No Benzema deal.

Why would Arsenal be looking to sign Benzema…. The media seem to have a thing for us signing a few players as a yearly ritual…! We can all name at least five or six who spring to mind.

Giroud is keeping Benzema out of the french side so why would we buy someone who is by that reckoning not as good a player as the pone we already have..?

Is he any different to Giroud, would he give us any better of different options up front. In my mind he is lazy and only performs against the lesser teams in Spain, a bit of a flat track bully. His work rate seems poor and i think that’s the last thing we need.

Forwards have been mentioned a lot lately and I think another striker would only be a bonus but once we have signed the key midfielder that I think we all agree we need.

The Schneiderlin stories won’t vanish and if the Mancs offer the right money Saints will accept but will Morgan choose them or is he really holding out for us. So many player talk the talk but we all know the main thing for them is money talks………. I think there are 3/4 central midfielders who would do a great job for us and Morgan is one of them but he is certainly not the only one.

This week sees the return to pre-season training for most players and I expect the Arsenal backroom staff to be busy with our new signings that we have planned…Wouldn’t that be good…! No rush as yet and we also know Arsene does love a bargain come deadline day.

Have a good day.

    Morning all,

    Good one Wath.

If one believed every transfer story written then he/she would richer than Bill Gates.

  2. Wath says:

The media are there to sell stories Tai it’s just funny how so many people believe so much of whats written. Common sense should prevail but alas………..

I think the business is now about to start and the next few weeks will be interesting.

  3. Tai says:

I don’t believe I’d start Benzema ahead of Giroud in an Arsenal shirt…neither would I keep Welbeck out because of the Real Madrid striker!

  4. Silky says:

Hello all first time caller long time listener…………………
i cant help but wonder, with all of these so called top class strikers being mentioned would charlie austin be worth a punt?
i mean look at his stats with a bad team last year!!!!!
and at £12-15 would he not be worth a try?
he would be “home grown” and has PL experience.

  5. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
Agree why would we buy Benzema.
Like a lot of wenger deals, when a player turns round
and says..I want to join us……If it ain’t cheap wenger will wait.

  6. Wath says:

I think the waiting game Fred shows if Morgan really wants us or just a bigger pay day.

Hi Silky and yep I agree with you I like Charlie Austin and put him in a good team and see him improve… The fella def knows where the goal is but also what about Berahino…

I’m off out anyone stuck in moderation my apologies in advance back later. Have fun and Stan…. behave..!

  7. frednerk says:

    Welbeck could surprise us,
    He has skill,speed,strength,height,stamina
good team ethics, has proved for england
    he can finish with composure.
Lets hope he can now become a player
who believes in belonging to Arsenal.
Danny has been a Manc for all his football life
    so far…….
If he can move on..we could have a top player.

Well done Wath, keeping things chugging along with little to no real news out there but tons of repeated regurgitated stories on NewsNow. If only I could not look!

Agree with Tia and Fred, Welbeck ‘could’ become a great striker if he could maintain his England scoring form week in and week out for us. What a bonus that would be.

  9. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies and Hunkies.

Top one With. Seems that the grey matter between your ears is finely balanced as well.

I would love Berahino or Austin. But would AW?

  10. eduardo says:

oh no, oh no, oh no, say it aint so, Arsenal have sold one of our stars to Liverpool, we are doomed, just seen on Newsnow the following headline

“Liverpool Complete Shock Signing Of Arsenal Star”

so I know you are all keen to know who we have sold to them, Walcott maybe, Gibbs has been mentioned as a target, what about Jack or Ospina, no lads it much worse than that we have only gone and lost Elijah Dixon-Bonner to LFC, how will we ever cope, how will we recover.

Oh by the way I did not actually click on the link but am still 100% certain that the star they mention is Dixon-Bonner, its how these click bait sites work, and its just such a pity so many bite and make it worth their while to continue with silly headlines.

  11. Silky says:

Ya why not Berahino def good enough but would require a larger chunk of change to buy him possibly in excess of £20!
Then that troll of a manager would play hardball with us!
Is he a bit problematic also?

  12. eduardo says:

Berahino could be an interesting signing, lots of potential, and a bit different to the strikers we already have

  13. Joel says:

I would be interested to know who the other 3 or 4 central midfielders are who would suit Arsenal as well as Schneiderlin obviously does!
Presumeably they are available for transfer, would have little to no difficulty in adapting to the Premier League as well as Arsenals style of play.
None of the German’s mentioned in despatches seem to have any desire to leave their respective clubs.Ditto Carvalho.
There is no doubt that Coquelin’s emergence co-incided with a defined improvement in Arsenal’s fortunes and particularly their ability to defend as a team. However it would be a huge risk to rely upon an injury free season as well as the maintenance of consistent form.Arsenal would have to rely upon either Arteta or Flamini in his absence; neither of whom have the ability or agility to come close to doing a similar job.Wilshire has illustrated that he can’t fulfil a similar role either.
There is no doubt that at £25 million Schneiderlin is vastly overpriced but so is Benteke at £32m and who in their right minds would accept that Stirling on current form is worth £50m.The market as a whole is inflated and we’ve benefitted more than most in recent years. In addition considering the millions wasted on the salaries of Bentner, Diaby, Young, Podolski etc over the last few seasons I really can’t see the problem in purchasing a player who would certainly improve both the squad and a potential starting 11.
But then does our exhalted Manager share the same belief and will he ever accept that the money he spends on players doesn’t actually come out of his pockets!!

  14. Ignatius Ndebele says:

Hi All! This transfer window will be a big test to Arsene Wenger’s ability to identify key signings that are capable of taking the team forward. I see Charlie Austin and Berahino are on your minds, but I am not sure they could make a difference to what we already got. As English players, naturally, they are overpriced which makes them unattractive. I also fear that they may chock once they step up to a big club like Francis Jeffers, Andy Carol. It’s just my opinion.

  15. Wavy says:

Well done Wath, enough in the post to get us all nibbling around the edges! Take no noticeGoonster he was over stressed by heat and a delinquent infant! He had to take it out on someone! He’ll get over it.

    Benzema v
Giroud? I’ll tell you what we will get from Bendyman, laziness, bad temper, a few goals, and a poor team player! Whereas with Giroud you probably have the opposite qualities! The point where Benzema may come out on top is, there will be no headlines about his late night training session in hotel bedrooms, oh and the is no quiff!
Stick with Giroud he’s just coming of age!

  16. Wavy says:

    Sorry. Afternoon all.
Sorry about all the typos! Reminder…….re read your post before sending!
    OK got that.

  17. tsgh says:

    Afternoon all..

Well done; very good post and straight to the point…
    considering. 😉

Maybe if we signed Benzema, Rihanna may make it to the Emirates if the rag tops are to be believed. 🙂

  18. goonster says:

When is rico due back? If I read one more drivel from wath I choke myself 😀 Howdy fellas the girls made the whole nation proud last night. Never seen rednecks get so passionate about “soccer” 😀

  19. goonster says:

Hi ts I ll rather sign theo up to a longer contract. Like wath says we need better than OG and am sorry benzema ain’t it. Boy what I ll give for a Christian vieri or angel bastistuta right now. There are very few world beaters our there. The last was snapped up by juve.

  20. tsgh says:

‘rednecks get passionate about football…? lmfao

What are you doing hanging around red-necks, Goonie?
next week you will be telling us you have gotten yourself a firearm license and then eating alligator tail…

  21. allezkev says:

It has been reported that Arsenal have appointed Irish man Barry Solan as the club’s new Strength and Conditioning coach.

  22. allezkev says:

The Mayo native is currently working with the Mayo GAA and is expected to join up with the Gunners when that season is complete.

  23. allezkev says:

If we look at the staff roles on the official website, it looks as if this is a new role, adding to recent additions in this area as Arsene Wenger looks to improve the fitness of his squad. Shad Forsythe was appointed as Head of Performance Enhancement last summer, while last month Huddersfield head physio, James Haycock, replaced Declan Lynch as first team physio.

  24. allezkev says:

Solan has had an interesting career, working with the Polish national team, and with EXOS – the same organisation with whom Shad Forsythe worked before his role with the German national side.

  25. allezkev says:

    And on Sneiderlin;

Speaking at the first day of his side’s pre-season training, Koeman told reporters: “[There’s been] a lot of speculation, but two weeks ago we had a bid of Manchester United, it wasn’t enough, it wasn’t serious, and no more bids till today.

  26. Wath says:

I see the stunning headlines on NN… Arsenal sell star to Liverpool, Bet Kev nearly choked on his rich tea….

  27. allezkev says:

Er, veggie pasta I’ll have you know, if you don’t mind, Master Wath….

NewsNow is becoming more ridiculous by the day…

Every player, whose been linked to us, with no concrete evidence whatsoever that we’ve ever shown any interest, even passing interest, who then goes on to join another club, has, in the tiny minds of theses click bait sites, snubbed Arsenal!!!

    Really?

Even when Arsenal have never even bid for a particular player, they still ‘snub’ us….

Total shite written by no-mark fantasists…

  28. Joe says:

Today Wenger was accused by a poster of wasting millions on players wages they listed the usual names but in the list he included Young.
Now the only Young I know is Ashly Young who is a Manu player now I am pretty sure we did not pay any of Ashly Young’s wages so Wenger can’t take the blame for Ashly Young’s wages.
But then again Wenger has been blamed for many things by lots of posters on this site and others but at least most of them knew the players that belonged to Arsenal.
    Hello all

  29. allezkev says:

The South Korean ‘striker’ who played about 3 games for us before he was moved on…

I actually saw him score his only Arsenal goal in the League Cup…

That ranks up there with John Jensen.

  30. potter says:

South Korea striker Park Chu-Young damaged by Arsenal experience thanks to Arsene Wenger

Probably referring to this one Joe , We always called him Park although locally he was known as Finsbury or Clissold.

  31. Joe says:

Oops I forgot about him as far as i knew he’s name was Park as it’s his family name.
But it still looks like I may owe an apology to the poster.
