Nasri is the exception, Podolski in talks & Vertonghen replacement lined up for January..

I don’t condone violence in the game we all love, however if we get into the last second of extra time tonight with the score at 1-0 and one of our fringe players can hoof him into row z, I’d be quite happy! As long as he takes the ball first of course! 😉

I absolutely despise the player, the way he turned his back on the club and manager who bought him into the limelight of the English football beggars belief. Wenger though is trying to calm the home supporters…..

You want to respect the players who have played for us, that is what we expect. But it is always more important to support our team on Tuesday night, than to be negative towards the players of Manchester City.

What is important is we are united to win the game.

Ok, let’s not waste our time booing him or anything similar as that will only make him feel good, let’s just beat him and his new side and give him a bit of food for thought!

Beating Citeh tonight though is a huge task but its Carling Cup night and anything is possible, despite us being huge underdogs.

Two players of ours who are more than likely to start tonight are Yossi Benayoun and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Arsene Wenger has been talking about them:

Overall, Alex has the quality and I can only show that I believe in that in buying him.

Secondly I can show that by playing him – but also by working with him on the training pitch. Alex is developing very well. He is very positive and he works very hard.

On Yossi:

He has been absolutely fantastic but we have so much choice in midfield and we play with three strikers.

The chances for the midfielders are not so big and that’s why he has not played as much as he deserves.

The attitude of all the players that came in has been great – everybody helps focus the team to win and he does that as well.”

So, Wenger has bigged them both up ahead of tonight’s game so I strongly suspect they will start, who else will join them?

That’s anyone’s guess and I am not even going to bother trying but whoever plays should realise that tonight is all about pride, it’s about grafting from start to finish, it’s about not worrying about how much money the opposition has or about whom we face.

It’s about the Red and White which is The Arsenal, it’s about working hard with the right tactics and with the passion to win.

In fact, I’ll be bold enough to say that’s tonight is not necessarily about the result, it’s about the performance.

Whoever plays tonight, just be proud, be strong and play with heart, passion and desire and you never know, that may just see us beat the biggest money bags in football…..

Sometimes it is not always about the destination, it’s about the journey……

Let’s make this journey a great one…..

Snippet from The Daily Express – According to a source in Cologne, we were again watching Lukas Podolski on Friday:

We are aware Arsenal are watching Podolski and they were at Friday’s game.

Some reports even go on to suggest we are already in talks over a deal.

The same paper suggests that we are also in for Jan Vertonghen after Ajax confirmed they have a replacement lined up for a January move.

Those two would be a good opening for the up and coming transfer window…

Have a good day all….

Morning HH…..we are the underdogs for the game tonight(wow that sounded corny, who would have predicted that 5 seasons ago when we used to thrash the mugwashers) the media loves an underdog as long as its not THE ARSENAL so go out there boys and whipped the living daylights out of those arabian mercenaries. Show them why we wear a GUN on our shirts. And as for nashit, poke his eyes pong. Come on you gunners. Come on!

  2. rico says:

It’s going to take a top performance to whup them tonight goonster, hope the Emirates is full to it’s capacity and the fans are loud….

  3. goonster says:

Rico, why the dread? We ll stuff them. We always do. We are the hungrier of both teams. We ll win this. Ashavin to have a cracker to up our asking price for him in january. Relax maam, we ve got this. Come on.

  4. rico says:

The dread is, if citeh end up beating us comprehensively, all the confidence we have slowly been building up could be shattered…

But as i said in the post, it’s cup night and anything can happen, i would love nothing more than to beat a bunch of over paid egos….

  5. goonster says:

I hear its a sell out…..the stadium ll be filled to the brim. It ll be rocking tonight…..aaahhh only wish am in london tonight. I ll scream my lungs out each time we get to their goal post. I ll make nashit shit himself. What a mug.

  6. rico says:

Possibly Remy Lee, he’s a bit taller, two years younger and is going places but, the downside is, he’s French 😉

  7. rico says:

Hi jc – to be honest, there is no reason why we can’t get a scoreline like that, if the likes of AA and Chamakh etc start earning their money. If AA plays like he did at the weekend, wenger needs to get him off a lot quicker.

One thing the younger players will do though is fight, they’ll be wanting to show wenger why they deserve to be playing…

  8. goonster says:

Lee, I ll go with remy….he’s younger with a blistering pace and can play on both wings as well as center. Him over podoski any day.

  9. devilgunner says:

    Morning Guys and Chicks.

Goonster….still off the liqour?? Kept your promise man??

You see mates….even JC agrees with me. 3-1 to AFC. Arshavin to score a hat-trick and Park to get 3 assists.

  10. goonster says:

Lee you lucky devil you! God, what I ll give to be at the EMS tonight. The atmosphere ll be eccentric. The booze, women folk and the game itself.ahhhhh. And hey have you guys noticed we seem to have the finest women supporting the arsenal. I saw a couple of hotties celebrating on TV when we equalized. Men those “birds” looked tasty. Add that to our in house hotties(rico, diane and my very own mamachita AGAG) and we ve got a PARTY!

  11. rico says:

Morning DG – if AA gets a hatrick, you won’t be getting a post in the morning, i’d be in hospital having afllen off my chair and broken my arm 😉

  12. rico says:

Talking of the ladies, as you seem to like to goonster, have you seen that Ryo is heading off to Japan with the AFC ladies?

  13. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Most players leave one club to join another for either a step up the ladder or for more money, although Arsenals Wages are one of the highest, it is not the best. If somebody offered you 20 30 grand a week more you would be stupid to say no, so i have no qualms with a man taking the money. If a players reasons are so he says, to win trophies i can understand how he may think that playing for City or Barca would enhance his chances, and i have no problems with that either. These players have done well for us in the past and i wish them well in the future.
Will we win tonight, the odds are against us, but at the end of the day as Stan has pointed out many times and i agree with him, Its 11 against 11 and its about the 11 that wants it more. Daft that i might be, i fancy us for tonight 2.1

  14. alan b'stard M P says:

    morning/Evening all

Podolski and Vertonghen. That would be nice, but I suspect it would take us getting a couple of batterings to convince AW they are worth the price

If we make the carling cup final, I bet London to a brick AW will put the shite players in like last year

They need to win something to boost confidence

  15. Micko says:

    Morning all,
I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing nasri put his face into kozzers boot tonight, not worried about clichy, he probably doesn’t even know what day of the week it is.
I think its gonna be a bridge too far this evening, there will be bigger battles ahead.

  16. rico says:

    Morning Steve

I can understand players leaving to better their wage but as a footballer surely football should come first, Na$ri is gethering splinters these days isn’t he?

I prefer TV’s attitude, there is a player who could walk into most defences but as he said, he’s no quitter and wanted to stay and make things right…. Just what he is trying to do too….

  17. rico says:

    Morning Micko

seems Clichy will be on the bench, shame really, Oxo could make him look as bad as we all know he is…

I think it’s going to be a bit too much for us on paper, but some of these young guns have something about them…

  18. rico says:

    Hi alan,

i don’t think Vertonghen is valued at a huge price is he?

Podolski is £18M which i think is far too much….

  19. stevepalmer1 says:

TV’s lucky to have a job, and i think he knows it, had he been available for us last year we may have won something but that of course cannot be proved, we stood by him and nursed him back to fitness he ows us, and when he has repaid that and an offer comes in i have no doubts that he would be off as well. We may see the Arsenal as the ultimate club, but they see it as a job the same as we see ours, and if the grass is greener then off we go

  20. rico says:

    Go on, do it…..

Roberto Mancini has slammed the chaotic fixture list and claimed its draining nature is the major reason why England continually fail at major tournaments.

Manchester City’s manager is furious that his team must face Arsenal in a Carling Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night, having had little more than 48 hours to recover from a frenetic 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Mancini will make 11 changes to his starting line-up but is so frustrated that he claimed he considered making a protest by fielding a team made up purely of ‘14 and 15-year-olds’.

  21. rico says:

I’m not so sure Steve, i think he has a bit more to him than that, if Wenger builds the right squad there is no reason for anyone to leave if we start winning things…

Money isn’t the be all and end all to every player….it’s not like they aren’t already earning life changing money…

  22. goonster says:

Rico how did you come up with that…..the clichy story that is? Why is he not playing? I was really looking forward to the OX tearing him a new one. Bummer.

  23. goonster says:

I see the tabloids have already given the tie to city. Good, I love it when we make them look like the mugs they are. I love this season. So far we ve been the underdogs even against the spuddies we were underdogs! If only wenger ll heed our cry for a good back up striker for Robin. I ll like to see their faces at the end of the season when we finish above the spuds again.

  24. Micko says:

Steve, the grass may look greener on the other side but it could be astro turf, sometimes you don’t know a good thing till its gone.
There’s a lot of greedy bastards out there.

  25. rico says:

Usual paper talk goonster… i don’t care if he plays or not to be honest…

Micko, we should have expected nothing less from na$ri, he did the same to his previous club, but for everyone like him, there are many more who see deeper than lining their own pockets….

  26. Joaquim Moreira says:

    good morning
Diaby is only fit now for just ten minutes?!!!
Myachy it’s our public relations in Asia? yes I know Ladies play tomorrow but if he is injury it will be good to be abroad?
I’v seem Koln-Moenchenglabah last Friday and Poborsky have been, maybe, 35 times off-side…
    And he is too expensive.
I read today somewhere, Newcastle is interesting in the central forward of Montpelier. He is in the top os goal-scores in France and he is not expensive.
Chamak in PSG? I know they have 70 millions for spend in January and they want to Naples players (Cavani one of them of course) and if not Hulk (45 millions) and Lucas (from S.Paulo).
Chamack will be only for charity…

  27. rico says:

    Hi JM,

it seems so re Diaby, and how long did he play for? It’s becoming a joke with him…..

I don’t mind why PSG want Chamakh – as long as they take him 😉

  28. Gooner Sam says:

Good day all! Nice rousing speech Rico, I genuinely think we have a chance tonight, just hope moneybags Basri doesn’t score as most returning ex players do. Score prediction?

  29. goonster says:

No hope rico…..I want him to play. He needs to be at the receiving end of a huge spanking. I hope we had one of those days where things just happens for us all over the pitch. Like the game at stamford bridge. God what I ll give to have us thrash city with samir and clishit on the pitch!

  30. goonster says:

Am kinda confused you guys. Is diaby injured? There ve been no official confirmation of his injury else where except on the blog world.

  31. Osi says:

hi all RIP Gary Speed. He was one of the nicest rival player I’ve ever seen.

At AFC official club and the match preview there’s no news of Diaby injury!!! Are some people trying to jinx the guy? Read Gunnerblog last night and there was a mention that Diaby was injured, unbelievable?

  32. oliver says:

morning all…i thought watching players is what scouts normally do? sounds like someone at/affiliated with fc koln is trying to get their name in the papers? i am sure our scouts are at many grounds watching many players – this one means little at the moment…

a bit apprehensive about tonight…i am sure mancini will rotate, but he will still bring a strong squad. we clearly have to rest some players; i just hope that arsene does not over-rotate and cobble together some kid/fringe players tonight. we should still start with at least a few regulars – players that our aforementioned kids/reserves will benefit playing alongside. when arsene over-rotated last season, they often looked like eleven strangers out there.

we can get a result tonight…but changing everything around will greatly reduce those chances. we still have the dead rubber at piraeus coming up as well, so that is another opportunity to rotate – we don’t have to rest everyone here and now.

this does not necessarily have to be an either-or proposition. i still think we can achieve our goal of resting players, while still putting out a team that can win tonight. but i am concerned that arsene will go in with a result as his lowest priority and select the team accordingly. this is a competition we can win, and we should do as much as we reasonably can to give ourselves a shot at it.

  33. mog says:

    from arsenal.com
team news: daiby and walcott latest
Arsène Wenger revealed the latest team news ahead of the Manchester City game:

on the team news after the Fulham game…
The news is that from Saturday we have no real injuries, so that is quite good. There are a few tired legs and some players need to recover but overall the news is quite positive.

on the nature of the team against Manchester City…
It will be the usual mix of youth and experience.

    on Abou Diaby…
The only thing we have to check is if Diaby is out for tomorrow. He has an MRI scan today and we’ll see what’s going on in his hamstring.

    on Theo Walcott…
    He is OK.

  34. rico says:

    Hi oliver..

All depends how important the CC os to Wenger I guess, we will soon know when the squad is announced – personally I think we will see 6/7 changes to our usual line up…

  35. W.A.T.H says:

So much for the Diaby not injured so as usual he’s injured YET again….! wasn’t rumour at all then merely very good info…! or a very good calculated guess 😀

  36. rico says:

    Hi mog,

so Diaby has a hamstring injury, must be causing him a probelm if he needs a scan, think its safe to say he won’t be featuring tonight…. shame really, he could have done with another match..

  37. W.A.T.H says:

I rather play Oxo on the right Gervinho on the left, who cares if he gets tired the next few weeks he’s off to the ACN he can rest then 😉 Yossi and Frim in the middle AA behind Park or Chamkh up front.

Won’t happen though as wenger will stick to that poxy 433…

  38. oliver says:

we’ll see what he does. i personally suspect he is going to do what he did last season, and we will play poorly and come away with nothing. if he does, i’ll say again that it does not have to be that way. this is a competition we can win and we should try and win it. to me, this tie is still more important to us than the final cl group tie – i think that is the match for arsene, if ever, to make wholesale changes…

i hope he learned his lesson from last season’s trip to the dw…he made a lot of changes for that match too and we got only a point from a match against really poor opposition…we’ll have to bring our best available eleven up there, especially after we dropped two points this past weekend.

  39. rico says:

oliver – we all want to win it too and with the right side, attitude and tactics we could – it’s whether wenger sees it that way…

he’s alreay suggested that AA, Yossi and Chamberlain will play and RvP will be rested, that’s four changes straight off – Yenarris, Eastmond and both Frimps and Coq were all in training so, i don’t think he will stop at just the four….

  40. Joaquim Moreira says:

Gervinho should play all the games because in all of them he is always replaced in the 2nd half.
    Rest Diaby for saturday.
Rest Arteta, Song and Ramsey too.
    Fabiansky or Manone gk.
Put Fripong and Ben. We need a central midfield…Coquelin !
    Put Gervinho, Park and AA
Santos should play at he left.
Put Squillaci at CB. Maybe his today’s performance will be fantastic and Citizens wants him in January

  41. Kevin says:

Before you read this don’t come out with stupid crap like I should f off to Chelski or worse Sp/rs believe me I would by far prefer be writing saying how great and rosy things look and how confident I feel for the future but…….

Now I believe is the time to say that we have had a good run against crap sides (and that includes Chelsea who we caught at the best time possible as they made every defensive mistake in the book and we had RVP on fire!) But against a reasonable defence in Fulham we have started to come back to reality and to the fact that our squad is still sh*t ….full of average rubbish with deals done on the cheap, and with the exception of Vermaelen our only quality defender and our only world class player RVP who will leave at the end of the season after we flop out of everything and fail to finish in the top 4 (probably end up 7th).

While Wenger gets away with having stripped away every last ounce of credibility by having a squad filled with the likes of…… Djourou,Diaby,Rosicky,Arshavin,Gervinho,Arteta,Squillachi,Park,Chamakh,Coquelin,
Frimpong.Santos,Miguel,Fabianski,Jenkinson,Koscielny…..and not forgetting the loanees still on the books ie…..Bendtner,Vela,Denilson,Almunia

Now be honest and look at that list and tell me with even a remote degree of unbiased evaluation…..does this list look like it is the the stuff of potential league winners, cup winners, or even anything other than a list of players who would not look out of place playing for the likes of Everton/Sunderland/Villa/Norwich etc., …No club with ambition to be a top club would entertain the thought of acquiring any of them….. and if you need any proof just ask yourself this question, “how big a clamour was there to buy”……. Gervinho? or Arteta or Santos or Mertasacker, did any top club try to beat us to sign them???? the answer NO and why, because they would’nt even make their ladies teams! The same question can be asked when relating to our loanees, who realistically we couldn’t give away!!!

Now I am going to write something that hurts and sticks in my gut as a supporter for over 45 years but look again at this squad and then take a look at what Redknap along with his board have done with Sp*rs!! Man for man their squad is a class above ours, they have broken the dominance that we had over them for 15 years and now threaten to move into the position that we so long enjoyed in the top 4, and they not us have the potential to challenge for the league and they are able to hold onto their best players (Modric) in spite of receiving big cash offers….they do not take the money and run, neither do they have a board who have systematically sold the heart out of the club!

look again at the side and you will see that major surgery is needed and the spending of 200million+ to build a side that will take us from also rans back to being able to challenge seriously for top honours again.

This season we will have our little successes against the average/poor sides but ultimately it will end in a complete and utter failure come May…… then what? Will you and I merrily go along and blindly continue to support and follow this complete and utter shambles that our board (inc Kronke)who along with our manager has made of this the club that we love!!!?

No there HAS to be major changes otherwise this season could see us slip into the oblivion of also rans that provide cannon fodder for the top clubs, Even if the change started now t will take many years to bring us back to the top, but if it is left to those at the top, years could become decades….ask Liverpool!!!!!

Please don’t be fooled into accepting 2nd best or minor successes….. we must demand more from the Board and pressure them into making the changes NOW!!!

  42. stevepalmer1 says:

Sounds like a mental war between Wenger and Mancini. Will he or won’t he. Whatever they do it will still start with 11 against 11. game on.

  44. rico says:

    Hi JM

I don’t want to see Squilli, he’s too slow and clumbsy 🙁

    I hope we don’t play 433 either…..

    Steve, let the battle commence..

  45. rico says:

    Hi Kevin –

before i read your comment, please just take a peep at the writing underneath Highbury House logo – here you can speak freely and being told to support another club is not something I condone on here – so feel safe, no-one will suggest you support any club other than the one you do…..

  46. rico says:

One thing i strongly disagree with kevin is the need for 200M to make us a winning side.

imho, all this side needs to make us winners is a better reserve keeper, a CH, LB, CF and at a push, a DM….

They would not cost half of what you quote….

  47. stevepalmer1 says:

Sorry to hear you are a disgruntled supporter of fortyfive years Kev, top four for fifteen years not good enough for you then, I on the other hand think this is a great feat, but i must be easily pleased.

  48. rico says:

It’s a difficult one Steve, for a club like ours, not winning silverware for so long is hard to stomach but we all know what changes have been made along the way, like the stadium and training facilites.

Top four for fifteen years is in itself remarkable considering who we have sold and who we have bought..

But, I still believe that the board over the years have been very tight and Wenger has been a supporter of that. They have concentrated too much on making money reather than making us winners…

Kevin is right about how we all too often go about our business and the players we buy, usually they are players who other clubs aren’t even interested in or just beacuse they are the cheaper option.

Everything is far from rosy, it’s better than it was in August yes, but not perfect and it never will be unless we get a sqaud that is deep enough and strong enough to truly compete….

Top four is great, but it doesn’t bring trophies and that is what players and fans want…

  49. stevepalmer1 says:

Understand where your coming from Rico, but has beens or alsorans takes a bit of stomaching, when we have Just qualified as one of16 of the best of Europe, Arsenal supporters are quick to forget what we have acheived especially when comparing us to City and the Spuds.

  50. devilgunner says:

There is one trap that everyone is falling for. ITS STILL NOVEMBER. CAN WE SPEAK AROUND THE END OF MAY???

Remember 1989. The last kick, in the last second of the last game. That changed history. It was men against boys. Against also rans. Against a team no one gave a hope.

Kevin, you may be right. But these are the players we have. We had better and certainly we had worse. But although we have our own favourites and those who we dislike, we must support the team and those who give their best. AA is certainly more talented than Rosicky, but who gives 100%?

45 years cannot be sniffed at and they certainly offer experience. However they should also offer you enough intelligence not to say that a team is better than the other at the end of november but reserve that judgement in May.

  51. rico says:

Steve, i personally would never compare us to the scum, we are a wonderful club with history, they have nothing – other than a tax dodging manager who wheels and deals with the paps to keep him from the limelight….

Our squad still needs additions, we all know that but, our firts 12/13 players can match any side on the day….

    It’s after them i worry about… 😉

  52. smudge says:

Fabianski; Djourou, Koscielny, Miquel, Yennaris; Frimpong, Benayoun, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Park, Chamakh.

    Whats the city lineup guys?

  53. smudge says:

Man City XI v Arsenal: Pantilimon, Onuoha, Savic, K. Toure, Zabaleta, Johnson, de Jong, Nasri, Hargreaves, Kolarov, Dzeko”

There we go. Nasri in midfield mmmh…… interesting

  54. rico says:

That’s an interesting side AW has put out……

smudge, good to see you come back, so many comment and then bugger off….

  55. rico says:

Guys – that earlier line up is wrong, here is from .com

Team in full: Fabianski, Djourou, Squillaci, Koscielny, Miquel, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frimpong, Coquelin, Benayoun, Park, Chamakh.

Substitutes: Mannone, Yennaris, Vermaelen, Eastmond, Ozyakup, Gervinho, Arshavin.

  56. rico says:

We like to think so smudge 🙂

sorry goonster, haven’t got one 🙁

Steve, not so keen on Squilli but like Fimps and Coq in the middle…

  57. devilgunner says:

TBH it is not exactly 4-4-2 but Park will play a bit more withdrawn of the two. Says it all about Arshavin……if he cant get in the side when it plays 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 then he must be pissing AW off.

  58. rico says:

Well well, not half bad me thinks, sharpen up the passing, get down the left wing a bit more and we can do this – Yossi is cutting in a bit too much., just like AA did – makes me wonder if that’s what AW has told them….

Do I dare whisper that Squilli is doing ok 😉

  59. goonster says:

What a player that AOC is…..complete performance from him. Even if we end up losing this…..am impressed. What a player. Look out theo.

  60. devilgunner says:

My substitution would be more bizarre than Mancini’s. I would swap TV05 on for Chamack and put TV05 up front. He will scare their defenders out of their wits. Then when he scores a couple put him infront of the defence.

  61. rico says:

Ox, Coq, Frimps have all been very very good…..

Miquel, playing out of position is not doing a bad job filling in at LB either….

  62. rico says:

TV up front DG, that comes as no surprise that you suggest that, we need someone up top with a bit of attitude, neither Park or Chamakh have it…

But, at anytime i think Park could score, Chamakh nah…..

  63. devilgunner says:

But he is winning balls in air Steve. We do lack that. Also he is allowing us to condense play and stifle shitty from getting intotheir passing game.

Best attitude so far…..has to be Frimpong. he is everywhere and is not afraid to get stuck in.

  64. rico says:

I’m logging off guys, got to get up the wooden ones straight after the final whistle, have an early alarm call 🙁

Just one goal please Arsenal, just one goal…. and don’t concede of course….

    Catch you all tomorrow….

    Nighty all…..

  65. devilgunner says:

So it is Arsenal reserves 0 – 1 Eur154 million.

Arsenal’s starting 11 did not cost more than 38 million. And although we lost we left with heads held high.

  66. agirlagunner says:

Proud of our young men!! Great game, shame about the result. Citeh were lucky. For a team worth gajillions, god how boring were they??

Tonight’s performance was excellent Le Cog ox Kos Miquel frimpong all stars. Two new fowards and we will be good to go.

I thought our young’uns were exceptional tonight. On the strength of tonight’s performance, our future’s looking bright. Wow, I rhyme. 🙂

  69. stevepalmer1 says:

Pretty close game, shame about the result but at least we got to see the ox could have a great future but he needs some quality up there as well. Park and Chamakh didn’t perform on the night, but the lads chased everything

steve, I am up now. 🙂 Woke up 5am as per my usual then realized it was a bank holiday morning. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Cheeky wench……. I am sober as a judge… pretty fucked off though.. those arab mancs are 2 bob… all that money and they are shit flappy didn’t have a save to make apart from picking the ball out the net, very frustrating…! Thought Frim and Coq had great games Ox as well and if only we had some end product up front we’d of got the result our play deserved.

That should tell wenger all he needs to know about buying a goalscorer in Jan….! Desperately needed…!

  72. agirlagunner says:

Frim Coq Ox Miquel were excellent. Unfortunately, our strikers didn’t have their shooting boots on. Still a performance to be proud of; results notwithstanding. The zillionaires had two chances on goal, one went in. 🙁 That extra bit of quality from Dzeko and Aguero told. Pfft.

On the other hand, Na$ti deserved hell, got it and visibly looked off his game. Didn’t exactly shine, did he? Shame, Toure did.

As for sobriety: I don’t believe you for a second, GG Man. 😉

  73. W.A.T.H says:

We matched them all over the pitch Steve apart from where it mattered…!

If your gonna play 4 in midfield which i been crying out for then why play Park n Chamakh when the only crosses in reality are gonna come from Ox, play AA to give us different options…? poor choice in my opinion but hey such is life, nice to see us compete and thats what I was bothered about so fair play to the lads they did really well…

A proper Striker in Jan has to be a priority and maybe someone who can play left n right wing when Gerv pisses off for 6 weeks…?

  74. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG i am devastated by your lack of faith in me……..

Fuck nasri the judas bitch deserves all he got and then some…. he’s a money grabbing weasel…! Loved Frim giving it to him at the end….. know who my money is on there for a little “afters” in the tunnel…!

  75. agirlagunner says:

Good on Frimps for refusing to have anything to do with Na$ti. 😀 If his bum wasn’t so naturally well padded, I’d be wanting Pingpong to have a go at it.

  76. agirlagunner says:

Here is Mancini’s ringing endorsement of Nasri:

‘I played him because I didn’t have other players. It’s better that he played this game, then when he comes back in the Premier League he knows what will happen.’

Lol. Indispensable to City’s success, Nasri is. And one who needs to learn all about the prem. 😀

    Well done, Pingpong! 🙂

Morning all you guys and chicks.

Frimpong is the talk of the town. The way he dealt with Na$ti was legendary stuff. To tell him in no uncertain and polite terms to piss off was the cherry on the cake after a typical hardman’s performance. He was going in with good tackles and gave him a bit of the rough stuff. Tackles are what makes creatures like Na$ti dissappear and for long moments I thought that he was invisible…..similiar to when he was with us. Diaby the next Vieira?? Muamba the next Vieiria?? No. It has to be Frimpong for me. The way he was here, there evberywhere has to be lauded. It is down to him, Coq and Koscielny that Arsenal gave a great game to the Eur158 million team on the pitch.

The tackles that were depriving the City attack were great. They were perfectly timed and it was credit to the team that Mancini saw it fit to remove a defender and put on Aguero. That, although tactical but bizarre, was a compliment to the show being put on by the Arsenal team.

Oxo gave perfect glimpses of what we must expect from him. He has put himself in the driving seat for future games and his shooting and crossing besides his positional play was great. That means that AW has only to buy a winger to replace Arshavin. While we were missing chances to kill the game, we had two good shots saved by Pantalimon, it says a lot about Arshavin who was given only around 5 minutes to play. When you cannot even get into the second string which plays with the formation which suits you best, 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 it really is pointing to the direction that you are on your way out. So AW will only buy a striker who can also play on the flanks plus a defender. And put it in your head people…..he will not buy a midfielder unless he knows that Song is buggering off.

But yesterday will remain famous for the way that Frimpong has walked his way into Gunners’ folklore and legends. Great man that Frimps.

Incidentally, there was talk of punches being thrown and Chamack was involved. Sources say that out of the two punches that were thrown by Chamack he missed even those. lol.

  78. josephferriggi says:

A question I would like to ask…….If the second string can condense the movement of the opponents and limit them to a few chances, why can the first team do the same??

And if we played so well in a 4-4-2 with two second string strikers, why cant we do the same formation with the first team?? Cant we play with two strikers or are we simply playing 4-3-3 to accomodate the lack of speed in Song?
