Morning all.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Arsenal FC have a ladies team, once a very good one too which has won nearly everything on offer in the women’s game. One player who has been part of the glory days is Kelly Smith who yesterday announced her retirement from the game. She’s not going far though as the club have soon enrolled her on the coaching team.
There’s no doubting Smith will be regarded as a club legend, after all, the ladies have won twenty major trophies since her arrival in 1996, including a quadruple winning season of 2006–07 in which she scored 30 goals in 34 games in all four competitions. If only the men had a striker of such calibre.
Kelly Smith is probably one of the best players to grace the women’s game here in England and was shortlisted for FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year award four times and won the FA Player of the Year award twice. Not only has she shone for Arsenal but for England too and currently holds the record for the most goals scored for her country. She has over 100 caps for England, something which no doubt played a key role in her being awarded and MBE for her services to women’s football back in 2008.
I know most of you won’t be interested in what goes on in the ladies game but they are part of the club we all love. Similar can be said of the under 23’s – while players are working hard and trying to push into the first team, only a few fans follow them, trying to spot the next real deal.
But the point of this post is not just to congratulate Kelly Smith on her fine career at the club but to ask why the ladies management can see what an influence she could have in a coaching role, yet Arsene Wenger seldom does, not that it’s always his fault I hasten to add.
Thierry Henry preferred to work with Sky Sports rather than be part of our coaching role, Mikel Arteta jumped ship to work with Pep and as far as I know, only Sir Bobby and Freddie (under 15’s) from Wenger’s days as manager are involved in any kind of coaching at the club and Bobby isn’t even listed on the coaching staff on the official website. Still, his face pops up in the training session photos so that’s good enough for me.
Martin Keown breezed in back in 2006 and helped to our only Champions League Final but he was soon gone and of course, Steve Bould is the assistant manager but what he actually does I don’t know. I honestly believed than when he took over from Pat Rice, our defending would improve, after all, Bould was a bit of a solid defender himself but I don’t think we’ve been that good at defending since the season in which Sol Campbell had a meltdown yet it’s not like we’ve always had terrible defenders or midfielders.
Arsenal’s coaching staff has changed much under Arsene Wenger.
Primorac: 1997 – present, Banfield: 1997 – present and Peyton: 2003 – present…..
And we wonder why little improves.
Transfer Gossip:
Arsenal will renew their interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this month, according to sources in Spain write The Telegraph. Spanish website OK Diario suggest Real Madrid want him to stay but should they sign any players this month, Morata could leave…
The Sun suggest Carl Jenkinson is heading to Crystal Palace and it’s not a loan. Nope, Big Sam wants him there on a permanent deal. He’ll certainly learn how to defend under Sam, that’s for sure, just stay away from brown envelopes Carl…
Wojciech Szczesny is another going for good apparently as Roma hope a £15 million offer will secure the Pole for the future.
That’s it for Thursday, have a good day guys and gals….
Morning all.
Our First Lady to have a her statue grace The Emirates?
Why not?
Good question Scott..
She might yet I guess….
It’s remarkable what Kelly Smith have achieve through her career. She’d pass it on to the boys at Colney too!
We could do with Viera and Db10 teaching players how to play/read the game in the backroom. I bet Primorac and co. are all yes men. The kind of which wenger likes! They must be very comfortable with such a job security.
Morning Rico. I have heard the Emirates really bouncing with atmosphere. Just not very often. The win against Barcelona a few years back when Arshavin scored that goal was amazing.
Morning and thanks Rico.
I`ve watched Arsenal Ladies plenty of times !…..sometimes from behind a bush when inspecting the pollination of them from insects, but mostly on TV and I can honestly say that Kelly Smith is better than Sanogo !.
From last post I notice some talk about our London rivals stadiums, this has been a concern of mine for years and I cant see nothing but trouble for us when Chavs ( who are already a pain in the arse without the need for a stadium ), Spuds and W Ham get up and running !…………………we will demise quickly because thay willl have the same income as us,b ut more importantly fan owners who will eventually out spend us……sorry !….back to KroenkeGate !.
In a fair world we would all have similar stadiums and owners who all spend as much as each other and then it would probably be down to who has the best manager !.
Kroenke Out !
As much as I detested Fergie Marshall, he wasn’t afraid to change his staff, or listen to them it seems…
Morning Adam – I bet a few NLD’s were noisy too…
Morning Lc.
Rachael Yankey was another very good player, she too would give Sanogo a run for his money…
Marshall, I’d love to see Dennis as manager at some point.
Adam, that was a hell of a game, even on the Tele 🙂
Arshavin…….now there truly is a wasted talent.
His cross to Henry was the cross maybe a handful of players in world football could’ve done.
On his day, he was untouchable…the other 364 days a year…….
Rico, she’s been a hell of a club servant so I’d vote yes for the statue.
LC, maybe West Ham and Spuds kicking our arse will shock the club into action.
Rather we didn’t have to wait that long, though that!!
Anyone see Chavs new stadium plans got the OK !……………as a connoisseur of architecture I love the look .
https://pics.onsizzle.com/Facebook-Chelseas-new-stadium-plans-bb58b0.png
Problem with us building first others were always going to try and better ours, although The Spuds cant do nothinf about theirs being in a ghetto slum !…………you know the old saying…….It`s better to have the worst house on the best street than the best house on the worst street !…………..it`s like putting a pearl necklace on an ugly wife !…………….. 😉
Rico. On occasion they were but there seems a creeping inevitability around the club which we have discussed many times. Who knows what it could or couldn’t become if things change. As for the other stadiums being built, they will be ok if they avoid the torpor that Arsenal are currently suffering.
LC, would it be cynical to suggest their stadiums capacity will be one more than ours?
Probably a disservice comparing the likes of top female footballers to Sanogo…………..the top women footballers are just as skillful as men from what I`ve seen and it only comes down to physicallity at the end of the day !……………although I bet there are a few lady bruisers who could terrify Arshavin with one look !. 🙂
I should talk……my missus scares the shit out of me !
You know the Spuds would do it by just one seat if they had too, Scott………………….but we could increase ours if we wanted to…………………..just wait `till they have finished theirs……scummy bastards !
It really wouldn’t surprise me, LC.
I saw a show recently on Football Rivalries and they discussed the topic with leaders of the supporters clubs over there.
I’m not joking, the guy in charge of that lot was just off the planet.
We are the small club.
We do everything to copy them.
We play shit football and they play the beautiful game.
It was hard not to feel sorry for the guy lol
Scott, I get the same old thing every time I speak to a Spud and it`s……” yeah, but we were the first British team to win a European Trophy “……………….deranged and deluded !.
Then there`s me !……….you will never catch me trying to argue a point with ManU or Dippers, what`s the point in trying to look deluded and deranged when they have won more trophies !
Right gym time, this deranged body doesn`t look after it`s self !
Enjoy 🙂
We’re delighted to announce that three of our first-team stars have committed their futures to the club by signing new long-term contracts.
Francis Coquelin, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny have all extended their stays in north London by agreeing new deals.

No surprise really Adam as our results against them haven’t been that good over the last few years…
One will excite everyone.
One will excite most.
One will excite half or so 🙂
Stability is a good thing in a squad but the longer the Alexis and Ozil sagas drag on, the worse things will get.
The other clubs building/extending their stadiums already have young ambitious managers in place, so I doubt they’ll struggle as we have…
Yep, even Bilic… 🙂
Evening all,
I don’t know what to say about that proposed Chav stadium, other than, where does the bog roll holder go. It looks shithouse, literally ?
Rico, wasn’t Wenger ambitious at the same stage?
I wonder if Wenger spent too long battling financial restraint and now can’t really adjust.
Similar to a Moyes who battled with a mid table club, failing to adjust to a massive one, if that makes sense.
Just a thought.
Not really Scott… 😉
I still don’t think it’s about finances. It’s about doing what he can with the players he’s had… And not wasting the money he did have back then on garbage players…
It’s certainly not bout finances now, and hasn’t been for 3/4 years, according to Ivan, but it most definitely was before that.
All clubs waste money on poor buys so he shouldn’t be singled out for that, though whether he gets the best out of his squad is definitely relevant.
Other clubs do, but they get rid of theirs, Arsene Wenger carries on believing in them… imo..
Rico, I doubt anyone would disagree with that comment.
Even you Scott? 😉 😉
Even me, Rico.
I’ve always openly said that Wenger has his faults-this is one of them.
I know, there’s far too many to list….
You and me both Scott, Re Dennis Bergkamp being a coach at Arsenal. We don’t have to worry about flights anymore since there is even a train from London to China! only takes 18 weeks.
Rico, true about Fergie, he constantly changed coaches and welcomed new ideas.
Good morning Rico and all..
Re’ stadiums of London rivals…; what folks may be forgetting is that when we built our stadium the TV money was a shadow of current revenue;
If we had similar resources without recourse to loans and the constraints we might not have had to minimise our expectations.
Also city were one game from relegation into div 3, and when 2 years were being gifted a brand spanking new stadium;
Also if Vichai had not had the Thai political officials after him he might not have sold to the Qatari’s and the landscape might not have changed…
Payet has told West Ham he wants out….
Payet refusing to play for Westham is in the headlines. Can we trade Feo and his blender?
Bilic has just confirmed that Payet story Marshall but refuses to sell him….
Ts now that we don’t have those constraints anymore, what is going wrong?
What’s the odds of Payet being an Arsenal player by the end of January…. ?
Just seen so Rico. He will eventually. Everyone got a price.
On the stadiums I dread how it will be when the Spuds finally get that Shanty up, and they can go toe to toe with us in terms of wages- am sure they’ll offer more hence attract quality players since it’s mostly about the money nowadays.
Last season and this they have been better than us, with more revenue they will surpass us. Like how the chavs and Mancs did.
Hi Ts.
Marshall, that’s the age old question.
Arsene, Stan, or both 🙂
http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2017/01/12/31429092/giroud-koscielny-and-coquelin-extend-arsenal-deals?ICID=HP_BN_7
January signings yay!
10.10am Marshall 😉
Scott, For me, both! Stan said himself he’s not in it for the trophies. And Wenger had done enough. So they both go. Wenger has the option to out this summer, I hope he takes it. Stan can’t leave as of yet since the money has just started pouring in. Unless Usmanov give him an offer he cannot refuse.
Scott/ Marshall- on paper the idea of Dennis becoming our manager will be a dream come true but fact is he is not equipped for it nor do Ajax think he is managerial material. May ast some point he might change his mind and want to become more than an assistant manager/coach
After De Boer one would have thought Ajax being as innovative as they are would have appointed him instead of Bosz who did not even play for Ajax but feyenord and Goonie’s team Vitesse.
Haha blimey! am slow today Rico. Beat me twice.
Seems talks with our French players are always smooth. There’s no need for an interpretor. Sanchez’ will take a while
Perhaps Ajax didn’t appoint Dennis because a) he once said he doesn’t want to be a manager or b) his non-flying issues..
Or c) both…
Ginge, Ajax are wrong 🙂
The issue is Dennis doesn’t want to manage….
Marshall, I reckon you’re right……do you think Arsene will leave, though?
We all know Stan won’t push him.
The status quo will continue, I believe.
🙂 Marshall..
Sanchez speaks English now doesn’t he… lol
Rico, he did catch a flight a while back, apparently.
Marshall, she just nailed me at 11.40 as well.
Dodgy dealings 🙂
Ts from this link he said he doesn’t really look forward to be the top coach/manager. I read elsewhere he was offered by ajax but he opted to remain as the assistant. My guess is cause of his well known phobia.
http://www.espnfc.com/arsenal/story/2863339/arsenal-legend-dennis-bergkamp-has-no-plans-to-move-into-management
Scott, I didn’t know that…
Rico, it was, again, apparently, maybe 12 or 18 months ago….I remember reading it somewhere and am sure I mentioned it on here, but I could be wrong.
Maybe it was just another January rumour lol.
Scott, haha Rico is ahead of everyone today. About the status quo I believe you. I bet Stan and Arsene have harmonious relationship where Wenger doesn’t bother Stan with transfer funds and Stan doesn’t pressure Wenger with ambition, both happy fellas. Why would either wonna ruin it?
Rico, I bet Sanchez hasn’t learnt to say ambition in English. There’s a little niggle there.
Im off-night all.
Rico, I’ll have a little peep tomorrow and see if I can find anything.
I most definitely remember reading about it but that doesn’t mean the story was accurate.
Night guys.
DB10 used to fly, then alittle mishap (snakes on the plane) got him a phobia 😉
Maybe our Oz shrink can cure him from that.
Seems it’s true love between them. Marshall lol
Morning All
Morning Rico
Dmitri Payet refusing to play for West Ham isn’t exactly the kind of behaviour that makes me wanna see him in an Arsenal shirt.
At 29 is he really gonna get any better or just go into a gradual decline?
Nope, not interested in another self-centred millionaire.
Let him piss off to China, that’s more his scene…
I feel sorry for the West Ham who lionise him, a bit like we use too with Van Persie…
Football and footballers are fast losing their allure to me…
There are all kind of answers on Quora, I believe the ’94 one where engine shutdown mid-air
https://www.quora.com/Why-is-Dennis-Bergkamp-afraid-of-flying
Night Scott…
Or ‘where do I sign Arsene’….? Marshall
Morning Kev, Bilic has suggested Payet has been tapped up so that rules us out, we don’t work in such a way do we?
Bilic is really angry…
Marshall- yeah… I believe he does not see himself as a managerial material.
Scott- you get all nostalgic when it comes to King Dennis.:-)
Marco and Blind Snr. all commented on that a few years back…
Not sure Dennis has learnt from the best considering De Boer has shown his opinion of himself does not necessarily make him a great manager.
At Ajaz he spent a lot and he also had legends as his assistant but he could not beat Philip cocu at Psv
We certainly trod water when we could have pushed on with the stadium advantage. From a financial position it made sense to live within our means but from a football sense we failed to maximise our advantage . Water under the bridge now , but the books look good.
I can’t see any signings in January as we are just securing those that we already have to a pay increase . The Payet thing is interesting but unless one of our superstars confirms they want out I can’t see where he would fit . Maybe in the summer but if we are getting into the money West Ham will want , I would be looking around for alternatives now.
Kev, Suarez also refused to trained when we offered a pound more than his release clause 😉
Maybe Payet has ambition of playing in the UCL, and he sees he has only one last chance of doing so. He could not have extended his contract imo.
I hope it’s that Rico.
If Alexis`s first words in English are….”Mental Strength”…….then I will truly go over the edge !
I’m with Kev re Payet, although I think he’d be good for us, sulkers aren’t what we need…
I’d take Payet myself.
That’s true Marshall, but the Suarez deal seemed a murky affair.
A good friend of mine and one of the most reliable ITK’s in East London, told me of Suarez and his agent trying to engineer a move to Highbury, in the May before the story broke later in that summer.
Of course if Suarez’s agent was offering the Uruguayan to us then he was probably hawking him around Serie A and La Liga at the same time…
Payet is a good player, but we’ve already got quite a few moody players who turn it on when it’s that time of the month… ?
If not Payet, any of you take Idris ? 😀
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38595523
Thought you would Adam… 😉
When was the last time we scored a freekick? Do they train them or it’s just the passionate players who are left behind and see who can kick it the furthest. They are essential part of the games and they won us the Leicester game last season at the Ems
Might help if Alexis didn’t take all our free kicks..
Rico. 🙂
R.I.P Graham Taylor
Santi Cazorla takes a wicked free kick Marshall and fortunately AW is gonna sign him up for next season.
That’s sad news Ginge….
Crikey, that’s a shock…
RIP Graham Taylor..
Seriously though, why does Alexis take them on the right, when we have two left-footers in Ozil and Xhaka?
🙂 kev re santi.
Sanchez is trying to be like Van purse-strings
Kev, hah how many games will Sanchez feature?
I’d like to see Perez have a go on one. Teams would be fearing fouling us within range hence let us place. Sanchez wants all the toys.
Sad re Graham Taylor
Does he actually trust anyone else to take one.
Xhaka should take the ones on the right, his left foot is a bullet…
Wenger should maybe rotate the takers of free kicks on a game by game basis, thus adding variety to our play and uncertainty to the opposition…
But Arsene doesn’t do variety does he…?!
Marshall, I think that when Santiago is fit, he’ll feature in most games and we’ll all be delighted about that.
He remains our only midfielder who can do the job that he does and he does it very well.
I actually think we have missed him – big time…
Scott at 11:40, Stan recently fired his NFL coach who has lost more game in the NFL than any other coach. For this to happen several past players, including hall of famers, basically were taking ads in news papers and going on talks shows urging Stan to let him go and unbeknownst to anyone Stan had given him a 2 year extension before the season.
Kev, Payet refusing to play don’t make him a sulker… we don’t know what the team promised him that they didn’t fulfilled or what’s going on behind the scenes. Contracts notwithstanding, when teams want to sell a player is ok, but when a player want to leave it’s not? Sell him to a Siberia team if you must, but ship him out.
Re, former players in the coaching ranks: I find it peculiar that many of us want that but when we extend older players i.e., Per, that people complain about that when it’s a given that most of these veterans end up coaching at their last clubs.
Obi- Payet has a history similar to Wiltord’s.
He is a RM fan but as always an Arsenal fan inasmuch as using us as a stepping stone. 😉
TS , I understand but as long as the club knows the type of player they are getting am ok with that.
Agreed Obi- but we fans get very emotional with football forgetting footballers are now ‘Professionals’ i.e no more a vocation
Sad about Graham Taylor……….I was hoping he would succeed Pochetino at Spuds, but on the bright side, he wont be Wenger`s replacement !
RIP
The big mistake at this season is not to have gone to get Sissoko. I’ve posted this in september. Judge me in May.
JM, ironically, Sissoko had engineered a move to Arsenal and Newcastle wanted 15m at the time. Arsenal didn’t take him, because by that time Xhaka was on board already. The story is that while Newcastle were getting relegated Sissoko were telling people he’s on his way to Arsenal. That was the reason the Spuds deal for 30m was done late because he was still waiting on Arsenal ….smh.
OK JM………………………..if in May you are found guilty what would your prefered punishment be ?……………………Electric Chair ?…….Firing Squad ?……..The Noose ?……..Life Imprisonment ?……………Erotic Asphyxiation by 12 Nympho`s ?…………..
LC, I am not jumping off the Sonogo train. I have seen the abilities the kid showed at the Youth level. You don’t finish among the scoring leader and Golden Boy voting for FIFA World Cup on a fluke. LC, my good man, Sonogo will be a Club legend…..especially if he gets the years that others get to stay at AFC.
Too late Obi !…………………..I`ve just been on facebook and swapped him for Payet with my West Ham nephew ! 😆
I have a very white garden… 🙂
Evening guys…
Lc, little do you know, he’s been on ebay for the last year and not one person has bid for him… 😉
Kev, I agree we have terribly missed Cazorla. Nobody does better. We should be thinking about his replacement though cause soon he can’t play two/three games in a week on the regular.
Bloody Hell Rico !………I want some snow !……………not fair !
You can have it LC….
When can you deliver and can you guarentee no melting ? 😆
Read today that there is going to be a Star Wars spin off about a young Han Solo……..cant wait ! 🙂
Morgan Schneiderlin is off to Everton..
Obi tall players often excel at youth level but when they get into adult football they find that there advantage is diminished. There are any number of players who at junior levels looked to be the business and we have had quite a few at the Arsenal going back to Kevin Campbell, Reid and Shaw , Lupoli and Bendtner, Owusu Abeyie to name a few . Campbell made a career in football but was never prolific without Alan Smith or Wrighty alongside him. As his career went on he became a similar player to Emile Heskey . Sanogo may yet come good but not at the level that The Arsenal requires in my opinion.
Rico, are certain its not white paint in your garden? 🙂
Exactly, potter !…………..said this many a time and Kev Campbell is a fine example, built like a bruising middle weight boxer he was physically ahead of his young peers, but no great shakes when up against full grown men in the real world of football.
Snow on Dartmoor @ 15 miles away !
rico, sometimes it’s easy to forget we have a men’s football team as well lol !
Obi 2.47…
I’m sorry Obi, I’m weary of reading about players signing new contracts on improved terms and then having a drama because things haven’t worked out exactly as they were told. Try knuckling down and helping things improve by your own efforts instead of blaming everyone else…
West Ham have had an appalling run of injuries this season, that probably explains their awful season up till now, that and the new stadium. So as the best player at the club, why not redouble your efforts to help the club you was very happy receive a signing on fee from…
Sorry, it’s all about one thing?
Money….
Potter point well taken…. especially in the USA with basketball and NFL football you see that a lot.
Kev, the funny thing is Payet didn’t want to go to West Ham anyways, so they knew it was a temporary situation. His disappearing self thinks he’s better than West Ham, so you knew the minute things went south he would want out.
Curiously it works the other way too. Very tall defenders like for example Per are not dominate in the air . Mainly because when they are young they don’t have to jump to win the ball and don’t learn to time their leaps.
Obi, from what I understand, he never wanted to leave Marseilles…
Payet may dream of Real Madrid, but I doubt that Madrid dream about him.
His age and the fee West Ham would demand, will probably rule him out as far as Arsenal are concerned. At 29 I think that that train has left the station. If Wenger was gonna take a punt it would have been at the time West Ham got him.
What worries me more was that we lost out on Kante!
Maybe Arsenes scouts in France are not as good as we’d like to think they are?
As it is now, I’d rather Arsenal look at younger options.
Payet takes a lovely free kick, but he seems a bit flakey to me…
Just my opinion of course…
Potter, great point.
I ask Sean why Tim Cahill is so good.
I could easily name 10-15 more talented Aussie footballers without trying, yet no player will ever work harder and make the most of their ability like Tim, and that’s the answer.
His heading alone was ridiculous, and I’m not sure of his exact height, but I doubt he’s taller than 5 foot 9 or so, yet he was rarely, if ever, beaten in the air.
It also goes back to my theory on Theo.
Imagine coaching him at 15 years of age?
Kick it long and Theo will just get to it and finish….there’s the game plan.
He probably made his share of coaches look good but none of the bastards ever taught him how to play football.
Good morning Rico, Scott, kev
I am not sure Payet did not want to leave OM; he had a contract on the table for a year but refused to sign because the salary was not high enough…
Vincent Labrune (spelling) OM president said that Payet still had two years to run on his Marseille deal but his wage was set to drop the season after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League. Lil rumour, he was offered £45k by AW before he joined WHU but he refused…; AW allegedly told Jacques, Payet was inconsistent…; oddly before we played OM in the UCL and the French dude who use to post on here, Emma and myself discussed him…
several folks on here said the same about Payet…
As mentioned yesterday Payet ditched Nantes when they were relegated in 2007, he was sent to the reserves at St Etienne after agitating for a move to Paris Saint-Germain and agreed terms with West Ham, unbeknown to Marseille
Google what the French media say about his agent Jacques Olivier Auguste as well…
Footie leaks mentioned he had similar agreement with WHU
Maybe its not that he is troublesome; He is a french employee and he likes going on strike. :-).
Kev- I always thought I was in the wrong business; but Tony Blair’s son becoming a UEFA registered football agent… 🙂 just confirmed it.
I need to go to Ghana and find the new Michael Essien or Tony Yeboah asap…
Seems Chelski are chasing him.
Re Kroenke just woke up this morning to the news that his shiny new $3billion stadium in Los Angeles will have a second NFL team playing in it as well as his own, meaning that any loan he has to take out to pay for said stadium is now halved in size. But he now has competition for a fan base that didn’t exactly enjoy the sight of his hapless Rams this season, so any chance of him focusing more time than usual on his side project in London has disappeared faster than the Chargers left San Diego.
At least with Wenger we had some good times but with Kroenke at the helm and whoever suceeds Wenger I doubt anything will change.I have said for quite a while now that Kroenke is the major problem.he invests hundreds of millions of $ into a ranch, two vineyards, his useless LA Rams but god forbid he would invest what matters to us our club.self sufficent is all well and good but to win prizes you usually have to have a large investment in these crazy times in football. We still have the fourth highest wage bill but often wonder if the wages are justified.Usmanov particularly wanted a seat on the board to see the figures. If his character is dubious is another matter and I fully understand many not wanting him near our club, yet Abramovich isn’t exactly squeaky clean.I want us to compete at the very top not the top or near the top of the second tier in the PL.I maybe wrong and it’s Wenger who is frugal but we will wait and see be it at the end of this season or two years down the line because any manager who eventually replaces AW will want to know the funds available befor he signs.
I think as football supporters our first requirements are to be either winning or at least being in the hunt with realistic chances of trophies. There can be no doubt that these sentiments are not shared by the custodians of the club. They perceive success on a different level, Whether as supporters we supported whichever previous board members we have to agree that they made a poor decision when they sold out and lined their pockets. From a footballing perspective they are prepared to do just enough to keep people hanging on to maintain their policy of not dipping their pockets whilst squeezing every last penny from those with an emotional tie.
We are actually run by geniuses.
As you say, Potter, they do just enough and it’s a fine line they tread, but with Arsenes knack of grinding of top 4 finishes, they just roll on, and the money rolls in.
I wonder if Arsene thinks he’s the clubs saviour by keeping us relatively successful.
He may genuinely believe that.
Morning all.
White stuff coming down heavy now.
Grandaughter ‘s first snow experience. Sounds like a clip from Frozen.
Do you want to build a snowman?
Potter, a decent bushfire has kicked off 20 minutes up the road.
Perfect weather for it, unfortunately.
This wasn’t even filmed on a truly hot day, but a fairly war, one.
https://www.facebook.com/kidsafeaustralia/videos/932438616791817/
Kelsey @9:36, according to the sports talk shows here, Stan will still own the stadium and the Chargers would just be renting. There is no partnership agreement to split the debt…..
TS @7:56 exactly my point with Payet, know who you are getting…..I was surprised when he ended up at West Ham. The rumour is Conte tapped him…
@scottfromoz
Very dangerous.
I know for a fact a father forgot his kids in his car after bringing them from school.
After realising that they are not home mum asks and when went to see outside if they are playing just found three baked little children.Gone all of them.
Afternoon All
Afternoon Rico, great post, although I feel that I’ve read something similar recently. ?
Ginge, you could be right about Payet, I was only judging my comments on a French football journo who was talking on the radio on Weds. I think he works for L’Equipe or someone like that.
He commented that Payet didn’t wanna leave Marseilles, well not for West Ham maybe, so who knows?!
Anyway, I’d be amazed if we went for him.
But if Mr Adam wants him, then who am I to counter his educated observations…
I doff my cap… ?
Ginge, I think you’d make a wonderful agent, maybe a job at Mi6 doing dossiers on American businessmen in Moscow? ?
Ah, I see, Nicky Blair, a super agent in the making, married to a divorce lawyer, a chip off of the old corrupt block eh Ginge?
Alex, that’s a terribly sad story.
Plenty of mums have been caught in Oz leaving kids in cars whilst in the Casino!!!
Can you believe that??
Kev, Ginge is putting together a report on London cabbies, so don’t trust his Mr Nice Guy routine 🙂
First Payet……now Costa ?………………..aparrently he has been dropped for having an argument with two trainers and his head is not there as he has been offered £30M per year by a Chinese club, his agent is in China !………………………….I`ve said it before, this is just the start for the China revolution in football !……………….in a few years time it will turn football on it`s head and who knows what is aound the corner or what will happen…..well apart from all the talent going there and more and more players throwing their dummies out of the pram…………will it will turn a lot of fans away from the game ?…..will we get sick and tired of their tantrums ?……………….I`m already bored with it and it`s not even our players……yet !……………….will mega billionaires eventually turn to the Chinese game ?…………will the TV turn to it ?………………….one thing that has never changed in all walks of life and that`s…………….. money talks and China is spending it quicker than Adele can eat a doughnut !.
Ahem…..chinese spring .lol
Rivers Thurne , Bure and Yare over the banks tonight , high tide about half hour away . Been down to the bridge tonight loosening peoples mooring ropes so that they are not too tight and damage the mooring cleats . This is one penalty of living on a river system , certain local villages being evacuated from sea ingress and high water. Northerly winds and a full moon ,we get it twice a year but they don’t do much about flood defence.
Barca and Real will suddenly support FFP, and that’ll be that.
It’ll become a worldwide regulation.
Potter, incredible we are talking and I’m copping another 40 plus day……
Funny old world.
Morning all.
Morning Scott and all..
Scott is all at the moment, Rico 🙂
Sleep in Saturday Scott….
In that weather, every day should be a sleep in, Rico 🙂
I woke up at 2am in a lather of sweat, went outside and I’m not joking, it was easily still 30 degrees and humid!!
I’ve never had my air con on during the night, but it went back on then.
I heard today it was the hottest night since they started recording these things…..
Lucky you Scott…
I detest this weather, Rico.
I love 23-24 degrees.
30 is nice.. 😉
New post is up now
