'New Signing' returns! This four make your summer a good one??

Firstly, let me remind you of an old boy of ours……

Get in there Ade.....

Anyway, moving away from the game last night, you know the one, the one in which Ade scored two goals against a London side who think they are good. Just for a few moments I was fond of Ade, that soon changed though once he went off. He’s still an arrogant idiot who showed no respect to Arsenal!

And lets not forget, Jose doesn’t know how to play attacking football!

On to us, the best club in London….

Baines, Rodwell, Parker and Cahill…..

All linked to us by one source or another, some by fans hope and others by the red tops, but if they prove to be true, would we be happy come the beginning of the new season?

That’s a left back, two midfielders and a much-needed centre half….

Baines is being lined up to replace Clichy who is on his way to Juventus supposedly.

Rodwell – well apparently we are prepared to offer Spanish teenager Ignasi Miquel to Everton as part of a deal to sign him this summer.

The 18-year-old Miquel has been monitored by a number of clubs in recent months and the Mancs are believed to be keen on signing him.

Scott Parker, well it’s reported that Wenger is to offer £5 Million for him in the summer IF West Ham get relegated. If they play like they did in the second half against Manchester United then they will surely be in the Championship next season.

Cahill, well this one is old news, he is who most would like to see in our defence but I think Wenger has missed his chance. The only way I can see this happening is if Carlos Vela is part of the deal – Coyle wanted him on loan in January so who knows.

Other recent reports suggest Liverpool and AC Milan are interested in buying him so if Wenger is to be serious in this summers transfer window, he needs to be in quick – in fact he needs to sorting his transfer list out now, not sitting on his arse through the summer and leaving any business until the last few days.. The last few days are for bonus signings, not necessities!

All that is missing from the rumours is a striker…..

On the out’s

Eboue is being linked to travel across London and join his old mate Gallas on the traveller’s site.

Nikki B’s father remains adamant that he hasn’t played enough so he’ll be thinking about his options.

And of course there will be the never-ending saga surrounding Cesc Fabregas but we all know they are broke, so b****x to them eh!

Most of us over the last few seasons have said, ‘All we need is three class signing’s – and I for one think that is still pretty much the case.

A hard central defender, a strong central midfielder and a ruthless striker is the minimum needed to give this club a chance of finally getting the ‘haven’t won anything for how every many seasons’ label off our backs.

Add to them the likes of Lansbury, JET and Bartley, the loanees coming back in Wellington and Ryo and you can just start to sniff the air of glory days again, can’t you?

I would love to see us get in a couple of true wingers but in all honesty I cannot see that happening and that’s because of Ryo and Wellington, I just hope they get their Visa’s sorted and they are in and around the squad next season and of there is Botelho, another player getting good reviews while on loan.

Ryo is still young but who cares, he’s getting rave reviews out on loan, if he’s good enough he’s old enough. Play him now Wenger, you bought him, play him – if not, why did you bother??

We all have our favourite targets, the players we think could get us back to being a side worth watching again, a side that will start to show some attitude, commitment and pride in playing for Arsenal..

Forgetting those we want to see the back of now, would those linked give you a bit of a buzz if Wenger signs them, would they honestly make you start to believe again??

I say add a goal scorer and you got a deal Wenger…..

Finally some good news, just as Alex Song looks to be finished for the season with a knee injury, Frimpong made his return last night for the reserves – yep, he’ll be just like a ‘new signing’ for Wenger as the season draws to a close. He was a 65th minute substitute in a 4-2 victory over Sunderland.

Let’s hope he came through unscathed and we see his return for the first team before the end of the season, we may just need him.

That’s it from me, have a good day all…..

  2. Lee says:

Morning Rico, apparentltly: “Carlsberg don’t do Champion’s League games at the Bernabeu but if they did….”

  3. rico says:

Really chuffed for Frimpong, and his return couldn’t come at a better time, reports on Song are that he’s crocked which would open the door for Diaby or Denilson – I hope wenger plays Frimpong instead…

well tot’m were braging bout beating the europian champions…and now that they belong in CL guess what its all a f%%%en dream which coming to a shaky end…inter lost to shalke 5-2 means that inter is not strong enough…that beig said i bet that tot;m will play CL may be after 10 years..did i say 10 i mean 100years…lol.There is one thats is made for this competeion in North londaon and its not TOTneham!!

  5. rico says:

    hi xavel – good result wasn’t it….

  6. Rocastle says:

    Morning all,

Great post Rico, but seriously can we get this season finished first?! Were still in with a shout for christs sake.

  7. rico says:

    Morning Rocastle,

The news is all about who we are linked with, its the same every year and we need something to divert away from the competition going on this week 😉

Tell you what, you send in a post 🙂 😉

  8. Jimi says:

I think this comment was a bit un-necessary because whether Wenger wants to play him or not is irrelevant at this point.

“Ryo is still young but who cares, he’s getting rave reviews out on loan, if he’s good enough he’s old enough. Play him now Wenger, you bought him, play him – if not, why did you bother??”

Wenger cannot play him until he is eligible, so fingers crossed Ryo plays internationally soon so he can get his VISA, He’s certainly trying hard so it’ll be a shame if the Japanese national team don’t recognise the situation and help his progress at club level to help his international progress further down the line.

  9. rico says:

Jimi – my comment is pending him getting his visa srted, then, if he joins us, start playing him…

    I know he can’t play now….

  10. Jimi says:

Ok no worries, I’m not sure its something to whine at Wenger over until then though.

Must admit he’s an exciting prospect and would love to see him play for us.

  11. rico says:

Samir Nasri’s agent has admitted a future move to Italy cannot be ruled out but insists his client is currently happy at Arsenal.

“AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan are all great clubs, but now Samir is really good in Arsenal and I think he will not move from London.”

    Samir Nasri’s agent Alain Migliaccio

  12. WiganGooner says:

We don’t need a change of personnel, we need a change in attitude!

The players should be furious that they didn’t create chances. They should be grabbing each other by the scruff of the neck and be demanding to know why the midfield and attack didnt create any clear chances. We’re supposed to be title challengers, which is laughable in itself.

  13. Jekyll says:

Do you really think Wenger will sign any of those players? A far more likely scenario is a free transfer for this Marseille left back and Aliadiere signed up. He played again for the reserves last night, and scored. Fabregas will be sold after a protracted summer long will he – won’t he and no replacement will be bought. Wenger will then say we are ‘stronger’.

I’m off down Ladbrokes now to put cash on the above.

  14. rico says:

Jekyll, i wouldn’t waste your money, Alialialidiarre won’t be staying with us…

Until there is no chance Will, there is a chance…

Lee – they will have a go at us, it will be end to end and we’ll just nick it 7-6 😉

  15. Will says:

Does anyone think our better players are going through the motions because of the dross they have to play with?

  16. rico says:

WiganGooner, sorry for the delay – i think we need both, just three in, a few out and a whole new attitude…

  17. rico says:

Our better players should be the ones to lead by example, they have all got into a rutt, since we lost the CC we have lost our mojo….

part of an article published today in http://www.europsort.com.
Brazilian teenage striker Neymar has long been expected to make a move to Chelsea, going on record to say that a move to Stamford Bridge would be “a dream”.
But it seems as if he may be having second thoughts: The Sun reports that the 19-year-old is now up for joining Barcelona instead, claiming that he wants to play alongside Lionel Messi: “Lionel and I can be good as a front pair.”
He’s not wrong: Messi is so good that he’d make a good front pair on his own.
Speaking of teenage players at Barcelona, the Mirror reports that yet another up-and-coming Camp Nou starlet could be on his way to Arsenal: 15-year-old defender Xavi Quintilla has apparently caught Arsene Wenger’s eye. The Gunners boss will try to land him as well as Jon Miquel Toral Harper, who is already expected to move to the Emirates.
After Chelsea’s purchase of defender David Luiz from Portuguese club Benfica worked out so well, Liverpool and Manchester United are rumoured to be looking to the Iberian nation to boost their own back fours. Porto centre-back Rolando’s agent has said that two English clubs have enquired about the £20m-rated star, with the Mirror claiming that the Reds and the Red Devils are the sides in question.
Valencia winger Juan Mata has been tipped for a Premier League switch for some time despite recently signing a new contract with the Liga side – and the Express reports that Manchester City are still keen on the Spain international. The paper claims that the star accepted his new deal only after a buy-out clause was inserted.
West Ham are set to launch a £1.5m bid to sign Chelsea’s England U21 midfielder Jack Cork, currently on loan at Burnley (Mirror), Ghana defender John Pantsil is to leave Fulham in the summer (Sun) and Aston Villa veteran Robert Pires is to be offered a new contract at the age of 37 (Express).
And finally, Ian Holloway has said that Blackpool will only sell midfield talisman Charlie Adam for “daft” money. “If Andy Carroll is worth £35m, Charlie will be close to that,” the outspoken manager says in the Mirror.
Adam wouldn’t be worth £35m to another side, but he probably is to Blackpool – considering the financial rewards for staying in the Premier League and that Adam is probably the club’s only chance of sticking around in the top flight.

  19. rico says:

    Hi JM

I read that about Xavi Quintilla this morning, can’t believe we are after another young one from barca..

Also, I think Holloway is right in his view about Adam, why should B’pool be ‘robbed’ of a proper price for his player when Carroll went for so much – mind you, i sthink its all just crazy money….

  20. rico says:

I’d be happy with those four Will, very happy…..

But, I can’t see Wenger spending on a keeper if i’m honest, i think he will stick with Chesney and Fabianski but Buffon would be a great addition.

  21. K-TR7 says:

Sky’s coverage of the spuds game was both atrocious and funny at the same time.Wilkins kept on referring to the spuds as ‘We’…’We need to get Bale in the game’…when we were playing Barça they were licking them and were very happy to see us get knocked out.the likes of Redknapp kept on saying how they deserved a goal for their campaign so far.they had 4 shots to madrid’s 35;they should be glad it wasn’t 6 or 7.

  22. rico says:

    Hi KT

Will, I like the idea but with Fabianski being young still, I just think Wenger will keep faith in him, Buffon is the perfect signing, he’s not too old but old enough not to hinder Chesney…

  23. K-TR7 says:

The spuds can’t even fall back on their victory over inter as schalke who are midtable in the Bundesliga pummelled them at the San siro 5-2.

  24. rico says:

KT, I actually watched some of that game, but only after i saw that Ade had scored and Crouch had seen red, just couldn’t resist it and it was worth ‘losing’ my evening 🙂

  25. Will says:

KT, the worse one is ITV’s Jim Beglin. He might as well start with I hate Arsenal…

Rico, that is my point, Ches is 20 and Buffon is 33. Buffon has been there and done it and can teach Ches th egame from inside out and then, by the time Buffon is done at say 36, Ches will be 23, experienced and have had an amazing teacher.

  26. rico says:

Will, it’s Wenger who needs convincing, not me 😉

I hope the FA add another one match to Rooneys ban today – sure his appeal is frivolous….

  27. K-TR7 says:

Ade really loved us you know.he enjoys scoring against them so much.he ran so much in the first 10 minutes i thought he’d get a heartattack.when ade is on form he is unplayable.

  28. rico says:

Part of me wants to say yes as when he’s up for it, he is just what we need, but the most part of me says no, he dumped on us big time, his attitude when he scored for city didn’t suggest he loved us and he blows hot and cold….

    He won’t change either…

He didn’t love us, he loved his wage and moved for more money…

No for me and i think the part of me that wants to yes is purely down to the fact that we need a goal scorer, but not him…..

Before last night I would have said no and i think nearly every arsenal fan would have said the same….

  29. T-buzz says:

I would take Drogba for a season or two as he’s a solid player, good at free-kicks and far better than Bendtner.

  30. T-buzz says:

They cry about anything WATH, I suppose they should after having their arses and bollocks nicely laid on the floor and trampled on by Real!! 🙂

  31. W.A.T.H says:

34 Will……………. they had a massive one shot on target and 3 in total lol 😉

Oh well we best not laugh I heard today they gonna win 5-0 when they get them back to the swamp next week…!

  32. agirlagunner says:

Just a flying visit. A reason to smile (sorta), at last. 🙂 But it is a sobering thought on our club’s current status that it requires a Spuds loss to cheer us up. 😕

    I see, Lennon’s upset. Good!

  33. rico says:

agag, hi and bye then 😉 be good…

KT, I don’t think so, and thats why he has come out and spoken – he has been ill since sunday but wouldn’t be part of the spuds excuses about how all things went wrong – good on him too…

He’ll be for sale now in the summer 😉 😉

  34. agirlagunner says:

rico, Lennon is exactly a Wenger-type of purchase. Technically good and perpetually crocked. 😀

    Hey, KT. Howdy?

  35. rico says:

KT, if you were him with nerves, would you say what he has just said? I wouldn’t, i be too ashamed….

  36. agirlagunner says:

Night, all! (He is, rico. They have, it pains me to admit, more than a few good ones in that team.) 😉

  37. rico says:

keep that one quiet agag 😉 😉

Nighty nighty to you and to all, i’m off to get dinner and may have to watch the chavs kick the mancs…

BBQ night as its so so warm….

Be good all, enjoy the footie…

  38. Joaquim Moreira says:

it’s weird, Arsenal not playing in midweek …
Mourinho: “If we not win the CL, I would like the Tottenham to be the winner”
    I hope that is Barcelona!!

  39. Joaquim Moreira says:

    from http://www.mercafutbol.com
It is hard to imagine Arsenal without Arsene Wenger on the bench. Alsatian coach takes 14 years working in the team gunner and driving a philosophy based on the attractive football and creating talents. In his factory, have proliferated star cast in a low-cost policy that have been the delight of fans and some even have been sold at high prices.
His press therefore perdudará in the coming years although it remains to know how much time is left to Wenger in the English bench. The Daily Sport, based on statements by the French after the goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers, said his departure could actually rush the next summer.
After the stake, the coach did not want to ensure continuity and confirmed:
At this point I want to finish as best I can this season and then we can talk about the future (…) It is important for this generation to try to win this year and then we’ll talk
    Will Wenger preparing to march?

Wilkins referring the spuds to “we” did it for me….and the classic from JR saying that he knows his dad really well… Tool!!!
