Last Gasp Winner is Krul!! M'Vila is up for sale……

Just a little Titbit about the much wanted M’Vila, according to The Daily Mail, his club manager has confirmed he will be sold in the summer, get in there Arsene…

What a night, we had time wasting by Newcastle, bit of a war of words at the end and somewhere in between we had three quality goals and Theo trying to convince any on looking Liverpool management that he’d fit in well in their team!

Of course the last bit of that sentence is irony, did you see him nick a Newcastle water bottle off their physio?

Boy did we miss a few good chances, Gervinho and Tomas could easily found themselves on the score-sheet and for once, our captain was guilty of missing a sitter in the opening minutes, maybe two!

What is the world coming eh!

Robin’s first chance came within minutes of the game being kicked off by the Geordies, Walcott whipped in a wonderful cross, a perfect cross right in front of our captain who only had to get a big toe to it. Any contact would have made in 1-0 but….

Webb was Webb as we know him, studs late into the ankle of Song by Tiote, no yellow card! We have seen red cards given for less! Thankfully Song was ok.

We were having all the play, all the ball but couldn’t make it count then around the fifteen minute mark we were stung.

Gibbs let Ben Arfa by him a little to easy and his left footed thunderbolt into the bottom corner was good enough to be Chesney, the latter will be disappointed that one got by him. Well, he should be.

No time for heads to go down and the fans barely had time to start moaning before Robin van Persie drew the scores level.

Theo was the supplier from the right again, having been found by Rosicky, he hot footed down the right, played the ball into Robin who left his man standing, then drilled his shot past the ‘time waster’ Krul.

That was about until up until the break, Theo continued to make Santon look like a cart horse, he had a chance on goal blocked but as much as with pressed forward, we couldn’t get the second.

Pardew had obviously been little impressed by Santon, he was replaced by Perch at half-time.

Not that the change made much difference, into the second half and Theo left Perch standing, got to the byline and again delivered a super cross for Tomas but his header went straight to the keeper.

We had a few more chances, Arteta had one blocked, Robin had a shot after a precision pass from Chamberlain, but it was all a bit too easy for Krul to save.

‘New signing’ Tomas was having another really good game and he made Yohan Cabaye look a bit silly with a great turn and followed that with a good ball to Robin, another chance denied by Krul.

Tomas himself then had a great chance to put us ahead, he played a one-two with Walcott and was in acres of space but his shot went a little bit wide, well, dreadfully wide, so much so it ended in a Newcastle throw-in.

With ten minutes of regulation time left, Gibbs nicked the ball off of Ben Arfa, found Robin in the box but again our Dutchman couldn’t find the back of the net from a tight angle. His shot went well wide.

It looked as if it was going to be one of those nights, we had squandered chance after chance after having majority of the possession.

Gervinho, who had replaced Chamberlain, had a golden chance at the back post from an Arteta corner that missed everyone; his shot was one of many last night that went wide!

Krul then appeared to have earned his side a point in the final moments of normal time, he made a quality save from a superb headed by Vermaelen.

The board went up, five extra minutes, most no doubt coming from the time wasting committed by Krul.

Theo had a shot which took a deflection over the bar, shouts for a penalty after the ball appeared to hit Coloccini’s arm but there was little surprise that Webb waved away all the protests!

Wenger obviously felt like we all did, believing the game was over and we had dropped two points, he was sat with his head in his hands!

This is Arsenal we are talking about though, the kings of late goals and we didn’t give up last night, not until the idiot in blue blew his whistle.

In the 95th minute, Theo crossed yet another quality ball into the box, which eventually dropped into the path of Vermaelen who had sprinted from defence to get into the area. There was no way he was going to miss.

Vermaelen buried his shot into the back of the net – 2-1and game over!

Well, all but a few little tussles on the pitch between Krul and Robin who was clearly seething after the time wasting tactics from his fellow Dutchman.

Both players went into Webb’s book!

After the Liverpool game, the diving etc that took place, the headline ‘Cheats seldom Prosper’ followed.

Last night that headline again came true, Krul was cheating, trying to waste time and from quite early on in the game.

Well that time wasting gave us the five minutes we needed to score the winner.

Some in the media will make a big deal about the scuffle towards and at the end of the game, not me!

It showed that players care, our captain cares and as Gary Neville said after the game, too many times in the past our club has been accused of having no fighting spirit and last night we showed we do and he loved it…

So did I….

I don’t do ratings, but if I did, the whole team would get a ten!

Have a good day all….

If your gonna start time wasting half way through the first half then expect to get grief…. He was getting wound up by RVP big time and after the goal just took the piss out of him as well which was classic… Did anyone see Santos hugging Wenger after the winner and Tomas Rosicky throwing off his coat and running onto the pitch to celebrate like a lunatic…?? Call me cynical but I am seeing some team spirit and fight which has sooooo been lacking the last few seasons…!

  2. rico says:

    Agree Wath on both…

I think its improved since AA left, just goes to show what one bad apple can do, in seasons gone by its been Nik, Ade, maybe even Cesc and Nasri – all a bit sulky and up themselves…

  3. Adam says:

Hi Rico and all. Great night at the Emirates last night and a very well deserved victory despite Webb’s strange performance. Tiote must have committed at least 10 fouls before he finally got a booking. And what a wally Krul is. Cost his side dearly with his cheating. Unfortunately I seem to have come down with a bug or something and am going to spend the morning at least in bed.

  4. Billboy says:

    Morning All.
It looked like we always had 11 men on the pitch who not only wanted to play but wanted to win. No sweat left unused. This sort of commitment and determination could not only carry us into next year,s Champions league but also see us make a serious challenge for the title. I can’t believe I’m saying this after some of the performances we have watched this season.

I think Rico’s point at 9.56 could be spot on.

I am starting to look forward to matches again rather than dreading them. Come on!

  5. The BearMan says:

Arsenal showed desire and stamina. They made Newcastle work and unlike Krul’s early predictions fear, tears n handbags was evident on his teams faces towards the end.

  6. W.A.T.H says:

2b honest Rico can’t say it’s one person in particular AA isn’t going to ruin squad team spirit but I agree Cesc n Nas both were sulky and when you see the enthusiasm we get from RVP and TV and a few others it def helps…. They are def more of a unit/team than the last few seasons…! I love it….

  7. Lee says:

    Ker-ching! Yiddos we’re coming to get you…..
Tiote should of been sent off!
Krul was time wasting after 15 mins…wanker!
Keown on 5 live on the way home last night said the Ems hasn’t been rocking like that….well since last Tuesday! He then went on talking about a special unity developing in the team

  8. rico says:

Morning Adam, sorry to hear you are poorly, so is devil…

Great night indeed, bet i was pretty special to be there…

Morning Billboy, something has definately changed again, all season there has been a good spirit but now it’s showing on the pitch, we have a squad that want to win imho, not just 12 or 13…

  9. rico says:

Hi BearMan, all of them, they were awesome, never say die attitude and TV’s run at the end, you wouldn’t have known he’d been playing for 90 mins….

Wath, honestly, thats would i believe, they way he used to come on and just not try, that had started to piss a few players off, it can’t be a coincidence that we have improved big time since he left…

We are left with footballers, not egos

  10. John says:

Sit back and watch this summer because I expect big changes this summer especially with Podolski being signed so early that the transfer window is at the moment in a deep sleep. I think because of four factors Wenger has woken up and seen what the rest of have been seeing for a while. 1 Getting dicked by Sir Alex Ferguson 8-2 at Old Trafford, 2 Smashed in the San Siro probably even hurt more because it showed how far we are behind everybody in Europe, 3 the open criticism of him from fans and last summer transfer business and 4 has had to play catch up to Spurs all season and being so far out of the title race, when in Europe Man Utd & Man City fell at the first hurdle and have struggled in the Europa League.

  11. Rokabox says:

    morning happy gooners,
another classic game, the spirit is definately showing, for once wenger’s mental strength catch phrase make sense!

after the sitters that RVP missed (by his own standards), and not to mention Gervinho and Rosicky chances we all thought that was that, one of those nights, 2 points dropped, but the last minute winner made it even sweeter. I hope that wenger has realized that putting in low morale Chamack or Parker would actually kill those magic last minutes.

All that fighting spirit coincides with Arshavin departure, it is either he was a negative vibe or a jinx in the dressing room.

we still waiting for Dutch to explain whats going on between RVP and Krul, it is more than time wasting, we don’t care anyway, he got what he deserved

    happy days

  12. potter says:

Once again a spectacular finish from a team that plays till the finish. In defence of Gibbs though for their goal he was dragged inside because our midfield didn’t track back and consequently got caught between two men . Szczesney however should not have been beaten on his near post.
Still 3 points and the stadium has found it’s voice that’s 3 games in a row it’s been rocking.Krul was getting pelters and the spat at the end could have been prevented had Webb done something about the time wasting earlier. When i got home last night I watched the last 20 minutes again and the trouble with the T.V coverage is that they tend to show replays rather than the time wasting and consequently it goes without comment.

  13. devilgunner says:

    Good match report Rico.

Krul is a wally. In the end he got what he deserved….nothing. But he is a good goalkeeper. And for one who had both shoulders popping off a few years ago his hands have good reflexes.

Incidentally both keepers had trouble with both hands. Chesney had two broken hands while Krul’s shoulders used to pop out.

  14. devilgunner says:

Potter…..I think that Krul was time wasting simply because he wanted to give the TV people time enough to show the various replays of him making saves. Maybe a top club comes in for him!! 😆

  15. devilgunner says:

    Speaking of keepers…….

Leeds United have signed young Arsenal goalkeeper Sean McDermott on a youth loan.

The 18 year old has signed on a youth loan deal for a month and he made his debut in the under-18`s 2-2 draw at Manchester City on Saturday.

McDermott first signed for Arsenal in 2009 as a 16 year old after impressing Arsenal scouts with his performances for Norwegian side IK Vag as a schoolboy.

He has been a regular for Arsenal`s under 18 side this season and he has also made two appearances for the reserves.

    good morning
How many yellow cards has RVP got?
    he could be sent off…
chamack and Park are in dead line.

  17. devilgunner says:

There is a player that no one has mentioned but one who I feel will integrate well within our style.

Roberto Firmino is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for German club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, as a midfielder. He plays as an advanced midfielder or as a second striker and is 180cm tall. In 33 appearances for Hoffenheim he has scored 9 goals. He is skilfull……

    he can score goals……..

and has great awareness of goal…..

  18. devilgunner says:

He is also 20 years old. Hoffenheim want Bendy??? We can offer him and Park in part exhange. Two deadwood for the price of one.

  19. Rokabox says:

Rosicky is my man of the match again,by miles, Theo was also impressive but he could do better imo,

Gervinho need to loose that plastic on his head, it is causing overheating on his cerebellum.

  20. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Nice one Rico, you must have been excited writing that post, i won’t ask why 🙂
Another 3 points and we move closer to the leaders, our team of believers can go further a lot further and we can challenge them all right to the end, Theo said last night that spuds are looking over their shoulders i would like to believe they are are all looking, nothing is in the bag for all of us and stranger things have happened. We must press and keep on pressing.

  21. potter says:

Gervinho need to loose that plastic on his head, it is causing overheating on his cerebellum

I am getting worried about 5 head , I am not sure exactly what he brings to the party.

  22. devilgunner says:

Hiya Sir SP. I would like to be as much as positive as you. Yes stranger things have happened but we need three teams above us to flounder. Well two, since the scum from the slum are already floundering. Hopefully we will not flounder and at least grab 3rd place from them.

But yes, stranger things have happened.

  23. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi Devil, teams flounder when under pressure City has shown that Utd right behind them can make them nervous Spuds the same, Utd are used to challenges so i don’t expect a collapse from them but as you have said stranger things have happened, we have to keep winning we cannot afford a mistake they can but the more we keep winning the more chance they will come undone.

    Next 8 games = 22 points out of 24 points;
    Next 7 games = 07 points out of 21 points;
Next 6 games = 16 points out of 18 points.

    Maximum points achievable = 52 + 30 = 82 points.
    Realistic Target of 4 wins 4 draws 2 losses = 19 points.
    Minimum points for 4th spot = 52 + 16 = 68 points.

Ideally, Arsenal must remain unbeaten for the rest of the season to clinch Top-4 status.

  25. W.A.T.H says:

A lot of big games still to play…… A team that looks like they wanna fight and play for each other all of a sudden and also a few injuries returning and we’re not so short all of a sudden. Doesn’t mean we still don’t need to get in quality because we do but for me just the fact that the players are putting in a shift and showing the right attitude and commitment puts a smile on my face as thats all I ask for in a game…!

  26. devilgunner says:

W.A.T.H…..A lot of big games still to play…… A team that looks like they wanna fight and play for each other all of a sudden.

Why all of a sudden mate?? I agree with you. But this sudden twist of fortunes and team spirit??

Any coincidences with departures, roles and friendship or captaincy??

It can be one or multiple or all of them at once.

Incidentally what do you make of Firmino W.A.T.H.??

  27. Scott From Oz says:

And no arguing fans…..what’s world coming to lol??????
Lets hope the scousers belt absolute tripe put of each other later on.
    Early start tomorrow,so goodnight all.

  28. stevepalmer1 says:

Wath you just like a good game of football admit it and of course the right result, i’ll drink to that 🙂

  29. Joaquim Moreira says:

Next matches: 21th (wednesday) and 24th March (Saturday). Time for repair the injuries but not many free days between them

  30. rico says:

Hope Everton pick up a couple of red cards and very slight injuries tonight, just enough to mean players will miss their next match 😉

But, i hope they spank the dippers good and proper, and Suarez takes a dive for a penalty but finally a ref grows some and sends him off…

Kenny will then blame AW no doubt 😛

  31. Marinello says:

Afternoon Rico, Micko, Lee, Joaquim, Devil, Steve, WATH and all you lovely people…….
Had to chuckle this morning, I happen to work with a couple of Spuds, of course I gave them the old ‘We’re coming to get you’
and one of them, never mentioned anything about the match last night, only that RVP needs teaching some manners. What a Dick….
Not sure what he saw that I didn’t.
I gently reminded him that Bale’s diving could be termed as bad manners and outright cheating to gain advantage…. no reply to that….. Funny that.
Its great to see a fighting spirit in the team, and coming from our Captain, what an example.
Bet ‘ol Harry’s’ twitching and swearing like a good un.

  32. alan b'stard M P says:

M’Mila will be available for ACN. Rico, I know they are changing the schedule, buy Man U is doing well with largely English players, probably as they speak the same language and understand each other

    More Englanders for me

  33. Lee says:

Afternoon Marinello….yeah funny old lot those yids, the “mind the gap” texts have dried up too……wankers the lot of em! 😉
    M’Vila is a Frenchman Alan……..

  34. rico says:

I think a few clubs will be JM, we need to get in their quick, IF, he is on Wengers mind….

I’m not sure he is though….

  35. rico says:

    Hi Marinello, Lee and Alan

I’d rather M’vila than Song, i’d tell the latter sign or i will replace you,… but just can’t see Wenger buying him 🙁

Lee, it’s the yids that need to be minding that gap, it’s closing quicker than our chickens auto pop hole 😛

  36. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry Dev had to vanish and actually look like I was workin… Not checked out your video’s of the Brazilian I will a bit lata mate….. Where does spirit come from…??? Well it’s been there all season in dribs n drabs just nothing consistent in my opinion…! Players jelling and becoming mates teammates helps…? the fact others can see RVP leads by example and that you can see he cares along with TV…! Jenkinson is another that will be infectious to others in the dressing room…? Did they sit and say Milan away was a disgrace and that they won’t let it happen again…? Who knows but what ever it is I don’t want it to vanish I like it just the way it is…!

  37. devilgunner says:

    Hiya W.A.T.H.

check your inbox. If you manage to rise from the floor with laughter I will eat my shoes.

  38. W.A.T.H says:

I replied Dev…. 🙂 I liked very much lol…………. A humorous cowboy 😉 Reminds me a bit of AK and what he would listen to in his cab….

    M’Vila for Diaby in a second…..! plus Song…!

  39. rico says:

Sorry to be the old fart this afternoon, but i don’t think we’ll sign either Gotze or M’Vila, too expensive…

    Jussi
    JV
    Nzonzi
    Hoilett
    Podolski

    🙂

  40. agirlagunner says:

Booo!! Or should I say Poo, Lady Old Fart?? 😉 😀

I missed the game. 🙁 But this is a really good match summary, rico. Serves that Krul right!

I think we’ll get another big or biggish name signing though, as the Podolski deal seems close to done. Well, ! shall continue to hope.

    Hello, all!

  41. agirlagunner says:

😀 rico. Yeah, Vertonghen looks to be a sound signing, maybe we look at Hazard again. 😉

Loved the celebrations and Robin winding Krul up. RvP becomes more of a captain with each match. Love it!

  42. devilgunner says:

I would get M’Vila and put him there behind Song. You might say…Frimpong. Coquelin??? Well Frimpong could well play as backup to these two while Coquelin can be our Mr Versatility. He can play RB, LB, CDM. I have a feeling that he can also play centrehalf if needs be.

  43. rico says:

    I don’t want us to sign Hazard……..

I loved the spat too, Nigel Winterburn suggested that RvP was tellingKrul to leave the ball in the back of the net to time waste as it didn’t matter anymore, we’d won 😆

Don’t know if anyone else watched the Sky coverage, but Gary Neville loved the spat too, he was quite complimentry 😆

  44. devilgunner says:

Personally I prefer Vertonghen. Both him and M’Vila would give us the height we used to enjoy in the 1998 to 2004 era.

Like you I do not like Hazard. To put it simply he is that…a hazard to the present squad morale. And if he considers the scum from the slum then he aint worth it.

  45. rico says:

I remember that Lee, he was on the edge of his seat wasn’t he, really wanted us to get two more goals…

I love the way he talks about our clashes with Utd too, he has great respect for us..

    Unlike Redknapp etc etc…

Was never a fan of Neville after what he did to Reyes, but as a pundit, he’s doing well in his first year, didn’t think i’d ever be saying that though…..

  46. rico says:

Spot on, and stop spouting on about RvP’s contract, it’s got feck all to do with him, and it doesn’t run out until 2013!!

Do you watch ‘a league of their own’ lee?

  47. agirlagunner says:

Neville is doing pretty well, if I may say so myself. His observations are pretty much spot on. 😯 Didn’t think I’d ever say that either, rico. 😀

Hi, Devil. 🙂 I hope that at least two really good ones are brought in. It’s not impossible if we are able to move the non-performers. Trim that squad; AA seems to want to return though. I really would not mind as he can be a fantastic player, but he needs to work harder and show he cares!

Lee, howdy? I saw your flipper shoe. Ahaha. That is such a sad shoe. 😉

  48. devilgunner says:

Arshavin coming back?? That is a no no for me.

    Hope you are ok AGAG.

Righto. Off for around two hours. be back later.

    c u all mates

  49. rico says:

Laters devil, hope you are feeling better..

I love the ribbing JR gets on that show, about his looks etc and his M&S adverts….

Can’t help but love Bish though, even though he’s a scouser 😉

  50. W.A.T.H says:

I have just heard Diaby is injured again…………….

He was off to do a bit of yoga and fell over putting on his leg warmers and has concussion and pulled his groin…………..

Lee, hope your not too gutted mate………..! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

  51. devilgunner says:

Diaby injured again??? leg pulling mate?? because the last time I read was that he was pencilled in for Everton

  52. devilgunner says:

Ehhhhh??? Tom and Dick??? what’s that???

you mean a bit poor?? Yeah mate. And I will go off to sleep soon. at least there are no feelings of nausea anymore.

  53. W.A.T.H says:

GG to the rescue Dev get a pint of GG down ya…..

    tom n dick = sick… 😉

He’s do his back as well getting in the leotard AK…!

  54. devilgunner says:

    Nighty all.

I hope to feel better tomorrow. have not been near training grounds for three days now.

c u mates. you were a fine company today and yesterday evening.

off to dream that we are spanking Everton with TommyV continuing his scoring vein with Kozzer blasting one from the centre circle and Songinho curls in a couple.

  55. Scott From Oz says:

Rico,Brett Holman has been a premier league player in waiting for a few years now.
Quick, intelligent and a great deal of enthusiasm.
AV have done well, and I’m surprised its taken this long, tbh.
Not quite sure if he’s an Arsenal type player, but have no fear,he will turn out a good buy.
Hes scored some great long range goals, too, including a few in the last world cup………yes,Australia WERE there lol.
He’s been our best player on the international scene for the last few years.
Old school type worker, but with decent skills.
    Morning all.
    Off to work today……damn.

  56. rico says:

Thanks for that Scott, i’d nebver heard of him, good for Villa then….

Let’s hope we get our signings done as quickly….

  57. Lee says:

Yeah WATH he really enjoyed it….the kebab gaff before was really good…Mangal on Arcola st! Bit of history lesson, showing me the flats that my great great grandmother lived opposite clips sold park.

  58. W.A.T.H says:

    Night Rico….

Glad he enjoyed it Lee, great atmosphere and result as well… My Dad lived in Manor Rd and used to walk through clissold park every other sat….. It’s nice that we’re told where the family were all from so we know to pass it on…! I do like a decent kebab Lee will have to try remember that gaff…!

  59. Lee says:

My nan & grandad used to live in a block of flats on the Woodbury downs estate by manor house…..probably wouldn’t bethat safe now!! 😉

  60. allezkev says:

My Grandparents lived on that Woodberry Down estate Lee.
    Alladale House if i recall.
Then they move to Thamesmead. And that’s an interesting place!!!

  61. Lee says:

Their block of flats was next to the river….I can’t remember the name of it I’ll ask dad tomorrow! I suppose it’s not really “a small world” or “a massive coincidence” as we all follow The Arsenal 🙂

  62. Lee says:

As you say the nucleus was Highbury, the team The Arsenal and it just got passed down the generations…..

  63. allezkev says:

That’s right Wath. All my extended family lived a 20min bus ride away when i was a kid.
Now were all over the place.
Lee my Grandparents flats were next to a large field/open space, where all the kids played.
    Can’t remember any road names.

  64. Lee says:

On that bombshell I’m turning it in my good friends, good chatting to you…..catch you all tomorrow!!! Good night!!!!!

  65. Lee says:

That was outside the front of my nan & grandad’s block, where the kids played….the river was behind them and the lock up garages to the left! But I’ll get the name of their block off pops!

  66. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers Lee, night mate….. Oh and mean’t to ask… have you been to Palace Spice in Battersea…? a mate went said it was brilliant….!?!?!?

  67. Scott From Oz says:

There’s some very good Aussie kids coming through who are potentially(I know that’s a broad term ) are premier league quality.
Sissies produce great youth teams, but once we get to around 18 or 19,we lose something.
I believe until then our physical attributes help, but in the late teens, our lack of technical ability kills us.
Some good foreign coache’s at the youth level are helping.

  68. alan b'stard M P says:

Scott, Kennedy should play EPL. The game in Oz is presently under scrutiny for corruption at the highest level, to the point that Clive Palmer, a billionaire is threatening to start his own comp

Australian football will never improve until it has regular matches against England, as we do with rugby and cricket, and frigging lawn bowls

There are some good Oz players but they need to get away from Oz, like Clive James and Germaine Greer, and hopefully, they will be better exports than the latter, or Peter tatchell

You wanna ruin and Oz talent? Keep him in Oz
