Lincoln City defender ready to ‘smash’ Alexis! Crazy decision made ahead of FA Cup clash.

Morning all.

As we head into this quarter-final FA Cup clash against non league side Lincoln City, I’m sure there are a number of fans who couldn’t care less if we were to lose, after all, such a gigantic failure would surely see Arsene Wenger walk away, especially if a top four place eludes him and his team this season. If Stan Kroenke does only care about making money and seeing his share price grow, then the Frenchman will have failed to meet the goals which many believe are set for him at the beginning of each season. Top four, Champions League and all the riches it brings.

I’m not entirely convinced that’s the case and despite the American saying a while back that if he was at Arsenal for trophies, he wouldn’t be involved in the club, I’m sure like us, he’d love to see us being more successful on the pitch. Why? Because the further up the league we finish, the more the club earns and the further we progress in the Champions League, same, more revenue but as said the other day, any chance of winning either are long gone now.

So this is it, our last chance, albeit slim, of winning a record number of FA Cup trophies. Not today of course, but if we can beat Lincoln City, then it’s a trip to Wembley for the semi-finals. Fingers crossed Boro can cause an upset at lunchtime today and Millwall kick the living daylights out Kane and co tomorrow….

But best I don’t get ahead of myself as this group of players must be terribly low in confidence. The Lincoln City boys have nothing to lose today, we however, have everything to lose.

I know absolutely nothing about today’s opposition so I’ve nicked a few factoids from the BBC:

Lincoln City

  • Lincoln are the first non-league side to reach the last eight of the FA Cup since 1914 – when QPR (of the Southern League) were beaten at what was then called the fourth round (it was the equivalent of the quarter-finals).
  • The last non-league team to play in an FA Cup semi-final were Swindon in 1912.
  • The last time a non-league team eliminated two top-flight sides in a single FA Cup campaign was in 1914, when Millwall knocked out Chelsea and Bradford City.
  • They have lost just two of their last of their last 24 games in all competitions (W19, D3).
  • They scored with their only shot on target against Burnley in the last round.

Beating Burnley away from home was the biggest scalp they’ve taken so far but should they go away from The Emirates with an even bigger scalp taken, we’ll never ever hear the last of it. Each and every time an FA Cup fixture comes around in future, it’ll be, ‘Arsenal, who were beaten by non league side Lincoln last season………’

That’s not going to happen is it, not today. This team needs to bounce back from what really has been an awful period.

Defender Bradley Wood, whose brother is an Arsenal fan, is looking forward to facing Alexis Sanchez. He’s quoted in The mail as saying:

‘There are many ways to skin a cat and by hook or crook that’s what I’ll try to do to him. If he tries to run me in the channels then I’m smashing him. That’s not to say that I’m going to boot him 24/7 but if I manage to keep him quiet then I’ll have done a good job. It’ll be the same on the left side with Sam [Habergham and in the centre with Luke [Waterfall] and Sean [Raggett].’

‘We’re coming up against world class players who are better than us, we know that, but we’ve got a big, big heart and we’re not going to be tourists on a stadium tour,’ he adds.

‘Arsenal are going through a sticky patch, they’ve got the fans on their backs. After 20 or 30 minutes, if it’s still 0-0 or we’re 1-0 up, I’m sure those 9,000 Lincoln fans will turn into 20,000 and the longer the game goes on it’ll get worse for them. We’ve got our game plan and we know if we implement that we’ll be ok.’

That’s nice, in other words, it’s going to be a strong, physical and perhaps a dirty match. I just hope Anthony Taylor hasn’t been out on the town last night because he’ll need to be on the ball if the dirty tactics are on show.

Oh, and I hope he’s not out to get one back on the Arsenal manager after their little spat earlier on in the season. Funny how Riley has appointed him for this one though eh.

Oh well, enjoy the game. I hope to see a strong side, a top performance and of course, a resounding victory to the boys in red and white…

The future final decision must be independent of this year’s performance, even if we stay in the top 4 (preferred to stay second) and win the FA Cup.
If this were to happen, the time would not have been so bad, but this should not prevent changes, which are necessary.

This message is to all true arsenal fans that want wenger, why dont all the fans that go to the games walk out on the 20th minute ofevery game until the end of the season to let dickhead wenger and the board know we are no longer going to put up with this shit. Make sure every person brings a banner to every game, make sure that senile fucker knows we dont want him at our club and this spinless board we are not putting up with anymore shit. Come on all gunners we need to make a stance.

  3. Joseph says:

Spinless fans need to grow a set on this website, the board dont give a fuck, and senile, deluded man doesn’t care about us just his big fat pay packet, thats all he is cared about losing, its us fans that are going to have to do something. Every body that can should go to the planned protect 2nite.

    Afternoon All…

    Afternoon Rico and Adam

You know what, even if Arsenal lost to Lincoln today, that 2 year deal will remain on the table and Kroenke would want Wenger to sign it…

In fact, even if we finish outside of the top four I think things won’t change.
Wenger is stubborn enough to stay on despite all the evidence to the contrary…

I hope that Alexis starts, but Giroud would be a good fit in this game as Lincoln will have done a lot of work on dead ball situations, I’d start BFG as well as we need organisation at the back and height, not Mustafi running around like a headless chicken. I’d go with Holding alongside him as well, for a bit of Bolton trained grit…

If Arsenal can get an early goal it might knock the wind out of Lincoln…

Joseph, if you were a regular on here you’d know darn well how most of us think. perhaps then you wouldn’t make such stupid assumptions and daft comments.

There is only so much moaning about Wenger and the board one can do.

I trust you’ll be at the protest later then??

  6. rico says:

    Morning Kev.

I think a loss today and a finish outside the top 4 and he’ll walk, I really do…

Are their forwards quick? If so, Merts could find it difficult especially being his first game back…

  7. ScottfromOz says:

    Morning all.
    Joseph….FFS, wake up.
Do us all a favour and show us a selfie of you marching out at the 20th minute mark.

  8. Joseph says:

Scott fuck off. Im sick of spinless english pricks who think they are better than everyone. Get your facts right, im on reading this site every day, thats why I put a comment up cause im sick of fans on here setting for second best.

  9. allezkev says:

England vs Scotland promises to be a hell of a game today, that’ll be some achievement for Sir Eddie Jones OBE if the boys do it, 18 on the trot in the modern game would be outstanding

  10. allezkev says:

I’m sure that every true Australian and Tasmanian will be proud of Sir Eddie for such a major achievement, I think the English crowd at Twickenham should sing Waltzing Matilda in his honour…

  11. Lee says:

Joseph where exactly are you based?

You start abusing people on here that you know absolutely nothing about…..seems very strange to me!

Where abouts is your season ticket at the Emirates?

Or are you an armchair keyboard fucktard???

  12. Joseph says:

Never you worry lee you prick, your probably so far up wenger arse, your tasting shit. Brains of britain, from ireland lee, the only country that show passion.

  13. rico says:

Joseph, the one good thing about being the admin of ones own website, I have the last word.

So I’m afraid it’s you who can take a long run off a short pier…

In other words -you can fook off…..

  14. rico says:

And I need to get the grass cut before England ko…

Scott/Lee, hope you can get over the abuse from Joseph. What a chump….. 😉 😉

  15. Mabo says:

Even the guys who I don’t share a view with I cannot curse them or call them names. Name calling is childish and I believe everyone’s view is informed by the love and passion for the Arsenal. For now the elephant in the room has ruined Arsenal and we fans need to pull to one side and rescue the club we all clearly love.

I always wish Arsenal win and even today I truly and honestly wish Wenger goes end of season but I guess that will take a calamity. God help us. #COYG

  16. Le Coq Monster says:

Afternoon all and thanks Joseph for the entertainment !…………………………..I reckon Scott is off seeking some therapy for the abuse he got of being called English ! hahaha

Thanks Rico, should be a comfortable walk in the park, one team is top of their league and unbeaten in ten games and the other is Arsenal.

  17. micko says:

Well he had Lee down to a fine tee, he’s always blowing smoke up Arsene’s arse !

Call it blind faith but I think we can do this today.

  18. micko says:

rico, not making excuses for Arsene but in his defence there’s been way too much emphasis on us actually sticking the back in the net over the last few years now.

I’m going for 6 nil today.

  19. Joaquim Moreira says:

What is Ramsey doing on the pitch?
Against Lincoln we play only with Giroud in the area, between 4 defenses?
    Two yellow cards !!!!
    What happened to Ox?

  20. potter says:

Michael Oliver for the cards, a little bias there. We need to press quicker and we should overrun them..Subs should now be to protect against reds.

  21. Wavy says:

Their 12th man is having a stormer, just wait until he gets the opportunity to award Lincoln a penalty, and I don’t mean after extra time! This, for Taylor is a revenge fixture, he could actually contribute to getting the old one the sack! What a prospect?

  22. micko says:

Nice to put that one to bed in the 90 minutes, now we can concentrate on closing the 16 point gap on Chelsea !

  23. ScottfromOz says:

    Morning all.
    Joseph, please come back lol
    He’s a fiery lad bahahahaha
Seriously, I’ve seen a few entertaining first days from people in here, but he wins by a mile.
    Brilliant stuff!!!
LC, maybe my user name confused him and he thought I was mates with Dorothy 🙂 🙂
    5-0……so it should have been.
Let’s hope we go on and win the thing.

  24. frednerk says:

    Evening Rico and All
Not to sure why he played the strongest side
he could, until the game started..We are a One Half Team.
    Watching The Arsenal now.
Is like looking forward to your favourite meal and it
    tasting like a school dinner.

  25. ScottfromOz says:

Ps, I’m so glad to be spinless this morning, as I had a thousand beers last night and I dare say any rotation at all would have me feeling rather dodgy.
And as for you lot, fancy encouraging the poor lad 🙂 🙂

  26. Wath says:

Well least we all know we getting those vermin cnuts in the semi…. I miss a few hours and some fella telling Scott to fuck off…. Now i know for a fact if Scott had not been chasing sheep he’d of responded but then again we have one of Micko’s mates drinking far to much of the black stuff telling us all from his pc what we should all do or not do as a great season ticket holder that he obviously is…. couldn’t make it up…! what a bell end…! Lee ya gobshite, are you buying…?

I have already identified a few establishments for an ale on semi final day… who needs a tkt, bollox to that, nice day out v the swampies

  27. Wath says:

I think after 2moro Fred they could be banned lol……….. Always fun sharing a pint with them as well but not as personal as the vermin…!

  28. micko says:

Wath, who’s to say a football match won’t break out, stranger things have happened !
No Terry Hurlock, think the scum will start as favourites.

    Nite Gooners.

  29. Wath says:

If Graham Roberts was playing against Hurlock now that would be fun…! I reckon Jimmy Carter will nick a winner in the last minute for the Wall………….. I can but dream..!

Scott, only once a day, you must see how many Rico and I have to keep in moderation….. 😉

  30. Mabo says:

Nice end to the game. We alright Gunners. But can someone tells me what goes on at Ooh to be a gunner and Gooners Den? Their headlines are click bait and they always writing bollocks.

  31. frednerk says:

    Morning Rico and All
Me and my brother have been to the den
a couple of times this season. It ain’t changed.
    The fans are still nut-nut’s
Woud’nt it be great if Harry Donavan came on
and scored the winner for the Lion’s.
