame the players well who bought them.?

Granit is now a 34 million pound defender who is scared to tackle and all his preivous was there before we bought him.

Welbeck scores a really neat goal then the manager decides to sub him.
I am afraid Wenger is suffeing from dementia, which is sad to see,but the stubborn old fool will plough on.

The next thing to look forward to is the small matter of Bayern on Tuesday.

  114. ScottfromOz says:

Kelsey, I expected a good result until I saw the line up.
Of course the players must take some responsibility, but yes, Arsene is responsible for signing/keeping them.
It’s pretty much agreed by everyone that the aggression of Xhaka, Gabriel and Coquelin has been coached out of them.
    Bayern should be fun 🙂

  115. Alex says:

    Hello everyone !!!
    @kelsey

    I second to that opinion……
People talk about Le prof this Le Prof that…….Fact of the matter we have absolutely utter crap players specially in that midfield

    XAKA

Is diagnosed nicely by Arsene venum….Completely scared to go near a player. What was he doing all afternoon ?It is obvious he has no quick feet and when pressed is useless.£34 mil ??? what ???

    Coquelin
What is in there into this player ? I dont see any ability in him to keep the ball calmly and pass the a player with a bit of skill. All this is to save some money and to promote one absolutely mediocre player who at best is good for a team in championship.

    Iwoby

It is all about saving money. The kid has to learn his trades elsewhere not with the first team anyway.

    Monreal

This player has lost it completely.Mane eat him live .today …..oh my God….how in a short time a player can loose his ability.Last season was my man in fairness. Now is completely unrecognisable

Tell me which manager will be happy to carry on with all this dead wood.

Personally the names that are flying don`t make any sense to me because serious surgery is required.

  116. Le Coq Monster says:

Shame Monreal hasn`t got the pace of a man I just tried to run over…sorry, talk to !…………..saw this geezer with an ill fitting wig and proceeded to drive by slowly giving him a distainfull look. I got closer and then asked him why he chose to wear a toupee and did he own a large farm with enormous acreage !.
He then started walking faster as I asked him did he like to speculate to accumalate and did he employ a fcuking useless farm manager with a passion for gaelic bulbs !…………he then sped away with an impressive turn of speed with his syrup clinging on for dear life !
I feel that a change of direction is needed and for our players to all shave their heads and wear syrups against Bayern !…….instant pace in the team and can we look anymore ridiculous than we keep making ourselves look ?

  117. Le Coq Monster says:

At least here tomorrow it will be a national day for the Cornish !……………….St Pirans Day………..Cornish Saint of Incest !………………..lots of family related stuff all over the county !

I reckon Kroenke goes to them swapping parties where instead of sticking car keys in a bowl, they stick their syrups in a bowl !

  118. Wavy says:

Kelsey, I’m still seething. Can’t see tomorrow will see much change in my general sense of humour.
Still, we’ve got Tuesday to look forward to. Any guesses how that will finish? Agg. 7-1 to Bayern, it may be more!
Repatriate Wenger. Brexit will see him back in France after March! Or maybe after judgement day on May.

Sweet dreams I’m away to my bed.

  119. micko says:

Don’t really understand all the negativity on here tbh, anyone would think Bayern had gone 7 points clear top of Bundeslga tonite and we had dropped outta the top 4, keep the faith Gooners.

  120. micko says:

I still think we have a case for grand larceny in Munich Scott, we woz robbed !
I’m not one for wishing we ever get beat, we simply have to go hell for leather in the FA Cup this season and hope sense prevails.

  121. Obi says:

Alex @ 9:30, who bought them, who keeps on selecting them, who trains them?

I guess our best player was injured. Where was MS10?……………. Mental Strength.

  122. ScottfromOz says:

Micko, my absolute dream finish is this.
Win 2-0 on Tuesday so at least it’s a stand thenkads have made.
    Finish 5th on the League.
Win the FA cup allowing Arsene to leave on a high, of sorts. And a fresh start to be had next season.
    Too much to ask??
    Probably 🙂

  123. rico says:

Morning Adam. It’ been hammering down with rain since 6am here…

I’d imagine The Emirates is a very dark place indeed…..

  124. Adam says:

I reckon so Rico. I sold my Bayern tickets but imagine that Tuesday evening will be difficult in so many ways. There’s so much to say, but so little point in doing so at the moment.

  125. rico says:

I kind of feel sorry for Wenger as his name is in the papers every day and not for any good reason, but then I think he could have avoided all of this had he not been so stubborn.

I get football and the club are his life and I understand why he’s wanted to stay for so long, but if only he’d got some help in about 4/5 years ago. Someone who would give him some fresh ideas etc etc but because he didn’t and hasn’t, all that heads his way is really his own fault. He has no-one to blame but himself for the shambles he now has our team in…

  126. rico says:

Me too Adam, I’m not even angry this morning as the performance was nothing more than I expected… Numb to it all really but I’ll wake up when Allegri signs up in the summer… 😉

  127. Adam says:

When it became clear that he wasn’t taking the club forward, the board’s only concern should have been to avoid the hole we are now in. It has been as if he had become untouchable and operated on a level somehow detached from the club and common sense. The transition which must inevitably now follow really, really should have been handled better than this. I feel for him too though, on a personal level
The club should probably announce what is happening at the end of the season now, though I doubt he would agree as will hate the whole ‘lame-duck manager’ thing.
