Must win games for Arsenal if they are to finish in the top four..

Not by Rico.

The race for the top four as expected is looking likely to go into the final games of the season. Both Liverpool and Manchester City and clear with Tottenham also holding a healthy cushion at present. However with the continued injury troubles and Kane sidelined, they could end up relinquishing their advantage in the top four race. At present they remain short odds to qualify for the Champions league next season. Arsenal have been a popular selection for their Champions league qualification chances. This is no surprise following a promising first season under the new manager that has included the impressive 22 game unbeaten run, before the loss away at Southampton. Here we cover two of the must win games for Arsenal if they are to finish in those converted top four spots.

Tottenham v Arsenal – 02/03

Possibly the most important clash remaining this season in the league for Arsenal. A win over Tottenham could be huge to their chances of finishing in the top four. Both sides have made very strong starts to the season and have already faced each other on two occasions. Most recently Tottenham won 2-0 in the league cup, but Arsenal beat them 4-2 in one of the most exciting games of the Premier league season so far. Arsenal will be hopeful of taking home the three points if they can put in a similar display, but have not won away at Tottenham in the league since back in 2007.

Arsenal v Manchester United – 10/03

One week later and another very important clash as Arsenal welcome the resurgent Manchester United to the Emirates. United were really struggling under Mourinho for the first half of the season, but now look a new team. This run of form has seen them challenging for the top four spots, and at present are one of the inform sides in the Premier league. They are now a general 7/4 to finish in the Champions league spots, which puts them ahead of Arsenal who are a general 5/2. This is a game Arsenal need to win against one of their key competition and with it being played at home. They are likely to start as the favourites, but will need to improve on their performance from the last time the sides met in the FA Cup with United winning 3-1.

Over the last few years it seems that we have been able to get up for the big matches but then toss away points against lesser ones. Every game is three points and whilst there is the advantage of gaining points and the opponent losing them the need to pick up against bottom teams is just as important.
We need to get our heads together and go on another run of point collection, thenwe will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
