Nasri, Adebayor, Clichy – Cheer, not Jeer!

Frank Stapleton was one of my favourite players. I loved the guy, great in the air, two good feet, never stopped working for the team, the complete centre-forward.

Many Arsenal fans had doubts about him when he first came into the side as a raw-boned 18/19 year old but I’d seen him in the Stiffs and Youths. There was something about him that I taken to. He had a determination about him, a desire to work at his game and to make the very best of the gifts that he had, and I admired him for that…..

Yes Frankie Stapleton was a bit of a hero to me.

Then 12 months after Liam Brady de-camped to Serie A, Frank deserted us for Newton Heath, and from that day I despised him….

So when, during the 1981-82 season, Frank ‘The Manc’ Stapleton rolled up with his new team, I eagerly anticipated the home crowds reaction.

I had a grandstand view upstairs in the West Stand [can’t remember how we got those tickets] and witnessed the most poisonous atmosphere I can ever remember at an Arsenal game.

The frustration of losing our two top players in successive seasons, whilst our Board sat on their hands, buying virtually nobody to replace them, [yes it sounds familiar] was vented on Stapleton that day. Although he must have expected some grief, he actually looked quite stunned at the hatred directed at him.

David O’Leary even motioned to the North Bank to tone it down but to no avail and I felt after the game, a sense of pay-back for his perceived treachery….

Looking back now, a bit older and wiser I wonder what good did it do?

Imagine if all that passion had been used to get behind the team that day, maybe Arsenal would have won instead of drawing…?

Were the Arsenal players also affected by the atmosphere…? They certainly seemed to lack something from their game that day.

And so we come to today…..

Did all the poison directed at Adebayor at WasteLands a couple of years back, help our team???

He certainly had the last laugh results wise!

How will our players benefit when Arabia City turn up at The Grove, if all the focus is on some buck-toothed podgy Frenchman???

Personally all I’m thinking about is beating them and chanting ‘What a waste of money’ at the end….

Why give Nasri the satisfaction and the motivation to put one over us, as Adebayor managed? I’d rather we all ignored the creep and focused 150% on getting behind our team and really hurting Nasri the best way, by taking 3 points off of them…..

That in my view is the priority and the real payback…

    Morning all…

I know what I’d like to do for payback 😉

On a serious note, think you are right Kev, concentrate on our team and don’t give the others our time – no doubt Ade will be looking for his second fastest sprint time when we play the totts…

Good read by the way, and I too loved Frank, until that day….

  2. rico says:

Wenger says he wants to buy three more players, bloomin heck, thats bold….

    Cahill
    M’Vila
    Hazard/Drog

    🙂

  3. K-TR7 says:

Rico i don’t think arsene would make such a bold statement if he isn’t sure of getting those 3 players.lets hope they are over 12 😉

  4. Micko says:

Good moaning, nice post kev, that’s the nature of the beast.
I remember giving cashley cole a torrid time a couple of seasons back, he had a blinder that day and they went on to knock four past us.
Brian Talbot always got a warm welcome when he came back to us with Watford.

  5. Savage says:

I really found it interesting that the doomers suddenly had Adebayor down as a good player AFTER he left the club. 30 goals in a season? Where can we get one of those now?

Still though, the problem with him is not ability, it’s attitude. Same with JET, Anelka, Pennant, Owusu-Abeyei, Barton, etc.

  6. MikeB says:

    Ak,

    really good article… thank you.

Lots of common sense and well written; and I agree… why add to their motivation?

  7. Savage says:

Interesting to see Ferguson and Harry defending our position on Nasri:

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11670_7127734,00.html

I get fed up with this nonsense about how it was only management’s fault that Nasri got into his last year. Fact: no player has to sign a contract and you can’t force him.

  8. rico says:

    Hi Micko,

i think players always give that little more on their return to a club, especially at the top…

Arry has made me laugh again, he’s stoking the fire saying if nasri really moved for trophis, he’d have gone to Utd….

  9. rico says:

Savage – I don’t think Ade’s a bad player, when his mind is on the game, he’s unstoppable but it’s the sulk he has with it… He can’t seem to settle anywhere, its a shame he couldn’t have concentrated more when he was with us, he’s just what we need right now….

In fact he’s what we have missed since he left, the good Ade that is….

  10. K-TR7 says:

Cesc scored again as he won another trophy.he paid tribute to arsenal in his tweet after the game…i don’t know what to think about that to be honest.he should move on as the wounds are still not completely healed.

  11. rico says:

    Hi Mike..

Didn’t take Cecs long to find the net last night, just 3 mins after coming off the bench…. Porto had two sent off, what a surprise…..

  12. rico says:

Kt, he also said that if it doesn’t work out, he’ll move on and start again… back to London maybe 😉

Traore is off to QPR, lets hope he learns to tackle hard in training, especially on Barton!

  13. rico says:

Hi ADK, it’s funny really, i found that article yesterday, its in french – i translated it and posted it here in the comments, now it’s being re posted etc…

I’m not sure it has any truth in it…

Wenger wants three players, we know thats a defender, we also know he has said he wants a striker… One place up for grabs but would that be a winger with Chamberlain and Ryo in the squad??

    I haven’t a clue 😉

M’vila would surely be a better option 🙂

  14. K-TR7 says:

ADK if we are to believe what Arsene said yesterday i don’t think we’ll get hazard.i think its more likely we get a CF not a WF.we have gerv/theo/ryo/oxo to play wide.its unlikely he buys another wide player.

  15. rico says:

    I don’t think we’ll be getting Cahill now 🙁

Alex from the Chavs is the latest story, I think I’d rather Scott Dann…

  16. K-TR7 says:

Howard webb is the ref tomorrow.the mancs are definitely nailed on to get a penalty even if it means he has to trip over himself to award them one.

  17. rico says:

Bollox Kt, just what we didn’t need – however, he might be on his best behaviour after all the ref talk about him last season and the picture of him in the manc shirt…..

i’d have thought the FA would have given that game to someone different….

  18. K-TR7 says:

Rico am confident we’ll get Cahill.Gartside’s outburst yesterday showed they are willing to start a bidding war but we are the only interested party.they’ll cave in eventually and i expect a deal btwn £10-£12mil + add ons.

  19. rico says:

Hope you are right, does all seem a bit strange to see a twitter war involving Gartside… Suggestion is our offer was £10 m but his buyout clause is £17m, they are in a difficult position and need to be careful….

But, I wouldn’t bank on Arry not trying for him…..

  20. Micko says:

Savage, Nasri did nothing wrong, its just we brought in Gazidas and his cronies to thrash out these deals and pay them a lot of money to do it, he’s gotta be on 1 or 2 mill a year, we don’t know what went on behind the scenes, would like to think they done everything they could to try and keep him but we’ll never know, its history now and we got 20 mill for him, we gotta more on.
As for Ade, he must be the only player who doesn’t understand the off side rule, long may it continue.

  21. K-TR7 says:

$amir na$ri went for the £€$¥ no matter what he would like to say.everyone knows it,even twitchy knows it.

  22. goonster says:

Hahahaa very funny KT…….hey micko I made it home in one piece my man. Had too many martinis but still made it home. I ve a hunch we ll get a result tomorrow against the mancs. We ll ruffle some feathers and send some book makers to early retirement….

  23. K-TR7 says:

Remember that game a few years ago we beat the mancs 1 nil despite being written off?ade scored that day and we had JD and senderos in defence…

  24. tomstoned says:

Allezkev….interesting view..but first im very sorry about the line up against pool..my mate is usually well informed..

in a perfect world Allezkev i think you could be right but this is football mate…and emotions run high that is what its all about..

Rico mate…i have a suspicion that Wenger is just all talk…and even worse i think he tries to set up an excuse for NOT buying..and when the transfer windos closes..he will as always say that he tried very hard…either he is lying…or the lying son of a b***h gazidis is not doing his job very well..can anyone explain why we brought in that (man)…he is no good..
leaving Our Beloved Arsenal so exposed as we are is in my eyes a crime…even wenger cant be this stupid..can he ??
    time for changes….

  25. K-TR7 says:

Rico could you please re-direct the men in white labcoats from goonster’s place to arry’s?it seems good old arry isn’t taking his pills again.he is saying city have a better squad than barca 😮

  26. EastSidePaul says:

    Morning all!

I heard Barca beat Porto last night.. I also heard Porto finished the game with 9..
Did anyone see the match? Can we expect more sendings off against Barca this year?! 😉

  27. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners.
    Hi Stan……… martini’s…….?
I thought you was a light & bitter man..!

We’re gonna have to wait until the weekends games are over, to see any transfer action…imho.

  28. allezkev says:

Notice that Gartside hasn’t added anymore tweets or classless comments to those he came out with yesterday……

Overplaying your hand springs to mind…

You can understand that Gartside wants to get the best deal that he can for his club, but there are better ways to achive that, than by repeating the tweets of Bolton fans…..

Hopefully common sense will prevail to the benefit of both clubs next week…

  29. SD-London says:

Fergie is asking people to back off Wenger.

Please do not fall for Fergie’s psychological charms .

WENGER PLS DONT FALL FOR HIS TRAP, JUST A DAY WHEN WE ARE TO PLAY MAN UTD.

Oh oh oh Fergie is good in this mind games , i just hope wenger doesn’t fall for it.

  30. arsenal fan says:

    i saw the match yesterday….
the 1st 20 mins porto matched barca well, but after that barca outplayed them…guarin made a backpass wdich was intercepted by messi and barca made the breakthrough…..rolando was sent off after two very bad tackles on messi…..fabregas came on 77mins and scored a good goal which was provided by messi….

  31. arsenal fan says:

    guys..this isnt great news……
acc to rumours.park chu young who was supposed to sign for lille as hazard replacement is actually coming to london for a medical with arsenal…for 3 million….
can anyone tell who is this guy…..

  32. allezkev says:

Anything we get in Salford tomorrow, will be an absolute bonus…

Looks as if Wenger will have to give debuts to a couple more of our youngsters, what with the injuries, suspensions and Howard Webb, everything is conspiring against us…

As long as the lads give a good account of themselves, then i won’t be upset, whatever the result…

  33. goonster says:

Hi kev…..great post as always. How do you do it man. Here’s hoping we have some to celebrate this time next week.

  34. allezkev says:

Not sure Stan, i do like M’Vila..

We may have to wait for Hazard.

Likewise Cahill, unless the two clubs can come to an arrangement, probably at 23.59 0n Aug 31st… 😉

Don’t know much about Martin. KT is the expert in that area, i always ask him and he’s usually spot-on…

  35. Joaquim moreira says:

    F. Stapleton is commit with us ? 😉
we need more then 3 players and I reforce again, we need a left back. Traore is in loan to QPR?
yes, of course I watched the match yesterday. God match from Porto. An obvious penalty not marked. Messi makes the difference and Barcelona only won in extra time when played versus 10.
If tomorrow we not draw at least,, we will be at relegate zone… and away from the top places in end of august…

  36. allezkev says:

Mind you, the signing of Park Chu Young could signal the departure of Bendtner….?

And that departure could be to Bolton….

That could mean an agreement on Cahill..?

All conjecture, i know. But it would be good if it came true, eh? 😀

  37. SD-London says:

Hazard is not even interested in coming to Arsenal and Wenger doesn’t like signing any player that is not keen .Then Lille is pissed off right now.

  38. rico says:

AF – i just looked at that to see who he is, don’t trust wikki though, anyone can change that, wikki said we’d signed Ricky, but that was down to someone being naughty 😉

  39. rico says:

Lille are not happy, that’s put the mockers on any fither signings from them….

If this Park is as good as the Manc’s Park, I won’t mind 😉

  40. rico says:

    Carling Cup Draw:

  41. rico says:

Tottenham are weighing up a fresh approach for Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Manager Harry Redknapp has concerns over his defensive cover for the new season and negotiations for Blackburn’s Chris Samba have so far hit an impasse.
Head boy: Gary Cahill is the Premier League’s most in-demand defender

Head boy: Gary Cahill is the Premier League’s most in-demand defender

He watched Cahill impress as he scouted next week’s opponents Manchester City.

Bolton, meanwhile, are keen on City’s Dedryck Boyata and Nedum Onuoha but Tottenham would offer Sebastien Bassong and possibly David Bentley in any deal.

  42. Micko says:

I can see a shock on the cards there rico, we might beat Shrewsbury ! Monaco are well and truly miffed as well, they had agreed the deal with Lille if what we’re being told is true, who knows, time will tell.
Kev, thanks for the link, i’ll put it in my knicker pocket.

  43. rico says:

    🙂 Micko…

Suggestion is he’s flying in for a medical, his goal scoring stats don’t fill me with confidence…..

Bizarre one this, but so typical of our manager ….

  44. Micko says:

I don’t know the first thing about this fella, if he’s our quality signing then i’m a dutch monkeys uncle.
I’m quietly confident we’ll sign cahill but keep it under your hat.

  45. ArsenalDK says:

hi rico, he’s easily the most valuable player in the Monaco squad, and I have seen him a couple of times for Korea, he’s really fast! and has composure in front of goal.. But if he’ll make it in the PL? I don’t know.. I hope he’s not a new Jeffers! 😉

  46. rico says:

Hi JM – just four days and Monday is a BH in the UK….

No reason why he can’t ADK, mind you, we haven’t signed him yet and there’s only one Frannie Jeffers, thankfully 😉

Mind you – Nik comes close 😉

  47. ArsenalDK says:

To tell you the truth rico, i don’t think Nicklas is such a bad player, but the last couple of seasons he’s been played out wide, and that is not his natural position.. I would rather have Nicklas in attack than Chamakh.. At leas Bendtner believes in him self..

You don’t rate Bendy that much rico?

  48. goonster says:

Guys what’s this I hear about a Korean dude signing for us? WTF…….is this what we need? God give me strength

  49. rico says:

Ah, i would rather Nik than Chamakh too but in all honesty i’d rather neither – Nik’s ego is too big imho, when he gets his chance he doesn’t take it….

Can’t help being on the wing I know, but h’es old enough to know he can move about on the pitch and go central sometimes 😉

  50. EastSidePaul says:

New guys looks decent, but then everyone does with youtube clips!
Looks like a cross between Rosicky and Helb, that can’t be a bad thing.

  51. goonster says:

Sorry for the F word you guys. Gotta wash my mouth out with soap. Mama must never hear me use them words.

  52. goonster says:

Anyone home……hello. Wow, come on guys get for butts back here we just signed a player FFS. He’s not what we all have been hoping to get but is he any good? KT am looking at you. Kev Dk LEE RICO come on you guys.

  53. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners….
What do you think of Marvin Martin KT?
    What position does he play??
    Stan………. calm down…….

  54. allezkev says:

Don’t know about Djourou being in the holding m/f role, we might see a toss up between Coquelin and/or Ozyakup..!?

  55. K-TR7 says:

I only saw young at the WC2010 and he looked pretty decent.i however don’t know much about Martin AK.

  56. allezkev says:

KT, what i’ve noticed about the Koreans i’ve seen so far in England are that they have great stamina and are hard workers, and we miss that at times, you know the qualities Flamini and Parlour bought to the table.

  57. allezkev says:

Centre of midfield Stan, he has a good range of passing, both long and short… Don’t know if he’ll start [doubt it ] or even get on the bench, but if he did either, then i wouldn’t freak out about it.

Btw, Robbie Savage thinks we’re gonna get a thrashing…….
    No suprise there then..!

  58. allezkev says:

Stan, it’s a massive step up from Reserve football to EPL, so i’d be suprised if he started, but he’s a good player…

Hi Mick, don’t know mate, but i did hear that he’s having a medical..?

  59. goonster says:

Koreans are tireless workers. Those guys can run for 120 minutes without burning out. If he’s better than bendtner then sign him up arsene!

  60. goonster says:

Micko, you are happy cause we are about to sign an unknown korean. OMG look at what the board has turned us to!

  61. Micko says:

There’s an old saying goonster, I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy ! May all your problems be bottled ones.

  62. goonster says:

Good one Micko…..you are probably right….maybe I should just lay off for a while. Hope this Korean dude is worth all the hype….we don’t want anymore francis jeffers and junichi inamoto.

  63. Osi says:

hi all AK some very good points you had there. I think it’s better for us, Arsenal fans, to move on and support our team. Nothing will be gained from booin, insulting and hating on players who played for us.

Nasri was a good professional football who gave all to Arsenal FC during his 3 years stay. It’s unfair to say that he only went for money, there could be other arguments we donwplayed there. Money is very important in this world and I don’t know, didn’t hear of anybody turning down a good salary increase from another company. Who would turn down a ‘double your salary’ offer? Who would say ‘No’ to an employer who rated you and valued you better than others? Don’t kid ourselves and say that money isn’t an issue!

If you also look from another perspective Nasri wasn’t value appropriately by Arsenal board who offered him 1/2 of his market valuation. It’s laughable that they refused to give the wage he asked for, reportedly 110thousands a week. That’s about the half of what he’s reportedly on at Citeh. If an employer doesn’t give you what you think you deserved, what your pairs in similar positions are paid, and that you know others are ready to pay you double of that, then you have a moral high ground. Respect is not one way street; it’s a two-way street. You respect my value, my contribution, my market value and I will respect yours.

There’s no point in questioning a player’s commitment and professionalism because we don’t know about the what went on behind the scenes. Gervinho came out and said that he said because Nasri promised he would stay, that shows that Nasri wanted to stay at Arsenal, but wasn’t convinced he was valued properly therefore he had to leave.

Arsenal should change this miserly salary to hold on to the talented players left in the squad. You can only survive in this world if you live by its rules; you cannot just invent your own rules, implement your own ideas and try to impose them on others. I am not saying that we should match Cite, Cashky or United, but we have to get closer to the current wage market otherwise we will loose more quality.

  64. Osi says:

Hi k-tr7 and rico, rico what do you think about Cahill today’s performance against Liv.?

I saw your comments last night and you seemed pissed off by the very low offer reported Arsene offered for Cahill which I thought was as irrational as Bolton’s Cahill price tag of 17ml.

  65. rico says:

Hi Osi, didn’t see the game but Bolton lost big style didn’t they?

    Was Cahill rubbish?

Players often are when they know they are leaving 😉

  66. Osi says:

K-TR7 OK. the guy is very intelligent and has a big well functioning brain, but about his feet? Does he have a greater feet more skillful in shooting, passing and dribbling than his british counterparts Defoe, Walcott etc?

  67. Osi says:

Anyway, why were you disappointed in Arsenal’s low offer 6ml, do you think that’s very low starting bid for a guy who not highly priced by the market as Bolton claims, and who’s in his final year of his contract?

Don’t you think their 17ml valuation was extreme in his case? How do you think you can negotiate with some irrational negotiators? I think Arsenal have to be as irrational as anybody else in this crazy player trading market, don’t you think?

  68. Osi says:

Rico no I am saying he was rubbish because I didn’t watch the match. In fact, I don’t know anything about the guy; never seen him play. I even thought he was the black defender in the Bolton team when I first heard his name, but my brother told me he was white so I know nothing about him.

I was just wondering if you really watched him closely enough to say it’s irrational to offer such starting bid.

  69. rico says:

He’s good Osi, the £17 million is in his get out clause in his contract, however, Bolton know that they are not going to get that when he’s in his last year of contract – not unless Citeh or the Chavs want him…

Speculation is we have offered £10 Million, but now suggestion is that Nik could be included in the deal and we’ll go back with another offer…

Whether we do, or Wenger goes for a cheaper option like Dann remains to be seen….

  70. allezkev says:

    Evening Gooners
    Evening Rico.

More good news…. Bacary Sagna has been taken ill today.
Will have a test in the morning.
Arsenal have put more youngsters on standby…

Both Oguzhan Ozyakup and Francis Coquelin are already in the squad….

  71. Osi says:

17ml valuation was about 2 or 3 years ago and it doesn’t hold anymore because you have to include the depreciation in real value each of the contract. Say, about 20% depreciation each year and come to a real value of about 40% less than what Bolton think he’s worth. Therefor, around 10ml is the right price for him. Personally, I think if Arsenal pay more than 10ml cash they’d be ripped off.

  72. Osi says:

AK that’s bad news, are you sure about that? Has Coq improved a lot from last year? Do you trust him to do a decent job in the middle?

  73. SD-London says:

Osi i am with you on this, if Cahill is that good how come they seem to concede loads of goals?

I dont rate him that much , that is why Wenger offered £6mil, but he will be a good back up.

I just think Wenger should have looked into the Italian market , they are simply the best defenders in the world-they are all averagely good.

  74. allezkev says:

    Hi Osi.
Coquelin & Ozyakup are both good players…..
Chuks Aneke could be called up?

    Frimpong pulled outta Eng U21’s

  75. Osi says:

I like Arsene to sign Totti of Roma as a year replacement for Cesc! He can transform the team and link well with VP.

  76. Osi says:

London I agree with you, we should be looking into the italian market for a really world class defender.

Kev, you must be kidding. I like aneke, he’s real quality. I trust him to play the holding mid-position. He’s strong, tackles well, drives forward and can shoot from distance which is gonna be needed On Sunday, sir Gea is not impressive when it comes to long hard shots.

  77. allezkev says:

Osi, that’s just my opinion, no info on whose been put on standby. But i’d be suprised if Chuks wasn’t one of them.
Both Chuks & Benik Afobe are going to be very big players for us over the next 18 months imho…

  78. allezkev says:

Just heard that Joel Campbell has had his application for a work permit turned down…
    Not quote me on it…..

  79. Osi says:

I haven’t watch Afobe enough to say he’d be great for future, but I know Chucks and I believe he’s better than Frimpong. He’s good passer of the ball as well. I wanted him to be part of our first team to get the experience he needs or be loaned so that he come back stronger and ready. I don’t know what’s happening really.

  80. rico says:

What do you guys make of the DvdW story, he’s in London…

    Chavs, Spuds or Us then??

agag will be pleased if it’s us 😉

  81. Osi says:

Why would he be turned down, and Ryo accepted? The guy represented his country at FIFA recognised competition which is not true of Ryo so I don’t believe that.

  82. rico says:

I think we did Kev, no doubt we’ll hear in the morning – just don’t get why he’d be turned down, he’s already playing for his country….

  83. allezkev says:

    It’s obvious why Rico…….

    Surely you know why….

    It’s because he doesn’t play for ManUre…..

  84. allezkev says:

    Osi he’s Dutch.

Actually i’m suprised he hasn’t been snapped up yet, he is very good.

Personally, i’d prefer Arsenal to sign Jan Vertonghan.

  85. allezkev says:

J.Sanderson also said Arsenal are to pay £3million for Young.
    Rising to £5million with add-ons….
    A snip in my view..

  86. Joaquim moreira says:

    Hazard no more chances ?
    Van der Wiel? not bad…
    Cahil is too expensive…
    we need more players.
I don’t understand why only after Fabregas and Nasri we are really in the market..
    still missing a left back.
    As anyone watch Valencia-Santander (4-3) ?
Merida is moving from A. Madrid to Braga

  87. Osi says:

Kev, Rico I really don’t know all these names you’re talking about; I don’t watch other European leagues. We need any good defender for to Kos/Verm as I think that pair is good enough for us. I think that we should sign another very good striker, a world class playmaker, I prefer Hazard, and another classy DM. I don’t know if M’Villa is as good as Song or better, but I would welcome him anyway.

  88. rico says:

Hi JM, we are in the market, just not getting the players we all hoped for, not yet anyway…. 🙁

But, we have a New No 9 😉

    Merida – bet he wishes he’d stayed with us….. I wish he had…. 🙁

  89. allezkev says:

Rico, i think that was what Lille were going to pay….

    Lille are very upset….
That could scupper any chance for Hazard?

  90. Osi says:

I think that Park guy is better than Bendtner and Chamack. Better than Bend because he can hold the ball, dribbles successefully, controls like VP, and has a vision; better than Chamk because he can shoot from distance, receives the ball with his back on goal, turns and shoots at goal. He can pass quicker and have better pass completion.

  91. allezkev says:

Osi, have a look on You tube, then you can have a look at a lot of these guys.
    M’Vila is really good.

  92. rico says:

Cahill, Fu Young, M’Vila, add Gervinho, Chamberlain, Jenkinson, Campbell and of course Ryo’s permit – that’;s a few players he’s signed….

I’ll need oxygen if we get the CH and Midfielder 😉

And a big spoon to eat my humble pie 😆

  93. allezkev says:

Rico, i know what you mean about height, but if Young shows the kind of enthusiasm and effort i’ve seen of him on the snippets i’ve seen, then the fans will soon warm to him, just as they have to Frim.

The fans want to see players who at least show that they care and don’t capitulate at the first sign of bad luck…

  94. Osi says:

Kev, I couldn’t find a clip of M’Villa, I tried but couldn’t. I saw him playing for France against England and another match as well and he looked composed, making simple pass, and all that, but i don’t know about his tackling abilities, and his forward passing. Anyway, I trust you if you said his good enough and if all in the media say he’s good. bring him here then.

  95. allezkev says:

Jamie Sanderson has just confirmed that Campbell has had his application rejected.
He’ll now move on loan to a club in France or Holland.
    Lorient or Feyenoord maybe?

  96. allezkev says:

Yeah Osi, M’Vila links the play beautifully, but unlike Denilson, he passes forward!
He’s quite a big lad as well. I’m sure he can put in a tackle.

  97. Osi says:

that’s sad and disgusting; it’s as if the FA are preventing Arsenal from getting to successful work permit bids. Strange standards.

  98. allezkev says:

KT, that’s right, Wengers experiment with youth floundered on the players he entrusted with it.
These new guys seem to have more resolve about them.
That’s just a hunch on my part.

  99. rico says:

I agree whole heartedly Kev, all summer i have bleated on to Will that i don’t care how much any of our signings cost, it’s what they have inside the heart and mind that counts…

No money in the world can always pay for passion…

Ok, I am sure we’d like that big signing, but if he’s like Balotelli is for Citeh, No Thanks…..

  100. Osi says:

Kev, loaning him to Lille so that we appease them and snap Hazard from that as well is a good idea. PSV is a great place and we’d get some real experience and winning mentality if they’re still interested in winning things.

  101. K-TR7 says:

AA plays wide, rosicky and jack are more like CMs in our system.Ramsey isn’t ready yet and thats been showed by how isolated rvp has been up front so far.an AM is more likely to arrive than a CM/DM.

  102. rico says:

We’ll have to disagree on Ramsey Kt, the one game that sticks with me an you know the one, he was awesome, he’ll get there agin too when his mate is back…..

RvP has been isoltaed as Wenger has played him on his own, look how much better things were on wednesday… If we get an AM – who drops to th bench and gets ‘killed’??

  103. Osi says:

Rambo is a class player and will improve. If Sagna and Wenger trust him so much that they think he can replace Cesc then I trust him as well. I like the way he keeps possession but at the moment his sharp forward passing is bit messy; he’ll get there with more games.

  104. rico says:

Ramsey was lost against Wolves, until Diaby got injured and Song came on – then we saw how good he was…..

That is because Diaby is NOT a DM…..

  105. Osi says:

Rico you’re right Rambo needs someone like song with him. Also against Udines he was bad first half while playing with 2 defensive midfielders, but when Rosicky come on he improved a lot. So he can do a good job if he plays with song and next to someone else who’s creative as well. He’s good at holding the ball and against Udines he forced so many free-kicks because of his ball skills.

  106. rico says:

I really rate Ramsey Osi, i know he has a few faults right now but he’ll show what he’s really about…..

Anyway, pillow calls me – so i’m off for the day…

You all be good, stay safe and catch you tomorrow…..

    Nighty all…..

  107. Joaquim moreira says:

We need a left back, a central back and at least two more midfield players. If not, even I really hope will be in the top of the league and go ahead in CL (our group is very difficult !,) we will be in January discussing this… again and again like last seasons when at the end, the things probably will be different witha investment in the middle of the season.
