Now look who's signing, well done Joel Campbell….

Morning All,

First off, well done to Costa Rica on last nights win over Greece, thought Joel Campbell worked his socks off with very little decent service last night and also then stepped up to calmly put his penalty away, the lad is definitely showing glimpses of class and potential.

Well here we are and it’s yet another day of transfer window rumours and gossip.

The Alexis Sanchez stories are still doing the rounds and if Barca sign Jaws I mean Suarez then Sanchez prefers Arsenal as his team of choice…. Is that so….. Who actually asked him this..? The different comments that make the tabloids really are quite funny yet there seems to be a lot of truth in the fact many sources say Sanchez doesn’t get on with Messi and Barca will always stand by Messi hence they are prepared to move Sanchez on…. According to the ever reliable Spanish press they state we have made a 40 million euro bid for Sanchez but Barca want more… wasn’t it reported only a week ago his value was 25 million pounds…!

I suppose now that Chile are out of the World Cup that story is going to run and run until something actually happens and the media have to make up another story about another player and transfer.

Yesterday also saw us linked with Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton and think most of us would be happy that we’re linked with a physical central midfielder to complement our smaller technical players. Today Sami Khedira’s name is back up there as top of the pops and as he’s Ozils best mate that’s an easy media link for us to be happy with.

Khedira is in the last year of his contract at Madrid and again the rumours are they are happy to let him leave as there are concerns over his fitness from last seasons injury. He would again be a player to bring us more physical presence and has a lot of experience, would he be a better option than Schneiderlin or should we really push the boat out and try for Vidal from Juve…. I would prefer a player with premier league experience if i’m honest but those three players in my mind are exactly what we are lacking, steel in the middle of the pitch.

Most fans seem to think we won’t spend big at all this summer as Wenger hates spending money as we all know, or that’s what we think but does his new contract extension not indicate that he must know he needs to spend? The fans won’t accept another poor transfer window come September 1st, does the club want a repeat of the Villa home game toxic atmosphere, I think not.

It’s not as if we have to spend money that will put us into the Red it’s about spending whats in the bank and we have been saying that for years now.

Wenger, the board and owner for that matter need to show intent and ambition in this transfer window as the core of this side is very good. What’s needed is to make the squad excellent.

If we’re going to do that then hearing that Di Maria is available for 40 Million then he’s another we need to be looking at, we were interested in him last summer, isn’t it about making our squad the best we possibly can be with the funds available, Di Maria, Sanchez, Khedira or Schneiderlin would cost us approx 100 million, that still leaves us plenty to bring in an experienced keeper and back up right back surely..? plus Remy of course because Kev loves Remy.

That’s your lot for today, take it easy…

    Morning all.
Nice post Wath, and offers plenty to think about.
I thought Campbell showed quite a bit of maturity, and his work rates as terrific until he ran out of steam.

  2. Wath says:

    Morning Scott,

There are so many rumours and so much rubbish going around Scott yet there are also players who offer good value even at 30/40 million quid. There are also plenty players way cheaper than that who would offer us something as well the fee doesn’t guarantee success the big name just guarantees excitement.

  3. Lee says:

Ok mate…works fucking tedious at the moment!
Just talking about what a cnut Robben is….great footballer but a cheating fucktard! I’d get great pleasure in giving him a good right hander…
    You ok?

  4. Wath says:

totally agree mate, was chatting to a mate yesterday saying that why when your such a good player do you behave like such a complete cnut and dive around like swan lake… no need for it what so ever…! Muller from Germany the same, why as you say are they such cheats and thats all it is… Cheating…!

    All ok mate…!

  5. Scott From Oz says:

Wath, agreed….plenty of talent around, and not always at high fees.
Let’s hope Arsene is not just partying over there!

  6. goonster says:

Gee enough with the bile lee. Take a chill pill. We won fair and square. I can’t stand that turd face either but for now I will cause he’s an oranje after the world cup then things ll ve back to normal ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. Savage says:

Agreed that Campbell did really well with the very little he had to work with last night. I thought Ruiz was the weak link in the team – kept taking the wrong option or losing the ball.

I really liked JC’s touch and link-up play, plus perfect weighting on nearly all his passes. Great stuff.

  8. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning fellow Gooners in residence.

Wath – An interesting article, but one small quibble “…Itโ€™s not as if we have to spend money that will put us into the black itโ€™s about spending whats in the bank…“. The club are currently in the black (i.e. made a profit). Spending more money than we have would put the club in the red (i.e. a loss).

  9. tsgh says:

Scott like you I thought JC showed alot of football brain..

Folks must note JC was not facing an inept CB partnership.. Sokratis plays for none other than my BVB and Manolas was his team mate at Olympiacos but he still caused both troubles. I thought his movement was very RvP-esque if I am allowed to say that… no stats to back it up of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. goonster says:

Hahahahahah scotty oz you re the one to talk. What about when Shane warne cheated during the 2006 ashes against England. Remember he was scratching the ball so it bounces unevenly. Hence you guys won the ashes which toll date I don’t get or understand. The bottom line is its our time and we will win it cause its oranje time ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. tsgh says:

Wath are you trying to get me cr@@ming like goonie in the office like Goonie…

    Good and succint post btw

  12. Lee says:

Stan, I really couldn’t give a fuck about the satsumas, a team containing Judas and Robbenry in it is a struggle for me to want to win…..

  13. tsgh says:

If we can steal Vidal from the ‘Old Lady of Turin’ I will be as happy as Stan is after we qualify for another UCL … ๐Ÿ™‚

You know how much I despise those cheating lot? They and Yanited have had refs in their pockets for donkey years. I only watch Juve for 2 reasons Asamoah and Vidal; make it 3… i like Conte too; I would want him as AW’s replacement when Aw goes…

question for you all.. if we are to miss out on ‘S’ due to a swap deal will you take Mr Kev’s old buddy Llorente?

  14. goonster says:

Whatever lee….you re out we re in with a chance to win a proper world cup. You guys are just jealous haha ๐Ÿ˜€

  15. Wath says:

Sorry CG… black red all the same you know what I mean ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you want I’ll change it for you though….! I’m thoughtful like that…!

Stan, I may be sad but I don’t dive around on a football pitch like swan lake…. Cheating is cheating mate and Robben is exactly what Lee called him lol

  16. Canadian Gooner says:

Arjen Robben will be back in Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics. He will be representing the Nederlands as part of their diving team. He is scheduled to enter intense training under Jurgen Klinsmann, Gemany`s most famous serial diver.

A sad reflection on Nederlands football and the nation itself.

  17. goonster says:

Ginge if we get vidal what happens to rambo? We can’t play both of them. It ll disrupt our shape plus neither is a real cdm. I ll take sanchez aurier ochoa for and Morgan that’s almost 70 mill quid spent with change to spare. Thank you.

  18. goonster says:

CG a sad what? Are you serious? The south Americans have been doing this for ages I didn’t see no uproar but as always blame the dutch
Sheesh and it’s netherlands not nederlamds. Grrrrr boy I outta

  19. Wath says:

Ts, I want a pacey direct striker who also has awareness, Think “S” is top top notch and if we don’t get him must admit i will be highly pissed off….! Not seen enough of Llorente to comment.

  20. Jay says:

I don’t want a Tottenham style ยฃ127 million spend on names, I would prefer Wenger did the same great job as always. Aurier, Caulker, Bender, Drimic, Remy would be very affordable and give us a real good chance of league success. I think we have a great squad already and signing a medical staff member to improve our injuries is a great addition. Most of the deadwood is gone from the squad and Wenger always makes the necessary additions to get the job done.

  21. goonster says:

WATH do you guys really believe we ll get sanchez? Like seriously? Haha not gonna happen. He ll probably end up in Monaco psg or maureen ll sign him just to cheese us off. Sanchez ain’t coming maybe Hugo sanchez of Mexico then ๐Ÿ˜€

  22. Wath says:

Stan, we been moaning about diving for decades and yes the South Americans are great at it, Italy refined it and now certain players from all over have taken it’s art form to a new level and Robben is one of them. The bloke is a disgrace and I always always shouted for Holland after England got knocked out in any competition but not this time. Anyway bottom line is it’s not Arsenal so I actually really don’t give a xxxx…..

  23. Canadian Gooner says:

Stan – Old fart that I may be, i am not jealous of the Oranje. They have paid a high price to advance to the next round. It is a sad reflection on you that you choose to defend an admitted cheat and serial diver. He is on record admitting that he dived during that game. He is a disgrace to the game, to himself and to his nation.

I`ll be rooting for the Ticos and Joel Campbell in the next game. Enough said.

  24. Wath says:

Stan, I honestly think we are in for him yes….. I also think “IF” and that’s a big “IF” Barca are willing to let him go then he would consider coming to us….!

    Hold onto those pants Stan…!

  25. goonster says:

Fair enough but arjen I’d just one man what about the rest of the team? What about years and years of heart break for the oranje faithful? Come on now robben is a coont we both agree on that but you can’t deny the talent this team has. It’s not the best dutch team ever but it’s up there ad one of the best. Hopefully We Win It and You Lot Can Shove It : grin:

  26. tsgh says:

    Goonie, Vidal was originally a DM/CM;

But has been playing anywhere in midfield to accomodate Pirlo and Pogba who are not as mobile…

VidaLeven played RM or wing back on a few occasions… but I guess with Chile he is playing as a no.10 but that is not his best position imho…
Do you know he was at DM/CM for B04?

  27. nick farrer says:

More chance lawrie sanchez comes wot a joke wenger prob busy on deins yacht topping up his tan blokes a clown !!

  28. Wath says:

    Hi Jay,

You say affordable like we skint and don’t have money to spend…! Why buy affordable when you can buy the best..? That lot down the road bought over priced and also players that went there for money due to no Champions League… It’s called desperate buys….. We won’t have that issue and Wenger needs to make the additions to get the job done like he hasn’t done previously in my opinion.

  29. goonster says:

CG I never defended the turd face ask WATH am just saying cut the team a slack. It’s not just about arjen you know.

  30. tsgh says:

Wath, as I said since last summer Aw messed up by getting disrupted by the LS07 clause.. we could have bought ‘S’ then… or even Negredo.

I think both RM and Barca need replacements for Xavi and Alonso…

Unfortunately with Gundogan injured and Koke deciding to stay with Ath, there are less options to go around.

Juve need a striker and because ‘s’ was originally with Udinese Juve thing they can get him; but Pogba will only move to RM due to Zidanne and not Barca… and both Barca and RM would want either Pogba or Vidal and would pay over the odds for either…

That means our Havard analysis will tell IG/Fox and AW to wait… me think.

  31. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, and what exactly was my opinion on Warne in 2006????
Obviously you don’t know as you never knew me then, so don’t presume to think I am as blinded as you, and winning is all that matters because that’s not me, nor has it ever been me.
Support Robben all you like, while I will maintain my position on all divers.
I’ve said for a long time I’d ban them for 12 months, not just since your boy won a game for you doing it.
Warne has always been as wanker in my opinion, and you’d never find me defending him or his actions!

  32. Scott From Oz says:

Why is there always someone saying we won’t get a big namer we are linked to?
    How quickly they forget Ozil.

  33. Scott From Oz says:

The best, Lee, but a wanker, none the less lol.
Liz Hurley dropped a lot in my estimation ๐Ÿ™‚

  34. Wath says:

Stan, your problem is mate the team is tarnished by the actions of one man just like Uruguay with jaws….! You have the cheat and Judas so for me it’s anyone but Holland this tournament lol

Ts, IG will kick that Harvard analysis out the window….. He know’s he carries the can for Wengers lack of transfer activity.

The mind-set last summer was massively wrong with all the eggs is the “jaws” transfer yet we knew we had met the clause but then didn’t know how to go forward as we expected him to agitate a move knowing full well clause was met… the time wasted then had the snow ball effect that we missed out on others that as you say we really should have got signed up.

  35. tsgh says:

Jay has Drmic not moved clubs recently from Nuremburg?

imho, Bender is not the same player he was 2 or 3 years ago… He allowed Cleverle and Carrick to run rings around him; no way especially for that fee! Voller misssed an opportunity to sell but then again the player said he did not want to move so… (without his twin brother)

Sven on the other hand is a proper DM but can’t play the box to box role but he will also cost more than Morgan who imho has been the best DM in the league behind cabaye and Toure for the last 2 or 3 seasons before Ramsey’s emergence…

Moreover, Lars and Sven have said they don’t want to play too far apart…

  36. tsgh says:

Goonie, don’t worry the Oranje as I said before the tournament will surprise folks…

My concern is Messi’s left foot but Argentina’s defense is hite as well so you still have a chance for the schronised diver tocon another ref… lol

It must be said again Higuain has been totally shit!

  37. Wath says:

Agree re Higuain, also Aguero not playing well…! Di Maria and Messi are holding the fort for the Argies….!

Who thinks Mexico can upset Brazil..?

I like Tajeda from Costa Rico as well, no nonsense player who defends well and does the simple things well.

  38. tsgh says:

Ochoa has been playing well for Ajaccio for 2 or so years but as i always say the prrssures playing for a team in relegation battle imo is different to the prerssures at the Emirates… The Spanish waiter comes to mind… lol

  39. goonster says:

WATH seriously what do you guys expect? Am dutch and it’s my national team. You know I can’t stand Ajax or any of their products. I hate arjen yes but I have to support the team it’s only right. Am dutch remember.

  40. tsgh says:

I like Chiles’ Charles Aranguiz ; I was looking at the distance covered figures for the teams/players who have played 4 games and he was ahead of everyone…

  41. Canadian Gooner says:

Stan – In your 10:54 a.m. posting “CG a sad what? Are you serious? The south Americans have been doing this for ages I didnโ€™t see no uproar but as always blame the dutch…“. That may well be so, but it does not justify Robben`s conduct.

If you accept the win, you accept his conduct. No equivocation.

Like Wath I would often cheer for the Oranje, but not now.

I said my piece on this matter.

  42. Nickie says:

    Wath,

Can’t agree with Tajeda, he’s a bit of a dirty git lol, would see many red cards in the prem

  43. Nickie says:

Aranguiz has impressed me too Ts, hard worker, cleans up all the mess and gets forward to join in with attacks. Shame we are packed out in midfield, he could have added very good squad depth

  44. Wath says:

Stan…. Can you see that big fishing rod outside your window with the big hook that you keep biting on………….. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  45. Wath says:

I agree Nickie he puts himself about but we lack that but also agreed he’d get sent off every other week in an Arsenal shirt with the decisions we get against us and how the refs love us so much….

Remy, just for you Kev ๐Ÿ˜‰

  46. tsgh says:

Nickie if we bought Aranguiz he can do what Ramsey’s does for us in less glamous games so we can have Ramsey firing in the biger games.

I think it is either him or Diaz who is dubbed the South American Xavi…

  47. Nickie says:

Before we buy any CMs i’d like to see one or 2 leave I think. Diaz has been around a while, didn’t think he was that exceptional this world cup. Wasn’t a stand out performer

  48. Lee says:

What about when Pires dived against Pompey during the invincible run? We didn’t stop supporting Arsenal, did we?

  49. goonster says:

Gee scott I ve never defended arjen my whole life ginge can testify to that. Am merely being patriotic. What do you want from me? Lol

  50. tsgh says:

Imo, with what we have seen in the WC so far and listening to AW in his world cup programmes I am certain he will continue with Arteta and JW as the pivots and look for a Khedira or an Aranguiz type player in the box to box role…

With the players we currently have and the way we play we need another box to box player rather than a static DM like Gustavo as we play better when we win the ball in the opposition half.

In order to accomplish that AW needs 2x Ramsey’s or a PV04 and Parlour plus Ljunberg hounding up the field…

That is why BM or AM do so well with Gabi, Turan and Koke hounding opposition in their half so they can break…

This year BVB struggled without Gundogan as Bender and Schmelzer and Kehl in the CM areas were less mobile imo

  51. Wath says:

I didn’t think that was a dive at all Lee, he was getting out of the way of getting kicked….!

Look at the grief he got for that as well…. Most of us also slagged the bloke off big time, he didn’t do it again after that though did he…!

Think it’s obvious, As a neutral your not going to follow a cheat, when it’s your own team you forgive…!

  52. Scott From Oz says:

Wath, when Santi did it, I said I’d give him 12 months like I’d give them all 12 months.
FIFA…or UEFA, as they’re now interchangeable :)…. Should give all players fair warning…..dive without contact and you will cop 12 months.
    How long would it last?
None of this crap about assuming contact…that’s a cop out.

  53. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – With the possible exception of Sami Khedira, as I don`t know enough about Vidal, Morgan Schneiderlin is probably the best option and best value for money. He has already shown what he can do in the BPL and needs no time to adapt. On top of that he has shown what he can do at the international level.

  54. Nickie says:

    Good tactical view Ts,

That’s why we were poorer in games with Flam and Arteta starting. Ozil can’t run the attacking midfield section on his own, he needs that drive from behind him to create space and add to attacks

  55. tsgh says:

We need a diver in the big games too… every team has one…
All you honest folks sound like AW not wanting to dope the game… ๐Ÿ™‚

Our unbeaten run was ended with Wooney’s dive if I am not wrong…
Sir Gerrard has dived for so long I am beginning to think he thought Jaws a thing or two…

Was mad Lehman not sent off in the UCL final for a dubious dive?

Maybe we can ask our expert on that matter Agag when she arrives. lol

  56. goonster says:

Can we move on please…Sheesh this is an arsenal blog not bash the dutch blog lol. Alright I hold my hands up. Yes he dived and trust me most fans back home ll rather win with honor than cheat but hey the deed is done. All we have to do is move on. Hopefully we get knocked out in the next round and make scotty oz a happy chappy ๐Ÿ˜€

  57. Wath says:

No Lee he’s getting shit for telling us to support them lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

I ain’t supporting them when judas would be the one lifting the trophy, not in a zillion lifetimes

  58. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, even better would be Robben and RVP being injured during training….then I couldn’t care how your side goes lol.

  59. goonster says:

Hahahahahahhaha WATH is such a sad sad little man. Well I hope we win it for me and for Bergkamp. How’s that WATH? You don’t want the iceman happy? Come on now. He’s an arsenal legend. The best foreigner to ever play in the epl. You wouldn’t want him sad would you ๐Ÿ˜€

  60. Scott From Oz says:

    Stan is, Lee hahaha.
    Seriously, I love the Dutch.
Well, except two of them, and no Stan! you’re not one of the two……promise.
Just keep Warne and Scott out of the same sentence mate lol.

  61. AndrewH says:

Good post Wath. Please Wenger, just for once, see the opportunities for obvious signings that we all can here. If we don’t bid under just to make sure we don’t get them (our Suarez tactic).

  62. goonster says:

Scotty oz never thought a day ll come you ll wish a fellow man evil and when that man is a noble honest man like robbing van herpes! Tsk tsk tsk. For shame ๐Ÿ˜€

  63. tsgh says:

Cg, I am with you Sir…

As I have been stating on here for nearly 2 years AW has been negligent for not buying either 1 of Cabaye or Morgan…

Time for AW to redeem himself…

To me Morgan’s experience and his background alone should have made him AW’s number 1 target for last season…

Last summer AW flirting with Josuha was understandable as he was cheap but AW making a ยฃ19m bid for Bender when ยฃ10m could have gotten Morgan was a bit short sighted imho….

AW likes players from certain academies and he ticks most of the boxes… maybe Aw does want Morgan because he is not injury prone ๐Ÿ˜›

I admit I don’t know much about Strausborgs academy but AW played there me think… nonetheless Morgan has been at Southampton long enough to become home grown.

Wath, with Ginter not getting any games yet in the WC his price will still be relatively lower.. will you settle for him?

  64. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – You should write an article for the House on what Arsenal need to complete their midfield (i.e. DM or box-to-box) and the merits and weaknesses of the possible/probable candidates. I’m sure Rico, Wath and most Housers would appreciate that.

  65. Wath says:

Stan, your trying to move the goalposts and you can’t make a cheesecake look like a black forest… DB10 would be telling you the same thing as I am… So there…! DB10 is class don’t ever mention him in the same comment and that ROBben cnut….! ๐Ÿ˜›

  66. tsgh says:

Nickie, re MA08 and MF20 I said it was not going to work even before they had played together…

My caveat then was that the midfield would need TR07 and AR16 in the line-up for it to work…

When AW played those players together against Naples at home it worked but whenever he replaced any of those 2 football brains (Ramsey, TR07) with young Ox or JW or even Santi the standard dropped because Ozil was having to change his runs to suit the team whilst TR07 and Ramsey changed their style for Ozil to flourish.

AW should have foreseen that imo…

  67. tsgh says:

Thanks Cg, i owe rico a post so that is a very good tip or matter…

    I was struggling with material…

  68. ktr7 says:

Good read rico.Personally i’ve accepted Giroud will be our 1st choice ST next season.Players like sanchez if he comes are brought in to complement him not replace.

  69. Nickie says:

Yeah, I guess we won’t have the problem for much longer, Pod, Caz, Rosicky, Arteta and Flamini will all be 30+ this season. When you think of our midfield you think we plenty of depth, reality of it is we probably need 3 of the above for experience and as squad fillers. We actually will need a midfield re shuffle next season unless he sorts it out in this window.

  70. Canadian Gooner says:

Lee – I remember when Robert Pires took his big dive. At the time many Arsenal supporters criticised or condemned him for that and he dropped that from his game.

A few years prior to that, Anders Limpar got away with a sly elbow to an opponent`s head as he galloped down the wing. He too was roundly criticised by many Gooners. No one suggested we stop supporting the club though.

  71. Wath says:

Grumpy old men now your here Micko….

Ts, you know I like Ginter and for the sake of potential as well as the fact I think he’s already a very good player I’d have him in for Vermaelen any day of the week. He can also help out in midfield in an emergency although we just need to buy proper midfielders in any case.

  72. ktr7 says:

Ts its definite we are not going to buy a static DM like Gustavo.I agree with you on that but i don’t rate khedira as highly as you do.I would not trust him to play with Ramsey.I find him a tad overrated.

  73. Canadian Gooner says:

Micko – In my case, a sad grumpy old man. I`m going to try out for the Jack Lemon role when they remake Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men. My kids would tell you I`d be a shoe in.

  74. Wath says:

Kt, don;t you think “S” complimenting Giroud would be an upgrade and make us at least 10% better up front…?

We all been saying we need options and pace “S” would bring that..!

  75. Wath says:

CG, you got no chance mate… Kev has that role sewn up… ready made for him that is and Lee is his back up…! I’ll direct…! Micko wants to be tea boy…!

  76. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Afternoon Smarties and lollipops

Nice post Wath. Remy would make me happy as well because I like fast players.

Poor Chile. I really wanted them to win. Yesterday I saw the dutch as well. They were unfortunate to win only 2-1 as I felt they played against Ochoa only. Good keeper. and he is on a Bosman. What is AW waiting for?

  77. Micko says:

Wath, you need to organise a jolly to Costa Rica, they are now officially number 1 on the world happy football index.

  78. Tai Emeka Obasi says:

Why do I keep getting this nasty feeling this summer will be a disappointment for Gunners’ fans?

  79. Canadian Gooner says:

Lee – Yes Stan should be allowed to support the Oranje. Although he doesn`t need our permission for that. We couldn`t ask him to support the U.S. of A. just because he lives there.

  80. Wath says:

Like your thinking Micko, will have a word with Lee, he’s the chaps jolly weekends organiser although that will have to be a week long jolly it’s a tad far for a weekend.

  81. ktr7 says:

It would wath but in big games the few chances will normally fall to the main striker and Giroud will still miss.I have low expectations this summer regarding transfers.

  82. Canadian Gooner says:

Wath – Kev can have the Walter Mathau role. We`ll be a great team. Just look back over our postings this past season. We can bicker just as well as Lemon and Mathau.

  83. Wath says:

I think your right CG, I’ll take the part of any drunken person then……

Kt, think with his movement “S” would get many chances and Giroud would improve as well as he does do well with his lay offs and little flicks….. Awaits an Adam comment on a little flick….!

Until Sep 1st Kt i will remain confident on transfers.

  84. ktr7 says:

    Sven Claes @svenclaes 36m
#Arsenal is negotiating with David Henen
(18). Belgian striker from #RSCA played
last year on loan for Monaco. Fee: โ‚ฌ1.5M

    Its so wenger isn’t it?

  85. Scott From Oz says:

KT, do you also believe we are in for Sanchez, Benzema and the like.
I mean, rumours are rumours ๐Ÿ™‚

  86. Canadian Gooner says:

Wath – I think `S` and Giroud could work well together . Even better than Griezmann and Giroud. Although I think it would be more the case of Giroud setting up and assisting `S` than the other way round.

  87. ktr7 says:

WATH I agree with what you are saying but for me Giroud isn’t good enough to be our 1st choice plain and simple.he is never going to be decisive enough for us in those tight games.he is a big part of our problem in attack.he didn’t even score a single goal from outside the box FFS!!So long as he starts for us we are always going to just miss out on major trophies.am sick and tired of him as our 1st choice.he is a decent back up and thats it.

  88. Canadian Gooner says:

It`s very late and I`ve have to get a few hours sleep befofre the first game kicks off.

Have a great day everybody, Stan that includes you. Keep The Faith!

  89. Hell Raising Devil says:

Seems as if Barca have agreed a fee with the dippers for Sua…bite yer body….rez.

And they have also agreed with the player himself.

  90. ktr7 says:

Scott I believe we are after “S”.I believe so and a few weeks back i wrote a post about us needing an x factor sort of player and i even recommended him back then.whether we get him on the other hand…

  91. Wath says:

    Cheers CG, sleep well,

I hear what your saying Kt, just don’t think Giroud is as crap as you make out and needs better quality around him which will obviously make him better.

  92. tsgh says:

Lol Kt- that means if I rate khedira a 6/10 then you must rate him 4/10 then…
I think its Snap who rates him the highest on here..
I like you think the move to RM was a wrong one …

  93. ktr7 says:

I’ve not said he is crap wath;don’t get me wrong.he is just not good enough to be our 1st choice.as a back up for a club with big ambitions that is what he should be.

  94. Tai Emeka Obasi says:

A lot of inventions…. a lot of rumours…all the summer, there’s NEVER been one truth about our targets…some smart and not even so smart freelancers just set us up for fun, twist it a little later and entirely when it becomes necessary…and all we do is hop around in circles. Who would have believed Balotelli was all teasing!

  95. bondex says:

Tai, same question as Scott …… its all part of the summer. Only that we don’t ever get early presents . I think this will continue till the last day and you know how much the journalists like us, we make their jobs easier.

  96. ktr7 says:

Ts let me explain why I don’t really rate khedira that highly. When you watch Ramsey and Ozil play especially off the ball you’ll notice they always seem to be in space most of the time.Ozil moreso who is pgenomenal at it.I watched him keenly against Ghana at the WC and he always seems to be free in space.its like if there are opponents surrounding him you feel if you could draw a circle in that scenario he would be right in the middle free in space.

Khedira for me doesn’t avail himself to the ball enough.that for me is a deal breaker especially considering the expansive game we play.

  97. Hell Raising Devil says:

Kt….Khedira has to stop other teams from creating spaces for themselves. So he has to stick to opponents most of the time. Like Gilberto used to do. He often cuts down moves in the bud.

  98. Wath says:

You beat me to it Dev, that’s what I was going to say about Khedira, he not there to get forward so much Kt, want him breaking the game up defensively…! We got others to get forward.

I’d still take Remy as well even if we got “S”…. just think added pace as an option is always a good thing going forward.

  99. Wath says:

    A comment taken from twitter

“David Henen is 18 & 6โ€ณ1, can play ST/Wing. Milan, Inter, Utd, Leverksen & Dortmund want him. Italian paper compared him to Neymar & CR7.”

  100. ktr7 says:

Khedira is not a DM though. For both Germany/Madrid he has played in front of Schweinsteiger/Alonso in the Ramsey role.he never plays as the deepest midfielder.he doesn’t play in front of the back 4.when madrid played him there in the CL final he struggled so much since its not a role he is familiar with.

  101. tsgh says:

So true Kt re Khedira… my view has always been that we need another Ramsey in the squad as Abou ‘Clean life’ Diaby can’t be relied upon. That was why I am for khedira if we are to go foriegn in that department.

In the idea world it would be Morgan and no one else…

Alonso even corrected Graeme on British TV on the UCL build up..
RM’s DM for the season have been the ex-sperds man and Alonso in the 2 pivot in the diamond formation Ancelotti favours…

  102. ktr7 says:

Also devil/wath despite the defensive duties that doesn’t stop Ramsey from availing himself to the ball does it?…its a critical ingridient for me.even Busquets shows up for support always despite being the DM.
To be honest I’d rather Wenger work with Wilshere to carve out a role for him in the team than buy Khedira.as weird as it sounds I think jack as Capello predicted while in charge of England will end up playing as the deepest midfielder.

  103. Wath says:

Problem for me with Jack as the deep lying midfielder is I don’t want a short arse in front of the back four. No protection from the hoof ball merchants in the prem lge…! We need height in the spine of the team.

  104. ktr7 says:

He does wath but the point is he doesn’t play as the deepest midfielder for neither club nor country.even lahm is trusted to play there over him by the Die mannschaft.he is a box to box player that is inferior to Ramsey.he is not the Gilberto type of player many claim him to be. he cannot replace Arteta in our setup.he can only be a back up to ramsey or diaby’s replacement.

  105. Wath says:

Well he don’t need to do much to replace Diaby does he lol
Lahm is more mobile which is why I think the krauts play him behind Khedira, I think he could play the Arteta role he has the footballing brain and def the size. Until it happens we won’t know.

The more I see of him the more my first choice is Schneiderlin and again that is in part due to the fact he has the prem lge experience over any of the others mentioned and the fact he’s at a really good age.

  106. Hell Raising Devil says:

Same here Wath. I prefer Schneiderlin to anyone else.

Even for attack I prefer Remy like Kev.

But I still would go for Sanchez.

    And GET OCHOA/OSPINA now.

  107. Hell Raising Devil says:

NEWCASTLE United right-back Mathieu Debuchy is on the verge of a move to Arsenal, according to a report in France.

French media outlet Infosport claims the 28-year-old is set to join the Gunners as a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has signed for Manchester City on a free transfer.

Debuchy joined Newcastle in January 2013 from Lille, and became a fansโ€™ favourite at St Jamesโ€™s Park.

However, his future on Tyneside is now looking increasingly uncertain.

  108. Wath says:

If we sign him Dev he’ll have to calm down a bit some of his tackles in an Arsenal shirt will mean plenty red cards…..

  109. goonster says:

Men my head is spinning with too many rumors and counter rumors. Sheeesh just unveil someone already. Can’t take any more of this.

  110. goonster says:

How stupid is that…sold an ageing french back only to replace him with another. What happened to aurier? See what I mean? No one can predict what that french tosser will do. Dang I wouldn’t wanna play poker with arsene. I ll sooner put a bullet in his head than go through all that mind game

  111. Hell Raising Devil says:

Goonie……..Debouchy is nearly three years younger than Bac.

is the princess ok or still poorly?

  112. agirlagunner says:

Great talking points, WATH. ๐Ÿ™‚ Another big signing in the mold of Ozil will certainly give the club a lift; with income from the Cesc and Vela contracts, the recent cull in players, new Puma deal, we can definitely afford marquee signings.

I see you lot have been giving goonie grief. ๐Ÿ˜†

  113. Hell Raising Devil says:

    mould of Ozil only Agag??

you want him in the mould of RVP as well. Or DB10 ๐Ÿ˜‰

  114. Wath says:

Stan has a new found love for ROBben AGAG, it’s disgusting but then again it’s all for love of his Country and high diving…!

Stan the rumours keep you sane, imagine there was no news what so ever… No go change a nappy…!

  115. agirlagunner says:

I haven’t really watched much of Schneiderlin, but I’ve seen plenty of Khedira, and I honestly think he is the business! The way I see it, he always prevents the formation from being too heavy up top. I think he is very smart with his runs, and definitely knows how to break up play. We have enough players who bomb forward, we need one that has the discipline to play deeper and shield the back four. The way he plays is hardly glamorous/flash, but he gets the job done.

  116. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Throughout the summer
for Goonie, transfers are a bummer,
a suggestion for him to be happy,
would be to change a nappy.

With his face full of pee
and the baby shrieking with glee
Goonie went to wipe his face,
smudging poo all over his grace.

  117. agirlagunner says:

Dev, point well taken. Haha. My comment was meant to take off on our lack of big buys in recent years; which trend the Ozil purchase bucked. ๐Ÿ˜› Oh, and is there anyone else like DB10?

WATH, anyone here cheering on Robben should warrant serious time at the sin bin!!

  118. Wath says:

That’s how I see Khedira as well AGAG although if Real want to start an auction which am sure they do then for me Schneiderlin is the best value and a few years younger plus has the prem lge experience.

  119. Hell Raising Devil says:

The only plusses for Khedira are the German contingent and his experience at international level.

The plusses for Schneiderlin are his age, his EPL experience, the fee, the salary, the french contingent, his ability to defend the midfield.

  120. Hell Raising Devil says:

I write poems and prose for the school students Agag. That was done on the spur of the moment.

  121. goonster says:

Howdy lil mama…WATH is just jealous we might actually win a proper world cup whole hus darling 3 lion cubs can’t do squat. DG brianna is alright thank you. Cassie is back home now thank God and is showing signs of recovery. Thanks guys for all your concerns and prayers. Really appreciate you guys.

  122. Wath says:

Schneiderlin is more mobile and quicker than Khedira…. they both good in the air and i’d say Schneiderlin better in the tackle…! Price could be about the same Dev, +- 20 million…! In which case i’d go for Schneiderlin all day long.

  123. goonster says:

WATH on the contrary the rumors drives me insane. I want an end to the transfer window. It brings nothing but grief to us gooners. That’s why I know sanchez us a pipe dream. Never gonna happen. I ve seen all this before. Mata mvilla higuain and lately remy aurier and balotelli. Come on now. We ll probably end up with Jermaine defoe’s cousin.

  124. agirlagunner says:

All the top players want to go to Madrid, Barca, BM for the glamor; and Citeh, Chelsea, PSG for the money. It’s really rather sad.

WATH, additionally, re: Khedira, that he started in the CL finals, over Ilarramendi and even while he was rusty from injury, says how much Ancellotti appreciates his defensive work. Only Madrid’s most important fixture of the season. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  125. agirlagunner says:

Dev, I thought you coached football, not poetry. ๐Ÿ˜›

goonie, great to hear about Cassie’s progress. I hope little Brianna doesn’t adopt your colorful language though. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

WATH is Schneiderlin tall, too? He must be the one French international in England that I haven’t really watched.

  126. Wath says:

Stan, the only one who got excited about Mata was you… you brought all that shit upon yourself lol

AGAG, players that want to come to us want to come for the Class and the History…. the rest can f**k right off.

Don’t get me wrong i’d be more than chuffed with Khedira but I know Real are scum to do business with and are very under handed.

  127. Hell Raising Devil says:

wait patiently Agag. Soon it will be us for glamour and the money as well.

    I am certain of it/

  128. agirlagunner says:

goonie, I still remember your “watch this space” comments on Higuain; how I laughed when moved to Napoli and he and AW said we didn’t even make an offer. You were so convinced we had signed him.

  129. Hell Raising Devil says:

I like reading as well Agag. it helps me unwind as much as HH does. And when you read a lot you begin to do poetry and prose yourself.

  130. agirlagunner says:

I swear, it really still surprises me that other clubs have fans. Haha. As far as I’m concerned only AFC is worth supporting.

When I’m traveling, and I meet Englishmen who laugh when I say support Arsenal, I always make it a point to say, you’re a Chav/Manc/Scouser, and that’s hardly anything to be proud of. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Dev, I love the spirit of your 3:42. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  131. agirlagunner says:

I used to like to read; I’m too lazy these days, Dev. I like super dramatic stuff though. Hahaha.

  132. goonster says:

Then agag you re gonna love my new book then. It’s so dramatic you ll think a am a drama queen ๐Ÿ˜€

  133. agirlagunner says:

What book? Written by you? That will just be full of cussing and hyper behavior. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

  134. Hell Raising Devil says:

    The new book ………..

    Goonie’s New nappy changing techniques

    by The blonde Adonis.

    Edited by Rico and Wath.

    Proof read by AllezKev

    Criticized by Adam

  135. Wath says:

AGAG Schneiderlin is 6ft tall, not massive but at least not a short arse like most in our team lol

  136. agirlagunner says:

Okay, that’s not bad then, WATH. I wish Sanchez, Vidal, Valbuena were at least that tall. Haha. Unfortunately…

Imagine them lining up with Theo, Jack, Santi… Oh my.

  137. goonster says:

Hahahahah hey agag you forgot zizou francescolli and Luis figo. Come on maam wake up from your dream. There no way in hell dem players join us
The chavs won’t allow them. Even the spuds have more ambition than us

  138. Wath says:

Hark at the donis…. or is that blonde doris…?

“S” up front don’t need to be tall…. quick tricky and direct………. Hmmmmm

  139. agirlagunner says:

We will have at least one majorly major signing, goonie. I can feel it. Now that AW has felt a trophy in his hands again, he’ll want more. Of course, he’d still rummage through the bargain bin, but mark my words, we’ll have a top, top quality signing this trf window.

Zizou is one of my absolute faves; I named one of our dogs after him.

  140. Wath says:

I’ll def proof read and have to delete and and all stats… will that leave me with anything more than one sentence…? ๐Ÿ˜‰

You have my email eh Ts…!

  141. goonster says:

Gee agag I want the French and Germans out. Easy route to the trophy. Support us the dutch remember you went to Amsterdam last year.

  142. Nickie says:

I want either France or Germany to win for the Arsenal players, plus I have France in the sweep at work ๐Ÿ™‚

  143. agirlagunner says:

goonie, but I also went to Paris. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Tbh, I enjoyed my short stay in Amsterdam much better.

  144. BrainwashedKev says:

Blonde Doris, I am sorry if I took the Lords name in vain…

Stan is in the past, it’s Doris now… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  145. goonster says:

Gee WATH you sound like we are the chavs of the world cup. Anyone but chelsea. But mark my words English man we ll triumph and I ll rub it in your face.

  146. goonster says:

Come on Nigeria….come super eagles. Make me proud. Heck I have a few Nigerian friends. Bondex sukky and tai. Come on yeeeeeeaaaaaah.

  147. Mr Wath says:

You won’t be rubbing anything in my face Stan just drying your eyes as normal when Holland fail as normal lol

  148. Wavy says:

Just watching F range, noticed Pogba, I think he may be the new Diaby! Got everything, including the legs!

  149. Mr Wath says:

Decent game actually very open…! France giving the ball away tons.

Hope the mancs keep Vera another season, he getting roasted

  150. George says:

allo allo! We ain’t signing Sanchez, nor Benzema, Nor Remy Nor anyone who will cost us more than 8m. So no point getting all excited. Everyone has a wishlist, naturally. Mine is that we don’t sell anyone else from our team. Fed up of us being a feeder club. Diaby will be like a new signing, and I am bracing for another high profile exit that will shock us…..

agag…I hate evra with a passion(there’s one who could of done with a Martin Keown neck cuddle)

  151. agirlagunner says:

Varane’s neck caught in the net. What the fudge?? FFS, France, shape up. Put those shooting boots on!

  152. agirlagunner says:

Benzema is the least interested person on the pitch. So of course, Giroud is replaced. Pfff. Benzema had damn well better score.

  153. Micko says:

I’m with you George, why would arsene buy sanchez for 40 million to secure 4th place when Remy can do the same for 10 !

  154. Micko says:

Agag, 1 nil france, Benzema, love hanging myself out to dry.

France quite dirty today, getting away with a lot of nasty challenges.

  155. goonster says:

Am disgusted by you lot. What happened to supporting the underdogs? Seeing agag and WATH shriek in delight really makes my skin crawl. Am so sad right now.

  156. agirlagunner says:

Goonie, I go on the strength of AFC representation. ๐Ÿ˜› Except spain, cos even with Santi, I wanted them to lose.

  157. agirlagunner says:

Lol, Mr WATH. I am off to nap, before the Krauts put on a show.

It is nice to see the coaches and players be all gracious for a change.

  158. George says:

agag, was appenin lady? Micko, we are tight end of…..AS long as we keep whats left, and buy a cut price remy-that’ll do , plus a cheapo goalie like Readings Alex Mccarthy, or the mophead of mexico.

As for a RB, we will go with Jenks and a kid as reserve. Koz can play there too, meaning Verm will get more playing time.

  159. George says:

I know wath lol…till walmart buzzes off same old same old.

Our rivals buy defenders and we buy Nachos!

They buy strikers like negerdo and dzeko for the bench and we rely on the great samurai warrior dane who cant keep his pants on …

  160. Mr Wath says:

Dev, you just know Stan is a closet kraut and sitting there in his lederhosen cheering them on

  161. goonster says:

DG am not scared just supporting the underdogs. I live a saintly life u like yours truly…WATH.

  162. goonster says:

WATH I can’t wait to rub it in your face when we finally lift the world cup. God wait for it. I bet you ll go awol for a few weeks.

  163. Micko says:

Stan, for what it’s worth wath likes to think he’s a double hard north london geezer but I think you’ve got him rattled !!! Keep fighting ya corner bruv.

  164. Mr Wath says:

11am, WTF must I do til then….. I will die of thirst before then…!

Def off down the pub now then before I dehydrate.

  165. Micko says:

Merts looks like he was born for International football, so assured, still not convinced he’s good enough for the arse though !!!

  166. Micko says:

That boat ain’t gonna pay for itself scott…..stop whinging !

Nothing to choose between the two sides first half but you just know Germany’s quality will shine through………..famous last words agag.

  167. Micko says:

Algeria, one eye on extra time, muller still sniffing.
    Extra time it is.
Klose to steal the show ?
    Nite all.

  168. Gonerjoe says:

Pics of new Puma kit on arsenal.com it’s white 3 players in a full white kit with lots of red writing.

  169. tsgh says:

    Jow was that possible?

16 of the 23 players from the Algerian squad had been fasting prior to Germany Game. They ave played with pure energy though! Respect.

  170. tsgh says:

    Not bad Scott…

Just trying to stay motivated in an half empty office… almost everyone is on holiday or working from home…

Still, I have HH to keep me going. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  171. Wath says:

    Morning All,

Quite a scare for the krauts… Algeria caused them lots of problems but alos Algerian keeper played very very well.

  172. Lee says:

So Puma deal, new kit and a plethora of new signings all today!!
    Only a matter of time!
    Happy birthday Alan Sunderland!
