Jack Wilshere naughtiness! Offer accepted for Ospina & Medical today for Debuchy replacement….

Morning all.

I love the Jack, I really do and there are moments when he plays, he just amazes me but they are few and far between.

Smoking, drinking and not for the first time either, what does the future hold for Jack Wilshere as far as Arsenal are concerned?

Will Arsene Wenger feel that this latest stint of naughtiness is the final straw, or will he wait until he’s back at pre-season training and read him the riot act, well, put his arm around him and explain just why both activities are detrimental to a players health and football career…..

This is what Arsene Wenger said after the last time he was caught smoking:

I disagree completely with that behaviour, I don’t know really what happened, I will need to have a chat with him about that.

There are two things: first of all when you are a football player you are an example and as well you don’t do what damages your health.

The fact [is] that you can damage your health at home, you can smoke at home and you can drink at home, and nobody sees it, but when you go out socially you as well damage your reputation as an example.

The guy is on holiday of course and one could argue that he’s entitled to do what he chooses in his own time but a sports persons career is so demanding and so short, players need to look after their body and as said, this is not the first time Jack has made the headlines on the back pages is it.

But I’m not a smoker, Jack said after the last incident:

I made a mistake. Players make mistakes. I’m not a smoker.

I spoke to the boss and he asked me what happened. I explained it to him and we sorted it out. He put me in the team and hopefully I repaid him.

Here we are in the middle of July and all the players who were not involved in the World Cup are back in training, ready for this seasons tough campaign. They are working hard on getting their bodies fit and their stamina levels as high as possible before our first fixture but meanwhile, Jack appears to be doing all the wrong things…

Let’s face it, he is not the fittest player in the squad by a long way and when we have a full squad, he’s not one of the first players on the team-sheet either but at his age and with his ability, he should be.

Arsene Wenger helped the player as the season came to an end by making sure he would be fit and well prepared for the World Cup, something which had seriously been in doubt and just giving him a cameo role in the FA Cup final was enough to convince Roy Hodgson to take him to Rio.

Something has to give here, Jack Wilshere has to wake up and realise that every time the Press snap him misbehaving in such a fashion, not only is he harming his health but he’s damaging his chances of staying at the top of the game for as long as he could, maybe should be. He’s not doing the reputation or Arsenal Football Club any favours either.

Like I said at the beginning of the post, I love Jack Wilshere, I really do but if Arsene Wenger really is after Sami Khedira or a player who brings something similar to the team, the further Jack Wilshere is going to be pushed down the pecking order.

Arsene Wenger will no doubt be furious after these latest off-field antics but what does he now do?

I certainly can’t see him being sold as Wenger would be heavily criticised by all and sundry but I do wonder what this next season holds for our midfield man……..

For the sake of Arsenal FC, I hope he knuckles down, plays the kind of football he can and should be and makes this latest stupid incident his last because if he doesn’t, he could soon find himself at another club…

Transfer gossip.

If reports in the newspapers are true about Sami Khedira’s wage demands, then it’s looking less and less likely that he’s going to be an Arsenal player, that is of course if Arsene Wenger is really interested in signing him.

The Telegraph have decided that because of this, the cub will go back for Lars Bender!

The Daily Star report that Calum Chambers is set to replace Carl Jenkinson!

Newcastle are very close to completing the signing of  Netherlands full-back Daryl Janmaat. According to Sky Sports, he’s in England for his medical which if he passes, should finally see Mathieu Debuchy become an Arsenal player.

French newspaper Nice Matin reports that we have had a £3.2 million bid for Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina accepted so it looks like two signings could be imminent.

Good, there’s only so long Alexis Sanchez can keep us fans happy…..

Have a good day all….

    Very good read Rico..

I think AW loves JW and so will give him another chance…

My question is how is Gerrard back in training voluntarily whilst JW is ….

  2. Dgob says:

Beautifully written with the real conviction of a gooner. A real joy to read someone whose commentary is so honest and reasoned. Thanks

  3. rogerbij says:

Go the Telegraph! Choose the rumours that make you happy! Go go go Lars Bender!

Thanks for the post Rico, not sure what I think about Jack having a puff. As long as he’s absolutely not a smoker Im somewhere between meh and der. Its the bad look people worry about I suppose. At least he doesnt have Charlie on his nose 😉

  4. Nickie says:

Poor old Jack. He comes out with all the talk, he wants to do well for the team, he’s committed etc….Guy looks unfit in 75% of the games he players. I’m running out of patience with Jack and his poor attitude towards Arsenal. Also very sick of the way he goes down after every tackle as if he’s seriously hurt. He holds onto the ball too long and his defensive work is very shabby. Buck up or get out Jack.

I’m not too excited about the transfer rumours at the moment. Sanchez yes because I felt it was a huge possibility. Right now it seems like journalists are trying to claw onto anything they can because the WC is over.

    Nice post

    Morning All

  5. Marinello says:

    Hi Rico,

Great post and one that could not have been written in a more delicate way.
I agree totally with your views on Jack, as a player he can produce outstanding displays on the pitch, but we need to see more of these displays.
The latest picture in the press of Jack in a pool smoking is not good for Arsenal or Jack. Okay its in his free time, but he surely understands that as a top flight player, he will always be in the public eye and never far away from a camera.
I hope he takes on board what is expected of him both as a player and to someone who youngsters look up to and gets himself fit and back challenging for a permanent place both for Arsenal and England.
Such a talent should never go to waste.

  6. rico says:

    Thanks Ts, Dgob

I’m torn over Jack, sometimes I just think we’d be better off selling him but the bigger part of me believes that wouldn’t be the best thing to do.

Just wish he’d grow up and stop doing such silly things, or make sure the cameras aren’t watching him…

  7. Dgob says:

tsgh, a very good question. I’ve noticed one side affect of Jack’s lifestyle and lack of fitness has been an increasing tendency to hit the ground and stay down gesticulating when coming under the slightest pressure from an opposing player (on occasion leaving a gap and leading to a goal against us but more generally being rightly waived off by the ref). I find this sickening and only hope Arsene can pull him out of this funk quickly.

  8. Dgob says:

    Nickie,

Just saw that you had already raised his increasingly ‘continental’ slips. It is a massive frustration and my son now finds it difficult to watch Jack play: sad seeing as he’s been his favourite player for the past few years (until last season).

  9. rico says:

Morning Nickie/Marinello, thanks re the post…

Agree re the transfer stuff. One big signing and now it’s all gone a bit too quiet for my liking. Just hope IG and Dickie are working hard…

  10. tsgh says:

Hi Nickie,Drog- I read somehwere Aw or Banfield have done some work with JW on his position etc…

but imo the foundation of JW’s lack of tactical awareness has been laid and almost cast in stone.. he starts games with an eye on his position but 10 minutes later adrenalin and natural instinct kicks in…

I know I took some shorts on here 2 years ago for saying JW was over rated and not good enough but I do really like him and wish he would take the opportunity that Ozyagup and co were not given.

  11. Hell Raising Devil says:

The photo of Jack smoking is only the tip of the iceberg with regards to English players attitude. A whole culture must be changed because Jack, Rooney etc are not a model to other youngsters.

Look at the German team. Men of steel and control (at least their appearance)

How many English players are men of steel and control??

    Good Morning lovely ones.

    Nice article Rico. Sensibly written.

  12. Woody says:

Sadly Jack is proving why England don’t have an answer when they turn up at big tournaments. English players never fulfill their potential, because they don’t have the right mentality and just want to get wrecked and live it up.

Sadly booze and girls are more important to them than football. You go to any tope team in the world and you will find it the other way round.

We’re just bad at sport generally. Dyke goes on about foreign imports, yet the weakest footballers in the world mentally, also cost the most. Work that out?

How can we produce so many footballers than never reach their peak, yet they are the most expensive?

  13. Luznic says:

Morning Rico that was a nice post and imo I believe Jack is still at the Arsenal because he’s English, his attitude towards the game is becoming more and more nonchalant if not so as a professional athlete in which your sports needs strength and stamina what do we call this…….he plays football not golf and we don’t drool over the Arsenal to pay him to do this nonsense this is not the image Arsenal wants to be represented by, Morning roger,ts and Nickie

  14. Marinello says:

Dgob: At the end of the day, what we do not want at Arsenal is what used to be termed a “luxury player.” Jack has to put a full shift in, stay on his feet, stop giving silly balls away in dangerous areas and work at becoming the player that Wenger still believes he can be.
When his name is on the team sheet, I, like a lot of Arsenal fans, only expect a bit part performance from him, and then look forward to Rosicky coming on as replacement and injecting some pace and urgency into proceedings…

  15. rico says:

The open top bus in Berlin is pretty special…

Reminds me of the borough of Islington a couple of months ago… lol

  16. agirlagunner says:

Good write, rico. Maybe Jack should read it. As already pointed out, I don’t think anyone begrudges him a holiday; but when he is photographed having a puff of a cigarette, then a cigar, and playing unhygienic drinking games with Joe Hart (ewww), it reflects poorly not only on him but on Arsenal.

That this is not the first time makes it all the more exasperating. He hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory on the football pitch; of course, people will be harder on him for his off pitch antics. He should grow up, he’a a father of two for crying out loud!!

    Hello, all. 🙂

  17. rico says:

    Morning Devil/Luznic, thanks..

Think you could be right about Jack and him being English. Also, it’s expected that he’ll be the England captain some day soon.

Not sure he’s ready for that though….

  18. tsgh says:

re. our transfer strategy is still scatter gun approach..

we are just operating on who is available instead of acting like a big team…

Did we buy Sanchez or Sanchez fell on our lap…

I was really concerned Juve would push the boat out because our approach is comical..

why do you think Barca and RM like dealing with us? Yes, Law got plaudits for AS negotiation because he agreed to pay more upfront which was music to Barca’s eyes…

There were rumours Barca were about to miss one weeks salary payment because of lack of funds from banks before we made payments… 😉

  19. rogerbij says:

Hey Guys and Gals, can someone explain to me why, if Juventus need to sell to balance the books, we arent linked with Vidal or Pogba ?
    http://www.whoscored.com/Players/25008/
    http://www.whoscored.com/Players/97752/

The stats on both blow Khedira out of the water (choose any season you like for Khedira). The tackles per game for Vidal are the highest I have stumbled across (4.5 – 5 per game vs 1.5-2 for Khedira). ManU is linked, why not us?

And did I just answer my own echo by linking us with them? Is that how it works!?

  20. rico says:

Hi agag, thanks and spot on…

Wonder what his wife thinks of it all, in fact I wonder where she was/is…

  21. Nickie says:

    Dgob,

Exactly! A loan abroad to suit Jack, out of his comfort zone could discipline him? He was also one of my favourite players, his movement, dribbling, injection of pace and direct play. He frustrates me on par with Giroud when he’s getting the simpler things wrong.

Jack will miss out this season if he doesn’t focus.

In regards to transfer, we definitely aren’t done yet but I can’t say I share the same optimism for this Khedira deal as I did the Sanchez one

  22. rogerbij says:

Oh Rico, my first time in Moderation – the naughty boys corner. Let me know when Im able to be let out. 😉

  23. tsgh says:

    Nickie,good point re loan;it won’t happen though but…
Like Aneke went to Belgium to learn more whilst he could have earned more playing in the championship..

    Later Dev

  24. potter says:

That paragon of common sense Harry Redknapp said this morning ,” Even if he really wanted a cigarette he should just get out of the pool and go to his room and have it in private.” This of course would set off the smoke alarms and arrest and banged up in a Vegas jail would follow and we would need more than Grisham to get him out. Seriously the boy although talented seems to be a slice short of a loaf.

  25. Nickie says:

    Ts

Agree Jack is very poor tactically when told to sit deep. He’s all over the place. Then his fitness kicks in and it’s like playing with 10 men. He either needs to be in a place with less responsibility and tracking back (a free roam role) or he needs to put in some serious overtime training

  26. tsgh says:

Roger it is because as I said earlier we don’t buy players we want we buy players who become available…

My shy boy in the night club analogy come sto mind…

Even Liverpool pushed the saints to buy Lallana; we want Morgan but we allow them to tell us we have to wait…

  27. rico says:

    Good old Arry!

I think that’s what Jack forgets, he gets publicity for all the wrong reasons and this latest story will be thrown around all over the place and anyone with a voice that wants to be heard will have their say..

  28. Luznic says:

Woody you just spoke my mind the FA needs to rectify why English players are so expensive, why do they put too much money in their hands at tender age, the youth culture has problems, Gotze is 22 so is Wilshere, Draxler is 20 and so is Barkley, Pogba is 21 and Phil Jones is 22, Griezman is 23 Walcott is 24, Neymar is 22 also did anyone also watch quintero of Colombia? tell me any English player who rates better than all this players, Dyke is a confused man leave the foreign import alone tackle the real internal problem, for God sake its the British FA not the stagnant Nigerian Football Federation

  29. Wavy says:

    Good day all
Jack is a home grown player. His position at the club is almost unassailable. We have to have an English contingent if only to satisfy FFP. Jack has so e quality both on and off the field. He also has a nationality guaranteed place in the squad, even more so as Rocking Roy keeps picking him for England.
I disapprove of some of his behaviour. He should be a role model for all the youngsters at the club. He isthe living embodiment ofthe old ‘project youth’ and should be the children’s mentor! Trouble is, he is himself still a child! He really does need someone to have a word in his ear about maturity, common sense, application and harnessing his ability……successfully!
I really want the boy to succeed and not end up like Rooney, George Best etc!
    Come on Jack, grow up!

  30. tsgh says:

Pogba earns 1/3 of JW’s salary and Paul has won the best young player award from Fifa 2 years in a roll… Luznic

    Similar minds mate…

  31. John says:

Wilshere seems to have taken career advice from Bendtner. Someone on twitter claimed he had first hand knowledge of Wilshere’s mates, wrong crowd apparently. If our Jack doesn’t clear up his act it wouldn’t surprise me if the new ruthless Wenger sends him the same way as Frimpong next year.

  32. Sukky says:

I can’t believe some arsenal fans will still pick lukaku over Giroud.Lukaku is exposed during †̥ђƺ WC.A coach without good tactic can’t manage him.His major problem is he doesn’t know how to connect with his midfielder. That’s why Martinez moved him to †̥ђƺ flank and play naithsmith as a false 9 at †̥ђƺ latter of last season.Benteke is way ahead of him and note this he won’t make it in chelshit.

  33. rico says:

Wavy, perhaps AW should show Jack the TV programme about Gazza…

You did Nickie, I’m beginning to think you are right… lol

  34. tsgh says:

Wavy.. Wooney had a career until 3 or 4 years ago which is understandable..

Jack is living on the back of 1 good season with 5 very good appearances playing next to Cesc and Song who covered his ass tactically for him to do what he wanted to do…

When Ramsey was being slated 2 years ago I posted a comment from Cesc saying Ramsey would be his replacement… the interviewer and Englishman then asked him what about JW and then Cesc said yes him too… lol

Tactically JW was always very poor…

Even Rick and Kev whosaw him play live in his youth may second that…

Frimpong covered his ass loads of time…

Even against River Plate in the emirates cup Jw on his senior debut he only had his eye for the ball…

  35. rogerbij says:

tsgh, I thinks we’ve all played that shy guy in the corner of the nightclub at one time or another. It works sometimes doesnt it 😉 But then in the light but you often find what looked good from far was far from good!

  36. Marinello says:

    Hi Kev, Rico,
How many British players with great skill and ability have fallen by the wayside due to low self esteem and the ability to get pulled into unsavoury situations by so called hangers on, or friends.
George Best who I saw on many occasions early in his career, could set a football pitch alight with his skill and bravery in riding or taking a tackle from say Chopper Harris of Chelsea, but off the pitch, a complete nightmare. They say that he needed a much stronger character than Matt Busby to take him aside and get him help at an early stage. Hangers on just told him how great he was and then took another drink off of him…. His career was ruined and we didn’t really see him achieve the accolades that his skill deserved.
Jack should look at the Gazzas, Greaves etc and understand that a footballers career is fairly short and that he has been given a chance craved by so many young footballers to progress and have an outstanding career, but if not careful, and does not get his body in peak condition could get injured and his career is over.

  37. Woody says:

I’m not sure I really want Khedira.

I’d prefer someone like Vidal, as I think he’s a bit more aggressive and commanding. Khedira seems to be too similar to what we already have..

  38. rico says:

John, from the photo’s they don’t seem the best bunch for him to be hanging around with – and what’s Hart doing there with him?

You have a point about AW and it’s not like Jack hasn’t had enough warnings….

  39. tsgh says:

Woody, if Aw buys Kroos or Vidaal or Morgan my bet still stands so far as HH can get me to do up Aws jacket zip 😀

We don’t even have to go that big on a DM; Medel is also good and will cost £15m max.He is 5’7 but still kept strikers over 6’0 tall quiet in the wc… he has the braisn that is why…

We have the £40m to buy Vidal but will AW and his musketeers push or wait for a player to become available…

Those who don’t know Vidal may think vidal is too attacking but at club level in Germany he was defensive and at Juve only last season was he pushed up when Marchisio got injured…

  40. Nickie says:

The fact Jack earns more than Pogba is disgusting. Until he’s established and proves quality on a consistent basis, only then should he receive a pay rise. He’s already “made it” sweet pay out. He doesn’t care. Real shame because he was what Arsenal were missing last season (direct, change of pace) and England this summer (link up, dribbling)

  41. Scott From Oz says:

Guys, I’ve copped plenty from various fans in various places for simply stating over the last two seasons, our win/loss ratio is much better without Jack than with him.
He had better show up this season or his career at the club could be in jeopardy, especially after this episode.
    Morning all.

  42. Sukky says:

Like I said few weeks ago,I think Wilshere will hardly make it at †̥ђƺ top.†̥ђƺ hype and praise by †̥ђƺ stupid media calling him †̥ђƺ saviour of English team(†̥ђƺ golden boy)has gotten to him.He won’t simplify his game like Rambo did and that will keep killing him until he’s finished.I pity him .

  43. DownUnderGunner says:

Finally, (hopefully) a proper ‘keeper for The Arsenal! That Szczesny fellow, after his embarrassing displays in the thrashings Arsenal received last season, wouldn’t have got another game under any other manager. Whilst Ospina mightn’t be the A grade of the A grade yet, he is miles and miles better than the current Arsenal ‘keeper. Let’s hope Wenger sees the light!

  44. agirlagunner says:

rico, I don’t think they’re married; maybe that’s why Jack is playing hooky in Vegas. Plus, i also remember Jack was involved in a nightclub fight. He would do well to remember that hangers on are there only as long as he has funds to be supporting them in some silly fancy lifestyle…

If the price quoted for Toni Kroos is accurate, then BM are just plain dumb. If the salary demanded by Khedira is as represented, then he can just rot in Madrid. 200K /week is the sort of silly money paid by Madrid, Barca and the oilers.

  45. Woody says:

He’s certainly been on the decline since his first season in the squad/team.

It’s not ability though, he doesn’t seem to want it as much anymore which is very sad and extremely frustrating.

Get Vidal in – I don’t think he’s that attacking. Better than Khedira for me

  46. snaparse says:

exactly post Rico how you come up with this everyday I don’t know….well done……on jack the problem is he hasn’t proven anything yet but he still is on 80/100k a week now tell me where the motivation is? jack IMO doesn’t seem like someone who wants to learn he can be our ready made replacement for arteta but does he know that yet? he can’t keeping living on hype forever look at Bentley with all the talent like I always say all the talent in the world means nothing if there is no hard work……… at the end of the day he will decide which part he wants to take for his and arsenal sake I pray and hope he gets his head straight and become who we all hope he will become…

  47. potter says:

I am not sure if it’s Jack that needs taking to one side or his mate that keeps offering the fags. Maybe a word in his shell like might be more productive.

  48. Scott From Oz says:

Real and Barca must pay over the odds on wages, as Spain’s tax rate is massive now.
I’ve got ya back, Ginge 🙂

  49. tsgh says:

Hi Agag, I know rico will ask if I was a fly on the wall but apparently Sami’s i salary is not that high its the fact that he wants the tax matched in the uk which is impossible as that means we have to pay 20% more to match what he earns in RM

Kroos was a steal Agag… I am very crossed hearing AW turned Kroos down… apparently 😉

  50. Scott From Oz says:

Snap. I’ve got to the point now where I forget to compliment Rico on the posts, yet I do whenever someone else writes one.
    I apologise unreservedly, Rico.
It’s just that yours are always brilliant….every day.
So I thank you for every post you have written, and will write….just in case I forget.

  51. tsgh says:

Woody, comparing Vidal and Sami will put you in my virtual black book. 😛

I know you are Scott, just pay up. 😛

  52. tsgh says:

    Agag, Kroos had 1 year left and he has said he won’t re-sign a new deal as he is not appreciated;
that was why the fee is low
I wonder why he is going to RM then…

  53. tsgh says:

snap, I know weall thought kroos will join RM but it hurts more than I thought it would…

it could be worse, he could be joining judas in yanited

  54. rico says:

    Welcome DownUnder..

Oops, silly me agag, I forgot that, but where is his partner and two kids I wonder… 😉

  55. Woody says:

Why have I ventured in your black book T’s?

I’m not comparing them as players, I’m comparing them as postential signings as we have been (sort of) linked to both

  56. Micko says:

    Morning all,
Talking of benders, has wath gone off on one ?

Snap, caught your comment on ramsey earlier, no fancy footwork or step-overs, it’s his footwork that’s blown me away, his skill is as good as anyone at the mo I’d say, just needs to chip in with a few more goals !!!

  57. Nickie says:

Touching moment Scott…lol but the quality of post is excellent always…down to earth, a real supporters post. Love it.

  58. rico says:

Is the Dutch right back Newcastle are signing any good??

If he is, wonder why AW didn’t go for him as he’s only £5 million… lol

  59. Woody says:

Haha, I didn’t think you were trying to upset me, but I am unaware of your hatred for people comparing Vidal with Khedira

  60. tsgh says:

Micko is always in my black book…I keep reminding him to sleep with one eye open. 😀

What’s all this Rico loving.? ;).. she and John Cross and the lad from metro go way way back. 😛

  61. tsgh says:

Rico, re Janmart its because he plays for Feyenood.. wrong academy for Aw imho…AW likes De Vrij though same club

Seriously Janmaat is a proper defender so Aw won’t fancy him…

Janmaart is more like Sagna than Debuchy…

  62. tsgh says:

Woody, its because Sami turned us down before he moved from Stuggart to RM re money..

From day 1, I didn’t think he has improved and for that £20m plus £8m salary we can get better that is all….

Moreover, Sami only had 1 good game in the WC. Against Ghana and Algeria he was very very poor…

    And those teams had pace…

  63. snaparse says:

ts Carlo rates kross highly I think and remember Alonso is getting on plus khedira Is moving too……if arsene really turned kross down then I’m livid…..those of u in UK please any news about gnabry???really like the lad I’m expecting big things from him

  64. agirlagunner says:

    Hello, all. 🙂

Scott, I never noticed that we won less with Jack. What was apparent to me was his temper; and that he couldn’t channel it to be more productive. He gets angry and goes into wild tackles, argues with teammates, gets stroppy. He has such talent, but needs to calm down and work on his decision-making.

ginge, even with that one year running down, surely BM could have negotiated for more. When you look at how much unproven English talents go for, what BM are getting is embarrassing. makes Gazidis and Law look competent. 🙂

A for Sami, we have gotten rid of a lot of deadwood, surely we can manage his pay??

  65. Woody says:

T’s I’m in total agreement with you. I’ve never seen Khedira play that well – maybe I’ve not watched the right games, but either way I’d prefer someone I know a bit more about for obvious reasons.

That said, if it’s Khedira or no one then I’d happily have him to provide depth and competition

  66. agirlagunner says:

rico, JW is behaving like a footballer. That is to say, like an arse sometimes. But he is young, so I am inclined to give this year to prove he hasn’t been all hype.

And I second all the compliments you’ve been given today re: HH. 🙂 🙂

  67. agirlagunner says:

Woody, Khedira is really good. It’s just difficult to shine at Madrid where the success of players is measured in flashy goals and fancy footwork. He’s been in and out of injury though. On the other hand, I have never paid much attention to Morgan. If he is younger, cheaper, and better, then we really should just go all out for him.

  68. Scott From Oz says:

Agag, we did over quite a period of time.
Even when Jack played well, we’d often lose.
His fault or Wengers for not using him the right way?

  69. Marinello says:

86 year old woman appears in court on a shoplifting charge. The Judge on passing sentence asked what she stole. She answered “a tin of peaches your Honour.”
The Judge asked how many slices were in the tin? The old lady replied “Six.”
The Judge said “Well, I will give you a day in prison for each slice.” On hearing this her 88 year old husband said “Your Honour, she also stole a tin of peas…..”

  70. agirlagunner says:

snaparse, to me Pogba is a taller version of Theo, he makes great runs… and then frequently… nothing. 😉 Haha. Not knocking him for the sake of just knocking him. I think we have enough players with technique. We need grafters… The Chilean players really impressed me; even if they did not progress far. For a team with few stars, I loved their work ethic.

  71. Micko says:

Each to their own snap but ramsey all day for me, from what little I saw of pogba at the WC he didn’t really float my boat or drive my tractor as rico would say !

See your covering all bases again agag !

  72. rico says:

11.58 Ts, more of that and you’ll be in spam.. lol

Thanks re the left back, not sure I agree re AW stuff…

  73. potter says:

Income Tax Rates for the year ended 31st December 2014

From (Euros) To (Euros) State tax %

These are the Spanish income tax rates on earnings. So earnings of 300,000 euros plus per annum are subject to 51.5 % . Ours is 45% over £150.000.

His current salary less tax gets him approx £30,000 a week take home.
If he truly is asking for £ 150,000 a week after tax from us , he is tearing the arse out of it and should be told where to go. He might be good but he aint that good.

  74. Nickie says:

I just think Khedira has the glitz and glam about him. Makes people stop and think wow Arsenal are going for it. He is a great player with pedigree. I feel personally at 23m plus 150k min a week contract it’s a bit too much and Schniederlin/Bender would do what we need for cheaper. Then again, the Khedira move would make our big guns happier, Ozil would have his best friend and Sanchez would be feeling like he made the right move seeing the players we’re bringing in addition to himself. A schniederlin wouldn’t dampen the squads mood but it wouldn’t raise it as high as a Khedira.

Very much like a car. Brand = Bucks…..unbranded (with all the gadgets you want) = does job but doesn’t turn heads

  75. agirlagunner says:

Lol, Micko. I’m all for Khedira cause I have seen a lot of him; I haven’t really seen much of Morgan though. 😛

Marinello, lol. Maybe, a packet of rice/couscous, while the husband is at it. 😛

  76. agirlagunner says:

Hiya, Marinello. Been a while. I am well, thanks for asking. And you, sir? 🙂 🙂

Nickie, Khedira to AFC confirms Madrid and Barca as our feeder clubs. Haha. 😀

  77. potter says:

Yeah AGAG but does it also mean that behind the scenes he has been trying for a new contract and Madrid are saying at that price we will whip you off to some other mug to pay it.

  78. tsgh says:

Potter, I posted what i read a few weeks back on RMadrid info even before we were linked that; RM offer him no improved deal and so he turned it down…

According to ‘bitter’ RM fans Sami has only played 91-ish odd games with 6 goals in 5 years in all competitions?

How many games has sick-note JW played in that same time.. more me think; infact 105 game with 10 goals… and I am highly critical of JW…

  79. Magnetben says:

Özil got really excited on German tv just a couple of minutes ago.. Khedira was Standing next to him and was asked if they would play together next season and Özil was yelling “Arsenal jawohl”

  80. tsgh says:

My bad since 2010 Jw has started 98 times and been a sub 22 times and scored 9 goals…

My argument has been that if a player is injury prone in Spain, then the likelihood of the said player keeping Diaby company in the sick-bay will be high 😉

Every signing is a gamble but are some gambles really too expensive…

  81. Nickie says:

    Mag…

I like seeing a happy Ozil, if that’s what he said it’s “Arsenal affirmative” hmm

  82. agirlagunner says:

potter, that’s just so depressing. I like my version better. 😉 As for Madrid, even with all their fantastic players, they barely won the CL, and was out of the Liga weeks before the last match day. Just shows you how much they know. Haha. Their purchase and sales often do not make sense, either; if the flog him to us, I wouldn’t complain.

Nickie, I will never forgive Wenger for signing up Silvestre/Squillacci et al, but many players who come to Arsenal leave sooo much better than when they first arrived. Then become nothing again after they move on. (Cesc, Song, Hleb et al.) Maybe, he does work magic.

  83. Nickie says:

    Ts Agreed.

If we go far in every competition we look to enter that’s a whole lot of games plus any replays etc.

Khedira’s return in terms of games doesn’t warrant his high wages/fee for a player on the last year of his contract.

If we were going for a Khedira style why not go all out for Vidal 35mil and give him 130-150k. I’m sure there are other reliable world class players we can pay a little more for and skimp on the wages lol

  84. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, they should go on a gluten-free diet. Lol. That would be miserable, but if it keeps them healthier, well, well…

    Magnetben, what does ‘jawohl’ mean??

  85. tsgh says:

interesting, i might go on gluten free too, so I can sort out my knee.. a bit too expensive though- Agag

All an opinion Nickie, but Sami’s injury was an ACL that means he will get another one soon based on past history of players like Bobby Pires, Frimpong, Diaby etc…

  86. agirlagunner says:

Maybe we’d sign Vidal on the last day of the window. That would make me so happy. 🙂 The only problem with his is his height… which would be Khedira’s edge. 🙂

  87. rogerbij says:

Hey Magnetben was that during the WC celebrations?
Nickie, you hit the nail on the head, he’ll never last the number of games we need him for. And yes, better options.
Did I start the Vidal rumours (11:06?) – Ill take it anyway. ) – Exacto, once you get into Khedira fee lalaland you might as well go all the way and get Vidal

  88. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, someone had already brought up that gluten-free diet discussion in here last year; apparently, because some athletes swear by it. Djokovic, does at least. Or as RvP also believes, maybe some horse placenta would do the trick. 😀

  89. agirlagunner says:

roger, Vidal’s move to United has stalled; when better to start rumors of his impending move to us. Plus, I should imagine Felicevich is still enjoying the warm fuzzy feelings of a generous commission and may be inclined to help us out with the Vidal deal. 😀 😀

  90. agirlagunner says:

Thanks, for the translation, Nickie. 🙂

Boo, Kev!! How’s driving? 😉 You on a tea break?

  91. allezkev says:

Our Jacky boy, now there’s a problem, or so it seems?

Was Jack the only English player to have a poor World Cup?

    No.

Is Jack the only professional footballer to have the odd cigarette?

    No.

Is Jack the only professional footballer who likes the odd drink?

    No.

Does Jack Wilshere play for Arsenal?

    Yes.

Think about that Gooners, before WE start digging him out.

  92. allezkev says:

Hi Agag, hows it going Buddy…

Have you got your new Puma Arsenal shirt yet, you know, the one with Torres on the back? 😀

  93. agirlagunner says:

Kev, to be fair Jack is appreciated in here. But he does leave himself open to criticism with his off-pitch behavior. I think people would be more inclined to be indulgent if he had the work-rate to match his obvious talent.

In any case, I hope he learns his lesson. Because he’s Arsenal, he will always be under harsher scrutiny.

  94. rogerbij says:

Rico, Ive uncovered your WordPress problem with moderation – it happens when people post links to statistics 😉
    Let me out 😉

  95. agirlagunner says:

Kev, not yet. The pillows and duvet have arrived by post though. 😛 😛 Seriously, Mourinho should just sell him to us. He is definitely an Arsenal type of player. 🙂

  96. tsgh says:

Rico, have you heard the urban saying… ‘real G’s don’t die they multiply’?

Now you have more statistian on here than before… 😀 At least my stats were termed ‘figures’… lol

  97. rico says:

Kev, tbh, the WC performance didn’t even enter my head as all I really care about is Jack for Arsenal…

Also, I think what irks me after this latest is just a few months ago he claimed to be a non smoker..

That’s like me saying I don’t drink fizzy wine… lol

  98. agirlagunner says:

rog, Vidal it is then!! We’ll have another one with an interesting haircut. 😀 Would take some of the heat off of Le Quiff. 😛

  99. agirlagunner says:

rico, what I remember of that first smoking incident is that JW’s reps were trying to say it was a dare or something before JW himself came clean when AW asked him about it.

In any case, I look forward to seeing him come good in the coming season. If the development of Gnabry, Zelalem and Eisfeld continue as planned, he might be left too often on the bench.

  100. tsgh says:

    IG and Law… a bunch of clowns…

Chavs have completed Felipe Luis deal and are going for Greizman and have this afternoon made inquiries for Pogba…

Why is IG in Spain when he can be in London or Southampton nagging Southampton for Morgan…

  101. rico says:

Me too agag, let’s hope he does because in all honesty, if IG and his merry men are going to make a few more top signings, he needs to step his game up….

Hope he’s over his injury and this is a good season for him…

  102. Wavy says:

Three cheers for the demise of Gove. Gove is gone long live the education service, if it ever recovers!!

  103. magnetben says:

    Hi Tsgh,

yep it has been a while – but i was reading along every once in a while.

and yes – the talk was during the world cup celebration in Berlin.

I think in Munich everybody is a bit pissed at Kroos, they don’t want him to earn the same amount of money as Lahm, Ribery or Robben. But I think they are paying even Götze more.. Kroos had always a “loser” image but I guess this will change now 🙂

btw: I was at the Emirates for my first time back in April when we played against West Ham – was amazing 🙂

  104. tsgh says:

Ben its not news here yet but is it true Kroos was offered to us? I should be doing this off line but 😉

  105. BrainwashedKev says:

    Hello Ginge…

    Vidal would be nice.

I get that Agag, but there’s plenty of players out there who’ve dumped on us in recent times, like RVP, Song, Cesc, Nasri…

Jack has stayed loyal, you never hear about problems with him re: contracts etc…
We need all our quality players and we need to support them against the a Press agenda that wants to undermine our club…

Rico, I understand, but let’s see how this coming season pans out before flogging him off. 😉

Hiya Bruvver Lee. Keep the HHCC Faith… 😛

  106. rico says:

They got Sanchez done well enough, IF and that’s a big IF IG is in Spain, that could suggest we are in for a player from the Spanish league….

    Khedira I hope… lol

  107. tsgh says:

Rico, AS shown have been completed earlier…

If City or Juve had come in heavy we might have lost imho of course…

  108. rico says:

Kev, I haven’t quite got to the flogging him off…. yet.. 😉

Ts, why and how could it be, pretty soon after Chile were knocked out it was done… Many players said they didn’t want distractions over transfers before the WC, maybe Sanchez was one of them….
He said he wanted to join only us so Juve and City wouldn’t have got him regardless of how ‘hard’ they could have tried.

Reality is, they didn’t…. and not even Jose could stuff us up this time..

I’m prepared to give credit where it’s due….

You are just bitter because AW doesn’t want Morgan but you do… lol

  109. magnetben says:

@rico – yes he should.. but there is something that I don’t understand.

The Arsenal – Khedira emerged during the last couple couple weeks. The guy was playing a world cup at that time. They just got back from Brazil, I damn sure he never said to anyone that he wants 150k a week. I guess none of the german players was thinking about the future in terms of earnings or anything. Maybe Mesut (they were both in the same house in the camp) convinced him that it would be a good idea to come to Arsenal, but that’s about it in my opinion.

These figures are just made up by his agents or something. I don’t know.. but real progress on this case will start in the next days. As I said, I’m sure no one talked to him about wage demands yet.

  110. agirlagunner says:

Kev, agreed re: contracts. That’s why I warmed up to Theoooo! 😀 It’s all up to Jack now to prove the doubters wrong.

  111. rico says:

Ben, I had my tongue in my cheek honest. Like you, I don’t believe a word of what the press say and where all this £150,000 a week reports have come from, goodness only knows.

If we really are in for Sami, I think what you suggest might be right and negotiations will begin once he’s stopped celebrating and before he has a holiday.

It could be that a fee has been agreed with RM as reported, but the rest couldn’t have been done whilst he’s playing and there’s no chance his agent will have contacted prior to the final. Well, not imo anyway…

  112. tsgh says:

Lol 😀 Rico, you know me so well…

Honestly, we fluffed around and inquired about Balo’ too keeping our options opened…

Only the poor showing of Italy made us refocus on AS imo…

According to rumours only Aw speaking to As and us increading our offer made Juve go away….

From a distance, I doubt a club will waste time making a formal dip unless the player is remotely interested…

Its the same way we do business, we ask or inquire about 10 players and then do a last minute sweep when things don’t go well.

Gervinho and Nasri were bought in July too the rest happened on the last day.. )

  113. potter says:

I disagree Ben , I would think in the first discussion about a move the subject of money would have been raised whether with the player or his leech. If there is common ground an agreement can be found if however the reported figures are correct , he can do one.

  114. lee says:

But weren’t people saying Sanchez was Liverpool bound? We’ve got a real game changer in him and the window is still open….I’m confident we will get more players of his calibre….but i’m not an ITK wanker

  115. rico says:

Ts, how can you be sure the Mario stories were true? I strongly suspect you can’t.

In fact AW confirmed that there was absolutely no truth in the story so why would you think otherwise?

Re Sanchez, surely if IG etc upped the offer and got the player, that’s good business. Too many times in the past we have refused to budge.

  116. Nickie says:

lol it’s so on and off. Head is all over the place. This will be one of them that will play out for a long time

  117. rico says:

They were Lee, Gerrard was one of them. I honestly believe the club did well for once and I’m chuffed to punch they got the deal done early.

    2.21 – I know and i’m not itk either 🙂

  118. rico says:

In fact many people from Liverpool thought they’d got Sanchez, what a bunch of itk w****s they are….. lol

  119. tsgh says:

    Fair enough Rico… we don’t know…

Aw denied knowing SC19 and Arteta…

He even denied AS link in Brazil in June…

  120. magnetben says:

Potter you might be right, I just don’t know. But I can’t imagine that he was talking to anyone between a worldcup quarter or semi final or even before the game against Argentina – and surely he wasn’t talking to anyone in the last couple of days during the celebration. I believe this is far from an agreement and just a lot of smoke by the media.

  121. rico says:

Absolutely Ts, we don’t, well I know I don’t and yes, AW does stray from the truth very often when it comes to transfers, but when you look at Mario, he isn’t the kind of player who AW would want imo, he’s trouble…

  122. Bt62 Gooner says:

Rico, in the past, who do you think refused to budge? Good post as usual, with Jack, time to step up or step out the door, he can’t afford to piss about any more. Afternoon all!!

  123. rico says:

Thanks Bt, I think it’s been Wenger, but this time he’s been told to keep out of things other than to name the players he wants…

  124. tsgh says:

I personally think potter is spot on …

Imho I think we fans are being naive when we think clubs and agents are on some sort of cold war frontier waiting for the proverbial window/walls to open before they talk to each other…

All this ‘the player is on international duty’ is bollox in the 21 century imho…

Players go on duties with their wags and agents who are in vip boxes etc minhling with everyone important and brand managers for their next big contract.

Toni Kroos deal was happening whilst Germany were in the later stages of games…

Several days ago I posted the ‘rumours’ that Aw had spoken to a german player’s agent to gauge if his player would move.. that was way before Sami had his 70 minutes show case against Brazil…

I know I will get called all sorts for saying the following but consider this…
    1. I guessed Costa will move to Chelsea in January when fans on here were saying we should be going for Costa and got slated for saying Costa was shite…
    2. I guessed AW will make a move for Sanchez last summer and again January…
    3. Before the WC when most folks on here did not know James I guessed that LS07 would move to Barca and RM would be after James
    4. I guessed Cesc wont join us when every media ITK brigadier was talking about Cesc joining us and getting AFC fans hopes up…
    5. I had been saying for ages kroos was RM bound

My views are always always consistent… 😉

  125. potter says:

Ben , I agree, that I too doubt that the Khedira deal is done and dusted however I have to say that negotiations are done with the agent , the player just finds out whether the talks were successful and how much he is getting.

  126. agirlagunner says:

You being smug, Ginge. 😛 😛

Well, I wished a wish upon a starry star, and then I woke up and found Sanchez had signed. 🙂 Haha. Torres, next.

  127. lee says:

Only just if I’m drinking with you….don’t invite the cava queen, you’ll be skint by Saturday!

  128. Bt62 Gooner says:

Rico, agree with you AW ref transfers, do your bit when required and let us do our work, without interference.

  129. Joaquim Moreira says:

About the others, we will see

  130. rico says:

Actually, I think I may have just had another…. lol

  131. rico says:

Me neither Adam, you know what my memory is like…. lol

🙂 Bt, maybe next time you are over HH can have a curry lunch.. Let me know and I’ll book a holiday… lol

  132. Bt62 Gooner says:

Rico, saw a report about a 7ft tuna on a beach in Cornwall, thought it may have been yours.

  135. Joywedsjeff says:

Just make sure you come back in one piece…i.e do not tackle. Just run around a lot and you will bag the MOTM award.

  136. rico says:

    Plonker!!

Alan Hansen has admitted to one regret during his time as a pundit, but it is not for the comment that most famously haunted him.

Over such a long period of time inevitably mistakes were made but Hansen has only one regret from his career analysing matches. But it wasn’t his claim that you cannot win anything with kids, a view rubbished when the Manchester United team he was talking about went on to carry the Red Devils through the most glorious years in the club’s history.

The former Liverpool defender revealed in his column for The Telegraph that it was his criticism of Theo Walcott that troubled him.

“Four years ago, I said that Theo Walcott did not have a “football brain”, without realising that my comments would be misinterpreted to such an extent,” he wrote in his column.

“The meaning of my observation was not as brutal as it may have come across, but nonetheless, I was critical of Walcott’s ability and I am pleased to say that Theo has proved me wrong one million per cent.”

  137. Wavy says:

    Bloody Nora !
    Hansen, wrong?
    Never!
Time he was gone! Still he has a few years yet before he can draw his oap! If he’s paid all his stamps that is!!

  138. agirlagunner says:

We are linked to Kalou for the nth time. Lol. Kev must be overcome with Joy. 😀

And on that note, good night, all. 🙂

  139. Hell Raising Devil says:

Left wing ,right wing!!! Both are the same for me Ginge. I can play on both. The problem is that I cannot play through the centre of the pitch due to my size.

    Good evening wise fellas.

So many is being said about Debuchy and Manquillo. But what if Tommy V goes??? what about a new CB???

err!!! we already have him. Jenks!!!!!

  140. rico says:

Maybe we’ll see Jenks play there pre-season Devil and Kos/Merts won’t be back for a while yet….

  141. Joywedsjeff says:

Costa to Chelsea now official… At the end of the day we signed Sanchez before Costa. Superb work Ivan and Law. Perharps Arsene should follow the Pardew route and praise himself…lol

  142. Joywedsjeff says:

Conte resigns from Juve… Apparently not happy that the boardare trying to flog Vidal/Pogba. On the other hand Di Maria and Khedira available from Madrid to make space for Hames and Kroos. Plenty twists and turns left in the transfer window.

  143. rico says:

Plenty of twists and turns, just hope we play a big part in them…

    Dippers have signed another then…

  144. Joywedsjeff says:

Em Rico…i’ve written a satirical post about Arsenal, Ozil and Sanchez. Undecided whether to send it across. It will probably lead to lots of insults on here by those who visit once a while. Even i felt like insulting myself after writing.. Can send it tomorrow if you want?

  145. Joywedsjeff says:

Yes Rico re Liverpool. Don;t know much about him though. Brenda is signing players with resellable value but all his signings have been poor bar Sturridge. Coutinho blew hot and cold last season and was overtaken by Sterling. Don’t worry too much about Liverpool though their fear factor is gone. Teams will simply sit back against them and ask to be broken down.

  146. Gonerjoe says:

Good evening everyone I see micheal owen is at it again first of all he’s saying Arsenal won’t finsh in the top four.
I think it was Einestine (spelling) said insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
He also used Suarez and feast in the same sentence yep it’s true. 😀 😀

  147. Gonerjoe says:

The world cup ended two nights ago thanks to the modern game I am watch CL football tonight.

  148. Gonerjoe says:

Football seems to be full of kn*bs all taking a pop at Arsenal. I see you spent the morning discussing jack my take on him is he is a very good player and can get better.
This smoking issue is not really an event to me when you compare his behavior to Tony Adams antics.

  149. rico says:

Joe, Jack could be one of the very best and for a long time IF he wants to…

I love him but he really needs to quit the fags… 😉

Big Tony, well that was a different era, just as it was for many of our players but AW is all about diet and looking after the body and what Jack gets up to is against that…

Mind you, all this fitness, diet and stuff hasn’t kept our bouys out of the Drs room…

    Gone now….

  150. Micko says:

Can’t believe I had an argument with my wife of GB.

  152. Micko says:

Gjoe, have to agree with your 8.56, that’s why i didn’t stick the knife in today, so he likes the odd ciggie and a sherbet or two but at the same time keeps himself in good shape, he’s obviously got too much time on his hands, he might consider another tramp stamp or maybe apply for a pilots licence, the pre-season would literally fly by.

  153. NashuaGunners says:

Hello Everyone and Good Read Rico

JW will change one day when he realize time wait for no man, but I love him. Being one of my favorite. TV5 is another one. I would just hate to see them go.

Very good discussions as always but Marinello stole the day…

    Marinello @ 12:23
86 year old woman appears in court on a shoplifting charge. The Judge on passing sentence asked what she stole. She answered “a tin of peaches your Honour.”
The Judge asked how many slices were in the tin? The old lady replied “Six.”
The Judge said “Well, I will give you a day in prison for each slice.” On hearing this her 88 year old husband said “Your Honour, she also stole a tin of peas…..”

  154. Gonerjoe says:

Micko nice to see we agree on something 🙂 but come on the whole world go’s in to melt down over football player having cigarette maybe the fact it’s an Arsenal player.

  155. ` says:

Gjoe it’s a knock on from the debacle of England’s world cup f**k up. The media are looking for a scapegoat and Jack hasn’t got the brains to keep his head down and stay out of the limelight. he has a rep for being a wild child and they are going to pull him every time he does something.
Others will get away with it , Jack won’t it’s time for him to start learning that life isn’t fair.

  156. Gonerjoe says:

Something else that pissed me off to day was this great story how Gerrard is all ready back in training.
Well yea he’s 34 and if I kept f***ing up the way he in he’s last 5-6 matches I’d make an extra effort to give me a bucket.

  157. Gonerjoe says:

    Says
If the want a scape goat how about the idiot who kept giving the ball away allowing the opponents to score ie Gerrard.

  158. potter says:

Gerrard is a hero don’t you know – an institution , the media won’t turn on him . He plays for Liverpool and as most of the media did also , he is untouchable. Jack however plays for the most detested club in the country and is an easy target. One day someone will tell him what is going on outside his London Colney bubble and realise the abuse and piss taking the rest of us have to put up with from the media.

  159. cardosky says:

Let forget about jack what ever he dose he dose it to himself when he grows up he we learn guys let talk about this sanchez deal will walcott and chamberlein have full playing time?

  160. Dgob says:

I hope Jack can pull his finger out and rededicate himself this season. He’s come a long way with the club and we should be the team to see the best of him. Gerard’s a joke as are most of the Scouse commentators: Carragher questioning the purchase of Sanchez (for the good of our home grown players) at a time when they over-spend on such British talent as Can and Markovic!!

On the Khedira buy, I’d still prefer Bender or Schneiderln who are more defensive minded. But I’ll live very happily with any of the above, Fingers crossed!!!

Morning Devil. Think i’ve probably seen the same as you, fee supposedly agreed but the wages are a stumbling block..

  162. lee says:

Marca claiming Khedira’s salary is approx. 7m euros p.a (£105k pw)……if that’s true more good work done by Dickie!!!

  163. Nickie says:

That’s net Lee … they used the term “netos” that means net in Spanish. That would make his salary huge! lol

  164. snaparse says:

morning all…….Rico who is big nose???….and blue eyes?// Lol….Dortmund closing in on ginter we should be all over him IMO he covers two positions and is going relatively cheap

  165. tsgh says:

Snap, I dont know how to take the Ginter news… at least it Klopp and BVB so…

So its now official losserpool fans have the lowest IQ in football; at least according to daily Fail..

Morning Rico, Dev, Nickie and all

    sami being asked about us..

  166. snaparse says:

hi ts I thought arsene was a fan? remember us making a bid or was it just rumours anyways I think its just a no brainer really…..I don’t like khedira in the DM spot I want a specialist like Morgan or Kramer or even ginter

  167. Nickie says:

    Morning you guys 🙂

lol I said a few days ago Ron Vlaar is decent back up. Reports are doing the rounds we’ve placed a 6m bid

  168. Hell Raising Devil says:

Arsenal are ready to use Manchester United’s interest in Thomas Vermaelen to their advantage by asking for a player or two to move the other way if they do agree to sell their captain to the Old Trafford team.

Louis Van Gaal has reportedly identified Vermaelen as his man to take over the senior defensive mantle at Manchester United following the departure of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, but the Gunners have so far knocked back all offers from their English Premier League rivals.

Arsenal, though, will consider making a deal for their skipper if United are willing to throw in a player in a swap deal, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Arsene Wenger, seemingly in full signing mode this summer, is an admirer of Chris Smalling, having failed to sign the defender from Fulham with the England international choosing to move to Old Trafford in 2010.

According to the report, Wenger will be open to doing a deal with United if Smalling or someone of the Arsenal manager’s interest is included.

Another United player to have been linked with a move to the Emirates in the past is Javier Hernandez, and with Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney already on top of the pecking order, the Mexican might be open to a move away, with Wenger thought to be a fan of the marksman.

Tell you what guys…….We give them TommyV+money (say 7mill) and Smalling, Cleverley and Hernandez come our way.

    what do you think????

  169. Hell Raising Devil says:

oui Lady. Got a full peep. And more than what I bargained for. I saw many things 😛

  170. Hell Raising Devil says:

Smalling plus Hernandez then!!!! But I will not go beyond TommyV and 5mill since I think TV05 is worth 12mill. That makes it 17mill for both which equals 8.5million each.

  171. Nickie says:

It’s from a Bt Sport Representative on twitter Rico….which means it’s trollop lol…I’d take that Hell, Smalling would only be 3rd choice like Verm. Hernandez solid back up also

  172. Nickie says:

I thought we were clearing the deadwood Devil…We have done a great job in clearing the dead wood aswell. He’s nothing more than an English Denilson. Why go back to old ways and get mediocre squad fillers on big wages

  173. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. I can’t see anything that Cleverley might offer that would be especially unique.
There’s a bit of a battle behind the scenes going on with Khedira between ourselves and that other snivelling excuse for a human being from West London. It will be resolved soon I am told.

  174. Hell Raising Devil says:

I said a squad player Nickie. Not a first team player. A player who can fill in to rest others in the final minutes of some of the games. Yes we already have Ramsey, Ozil, Arteta, Wilshere, TR07 and Flamini plus we may get Khedira however he surely has better legs than Flamini and Arteta, plus he is a stronger improvement on Diaby. And he can rotate to rest the others.

Plus he is English which many of you seem to forget. We need englishmen in the squad to balance the 25 man rule. How many English midfielders are available at a cut price????
