No Giroud, Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott or Gervinho.. Another huge game in the race for 3rd…

Morning all,

So the PFA shortlist is out and yet none of our players are on that list. Shocked and horrified??

Of course not, nor am I but equally, I am surprised at by those who are, that being Michael Carrick, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez, Robin Van Persie, Eden Hazard & Juan Mata.

Funny that eh!

What about the players down the other end of the league table, I’m sure clubs like Southampton, Swansea and West Brom to mention just a few, all believe that one or two of their players have been outstanding for their clubs. Some of who may just have played a huge part in saving their club from relegation but yet again, mid-table/lower table club players have been ignored.

I think that is wrong on so many accounts.

So, today….

Back then, Wenger had the edge over Jol....
Back then, Wenger had the edge over Jol….

Wenger V’s Martin Jol….

Here are the statistics courtesy of BBC

Head-to-head

  • Fulham are unbeaten against Arsenal in their past four meetings. Arsenal’s last win was 2-1 at home in December 2010.
  • The Gunners last triumphed at Craven Cottage in September 2009, Robin van Persie scoring the only goal.
  • Arsenal have won 15 of the 23 Premier League meetings between the two clubs. Fulham have only won three of them.

Fulham

  • Fulham have only taken one point from their last three matches, having been unbeaten in the previous five.
  • The Cottagers have picked up 11 points from London derbies this season. They have only fared better in 2002-2003 (13 points).
  • They have benefited from five own goals this season, a league-high with Manchester United.
  • Dimitar Berbatov has scored five goals in the club’s last seven matches. Ten of his 13 goals this season have been scored in the first half.

Arsenal

  • Arsene Wenger’s side have won seven of their last nine league games (W7, D1, L1).
  • The Gunners have scored 18 goals in the final 15 minutes of games this season, by far the most in the top-flight.
  • Ten of Olivier Giroud’s 11 Premier League goals this season have come at the Emirates.
  • Mikel Arteta has scored five successive penalties in the Premier League since missing a last minute spot-kick against Fulham in November.

Fulham should be safe in tenth place but with only 40 points, they won’t want to drop any more, especially at home and even more so after their midweek defeat in front of their own fans. They will be up for this game.

As must we be, we need all the points from today and the only way to get them is turn up in the right frame of mind, fight hard from start to finish and when/if the opportunity arises, take our chances.

Any thing less than 100% and a chance of a 3rd place finish will be fading fast and 4th could even still be a struggle.

It’s up to Wenger and the players to make sure we come away from Fulham victorious….

Have a good day all…..

Your guess is as good as mine Rico……….. Do we ever know… Do they..? Certainly not going to be an easy game there and they will be well up for it after getting stuffed by the Chavs on Wednesday.

  2. allezkev says:

Wtf, where on the PFA list is Squillaci???

    Adam, will be grief stricken….

    Be strong buddy….

    Morning Rico/Wath

  3. rico says:

    My thoughts too Wath….

Morning Kev, 😆 Re Squilli, I did have him on the heading but thought it was a step too far…

  4. allezkev says:

Hate to be negative, but I have a bad feeling about today’s game…

Could be in for another draw and two more dropped points.

  5. rico says:

BBQ is getting a clean today after a winter of being under cover 😉

Sun is out, the day is going to be good 🙂

  6. W.A.T.H says:

    Morning AK,

My thoughts go out to poor Adam he has seen the post and gone off to the Dr’s for anti-depressants…!

  7. tsgh says:

    morning all,

allezkev at 10:11 am, exactly my thought… that man and his team did not even try against the chavs… but I bet he would do his best Abraham Lincoln and Colonel Tim Collins impersonation to try to end his clubs rot…

I liked him as a footballer but as a manager he is a true scum.. shame he was sacked by Levy…

  8. Micko says:

Love to say I’m confident about today but I think we’re gonna be put through the wringer…….again.

  9. W.A.T.H says:

I’m with you SYG, I’ll take a win any win any how we can get it, we always struggle at their gaff..!

  10. tsgh says:

    1-0 it is then…

But another clean sheet? I will go for 1-2 instead to the good guys… still a 3 points….

  11. tsgh says:

Hi Adam… since you just came off the phone with ‘the US president’ can you tell us why all these action movies about the white house being taken over is coming out this year…?

  12. Scott from Oz says:

    Eveing all.
I am heading down to Sydney to watch the game with a room full of Gooners!
Enjoy the game, get your cash on Aaron for his hat trick and i will catch you all later!!
    Go you Gunners!!!

  13. eastsidepaul says:

Football 365 did a bit about regrettable names put on the back of your shit, does anyone here have any?!

I gotta say putting Reyes on the back of my shirt and having him leave a matter of months later.. heartbreaking!

  14. tsgh says:

so is flappyianski really injured? or is it a tactical move to save his career at Arsenal…

After getting raving reviews re. his performance… has he taken the safe option to be injured and preserve his rating so that all the hard work he has done is not forgotten after another of his trademark flappy moments before the end of the season…

Just asking you all know I am twisted already so no harm done…. 😀

  15. southyorkshiregunner says:

Talking of Reyes ESP ….. can you remember his goal in the Fulham 0-1 Arsenal ……. Edwin Van Der Saar gifted him the goal …
………….. Same again today with Cazorla rounding Schwarzer ….

  16. eastsidepaul says:

I do indeed SYG, he was a national treasure, its a pity it didn’t work out!
His career really took a turn for the worst when he left..

  17. tsgh says:

I always blame Luis Aragones and the french revolution at the club at that time… I heard he was not being spoken to by the senior players at that time…

  18. tsgh says:

At least no Frimps… Cech was very good mid week and Scott’sbest friend was mediocre…. I guess there was a TV camera around to entice him…

  19. tsgh says:

Karagounis is a dirty worm… I can see him kicking SC19 today… I would rest him if he is not fit…

  20. southyorkshiregunner says:

    I’m okay Ginge …
.. Running the gym today and flying out to Cyprus in the morning…
First time this year that the shutters on the gym have been lifted ….
Hopefully there’s a good “crack” on here re: the game ….

… 3pts no matter how we get them would be welcomed …..

  21. DutchGooner10 says:

    Afternoon Goonerdom worshippers,

Howdy all. Been missing you guys & gals. Don’t worry I never left HH, in fact I’m more involved then ever. But I’m not allowed to talk about it by the boss lady. 😉

Tough game, physical rumblings if you ask me. Hope next season SYG is being hired to beef up the squad.

  22. tsgh says:

    Only under Aw… the videos… the memories … 😉

But then as I said Henry never scored a goal in a final not even in the MLS…. if he did we would have been the first London team to win the CL in 2006 he could have put us 2-0 up even at 10 vs 11…

  23. tsgh says:

Hi DG… long time… yes it going to be a ruggish thuggish match this afternoon… hopeful Sc19 will enjoy the sunshine and give us another of his world class performances similar to his during Malaga vs Ath Bilbao… last year…

  24. eastsidepaul says:

That would be a bad one alright kev! Someone suggested that Julian Dicks would have been a tough sale too!

  25. DutchGooner10 says:

    Sorry Ginge,

Had incoming mail to reply. Yes, Santi should gain a few inches from basking in the spring sun. He won’t stretch like our BFG but a decider toe-poke surely on the cards.

  26. southyorkshiregunner says:

Hiya Ginge … sorry I didn’t get back on that … I’m talking to one of my Asian buddies …. “What incident is that?”

  27. DutchGooner10 says:

    ESP

How about ‘Park’ on the back. Many will just think you’re too pissed after the match to remember which lot you slotted in your holy cow.

  28. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Ha ha. Nice one Ginge…

No that was one of the lads that opens up for me (check website : Jammy) …
…I say lad … he’s 43. He has a current confiscation order on him for over £100,000 …. He had been pulled outside Tesco’s in Scunthorpe by Humberside Plod and had over £300 in cash on him (By law you can only carry up to £190 in cash without a valid reason) … They searched his house and found over £1000 in cash plus keys … one of which was the keys to gym ……

Next thing my lad was phoning me to tell me CID were searching the place ..

We have shutters on gym because outside the place is a shithole with smackheads wandering about etc …. I post you a pic ..

  29. eastsidepaul says:

Arsenal: Arsenal team: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Giroud #FFCvAFC

  30. southyorkshiregunner says:

Rico’s currently assessing my post Ginge… Lol..

Nothing happened. We are as clean as a whistle

  31. southyorkshiregunner says:

We’ll do them 1-0 with that side …. Schwarzer will run out to clear and miskick his shot and Cazorla will round him and roll it into the empty net ..

  32. adam says:

Yes Rico. The fizzy stuff, as you put it. It goes to my head where it lingers like a haunting refrain. 🙂

  33. southyorkshiregunner says:

Not really ESP. We have the basic cardio, rower, bikes and crossers ….. We are geared more to heavy gym, boxing and martial arts etc… We are like a big family … all great lads ….

  34. eastsidepaul says:

Awesome, I use to box, i’m training Taekwondo and brazilian jiujitsu at the moment! More so Taekwondo. would also love to give muay thai a go at some point!

  35. ozgunner10 says:

yeah great news – mobility plus – we’ll should get right at em’ tonight and they ain’t in the finest of form either – should win this one Rico

  36. southyorkshiregunner says:

Jiujitsu is fantastic. You have to be really fit for that.
My son–in-law is an ex pro-boxer and he mocks the jiujitsu … I told him, if the jiujitsu guy doesn’t get taken out first punch the boxer is done for ….
… I wish I had the constitution for it .. Keep it up Paul

  37. rico says:

Don’t know why you went into moderation Syg..

I do rather like it though Adam, I still have a bottle left over from my birthday back in Jan. Maybe if we get 4th, or even 3rd, it might be worth opening in celebration…

  38. southyorkshiregunner says:

The team looks good …….. Roll on …..

Hopefully Rico will inspire us today ……….

  39. tsgh says:

Esp and SYG… did you see Arshavin’s comedy fight a few days ago… A friend of mine called me to analyse his move again and thought the man is so laid back because he is a systema expert….

  40. Micko says:

Snuff out Berba, he’s their only threat and the afternoon will be a lot more comfortable.
    C’mon Arsenal.

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

Hope the sound is fixed before kick off. My end is mute on the live stream. Only heard a lad chat in his living room for a brief flash.

  42. tsgh says:

good line up that… Rosicky plays well against the cottagers most times…

Its funny how sky tried to show that Stoke and Poo-lis play a 3-4-3 formation…. I nearly fell off my sofa… I thought the man played 5-4-1 especially against us…

  43. allezkev says:

Lentils and Cava, can it get any better than that???

Throw in a veggie curry and it’s ‘party time’…. 😛

Like the look of that team. Rosicky gives me optimism.

  44. DutchGooner10 says:

    Micko how are ya mate?

Here goes……… C’mon Arsenal. Treat it like a cup final. Winner takes all!!!

  45. rico says:

Ts – I thought it was a 5-5-0 – with one of the middle five running for their lives onto the hoofed ball ….

  46. rico says:

Hope he’s on an off day Micko…

Wonder how Howard Webb will enjoy refereeing Colchester today 🙂

  47. tsgh says:

could have been a leg breaker…

90% possesion what are we going to do with it…

playing against 10 men is hard…

  48. DutchGooner10 says:

Manolev is the weak spot in Fullham. His spell at PSV Eindhoven was disastrous, got ridiculed by their own fans virtually every game.

Think Poldi would make him look like a Santos.

Red is my favorite colour. LOL

  49. Micko says:

Nice to see the Arsenal old boys doing their bit for the cause, just need Senderos to nod one past Schwarzer now.
Surely we can’t fook this one up against 10 men.

  50. southyorkshiregunner says:

They’ll run out of steam in a bit … Hopefully we’ll pick them off ….

I got ex-Man Utd players brother in gym at moment armed with half a bottle of vodka ….

  51. rico says:

    🙂 Micko..

Isn’t this about the kind of time Wenger says he often switches off the television when watching football played in other leagues…

    Know how he feels.!!

  52. rico says:

I think so too Ak 😉

But he still doesn’t succeed in either department Ts, no point in being ‘nearly there’ – as that doesn’t win matches…

Might as well hit the corner flag as go close, the result is the same…

They’ll run out of steam in a bit … Hopefully we’ll pick them off ….

    Doesn’t that sum today’s Arsenal up……

  54. tsgh says:

    Differing opinions I guess…

At least Akpom or Serge would help Sagna out if he was playing on the rhs… and beat his first marker…

Ox should replace him any way…

  55. rico says:

Ah, that’s different Ts, I agree re Ox…

Sideways, no pace, no width, no passion, no purpose….

    No idea right now…..

Oh well, maybe AW will sort it all out at H/t and we’ll come out a totally different side…. (cough)

  56. tsgh says:

    eastsidepaul says:

This side to side football…. it just devastates teams..

It does if it is done at pace to move opponents about to make them exhausted… if it is done at snail pace then it becomes useless… like Arsenal and watching Spain…

  57. tsgh says:

    Not too bad but frustrating…

Next season we need to stop playing like a national team in a tournament and play like a club…

Hangeland could not organise the backline… I thought the media and pundits said he was better than most of our defenders…

  58. Xr!s says:

i’m really not impressed with Arsenal play. They are too slow and not pressing the 10 ten. A good delivery from Walcott though,I thank God Mertesacker followed the knock-down from Koscienly. Fulham are really playing well but are too rough

  59. Scott from Oz says:

A 90 minute drive to watch that???
    Speed.
    Pace.
    Hurry up.
Theo, do not stand there waiting for the ball, you should be running on to it.
Arteta we are running that way(I am pointing)!!!!!
Sagna, give it up mate, you can’t cross.
    Thank goodness for Aaron 🙂
Kidding, we were average for the first 45.
Big improvement needed as we need to put them away.

  60. Joaquim moreira says:

    brrrrr….
against 10 men since the 12th minutes… we shot 8 times in the first half !!!!
What’s TW were doing in the middle? Put it like a rigth wing! Open fulham defence! Give more free space for Cazorla and rosicky and open space for shotting inside and outsider área. They are strong in aerial fottball but whitout a man, th

  61. Joaquim moreira says:

For the moment, the mean problrm is this: we play versus 10 like we play versus 10. From the bench, AW must coordinate the positions.

  62. rico says:

    Scott, we were awful!

Nice jogging AW, you have just given the press something else to mock no doubt….

  63. herbert chapman 2 says:

S o MC is the pfa player of theyear. The n don’ t be surprised the red faced will be manager of the year and Mu team of of the tear. The FA may as well make MU sweep all the honours every season..So Arsenal are the 4th richest in the world without winning any trophy the last 8 years.
Just imaginee if the gunners win trophy yaer after year. For that to happen, the gunners need a new manager ifthe fm can’t get cl status. If you look at the goals sored by other teams,Arsenal or Arsene want to walk or dance into the net. They don’t shoot and if they lose ,it’s all due to the fm’s one hundred pass before shooting.

  64. tsgh says:

I love it when commentators say the fans only had to travel a few stops on the train…. like all fans live in highbury and Islington…

  65. DutchGooner10 says:

See what I mean. Even at 6-0 down Jol likes to inspire his players for a theoretical come-back.

3 points NOT in the bag by a long shot.

  66. rico says:

If we had the passion and commitment that the Fulham players have, we’d be a much much better side than we are….

  67. allezkev says:

Three points is all that counts…

    The performance is secondary…

    Then again, I’m not watching it… 😛

  68. allezkev says:

Actually I was a bit surprised that Wenger didn’t start AOC in place of Walcott, who was fairly ordinary against Everton…

  69. rico says:

Join the rest of us Micko.

Our final ball in attempt to get behind their defence is shocking…

Ordinary Ak, Walcott was awful, he’s equally as bad today, the only good thing he has done is the free kick for the goal…

  70. tsgh says:

where is the passion from SB… even the 64 y.o Rice had more passion on the touch lines…

Oh… he is not allowed to train the team 😉

  71. DutchGooner10 says:

Kev giving 2 free kicks just outside the box within 90 seconds doesn’t make comfortable Gooners.

  72. rico says:

Who was it that suggested they would tire?

They have more in their legs than our lot…

    We are dreadful.

  73. allezkev says:

    Hiya Dutch…

We just gotta keep it tight and hang on, eventually Fulham will open up a bit to try for an equaliser, and their legs will start to go…

    I’d like to see Oxlade-Chamberlain on…
He will just run at them and force them into commiting fouls…
Maybe a penalty would be nice…

  74. DutchGooner10 says:

    Kev

Watch the highlights tonight. It will sweat your palms even though you know how it ends.

  75. southyorkshiregunner says:

    3pts is 3pts.

We could have played like demons and still have lost 2-0….

I would have taken 1-0 at the start. We have the result and the points

    Enjoy the Tottenham game.

  76. rico says:

Dg, trust me, I won’t write much more than that…..

They couldn’t be arsed, well neither can I!

  77. tsgh says:

we need to watch the goal difference though… it could come down to that as the chavs beat us home and away this season

  78. Adam says:

I don’t think that big French plonker will be much of a loss myself, but then I have never rated him.

  79. DutchGooner10 says:

Crouchy with a simple tap-in, showed at halftime. Sunderland just didn’t complicate things around the final 3rd.

  80. agirlagunner says:

Boo, rico! Hello all!! I shouldn’t complain, but mygod!! No heart, no fight, no enterprise.

  81. tsgh says:

No Rico… but that logic does not apply to professional football…

Especially since Moyes is better than AW allegedly…

  82. Adam says:

TS. I have never thought he was Arsenal quality. Ask Rico and especially Kev. I am not saying it because of what he did today, pathetic though it was. For me he is a quiff in glue.

  83. tsgh says:

The grass was long… it suited them… the turf was not watered either… it will slow even Barca or Bayern down…

  84. southyorkshiregunner says:

5pts in front of Tottenham with a superior goal difference of 30 to their 15. They won’t beat Man City. They may draw, but they won’t win….

Chelsea have to play Man Utd at Old Trafford as well as Tottenham …

  85. rico says:

It applies in relation to the defence you offered Ts…

And who ever suggested Moyes is better than Wenger on here??

  86. tsgh says:

You always thought he was a plan b at best… I will give you that.

But what is Arsenal standard though… I am not disagreeing with you… even I agree he should never be the main striker…

  87. tsgh says:

you said ”Sunderland have beaten Everton… We couldn’t!!” you did not say at home… any way makes no difference…

  88. Joaquim moreira says:

    brrrr….
I can’t understand why we are not fight for the 0-2 and gave the opportunity for Fulham draw. However, a team that wasn’t able to had a shot during all the second half, even palyed against them, gave all the opportunities and advantages for the opposite side.

  89. Judge me in May says:

I wouldn’t say they didn’t fight or worked hard…well par Theo..there is just not enough quality
and the manager has lost his mojo long time ago.

  90. ozgunner10 says:

when you think of the days we’d break from halfway and zoom – now its like run 10 yards turn around and pass backwards – it is plain painful watching at times

  91. agirlagunner says:

Well, an unpretty win is better than a beautiful loss… 😉 I should get a grip, I guess….

  92. Judge me in May says:

I didn’t think giroud deserved the red card ..he got the ball imo..
Will be interesting to see if wenger plays podolisky …

  93. tsgh says:

Because we do not have players who break into the opposition half… the ones who do are not clinical enough or are scared to have the ball in goal scoring positions… Yao Gerv

The ones who could are always injured or thinking about their bank balance… Diaby, TR07,Theo

I have said it before… if SC19 turned up against bigger teams or crucial matches we would be better a better side… first season I know but big game players are big game players…. and most are not…

  94. Adam says:

Mind you. Please not Gervinho. He has to play Podolski doesn’t he?
How are we anywhere near the top 4 with those two? Perhaps Wenger is a genius after all. Then again it was Wenger who thought they were Arsenal quality and spent about £25 million on them. That’s a Suarez.
Agag and Rico – help me out here.

  95. rico says:

Judge me, I think you have it pretty much spot on….

But, I still think AW’s mojo might return if he signs 3 top players…

  96. tsgh says:

I thought straight red was 1 match..

Denying obvious goal / goalscoring opportunity= 1 match
Offensive or abusive language / gestures = 2 matches
Violent Conduct / Serious Foul Play (VC/SFP) = 3 matches

  97. Joaquim moreira says:

    3 games?
Like I posted a few weeks ago, the most important game for us will be against MU. Probably it will decide our fixture on the table.
I’m quite sure if I am Arsenal manager, the suporters will have many reasons for smile 😉

  98. ozgunner10 says:

i don’t rate him and never had but i think the red was harsh to be fair – i looked at some Wenger/Chamakh press reports and they are identical to what he is now saying about Giroud – Here is an example “I am very pleased with Chamakh’s first season, he has shown he offers us something different and will be stronger next season” SKY Sports

  99. tsgh says:

    Poldi as lone striker?

No disrespect meant…but has anyone ever seen him play in that role apart from vs Sunderland in Aug?

I will go with Theo against the united…

  100. ozgunner10 says:

tsgh, didn’t i read lately Wenger going on about making Pod a central striker? Here’s his chance, just like Walcott *cough*

  101. Joaquim moreira says:

I write in Portuguese and you translate….
Moreover, Reading will be in championship next year

  102. tsgh says:

I would but most will disagree so…

I thought man u play like that 25 times a season and become champions often enough to be considered one of the best club sides…

if we lose but play well people complain when we win people complain… I am confused now…

    A 1-0 win a clean sheet… against 10 men what do people want?Another invincible…

  103. useroz says:

Poor display with no desire, urgency, pace, runs, will to shoot…

The dirty Manure would crush this poor team and embarrass AFC when celebrating at the Emirates.

Who’s fault was it? Why didn’t Wenger yell at the guys (when he happily yell/ flap at the officials)???

Replay shows Giroud got the ball and didn’t really crush into the guy at all…smight as well appeal with 4 games if FA adds 1 it’s no big deal with Giroud’s form. Could see what stuff Podi makes of as a CF…

  104. tsgh says:

AW said he is working on it with him in training… he has not got the movement unless the 2 on the wings and the one behind him will offer the movement…

    He is very static…

  105. tsgh says:

If the scums lose tomorrow Aw will probably play Prince Poldi upfront… if they win or draw he would not experiment

  106. Adam says:

    We went to Fulham yesterday.
Sidwell, the orange-haired illustrated man and footballing liability got himself sent off early in the first half.
We passed the ball about 10 million times without looking dangerous.
Just before half-time the BFG scored after Kos got himself to a free kick.
In the second half we were awful and then the Gallic-nosed quiff got sent off for what may or may not have been a red card.
We were both terrible and lucky in equal measure.
We got the 3 points which, it says here, is the most important thing.

There you go Rico. How’s that for a post?

  107. ozgunner10 says:

i have to say tsgh, we disagree. I one thing United are not ever, is apathetic and disinterested mate – yes they have off days but United would have buried them

  108. emma says:

A win is a win but that shouldn’t overshadow our performance as we were pretty poor in the 2nd half. Too may sideway passes and Cazorla(jaded) should have being sub instead of Rosicky. If FA decides to upheld Giroud’s appeal, ( as I expect arsenal to appeal the decision) I would rather Gervinho as CF than Podolski/ Walcott. He’s got better movement than them. Only problem is he freezes in front of goal.

  109. tsgh says:

Oz… they will bury us anyway… the way we are playing and at home with Vpursey visiting and the energy at the ground…

I am not suggesting United will be disinterested… I just think Theo will offer more headache and ‘groan-ache’ to Rio that is why I suggested him.. just a strategy…

  110. ozgunner10 says:

says a lot really top 4 club missing one striker and no one knows what we should do and you’re all right unfortunately

  111. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico if my plate wasn’t mounted I would chip in for match report. As I’m due for my at-least-once-a-year-contribution.

  112. emma says:

oz – manure plays worse than that in most matches but grinds out result. Still the media goes about and say ‘That’s what champion does’ 😉
Manure struggled when they went there earlier this year but won by a solitary goal. Their display was also kamikazee but they saw it off

  113. ozgunner10 says:

tsgh, surely we won’t put on a show like that against United? If they are not buzzing for that then the lot of them Wenger included needs a bus ticket

  114. Adam says:

I have just opened a nice chilled Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc so I raise a glass to all at HH. 🙂
After a couple of glasses I will feel better and salivate at the 3 points and our mental strength.

  115. tsgh says:

Emma you may have a point re Gerv… he had his best game against Kompany ie the best defender in the league… Gerv struggles against defenders who don’t think that is why he excels in European matches or against ‘footballing sides’…

  116. ozgunner10 says:

good pressure on the spuds tomorrow to win – City as well come to think of it – come on Suarez boost my fantasy team points dude!! How good would he be with us wow

  117. Adam says:

I also raise a glass to Mrs Lee who is running in tomorrow’s marathon. Mrs Adam also sends her regards as she will no doubt shortly fall asleep in the armchair after 2 glasses. She doesn’t have Rico’s staying power I am afraid. 🙂

  118. rico says:

Dg haha, but no post from you thank you and we know why 😉

    Adam/Oz 😆

Off to get the skewers filled and then a bit of bbg’ing 😉

    Back in a bit….

  119. tsgh says:

Oz- nothing we can do… worrying about strikers… someone gets paid 7m to have sleepless nights over it…

As the urban saying goes… I have 99 problems … that isn’t one of them I am afraid…

  120. Judge me in May says:

    I thought so rico..re giroud..
Its not much as complaining tsgh its more like commenting on the performance. .
and giving our own take on certain players through out the season..
You say on big games santi dosnt turn up.. that to me is an opinion..I say its because them big teams know how to stop him play ..and we get no creativity from any other player… the manager should know that and try to change tactics. .
Manu game is always the biggest game for me and I pray that for once we give them scum a good beating. .

  121. ozgunner10 says:

think how we’d be if they had equalised – so 3 points well received and at least we are not relying on everyone else to stuff up again i suppose

  122. allezkev says:

I had a ticket for today’s game, but I couldn’t go and I had to work instead.
Seems that I have saved myself a lot of dish and a lot of angst.

Tbh, if we finish 3rd or 4th, today’s game will just forgotten.
Every season, even title winning seasons, we have games like today’s.
I didn’t have to see it, to know what it was like as I’ve seen plenty in the past.

You take the points and forget about it…

Losing Giroud will make our run-in interesting?!!!

Podolski or Gervinho thru the middle?
    Walcott possibly???
Against ManUre, hmm, I’d take a draw Gooners if I was offered it now!

    Happy Days… Lata 😀

  123. tsgh says:

    Judge I can’t disagree…

but its sunny in the uk in April… bbq weather, an Arsenal win, sitting in 3rd with a clueless manager in charge … if I was not so boring I would be driving around with my windows down playing my music loud in a car that cost less than the sound system. I will then wait for Adam and Ak at the traffic light to try to race them… 😀

  124. ozgunner10 says:

right then, nearing 1am and another good night on HH comes to a close – have a good one you lot, see ya later!

  125. tsgh says:

before the match even Stan who watches Arsenal 3 times a year… once on t.v, 2 times in the Erms will know Jol and his men will be motivated after the 3-0 lose…

we are in a position where we are a little bit compact and cautious… its better than watching Santos take off…

  126. Adam says:

TS. You can’t miss my Reliant Robin. I gave it a T-cut and fitted the new rear wing today. It really looks a tool now.

  127. DutchGooner10 says:

Ginge classic. Some fancy coloured led lights ducktaped underneath for dramatic tarmac effect as well.

  128. tsgh says:

😀 Adam meet me in Peckham then… you can’t miss my skull and cranium… in a 1989 lada… electric blue…

  129. tsgh says:

😀 Dg… you can join the race we just need to get a WAG to start it for us…

    Adam bring Carol with you…

  130. agirlagunner says:

Sorry, was on the phone! 🙂

Adam, gimme some of that wine. I rate Giroud though. 😳 I think he gets in good positions, doesn’t let his head drop. Hardly a clinical striker though which is what we need.

Good luck to tomorrow, Mrs. Lee. 🙂 🙂

  131. Lewis says:

City and scouse wins tomorrow please!!! Didn’t watch or follow the game today, but by some of the comments here it wasn’t pretty. Much needed 3 points tho!

    COYG’s!!!

  132. tsgh says:

Hi Agag not clinical… and too late to become clinical but he is a big game player… he always turns up at big matches even when he was at Montpellier…

France’s only goal scorer against Spain in 3 or so years…

  133. Adam says:

Agag. I would happily pour you a glass. Mrs Adam is nodding off now. He doesn’t let his head drop so his quiff won’t droop. Quiff droop is a big problem for strikers. Davor Suker found that too.

  134. agirlagunner says:

Thank you, Adam. 🙂 How’s Mrs Adam?

I saw the sun shining down Craven Cottage earlier. The sun does shine in England, after all. 😛 Temps here are 37-38 in the daytime. Sweltering heat.

Hiya, Ginge. It was no fun watching us earlier. We did not make our man advantage count. If anything, our game after that was worse.

  135. Adam says:

She sends her best Agag, despite nodding off in the armchair.
Yes, sunlight has returned to the kingdom at last. 🙂

  136. Adam says:

Off for the evening all. Remember – it’s the 3 points that matter.
Repeat ad nauseum and you might begin to believe it. I do!
    Night all…….

  137. DutchGooner10 says:

    Ginge correct. Devilish match week.

Although I think it ends after the ManU game for me. Saw a wallpaper screenshot of our 8-2 mauling only recently. The scoreboard numbers glowed brightly as if on a Vegas strip club.

Would be a nice fit for our dressing room make over.

  138. DutchGooner10 says:

Boo Agag. Talk next time as you probably gone after I’m finished.

Going for dinner guys and gals. Maybe back lata.

  139. agirlagunner says:

Hi and bye, Dutch!! 🙂 🙂 Catch ya soon.

Adam, do try to enjoy your evening!! The night is young, a couple more bottles, and you’d believe we won convincingly.

  140. devilgunner says:

For tomorrow’s post you can only write one line Rico………….

Did AFC play against Fulham Yesterday? Write your thoughts and comments down below.

    Good Evening Lady and Gentlemen.

  141. rico says:

Evening devil. Another good idea, I certainly won’t be wasting too much time on the post. That performance doesn’t deserve it…

  142. devilgunner says:

TBH I became bored watching the game. But in the end its the three points of the win and the 5 point gap between us and the scum which count.

  143. devilgunner says:

it would have been more positive if Aaron scored.

he worked tirelessly again today. I feel that if he scores (and he is getting himself into great positions lately) he will go up a notch or two.

  144. tsgh says:

Arsene Wenger says he has no complaints about Olivier Giroud’s red card in their 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

  145. rico says:

I thought he was little better than anyone else to be honest Devil. In fact some of his passing was awful.. BUT, he was no worse than most….

  146. devilgunner says:

imo it was a red card since it was a foul. though it was not malicious but a late lunge all the same. I think it will mean just one game. Sidwell’s was different.

AW has no qualms about the red card? then that can only mean one thing……he has been training for the manure game all along with Podolski in mind as a central striker. He puts Giroud against teams like Fulham etc but at the end of the day he had next game in mind.

I have a hunch that it will be Theo on the right, Podolski in the middle with Giroud on the left, while Cazorla will play AM with Aaron and Arteta as DM

  147. devilgunner says:

    whaaaattttttttt?????????

    a meat free BBQ???? 🙁

its like going to Rome and not see the Vatican.

or going to the Netherlands and do not visit the beauty of nature.

Or eating spaghetti bolognaise without a glass of red wine.

  148. devilgunner says:

what is a quorn kebab mate???

it might be something I have tried yet I may know it with a different name

  149. tsgh says:

do you have 4-4-2 in mind for man u?

If I was Aw I would go for Gibbs as a LW next week to stop the better twin…I will then play theo or Gerv on the rhs and play no striker at all…

  150. agirlagunner says:

Boo, devil!! Been a while, sir! Howdy? How’s the little prince?

rico, they’re having fun with your veggie-ness! 😛

  151. devilgunner says:

tsgh…………I am with you regarding Gibbs. but I doubt AW will do it.

Personally I would like to see the OX on the right, with Gibbs on the left and Podolski up top. But I fear that AW will go with the above formation I said earlier.

BArca are still 0-0. Hope that two goals are scored in the second half.

  152. rico says:

I’m off for the night guys. Going to type a few naughty words for the post and then watch a bit of TV…

Stay safe all, have a lovely evening and catch up tomorrow…

Lee – if you are reading, good luck to Mrs Lee tomorrow. Hope you are getting up early to cook the pasta 😉

    Night all….

  153. Scott from Oz says:

We would all have a taken a 1-0 win before kick off.
That’s it, that’s the only positive i can find out of that game.
    It was shit.
I reckon app. 50% of our passes were sideways or backwards.
When you are playing side down a man, why play sideways?
Ox should have been brought on because his pace and ability beat a man would have given us chances galore.
    Very disappointing.
Devil, isn’t it funny how so many all over the net picked out Ramseys performance?
No, he wasn’t great, but can anyone tell me a single player who was?
Maybe our defenders did well, but that is it.
Still, those with little or no imagination roll out he same thing each time, though his performamces of late have left these experts with vey little to offer 🙂
Girouds red….never in a million years.
    What a crap decision.
Theo……well, saw his shirt out there, but that is it.
After he had a great chance late in the game but stuffed up by, like Arteta the previous week, taking an extra touch to get the ball on his right foot,i said to the guys i was watching with that he’d be getting 200k a week if he had a left foot.
Professional footballers whose left leg is their to fill the other trouser leg….incredible.
    3 points, 3 points…keep reminding myself

  154. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Wow! A most exciting finish for 3 points. Rather play like that for 3 points, under the current circumstances, than lose & play beautiful football.

What I am taking out of the clean sheet results lately is that the Steve Bould ethos(or George Graham if you will 🙂 )is finally being successfully implemented for results. If The Club can finish top 4, all goes well for next season including Cup duties, & in particular CL. Now AW needs go out & buy the right ‘quality’ players so to have a serious tilt @ silverware.

    COYRRR

  155. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners…

Quite a crucial day in store for us I reckon…

Man City and Liverpool could do us a big big turn in winning their respective games…

I still haven’t seen any of the game, and bearing in mind yesterday’s comments, it’s just as well…
Today Mrs Lee runs in the London Marathon. Good luck to her.
    But it begs the question.
Why isn’t Mr Lee accompanying her??? 😉
