One out and two in today? Jamie Redknapp isn’t quite right.

Morning all and it’s not a good one either is it?

No words left I’m afraid, I’ve said all there’s to be said and I’m fed up to my back teeth of repeating the same old things week after week. Yes we turn in the occasional good performance but more often than not, we are pathetic. No ideas, no cohesion, no commitment, effort or guidance.

Watching that match yesterday afternoon was almost unbearable and not for one minute did it look like a Premier League fixture. I’ve seen better, more organised displays of the beautiful game on show in League One.

Jamie Redknapp said after the game that this is the worst Arsenal team he’s ever seen. I’d disagree as we still have a group of good players in the squad but what I would say is it was one of the worst performances from an Arsenal team during the Wenger era.

When Bournemouth had the ball down our left, four, maybe five players were around the player who crossed it, something I doubt you’d see unless you were watching schoolboy football. To make matters worse, not one of them prevented the cross from going in. Wilson beat Cech to the ball and that was that, 1-1. From that moment, I pretty much knew how the rest of the game would go and sadly, I wasn’t wrong. Yes I know, you all thought the same too so when Xhaka drifted off to sleep which allowed the player he should have been tracking to make it 2-1, I wasn’t surprised.

After the game, Arsene Wenger could only criticise his players for making costly mistakes at the back and for lacking creativity up front, or something like that. What a berk eh, his team, his tactics, his preparation, his fault.

Yesterday, Alexis Sanchez was an Arsenal player and he should have played. So what if he’s set to leave this month, it’s Arsenal FC who are paying his wages, wages Wenger should have made him earn. The Frenchman did the same with Francis Coquelin for the FA Cup fixture against Notts Forest when the team was crying out for someone in midfield who could help the defence, but no, he was left out and we were knocked out. Terrible terrible decision making by Wenger. Yet Walcott, who the club are in negotiations with Everton to sell, was on the bench. Talk about changing the goalposts to suit his warped agenda eh.

I’m sick of the man, I really am. Any modicum of respect I held for Arsene Wenger has gone. I’m starting to hate the man for what he and he alone is doing to our club and that’s not healthy. He’s killing it just as he’s killing the good players we have at the club.

Wenger can talk all he likes about signing x, y, or z but what’s the point? He’ll ruin them just as he’s ruined so many before and continues to do so now.

Look at Alexandre Lacazette, a player who didn’t take long to find the net, a player who was all smiles and energy when he first arrived yet to watch him over the last few matches and certainly yesterday, he looks down and out. He must be thinking why the hell did he choose Arsenal. This is a striker who before this summer would score goals for fun. Now he looks isolated and lost in his lonely battle to make something out of nothing. I know Ozil was missing and he’s the one who can open gaps up, but he too is out of contract this summer and right now, there’s no indication that’ll he’ll stay. Why would he want to?

Just as I wonder why any other half decent player would want to join our club either, not when there’s a barmy Frenchman doing his best to ruin it…

Talking of which, the agent of Malcom was apparently in London yesterday sorting out a contract for his man and as Alexis seems to be heading to Man Utd, that deal will only go through if we get Henrikh Mkhitaryan included in the deal…

Oh goodie…

Finally, some sad news. Cyrille Regis has died aged just 59. A massive heart attack took him according to reports. RIP Big guy.

Morning Rico. A heartfelt post that reflects, in so many ways, the sadness most of us feel. Looking at Wenger (and not just yesterday) I cannot believe that he can be enjoying watching his legacy vanish down the plug hole of mediocrity. Physically he looks shocking. He must surely be reflecting upon how we got here. If he really cannot see it, which I suspect might well be the case, then we must hope and pray that the board do the right thing and end this madness. But, if they just step back and let him spend a fortune on the flakey Mikhitarian and a couple of other offensive players then they will have bottled it big time.
The man needs help and the board must step in and end this madness. There is no future in Arsene Wenger and if he believes there is then surely that alone tells you that he is completely deluded. None of this has happened overnight. and every step he takes now, where the team is concerned, could mean another issue to resolve for whoever takes over.
    Bloody sad times.

  2. rico says:

    Morning again Adam.

Couldn’t agree more. If Wenger can’t see what is visible to us, and that is his health suffering, someone on the board really need to help him. I don’t say this lightly but this job will end up killing him. Do the board want that on their conscience?

  3. Le Coq Monster says:

Morning all and thank you Rico !……….you sum up how we all feel….well that`s all apart from the ever decreasing AKB`s…………..the last straw for me was the FA Cup debacle !.

I agree with Redknapp in a way, I think that was our worst team in EPL history and it wasn`t all down to injuries !
I read something that said being beaten by Bournemouth is akin to being beaten up by your Granma…..spot on !

What next ?…..being beaten by Accrington, Crawley, Northampton ???………that is the true level of Bournemouth, we should never struggle against their like`s.

Will a new manager make a differance ?…………only a certain kind imo and in two ways………………1) a passionate manager with passionate football philosophies like Klopp, Pep etc………..or 2)…..someone like Simeone ( who is passionate) who will make us defensively sound.

As for us we seem to be stuck in the middle with a passive manager who only gets excited by reading OPTA stats………….., we dont press like CFG/Spuds/Bindippers and we dont defend like the best.

This could take years litterally as we are still stuck with Wenger for a season and half and then we have to sort his mess out after that !……………………….I`d love to swear but I wont, at least you have a good idea what I`m thinking about Wenger !

    👿

  4. Wavy says:

Nope, it doesn’t feel any better this morning, having slept on it!
Old players out, new players in? Much good will that do the team, as you rightly pointed out Rico, this old man will knock the confidence out of them, whilst claiming they have yet to learn the Arsenal way! Lacazette = lack of confidence! Whose fault, well, I’d blame Mr Motivator!
I think I’ve reached the Henry II moment when he could no longer tolerate the shenanigans of Thomas Becket, when he reputedly uttered the infamous words, “will no one rid us of this man?” We need silent syrup or chips with everything to act proactively and sack the geezer. He’s done, he’s finished, he has no new tricks in the box? He is an ex coach, he should be no more, he is a gone manager! Except he’s not, is he? He’s still in post and still fckuing the job up. Even the poison dwarf has stopped bleating about him, says a lot that doesn’t it? It means he’s no longer a threat, at any level to the dwarf’s kingdom or progress, (unlike Pep!).

Another game, another week and the black hole gets larger and larger. It needs to swallow this, now useless coach sooner rather than later. Someone at the club has to do something to wrest his job from him and put an end to his excuse laden bleatings, post matches. I think we’re all sick and tired of it. I know I am.

Morning all. You’d never guess it’s overcast, dreary and raining here. Fits my mood totally!

  5. Adam says:

That’s looking like a sad possibility Rico. Wenger has given the board an easy time for years but they now find themselves in a position where they have to make a few vital decisions for the club. We can only hope that they are talking about it as we speak because letting things drift on is very poor for all concerned.
I only wish I was more confident that they have what it takes. There’s precious little evidence that they do unfortunately.

  6. Le Coq Monster says:

I think Arsene’s decisions to carry on for the last two contracts has been the first time he’s put his personal aspirations before those of the club. He has stated several times that he lives for football and cannot envisage what his life would be like if he wasn’t the Arsenal manager. I don’t think those decisions were in the best interests of The Arsenal.

  7. potter says:

It’s been said before that Arsenal is his whole life , without it he is an empty sad old man, usually he is too close to see exactly what has happened. From his place on the touchline he is in the action , he is berating fourth officials he is the front man leading his troops in the battle, he is Napolean and his Waterloo is fast approaching if not already here.
Hopefully his time in the stands has enabled him to see things from a different perspective , hopefully his mind is sharp enough to see the parlous state that we are in and realise that new thinking and direction is needed to get the club moving forward again.

  8. rico says:

Wavy, the saddest thing is, I’m used to it now so have very few emotions. Love the club, despise the management.

It sure is Adam, each loss, bad performance is taking it’s toll on him. Just as our performances have declined, so has his health. I’d imagine if was still married or had a partner, they’d tell him what this job is doing to him.

  9. allezkev says:

Our worst team in history, really?
Somebody must have a selective memory or be having a laugh.

I give you; York City 1-0 Arsenal, now that was a poor team.
What about the team that went out on aggregate against Winterslag in the UEFA Cup, worst than that?

How about the team that just about avoided relegation in the mid 1970’s, the season I was at Highbury when a crowd of 13,000 saw us scratch a 1-0 win against Sheffield Utd, a win that helped keep us up.

Or the team that lost at home to Tranmere in the League Cup?

And who could forget that great Wenger team that lost 6-0 at the Bridge, that was a classic.

How about the team that let in 8 at Man Utd…

How about the team that had a Chris Whyte at centre-forward or the one that had a Terry Mancini at centre-half, they were brilliant.

And who can ever forget that dynamic midfield of Rix, Hollins, Talbot and assorted youngsters around 1983, that team got you off of your seat. Up front we had John Hawley, who could ever forget big John?

Yeah, all those great teams, wonderful moments, always good for a laugh…

Yep, this team is poor, but it isn’t the worst – one of worst coached, prepared and motivated perhaps but not the worst, come on now…

  10. rico says:

To be fair Kev, I think Redknapp was talking about under Arsene Wenger and I doubt very much he was watching the matches you cite.

And he is a Tott man, so he talks bollox… 😉

  11. allezkev says:

Ok Rico, I see your point, but who the fcuk is Jamie Redknapp and why does anything he says mean anything?

The guys on Arsenal Fan TV make more sense.

Typical media, they trawl the depths for all these ‘no marks’ like Danny Mills, players who’ve won sweet fanny adams and then put their comment up as if they’re some kind of revelation.

It’s bad enough being an Arsenal atm without having to put up with those toss pots.

    Good post btw…

  12. allezkev says:

Nothing on Arseblog news, that’s unusual and makes me wonder if there’s a lot going on at the club atm, maybe a Board meeting?

Should see some transfer developments over the next 24 hours.
I’m not sure about Mikhatarian tbh, is he what we really need?

  13. frednerk says:

    Afternoon Rico and All.

I think you and Adam have summed
    it all up..for me.

    Love turns to hate.
I just hate the sight of Arsene now,
surely if he were a wounded animal
you could shoot him and not feel guilty.
Someone please load that gun and put
us and him out of this misery.

  14. rico says:

Kev, he’s just another mouthpiece for Sky Sports, another who says anything that will stir the pot.

Thanks re the post btw. A board meeting? Let’s hope so.

    Afternoon Fred. Sad eh..

  15. potter says:

Mikhatarian , Has a good rep just out of favour with Mourinho probably too attacking to play in a bus parking side.
Just to fuel the fire he played under Tuchel at Dortmund where he scored on average one in four but headed the Bundeslig assists table. Seems more of an Ozil than a Sanchez but maybe that’s part of the hidden scenario.

  16. rico says:

According to Ornstein, we’ve agreed a deal for Malcom.

All very well Potter, but who’s going to score for the chances we make? Lacazette will if he gets some passion back, but after him we are struggling..

  17. kelsey says:

    Afternoon all,

    Enough is enough.

When I hear pundits and former players say this is the worst team in ten or even twenty years, that is some statement
I wish those going to protest next weekend make an impact that is noticeable ,so thousands need to attend
I would like to make this important point that those who don’t attend for a multitude of reasons are just as passionate about our club as those who attend practically every match
I and others often comment how great our Away support is,regardless of the result and they are pretty dire
Many can’t attend because of their location, the cost, ill health live abroad or too far away and unfortunately regardless of age just have had enough. and losing interest of being lied to,year after year
We are being taken for fools but.
we have the unique situation where the employee rules all
Turning your back for a certain period of time during a game won’t achieve anything nor the ridiculous idea of blocking entrances
All we can hope for is to hit the club where it really hurts and that is in the pocket
Corporate might rethink spending, the season ticket holders may not renew as not seen for decades, and buying less or no merchandise will
    also help
We have reached a point of no return and it will take years to get back amongst the elite on the field

Wenger should do the honourable thing and save grace and resign now or he should be payed off the remainder of his contract
The club is in crisis from top to bottom

  18. potter says:

Lacazette lost the will to live and so woiuld I with the service he’s getting.

It’s not that he’s wondering where his next goal is coming from , he’s worried about whare the next decent pass is. He’s dropping further back to get the ball and is now playing as an advanced midfielder involved in the passing build ups rather than being on the shoulder of the defenders..

Just a thought if Wenger went and Tuchel came in would Ozil stay to play with Mikhatarian and Wilshere .

  19. Alex says:

    Rico good afternoon

Do you really thingthe addition of one or two excellent players will change things ?

But we had already in the form of Ozil and Sanchez last season and we could not even make the top 4.

Thev squad is rubbish …and we have to rebuild.

The enire team is only worth second stream.

  20. Le Coq Monster says:

Cant find this agreed deal for Malcolm on Ornstein, Rico.
Last football tweets I`ve seen from him just say that Malcolm is the preferred replacement for Alexis and also one saying Everton and Soton are in high level talks for Theo !………………was it a tweet or something else ?

  21. Alex says:

    Rico…not at you specifically.

There is a need of no nonsense approach.

Before thinking on buying …an absolute clearance is a must.

    Start from defence…….

Just look at the first goal…….

what the hell are doing four players surrounding one opposition name less player.

    Is not Messi …..or Ronaldo….!

And that absolutetly pathetic so called assistant manager is just sitting biting his nails ala Wenger.Cannot even stand and say something let alone do something.

To me this Bould is just equally culprit as LeProf.

  22. Le Coq Monster says:

Have to laugh at Trump saying to a reporter…………….” I am the least racist person you have ever interviewed “…………………correct !……….the last people he interviewed were the heads of the KKK !

Doesn`t least racist still mean he`s racist, only not as much as say Enoch Powell !………………..reminds me a lot of Wenger does Trump, comes out with some right old crap, at least Wenger`s not a racist .

  23. Alex says:

    @Kelsey
    Demonstration ?

    So far Kronke got

    OX…………35 M
    LE COQ…10 M plus

Another 35M is on the pipe plus wages deducted.

I guess that is what matter to Kronke.

Le prof and his yes men will ride any bump easily i guess.

  24. Rick says:

    Evening Rico and the House.
Very good post Rico. it sums up just how I feel .

I am hoping that the U23’s will have a good game tonight and help to lift the gloom.

Le Coq i think your 3.11 is wrong tonight is all about winning.
A win keeps us in contention for the league tittle and puts Man Utd closer to keeping the spuds company to going down .
I have been told our new player is playing
    More reason to watch.

Kev Love your response to Rednapp, the guy has not got a clue.

  25. Rick says:

    Tonights Team
Macey, Sheaf, Plegiu, Mavropans, Willock, DaSilva, Tutu, Dragomir, Nelson Jeff, Eddy.

    Theres Goals Tonight.

  26. Rick says:

Rico Liverpool top of U23 Chelsea top of u18.
We are in contention in both and I honestly think they could both win some silver this season

  27. kelsey says:

It’s a huge demo planned for the Palace game. Many different blogs are getting together to get people to come and vent their feelings, not that it will make much difference, but let’s see who turns up.

  28. Le Coq Monster says:

I bet AA and Untold are not part of the “blogs getting together”
    🙂

I reckon Piers Morgan started it Rico !……………………

  29. allezkev says:

Thanks Rick, sick to death of listening to arseholes like Alan Shearer and his ilk dancing on our grave.
I know that things are shit, I don’t need the likes of Danny Mills and Rednapp telling me what I already know, they can fcuk right off…

The U23’s seem to be doing ok, let’s hope they can defend better than the U16’s…

  30. Rick says:

Kev in the game that finished 6-6 no fewer then 6 of their normal team were playing for the U18’s and 6 under 15’s took their place.
On sat they beat Fulham 6-1 with their full team.
As things are now the academy are having their best season since 2010 when Steve Bauld was in charge.

If you get the chance Kev watch Eddies 2nd goal tonight and you will see why I think he is a no 10

  31. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Arsene Wenger is hanging on for grim life, but they will have to drag him out kicking & screaming. All he gives now is lip service to prolong his tenure as manager.

There is no point in making any changes @ The Club till he is gone, & I mean gone, where he has absolutely no input.whatsoever in Club affairs.

There is a brave new world out there, but I fear the board don’t have the guts/integrity to go there!!!!

  32. Lee says:

Sanchez to manure and a bench warmer our way…. PEA apparently handed in a transfer request. Why not go for PEA instead of Laca???

Don’t we need a proper DM and CB though? Actually what’s the fucking point with Le Clueless still in charge???

  33. Kel says:

personally I think Mkhitaryan is just struggling under mourhinos style.. he is one hell of an attacking midfielder a great replacement for Rosicky imo.

if we landed Aubameyang as well that could be very good business for Arsenal considering the state we’re in and with little to no chance of champions league football.

  34. Lee says:

I hope you’re right Kel… unfortunately you are forgetting the biggest stumbling block we currently have!!!

  35. rico says:

    Morning Lee, Kel and all..

Hopefully that biggest stumbling block will be offski come May. He’s got to be as there’s bugger all left for him at Arsenal..

  36. Kel says:

he aint going anywhere Lee… we need to make the best of a bad situation, right now we can’t score and can’t defend…

so the above players for me would be welcome as would Evans even though he’s not the best he’s better than chambers, holding and mert. imo..

I’ve no idea about this kid Malcolm..

  37. potter says:

Standard Arsenal last minute panic , Sanchez’ future should have been sorted , all of these ducks should have been lined up some time ago.

  38. Wavy says:

Imo, the dwarf’s pursuit of Sanchez has traction on at least two counts. Firstly it’ll piss the old geezer off and secondly because it ensures his squad is reinforced, at least in the short term. Actually a third reason may be factored in, in that his spat with Conte would be addressed to manure’s advantage. Or at least the moronic one believes so, because he is a proper moron, just like “Gordon”!

I prefer Waddle’s take on it all, in that Sanchez should stay and negotiate the Crown Jewels plus some from the freeby position he will find himself in in the summer. Or is that just too simplistic?

One thing is for sure, I think, and that is that the Arsenal want money for him and not to let him go for free. Selling to manure they’d be seen to get the initial investment back £35m. Good work if you can swing it! It’s a good bit of business. I bet the Syrup would agree there!

The interesting thing is what will Arsenal do if he chooses to stay? He would seem to be a bit toxic in the dressing room, Wenger cannot motivate him, his heart is not in the club and hasn’t been for a long time. He would only serve to unsettle the rest. Perhaps he could turn out for the U23s. Except they don’t need him, based on wha t I saw last night!

Begs another question, if the cf Nketiah is as good as he appears why are we trying to sign Abangymem? (Sp). Or a winger, or a central defender? Etc etc. And perhaps more to the point why aren’t they closer to the first team? Oh, Wenger says so!

The saga of Sanchez will run until he’s gone, whenever that may be. For now I think on concentrating on my personal Wenger out campaign and wait and see what the club does in the next couple of weeks. Last and final thought. If Wenger has not orchestrated, should I say sanctioned any of the targets and finds them on the training ground shortly, one thing is for certain, they won’t be playing for the first team, until he’s broken their spirit and made them look ordinary, a la Lacazette whose loss of form is all down to Wenger.

Top of the morning to you all. Bright sunny and windy here. Lovely day.

  39. Kk says:

Apparently Mekhterian the Albanian don’t want to move to Arsenal and that’s why the negotiations stalling!
Malcom is staying put for now !
And wengo is trying to block Aubmeyang transfer just because it’s Sven Mislintat recommendation…
You couldn’t make this shit up!

  40. rico says:

Walcott is having a medical at Everton….. 🙁

latest on Alexis, any deal with Utd will be a straight swap for Mikki – no money involved…

    Afternoon guys.

Now for some entertainment of TW rumour and from the man who speaks with truth instead of Wenger………………………………Ornstein !

Not new to you but it`s real stuff unlike Kroenke`s hairpiece ……….

  43. allezkev says:

I wonder what Ornstein thinks of all those pictures and cartoons with his face on them?

It’s almost a fan worship from those types on Twitter.

  44. Le Coq Monster says:

Some are funny though, Kev ………….I must add though that I am not one of those who worship the chosen one aka Ornsteinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

    🙂

  45. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Apparently the latest goings on on the SS Arsenal, the ship of fools, is that its rudderless & drifting aimlessly towards Port Bottom-Half-of-Table. I guess Captain Arsene must still be at the helm then 🙂

  46. gnarleygeorge9 says:

You can always tell when a Club is in trouble, when its fans start following the Under 23’s, etc results. No offence to the fans ofcourse!

  47. potter says:

None taken , it’s just nice to see the headline Arsenal 4 – Manchester United 0 . We have some good kids coming through , we can only hope that Wenger goes before he gets his hands on them.

  48. Goonster says:

Reiss Nelson is stalling on a new contract!??? You can’t make this stuff up. Hahahahah reiss fucking nelson?? A little boy off our academy too wants to jump ship??? Oh how we have fallen!!!! KILL ME NOW.

  49. rico says:

    Morning Goonster and all.

Is he stalling or has the club not get to him yet re his contract? Either way, could be another disaster in the making…

  50. Lee says:

I read that Stan….surely the penny must of dropped with BOD?!? Fucking bin Wenger before he totally sinks the ship….
