Mixed messages on three potential Arsenal exits. Bad news ahead of our trip to Cardiff.

Morning all.

Can you believe it, having gone three games without scoring a single goal, Sunday’s opposition finally found the back of the net last night in the League Cup. I was hoping their goal drought would last long past us going  there this weekend. But don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds as they still got thumped 3-1 by Championship club Norwich and subsequently knocked out of the first domestic cup of the season. Warnock made lots of changes to the team which has been playing in the League so clearly survival in the Premiership is top of his list of priorities. That always surprises me though as club fans love a good cup run, especially when the chances of winning anything else are slim to none.

We’re kind of in a similar situation really, this season anyway. The League title is beyond us right now, top four remains a possibility, although that’s looking unlikely unless our defending vastly improves so my guess is that Cups are our biggest hope of something silver come May. But even achieving one of those will require much better defending or a bloody miracle. None of even know yet how Unai Emery will approach the Cup competitions.

With the transfer window closed for English Priemier League club, it’s easy to forget that for European clubs, there’s a few days left yet to sign players from wherever they fancy. Aaron Ramsey could yet be sold which must be tempting considering this time next year he could be gone for nothing, Danny Welbeck and Reiss Nelson too.

There’s plenty of rumours flying around though that Aaron Ramsey has already agreed a new deal at Arsenal although there’s nothing official as yet. This all started on Twitter when the players agent Avid Sports and Entertainment Group posted: “Hoping for some big news today!” Of course that could have meant all sorts of things but 2+2=22!

In other gossip, Alexandre Lacazette is said to be looking for a way out, as were Odyssey in 1980 and they got to number six in the charts, spooky eh. This all stems from him not starting in the opening three matches which imo is poppycock. Firstly he’s already said how happy he is playing for Arsenal and secondly, there’s not a hope in hell of Arsenal sanctioning his sale when they can’t sign a replacement. More media spin and lies in attempt to upset the Arsenal applecart no doubt.

Finally it’s Reiss Nelson and there’s mixed reports on his future. Some say he’s agreed a new deal but will head off to Hoffenheim on loan for the season, others suggest he’s just heading out on loan without any new deal in place. Logic says it’s not the latter as otherwise the club would have sold him surely? If he has agreed a new deal I’d have thought he’d be better staying put and playing for the under 23’s and the first team in both Europe and the domestic cups.

Enjoy your day guys, a home draw tonight would be nice…

My device is now loading far faster and seems more secure, and I can post again! Mixed blessing???

Whatever you did or had done seems to have worked, for now at least! Thanks

Couldn’t comment for a while, seems something went wrong.

There’s a new notification system Potter, could be teething issues.

Wavy, thankfully I know a very clever guy 😜

I’m not sure that I’m right here but, there seems to be a bit of a trend emerging here. If Nelson goes to Hooffenheim, albeit on loan he will be following in the footsteps of severally of his English peers. Lookman, Reece Oxford, and I think a couple more all England u23’s. Should we read anything into these moves or should we just put them down to the need for quality playing time that is not available to them here?

If it is an attempt to sweep up our best juniors will they stay or will they go now?

High cloud here, a little sun and warming up rapidly. Is summer back?

Rico, it’s where we are, it’s where Wenger has left us, picking up scraps from the big clubs’ table and it’s not likely to change anytime soon.

Like you I’d be happy to see Yaya at Arsenal despite his big time Charlie attitude, desperate times need desperate measures and we need a presence in our midfield.

Not very impressed with the agent of Torrieira mouthing off, maybe banning him from the training ground would be a good thing.

Kev, we can only hope that in future we have a very different approach to the way we do our transfers. Wenger was known for being a tight and always after a player cheaper than they were going for. Plus, he could never make a decision after Dein left.

Me neither re the agent, what a dick.

Torriera’s agent trying to keep in with Ancellotti .Probably trying to get another deal through. Don’t trust agents in any way or form.
However still only getting on via Email, Firefox bookmark links up to yesterday’s post

    Afternoon all and thanks Rico.

Just back from the gym where I lifted my heaviest weight…………….187kg on my shoulders, not bad for 10 and half stone weakling (that`s my wifes words !)……………..not sure if a good thing though, on one hand, due to compression and gravity I am now 3 ft 6 inches tall, but on the other hand I can now get into England`s Under 5`s team after impressing in the trials…………………… I did hear Southgate remark …..” That kid with the old head on young shoulders could be something special !”

Which leads nicely to this ………………want a cheap skate Arsenal looking shirt for the kids ?………………..saw this in an ALDI brochure ……………

League Cup draw later today at 7pm, UEFA Cup draw on Friday at 1pm, two competitions we need to take seriousl, whilst the club is recovering from the last few years of dysfunctional management.

  10. Xi_gunner says:

Umm… how it the league beyond us after only 3 games played?

Did anyone think Leicester would win the league after 3 games?!

Arsenal fans need to chill the … out!

  11. rico says:

Xgunner, by apply logic I came to that conclusion. There’s too much to be done to challenge for the league in my opinion. I’d love to be wrong though.
