Nasri return on the cards? Hill-Wood hints at signings and RvP exit….

If it’s just a vast salary that Robin is after of course:

He is vital to us and has been an extremely good captain, but if somebody comes along and offers Robin £250,000 a week then I am afraid we cannot compete with that. With players, you never know what they are going to do.

Some players say they want silverware but when they have the chance to earn extraordinary money that has been pumped into the game, then you just have to hope they will stay because they are happy and loyal where they are.

We have already brought in one new player in Lukas Podolski and I believe we will bring in more. I am confident we will, in fact. I just hope that Robin will be with us next season because I genuinely feel we can make a real challenge for the Premier League title.

For once I agree with him in a way, there is no way that our club would or even should pay any player £250K a week, it’s absurd but as most of us have said, our captain doesn’t seem to be that kind of man, what he wants is a few more signings and PHW does actually hint that there will be. Good!

Holland were on the end of a shock 1-0 defeat to Denmark, goodness knows how though, they had so many chances. Shame they didn’t have a decent striker to bury a couple of them. 😉

Afellay wasn’t bad either was he?

Germany huffed and puffed their way to a 1-0 victory over Portugal and it was good to see our new man Podolski in the thick of it, his work rate is incredible in my opinion, talk about, if you lose the ball do everything to get it back, hope a few of our other players were watching! Despite being declared fit, Mertesacker didn’t make the starting eleven.

Hummels anyone?

Titbits:

Malaga’s Salomon Rondon is the player linked today, he’s 22 and is the clubs highest goal scorer last season with eleven goals in forty appearances. I’m sure I have read about him being linked to us before, today though is PHW’s newspaper which has the story.

Manchester City are reported to be open to offers for Samir Nasri, a few newspapers suggest a return to us – what a joke that is! Thankfully, Arsene Wenger seldom offers a player a ‘way back’.

The second is that Harry Redknapp could be out of a job by the end of this month – apparently Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira have a vacancy…

All say ahhhhhhhh….

That’s it for another day, have a good one….

Good read.Wenger last night admitted that we matched Madrid’s offer for Özil but he chose them.also he said Prinz poldi’s negotiations started way back in December.it also got me to thinking that maybe M’vila may be a done deal and will be announced after the Euros similar to nasri in 08.

  2. Lewis says:

Morning all. Let’s hope so ktr7. Would crack up if city dont want na$ri, after all his, ‘I made the correct choice’ bulls**t! Still, I doubt he’d have any trouble finding another club. Won’t be arsenal tho!

  3. rico says:

We missed out there Kt, but little AW could have done if Ozil was determined to join Madrid..

i wouldn’t be surprised if we have already signed M’Vila, all that talk in the news a while back seemed a bit too much for it to be nothing….

Lewis – so would I, especially if the other Mancs or Chavs didn’t want him either, maybe he’ll go to the neighbors to replace Modric 😉

  4. Lewis says:

Poldi is a great signing, have always rated him. As I said last night, he did more tracking back in one game than our wingers did all season.

  5. rico says:

simliar re ronaldo Lewis, just we didn’t offer enough so fergie once said, we were way off 😉

  6. rico says:

My glass must be nearly full today, I reckon we could get Giroud too…

And with JD looking to move on, get another defender and we could be a force to be reckoned with next season..

With all the uncertainty surrounding Redknapps future, I doub’t JV will sign yet, still think he’s worth a go…

  7. Lewis says:

Agreed Adam, redknapp embodies everything that I hate about football so he fits right in down the road.

  8. rico says:

    Morning Adam,

A few of the spurs players have said if Arry goes, they would follow, could be good…

Maybe we could nick their left back 😉

  9. rico says:

Thats just the way it goes sometimes Ryan and we as a club do tend to dither a bit, actually, make that a lot ….

Lewis – listening to him as a pundit on the euros is quite grinding, thankfully the cool calm Keown is on the BBC – shame he is with that twurp Pearce though….

  10. Adam says:

I doubt they would Rico. Take Walker, Bale and Modric out and you’re left with a bunch of 30 plus has-beens and a few never were and never will be bottlers.

  11. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning, nice one Rico 🙂
Nasri made his choice, he got his Premier Medal and he’s on his own, his massive wages stops him being sought after, He’s on a nice salery and hopefully a long contract, so he will bleed them dry. Players like Nasri will be a drain and although his employers can afford it it does give me a little satisfaction that his Hundred odd grand a week is slowly draining Citys resources. The more players like Nasri on their books the better as far as i am concerned as they can only register so many players. and once their full up the more new talent available to us. We have the same problem with our squad where the ones that won’t make it are draining us but at least thats on a smaller scale, but this is something that needs addressing very soon, Wenger must know who will feature in the future time to sell or give away the ones who dont.

  12. Adam says:

Lewis. Don’t dare call him that to his face. He is a football manager, albeit one with a sagging, fleshy face, a twitch and a dog with a number of bank accounts in foreign tax havens. Allegedly.

  13. Thorny says:

Wow I just read the post and of course the report in the metro about Nasri….this is the funniest thing ever!!

  14. rico says:

Woy would say he’s a twiffic wheeler dealer 😉

You are probably right Adam, all talk – and Freidel, how many points did he save them last season, they will struggle to replace him, maybe they will snap up Almunia on a free 😉

  15. ktr7 says:

Anyone watch Argentina Vs Brazil friendly last night?…it was the most entertaining match i’ve seen in a long long time.Argentina won 4-3 with messi netting a hattrick including a superb solo winner.Neymar was fantastic too.if both sides were not so wasteful it could’ve been at least 7-7 😮 😮

  16. rico says:

    Morning Steve – thanks..

Read this morning that Citeh are looking to offload a few, and will suffer £50M plus losses, i won’t be shedding any tears….

  17. ktr7 says:

😉 rico.that match was brilliant.Messi and Neymar are beasts.the flair, dribbling and technique in that match alone will probably be more than you’ll see in the entire Euros.if you can get your hands on that game watch it,its worth your time.

  18. Romford Pele (HC) says:

I’m trying to Rico, I really am!

The French squad is outrageous but if England set out their stall like Denmark yesterday, they can get a result.

We’re linked with Dzagoev, would love him!

  19. ktr7 says:

Neymar is as quick as theo but much more skilled.he is also very creative with the ability to make killer passes.he has so much flair too.i can see why Arsene said he would be his dream signing.he is going to be immense.

  20. Adam says:

I think Redknapp is eyeing the Barcelona job. Messi reckons that the chance of working with him will take his game to new heights.

  21. goonerboy says:

If RVP goes to Man City-the only club who will pay 250 k then tough shit- but I doubt he will.
He will go to Juve for 140 k max- marginally more than at AFC but crucially the chance to win trophies in a credible outfit not cheapskate Arsenal whose only interest is making money from buying kids and unknowns.
If you’ve carried a top club for a whole season like RVP has- I reckon he has earned the right to choose.
At Arsenal the agenda is always profit before players- and RVP knows this. So if he leaves, I for one will wish him well.

  22. herley says:

M’villa, jan V., rondon as backup striker. Then we need mid class right full back for sagna injury, jekinson isnt fit enough to hold that position, Santos and Gibbs is still ok then vermeleen is another player that fits in i think with four quality signing we can compete.

  23. ktr7 says:

I’ve never seen a friendly so competitive.i remember just before messi’s winner Brazil had a 6 vs 4 counter which they wasted.in the nexp phase of play messi came from the right channel about 20yards from the halfway line made that diagonal run to curl an absolute beauty.he did that all night and the defenders had to kick him.messi is insane guys,a freak.

  24. rico says:

goonerboy, RvP’s dad has said that he wouldn’t go to another club in the PL, can’t see him going to italy either..

Barca, Real Madrid or he stays and i’m going for the last of those three….

  25. Romford Pele (HC) says:

Rico, Dzagoev plays for CSKA Moscow – scored twice for Russia on Friday night. He’s an awesome playmaker.

  26. ktr7 says:

Hummels was immense yesterday.Bayern must be ruing the day they thought he wasn’t good enough letting him go.

  27. agirlagunner says:

    Boooo!!! Hello, all.

RvP will stay. 🙂 I hope Na$ti is sold to some middling team. He would deserve it! We should buy more Dutch players, they already meet rico’s all-important requirement. 😀 Wink wink.

As for Messi, he may well be the best player this earth has seen, but my opinion of anything and everything Barcelona is so colored by my (extreme) dislike of the likes of Xavi, Pique, Busquets, et al., I cannot be bothered by any of theirs. 😀 I hate the stainy lot without reservation.

  28. rico says:

He’d do for me then Romford 😉

Kt, I thought so too re Hummels…

Howdy agag, i’m certainly with you on the Dutch, what is it about them eh 😉

  29. Scott From Oz says:

    Morning all.
Stop talkin about the Brazil v Argenina came,I’m about to watch it!!
I said a week ago that Spurs are a pricked balloon now.
They had heir best chance in years to beat us one and couldn’t.
Modric will go,Bale wants to,Harry….who cares.
    They’re in very big trouble.
The Euros games have been scrappy, that’s for sure.
When do Fance get their first 3 points:)
    Podolski is a weapon.
He looked dangerous, and yes,his work rate is exceptional.
I guess he only thing he has to do is prove he can do it for us week in and week out.

  30. Scott From Oz says:

    Oh,and Nasri,let’s get him back,please.
Our bench has been cold for 12 months…needs a big, hairy French arse to keep the snow off.

  31. Shevo says:

@Goonerboy- Arsenal have carried RVP and his injuries for 8 seasons so I think he owes us. Last season was just a taster of what could have been of he was injury free in the previous 7. He should stay and repay the faith shown in him by the club especially when some fans were even questioning whether it made sense not to offload him the season
    before.

@rico – nice post. I’d rather stick my knob in a hive full off angry bees that see that money grabbing cnut Na$ri back at our beloved club. Hope he rots in the Oil Slicks reserves.

  32. Adam says:

Hi Rico. The cricket is on here but I am moving on to the next stage of renovation now and have been planning a new bathroom online. It’s turning out to be looking quite expensive. I could do with a footballer’s wages for a couple of weeks. Actually I won’t be greedy. One week of Diaby’s money will do. He won’t miss it.

  33. rico says:

That sounds very nice Adam, I wouldn’t mind a week of his money either, especially for doing as ‘much’ as he has to do to get it….

  34. irish gooner says:

ireland today will win and then sit proud on top of the group,,you’ll never beat the irish!!

  35. Adam says:

That show is a lesson in imbecility Rico. They all hang around near here and having seen them many times in local bars and restaurants I really don’t know how they have worked out how to put one foot in front of the other to actually walk. I have eaten more intelligent vegetables. They are almost, though not quite, as banal as Gary Lineker.

  36. Micko says:

Nite rico, great start by Ireland, I’m off on a scouting mission for the week, someone’s gotta do it, catch you all later, c’mon Ireland.

  37. Charlie George aka AK says:

Al Jazzerra are reporting that Olivier Giroud has agreed to join Arsenal.
Make of that what you will…

  38. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, I read the same. Giroud has agreed to join arsenal.
RVP must doing much more in the Euro.
New Corunha sign come from Sporting Lisbon (Andre Santos). Is a midfield player.

  39. Devilgunner says:

    Morning Fine Folk.

Good day Charlie aka Sir AK

    How are you all

    Still at work mate???

Seems as if Giroud is going to be our new number 9

  40. devilgunner says:

Arsenal are reported to have agreed a fee of £13million with Montpellier for France international striker Olivier Giroud.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has long been linked with a move for the player who fired Montpellier to the League title in France last season but reports have now claimed a fee has been agreed.

Wenger has already brought Lukas Podolski to the club this summer but chairman Peter Hill-Wood has promised further signings and Giroud could be the next to arrive.

There have been suggestions that Marouane Chamakh could move the other way as part of the deal and that would make sense as Wenger looks to clear the decks to allow for new arrivals.

Chelsea and QPR have also been linked with a move but Arsenal appear to be in the box seat after activating the £12.8million release clause in the player’s contract.

  41. devilgunner says:

I think that Na$ri is very edgy about something!!!!!

He is trying to convince himself that he made the right decision the little twerp.

  42. devilgunner says:

You know what Lady…….being out of football these last two weeks has seen me enjoying life once again. Doing HW with the little one, playing, going out, jogging together or biking together, helping the missus together, pillow fighting of the highest order 😆

ehhhhhhh life can be so beautiful

  43. rico says:

    Just teasing you devil 😉

    Every cloud then devil 🙂

Morning Lee, no, it means Chamakh is offski 🙂

  44. HeartoutWithaGoon says:

As much as I’d love to see Chamkh heading back on the Eurostar, unfortunately I can’t see it happening with the Giroud deal- when was the last time you saw a part exchange deal go through? They are a tabloid fiction. Giroud looks the business and it’s good to see he’s an out and out striker. Podolski will operate much the same as he did for ze Germans the other night on the left as Arsharvin used to. Big concern is letting M’vila join the long list of players slipping through the net with news Barce are in for him- he would be a much needed signing after Song has made it clear he is not a DM.

  45. Adam says:

“Floppy haired, leading Italian onanist Roberto Mancini had to be calmed by Man City directors last night after seeing several footballers that he demanded be signed immediately. With his face partially obscured by a blue and white scarf, Mancini continually leapt to his feet while watching his beloved Italy play Spain. After one particularly mazy dribble by Iniestre, Mancini began screaming at the top of his voice that he wanted the club to sign the player for £285 million and offer him £1billion a year in wages. Apparently he was calmed by his wife who swung a 300 carat diamond she usually wears in the bath in front of his eyes. Thiago Motta was next to excite Mancini who, it is claimed, fumbled with his gold encrusted phone to put in a bid thought to be around the half billion mark. But when Cesc Fabregas scored Mancini let out a blood-curdling scream and began stamping his feet while hysterically bellowing that he would offer the entire GDP of Tunisia and wages totalling £12 billion a year. When told this was impossible a manic Mancini burst into tears and began sobbing uncontrollably and moaning ” But I want him, I want him”. He then began a violent tirade against Sammy (the snout) Nasri accusing him of not trying. Removing his head from a nearby trough Nasri opined that he could try a lot harder if his wages were doubled”
