Lacazette to Juve? Mo could be off too..

Morning all.

The international break is over thank goodness and hopefully, all the Arsenal players will return to the club injury free. At least they have five days before Crystal Palace come to The Emirates for our Monday night fixture.

England totally cocked up their World Cup group fixture by drawing with Hungary. Four points from the remaining two fixtures will see them qualify automatically. San Marino and Albania stand in their way. There was trouble at Wembley last night but to be honest I wasn’t surprised when I read about it. According to Sky Sports, the away fans booed the home team for taking a knee, held up a banner against the gesture for equality, fought with police in the stands, and released a flare when they scored. One arrest was made for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward.

Talking of the World Cup, Arsene Wenger claims that offside decisions will be ‘automated’ for the Qatar World Cup to speed up the process as he admits VAR ‘still needs to be perfected’.  That’ll be interesting to see I think. I do agree with him though when he says decision making is taking too long when it comes to offside and even after scrutinising video footage, the decision made in the end can sometimes appear to be wrong. Or clearly wrong as in the case of Kylian Mbappe, whose winner for France against Spain was definitely offside. Amusingly, Anthony Taylor was involved in that one.

During this break, a few Arsenal players have scored goals which should only give them more confidence when back playing for their club. Nicolas Pepe opened the scoring in Ivory Coast’s 2-1 win against Malawi, ESR spared England under 21’s blushes by nabbing the only goal of the game and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the first and set up the second as Gabon secured a 2-0 win over Angola. Martin Odegaard and Mo Elneny were involved as their respective countries won their fixtures too.

The Champions League returns for the Arsenal women this week as they take on Hoffenheim tomorrow evening. Kick off is at 8pm.

After signing Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer from Arsenal, Juventus are hoping to do the same with Alexandre Lacazette, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato. I’m sure they’ll get him too if they offer the same kind of salary they gave Ramsey. However, we all know how that turned out. Can’t say I’m particularly fussed where he ends up because if Arsenal need to move him on or if he’s turned down Arsenal then so be it. Arsenal will survive that’s for sure. The same goes for Mo Elneny who rumours suggest could be off in January if he can terminate his contract with Arsenal. He’s not playing for his club so I can understand him wanting to move and if it means Arsenal don’t have to pay the rest of his six months of contract, it’s a win win situation I think.

Also, it would free up a place in the squad for an overseas player to join us in the winter transfer window.

I’ve waffled on long enough…

Catch up in the comments.

Good morning Rico I like a bit of waffling….especially with either honey or raspberry jam. 😉

If Juventus want Lacazette in January they will have to cough up £15/20 million. I just hope they don’t try a swap deal using Ramsey as bait.

Partey scored too by the way.

Morning Cicero. I don’t think I’ve ever had a waffle.

Agree re Juve but they’ll probably hold on until the summer, as no doubt will Arsenal. I wrote about Partey and Saka’s goals the other day. Don’t want to repeat myself otherwise Kev will tell me off. 😂

    afternoon Rico and all
All but injuries to Auba I recon Laca will go in January to make way for another striker or we will bring back 1 of our players out on loan.

Rico, If Xhaka is out for 3 months (which is a very bad news by the way, considering how important he has become) then MO goes no where in January.

    Thanks for the waffle Rico…

I wonder what the future holds in store for Joe Willock? Will he survive a major churn in playing staff or will he be a casualty of the expected changes…

  6. rico says:

I expect Joe Willock will be safe for a while because he’s English but I suppose much depends on who replaces Bruce. If it’s Conte, Willock will be gone I suspect.

  7. Aussie Geoff says:

Rico if Auba doesn’t start kicking a lot of goals he will be lucky if he makes the bench for his country. LOL

On yesterday’s subject however I heard that Ozil is a little fed up in Turkey and fancies a return to Newcastle .

    Money ,Money , Money.

Well that sounds very much like a Dr Sogut piece of internet spin if I ever heard one…

Sogut must have a doctorate in talking bollocks and ripping off naive football clubs.

Silly season has come early , Now Lacazette is the pawn in a swap for Gareth Bale . Don’t these people ever get tired.

I got this from a friend off of twatter , a spud taking the juice.
