Mertesacker wants Ramsey replacement & Has Brenda finally made the footballing world listen?

Morning all.

You’ll have to forgive me. I once spelt the Liverpool managers name wrong in a post in error and it’s kind of stuck. Oh well, it makes me chuckle and it’s hardly offensive is it.

Anyway, as we know, his side were well and truly hard done by a couple of days ago, just as we were before them. Goals, good goals disallowed, wrong offside decisions and a penalty not given when it was clear to everyone that it should have been….

I know we have all being voicing our opinion for what seems like an eternity now about how poor many of our matches are officiated but they always fall on deaf ears. Arsene Wenger has learned that passing comment after a game on officials will only get him into hot water or he’ll just read many cruel comments from so called ‘know it alls’ who think he’s nothing but a sore loser or a constant whiner…..

But now it’s the turn of Brenda Rogers to face the FA for his comments after his sides loss to Manchester City.

However, all in a good cause I think as suddenly, Sky Sports have raised the issue over the referees and how they are selected for each match.

Maybe more people in the press/media and other places will scrutinise the performances from the officials from now on. Maybe the FA might have fallen off of their chair, stubbed their cigars out and sipped their last drop of Scotch from the bottle and thought ‘S***e, they are onto us’!!

Seriously, someone other than the ‘moaning Arsene’ and whining Arsenal fans talking about the officials has got to be good for the game….

Right, January 1st will soon be here and Per Mertesacker has spoken out:

We need the right additions. We said that a lot in the summer then Mesut Ozil came, but at this time, in a very special period that only happens in England, you need to get the right additions with players who come back from injury.

We lost Aaron Ramsey [against West Ham] so a good player is maybe out for two or three weeks, so we need the right additions now.

We have a good squad and that is going to be vital in the next couple of weeks.

When the big fella speaks Arsene it’s because he knows what he’s on about…

We are close, very close, just go and add the right players to see us go all the way…..

That’s it for another day….

All clubs have the same number of fixtures Goonster, just ours seem to be too close together, all to suit television…

  2. HenryB says:

    Morning Rico,

I used to think that Brenda was a decent bloke as PL Managers go, but I think he went too far last summer over the Suarez caper, and then when ‘Pool started to look like they were a top 4 team he became quite arrogant.

    Me no like! 🙂

  3. rico says:

Sure do goonster, anything less than 100% and we’ll struggle…

Morning Hb, I’m not a fan of him or the club but I think most know that here 😉

If I didn’t dislike Jose so much too, I’d hope for a big Chelsea victory tomorrow. A draw would be good for us…

  4. Goonster says:

Nah rico i pray poop wipe the smug of that mugmashers face. Men i hate maureen. Plus somebody’s got to smash his home record at stamford shite house.

  5. rico says:

He’s already playing mind games with the dippers saying their league calendar is easy as they aren’t in Europe – he writes us off and Chelsea so I can see why you want him beaten goonster..

For our hopes, a draw would be the best result though. Other clubs will beat Chelsea at home I’m sure..

  6. W.A.T.H says:

Can tell he’s back……………. Such a profound way with words does our Stanley… poop wipe the smug of that mugsmashers face followed by stamford shite house… Piss funny Stan…!

All the best to you for the festive season fella and congrats on the news of the baby… The mind boggles, pool little thing…………….

  7. HenryB says:

I am totally sympathetic to your view of Moaniho Goonster.

Since he returned to the Prem there has been an increasingly sour feel to the comments again. Yeuk!

  8. W.A.T.H says:

HB, Maureenyo is the biggest wind up merchant going the best thing is laugh at the little poison dwarf…! he just loves to garner attention..! Ignore the smarmy little prick..!

  9. W.A.T.H says:

Ask Rico Stan, She’ll explain to you all about poison dwarf…. It originated from the series Dallas… that little blonde bimbo got the nickname poison dwarf…! I think it suits Maureenyo very very well…!

    Morning all, Nice one Rico.
Per Merts seems to have a lot to say on who we need, I would like to see a central defender who has pace, but i know that is a bridge to far. Centre Forward is a must, We have midfielders coming out of our arse. why buy players in other positions when its as plain as the nose on your face that we need somebody that can see the goal from 30 yards, someone that can actually get the ball on target someone with pace that can fly past defenders someone that actually is a striker. Now i don’t profess to be an expert but when we see pussy foot attacking tells me we have a problem up front, sort it. Aaron Ramsey being injured for a few weeks is no reason to buy, as soon as Aaron is fit he and Wilshere will be back in the side and our new signing will be holding hands with Gnabry and Eisfield and how many more. Oxlaid Chamberlain, yeh you know the bloke i mean used to play for us, may even make an appearance when the weather brightens up. Merts should concentrate on his own game and try and find a bit of pace, or help Wenger to find a CF that can actually score goals. And for christs sake someone that can teach Czezesney how to catch, my grandchildren can catch better than him.
As for that prat Brenda let him have his little shout, as after this little spat he will be shut up like all the rest. We know the teams that will be rising up the league in this second half of the season, we see it every year, we just have to get a Centre forward that can actually score then we can combat the officials with goals, thats the only way you can combat them, score more goals than they can award Penalties.

  11. HenryB says:

    Hiya Wath,

What makes it worse is the way the media suck up to the poison dwarf.

I prefer to ignore the bar steward but when he starts the disgusting comments about Wenger being a voyeur all over again it brings out the worst in me ……. no one could print such a thing about a referee, because it would be in breach of some FA rule or other ,,,,,, but Wenger?

  12. W.A.T.H says:

I hear what you saying HB the media do indeed kiss his arse and it seems to me the more they do it the more he plays up so they get what they want, he makes headlines they sell papers… vicious circle…! He just loves to bitch and whinge and for me when he isn’t it show’s he not worried about a team so it’s a backhanded compliment in a way.

Morning SP, get some GG down ya mate makes the world a whole better looking place..!

  13. W.A.T.H says:

I think Grandad Kev had posters up of her in the spare bedroom, he always been a bit of a deviant…! She was an annoying blonde dwarf with about as much acting skills as Ashley young…!

  14. rico says:

Thanks Sp, we have many midfielders but I’s still love to see a beast in there, big strong DM who stamps his authority on matches in the way that Paddy used to..

If TV goes, AW will have little choice but to sign another CB but if he stays, I can’t see it happening unless Sagna goes and then he’ll no doubt sign a player who can play both central and on the right….

A striker is a must, just hope that AW feels the same way in a few days time…

  15. W.A.T.H says:

If we do not sign a striker for some unknown reason… At the very least we need a speedy winger who can also create AND score goals… direct and not scared to shoot r get into the box and bang in a goal or ten…! That’s the very very least we need to have any hope of mounting a serious challenge to win the league.
Am with you on that Rico, we still need a big physical lump who also quick and mobile..! Not many around though..!

  16. bonaroca says:

Through TV I watch quite a few European Football matches. What I can say that TV gives us the privileges watching what is going on in a match but also the performances on the Referees.
.My comment are simple, through the media Italian Referees were always given a bad press and at a point in time they deserved it. English referees were considered to be the best, but I can assure when I watch certain matches English referees are no better than the Italians, in fact in certain instances they are worse, an example of the Arsenal and Liverpool matches against Manchester City.
In my opinion referees should have no agent to look after their footballing business and that the board of Referees should go through every Premier League match and give the home and visiting supporters their money’s worth.
Its about time that penalties, offside rules, and red and yellow cards
are given correctly and not for that minute which could even change for the benefit of bookmakers and ghamblers

  17. tsgh says:

    Morning La Familia,

Morning Rico, good read as always not sure I agree with Mert but…

    SP1, I concur with your input on Mert’s view…

As, AW always says players always want new signings but when you as them with player or position they never say theirs…. lol

I think Scez has been excellent this season maybe only shaded by Mignolet but even he has had serious howlers so…

The striker talk has become comical now imo…

Again section of fans want an exotic striker from another completely different league and style of play who has only got half a good season under his belt, forgetting that it takes months for imports to acclimatise…

It’s also interesting how footie fans are so fickle; Poldi scores one goal and so he needs to be starter allegedly; but 45 minutes into the next match if he satrts those same fans will be calling for him to be sold in the January window

  18. BrainwashedKev says:

    Boring Boring Chelsea…,
That’s the mantra, it’ll get right up Abramovitch’s hooter and pile pressure on the Fraudulant One…

    Morning All….

    Stan, how are ya….
Mate, I did warn you to ‘keep it in your pants’ and now we are due a Stanley junior…

The question is, is the world ready for the Son of Stan…. 😛

  19. W.A.T.H says:

Not so sure about Gustavo Rico never was and can’t say I am now….!

As Ts says why are we so smitten by buying foreign strikers with big reputations who’ll take 6 months to settle in…! Why are we not looking at Remy or even Llanan or Rodrigues from Southampton…? can’t tell me those three would not do a job for us…? All 3 better than Bendy and different to Giroud..! All three prem experience as well. Buy big in the summer not in Jan, In Jan you buy sensibly…!

  20. rico says:

Me neither really Wath, had my tongue firmly in my cheek really after the stories linking him to Barca..

Sp mentioned to two Saints boys here too, Lalana has said he’s staying put though after he was linked to Man Utd..

Remy would be a good signing now he’s proved he can cope in the PL..

  21. stevepalmer1 says:

Llanna and AndrosTownsend for me fairly cheap with Premier experience fit in our team great, and mixes it up a bit,

  22. stevepalmer1 says:

A lot is down to Townsend, He hasn’t played that much, and does he see his future under Sherwood, given the amount of players they have and how many times he’s played i would be tempted.

  23. W.A.T.H says:

Townsend is the type of winger we need SP but not in a month of sabbaths with they sell to us.. Levi would be lynched…!.

  24. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t be nasty SP, Rico will have you whipped n chained up for suggesting such a swap lol

Imagine Townsend on the left and Theo on the right…! Potent…!

  25. tsgh says:

Hiya WATH, I am all up for the Saints boys…
SP1, what’s up with you and Townsend? 🙂 Don’t tell me he is an undercover gooner like his current boss?

  26. W.A.T.H says:

Ts, I think Jan buys/loans need to be sensible and whats necessary, don’t go buying from europe they take far to long to settle how ever good. Access our priorities and for me it has to be winning the league… bring in players that can make a difference and give us a chance to win the league and that has to be players already in the prem lge…!

The two saints boys, Remy and even Berbatov… yes Berbatov, can’t believe I just wrote that..! Could be a masterstroke.

  27. Gunnerdna says:

Morning rico, good post. I agree with Per, the team is in a good position to win the title we need quality additions rather than bodies, irrespective which league they play in.

  28. tsgh says:

Seriously re. Shaw.. didn’t know that… glad we stayed clear then.

WATH, I am with you on ‘local buys’- look at Fergie as an example all his big buys have been from home…
Berbatov is a lazy sod but you can see him pulling a stroke of genius against BM as an example.. games he thrives.

  29. rico says:

Morning Gdna, I agree with Merts too..

I’d still knock on Dortmunds door and see if we could get Lewandowski, I doubt he’d need time to find his feet…

  30. Joaquim Moreira says:

Our fist target will be Cabaye. Quite of sure of that.
The second, will be a central forward…
    W. Ham 1 WBA 2 (half time)

  31. W.A.T.H says:

The Lewandowski shout is still the world class striker I’d try and get Rico…! Even settling in I think he’s score us goals….!

Do you really think we need Shaw Ts…? not for me, a very good player for sure but we pretty covered there i reckon, far needier elsewhere…!

  32. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, I agree. Townsend and the others mention will sell tickets but will never win Champipnship. Reus, Schneiderlin or a better DM & Costa/Lew for me.

  33. BrainwashedKev says:

I like Shaw, the boy is quality, but the price Southampton are asking is quite inflationary and for a full-back as well…

I’d rather Wenger spent that kind of money on a more offensive player…
We have Bellerin and a couple of young lads in the U21’s/U18’s who are only a couple of years younger than Shaw, who are potentially as good…

  34. potter says:

Be careful heaping too much praise on the so far 5 minute wonder that is Townsend. Despite all the things he has done this season he is not highly rated by all of the lot up the road, except of course by Levi who will look on him as the second coming of Bale and charge accordingly. Anyway if we are to use a young winger that has ability but makes mistakes I would rather use Gnabry.
As for Maureen o , remember he greatly disliked the insult thrown at him at the Camp Nou that he was just Bobby Robson’s interpreter.

  35. W.A.T.H says:

Agree with the label on Townsend Potter although we need a player like him… he still young so gonna blow hot n cold but even at QPR he was very direct and does go at defenders…! quite 2 footed as well. Problem with any English youngster is does it all go to their head…!?!?!?

  36. NashuaGunners says:

    Good Afternoon Rico and All

Interesting Rico about the referees. It seems like the Board and there leader only practice dictatorship. ‘ Open your mouth and we will impose a find on you.’

Wath I am totally with you and T’s. We don’t have the luxury of another Six months to wait for player to jell. We do have enough qualities in the EPL if clubs are willing to sell. For Striker, I would look at Southampton and for DM, I will look at Mulumbu.

@Potter, Townsend is a good player and he would add something we being lacking on the flank. Gerv and Theo were suppose to provide that missing leak on the flank but… Even Adam Johnson can take a defender with pace, one on one and with provider like us he can find the back on the net.

  37. Adam says:

I think we should be setting our sights at top level players now. Surely the days of ‘We’ll make do’ are over. We don’t need players who will do a job, we need those that make the difference.

  38. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed Adam “but” what top players get sold in Jan…? top players are at top clubs, they want to win things they are wanted by their clubs to win things and quality top four or win trophies, many sales in Jan are way over priced and are a stop gap. I am not saying make do at all I am merely saying buy players who will make us better but they are not strictly in the world class category due to the fact they just will not be available and do we risk foreign players taking 3/4 months to settle..?

There are players around who would do a job for us in Jan til May and possibly make a huge difference. making do is not what I am getting at it’s the fact world class ain’t gonna be an option in Jan.

  39. Adam says:

Wath. I agree but cash is king and January is the time to pay through the nose. We are cash rich, let’s use it. If you have to pay millions more, then do it. It’s only going to end up in the bank or Kroenke’s pocket. I see January as an opportunity to put the Summer’s inactivity right. Not to buy a serious striker would be scandalous, especially as Giroud is Giroud. To fall away after all the good early season stuff because of financial paranoia from Wenger would be awful. Big players cost a fortune and a bit more in January. But I do see your point.

  40. W.A.T.H says:

I don’t mind paying over the odds but getting ripped off is also stupid…! Lets be honest a decent striker would give us goals, goals =wins… A Remy isn’t world class but he a bit of a poacher he would score goals for us, same goes for Rodrigues and Lallana, there are a few and for me the only player worth putting down big money for in Jan is Lewandowski….! Dortmund could be one of very few teams willing to sell a star player all other clubs with any ambition will not sell til the summer and do players want to move in Jan with the WC…?

  41. NashuaGunners says:

Hi Adam. Yes I agreed with you about qualities that are game changers, but when you factors all the But in (eg. hard tackles, the weather, pace of the game, the amount of games et al) I would rather we get someone from PL with the experience. We don’t have the time. Or are we willing to pay above the odds for players not proving in the PL.

  42. stevepalmer1 says:

Although i have to agree Wath, But money talks and its not down to the Managers decision, Most clubs Board will be looking at their positions and weigh up their clubs chances of top four or trophies, Many will be looking at the expense they have encountered and what their profit margin may be, Winter transfers for a lot of clubs could be the difference between profit and loss. My view is if you want somebody and you know they could help, offer proper money and make the owners think about it, not many players up for grabs but when the summer comes will make them realise that the offer they was offered may well not be there

  43. W.A.T.H says:

SP, Adam, I totally agree money talks and in most instances it does…. So with that scenario in mind who do you offer over the odds on…?

I say stay away from the europeans as you have no guarantee how long it will take them to settle in irrespective of how good they are….!

    So….

    Lewandowski (the exception)
    Remy
    Lallana
    Rodrigues

The three above would in my book grab us goals and are better than what we have and will get even better in an Arsenal side….

The kicker for me is this fella… How about a nice big offer for…..

    Rooney………….!!!

  44. rico says:

Rooney for me too, every day of the week…

Strikers who can’t get a game right now but who are desperate to get to the WC would surely be up for a move. There has to be a few of those around….

  45. Adam says:

I would go in massive for Costa. They don’t want to sell I know but £50 million might make them think about it and that’s where top, top strikers start these days. Not Wenger’s style though I know.
Lewandowski could be a goer although he did act like a total pratt when we played them over there.

  46. W.A.T.H says:

Is Costa that good Adam..? Banging goals in in Spain very different to banging them in in England…! Would he settle, would he score us the goals needed in 4 months to win us the league..?

  47. rico says:

I thought you would Adam 😉

I honestly believe there are strikers out there who would improve us greatly, just needs the right money offered..

  48. stevepalmer1 says:

Andy Carrol has impressed me but being injured for so long and not knowing how he comes out the other side would put me off, but i do like that battling kind of player. Arsenal in my mind is in a position where a hundred million bid would not be beyond them, Rooney or Suarez would certainly show the world of our intentions, I’m sure if one of those players were to agree supporters wouldn’t mind a no transfer window in the summer

  49. W.A.T.H says:

I think the Suarez bid is dead in the water SP, even for 60mil they’d tell us to piss off just because…!

I’d offer 35million for Rooney in a flash….! he only has 18 months left on his contract as well.

Then again I’d offer 15million for Lewandowski and 15mil signing on fee….! make him an offer that he’d want to walk to Arsenal to come play for us…!

  50. NashuaGunners says:

@Sp, hundred million for Rooney at his age?

Right now time is the essence, and if we can get someone who knows the back of the net in league, is no brainer.

  51. W.A.T.H says:

    Re Diaby : 2064 apparently JM….

Gdna… what has Cavani done the last 4/5 months…? he was good at Napoli for sure but he ain’t no Suarez…!

  52. Adam says:

Wath. You are right to point that out of course. I don’t know as much about judging a player as Wenger obviously but I have watched Costa every opportunity I have had. He is a fcuking nuisance who pisses opposition players and fans off every time I see him. But he is an excellent finisher, puts himself in where it hurts and has a real sense of desire to win. He has that habit of turning a sniff into a goal. I think the fans would love him. No guarantees but he doesn’t look like an emotional liability like Arshavin. With our midfield he could be the 25 goal plus striker that we will need to really challenge. Giroud ain’t.

  53. stevepalmer1 says:

I think that both of your suggestions are sound Wath. £30 million in the bank from CL qualification with perhaps more in the pipeline and with either player almost certain Qualification for next year as well, 🙂

  54. W.A.T.H says:

SIlly question but how old is Costa…?

Agreed Adam, none of us have the crystal ball to now who’s gonna settle quickly or not and if we honest that first half season Jan til May Arshavin was f’kin mustard…! If only…………..

Costa from what I seen is everything you say I just think in the short term would Rooney be a better option or Lewandowski or a Remy and then get Coast in the summer..?

  55. stevepalmer1 says:

Nash, I didn’t mean to offer 100 mil but i meant that if you want somebody bad enough and you offered a bid when a no is the reply i meant that we could afford to hit back with another 5 mill and push them to their limit. We should have learnt that a 40 mil bid should not be backed up by another pound.

  56. potter says:

Diame looked clumsy today , mistiming passes and tackles. Steer clear I reckon.. As for the forward , we need to set a target and go all out for him but if it doesn’t happen we need an experienced fall back like anelka perhaps still good enough to lead the line and would not expect to play every minute of every game,.

  57. NashuaGunners says:

Dzeko, ‘Now there’s another player’ and with epl experience but if only they would sell to top rival.

  58. rico says:

All goes back to offering the right money Ng. We of all fans know that when the right offer is made, a club will sell…

Man Utd won the PL because we were willing to sell…

  59. Adam says:

Hi Rico. He was shocking today. Lumbering and wasteful. Not for me although I think he had a few decent games last year when he was looking for money move.

  60. Gunnerdna says:

“Gdna… what has Cavani done the last 4/5 months…? he was good at Napoli for sure but he ain’t no Suarez.” Cavani would add more than Lew. You need to do your homework.

  61. rico says:

Gdna, Cavani has started just 17 games this season, he’s moaning about playing second fiddle to Ibra but he’s got 12 goals….

    There’s your homework 😉

  62. W.A.T.H says:

Who valeus Cavani at 55million then… I don’t need to do my homework am a bit old for all that shit…!

Cavani ain’t the answer at 5mil or 55mil… and as said he aint no Suarez…! He scoring in France and Giroud was top scorer in France and you reckon Giroud is shit….!?!?!

  63. rico says:

Nor for me Gdna, waste of money. Money we could use to get Rooney or someone much better imho..

On it’s way Wath, can you get the door please?

  64. Lee says:

Just been talking to a massive Gooner at the Ruby house, and he reckons Defoe would be a blinding stop gap until we pay BIG on a striker in the summer.

  65. W.A.T.H says:

Defoe is an Arsenal fan as well Lee, he grew up with Wrighty as his hero…! Defoe would def score goals for us…! Hate saying his name though little shit…!

  66. rico says:

Not trying to suggest that HH is up there with the best, but if this place ever gets as bad as some of the s***e I have been looking at on NN, please let me know and I’ll pull the plug on it…..

  67. rico says:

    Well that’s all pretty easy…

I used to take sweeteners in my tea and coffee but I was told by my gp to stop drinking hot drinks because I was ill.

Two months later I went back to hot drinks and sweeteners were horrid.. My taste buds had changed so much…

  68. Gunnerdna says:

LMFAO. Cavani is right up there with Rooney, Geoff Arsenal on twitter who have inside contacts at arsenal confirmed that AW did try to get Cavani for 35 mil and was outbid by PSG. There is only 1 CF in the PL who is better than Cavani and it’s Suarez, for club and Country Giroud and Defoe can lace Cavani boots.

  69. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, I’m certain Geoff has the most reliable Afc news on the net right now, it ain’t no bs, the guy have proper contacts, he is also 1 of the biggest AKB. Lol

  70. Gunnerdna says:

Cavani is a beast mate, he is the truth, he is tailored made for the PL. If Arsenal can get him for 45-50 mil it’s a steal. imo

  71. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, you probably right, but Geoff Arsenal basically confirm most news even before its on any other network. He even confirm on a podcast that Giroud was told by the training staff to stop playing like how he looks. Lol

  72. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, it’s cool the WC is next year, you can do your own scouting, I’m 100% sure he is a player AW likes.

  73. rico says:

Just watching ‘you’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off’ – Mini’s just aren’t the same these days 😉

    Love it….

  74. Gunnerdna says:

Arsenal rumoured to have bid big for a player by Twig
According to rumours on Twitter, Arsenal have reportedly bid 30 million pounds for a player today. The story originated from the trusty GeofArsenal who has got some insider information on Arsenal correct in the past. Wenger has consistently said he would bid that much if he found the right player. His comments after the Swansea game show that Arsenal is indeed looking but that he would not mention names.
So which player could it be? Wenger notoriously bids a bit less than the parent club think the player is worth. In that light, if the rumour is true, it is quite possible that the player in question could be Falcao or Cavani who could easily cost more than the 30 million pounds reportedly offered.
Looking at yesterday’s game it is clear that Arsenal sorely miss a clinical target man. Chance after chance was created by our midfielders but our strikers couldn’t score. A striker in the mould of Cavani will give Arsenal that much needed penetration and ruthlessness in front of goal. Another player that could probably need such big money investment is Fellaini. Even though Moyes has played him primarily as a forward, the player fancies his best position to be in central midfield where Arsenal need strengthening.
There have also been reports from Spain that Real Madrid are unhappy with the Argentinean star Angel Di Maria, with Jose Mourinho dropping him from the starting line up in recent weeks. However, he plays in the same position as Theo Walcott on the right.
So which big name player would you like to see? My hunch is that the player is Cavani. I honestly don’t see Madrid selling Falcao at this crucial moment of their season. A bid for Falcao is additionally likely to be unsuccessful, since Madrid can potentially get much more for him from Chelsea than Arsenal. Fingers crossed.

  75. BrainwashedKev says:

Increasing rumours that RVP is on the point of asking for a transfer…

£55M for a 30 y.o south America who will ask for at least £200k p/w? Its good we have a yank in charge of the Arsenal because that will be nearly £100M on a 3 year contract…

Hi Kev. I think I’ll pass on Bent. Adam said we should set our sight on top level players. Which by the way I tend to agreed with him. The only problem we don’t have the time for trainees to settle in the EPL. But again I might be wrong. We need players that will start jelling from day one.

    Hiya Nasher…

    I wasn’t being serious… 😀

I’m at a bit of a loss who we can actually get in January tbh…
Giroud’s confidence isn’t exactly going to be sky-high, with all the speculation either!

Morata on loan, looks to be a realistic option…
Llorente would be my choice, but I cannot see it happening.
Costa, Lewandowski, Cavani even, I’d take any of them, but I just don’t see it happening either…

Wenger has a massive decision to make this January Window…
If it goes pear-shaped, it could get messy…

    Boring Boring Chelsea btw…

    Morning all.

Doubt it that we need to buy a “Ramsey” replacement.

Wenger is consistently plugging for his “Youth Project”; with Cazorla or Wilshere or OX capable of filling the “Ramsey” role.

We have two great talents in Gnabry and Zelalem learning their trade and most likely will make a break-thru’ into senior squad next season.

Not forgetting Jon Toral, Kris Olsson and even young Dan Crowley in a few season time.

Remember 2007/08 when we topped the league and Arsene Wenger refused to buy?

I believe, Wenger will buy; but certainly not a “Ramsey” replacement.
    But who?

For today match, love to see this:

    ………………………….Szczesny

    …Sagna…….Mertesacker….Koscielny…Gibbs

    ……………..Arteta……………………Cazorla
    …………………………..Ozil

    …Walcott……………Giroud……………Poldolski

We can always rest Giroud and Ozil on 1-Jan-14 against Cardiff at home; plus also FA Cup tie against Spuds on 4-Jan?

bonaroca say: I think that Arsenal should play more direct football then all the fancy passing which is giving defenders more opportunities to close their ranks. Time and time again one sees like Arteta changing pace from left to right or otherwise giving no chance for the forwards to shoot at goal.
I am not against passing the ball intelligently, but but giving the opposition defenders the chance to close their ranks is not correct.
I agree that Mr Wenger should get at least a proven attacker, to add to the talented players who like Walcott and Pody are capable of scoring goals.
