Let's start 2012 how we mean to carry on! This could yet be our title to lose…..

That all might sound a bit optimistic but finally other clubs at the top are starting to drop points, just like they did last season.

It was around this time last year that we were sitting in a healthy position near the top of the league, and funny enough with exactly the same number of points and we really had a good chance to win the Premier League.

Maybe it was our best chance for a few seasons to win the PL but a string of bore draws both home and away, finished with a couple of home defeats saw our chance blown and we just about scraped in at number four in the end.

Well, this weekends results saw both Manchester sides drop three points, as did Chelsea and the noisy neighbours dropped two points away at Swansea – all four fixtures were ‘stone wall’ victories for the top sides if you had asked anyone before the games.

With the losses, clubs are starting to pick up injuries too, Chelsea have three or four who picked up knocks in their defeat, Scott Parker was reported to be injured for the neighbours and Manchester United have Smalling added to an already long injury list.

Welcome to our world eh?

As theirs arrive though, ours will hopefully soon start to return and with just two or three tweaks in this window, we really could take advantage, however, we need to really step our game up and work a lot harder if we are going to give ourselves a chance. Suddenly we are only three points behind Tottenham and nine points off the top and anything could yet happen, there is a long way to go and we still have to play the current top three at home!

Players like Walcott and Gervinho need to start burying their chances when golden opportunities are presented to them, Arshavin needs to get his head up and start being proud again to be playing for such a prestige club! Song needs to get back to what he was doing just weeks ago and protect the back four and ditch his sloppy passing and Johan Djourou really needs to wake up at right back!

That’s naming just a few but they are the few who can do better, we know that because we have witnessed it, players don’t become poor overnight, but attitudes can and if Theo thinks he is worth £85K a week then it’s about time he showed why and if he thinks he’s a central striker, then the same applies, get on and show why, not keep fluffing his lines.

My point:

This title is far from over, nor is it about two teams in Manchester battling it out to win the Premier League, we could still have a big part to play and a huge say in who wins this league in 2012. With the right attitude, the right couple of signings in the next few days, it could actually be ours but only if we step up and play with pride and stop dropping silly points, especially at home!

On to today’s 5.30pm kick off, the last fixture of the festive season busy schedule – we travel just across town against a Fulham side who huffed and puffed and wouldn’t let us break them down just a few weeks ago at The Emirates. Well I hope Arsene Wenger has learned from that game as I am sure Martin Jol will play with similar tactics as he did then so it’s down to us to change ours so we can get the breakthrough and more than just one!

If it’s not working, change it Arsene – don’t just bring on Chamakh and Arshavin at the usual time and hope, it doesn’t work!

A win today will draw us level on points with that lot down the road and just six points off the top and that in itself should be motivation enough, if it’s not then nothing ever will be for some of our players. Win it and win it well, keep building our confidence and carry on creeping up the table quietly!

Whilst teams around us are losing points, we need to make sure that we don’t lose ours…..

No resting Robin either, he can have a sit down after the whistle goes, Fulham will be a tough nut to crack, but crack them we must otherwise we gain nothing from this last weekend….

We left 2011 with a victory, let’s start 2012 with another…..

Have a good day all…..

Hello everyone! I fear for today. I don’t think we will lose, but I sure am afraid that we won’t win either. I don’t think that Fulham will park the bus. They have to play more open at home, at that could be our chance. Just no more 4-3-3 please mr. Wenger.

  2. rico says:

    Morning all,

I am going for an away victory today and a comprehensive one at thta, RvP will start scoring freely as the pressure is off….

  3. rico says:

ADK, the reason i think they will park the bus is RvP, if he starts, they will be having a worry – we need Theo to find his form and Gerv to cause all sorts of problems on the left….

Both the latter owe us some goals and todays the day… 🙂

Monica, that was a shocker from Theo…

  4. stevepalmer1 says:

Rico, you have done it again, another rousing post, and i couldn’t agree more. You have pointed out the weaknesses and i have to say some of them have been quite shocking, I look at the table and keep scratching my head, I keep asking myself how we are this close to the top with some of the displays i have witnessed, all i can say is that the teams above us, are not as wonderfull as the press and media have hyped them up to be. As you rightly said, some of our players haven’t been working hard enough, i would have used more colourfull language but as you say they have to buck their idea’s up. I read in another blog this morning that Chelski are thinking of offering 30 mill for Theo, allthough he has shown one or two touches, i would grab that with both hands, after seeing a man that does nothing but shout about what a good central forward he is and then miss the target when clean through from ten yards has just about worn my Patience away 30 million grab that and buy a proper striker, great post and keep doing what you do best:)

  5. ArsenalDK says:

Then he can make room for the others rico 🙂

Gervinho has to start showing more composure, he really is a terrible finisher, but still creates a lot of chances though :).

Too bad Henry can’t play! And the game is on danish television, so i’m gonna enjoy my evening 🙂

  6. John says:

Title fight indeed far from over; I expect we’ll have overtaken the Spuds by the end of Jan, Manu mid March and when it all goes our way, and why shouldn’t it for a change, citeh last day of the season. Yihaa!!

  7. rico says:

    Morning Steve, thanks 🙂

I’m not sure how we are 4th either, a bit of well overdue lady luck maybe but….

Had we not blown the points against Fulham and Wolves, we’d be ahead of the totts and just five off the top..

We need to stop the draws, especially at home and part of me blames Wenger for them – he is reluctant to change ideas during a game, the same boring subs at the same crazy times in a game…

When the likes of Theo and Arshavin are playing badly, get them off early and bring on Yossi, The Ox or someone who cares and will give a performance…

And, get on a buy one or two fresh faces and stop being so bloody tight….

£30M for Walcott, even i’d have to think hard on that one 😉

  8. Erick says:

    Morning all

Great post Rico, we have had the Theo conversation before and 30 million is way too much fro him agree with Steve and ADK take that cash and reinvest

  9. ArsenalDK says:

I just read this on arsenal.com rico: “Thierry Henry will not be part of the squad as his loan deal is yet to be rubber-stamped.”

  10. rico says:

John – as the old expression goes, look after the pennies as the pounds will look after themselves…

We need to beat the clubs below us first, build the confidence and then when the ‘big clubs’ come to The Ems, we’ll be in a better frame of mind to beat them…

Today is a prime example, Fulham are a side we should be battering….

  11. rico says:

Howdy Erick, thanks – but would Wenger re-invest, he’d probably bank the money and play The Ox….

I din’t see that ADK, thanks, i guess it can’t be rubber stamped until the FA return to work tomorrow…. shame…

I hope Park is on the bench today, and Ryo…

  12. stevepalmer1 says:

Talking with one or two of the fans on Saturday, and one of them reckons that the twelve mill we spent on the Ox came with add ons, he reckons that his old club may of got payments for every goal scored in 2011 if thats true maybe he’ll start tonight, My God he couldn’t do any worse than Arshavin could he.

  13. rico says:

😆 Steve – so that’s why Wenger hasn’t played him much, the tight git!!

Also, Wenger did an article on afc.com suggesting that 2012 would see him get more playing time….

Wonder what is in Parks contract, maybe his country don’t want to him to be injured so that he can’t do his national service in two years!! 😉

  14. alan b'stard M P says:

    Hi everybody

If we are true to form we will start drawing games towards season’s end

Hopefully, a change this year. If we won last week, it would have been better still

bad luck for our competitors 2 weeks running. That is as rare as rocking horse shit

    We got to keep winning

  15. Julius says:

Arteta said yesterday that he’s glad the pressure off now that Van persie’s record chasing is gone! It seems the players know that van was trying hard hence the spunning of chances in the last few games! I just hope today he will relaxed

On gervinho, I think he has the potential of becoming a wonderful footballer but his lack of composure infront of goal will cost us dear! He cost us points at the begining of the season with his selfishness and lack of composure! I hope he learns quickly because he has pace and trickery that we need! Same applies to Theo

  16. Erick says:

    Have a good day Steve

ADK am on about the speed boat called Theo all speed no footballing brain

Your welcome Rico, Park must be relishing it am sure he can’t do worse than AA and Theo

  17. Erick says:

Have a good feeling about today too, Frimpong will do us a favour GOONER

Morning Alan, we need other people to start scoring

  18. rico says:

Welcome Julius, I think Arteta is right, we need to play RvP tonight and then he can have a rest for the FA Cup match if he really needs it….

Theo and Gerv snatched their shots against qpr, those kind of golden chances have to start going in – i wonder how much henry being in the crowd affected theo??

  19. rico says:

Or Chamakh Erick, i hope he’s already on the plane to the ACON’s…

Frimps v the Chavs isn’t it, let’s hope he scores a couple and injures a couple 😉 (fairly of course)

  20. elkieno says:

Did anyone see all The stupid backheels and trick passes Ramsey did that didnt come off and actually gave possession away? Thought that happened too many times during that game. A better club would make use of that and that’s how we drop points. The wolves game we drew cos of not clearing the area leading to their deflected goal. In fact even tho we have ‘fixed’ the defense, we still concede silly goals. So it’s not a hard thing to identify and fix surely. Also when a team we playing smell blood they keep pushing for it, we need to be able to stop their momentum from picking up early, then get the ball back and keep it by not trying silly flicks, turns and end up giving ball back to them… Stupid Sydney summer only starts to get warm at the end of my hols!!!
Got a baby Gooner due in Feb and what a gift winning something would be, I promise I will be a good man Football gods just give us some luck that the others get please…

  21. ArsenalDK says:

Oh, now I understand :). I’m still a big fan of Theo, and i really hope, we will be delivering soon. But as you say.. He lacks the intelligence, dribbling and composure.. Thank Wenger, for not buying A. Young this summer…

  22. rico says:

    Hi elkeino..

It’s a hard one on ramesy, I think he tries the flicks as his options are limited, when they come off, great, when they don’t, he looks silly – same can be said for Song sometimes…

I blame the lack of movement off the ball, the front players need to give the midfield more options but then Wenger sticks to the same old tactics, he should be changing things during a game and not be sat on his butt doing little…..

I’m not convinced our defence is sorted out, would still love us to sign Cahill or Samba and Vertonghen.

All the best for Feb 🙂

  23. Erick says:

Alan am sure the Ox will get Theo sitted on the Bench, Ramsey and Song should go slow on the tricks they are good when we are leading by 6 goals

I also wanted to see Ashley young with us but he has been poor for united and we never have anybody in the box for the crosses.

Kos will be a legend best player after RVP and may be TV

  24. rico says:

Young started well Erick but he’s faded and now injured, he should have joined us, maybe he’s regretting it 😉

We need a few more Kos signings….

My money is on Chamberlain starting tonight….

  25. gunnerpete says:

Nice to see some motivation from you….we old AKB crew forcasted exactly this senario and were crucified by the knockers. Again I will repeat what I said after the first 6 games..’ Dont write AFC and AW off until we have a full squad or near it to pick from’. We still dont have anywhere near afull squad and AW has plonked us in the top four? Now I pray that he buys a Podolsky or Huntellar type goal scorer and plays young Miqel at left back until Gibbs is back.

My special deal of the year would be if AW calls Theos bluff and swaps him for Johnson of City…a better alround player with a brain.

My second New Years wish is to see a massive cut price sale of players who should never still be paid by AFC ie; Almunia, Squillaci, Denilson, Bentner, Eastmond, Arsharvin, and 80% of the players on loan in Spain…….the money in and wages saved would buy a couple of top players in June.

    Happy New Year All.

  26. DutchGooner10 says:

Walcott considers his left leg as a crutch for his right. His football brain is obstructed by concious switching between creativity/composure and maintaining balance/stability. There’s no seamless transition in his technique making him predictable and wasteful when there’s time to burn. Intuitive play raises his game substantially, he tries to hard to wrap his mind around the difference. Control becomes agonizing.

  27. rico says:

    Hi DG10

Seems most have lost all patience with Theo, TH12 may just be able to teach him a thing or two in the next couple of months, persoanlly i hope he signs a new contract and stays becuase I fear under a different manager he would become a very different player.

Still think we should move him central, give him a few games and see what happens, he may just get more composed and start scoring goals….

  28. DutchGooner10 says:

    Hi Rico,

Wenger will crunch the numbers for his position.More assists than game breaker goals. Titty may well be the spark to ignite his true potential. Switching off his thinking cap to knockout the struggle.

Patience has been put to the sword by Walcott claiming he can provide threat at the tip of the Speer. Still hope he signs on the dotted line though.

  29. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners.
    Afternoon Rico, great post btw.

Gary Ablett, 46, what a shock. That is no age at all.

  30. rico says:

Time will tell with Theo, let him sign and then see, just still think there is a quality footballer in him somewhere, he shows glimpses but lacks consistancy…

I hope he signs to DG10….

alan, fergie would get more from him 😉

  31. allezkev says:

The questions i keep asking myself is:

Does Wenger risk Robin Van Persie only 50 hours after the QPR game?

    Or

Does Wenger Give Chamakh a start, with the prospect of RVP coming on, if need be, if we need a winner???

  32. allezkev says:

Does Wenger rotate today and in ‘what’ way does he rotate?

He’ll know who suffering from fatigue from what he sees on the training pitch.

    Plus from his GPS.

Personally i’d like to see Oxlade-Chamberlain starting instead of Theo, who may not be totally over his illness..!

  33. rico says:

Saying he’s a shadow of the palyer he was with us 😛

No resting RvP, he can have two weeks off after todays game 😉

  34. allezkev says:

I think that Ashley Young wanted to come to Arsenal.
He had a great game against a very poor AFC team, but since has gone into his shell a bit.

    Has he been injured Rico?

  35. ArsenalDK says:

Does anyone know whats happening to Diaby? Wenger said back in November that it’ll be 10 days before he returns, but it’s been what? 6 weeks? I really love the guy as a player. I can’t help but think how good he would have been today, if it weren’t for his injuries…

  36. allezkev says:

With the top six all dropping points with abandon, a winning run of 5 or 6 games could see Arsenal into the top six.

    The alternative isn’t worth considering.

    COYG.

  37. allezkev says:

If i recall, awhile back, a deal to let Squillaci join West Ham on loan was scuppered as Arsenal seemed to have a permanant sale in the pipeline…

Hopefully the conclusion to his unhappy spell at Arsenal will soon come to an end.
    With Vertonghen replacing him…..

  38. W.A.T.H says:

    Afternoon all,
RIP Gary Ablett….. Another one lost to that f’kin horrible disease.

IF anyone offered us 30mil for Theo I’d rip their arm off and say thank you very much but as a few of you have said already how much would arsene scrooge re-invest in a quality player or two…?

  39. ArsenalDK says:

AK, he said the same thing on november 28th. Speaking ahead of the match on November 28, Arsene Wenger said: “It is a slight muscular problem, he’ll be out for around 10 days.”

I’m confused. It frustrates me that he’s injured, but even more, that Wenger is hiding it.,.

  40. allezkev says:

    ADK, i know, i know.
Wenger was the same with Rosicky and to a certain degree with RVP.
It drives us potty, but who knows???
One day Diaby might play a full season and be great….

    Then again!

    Afternoon Wath. You confident?

I’m tending towards another draw sadly.

  41. ArsenalDK says:

Diaby for a whole season? Maybe if he watches the season from his couch. Then again, he might slip over his carpet and twist his ankle 😉

  42. allezkev says:

Well, if the rumours of Wenger being prepared to sell Theo last summer, then who knows?

Not sure i believe a bit of £30million though.

  43. W.A.T.H says:

AK, depends on who he picks mate, a few still leave me wondering how they still get to pull on an Arsenal shirt and thats the worry…! Fulham will not be easy thats for sure.

Diaby a full season…..? of what cleaning boots…? helping out the groundsman…?

How much money have we wasted on him in salary alone to give us what 5 games a season…? he isn’t the only one either

  44. devilgunner says:

Good afternoon Guys and Chicks of the Gunners’ Faith.

Just a short break for me and the first thing I do???? Yep right. HH for me.

Hiya AK. did you have a good night??? Diaby for a whole season??? Hmmmmmmm. We all would like that but if that happens its possible that we find AGAG to be Lady GAGA in person. On the other hand nothing surprises me in this world.

RIP Gary Ablett. And still 46 too. what a pity.

Regarding Theo I seem to be confused. 30 million would be too good to turn down on anyone of Theo’s ability. On the other hand if it is not reinvested into the team (albeit in other positions seeing that OX will take his place) and Theo flourishes somewhere else then I am not sure he should be allowed to leave.

  45. ArsenalDK says:

I think, this is Diabys last chance.. Either deliver and stay free of injury on a regular basis, or go. But then again. What would we have done now, if we had sold Robin, when he was injured?

  46. allezkev says:

ADK, from what i’ve heard, Diaby is one of Wenger’s favourites, so i’ve gotta say that i doubt that Wenger will get rid of him.

Could be a case of him running down his contract and buggering off, probably when he’s fit…

Hiya DG. I’m off down the gym in awhile.
    You got a game today?

  47. devilgunner says:

Nope mate. Its training for me. Off now again. See you later today mates. Maybe the 2nd half of the game.

  48. rico says:

Afternoon guys and gals, what horrid weather here in the UK, one minute beautiful sunshine whilst on the walk with Fido, the next the heavens opened and guess who didn’t hava brolly 😛 😛

  49. rico says:

    0-0 Wolves v the Chavs …..

    Swansea ar beatung Villa

    Stoke 2-0 against Blackburn

    QPR 1-1 Norwich….

Bartley’s Rangers are 1-0 up – that’s it, you don’t need to check on the scores now 😉

  50. rico says:

NN’s stories are funny, one reads: Podolski set for Arsenal Medical,

The next headline is: Podolski rules out switch…..

And people say my headlines are misleading, pfff 😉

  51. goonster says:

Just saw it too Rico. At first I got excited only to be brought down to earth. What losers run that site? Grrrrr stop playing with our emotions already.

  52. rico says:

It’s not NN’s fault goonster, they are just the messenger, but the articles are only based on what people/reporters hear – it’s just fun most of the time….

  53. agirlagunner says:

A really good post, rico. 🙂 Where exactly did you walk the woofa to?? 😛

While we can be rightly proud of our turnaround this season, other players need to share in the coring load. Robin has been stellar, but if he has an off game, we need to be getting the results through the other players.

We have to make the results over the weekend count and win again today!

Theo and AA are capable of the sublime but put that on show so sporadically. 🙁 Shame really, one runs and runs pointlessly, one hardly breaks into a trot. 😉

Hi, goonster. I hope you are lucid and fully recovered from your New Year celebrations. 😀 Hello, JM. Good to hear about Pingpong!

  54. rico says:

Rumours are we have offered a contract to Leeds Aidan ‘Aidy’ Peter White of Leeds….

He’s a pacey 20 year old who can play LB and LW

  55. rico says:

That’s good to hear JM, just glad it looks like he’s going to get plenty of playing time…..

Hi agag, thanks re the post, took the woofa to a local park area today, she loves the ball and spends 40 mins chasing it for fun – now she sleeps 🙂

Frimpong is now off, Sky suggest he has had a very difficult game, idiots!!

  56. goonster says:

Still don’t get the logic behind releasing him Rico. I have seen him a few times for Celtics. He looks the part. Oh well like they say arsene knows best.

  57. rico says:

    agag says:

Theo and AA are capable of the sublime but put that on show so sporadically. 🙁 Shame really, one runs and runs pointlessly, one hardly breaks into a trot. 😉

That is so spot on and bloomin funny……

  58. Joaquim Moreira says:

Poborsky decide his futir only next summer.
Fripong is not linking yet with the team. The replace it’s because now the score is 0-1, a defeat.

  59. goonster says:

The leeds dude Rico, is he any good? Would rather have him than Wayne bridge. Can never forget that fugly faced bastard for dumping out of Europe. screw it bring on the leeds kid instead.

  60. rico says:

goonster, i wouldn’t agree with the arsene knows best bit, if he did, why does he keep players that are crap and doesn’t buy players we need??

  61. goonster says:

Beats me Rico…I still wonder why we still have mugs like almunia squillaci and jd on our books. Kick them all out I say….arsene knows best? Pfft more like he knows diddly squat!

  62. rico says:

Many fans want to keep JD goonster….. I would if he was the 5th choice…

Chucks has been sent off for Stevenage, where’s AK, he won’t be happy 🙁

  63. agirlagunner says:

Hello, friends. It would be for the best if we were to offload D&D, Nik, Almunia, Squilli, et al. Imagine how much funds would be freed up!!

RvP is class, rico. He always makes it a point to recognize his teammates. For all the clangrs he has dropped, can’t say I have anything to complain about re: Almunia’s behavior. He hasn’t mouthed off like Bendy or Denilson, for instance.

goonster, you’re back on the juice but go easy on it. 😉

    JM, what about Poborsky?

  64. goonster says:

Now you are speaking my language jm. Granero is class but I ll rather have gourcuff. Hiya AK any insights in the leeds kid? He’s pacy and can play both LB and LF you say? Sign him up pronto.

  65. allezkev says:

    Sorry Stan, i know nuffing…. 😉

But Leeds players are usually well schooled, so he sounds promising.

Although i thought we was looking at the young Southampton left-back?

  66. agirlagunner says:

Hello, (S)AK. 😉 Howdy? Definitely NOT Lady Gaga; but I think she’s great fun. 🙂

We complain about AA but, Torres is a shadow of himself.

  67. rico says:

    Team in full:

Szczesny, Djourou, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Coquelin, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Walcott, Gervinho, Van Persie.

    Substitutes:

Almunia, Squillaci, Miquel, Rosicky, Benayoun, Arshavin, Chamakh.

  68. rico says:

Torres needs to join a proper club agag 😉

AK, Chamberlain has to be injured or poorly….

Almunia and Squilli on the bench, what a joke!!

  69. agirlagunner says:

Goody. AW you show ’em! I agree it’s the best squad we can put out, AK. (not much choice on the bench, really. 😀 )

I’ll spearhead his welcome committee, rico. 😳

  70. allezkev says:

Rico, i just feel it’s gonna be another frustrating draw.

Hope i’m wrong, and the away team wins again… 🙂

  71. allezkev says:

I can only think that the reason that Squillaci is on the bench, is because either Kozzer or BFG are carrying a slight injury?!

  72. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all,
A nice friendly game, smiles and laughter before kick off, i say get the three points then i can smile and have a laugh as well COYG

  73. devilgunner says:

Having watched the development of both Frimpong and Coquelin with interest this season I have to say that both are stone wall first team material and there is no need to buy. If I have to pass judgement I’d say that Coquelin is a bit ahead interms of skill and tactical nous plus football development. But I can safely say that should I be instead of AW and be given a substantial sum for Song then I would surely consider it. Both are, IMHO, better midfielder than Song. However if Song drops in the defence and plays as a centreback than I see no problem in keeping him.

Whhhhhaaaaaattttttt no penalty???? Senderos took off Gerv’s foot.

  74. devilgunner says:

Imagine having these players all fit for the defence…..Sagna, Jenkinson, Santos, Djourou, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Song, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Miguel.

That’s ten players. Cannot see AW buying anyone. Where would Vertonghen fit in???

Now this lot for the three centre midfield spots….Frimpong, Coquelin, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey. You might say Diaby??? I would say no. He is too much injured. So a new one must be bought in.

In attack??? No comments from me. It is all too much evident that we need new faces.

Today RVP and Gervinho are on fire already. Walcott is invisible.

    KOOOOOZZZZZZZZEERRRRRRRR 1-0

  75. devilgunner says:

Kozzer is having a super game. He was playing in the centreforward position when he scored. It did not come from a set piece but from build up play. He is growing in confidemce as the season goes by. I would say he is fast becoming a dominant figure for the team and one who should’nt be left out. The horror against Birmingham??? A far away memory already.

  76. devilgunner says:

The calming influence of BFG is evident. Having a rock in goal and another rock in defence helps the team confidence wise. This enables them to go forward more with swagger and assuredness. I would say we do need another rock in centremidfield and the team is already there.

BDW, AK, I have applied the first white spray coat today.

  77. allezkev says:

Don’t think we can defend a 1-0 lead.

    Definately need another goal.

BBC report that Arsenal say that TH12 deal should be completed during the next 24 hours

  78. devilgunner says:

Half time 1-0. In reality it should have been 3-0 at least since we hit the post and should have had a penalty. If we play like this all season we will be there or thereabouts. But we need to be more clinical.

  79. goonster says:

Coquelin is something else….has his contract been extended? We can’t afford to lose him. What a player and he can only improve.

  80. rico says:

Esp, you could say the same about Gerv?

Ramsey is having a great game but for me the stand out is Coq at Lb – Song is also playing well….

  81. stevepalmer1 says:

Theo needs a kick in the head Just to shake his brain up, it must be in the wrong place.I think it should be in the Kings road

  82. rico says:

Half the prob with Theo is we don’t play the ball quick enough to him, he then comes back to get it and the attack has gone….

Wow, Gary Neville says we should have had the penalty on Gerv….

  83. allezkev says:

TBh, i don’t think we’ll realise what an influence BFG is, until he has a spell out of the side.

  84. rico says:

On a side note – have you guys been reading Graham Poll’s articles in The Daily Mail?

    Makes good reading….

  85. EastSidePaul says:

Everyone knows where I stand with Gervinho, you get what you pay for, and we bought the cheap option.

Hopefully have a better second half, is Ox injured?!

  86. devilgunner says:

Nah mates. For me the one who is having the best game of the lot is Kozzer. Followed closely by Coquelin and Ramsey.

  87. devilgunner says:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Djourou, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Coquelin, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Ramsey, Gervinho, van Persie. Subs: Almunia, Rosicky, Squillaci, Arshavin, Chamakh, Benayoun, Miquel.

  88. devilgunner says:

We are a bit under pressure. Theo off and Rosicky in. Hope we play 11 vs 11 now. Theo was somewhere else today.

  89. devilgunner says:

Benny is coming on. I guess its on for Gervinho. The latter has disappeared a bit now. I still think that altough his finishing is atrocious his team play is terrific. He does work for all the team.

  90. allezkev says:

    No pace up front.

Now Fulham can push right up on us.

Meanwhile Oxlade-Chamberlain is sitting at home.

    Very smart Arsene!

  91. devilgunner says:

Djourou sent off. 2nd yellow. Great now we play with 10. That goes to 4-4-1 now. Another full back option gone.

  92. allezkev says:

Djourou is carrying a groin strain.

Maybe Wenger should have taken him off.

Miquel, with Coq switched to right-back.

    Too late now….

  93. devilgunner says:

The moment he pulled the fulham player down he signed his death warrant. what we did not need. Now its Squilly for Ramsey. HOOORRRROOOOOOORRRRRRRR. Why not Miguel???

  94. devilgunner says:

I would have put on Miguel at left back and Coquelin on the right. But no, what does AW do??? put Kozzer on the right and Squilly in the centre.

  95. allezkev says:

Great substitutions again by Le Genius……

Crap choice of substitutes again by LeGenius….

    Why no Ox……???????????????????????????????????????

  96. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Stupid AW !
The same team in four games!
    The subs very old!
He only needs fresh players for win the game!

  97. EastSidePaul says:

Its unbelievable Arsenal don’t even send me a cheque every week, i sat here and said, oh Miguel should come on now.. but no.. They give Wenger 6mil a year to but on one of his many nobodies to cost us the game.

    RVP should leave.

  98. devilgunner says:

some of the substitutions AW makes defy belief. Does anyone think that Squilly is better than Miguel??? Even Coquelin had a great game today. But no. Squilly is put on and the game is totally fucked up by someone who should know better and is paid millions to know better.

  99. Joaquim Moreira says:

we don’t attack in the second half because we are tired. I can’t understand. He didn’t read the matches of the others teams? Benayoun was not in thr epitch. Rosicky try but can’t. We had played with 8-9 men after the sent off

  100. stevepalmer1 says:

    Thanks Devil,

I don’t think i have seen a more one sided ref all season but we played straight into their hands, over and over they moved the ball from their own box without one tackle from our boys they just stood off them all the time we were a bloody disgrace out there. Czezsney again showed his imaturity by slapping the ball instead of catching but a very bad second half display.

  101. rockyrocastle07 says:

was that cockend Squllaci brought on as a right back? because every time they went marauding down that side, Rosicky was on his own, with that dipshit Squillaci in the middle, basically on top of Merts. Why is he still employed by Arsenal? JD can do one as well. Dick.

  102. devilgunner says:

No ESP. half of the Manure team are also crap. Put our lot in charge of a Ferguson/Mourinho/Graham type of coach and he will beat the shit out of them and teach them how to defend. Man for man ours are better footballers, but some of the tactical defending and the substitutions are pathetic. If my players defended that corner like that I would have been livid.

  103. allezkev says:

JM, when Djourou aggravated his groin, and then got his first booking, Wenger should have been proactive and taken him off.

But as DG says, i was amazed that Coq didn’t switch to right-back where the fulham threat was coming from, and brought Miquel on at left-back.

BUT why not have Ox on the bench, so he could replace Gerv?

Typical shit substitute choices leading to shit substitutions, again…

  104. Joaquim Moreira says:

How can a player with more then 30 years play two games a week? And two players with more than 30 years at the same time?
He haven’t more players then those taht are in the pitch and in the bench? Any fresh player will be an advantage for this game in the second half because Fulham players wera also tired.

  105. EastSidePaul says:

Are you sure DG, I could have swore united are streets ahead of us in the league, and if i’m not wrong, have won trophy after trophy. You say its the coaching, b ut as long as wenger is there that will never change, and i really don’t feel we have better footballers. We like to think we do, but results say otherwise.

  106. rockyrocastle07 says:

Hi ESP. I lost count of the times Dembele skipped through the midfield with minimum pressure put on him. As for the front 3… how is RVP meant to do it all himself? The moment Rambo came off it was obvious RVP would get no further service. But when Gerv and Theo were on they were shocking. Rico, I know you are a staunch Theo fan but sweet Jesus, he was truly awful today.

  107. EastSidePaul says:

Rocky or midfield is poor, even with 5 they are not good enough, Arteta, song and Ramsy aren’t doing half the job that Fabregas and Flamini did, If i had my way all 3 would be out and two top notch midfielders in to replace them.

  108. Joaquim Moreira says:

of course, allez. Miguel ( aypung and fresh player on), Coquelin on the right, djourou out after the fist yellow card. Benayoun and Rosicky do the same.Playing with both make an unbalanced team.
And back to the 5th/6th position

  109. rockyrocastle07 says:

only a few players could hold their head high after that game…. Coq, Kozzer, Rambo for his tireless chasing down and Song. RVP didn’t get the service, Merts was ok when needed, the rest….. average at best. Except Squid, who is clearly a c**t. Why isn’t Ox playing? Hi AK – Totally agree re Coq switching to right back with Miqel coming on at left back. Why hasn’t Le Stubborn One not realised from his past mistakes of dragging Squid out? Have we ever not conceded when he has played?

  110. goonster says:

Saw this coming…oh well we r just a point behind the chavs. Nobody gave us a chance when the season kicked off. Cheer up Guys. With new signings and our walking wounded returning we might still make the top four. Come arsenal! Lest I forget “djourou is pants” end of!

  111. rockyrocastle07 says:

evening Goonster. do you seriously think we’ll be getting anyone new?! I wish I had your optimism mate! I can only see Wayne Bridge coming in personally. And that will also be a disaster!

  112. allezkev says:

Wenger waffles on about the size of his squad, well why didn’t he rotate more to keep players fresh???

Because our squad is full of average run-of-the-mill trundlers.

Nevermind about injuries, they’re a way of life for a football team.

Maybe the penny might drop and a couple of signings might be made after this display?

  113. allezkev says:

Hi Rocky, i couldn’t believe it when Squillaci was named on the bench.

And when he came on, well, it wasn’t a suprise was it?

  114. EastSidePaul says:

Goonster do you actually believe we will bring players in? I truly believe Wenger had NOTHING to do with the signings on the last day, he has no interest in signing new players.

Here is what gets me. You look at the players, they don’t care, won lose, draw its all the same to them, while you look at united and all they want to do is win, they want to win more than they want their next breath, Ferguson buys winners, maybe not the most technical players, but he buys winners and he has NO problem with throwing 18m here and there to win. That the difference, and that is why they rarely go a season without a trophy while we haven’t won anything in 7 years.

  115. stevepalmer1 says:

Sell the Ox sell Ryo and sell Park and buy a player we can use whats the point of buying them and playing Walcott Arshavin and Chamakh. I’m dreading when we finally get a visa for Campbell because we wont see him till 2014

  116. devilgunner says:

SELL PEANUTS AND MONKEYS WILL BE YOUR CUSTOMERS. ULTIMATELY YOU WILL ALSO EMPLOY MONKEYS TO ACT AS WAITERS….TO SERVE OTHER MONKEYS.

  117. STV says:

GOD how much I HATE to see Djorou in our side nasiest shocking footballer. Agaist wolves against fulham He was the MAIN reason

  118. Joaquim Moreira says:

Sagna is fit now? Because we left Djourou too
Like I said before, this team without Gervinho is very poor. Walcott, is in hiding, places himself behind the defense is rarely a pass line alternative, not defend. Gervinho is the opposite. He always in the game but only be frehs for one half.

  119. devilgunner says:

I said it all summer, said it after the Manure debacle and will repeat it again now……WE NEED A NEW MANAGER. END OFF.

And if an AKB comes on this site to tell me off for saying it I will start it myself now by telling him to F**K **F

  120. stv111 says:

GOD how much I HATE to see Djorou in our side.Nasiest/ dreadful player!!! agaist wolves agaist fulham he was the MAIN reason.

  121. allezkev says:

Paul, i’ll tell ya what mate, if the effin penny don’t drop, then nevermind the injured players coming back, because we’ll be heading for another 2nd half of the season collapse, if we aren’t carefull.

Need to beat Leeds big-time, and go on a bit of an unbeaten run or things could get messy……

  122. rockyrocastle07 says:

why do we even have Park? Is it purely shirt sales? Wenger clearly refuses to deviate from the shaky 4-3-3 formation. He’s clearly not going to drop RVP, so there is no room for him. Even when a striker IS brought on, is that carthorse Chamakh. Who is garbage. We need a powerful striker and a change in formation. People are wetting their pants over Henry coming back. Don’t get me wrong, he’s great to have around the club, but does anyone honestly believe he’ll do much on the pitch? People seem to forget his last season for us (and please correct me if I’m wrong) wasn’t exactly great. I hope I’m wrong, I seriously do, but let’s face it, Wenger has probably brought him in as our only new attacking option. Not good enough.

  123. stevepalmer1 says:

ESP, only Ryo as far as i know, i find it hard to beleve any of them is injured we have never seen them, perhaps they pulled somthing opening their presents

  124. goonster says:

I know he will. We stand to lose 40m if we fail to quality for next season’s CL. He won’t and can’t afford to lose that…..but like I said previously I don’t see us signing a striker. Wenger already sees henry as a quick fix till gervinho and chamakh returns from the ACON. He ll rather spend a huge sum on one player….and he’s a mid fielder! His name yoann gourcuff! You heard it here first. Wenger is so obsessed with mid fielders and its a known fact he drools over gourcuff. He’s best friends with gourcuff senior. Watch this space.

  125. devilgunner says:

I am livid mates. Not because we lost but because of the continuous mistakes I keep seeing repeated. Poor substitutions, poor tactical mistakes, bad substitute timing, players passing the buck when we are under the cosh. Had our midfield dug in we would not have conceded. But no one defended the channels infront of the defense. The midfield was inexistent.

  126. EastSidePaul says:

We need a change is formation, but we can’t do it with the midfielders we have now. We need to ship them out and spend big.
Also, why on earth does Wenger cheap out on the defence, I know he is cheap, but Cahill at 5mil is too much, really?

  127. STV says:

GOD how much I HATE to see Djorou in our side. Worst / dreadful footballer !!! Against wolves agaist fulham he was the MAIN reason

  128. EastSidePaul says:

DG i agree completely. You think any of this would have happened with Vieira and Petit in midfield?

  129. rockyrocastle07 says:

I know what you mean ESP but if I’m honest, I would rather have Kozzer that cahill. That guy can play anywhere in the back 4 and as I’ve said a couple of times on this site, I think he’d be an awesome DM. We need to stop pissing around with average left backs. I’d take Baines over anyone we have in that position without a moments hesitation.

  130. EastSidePaul says:

We need to stop pissing around in general, players need to be axed, and big money established players need to be brought in.

  131. EastSidePaul says:

Its the manager I am afraid Rico, he puts the below par players out and is responsible for the tactics too.

  132. goonster says:

Guys calm diwn…we ll be alright. We still have to play the chavs manure shitty and the scums at home. With wilshere sagna and Santos back I see us taking 10 points from those games. Relax we ll be fine. I promise.

  133. rockyrocastle07 says:

I’ve not been so angry during a match for ages. The fact there was about 50 yards of space between RVP and our next player during that second half was astonishing. My wife walked into the front room and walked straight back out again after seeing the look of rage on my face as Fulham were dominating the match. The same Fulham that have been getting spanked home and away all season.

  134. stevepalmer1 says:

In all fairness to Gervinho, at least he goes forward takes on his man and is prepared to mix it up with anyone where Theo very rarely gets past anyone goes on runs away from the ball can’t cross and is fucking hopeless in front of goal and he keeps telling us he is played out of position,I watched the QPR game and i actually saw theo out jump a defender and get his head on a ball thats the first time ever he’s just not up to it and thats it.

  135. rockyrocastle07 says:

Hi Goonster. That’s fair enough, but don’t forget we can’t even beat Wolves or Fulham at home…. I fear for the matches against the current top 4…..

  136. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico – Wenger is clearly top blame. The tactics, Subs, players bought/selected…. it all culminates in a massive hurricane of piss with performances like tonights

  137. stevepalmer1 says:

From what i have seen of the Ox in the one game he played he has the same mentality as the Gerv he wants to get in there and mix it up why are we not letting him.

  138. EastSidePaul says:

I like Gervinho’s directness, his first touch and ability to finish is awful. I would pick him over Walcott any day, I hear chelsea are still interested? 10m and we would be robbing them at that price.

  139. rico says:

Actually Esp, I kind of agree , yet disagree… but that;s because i think we have 10/12 really good players, what I think the problem is, we don’t play to their strengths – we should be playing a 442 with Gerv/Theo playing off RvP

We should have a stronger midfield four – Song, Arteta, Ramsey/Jack and we need to sign a M’vila kind of player

At the back we need another CB, imho, the only two quality CB’s we have are Kos and TV…..

One player stood out today imho and that was Coquelin, he isn’t a defender, let alone a LB but that guy gave his all….

Wengers tactics imho are too boring and so so predictable….

  140. rockyrocastle07 says:

Ox plays like Wilshere and Rooney when he first came on to the scene….. minimum amount of fear. Whereas Walcott is scared of running at someone he knows he can burn every time. I don’t understand his reluctance to knock it and run when there’s loads of space there.

  141. goonster says:

That’s cause we are playing without any recognized full back. Its not easy guys. With sagna and Santos back we ll be a different team. Am positive.

  142. rico says:

Tell you what guys, under a different coaching regime, some of our players would be better than they are…..

  143. EastSidePaul says:

I know what you mean Rico, but if I had my way our midfield would be LM: Ryo CM: Gourcuff CM: M’vila RM: Ox. Jack and Arteta as subs.

Second striker to play with RVP.

    A centre back.

And sell close to half of the squad..

  144. rockyrocastle07 says:

Sagna yes….. Santos seriously isn’t the answer! I’d honestly rather play Coq at left back all the time after tonight’s performance, even when all other LB’s we have are fit. He was awesome tonight. Gibbs and Santos are far too flaky and inconsistent

  145. rico says:

rocky, agree re walcott but he didn’t join us like that, he was up for everything, just look at what has happened to AA – a world class player ruined, with theo we have a young players career on the way to ruin…

ok, i agree, lets take all the money we can get for theor walcott because sure as hell that bguy deserves to be playing for a manager that actually cares about his future…

    now i worry for Chamberlain!

  146. devilgunner says:

Twenty years ago we lost to Wrexham in the FA cup. That was an almighty upset for me. And it took me long to get over it. Today’s result is on the same level. And it has made me furious. Yes AK I should chill down. but how long do we have to chill down and suffer the same thing over and over again???

  147. stevepalmer1 says:

Wenger for some reason keeps playing wankers over and over again he is starting to get right up my nose. by the look on his face when asked about JD i hope its along time before we see him again but i dont suppose it will be too long before we go back to all those has beens again, the three players we havn’t seen all season must ask for a move how long will they wait, park will probably return as a field marshal before we see him, the Ox will be van persies age and ryo will still be injured when they get back.

  148. rico says:

Thats fair enough Esp, but we don’t even know if Ryo will do well, he’s another on the verge of having his career fecked up, just like Carlos Vela…..

Sorry, I am bloody livid with Wenger right now, all he wants to do to make us better is sign Henry, is that all that we have become??

  149. rico says:

STV – Wenger won’t react to tonight, not one bit!!

DG – that’s just it ‘time and time again’….. how much more eh??

Steve – now you know how some of us have felt for a while….

  150. devilgunner says:

Blimey Rico ,,,,,,,that’ already 277 comments. Soon today your blog will be past 300……is that a record????

  151. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico – Henry better not be the only forward we “sign”. I’ll happily go and hunt Wenger down and batter him if it is.

  152. goonster says:

Rocky sorry mate but we did miss Santos this padt few weeks. We ve lost our width. Without him we are toothless going forward. When he drives forward he’s like another mid fielder and his composure on the ball is second to robin’s. I can’t wait to have him back. Him and sagna ll make a tasty dish. Boy I can’t wait. COYFGS. We are not beaten yet. Where are your cojones? Come on!

  153. W.A.T.H says:

I really don’t know what your all moaning about…………!

    Don’t you all know………?

    Arsene knows…..!!!

  154. rockyrocastle07 says:

I agree that Santos is great going forward, but Coq was pretty tasty today. But Santos can’t defend as well as Coq can, and has virtually no stamina! When he goes forward and we lose posession we are left exposed as he lumbers back! Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy, but prefer him on the wing if I’m honest!

  155. stevepalmer1 says:

coming to the end of the game i noticed even Pat Rice moved on his chair, they must have been annoyed

  156. W.A.T.H says:

    Only a pleasure Rocky…….. 😉

I’m not even pissed off anymore I laughed when they scored the 2nd goal it was so f’kin obvious it was going to happen, gutless wenger takes off both wingers and goes all defensive with 20mins to play, granted theo was utter shit but straight away it allows the opposition to get on the front foot and we have no outlet going forward, wenger does that shit all the time and yet now we are in a transfer window and for the 4th year running he’ll do fuck all and never ever learns by his mistakes cos he’s so stubborn. Anyone else makes the same mistakes at work 4yrs running you’d get the sack…!

  157. allezkev says:

Rocky, your lucky, my missrs comes into the room and says “What’s wrong with you. It’s only a game”……

    Arrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

  158. rico says:

i think its around 350 DG

rocky – totally agree, but i bet he is!

Wath – never had you down as an AKB 😉

Esp, exactly, and so are those who employ him – get usamanov in i say…..

  159. goonster says:

We just need a few tweaks and the team ll be back to its best but I don’t see that happening. We ll be lucky to sign any striker but Mid fielder? We will!

  160. STV says:

Rico colorado rapids, denver nuggets all are mediocre sides so I dont think Kroenke care where we stand,, from what it shows

  161. rico says:

Spot on wath, why take off the pace in our game, talk about a christma gift from old eber-feckin-neezer!!

  162. W.A.T.H says:

Comes to something when you read the comments on here and we’ve just lost to fulham….. yes the mighty fulham and you lot are all going on about how well Coq played…… Says it all really eh…!

Arsene knows Rico…… am fucked if I know what he knows BUT apparently he knows….!

  163. goonster says:

STV mate, chill out. Do what I do. Go get a drink my man and that goes for you too rocky. You can use a few pints. Like AK’s missus ll say” its only a game”……

  164. rockyrocastle07 says:

I’d have Coq as our first choice LB if we aren’t going to buy another. I am still willing Merts to do well like you wouldn’t believe! But I can’t help thinking Kozzer and Verm is our first choice CB pairing. I love big bad Merts though! Always has such a pained expression on his face! Probably the look of someone in constant bewilderment that JD and Squid are known as “Professional Footballers”!

  165. rockyrocastle07 says:

I don’t drink Goonster! But I am genuine when I say I wish I had your optimism! It’s actually refreshing!

  166. W.A.T.H says:

DG, what he knows is how to talk utter shit, how to spin the truth and how to pull the wool over peoples eyes and the problem is most gullable fans fall for it….!

7mil a yr……. he’s laughing all the way to the bank along with the rest of the board.

  167. devilgunner :x says:

310 comments already Rico. Reckon the record will be broke tonight. And yes at the moment I am mad…… 😡

  168. allezkev says:

DG, i’ve been there, i’ve got t-shirt and the DVD.

It’ll happen again. It always does….

But you get it of your chest habib……

i’m going around the pub in a minute, to start a fight…. :P:

  169. rockyrocastle07 says:

Thing is though WATH, the only people’s eyes he pulls the wool over are the dumbass AKB’s. The rest of us, and that number is surely on the increase, know that he talks complete shite. I can barely watch interviews with him any more as they are so cringe-inducing with the sheer crap coming out of his mouth.

  170. goonster says:

Yeah Steve where did that tosser crawl out from? Lee probert? More like lee prickbert. I ll bet he’s a spud. Wanker.

  171. devilgunner :x says:

Start a fight did you say Kev???? Wait for me mate…..I’ll just call the missus for company. 😡

  172. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico – I’m having to sit through the special Pat programme now. hat a shitty end to a shitty night. Back to work for the first time in 2 weeks tomorrow too. Seriously, what a shitter.

  173. rico says:

The ref was a pratt but he’s not to blame for our failures –

The man who tried three times to put his hand in his zipped up pocket was!!

  174. stevepalmer1 says:

AK take Stan with you he’ll back you up, specially if theres a spud in there, while you fight he’ll smash he’s windscreen

  175. rockyrocastle07 says:

Why did he not learn?! the first time the camera caught him, he tried about 6 times to put his hand in his pocket. Then they caught him trying a further 2 times with the same outcome! What a douchebag! And he makes the team decisions! Now it all makes sense……

  176. STV says:

The sad thing, goonstr, is we’ve had a lee prickbert in almost every game. i guess that what wenger refered as ” consistant problem “

  177. devilgunner says:

Rico……The man who tried three times to put his hand in his zipped up pocket was!! Did you mean his ZIPPED UP FRONT ZIPPER?????

    I am feeling murderous tonight.

  178. rico says:

rocky – re your 8.53, be prepared to hear more during this transfer window……

you know what guys and gals – this is why we have blogs, it’s the place to let go and get rid of the anger, after we beat swansea we’ll all be happy again 😉

  179. goonster says:

I see only positives Guys….maybe am drunker than I thought. Oh well at least we are just a point off 4th place. How many of you realistically thought we ll be here now. Come on you guys. The team was jaded cut them some slack.

  180. rico says:

😛 DG – it was really funny, he has a zip half way down his coat, he was peed off and tried to get his hand in his pocket – three times he tried before realising it was zipped shut… 🙂

  181. rockyrocastle07 says:

right, I’m off to bed before I spout any more vitriolic rants! Hopefully all will seem better after a decent kip. Doubt that will be the case when the alarm goes off at 5.30 tomorrow morning. Night all, catch you soon.

  182. W.A.T.H says:

All well and good moaning about a shit ref and yes yet again he was crap but doesnt alter the fact we should bury shit, we wasted chances to have the game buried by half time, we fuck about in front of goal, wenger makes shit substitutions and we don’t compeete when the going gets a little tough, would we have lost even with ten men with a Tony Adams playing or a Vieira…? the answer is no…. we’re still lacking bottle simple as that and the manager is solely responsible and watch him blame anyone and everyone, tiredness, travelling 😉 the ref, the team bus served cold coffee… blah blah blah

  183. goonster says:

hold on kev let me finish me drink then we can go bash some heads. Especially manure and spuds ones. Yeeah! My kinda Thing.

  184. allezkev says:

    Wath 9.07

I didn’t see the game, i listened to it on 5Live, but i don’t have to watch Arsenal, to know how shit Wenger is at substitutions.

That’s where we lost this game….

All this referee stuff is spin and nonsense.

Wenger should have had Ox on the bench. A cretinous mistake with so many tired players.

Then to take off our two fastest players, who ensured that Fulham couldn’t push up and press our half, was stupidity in the extreme, made worse by the absense of the Ox.

Finally to bring on that shower of shit Squillaci just compounded Wengers mistakes.

Djourou should have been off after his first yellow card….

    With Miquel on.

Simple. Well it is to me, but i’m an idiot… 🙁

  185. allezkev says:

STV, a couple of wins, and we’ll be ok again.

But today is an example of what’s waiting in store for us later in the season.

I’m afraid i still blame the Board.

    They sacked Dein.

And since he went, this has become the norm…

  186. rico says:

I’m not happy with Wengers team choices, tactics or subs AK, but before he goes, I want that board out out and give the big russian a chance…. he’ll bring back DD and sort all this stuff out!

If that happens, you just watch Wenger change in the transfer window.,……

  187. allezkev says:

That’s it Rico, take the responsibility away from Wenger for transfers, and make accept a new No.2, Bould, Keown or Adams, not TH12….

  188. devilgunner says:

Yes blame the ref by all counts!!!!! He was to blame for Gervinho’s finishing. He was to blame for Theo’s invisibility (did he borrow Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak). He was to blame for Djourou’s yellow cards. He was to blame for not tackling in midfield. He was to blame for substituting our two fastest players with old ones who should not be in the same team. He was to blame for the introduction of Squilly. He was to blame for leaving Senderos alone to send the ball back in front of the goal mouth. He was to blame for the winner when Zamora trampled all over our defender and shitted on him. HE WAS TO BLAME FOR BEING A REF.

  189. stevepalmer1 says:

Don’t bank on Dein comeing back Rico, it will probably be one of the Russian Mafia Olgago getmeone

  190. W.A.T.H says:

    R u getting a cab down there AK..? 😉

I saw the game on tv on a feed and 2nd half we were poor AK, Song isn’t the answer and JD should or been replaced as you said and why was there no pace on the bench to swap like for like when you take of theo and or Gerv…? it’s a no brainer in my book. We have defenders who don’t attack the ball and yet again found wanting from a set piece. When your down to ten men you reorganise you keep it tight you go 441 and you make them beat you not hand it to them on a plate….!

  191. rico says:

Definately NOT Henry AK, he’;s just another yes man in the making…. but the other three, that makes so so mich sense and just how it should be………….

I think DD will come back Steve, if AU takes over, in what capacity i dont know but the mn loves afc, the same man who was holiadying with wenger in the summer – something is still going on there….

  192. devilgunner says:

AK, Rico and all. AW was not going to put his hand in his pocket. He was going to feel if his thing was still there since he was going numb all over having to watch the crap on show.

  193. STV says:

DG you were spot on !! we can only blame him for denying a penalty for us and giving us a red card and making extreamly biased decisions during whole of thegame.

the rest is all player’s and manager’s fault

  194. W.A.T.H says:

SP, yep Chez fucked up for the 1st goal from the cross but maybe if he had more faith in defenders heading the ball clear he would not of come for it..? they won two crucial headers and we were ball watching…! piss poor defending, poor decision from Chez but we have to expect the odd mistake from him at his age…… piss poor defending is STILL a huge problem and noone organising or taking responsibility to baton down the hatches and scrape out a 1-0 win with ten mins to go…!

  195. rico says:

Guys, i’m heading off, horlicks, hot water bottle and my pillow call me…

Nighty night to you all, not a good start to 2012 eh….

    Stay safe all…..

    Night…

  196. Joaquim Moreira says:

Against wolves, we were 11-10 at ten minutes to the end; today, we were 10 to eleven, at ten minutes until the end, and we losse 2-1.
I can’t understand the subs. Look the last one: we are stronger in the midlle with Kos and Mets. so, with a left back at the bench, put Kos on the right, Squil is comming to the cental back and weakness the middle in the midfield. Arteta (have you seen in the 2nd half?),Song, benayuoun and Rosicky – strong and fresh midfiels, isnt’t it? Have you seen the statistics at half time?Ramsey was the leader – runs 8,5 km; Arteta, the second…two consevutive games.
I’m going outside, walking a little bit.
    See you tomorrow

  197. allezkev says:

Good night Rico. The sun will be shining in the morning… 😉

    Oh, and Pat’s not really brown-bread…. :P:

    Good night DG….. Enjoy the respray…. 🙂

  198. W.A.T.H says:

It’ll still be gloomy 2moro and we won’t be buying anyone in this transfer window and I need a case of GG….

Nite all…. Hope you feel better Rico…..

  199. stevepalmer1 says:

    Nte record breaker sleep tight.
Wath i’m not digging him out he has saved us many times in the last few months but the way i see it if you can get your hand on it catch the ffing thing.
    Devil nte mate
    JM don’t get lost mate
    And Wath pour another gg
    Nte all

  200. W.A.T.H says:

SP, I know your not digging him out but i totally agree he should of done better, if he got a hand to it get a good hand to it or catch it as you say, think he misjudged it if you see it a few times but we still then lost the 2 following headers with very little challenge… piss poor…!

Sending you a GG SP we can all do with one… a very large one, apart from Stan who’s already pissed of course…!

  201. allezkev says:

You should have a butchers at Le Grove.

As usual a very calm and balanced view by all……. bless ’em. 🙂

  202. allezkev says:

Quiet mate, and New Year. The pub we choose, didn’t have an extension, so i was indoors when the clocks struck 12.

    Yep, a rip-roaring night… 🙁

  203. stevepalmer1 says:

I think we should stay and get her ratings up, might bring a smile to her face in the morning after the result tonight eh

  204. W.A.T.H says:

AK, there is looking at a defeat in a proper sensible way and looking at it like a total dickbrain. Can imagine various other sites and to be honest never ever waste my time looking.

  205. devilgunner says:

That is why I stayed mates. to break the 400 barrier.

And now its off for sure. Good night mates. Its going to be a long day tomorrow for me. And on Wednesday its my first game for 2012. Hope we start it in good fashion.

There you are Rico. Over 400 comments. A top blog.

    yaaaawwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn. offski guys

  206. allezkev says:

I know what you mean Wath.
I used to have a bloke standing a few feet away from me on the North Bank a few years back.
As soon as the first misplaced pass went off, he went off, ranting and raving.
Until after half a season he got a right-hander from another guy nearby, and we never heard another peep outta him.

And we had plenty to moan about in those days……

And don’t tell me you don’t remember.. 🙂

  207. W.A.T.H says:

DG, we’ve had over 450 comments through the summer on a few posts…!

SP, hope 2012 brings you everything you wish for mate….! AK you lightweight, I didnt get to bed til 7am yesterday morning…! 😉

  208. stevepalmer1 says:

I don’t think you have to look round at others when you have seen the performance yourself , first half was pretty good but the second was piss poor, no one needs to tell me just so fucking frustrating, just a little thougt thats all, i sat in the stands saturday and watched chance after chance go by like tonight and was praying the meerkat wasn’t going to show tonight if i had had my way theo wouldn’t have been in the squad at all

  209. stevepalmer1 says:

Nte DG, Wath if i get to the end of the year without dieing i will feel i’ve had a result mate , but at the moment a fucking good signing will keep me happy.

  210. W.A.T.H says:

AK, when you been and watched the shit we seen over there what they serve up now its a million miles better, what I can’t stomach is players on huge wages doing fuck all for their money and who look like they couldnt give a shit. Also as said already the same mistakes made by the manager over n over n over again and he does nothing about it just puts on his blinkers and gives us the same old spin. He really must think we are all f’kin blind and stupid.

  211. allezkev says:

They all do it Wath, Fergie, AVB, Moaninho, Allardyce,
    Wenger ain’t unique there.

But it does piss you off.

They treat you like an idiot.

    They take you for granted.

    Sometimes i wish i’d taken up fishing…

  212. stevepalmer1 says:

I’m greedy Wath i want more than that, my phone has been red hot all night and we must shut them buggers up, the only trouble is they have a good team this year and it really pisses me off.

  213. W.A.T.H says:

Fishinggggggg fuck me that must be like watching the yids week after week.

    I’d rather watch paint dry..!

  214. allezkev says:

No mate, fishing is more exciting than watching the scummers any day. 🙂

Steve, maybe this result might just shake them out of that complacency, that seemed to be creeping back.

The Board need to be made to feel uncomfortable, only then, will they spend.

  215. W.A.T.H says:

It’s not greedy SP its what we deserve and what we pay for… that tight arsed board have fucked us over big time and don’t even spend what we generate and we have to put up with the deadwood and paying average players a fortune. Show some f’kin ambition and some intent and spend “OUR” money on a few quality players to make us as competative as we should be. It won’t take a fortune nor is it 5/6 players it’s 2/3 and we’d be sorted and change that poxy fuckin shit formation.

  216. stevepalmer1 says:

the only way they will feel uncomfortable is when were out of Europe so we need to finish way down, i understand the concept but a bit hard to swallow

  217. W.A.T.H says:

The board are untouchable AK its why they treat us like shit and talk like we don’t matter….! their attitude stinks….! Money grabbing pocket lining fuckers 😉

  218. allezkev says:

And the biggest ponce is in the USA right now Wath, worrying about his fcuking NBA NFL teams……

    A waste of space.

  219. stevepalmer1 says:

Ak you must be connected to every bit of news that comes out are you a super human fisherman or what,
Wath i must admit i have been looking through rose tinted glasses for years allways thinking that everything is going to drop into place but i keep waiting and trying to imagine those players we linked with all the time finally joining us but deep down i know they won’t and i must admit we are not talking multi just a good one now and again would be nice

  220. allezkev says:

SSP, the trouble is, that’s such a risky scenario.

Look at how hard it is for Liverpool to get back in…

And they actually spend some serious money…

  221. W.A.T.H says:

SP, I had the good fortune to chat with George Eastham and Alex Forbes a few years ago and the conversation got onto buying players and GE said how ever good you are what ever you have won you always buy 2 players of quality every season to rotate and keep others on their toes and then when others get old you always have quality in the squad/team….! I thought that was a bit much but now I see exactly what he was on about never rest never sit and wait you can always be better how ever good you think the team is and it’s not a charity you sell the weakest link its not about sentiment its a club to win things…!

  222. stevepalmer1 says:

What gets me is that we might not be winning things but were still earning mega cash and with just a little investment it must help, but they won’t fffing do it.

  223. allezkev says:

Steve, just cut & paste mate…. It works for me.. 🙂

Lads, until the spotlight is turned firmly onto the Board, nothing will change.

Silent Tosser is a smart operator, that’s why he left a pillock like PHW as the front man.
We all laugh at him, whilst Stan escapes close scrutiny.

Gazides is another front man. But Stan is the problem.

Nothing will change with him in charge….

  224. W.A.T.H says:

How serious is a new owner when he leaves a knob like hillwood as the figurehead when all he does is gets pissed and slags off the fans…. says it all..!

  225. allezkev says:

How can you invest millions into a sporting icon, and not fcuking bother to go and watch them???

Kroenke isn’t a football man, that cnut never will be, he’s in it as an investment.

    I just want him gone…..

  226. I hate Kroenke says:

Tbh, i’m not sure about Ursmanov, but at least he goes to the games.

He’s a football fan. And he’d love to take on Abramovitch…

  227. stevepalmer1 says:

thats a good plan Wath, Wenger must know that as it just seems common sence to me but they don’t seem to want to win just top four suits them that seems to be a trophy for them and they seem happy with that, i am begining to feel that new blood is the only way out sombody that wants success but not just money ambition and to make a name for himself Wenger seems to me to have got to the comfy stage, and will run his contract down then be on his way.

  228. I hate Kroenke says:

Ursmanov would, i’m sure , bring Dein back into the fold, and then we’d start to seriously invest in the team again.

  229. I hate Kroenke says:

I’d still want the club to develop it’s own young talent as usual, but with an injection of quality players, whilst getting rid of the dead wood that we’re stuck with because Wenger has no choice but to use them as he isn’t financed properly and able to replace them.

  230. W.A.T.H says:

He’s been to comfy for me SP for the last 4/5 yrs….. he runs the club…. the board are scared of telling him what to do but they fine with that cos he makes them money, trophies are secondary.

We need a shake up from the top in my opinion and have said it all summer, if we get a new board and wenger doesnt wanna play along then bye bye…. if he buys whats needed then great but he needs to change the attitude as he’s not as smart as he thinks he is…!

  231. stevepalmer1 says:

Nte AK, i’m f-=-ed as well , Wath you have enlightened me and i feel uneasy, but enough for tonight, you be carefull out there nte all.

  232. alan b'stard M P says:

I’m afraid there is still a problem. Old heads like Djourou should go

At least Barton scores goals before being sent off
