Josuha Guilavogui or Gareth Barry! Five days and still counting Arsene!

Morning all..

So another day passes us by without change.

We still sit at the bottom of the ‘summer signings’ list having spent a big fat zero pounds….

Will today be the day that changes?

Somehow I doubt it but I can only hope like the rest……

Apparently we have been interested in signing Ozil, Benzema and Di Maria from Real Madrid but all three players have reiterated their desire to stay with the La Liga giants – whether or not that is just players talking the right talk who knows but if it’s all true and they were targets of Wengers, what will he do now?

Were they a plan A, or a plan D? I thought Higuain was a plan A, after all we agreed a hefty £25m deal with Real Madrid until they moved the goalposts, at which point Wenger walked away from the deal. When asked why, Wenger said ‘because he was not a special target’.

So who our the ‘special targets’ I wonder. I’m beginning to doubt that Arsene Wenger knows.

Juan Mata is another Wenger has hinted about, having missed out on him a few years ago when he was cheaper, I strongly suspect we wouldn’t go back now that he’s valued much higher. In any case, Jose Mourinho has said he’s not for sale…

At least the days are ticking by and we’ll soon be put out of our misery and then we’ll know exactly where we are and who we have…

One we do is totally looking forward to the NLD on Sunday and despite the neighbours spending big, Theo Walcott believes we are still stronger than them..

What’s he smoking I hear you all say…..

When asked if Tottenham are stronger, he replied:

Not at all. I feel we’re very, very strong.

Everyone makes out our squad is very weak and there are not many of us, but we showed in the last few games that we can bounce back from a bad result, proving a lot of people wrong. Every club is different and Tottenham invested their money very well.

For us players we just want to do a job on Sunday, we don’t care if they have brought in £30 million stars. They have some very good players and a very good manager, but we need to make sure we focus on ourselves. The way we’re playing at the moment we believe we can beat anyone.

Tottenham are playing very good stuff at the moment but we are looking very sharp so for the neutral it’s going to be a pretty impressive spectacle.

One that we better win!

The Capital One Cup draw has dealt us a tricky tie away against West Brom which will take place on the 23rd of September.

In the gossip pages – well there’s not a lot.

The Daily Mail suggest St Etienne midfielder Josuha Guilavogui is the backup option if we can’t get Cabaye. He’s 22 years old and 6′ 2″ so he sounds the ideal build, just what he is like as a player though I don’t know. Maybe one of you do…

Other than that, Gareth Barrys name pops up again in the same paper…!

Finally, it’s the Champions League draw today, let’s hope for a ‘nice’ group….

That’s it for another day……

  1. ArsenalDK says:

    Morning everyone

Who the hell is Guilavogui? And Barry? With £70M+ in the bank, we’re looking to sign players like these? And now wenger is saying that our squad is stronger than the Tiny Totts’? Is he really that deluded?

Anyway, CL draw today. I’m crossing all I can, that we draw FC Copenhagen. That way I can go and watch the game here in Denmark. I’ve been a supporter for 16 years, but haven’t seen a single live game 🙁

  2. devilgunner says:

    Hold your guns yet ADK.

Its Theo who said our squad is stronger than the totts not AW.

Secondly mate……..Guilavoqui is a good player imo. Strong, 6’2 and is one who will make it to the French national team. He would be filling the hole vacated by PV and punctuated full of absences by Diaby.

    Nice post Rico.

We have to hold fort while the Lady of the house is zumbaing away trying to imitate Rocky 1. 😉

  3. ozgunner says:

Josuha Guilavogui – must admit never heard of him either. Did anyone tell Spurs you are not supposed to sign quality players (as they all ask that question of the ECL first according to Wenger) If they did they don’t seem to be listening.

  4. Wavy says:

The only thing I can think of is that, he has cleared out the rubbish from the club – good, great brilliant! Why? To free up places and cash from unspent wages. More money in the bank – good, great brilliant. He hasn’t found any special players to invest in because, in his view they don’t exist. Well not for the kind of money that has changed hands this summer. Also he thinks his squad is good enough, he does have top, top faith in what he has got! He knows he’s a bit short on numbers but if, a huge if, they all remain fit through the season then a good overall finish will be fine! We wait and see. Good, brilliant great!
The real reason behind all this faith and seeming inertia is because he has decided to retire at the end of the season and he has resolved not to leave the club with a basket full of really expensive players that the ‘new man’ doesn’t want on the payroll and or are not resaleable! Thoughtful really. So what ever happens throughout the season and no matter where we finish in the table he will walk away into the Alsace sunset ‘knowing that, overall’ he has done a good job and left the club flush with cash for the new man to spend as he wishes, unencumbered by unwanted overpaid and probably useless players.
In the next couple of days I really hope he proves me wrong and buys a few ‘special’ players but I’m not holding my breath, and then all will be good, great brilliant!

  5. ArsenalDK says:

My bad Devil. Guess I jumped the gun. It’s just annoying that we buy these youngsters, not many have heard of. But if he’s as good as you say than fine by me 😉

Our starting 11 is very strong, but we really lack depth…

This whole “will he” “won’t he” is annoying. Can’t wait ’till the window closes…

  6. devilgunner says:

Then why the hell doesn’t he go now. You might say 7.5 million reasons but I believe he is well set up for a nice luxurious life even if he lives twice as much as he has lived now.

  7. devilgunner says:

Guilavoqui is 22 years old mate.

I would have gone for him and Grenier in a flash. They would have improved our midfield immensely and given us numbers.

If we had got them plus Mata our midfield/forward line would have been very strong.

  8. onyedikachukwu says:

greeting arsenal fan, God this transfer window is getting bored for me as an arsenal fan just hope this man called arsen wenger should pull some deals bofore the end of this transfer window.

  9. Lewis says:

    Morning all.

Everyday that passes in this window my disdain for the board and manager gets stronger. How the fcuk do we find ourselves here? The signings the totes have made we could have afforded all of them, and we would all be on a high, the stadium would be full to the rafters and booming with confidence that this could be the year we finally challenge. Do ‘they’ not understand the emotions we as fans go through?! I’m frankly totally fed up of this penny pinching bullshit and I blame them all, they are all complicit.

Sorry but a bad result on Sunday and I want serious protests and to see resignations. Enough is enough.

  10. Wavy says:

    Sorry. Good morning all.
Good read Rico, very provocative, as you can see/read.

How come Erikson is not on our wish list? DB10recommended him to Wenger a couple of years ago, I thought. So why no action there? Maybe he’s seen as ‘not special’ nor ‘top, top’ quality? We need good promising players to fill holes that seem to be all around the squad.

  11. Adam says:

Morning Oz. Am I alone in feeling the pressure ramping up around the club? Myles Palmer, no bastion of truth himself I admit, reckons the club is for sale at $20,000 a share. Who knows? But the truth, bitter in itself, seems to be that the drama will have to unfold at its own pace, no matter what the intricacies of it all are. But, I find some solace in believing that Arsenal is truly a sleeping giant with an infrastructure that is second to none. If Usmanov does take over, which surely he must as Kroenke has proved himself totally unsuitable, then things might start to happen. Who knows?
What Kroenke has singularly failed to grasp is that, in so many ways, the fans are the club. This is a unique relationship that can only successfully exist under very narrow circumstances where the biggest word is trust. Tell me, how can anybody apart from the usual plonkers and those at Untold Arsenal who will probably blame the refs if Wenger cocks the transfer window up, feel any trust or confidence in the current owner. Because, whatever portion of the blame lies with whoever, he is the owner. He borrowed the money to gain a controlling interest of Arsenal and what is happening is ultimately down to him. He has cocked up at an epic level. Where we are is a frustrating place, a sad place, but I am confident we will rise again.

  12. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

Hi Adk, Dev, WATH, Emma and myself have talked about Joshua G this few months…

Joshua G is a solid player. He is currently ahead of Capoue in the french set-up. His passing range is very high up there in the higher 87%-age. He was always under consideration from day one but St.Ettiene made lots of money from the sale of Pierre Aubameyang to BVB 09 so they are not necessarily in need of money; especially with us offering £5M or so only for him.

  13. rellends says:

arsene knows? do me a favour. hopefully we’ll get barry and won’t have to spend a penny. guilavogui? just because someone might get in the french team doesn’t mean we should sign him. squillaci got in the french team and look what happened there. only “arsene knows” why we’re not in for fellaini. it’s not just a shambles, it’s a fucking omnishambles.

  14. tsgh says:

Additionally he is ahead of Podga and Kondogbia too for one of the DM places next to Cabaye and Valbuena (CAM) in the Le Bleus squad. Of course if Abu Doha can string 2 games together then he walks into the French squad as the whole French set-up consider Diaby more important than even Ribery and Benzema.

  15. devilgunner says:

Adam and Ginge…….get ready to play in the Carling cup vs WBA. Dust off and polish your football shoes, check to see if you got holes in your football socks.

And do get on the threadmill for the next few weeks.

    your pre-season starts now.

  16. ArsenalDK says:

    Morning tsgh.

Devil, I still consider him being a youngster at 22. I mean.. Would he really strenghten us so much? Why didn’t he bid for Fellaini? Christian Eriksen is considered to be the biggest talent to come from Denmark since the Laudrup brothers.. He’s definitely the biggest star in the natioal team. And danish television are reporting that he’s almost signed for the Totts..

  17. devilgunner says:

just for the benefit of Ginge and Adam…………

my earlier post on yesterday’s post which I typed this morning………….

We are drawn vs WBA for the Carling Cup. We used to use it to breed youngsters in it. Now there aren’t many youngsters left.

So we have to put our first team squad in. Hold on. That is threadbare as well.

Hmmm. Maybe AW is going to give the supporters a chance to see who can make it at AFC without costing a transfer fee?

Crappola. Even the Ems supporters are dwindling.

From the INVINCIBLES to the INVISIBLES.

  18. devilgunner says:

Been told that its Rico for keeper, WATH and Kev for CB, Adam for DM while Ginginho will play on the wings.

The coup de grace will be Scott as CF. 😉

And since they are all on a freebie AW will like that.

  19. ozgunner says:

good post Adam – Usmanov is the only hope, I said to Rico a few weeks back if I was the hired hand of Usmanov I would be making some serious noise right now. Recruit one or two old boys and he will get the support to make life difficult for the useless American and his little lap dogs

  20. tsgh says:

” He borrowed the money to gain a controlling interest of Arsenal and what is happening is ultimately down to him. He has cocked up at an epic level. Where we are is a frustrating place, a sad place, but I am confident we will rise again.”

That comment should make every sports article discussing the demise of our club.

As I always say and ask, who sanctioned IG to be given a 300% pay increase in 4 years? Was he really that instrumental in us gaining our current deals?

How can he justify getting a 600k bonus on top of his 1.5M salary? That was not surely sanctioned by Wenger Gaddafi?

We can blame AW for being weak and a walk over because he undoubtly loves the club; but Stan’s other franchises of Denver Nuggets (N)BA, Colorado Rapids (MLS), Colorado Avalanche of the NHL epitomize the definition of steady Joe… imho of course.

  21. snaparse says:

guilavogui is a very good he is a fellaine with a better range of passing and work rate as a st.ettiene fan i can tell you i know about him quite well

  22. Judge me in May says:

    Good Moaning,
Apparently we are waiting to see whom we get in CL draw before we bring our special needs top players..

  23. ozgunner says:

I am still amazed after the trashing Flamini gave us he’s walks back in when clearly no one was interested. Is this a favour to Dein’s kid from Wenger or something?

  24. Wavy says:

To continue the theme of , no players today, no new players tomorrow, no new players this TW, perhaps the club are working on the principle of, if we are short we’ll ask for a few emergency loan transfers to fill the gaps for say, Arteta, Podolski, JW, super Arron, TV, Diaby, the Ox etc etc. problem solved!

What on earth is going on???

  25. GunnerDNA says:

Good morning HH, if people look at the NBA franchise Denver Nuggets they would not b surprised what is happening at afc right now, whoever introduce these Americans to afc should b ashamed of themselves, these fuckers have no regards for football in any other country but America. If Spuds beat us on sunday the fans should stay behind for an hour and sing STAN OUT.

  26. HenryB says:

‘Cat among the pigeons’ springs to mind, Rico, and your Post is all the better for that.

Whatever happens in the next few days, the sense of disappointment is made worse by a number of related and avoidable issues.

First – why the hell did Wenger and Gazidis talk about being in the market ‘early’ and with money for ‘big’ players last May.

Second – becoming so totally fixated with buying Suarez, even after it was obvious L’pool would cut their own throats than let him go to us, and then having no backup plan when the penny dropped was ridiculous.

Third – Wenger saying he would only buy top, top players but there were not many available, or they were not better than what we already have, meanwhile the Spuds were out there hoovering them up by the bucketload, and continuing to do so, is absolutely galling.

Whatever happens now, it will just be a desperate effort to get someone, anyone, and signing freebie Flamini, who no one else wants, is surely a sign of that.

  27. Ruel Carvey says:

I want you all to watch the recent friendly with brazil vs france, and then make your comments about josuha gulavogui, his play was outstanding. He is very defensive minded, strong and a good passer of the ball, from that day i looked him up and said he would be a great buy for arsenal, i m therefore hoping the reports are true that we are in for him. i actually think st. ettiene has been waiting for some one to buy him, because he has not ben playing.

  28. devilgunner says:

Judge me in May……….now that is another reason.

We wait till 1st June for the TW to open.

    Then………

We wait to see how we fare in Pre season.

    Then

We wait to see if we qualify for the CL groups.

    Then

We wait to see who we draw in the groups (if its an easy group we buy no one since we will walk it. if it is a group of death we buy no one since we will not qualify)

    Then

We wait to see what, erm, umhhhhh, gargle, arrrrrrgghhhhhhhhh to see if we manage to beat the Totts on Sunday.

    Then

We wait to see who can be available.

  29. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, Nice one Rico.
I thought i would start my morning off with a moan about the lack of players and how bad the owner and Manager are, but i see that has already been said. Usmanov takeover, not that old thing again. The way i see it if you want to turn Arsenal into an oil or arms club why dont you support the clubs that are that already. Kroenke is running the club at a profit The manager hasn’t done too bad and the team are playing well. Teams around us are spending money they haven’t yet got, and thats wonderful. Perhaps you could be watching the wrong team. We have had the clear out and we have room for players, the Manager knows were thin on the ground and has said he will buy. Why slag him off everyday, your an Arsenal supporter. The window is still open and he usually does his shopping late whats the problem. Its on the 3rd that we can moan if he hasn’t brought.

  30. S2S says:

    Good morning,

We have our second signing of the window. Flamoney. Awesome. So its no to some unknown RB from not much known European team? I think, he’d play RB for next 2 years which will give Hector Bellerin enough time to make it and where by we don’t require to buy new RB.

Ts, you compared Lamela to VP y’day, is he really that good?

  31. kel says:

I agree with the guy that was on Arsenal fan tv, If nothing changes between now and Sunday, then it’s time to hit the board where it hurts in there deep pockets, NO PINTS, NO PIES. NO PROGRAMMES. a simple but a very effective way to protest, the board will soon notice in and around 1 million pound missing per home game. I don’t see any other way guys the club is a mess, and they take us and are money for granted its time to tell the yank the buck stops here.

  32. GunnerDNA says:

dev, allowing Americans to own a football team in england was always going to b a problem, i can guarantee that stan was watching a pre-season NFL game last night and don’t even know today is the draw for the CL. Americans hate footballs, just take a glance at the 1 MLS game…

  33. Woody says:

    Morning All!!

Let’s just hope that the plan is to announce 3-4 top top top quality players before the match at the weekend, with all players being introduced to the fans before the match.

    Please god please….

  34. tsgh says:

Hiya Oz- I was in the US of A when news broke that Stan had taken over, an American colleague said to me in his best Cali accent that ‘ that there is how you get shafted by a yank’.

I know some regular posters who I respect highly btw may think I believe the sunshines from AW’s backside but to me without him at the helm of this club we won’t even be discussing 4 additions to make us challenge.

When Stan and his crew took over Colorado Rapids, according to wiki the ‘Rapids business-wise enjoyed a fantastic inaugural year at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, hosting numerous international exhibitions, tournaments on the stadium’s 24-field complex, and the 2007 MLS All-Star Game; on the pitch though the team’s performance was less than ideal.’

Hmmm does that not souind like howe the Erms is being turned into a banquet hall?

AU laid the whole truth out in his letter post Judas’s sale but a lot of fans surprisingly have refused to analyse the words he used in his letter.

Even Nina has come out starting the same thing in a way after ‘being forced to sell’ allegedly. I do not believe her btw as she can not honestly make PHW and Chips seem like the Russkaya Mafiya or a clan from one of the Sicilian Mafia groups…

  35. jeff wright says:

It’s looking like Gareth Barry on the last day lumbering to the rescue by providing a bit of cover for our injury prone midfield – and to provide some experience for the kids the in the League Cup.
There were some of us who actually predicted that no big signings would be made after Gazidiz boasted about competing with anyone on wages ,etc. He obviously excluded,Real Madrid, United,City ,Barca ,PSG and Scunthorpe.
Ivan’s comments that what excites you might not excite Arsene – and saying that Wenger would want Messi for £25million – who wouldn’t, gave the game away.

  36. tsgh says:

    Hi s2s,

I must clarify that I am not saying Erik is as good as RVP now.

What I said was the way he plays and does not respect senior players reminds me of RVP when he joined us…

Syg and Dev will agree that his attitude was the reason why he and Osvaldo fell out on the pitch…

  37. S2S says:

Now, I understand why Spurs love Levy. He’s a masterclass. The moment Arsenal qualified and fans started becoming happy for short duration, he played yet another card and bought Lamela. He badly wants to win the derby this week and is really trying to get our fans against us. I guess it may work.

Ball is in your court Arsene, either get some players in and dictate or be a scapegoat. And I hope of he’s going to be scapegoat this year again, then its his last year.

  38. Derek Papworth. says:

macpap ses. I am trying to stay positive, and think we will get some great signings!! I sure hope do, cos I dont think I can last 4or5 more day’s.

  39. tsgh says:

Dna, based on your knowledge on the MLS and Stans franchises do you still believe AW has the unlimited backing to buy who he wants?

From what I have heard from certain quarters, can we honestly believe AW will allow Sagna who he rates so highly to be in his last 10 months of his contract?

If AW had the power as the suits have made it out to be, I strongly believe Sagna will be offered the 2 year contract he wants.

His fitness and data are amongst the best in the whole squad even at his age…

  40. S2S says:

    Ts,

That’s more like it. lol. But people with nasty attitudes are always out there to prove themselves and that’s why they’re most dangerous.

    Btw,

Is Joshua left footer or right?

  41. ozgunner says:

tsgh – my girlfriend is American and comes from a strong sports loving background – I never forget breaking the news to her on stan, she simply said “oh dear”. I thought, what do you know, she right, “oh dear” He is very unpopular with all the fans of his franchises, trouble is, they can’t get rid of him either

  42. S2S says:

    Ts,

Y’day I was watching CL punditry and it had Trevor Steven there who was Everton player and Newcastle supporter. And he was so GA GA over AW you’d not believe.

  43. tsgh says:

s2s, the media may have a short memory or are spinners. You know my views on that one… lol

Levy was the original last minute bargain hunter. At least AW only did that last 2 years and not last summer.

Levy will penny-pinch and he had the carte blanche…

Its funny how with the spuddies it was always Levy being good or bad and not his managers but at Arsenal it is AW…

  44. Judge me in May says:

TSGH, no you are the opposite of everything that moron says or represents..
But both have extreme views regarding wenger.. 😉

  45. rico says:

Morning all, popping in for a short while before having to dash off again – have we signed Flamini yet… 🙄

  46. Woody says:

Wenger is in the top 3 coaches in the league, if not higher.

The fact that better squads have finished below us in the league speaks volumes…

I don’t thin Mancini would have got our squad in to Europe the year they wont the league.

But the flip to that is that he seems so far removed from the transfer market these days. I just don’t get it, it’s like he wants to piss off every Arsenal fan and build negative feeling towards the club.

Does he not realise that happy fans gives the team a better chance to win, when the atmosphere is so much better?

  47. rico says:

I see many headlines suggesting we have and on a 2 year deal, well that should settle us all….

If we get a few classy ones, Flamini could be a good signing for the squad, if not and he’s to be relied on – Lord help us…

  48. BrainwashedKev says:

Morning Doomers, Happy Clappers, Gooners and Rico…

Five days to go before i collect my Fiver…

Five days for Arsene to spend his £70m and save Rico from her £5 debt… 😉

    It ain’t gonna happen boss….

  49. rico says:

Woody, spot on re the ‘out of touch’….

Not sure AW would be up in the top 3 coaches these days, apparently the Bank of England are waiting to see what happens with his contract situation though….

They have a vacancy in the savings department….

  50. S2S says:

    @Woody,

Arsene may be good coach but he’s a much better person. The reason player loves playing for him is, he cares. And because of that eventhough at times I feel frustrated by him, I still support him and would always do that.

The other day some one here said, Thuram was converted by AW and since I had never heard it before I read his interview and man talked about only one coach and that was AW saying he has special place for him.

AW may be having worst years of his life but still he’s one of the most respectable person in the world.

  51. devilgunner says:

An AKB went to see the GP.

“Doctor I have a problem,” he said. “I am getting desperate seeing people who call themselves AFC supporters vilify and pillory AW. He has single handedly kept us in the top 4 post Highbury with limited funds and all they do is call him all sorts of names. These so called supporters are killing me softly. I am dying little by little.”

“Fekking hell!!!” exclaimed the GP. “What the hell do you want then? You should be thankful to those supporters for dying slowly. Are you in a hurry to die???”

  52. ArsenalDK says:

Rico, i’m getting mynown hopes up too 😉 But then I wake up, and realize thah it’s all just a dream… With Flamini involved 😉

  53. rico says:

    🙂 Devil…

Something has to happen soon Adk, surely, just don’t get those hopes too high, Umbongo is just around the corner. So is Gareth Barry… 🙁

  54. ozgunner says:

why do you suppose Wenger would do that Rico – re the 30m – the player has been very clear he ain’t interested – he really must think we are all fools

  55. rico says:

Got to dash again folks, it’s one of those days today.

Hope we get a nice easy group…

    Back mid afternoon hopefully….

    Later guys..

  56. S2S says:

    @Rico,

Do we really need Di Maria?

I’d rather we get Joshua/Cabaye/MF and place a good amount of bid on someone like Mata/or some one like him. Play him in false #9 role Ala Cesc. And play 4-6-0 when need be else work with Giroud till at least January TW. Just 2 more players that’s all.

  57. Phil says:

I think the harm has already been done,aw is not ready to buy any big player because there is no any special players in the market now, unless he want to buy messi,cr7,falcao,cavani,rooney,suarez,neymar, and i dont see it hapening so he should have sign players like gustavo, cseza, higuen and wiliams

  58. tsgh says:

What about the news of the PFA head being in debt due to gambling? shocker not. lol

Judge, my views are purely simple, AW is more than a decent manager. Before Stan took over AW may not have bought marquee signings but he was gave us a decent chance…

To me the common denominator in this mayhem is Stan and IG.

I always say I am ready to change my mind and jump on the WoB’s wagon if I can be given convincing facts… 🙁

  59. BrainwashedKev says:

Hey Coach, I’m relying on you to show me how to deal with a false 9…

Or is it someone playing in the hole Coach???

    I must confess that I have a preference for the latter… 😀

  60. emma says:

Team news: Ramsey, Wilshere and Podolski

Arsène Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham:

on Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere…
The news is quite positive. They just had bumps and bruises. They will be involved.

    on Lukas Podolski…
It is bad news about Lukas Podolski as he will be out for eight to 10 weeks. His hamstring is much more damaged than we thought at the start. It is very disappointing and we have paid a very heavy price for that win [over Fenerbahce]. We have to be patient now.

    on the more long-term injuries…
Arteta is doing OK but there are few weeks to go with him. Thomas Vermaelen could be back after the international break.

  61. BrainwashedKev says:

Hey Adam, 44,000 at the Grove last Tuesday…

I suspect that we could see a few more attendances of that nature…

  62. Gunnerdna says:

Ts, the earlier we get these Americans out of afc the better the club will b, they hate football with a passion, most claim football is too boring, most kids are forced to choose NBA or the NFL as sports career path.

  63. ktr7 says:

I don’t know much about this midfielder we are being linked to because i don’t watch ligue 1 much.he looks like a beast physically which is a plus but i can’t comment on his attributes.

  64. emma says:

ktr – He is currently the best DM in ligue 1. I wouldn’t hold my breath on that cause I have given up we wont sign anyone. Better to lower my expectations than hope 🙁

  65. devilgunner says:

We are still with temperatures Ginge. The little one is a bit worse than me since my body can control it better. His is still small body and not with enough immunity to combat the anti bodies.

The heat is making it bad.

The club is making it worse. 🙁

  66. Henny says:

Morning all, I’m normally more calm and laid back but a bit of frustration is creeping in. In times I like these I tend to concentrate on the positives. I am happy that I’m seeing our players developing in front of our eyes, Ramsey being the obvious one. Wilshere is slowly regaining match fitness and I feel his ability matched with Ramsey and Cazorla ahead in front of them would be to much for any team to handle of course lets not forget rosicky. I think we have enough to beat the totts, yeah they have got in some decent talents but they haven’t played in NLD so they are in for a shock, the pace of the game might be to much for them especially if we continue with that one touch passing. Every game that goes by the players improve because they understanding each others game better, for instance Wilshere was not running into Cazorlas space. I’m actually looking forward to the game on Sunday regardless if we buy or don’t buy

  67. Woody says:

Should we not sign anyone then we need to come up with a constructive way of getting our message across and I don’t mean by booing and other such.

This needs to be aimed at the board and not the players…

  68. devilgunner says:

Arsenal have made an enquiry over the availability of Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld, with Arsene Wenger considering stealing a march on Liverpool to land the defender this summer.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that despite not landing any of his desired targets so far he will be bringing in new players before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.

One of the few top-class players who has yet to be picked up by a club as he considers a move is Alderweireld, who has become an integral part of Ajax’s squad after moving through the youth system into the senior line-up in 2008.

  69. Adam says:

Hiya Oh brainwashed one. I would have said closer to 40k myself. That’ll make El Syrup take note though I hear he is used to it as most of the shitholes he owns in the US apparently go the same way. And it ain’t up.

  70. devilgunner says:

According to the French sports paper Le10Sport [via the very reliable Sport Witness and it’s in the paper not on the site] Arsenal have bid €10m for Josuha [that’s how you spell it] Guilavogui.
It had been rumoured at the start of the week by the Times that Arsenal would look to Guilavogui or Gareth Barry if they were unable to sign Yohan Cabaye from Newcastle and with Newcastle demanding a world-class fee for a not-quite-but-we-think-he-is-world-class player, it seems as if that deal might not be going anywhere.
Guilavogui plays for Saint-Etienne who are rumoured to be interested in Park Chu Young [seriously] so there could be a deal to be done there for the 22 year old defensive midfielder.
The report on Sport Witness states that it was revealed on Telefoot on Sunday that Arsene Wenger was interested in him which is perhaps where the Times got their news. The Daily Mail are now reporting Arsenal’s interest but it’s hard to tell if they just got it from the Times or not.
He’s young, he’s relatively unknown, he’s French and he’s less than Arsenal’s transfer record – seems nailed on to me.

  71. tsgh says:

Dev- re offer Park and Bendy for Josuha..Dick n Law are still practicing their multi- languages in the mirror.

They can’t agree betwen themselves if they should say ‘Bonjour’ or ‘allo’ when the call is made.

  72. devilgunner says:

I can assure you that if he does not transfer now and accept a paycut next summer he will have to take one for sure. Because no club will offer him that amount he wants (55kpw). Not even if he was free.

  73. BrainwashedKev says:

Coach, Bendtner is just like all the other, very average, footballers who have unrealistic ideas about their value…

Look at Flamini, he won’t get a better chance anywhere than what he would get at Arsenal…

High-profile club, Champions Lge football, a decent wage, what more could he want at 29 and after a period of sustained injuries…

So what does he do (or his agent to be precise) he asks for £75k…
    What a Plonker….

  74. devilgunner says:

So you want to operate in the ‘hole’ then Kev?

    Good.

I always knew you were the one for the job. I used to think that you were better at the CENTREBACK but the ADVANCED HOLE seems to suit you well it seems. 😉

  75. devilgunner says:

I know Emma. But I still say that even if he is a freebie no one will give him the wage he wants…..because they can get better for less.

  76. tsgh says:

Brain, if Flamini is offered a 2 year contract and Sagna is not offered the same that will be very unfair and demoralising in my view…

One has been solid and loyal from day one and the other is a habitual ‘free-agent’ telling lies to his employers. From Marseille, Arsenal, to AC Milan…

  77. tsgh says:

B-52 would have developed and achieved his ambitions even if he had played in the reserves over the last 3 years.. what a waste of talent..

You would not think his dad is his agent!

  78. tsgh says:

    Massimo Marioni ‏@MassMarioni 1h

If Flamini wasn’t ex player & fans heard #AFC were paying £15m for Milan mid who helped turn around their season, would reaction be the same?

  79. NashuaGunners says:

    Hi everyone

Frustrations are mounting, anger is at a boiling point. Why did he (they) left it so late… is everyone guess. Why do we allow this prestigious club to be the laughing-stock of other clubs whom we considered our rivals… beyond beggars belief, to say the least. To ask our rivals for On-Loan players, who deem surplus to requirement in their respective clubs, is one step backward when we have the money to spend and acquire our own players. We say we have class, but when it comes to the TW, we are not showing it or lack off. Every TW we lower our expectations in hope that we might get more than our expectations. Why? Are we really that broke that we cannot expect a 20M plus signing for once in Arsenal FC?

  80. tsgh says:

Turkish press say Galatasaray have bid for Di Maria accepted. Balague already confirmed Arsenal bid accepted. But will he leave?

  81. emma says:

NLD and interlude looms. Wonder how many of this 12 outfield players will return from the NLD and interlude injury free? The kids might have to step up and be counted men.

  82. Joaquim moreira says:

    good morng
We have a relative good team. However, we can’t forget we will have arround 3-4 players every week, at least, out by injury or suspend.
So, in my opinion, we haven’t a squad. we must have a squad deep enought and two quality and different players in same positions, like for instance a center forward.
We must have more 4-5 good players. our squad is very thin now.
I like the St Ettiene midfield player

  83. BrainwashedKev says:

Coach, I have always considered ‘operating in the hole’ to be one of my strengths…

Adam is great, at the back, coming from deep…

Lee has fantastic vision, it’s his lazer mince pies…

  84. NashuaGunners says:

Hi Ginge. tsgh says @ 1035
I know some regular posters who I respect highly btw may think I believe the sunshines from AW’s backside but to me without him at the helm of this club we won’t even be discussing 4 additions to make us challenge.

Do you really believe IF AW were British such as Redknapp or Moyers, would he received such SLAGS in and off the field????

  85. devilgunner says:

    Wow.

Some journos can win the prize for the most creative ass-hole……

Arsenal are preparing a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso but may face competition from Serie A giants Juventus to land the player.
Alonso’s contract in Madrid is due to expire at the end of next season and discussions over prolonging his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu have stalled since the player picked up an ankle knock.
The Spain international midfielder, 31, is believed to be open to a return to the Premier League and certainly fits the profile of midfielder Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger appears keen to sign.
Arsenal have so far been frustrated in attempts to strengthen their line-up this summer however.
The Gunners have been beaten to the signature of several key targets including striker Gonzalo Higuain, who joined Napoli, and midfielder Luiz Gustavo, who joined Wolfsburg.
Real, however, are on the verge of concluding the most high-profile switch of the summer with the world-record transfer of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.
It is thought the Spanish side are lining up several player sales in order to finance that £86m deal.
Arsenal have reportedly already been in discussions with Madrid over the signing of striker Karim Benzema and winger Angel Di Maria.
However SportsDirect News understands that a new target has since emerged in Alonso.
The former Liverpool man is edging closer to a departure from the Spanish capital, with Italian side Juventus also believed to have expressed an interest in signing the player.

  86. ozgunner says:

seen this kid, Alvaro Vadillo, huge future – won’t mind us spending some dosh on this lad either

  87. ktr7 says:

apparently we enquiree for quagliarella…am not even going to comment on that one.its becomint clearer that this summer is unsavable due to the incompetence of the management.we only have 2 fit senior forwards now…

  88. devilgunner says:

but he is still 18 years old and is inexperienced at EPL level.

And he has only played for Betis. Yes get him by all means but he is not to be thrown in the first team immediately.

  89. bradster says:

Wasn’t Ox our record signing at 17 y.o from a championship team? I guess 17m is not too much more for 2 years on.

  90. tsgh says:

Ng, the answer to your question is NO.

But then as Dev said, AW would have been a route1 manager playing 4-4-2 or playing a defensive minded player amongst the front 3 like Hog does with Milner… 😛

  91. tsgh says:

Dev- Alonso rumours may have had ‘legs’ but flamini being available has dampened the need imo.

    Song is still available. 😛

  92. ozgunner says:

and if he signs quagliarella, he needs putting out of his misery, now that would be a buy to trival any of his flops

  93. tsgh says:

😀 Dev, the infamous saucepan hey?…. lol

Songiho is now a starter at Barca can you believe it? with pre-season under his belt…

  94. tsgh says:

Oz- I was not even going to comment on that 31 y.o whose best season return was 13 goals… but I agree; if that were to happen AW will definitely need sectioned. lol

  95. devilgunner says:

    I am off now mates.

I need to rest as this heat and my high temperature are having an effect on me. leaving me practically without strength.

    Later on in the evening.

  96. NashuaGunners says:

Now we wait… everyday holds a possibility of a miracle. Maybe, this French Fucker or Tight Arse could turn things around.

  97. NashuaGunners says:

Sorry, they’re not my words, just borrowing them and should have put them in a quotation mark.

  98. NashuaGunners says:

“I always say I am ready to change my mind and jump on the WoB’s wangon if I can be given convincing facts.”

The facts are there to see in Black and White. As a matter of fact, he has transfered some of the funds to his France Bank A/C. I have proof of this. :-X :X:

  99. tsgh says:

“We’re very pleased Mathieu has agreed to re-join us,” Arsène Wenger said. “He is a player of real quality, with a fantastic work rate and great mentality. As we know, Mathieu is a strong midfielder, but is also is comfortable playing in defence too. He is a very good addition to our squad.”

  100. Federico says:

So we are linked with a 31 year old – good Lord. Why did we let Chamakh go? Surely he is better than this guy.

  101. Federico says:

Glad to see Flamini back. I always liked him as he was probably our last enforcer. We need more nasty players.

  102. tsgh says:

    🙂 Ng.

To be hinest with you I do not know how to take the Flamini news. 😉

On 50k a week and no transfer fee, just maybe. He is better than G.Barry at least and he can cover a few positions too…

  103. ozgunner says:

i am caught a bit as well tsgh – might be all we get by the looks of it and that tackle at left back against Barca, still lives in the memory, although so does “I want to play for a club I believe in” uummm

  104. Federico says:

I think that he did win the title one year. For everyone who used to slate David Dein, this time, he helped us.

  105. Gunnerdna says:

Ts, we r fucked, whoever is responsible to deal with football matters at the club, lacks ambition. Their should b empty stands at the ems on Sunday, fuck NLD it ain’t a trophy.

  106. Wavy says:

Wenger could have added,…….”and he is the only player we could find who was prepared to sign for us, because he is unemployed!”
Flamini is reported to have said,” ah weel pleh fur u as Ah eff nussin bettah tu du wiv mah tyme. £50k a wik is fahr vo ah sink ahm vurff muuch mur. But eet iss bettah zan behin on zee dohl!”

Flamini is our marquee signing but only because he has been living in a tent at London Colney!

Pah! I haven’t forgotten his exit and the lack of loyalty he showed then but I expect we shall rejoice in his silky kicking skills sooner rather than later. But ‘special player’ he is not!

If that is the best they can do I’ll cancel my fanshare payments and my red membership. That’ll show them!!

  107. NashuaGunners says:

OZg, he did even though he wasn’t my dream signing. SerieA Title and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2011.

  108. Federico says:

I think that I watched a bloke last night – He makes some valid points about boycotting buying Arsenal merchandisa, food, concessions – etc

  109. tsgh says:

Ged, the bloke makes the points I make daily… how can AFC fans think IG loves the club more than AW… at least I say a million and 1 Asian fans holding up AW’s banners which means they give money to Stan because of AW.

What does IG do apart from ‘rat’ to the media about our ‘buying power’ like a jilted mafioso mistress…. 😉

  110. Federico says:

Although it is also the one thing which he failed to address, the elephant in the room – Monsieur Wenger

  111. tsgh says:

Actually looking on the bright side, $hitty paid nearly £30M for Fernandinho and the world think it is shrewd business.

Both have less than 10 caps for their national teams; but Flamster has the defensive education of Milan to suit….

And at least Flamini is a 3-in-1 signing LB,RB and DM. ;-(

  112. vernat1066 says:

So he is back, well at least he knows the league and what to expect when we march to mordor to face the orcs. Now lets get some more players in perhaps Stephan El Shaarawy to add some punch up front? Or is he now cup tied because he played in Milan’s qualification games?

  113. vernat1066 says:

As Milan have reached the Group stages of the CL any player who played for them in this competition would be ineligible.

    Hiya V1066,

  115. vernat1066 says:

Hiya ts it seems that our options are more limited now players that have played in the qualifying rounds of the CL or the EL and whose teams have made the group stages are not eligible to play for another team in the CL. So how many top top top players does that leave to sign ?

  116. tsgh says:

Players who have featured in UEFA games can play in the CL.

I think the qualifiers do not count as CL proper so we can still sig for teams out of the CL…

  117. vernat1066 says:

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/263283-explained-eligibility-of-cup-tied-players-in-uefa-competitions/

    Past example

Rangers faced similar circumstances when they signed Nikica Jelavic from Rapid Vienna at the start of the 2010/11 season, with the striker having turned out for the Austrians in the Europa League qualifying rounds.

However, as Rapid went on to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League, Jelavic became ineligible for the group stages of the Champions League.

Jelavic would have been clear to play in the knockout rounds of the Champions League but, as Rangers dropped into the Europa League, he was unable to play for the same reason.

  118. tsgh says:

‘Provided a player’s former side were eliminated prior to the group stages, and the player was then registered to play in the groups of either competition for his new club, he is free to continue playing in the knockout rounds of either the Champions League or Europa League.’

That is my understanding of it…

  119. strangemanz says:

Hi everyone, Federico thanks for the vid, saw this bloke talking after the Villa match and he makes a lot sense. He’s my my vote for a seat on the board… so have you tsgh, if you can articulate like that 😉

Don’t have tickets for the match on Sunday but will be forwarding the vid to everyone I know who does… nows the tme to make a stand without booing, the players don’t deserve that, it’s the board we need to target!

Up the Arse…. respect the players, tame the board!

  120. strangemanz says:

tsgh as long as you can say “buy him Now!” when a player worthy of Arsenal is in AW sights comes up, that’s better than what we have now and good enough or me 😉

  121. Joaquim moreira says:

watching the Champions League draws on tv.
Forgot all Madrid players and the Newcastle player
    totts weren’t there 🙂

  122. devilgunner says:

Of POT 1 teams only AFC are the only ones who have never won it.

    An omen being drawn first.

    Or is it ominous?

Time will tell. Or in May we will know.

  123. rico says:

12.48 Kev, you picking on me again 😉

Ng, I doubt it very much re your earlier comment about the tight arse..

  124. rico says:

Afternoon Adam, I am bloody livid, if he’s the best that idiot can find, then – well, it beggars belief!

Then he says I still want to sign players, well I suggest he goes and pays for a few, that’s what gets quality!

  125. frednerk says:

Boycotting buying food at the Arsenal,
    the lad sounds good..but..
Delaware North Companies Sportservices have the,
    catering franchise,at the Emirates.
    for the emerites

  126. rico says:

Sorry Adam, of course, I must be patient and wait until Monday before getting too cross, after all, he said he will sign players so I must believe him….

  127. Adam says:

If nobody buys any food or programmes Kroenke will probably put the season ticket prices up again. He’s all heart that guy.

  128. devilgunner says:

    Europa lge here we come.

If we manage to get out of that damned group in 2nd place I will be surprised.

If we manage to come first we will win the DAMNED big ears.

  129. devilgunner says:

    He has to buy now.

If he expects to progress to the knockout stages he needs to buy more now.

Hold on………..he may say to himself that we have no chance of qualifying and remain with what we have.

  130. Adam says:

Rico. Whatever the draw I have to ask, does it really matter? We aren’t going to win the thing and it is merely a money spinner and we know what Arsenal do with money these days.

  131. BrainwashedKev says:

Arsenal have, historically, very good records against both French and Italian teams…

Higuainr will get a rapturous welcome, no doubt…

Looking forward to the Dortmund games…

Then Adam, Lee, Rocky and I can begin planning our European tour in the Europa Cup…

Bring it on you Gunners…. 😉

  132. Adam says:

Still, good old boy Stan can nick another few million dollars, buy more guns and ride around his billion acre farm slaughtering innocent animals and mounting their heads on his wall. That is the real meaning of success.

  133. BrainwashedKev says:

A very even group with every team capable of beating everyone else…

If Arsrnal win their 3 home games they will progress…

    Simples… 🙂

  134. Adam says:

Kev. I think I will give Gulag United in the winter a miss this year in the Europa Cup if that’s ok with you guys.

  135. devilgunner says:

Its very strange that Messi, Ribery and Ronaldo have taken the place of Flamini.

He should have been there me thinks

  136. devilgunner says:

So Franky has won the Best player of the year in Europe.

Messi has walked it so many times that his hands have grown tired.

And Ronaldo has came second so many times that this year he did feel at ease to attend. What is the use………..he is used to coming second.

That was fekking rude of him.

  137. devilgunner says:

The only upside to being in the CL is that it means we finish above the spuddies.

The money income has no effect on qualifying since it never gets spent but finds its way back in IG, Sk and AW’s pockets.

If we were guaranteed that the spuddies will fight relegation I would have settled for the Europa Cup.

Then again I wish we were in it as well.

At least there would have been a chance to see them win a few games.

  138. devilgunner says:

The trepidation I felt this evening to see who will be our rivals will be equalled only on 2nd December at circa 23.00 hrs…………to see where the fiver ends up. 😉

  139. devilgunner says:

Arsenal have made a bid of £25.6 million to sign Real Madrid play maker Angel Di Maria but must wait for Gareth Bale’s switch to Spain to be confirmed before finding out if they will get their man, according to reports in Goal.com.

The Argentina international appears to be surplus to requirements at Santiago Bernabeu after new manager Carlo Ancelotti brought in Isco earlier in the summer and is on the verge of signing Bale.

The report states that Gunners tabled a formal €30m (£25.6m) offer for Di Maria after securing qualification for the group stages of the Champions League on Tuesday night. But the bid has not yet been accepted and the Londoners will not be given the green light to hold personal talks with Di Maria until Real’s £86 m world-record signing of Bale is finally secured.

Now why am I uneasy about this?

I would prefer Mata for that money.

  140. devilgunner says:

I simply hope AW is not going to buy only Di Maria.

He would not be enough for us.

    We need more bodies.

  141. rico says:

Do you actually believe that we are going to bid that much for him Devil?

I’d prefer Mata too by the way, we all know what we’d get from him….

  142. emma says:

DevilG: Mou and Chelsea director confirm today mata and david luiz are going nowhere.

We need to get in 2/3 bodies in before the window shuts. We will be fine if we are not depleted before the CL starts

  143. devilgunner says:

I know Emma that Mourinho has said that Mata is not leaving.

however I still would like him for that amount of money AFC might spend on an untried and untested Di Maria.

  144. rico says:

emma – I reckon for the right price they would sell Mata, Jose has to be seen to support him but as we all know, anything can happen… and they have so so many midfielders…

  145. Adam says:

Rico. We had Mata in the bag a couple of seasons ago. The fee and deal was agreed but Wenger bottled out at the very last minute. Now we are looking at twice that price. What shocking judgement.

  146. rico says:

I’m not so sure emma, Jose and Wenger are the best of buddies these days. Probably because he knows we are no serious threat to Chelsea…

  147. emma says:

devilG – Di maria is a very good player. I believe he will bring something different to the squad. He is pacy, intelligent and has an eye for a pass. Never know Wenger might just transform him into a striker

  148. devilgunner says:

Seems as if they are going to do the Champions’ lge draws again.

They remembered that we drew at Newcastle on the last day while the spuddies won.

  149. devilgunner says:

Yes even me thought that we won 1-0.

But a friend of mine keeps telling me that we drew while they won.

  150. asiangooner says:

    Hi Highbury Housers

Atleast we get to read good posts and comments here….. thanks to rico for giving us such a good forum, the transfer news are just……… oh well i am tired of repeating myself over and over again

hey emma, i read your Flamini -> arsenal from yesterday really not what i wanted to read but atleast he is one more body in…

Adam, my friend you are on fire today. I laughed my arse off after reading your 5:45 comment….. that was simply amazing

How are you and junior DG? You need to get well soon so that you can hit AW with your saucepan

A tough draw in CL but I believe we can qualify

Still hopeful that we will sign players before the deadline but I must admit the hope is fading gradually.

  151. rico says:

Ag, I’m more concerned about how many we haven’t signed than what that lot are doing. Get the right players in now and we’ll be sorted…

  152. asiangooner says:

How come manure always get a easy group!!! I thought their good luck charm (the red nose) has retired….

I am really pissed off that we have not bought any quality players so far but i am enjoying that manure are even unable to attract quality players 😉

  153. strangemanz says:

Rico Marseille can suck my b*lls, if we can’t finish above them we don’t deserve to be playing in europe!

But don’t worry, by then we’ll have some super, special, nice, fine, super , smashing, nice new signings by then 😉 I wrote to Jim’ll…. oops! 😮

  154. asiangooner says:

I know rico……. I as well as every arsenal fan is concerned about our lack of business so far in the transfer window and I also agree that if we get the right players in we will be well sorted……. but it seems the decision makers are on a completely different planet.

I try to remain hopeful though….. its another 5 days to go and we can be out of our misery or maybe the misery will start after these 5 days, only time will tell.

  155. rico says:

Ag, their situation doesn’t really bother me, I am totally fed up with what is going on with us. They haven’t been able to do a deal for Fellaini so why aren’t we nipping in and trying to get him?

I’m sure Martinez would rather sell to us than Moyes…

But hang on, that would be showing a bit of intent, not enough, but would be a good start…

  156. devilgunner says:

Rico……the thing is…..would AW want to show that he is showing intent? Or he does not intend showing any intention?

  157. asiangooner says:

I am sure rico if we wanted fellaini we would have bought him…… i am at a stage now where i just dont know what the hell is going on at arsenal and the in the head of AW…..

I am sure john henry must have some clue when he said he wasnt sure what we are smoking here….. whatever that is, has put everyone in a sleep mode i think. We must do something to wake em up.

On the plus side we have signed MF today……. not the one we wanted but maybe whatever our guys are smoking over there is effecting them in ways we cannot even think 😉

I am sorry but i cant be down and miserable for too long……..

  158. devilgunner says:

The AFC ladies are drawing 0-0 with the Chav ladies.

15 minutes gone and we have already peppered them with around 8 shots.

The chavs have only had two shots.

But they are attacking as well albeit reaching only the penalty area.

  159. devilgunner says:

AG that is reality at the moment although Philosophy is one of my pet topics and favourite reading.

If the AFC ladies win their two games in hand they will go top of the table.

  160. Micko says:

The best things in life are free but good ole Arsene is working on that one !
Says everything that many on here couldn’t even be bothered to tune into the draw today.
Still, Stan will get his annual cheque for 28 million come February and we can then make the big push for 4th, it’s a vicious circle.

  161. ktr7 says:

am so pumped for the CL.fantastic draw for us since they’ll be exciting games and will give us a good barometer of where we are.

  162. rico says:

Ch, not all have been much value for money…

Anyway, it’s all about now, now we have money yet ebenezer isn’t spending it…

Micko – as the squad stands today, i think we’ll be far too far back for even that usual final push…

  163. asiangooner says:

DG can we transfer some of AFC ladies players to our squad if we need strengthening beyond TW? maybe thats the big plan 😉

  164. devilgunner says:

    AG………unfortunately we cant.

First of all some of the ladies are gorgeous and since some of our players are switched off having the ladies around will make them worse.

Secondly all of them would want to become keepers and play in goal. They would want to catch all the balls flying in……. 😉

  165. asiangooner says:

Hi Kt, admire your enthusiasm my friend…… but i guess rico is right that we dont need that to tell us 🙂

I am still hopeful that we will pull it through for the knockout stage

  166. asiangooner says:

hahahahaa dg, well i guess we will have to figure out another way then 😉

I on the other hand wont mind playing with them or maybe refereeing 😉

  167. ktr7 says:

It will rico/asian.it will be a good chance to see how someone like ramsey performs against the likes of Gundogan.this is what the CL is about.it will tell us how good we are in comparison to the 2nd best teams in Germany France and Italy.

  168. devilgunner says:

    half time.

    18 shots on goal.

    The chavs only 2.

    60% possession

And the result is only 1-0.

    Sounds familiar?????

  169. tsgh says:

    Hi all,,
A challenging draw. I look forward to seeing the Arsenal beating my other team BVB.

  170. devilgunner says:

    Hiya Ginge.

    your second team is BVB???

I thought it was Hoffenheim seeing that your initials are tsgh. 😉

I have many second teams. They are AFC ladies, FC Sudtirol, Fleetwood Town and Nottingham Forest.

Actually FC Sudtirol are my second team. The others are third.

  171. asiangooner says:

hmmmm kt, but i guess the fear rico,me or most of the other fans here have is that we might not be able to have that comparison if our squad is thin and we do not rotate properly, we might not be able to see how ramsey performs if (God Forbid) he is injured!!! thats the only concern.

DG, that sounds very familiar. There is another familiarity as well and that is AFC 🙂

  172. Micko says:

rico, we’re the best of a bad bunch, we’ll be challenging for 4th.

tsgh, my second team………anyone playing against tottenham.

  173. rico says:

I wish I was as confident Micko, I see one or two that may get that 4th spot before us…

Shame Wenger hasn’t signed 4/5 top players, we’d be challenging for top spot then. Funny really, I thought that was what PL football was all about for clubs like ours…

  174. asiangooner says:

If we win our both games against marseille, and our home games against BVB and napoli, we are sorted DG

  175. tsgh says:

Hi Micko, I saw your Ronnie comment…

My second team was Charlton because of Bent but its all gone now… lol

  176. tsgh says:

    Another gem from Malaga gooner…

    morning every 1.

been told we have 2 private jets on standby to fly 2 players in for medicals today.

i have no info on which players.

    {Ed022’s Note – This is air traffic control speaking, I currently see a lot of BS on my radar and no private jets on standby…}

    malaga-gooner

  177. asiangooner says:

not just fooked rico….. we will be fooked big time 😉

lol ts….. who the hell is this malaga gooner?

  178. tsgh says:

Ag,Malaga gooner keeps me going during the transfer window…

    29 Aug 2013 14:36:42
I have just been told there is 2 players in transit as we speak for medicals.

1 from spain and 1 from germany.

so maybe the 2 flights are not b/s

    {Ed022’s Note – You’re persistent Malaga, I give you that…}

    malaga-gooner

He needs to write a movie with his imagination… PG rated of course. 😛

  179. Micko says:

rico, adam touched on it earlier, we are fast becoming a sleeping giant, does anyone on the board really give a shit anymore ? I don’t think so.

tsgh, it’s goodnite from me and it’s goodnite from him, goodnite all.

  180. Scott from Oz says:

    Top of the morning guys.
    Everyoe is so negative today.
    It is disappointing.
    It is also totally understandable.
Flamini…well, he is signed, so no point whining….he is now a Gunner so will get my full support.
Bloody hell, we need much, much more than him though.
Wtf are our guys playing at?
Could it be true Souds are holding onto Bale til after the NLD, because once that happens we may just get one or two Real players?
Or should that be “real” players??
Arsene, my faith is still there, but only bloody just.

  181. asiangooner says:

lol rico….. was it just you who decided to ban him or was it a unanimous decision of the house? TS is still an admirer 😉

I do really wish now that AU takes it over from SK

  182. rico says:

Me, he took one swipe too many at me so off he went, that’s what happens.. I’ll only be pushed so far…

It’s simple really here, if the tone of the post doesn’t suit, there are plenty of other choices out there in the Arsenal blogging world…

  183. asiangooner says:

naaa i wasnt fallen for it mate….. but hope is such a beautiful feeling and i still hope that we will sign someone.

Hi scott, the negativity is going to grow if things dont change…. I will wait for the time when the great one (Scott) comes over to the dark side!!! lol

I agree though, flamini is a gunner and we must support him

  184. asiangooner says:

    never been to LG rico……

I think we should get a striker now rico, a CB or RB and a Keeper first before we get someone else in midfield

  185. asiangooner says:

    night rico…. take care

I am off too in 5-10 mins unless emma shows up with her tasty rumours 😉

  186. c2hills says:

Ginge, what’s it with players? Imagine Flamini saying once a gunner, always a gunner. Conveniently forgetting he left us high and dry. Its a good un though, the signing.

    Night rico. I dislike lg.

  187. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, i did say it was understandable 🙂
Asian, i will never switch totally to the dark side, though a might place a foot in each camp lol.
    Hiya Ginge.
The fact i am still here shows how lenient……actually, i describe it as being fair minded…..Rico is.

  188. BrainwashedKev says:

Interesting that Real Madrid are accusing Tottenham of ‘dragging their heels’ in formalising the transfer of Bale to Spain.

Could it be that the Scum are deliberately going slow, in order to try and prevent Arsenal from doing business with Madrid?

The clock is ticking and Madrid won’t deal with Arsenal until they have signed Bale…

Wenger has tried to play a game of poker with this transfer window and might just run out of time, if the Scummers delay until Sunday?

    It’s gonna be a frustrating 71 hours or so….

  189. BrainwashedKev says:

You gotta laugh at the Press…

Flamini has signed a two year deal on £40k per week.

    Hang on!!!

No, Flamini has signed a three year deal on £30k per week…

    No, wait up…

Flamini has signed a two year deal with the option of a 3rd year on £50k per week…

    Then again………… 🙄

  190. BrainwashedKev says:

Watched a bit of the Scummers beating some team from the Hackney Marshes called Dinamo Shoreditch or something or other…

The new power in North London won 3-0, and with that the Evening Standard will be having a wet dream no doubt.

Yes, AVB/Levy, has made a lot of high-profile signings, but they did the same 12 months ago, and most of those ‘Brave New World’ signings are now in the Scums League Cup squad….

Ok, it’s a pisser watching those knobheads from N17 take all the headlines.

But let’s see if all these ‘Superstars’ they’ve snaffled up with the Gareth Bale money are the real deal or another case of all mouth and no trousers from the Slum Dwellers…

  191. BrainwashedKev says:

Despite all the doom and gloom, and we’ve had every reason to feel a lot of that after a Summer of empty promises. But I still feel that Wenger will bring in 3 and possibly 4 additions to the squad….

Not sure if these ‘additions’ will be top top quality like an Ozil or Benzema, but there’s every chance that the ‘extra-bodies’ we’ll need this season, will be brought in…

Wenger has to do something, he knows that, so I’m reasonably confident that I shall watching that Scottish pillock Jim White screaming his stupid Jock head off about some last-minute Arsenal business around tea-time on Tuesday….

Wenger is scouring Aldi and Lidl as I type.

    Nighty night all…. 😉

  192. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, Although the signing of Flamini on a free is realy good business in my opinion, I find it strange that he is being reported that its a 3 year contract, Flamini is 29 years old and i can only assume that he plays the the first 2 years while his 30 and then has accepted a one year deal for the final year. Either way a good addition, thats 2, now for the Marquee signings.( utility Player )

  193. Lewis says:

    Morning all,

Koscielni playing on Sunday or is he suspended?

Even though I’m disgusted at the state of our squad currently, our first 11 should still be able to beat the spuds at home!

  194. stevepalmer1 says:

Kosi still banned Lewis. Spuds will be up there all season Lewis if we beat them that will be massive. Squad is looking better, dont forget we have Diaby Arteta Vermaelen out injured. We have Gibbs Monreal and now Flamini for left Back. Sagna Jenkinson and again Flanoni for right back. we have Merts Kosi and Verm and Sagna as centre backs, we have Podolski The Ox Arteta Diaby Ramsey Wilshere Rosiski Walcott and Flamoni as Midf. The way i see it we need a CF a Keeper and a winger, we have Ryo and Sanogo and not forgetting our new youngsters were not that short.

  195. Lewis says:

Any more injuries though SP and we are playing kids who aren’t ready. Flamini is a decent signing, good utility player, not seen him play really since he left but if he can play with the same intensity he did the season before he left then he will be very useful. Bit of experience as well.

  196. stevepalmer1 says:

All teams have injuries, we are no different but we have cover. CF is a problem but i think he will rectifi that, Our youngsters are ready to be thrown in the mix, a bit raw but have shown they can pull their weight, i am quite optimistic.Flamoni i feel will be a great signing.

  197. frednerk says:

    Morning rico & all,
The arsenal like to brag on a friday(transfers),
even at this late stage, its hard to know,
who the f*ck he might sign.

Amazing really we talking Flamini up,
    We are desperate ain’t we.

  198. Lewis says:

Lol Fred, seriously though, Flamini for free is not a bad signing. So long as he’s not the only signing we make!

  199. rico says:

Morning fred, signing Flamini is a bit of a joke imho, especially if he and Sanogo who are the only summer signings…

  200. rico says:

Reports suggest Park has agreed to move to St Etienne, could that mean we are going to get Guilavogui I wonder…

  201. frednerk says:

Agree lewis,I like flamini type player its what we need.

so many on here said at the beginning of the t/window,
that we would be in this situation..
But we all hoped..we could be wrong this…..time.

  202. W.A.T.H says:

2 yelloes is only 1 game Rico your right… Koz is free to play Sunday…!

Oh and morning…. This mornings presser will be fun… or yet again more delusional comments from our esteemed leader…!

I’m off to join SP on the GG… Think I need a double double…!

  203. rico says:

    Phew, thank goodness Wath..

Hope he starts Lee, we need them to go down to ten… 😉

Some striker that used to star for Korea fred, until AW signed him and ruined him…

  204. rico says:

Why can’t Wenger talk to the press like Jose does. ‘If you want to talk about Chelsea, I am here until 4pm, if not, I am not here’..

AW however allows himself to get drawn into answering questions about everything including the what other clubs are doing etc etc…

Maybe if he concentrated on what is or rather is not going on at Arsenal, we’d get more success…

  205. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

Gazidis seemingly flew to Monaco for the CL draw yesterday, but never made it into auditorium – he was called away on urgent business ???
