Nothing left to play for? Wrong!

Morning all.

We’ve seen this team under perform, we’ve seen the manager sit back and do little about it and putting the two together has seen the worst string of results in years. Having been dumped out of both the Champions League and FA Cup and sitting too many points off of the top, one could think there’s little if anything for Arsenal to play for but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

What about a bit of pride, a bit of passion for the shirt on the players backs and what about the fans too, don’t they deserve much better than they’ve seen of late? Of course they do and they’ll be a good number of travelling fans today who have got up very early this morning to make the long journey to Liverpool. They deserve to see a bit more spirit and effort from all involved in the lunchtime kick-off.

Yes Everton have a few players who are on form but this Arsenal squad is full of seasoned international players, there’s absolutely no excuse for them not playing a lot better than they have of late. There’s no excuse for the manager allowing them to.

Even if Arsenal don’t win the league which is looking highly unlikely, get through this last string of matches by winning them all then at the end of the season, what will be will be. That’s the time when the owner, board and manager need to sort this club out and make it good again and I don’t mean financially, I mean on the pitch.

Arsene Wenger and a few of the ex-players don’t like the banners and booing, well how about giving the fans something to cheer instead.

Even if it is for just a couple of months!

It’s same old same old for years, the nearly there team. Just one question to point to the club’s future, i.e. how ambitious is kroenke really? Shameless sucker actually.

  2. Iceman says:

Lack of desire and passion for the badge. Too many lazy, comfortable players earning way too much money (Theo) and a manager who was once great but is now out of touch with modern football and too powerful. We need serious change. We need a manager who rips the shit out of lazy, underachieving players, but most of all – and sadly the hardest to achieve, we need to get rid of silent Stan – who we all know is just in it for the money.

  3. Intolerant Kev says:

    Morning Rico…

From your post yesterday, you quoted this from Wenger

‘Let’s improve the quality of our game then the strikers will benefit.’

    Wtf does that mean???

The quality of our game is irrelevant if the blokes up front aren’t good enough.
And they clearly are not good enough.
They are the players he scouted, he signed, he coached, he plays, it’s all bullshit…

He talks an absolute load of fcuking shit.
    Nobody listens to him anymore.
Well the majority of the Arsenal fan base seem to switch off when comes on…

His post match interviews are just a rehash of the same old, tired, empty excuses…

    It’s a fcuked up…

  4. goonster says:

Lol manager who was once great?? Yeah right. Hahahahahah that cnut was never great. He inherited a superb back 5. Probably the best defense in Europe back back then, not to forget Bergkamp was also available. If he was so great why did big tone and the others kick him out and had a closed door meeting before overhauling manure to win the title. Great my ass. The writing was on the wall from the onset. 2 European finals in 20 years yet lost both. Great manager indeed. Morning good people. Seriously rico I don’t know why you bother. Watching arsenal these days is like watching my cassie slowly die away last 2 years. It was heart wrenching.

  5. potter says:

I keep hearing about how ungrateful Arsenal supporters are . but what is missed is that we don’t think that we have a divine right to win things. Just a desire to see progress instead of stagnating at so far and no further.

  6. goonster says:

For all those calling for him to go. I hate to break it to you. He’s not leaving anytime soon. He built the club remember? We owe him. He calls the shots. He decides when he leaves. Get ready for a shocker because the board ll offer him a new 3 years contract. Am sorry guys but I see no end to this. We re stuck with lecnut.

  7. Steve says:

As much as I cheer an Arsenal victory at any time, the reality is we are now playing for the benefit of our bank manager. Playing for fourth is merely part of a cycle where we gain entry to a competition which to us is a series of exhibition matches and an important revenue stream.

Fourth allows a smug Wenger to stand at the AGM and declare that we have won a trophy. It allows him to declare that this is his best ever squad and it allows him to sit on his cheque book all summer, while handing out new contracts to the aged and lame. And worst of all, it allows him to repeat the same cycle for at least another three years.

  8. goonster says:

I doubt it MG. He has a thick skin. He can handle it. The only way he leaves is through violence. Am not advocating for it but it’s time to pepper the cnut with tomatoes and rotten oranges. He needs to feel our wrath. Boos and banners won’t work. Will only stiffen his resolve.

  9. goonster says:

Steve what irks me is that some people ll still buy the whole “4th is a trophy shit “. I know a dude that can’t imagine an arsenal without wengker!!! He’s literally petrified. Am lost for words. How blind can you be to see that wenger is shit!

God Rico I dont know what planet you are living on if you think the current manager will do anything to change things around this summer any more than he has done in recent summers. Or that the owner or board will come any were near the shit show we are in for during next transfer window.

  11. Me says:

Arsenal is about making money therefore our best chance of getting shot of him is to finish fifth – sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards

  12. goonster says:

Team sheet is out and Campbell is missing again. Wonder what the poor bastard have to do to get a game?

  13. rico says:

Arsenal starting XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Monreal, Coquelin, Elneny, Iwobi, Ozil, Alexis, Welbeck

Arsenal substitutes: Macey, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Chambers, Campbell, Walcott, Giroud

  14. goonster says:

Yes rico but iwobi before Campbell??? Come on now. Iwobi is not a winger. We need width not pass masters. It beggars belief.

  15. rico says:

My good was for Walcott being on the bench. Really don’t understand why Campbell isn’t getting more playing time..

Considering Iwobi played on Wednesday, I’m surprised AW is starting him again being younger..

  16. goonster says:

I think he’s trying to take the credit incase the little tyke breaks forth and becomes a beast in the future. You know how he thinks. This is the same man that wouldn’t keep aneke afobe et al. Man I physical hate this guy.

  17. Wavy says:

    Morning Rico, morning all.

Good clarion call to the Arsenal fans and players to restart delivering the goods. Sad thing is I can’t see more than one half decent result between now and the end of the season. The team’s confidence is so poor and their playing style so predictable the blind 11 could run rings round them!
Normally I would expect Arsenal to go to Everton and thump them, the best I can muster today is a draw, which is neither use nor ornament! The slippery slope has finally arrived and down the table we go! Our form at the moment is little better than Villa’s. Now that is an indictment!

Shall I watch the game today? Of course I will, will I enjoy the outcome? Of course I won’t. I’m fully prepared for another miserable weekend.

    Ho hum.

  18. goonster says:

Am hearing there ll be 2 new wenger out banners unveiled at Goodison park today. Good 😀 let’s show that cnut that we won’t take this sitting down. Wenger out.

  19. goonster says:

Wavy you ve been on a roll this past week mister 😀 hahahahahah I feel your pain my man. I feel your pain.

  20. rico says:

    Morning Wavy..

Last time we went there it was a draw wasn’t it and the time before, a hammering. Gawd help us…

    🙂 Goonie, me harsh – never…. lol

  21. goonster says:

Rico we ll win today. I have that feeling we ll make the top 4 again and as usual the board ll renew his contract. We ll win today. 2.1 you heard it here first.

  22. goonster says:

Sorry scott but we play better without your love child. The one touch is back. Long live elneny 😀 what a goal.

  23. Marinello says:

Hi Rico, Goonster, Wavy, Kev and Micko,
I really hope they come out at Goodison and put a full shift in.
What a roller coaster of a season, lots of early over promise cancelled out by
    under delivery.
Walcott needs a fresh start at another Club, he’s another nearly man. The team needs
a few players who are on the same wavelength as Ozil, who can read and make the runs
into areas where he can find them. We appear void of ideas when we do not score early…

  24. goonster says:

Elneny is twice the player Rambo is…there i said it. He has his work cut out for him. I don’t see him getting his spot back. It ll take a mammoth effort to dislodge this dude.

  25. goonster says:

Halftime thoughts….question where was this arsenal against United Southampton and Swansea??? It’s like I ve always maintained. Our players ain’t shit. It’s picking the right team and tactics that’s killing us. Wow we look like arsenal 2008 all over again. Movement passing and great interplay. Even Sanchez haven’t put a foot wrong. Give it to the manager. Kudos when it’s due. Now do this regularly and no one ll question you. Good half guys. Am buzzing 😀

  26. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, you weren’t questioning Ramsey 18 months ago.
    Funny.
A few weeks back you were, however , questioning Elneny and the decision to buy him.

  27. rico says:

    🙂 Goonie, me neither..

i think the problem with the pen shout is he went to ground late but regardless, it should have been seen when he was fouled..

Thought the same goonie, why are we only seeing this effort today??

  28. Kel says:

Considering i have a 2 day hangover, this performance is giving me hope to recover lol..

I wasn’t to happy when we signed welbeck, but I have to admit I’m sure glad we have him atm work rate is immense.

  29. ScottfromOz says:

The Sanchez dive was a fukking embarrassment, but hey, he’s one of our marquee players.
    Disgusted.

  30. Wavy says:

If things don’t change and we win I shall mostly be making humble pie for my tea!

Not seen them play like this, fast and furious, determined and direct for a long, long time!

Where has it been? Over coached?

I really need another 45 minutes of the same from Arsenal then, just maybe the rest of the weekend will be cheerful!

  31. goonster says:

Scotty Oz with Rambo in this team the transition from attack to defense won’t be that fast and smooth. He kills us in the middle. Gives the ball away and holds on to it for too long. No one is slamming Ramsey but he’s only had a half season patch where he was one of the best players in the league but since then he has regressed and go check my previous post before we signed elneny. I was a fan. Was excited when we signed him. Rico could help you pull it up if you doubt me. Elneny better than Ramsey. End of.

  32. Kel says:

Exactly rico just a few to many and adding my dad’s 60th birthday on St paddys day into the mix… I’m only surfacing now lol 🙂

Elneny looks so composed, a simple but impressive player.

  33. rico says:

I’ve thought that before goonster but with this team, it isn’t over until it’s over…

How did Clattenburg not give a free kick?

  34. goonster says:

Rico not this game. Game set Match 😀 it’s over I tell ya 😀 we look so good everton are out of ideas.

  35. goonster says:

He brushed him aside rico. That’s how arrogant that man is. Why not listen to a team doctor? Why??

  36. goonster says:

Tell me about it rico. Him and Rambo don’t suit our fast paced passing game. That’s why Sanchez struggle to play with both.

  37. madgunnerTT says:

The pressure is off as we no longer can win anything and Arsenal start playing. How typical of us to wake up start performing to secure the only trophy we will ever master on a regular basis, the 4th place trophy.Delighted for the young guy though he has been good and deserved a goal.

  38. rico says:

I’m off out with the woofa.

Well played Arsenal, thoroughly deserved three points…. Let’s hope the two above us drop points this weekend…

    Catch up later..

  39. goonster says:

Lol rico my man of the match was bellerin. He kept cleverley on his toes all game but yes iwobi did good 😀

  40. ScottfromOz says:

    Sanchez took a dive.
    Defending him is a joke.
He copped a little contact, took two strides and fell over.
    Embarrassing, and disgusting.

  41. Kel says:

Great result for the gunners, let’s hope we push on now and win 5 or 6 on the bounce.

Forget about the title tho we won’t claw that back imo..

  42. potter says:

Surprised Scott .I thought he was put off balance and it was a penalty. But maybe it looks different upside down.

  43. goonster says:

Let it go scotty Oz 😀 we won and was pretty good without your boy Rambo 😀 is that what’s eating you up?? Lol

  44. goonster says:

Spot on kel that’s all we ever ask for. Show heart and desire. Make an effort and no one will question you. They did really well. Our best away performance since shitty last year. Good job arsene.

  45. Wavy says:

Well done the Arsenal. Don’t mind admitting ii was wrong! So, I’m off to google ‘humble pie’ and its ingredients! Can’t say I’m really looking forward to tea!?

  46. goonster says:

How’s it going brudder?? Enjoyed the game, no?? Like santi ll say. Man how we ve missed that little magician. How’s the missus adam??

  47. Adam says:

Hi Stan. She is well thank you. Yes, I watched with low expectation and was surprised. A lot of good performances out there but I thought Everyon got away with a lot of spiteful stuff. Hands to the face, stamping on toes and the disallowed Giroud goal was curious too.
Hope you and Brianna are well mate.

  48. Intolerant Kev says:

    Hi there Marinello…

Hi Adam, where there life, there’s hope…

    We fight on…

Considering the recent results, and everyone’s expectations, that was a top top performance…

But it will mean nothing if it’s not replicated 8 more times this season.
    Then we’ll have a slim slim chance…

    Now COYEagles…

  49. Intolerant Kev says:

Hey Brudder Stan, how’s it hanging…?

I’ll be looking forward to MOTD for a change, this evening…

  50. Intolerant Kev says:

Interesting point of view over Sanchez there Scott…

On the BBC website Pat Nevin, ex-Everton, said it was a pen, twice over and Howard Webb also said it was a pen…

I will watch if this evening on MOTD but considering how Arsenal are treated re: pens, and what has been said by pundits, I would have to say that you might be being a tad harsh on Alexis…

  51. Joaquim Moreira says:

Coquelin-Elhemy is completely diferent of other solution with Ramsey, Flamini, Arteta…
    3 points (finally!) without contestation.
The old problema is why we not shot when we have chances to do it?
WH 1 up. A shot outsider the penalty area.

  52. goonster says:

Yes kev it was a performance that ll bring smiles to anyone’s face. We were purring for an hour. Took our foot of the gas yet they couldn’t get to us. Like I ve always maintained our players aren’t shit. It’s picking the best team and tactical nous that’s killing us. Welbeck Sanchez ozil and little iwobi were interchanging all through the game it gave the toffes a huge headache. We look good guys. Trophy or not if we play like this every game no one ll complian. So it begs the question how come we never seem to play like this every match??? Was stan kroenke on the pitch today? Did he select the team?? Or deploy the tactics??? Stop beating an already dead dog. Wenger is the problem with arsenal not kroenke!

  53. Joaquim Moreira says:

my opinion: there were two faults over Alexis. Probably in the last on He may have made theater at last, as a result of the first infringement and the way waved his arms, only it was knocked down and may not have known fall normally without doing theater.

  54. goonster says:

JM my team is on top of the premier liga in Portugal 😀 am ecstatic. I love benfica 😀 I know you re a Porto man aren’t ya??

  55. ScottfromOz says:

Guys, i actually saw the game.
I also saw the dive 3 times.
Once you see a replay, you will concede it was a blatant dive.
Ive said forever and a day that divers should cop 12 months and yes, Alexis should.
Two steps after contact then falls over??
I dont care who said it was a penalty, because they’re either a liar, biased or dont know the game.
    160k a week…is that what hes on??
He’s in shit form so resorts to this????

  56. goonster says:

Arsenal fans were fighting in the stands according to reports. That’s why this man has to go. He has divided the fan base. He needs to step down. Enough is enough.

  57. goonster says:

West ham wino at Stamford bridge too. Then you wonder how we lost to that chav team home and away.

  58. Wath says:

Well credit where it’s due we actually turned up for a change put in a shift and look what happens.
Scott think your tv must be down under or you on your head drinking beers and can’t see, if that wasn’t a penalty I am a yid… Alexis is fouled tried to play on then goes down thats the only thing he guilty of is going down late but thats cos think he was trying to play the ball, if you seen it three times and not seen him ankle kicked then what are you watching… jackanory…? 😀

See the difference in the side when we play with pace and then how slow we are when Giroud is brought on….

JM, you’ll be pleased to know I think thats the first win with Gabriel playing…. He was also very very good by the way.

Oh well least our 4th place trophy is still in our grasp.

  59. ScottfromOz says:

Wath, i can not remember saying no contact was made.
Do not tell me he didnt dive though.
    Thats ridiculous..
Contact WAS made, as i said, but falling down two strides later is a dive.

  60. Lee says:

We need to replicate this eight more times and you never know?!?!

No Walcott, Ramsey, Mertsacker and Giroud we look a different team!

Well done Wenger and the boys!

  61. ScottfromOz says:

Its hilarious how after the Soton game, where we were manhandled, everyone said our boys should toughen up.
Today, everyone suggests a dive by our boy is a penalty.
Funny how the result of the game changes people’s line of thinking.
If we lost today, you’d wll be saying Alexis shouldve stayed upright and chased the ball.

  62. goonster says:

But Lee is right scott. We re a better team without all 3. Am a huge fan of aoc but even he won’t play the way iwobi played today. Our one touch was purring today. Elneny iwobi and Sanchez all had an understanding on what to do when the other had the ball. You could tell ozil enjoyed himself. Ramsey kills our game singlehandedly.

  63. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, you’ve said for 18 months Alexis kills our game.
Yes, i actually am laughing out loud.
    Night all.
Its almost as hard to put up with the crap when we win as it is when we lose.
    Fickle fans…..Gooners……..

  64. goonster says:

I still said that last week. Am not going back on that. Alexis is a one man machine. He thrives when he’s the center of everything that happens. He’s build up play is shite. If you can’t see that then I don’t know what to say to you. He’s a highly talented player but his link up play is shite. I ll never go back on that but play a pacy forward next to him and you ll see a different beast. The same reason Barca sold him to us. His combination play is nothing to write home about.

  65. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, Benfica his in the top of league and will be the champions.
No, the problem wtih Ramsey is that “dazzles” to attack and leave everything behind unbalanced.
Mets is positioned better than Gabriel (one won with him in the line up !) but is “slow” kidney … the age is a big problem …
Welbbeck and Giroud are diferente players
TW lost is speed and never will be a central forward. He only can play like a winger

  66. goonster says:

He’s a counter attacking specimen. Him ozil and elneny on the same pitch and a new arsenal ll be reborned. Go back to Ramsey and we ll continues our tiki taka crabby side to side footie.

  67. goonster says:

Ramsey needs 3 touches to get the ball to the front…elneny needs one. Do the math scotty Oz 😀

  68. goonster says:

Thanks JM 😀 you hear that Scott 😀 Rambo you kills our play especially through the middle. Still don’t know why you re pissed. We won mate 😀

  69. Adam says:

If Howard Webb says it’s a penalty for Arsenal after watching it a dozen times then I think it is. Surely Alexis’ foot was hooked from behind when he was past the Everton player. He stumbled as a result at the late contact, which was evident and then took a swipe from another Everton player. Clear penalty for me.
Hi Wath. I agree about Gabriel. After a shaky start he handled Lukaku very well. I thought out CBs were excellent today. In fact the whole back 5 were good and Elneny’s energy and willingness puts people like Walcott to shame.
Clattenberg missed so much though. How about the trip on Giroud as he was heading into the box and the two hands to the face incidents. Really crappy refereeing.

  70. Wath says:

Sorry Scott but not a dive in a million years he just goes down late after the initial foul…!

Evening Adam, yep Gabby did well, he looked quite assured after a month of looking like bambi in the headlights..!

The effort from ElNeny Iwobi Welbeck and Coq was excellent, highlights how little Walnut does…!

  71. rico says:

    Afternoon guys..

I’m still smiling after that performance.

Wath, totally agree how things changed with the subs, shows what a bit of pace up front does, pace and ability in case anyone was thinking I meant Walcott… Lol

Best game in a while for Gabriel, especially up against Lukaku.. Elneny and Coquelin work very well together imo and as has been said before, Elnenys energy level is darn good…

  72. Adam says:

Hi Rico. I was wondering just what Everton had to do to get a card. I saw 2 toe stamps by Coleman, a couple of hands straight in the face, trips etc. Not to mention the penalty.
Another day, Clattenberg’s poor performance would have cost us.
But, anyway, looking at Walcott sitting in the bench after 10 years at the club, with Iwobi being preferred and Giroud’s complete lethargy when he came on, perhaps the required changing of the guard has become clear to Arsene.

  73. rico says:

Hi Adam. Agree, thought Coleman was very fortunate. Having tried to provoke a disinterested Coquelin, his attitude continued and then the one on Monreal was not very good.

Who was it who elbowed/forearm smashed one of ours straight in the face?

  74. Adam says:

I believe it might have been Funes Mori?
As far as Elneny is concerned, yes, but only because the first few games I saw him play he was totally peripheral to the action and seemed terrified of making a mistake. I get that though.
He looks to me like a player who might thrive on the responsibility and now he is in the midfield with Coquelin he can bring his enormous energy to his game. You’d have to say that, at this moment, that looks our best midfield. They looked solid at Spurs too.

  75. rico says:

I’m not into ‘I told you’ kind of stuff but honestly, I’ve so wanted those two to pair up in midfield because Elneny keeps it so simple. He’s the recycler we’ve needed for a long time, Coq is the muscle… Lol

Agree re the Spurs game too..

Nasty stuff from Mori wasn’t it? But as you’ve said, he wasn’t alone. They may not have Fellani but the tictacs are the same…

  76. potter says:

They got frustrated by our play . we were too quick for them and they went for the dark arts. How they didn’t get a few cards is a mystery. Perhaps Moshiri invested in Clattenburg.

  77. Marshall says:

Where have these lads been hiding? Finally they turned up! Pace all over, nice team selection from AW and Iwobi been having a good week! Such good gameplays are the reason am a fan.-oh yeah am one.

  78. Marshall says:

Think AW realised Per couldn’t cope with Lukaku and barkley, and glad he finally found a spot on the bench for Giroud.

Again am glad Ramsey isn’t available for selection cause he wouldn’t have offered half of Elneny’s movements or a MOTM display like Iwobi. Onwards and upwards.

  79. Marshall says:

Can’t wait for that little two footed spanish bastard (good bastard 🙂 ) Santi to get back.

LCFC aren’t dropping points anytime soon. I’ll celebrate every win we get.

  80. goonster says:

Watching the game all over again. Wow Sanchez was instrumental to every good move we had and it’s all because we played with pace upfront. Once OG came in he(Sanchez )reverted back to form. My conclusion is play Danny upfront henceforth. Bring in giroud with 3 minutes to go. While those 5 (Sanchez ozil Danny iwobi and elneny )played together we were purring so stick with a winning formula that best suits the personel we have. I am a big aoc fan but right now I struggle to see how he ll break into the team with iwobi growing with each game. Sanchez was immense today. Wow what a game.

  81. goonster says:

That ll be harder to achieve IMHO. Kroenke is here for the long haul Potter. Plus he’s not even in London for the protest to have any effect on him.

  82. goonster says:

Somebody should have a word with iwobi. Wearing his socks so low is asking for trouble. Pull your socks up son.

  83. potter says:

True but the worm may well be turning and pre season we are playing in the states, the protest has to be taken there.

  84. goonster says:

Potter our American fans are shite to be honest. The most fanatical wengerites are americans. Trust me I know a few. I was close to punching one of them out in the last game. What a bunch of cnuts.

  85. goonster says:

Rico 😀 I only read the first few paragraphs but I can tell where they are headed. Tony Atwood really needs to get his head out of arsene’s ass. My word I mean this is what you call blind faith.

  86. Marshall says:

Yes Rico, am excited. These wins/moments have become far and scarce, enjoying every bit.
I hope there’ll be bigger banners in the summer. I intend to watch the guys during the pre season. I’ll take banner suggestions 🙂

See what happens when we don’t carry passangers?

  87. Marshall says:

Lol goonster especially those. They have first class tickets for the ‘gravy train’ which cost us dear.

  88. goonster says:

Especially ramsey. He hurt us each time he plays. Hogs the ball too long and gets harried off it. Misplaced passes all over the pitch and a stupid streak of hitting the ball when a simple pass should have been the best option. Hope elneny keeps him out permanently.

  89. Marshall says:

For a guy whose main attribute is ‘holding the ball’ OG looses an awful lots of possession. Plus he’s slow.

  90. obi says:

Goonster not all American fans are… I know many that can’t stand Wenger. I supported him till this year. Some of my Arsenal buddies here in NYC r not even watching games any more cus they blame Arsene n not Stan for the mess.

  91. goonster says:

Well obi we live on different parts of america. Am from the south and trust me the most cnutish wengerites are around me. Plus I ve been to new York a few times and the fans I came across are mainly AKBs. Sorry obi.

  92. Marshall says:

Goonster are barcelona still interested? We’ll never get a better time to cash in. Ramsey is a pain to watch, it’s like chewing glass.

What’s worse about his situation is even him he knows he’ll get game time no matter how shit he is. Pointed it out long time ago.

  93. goonster says:

Barcelona ll be better off with denilson than Ramsey. He believes his own hype too much. Hey but if Barca are so stupid to part ways with 50m for him then I ll gladly drive him to catalonia 😀 myself.

  94. obi says:

That’s interesting Goonster. Cus I played in a rec league in Central Park with people from all n most were Arsenal fans n the overwhelming view was since you can’t fire the owner, fire the manager.

  95. Marshall says:

Obi see the problem? They are not blaming Stan. Look at stan’s sports entities over here and you can see he has no ambition. Did you read/see his interview on what he said about championships and brands? Stan is a huge problem.

  96. goonster says:

No rico I ll rather have sergi samper. He oozes class for one so young plus he’s mates with bellerin and toral. Not biscuit please…anyone but biscuit. Lol

  97. Marshall says:

£20M & Busquets? Let’s not even deliberate on that one.

Goonster I’ll pay for gas. We can even use Flamini’s bio fuel.

  98. goonster says:

Marsh like I said it ll be harder to push kroenke out. He’s making 4 million pounds annual from us without breaking sweat. He won’t leave guys. Not on this side of judgements day. His son is on the board isn’t he??? No chance.

  99. obi says:

Goonster I agree with u on Ramsey I will help you drive him….even for 20m… he has zero ball intelligence n no idea about space other than getting in the box….

  100. goonster says:

Rico samper is like fabregas and santi in one player. He’s technically sound and strong on the ball. Plus can pick a pass and comfortable with both feet even though his favorite foot is his left one. A straight swap with Ramsey ll make my year 😀

  101. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, ok…..you can criticise Ramsey without apologising to me.
The guys been in poor form and ive said so, but naming me every time you criticise him is pointless and achieves what, exactly?
Adam, Webb showed how good he is for years lol.
The penalty should probably have been given for the initial contact, ill concede that, BUT, Alexis took a massive dive and thats a fact.
Ive said all along contact was made, but two full strides before falling down makes it a dive.
If he’d gone down originally, he probably gets the penalty, but now, he just looks silly.
If a player from another Club did it, you’d all be screaming, and rightly so.
Anyway, job done, and it was a superb performance.

  102. goonster says:

Howdy scott 😀 alright my bad. I ll stop that. How’s Sean doing??? And his little league footie game??

  103. ScottfromOz says:

I watched the game with some mates, including an Everton guy.
Pre game discussion was focused on Lukaku and how wed handle him.
I said we would handle him easily, as we always have.
For whatever reason, he rarely troubles us.
    Strange, as hes so talented.

  104. rico says:

I’m surprised you thought we’d cope with Lukaku so easily after recent defensive displays… We did though which was very positive…

  105. goonster says:

Yes rico from time to time Luis Enrique brings him into the team plus he plays the odd copa del rey game. He’s really a super player. I ll give anything to have him. Even Sanchez 😀

  106. rico says:

    I wouldn’t swap Alexis for anyone goonie….

If he’s that good, Barca won’t let him go surely… Didn’t we have a chance to sign him last summer? He’ll be another on the ‘I nearly signed him’ list for Arsene…

  107. goonster says:

We were never in for him rico. It’s all paper talk. If we bid big for him we ll probably get him and I think he ll jump at the chance to play with his best bud again.

  108. goonster says:

Am serious rico. We were never in for him. We only signed petr cech remember? Arsene signed the best signing he ever had in his career. He signed COHESION 😀

  109. rico says:

    You missed my irony goonie.

That’s true Scott but he’s been on good form this season. I think we just snuffed out his supply today really well and that was a huge positive.. I saw his ‘touch’ stats earlier and I think it was just over 20…

  110. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, little fellas going really well, and is turning into a handsome little fella so keep your girl away 🙂
Seems his coach ia turning him into a CB of late and hes loving it.
The coach, himself was a blooy good CB in your part of the world and sees something in Sean at that spot.
Patrick Zwaanzwyk or something bloody close to that spelling is his name.
Finished his career in Oz and stayed here.
I am sure he went through the Ajax academy but donr know how his career progressed after that, but when he came here, he was 33 or so and all class.

  111. rico says:

Guys. It’s the international break now so if anyone has a something they want to write about, please do and email me. Oh, and I won’t be putting up a new post every day, there’s little point unless there’s some news…

  112. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, i assure you im not criticising Lukaku one bit…hes a top class striker and we could do a lot worse than have him at our club.
As i said, i really don’t know why but we always defend well against him which is bloody strange, to say the least.

  113. goonster says:

Nah scott…Sean should play upfront. That’s where the big bucks are. Plus aussies don’t really produce good defenders do ya 😀 a few works beaters in kewell and viduka and that’s just about it. But defenders??? Naaaaaaah 😀

  114. ScottfromOz says:

Hes no glory hunter though, Stan lol
Regardless of what level he achieves, he will be a hell of a hard working little bugger.
    He just lives for foorball.

  115. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, i think Giroud has found his level now.
Hes a very good player and has definitely improved in his time with us, but wont ever be a WC striker, and thats what we need.
Still, hes been good value so we either keep him as back up, or sell him for a decent return.
    Night guys…..

  116. Micko says:

Scott, you’d never catch me talking crap, if you can laugh at yourself you’ll always be entertained.

Stan 9.50, why over complicate things, Basel to London City Airport journey time approximately 1 hour 45 minutes max, that’s all you gotta know.

rico, loved the Un-Told link, these lonely bannerians need to be tracked down and terminated for the good of Arsenal, nothing more nothing less.

Wath 3.43, rico once told me you had a big nose, maybe you ought to check out your family tree.

Scott, don’t think I didn’t notice the big u-turn on the penalty decision 3.33 to 8.31, if only we had the benefit of action replays over here lol.

  117. scottfromoz says:

Micko, I was fired up at the time and that no penalty comment was a silly one, made in the heat of the moment as I was livid at the dive, and people saying it wasn’t a dive.
There is absolutely no doubt it was a dive, but yes, the initial contact warranted action.
I can not stand diving, and Alexis did it…it made me sick to watch.
    What a performance though!
From the boys, I mean, not the triple twist with a pike 🙂

  118. Nashua Gunner says:

Scott. Agree with your observation, it was a dive. If he’d gone down on the initial contact on his foot, there would have been no doubt, but pen. But he took two steps after the initial contact before going down. I still wouldn’t mind the pen though. It has been done to us many times over.

  119. Micko says:

Scott, your like Popeye on spinach come match days lol

Iwobi, man of the match mid-week for me, another great performance today, the world is his oyster !
Bellerin will have to settle for the silver this time around, top class today as well.

January 2nd, top of the league, 2 points clear, fast forward to March 19th and we’re 11 points behind Leciester, where did it all go wrong !!! Time for my bunk, nite Gooners.

  120. scottfromoz says:

    NG, us, get a penalty?
    You’re dreaming 🙂
We’d all throw a party if it happened lol.
Micko, Iwobi is looking very sharp, and his work rate added to his obvious talent make a very, very promising package.
Bellerin seems to have found his best form again, after a run of just OK form.
Oh, and I hate spinach, but I hate diving more 🙂
I wonder if Wenger did speak to him afterwards.

  121. Marshall says:

Rico i meant I liked that idea. It was a no brainer. Sad there’ll be fewer posts but I bet every now and then an arsenal player will be on the press talking something stupid. I hope Aw will have time to seriously consider the future.

Goonster unfortunately it’s true. Stan can’t leave. He chose a soft club to invest in. Amazing how they lock Usmanov out of the board.

    Goodnight, morning wherever you are.

  122. rico says:

    Morning Marshall and all.

Phew Marshall… 😉 I thought for one minute.. I’ll try and find something to write, honest but just tempted to have the odd day off from being negative… lol

Agree re Usmanov, 30% shares and they don’t let him in. Kroenke is nuts!

    Micko you old hoot… 😉

  123. scottfromoz says:

Someone said it the other day…..Utd built their brand on the back of onfield success, in response to Stans foments about that club.
Surely someone can show Stan the value in winning trophies.

  124. Marshall says:

Rico, I think Stan and the board are afraid Usmanov might reveal were are paying KSE £3m for nothing. Plus he might be asking the right questions. They don’t want that.

  125. rico says:

Marshall, I don’t think the £3m would be such a big deal if a lot more money was invested in the squad, and of course money paid to many like Tomas, Flamini etc wasn’t wasted..

I still wish those who sold their shares had sold to Usmanov instead of the American…

  126. Marshall says:

Rico it’s not just about the payment. I believe Usmanov would be asking questions and trying to make adjustments. Which is why they are keeping him out.
