Is the mess at Arsenal a good thing? Ox the bad apple? Ozil could be on the move but Arsenal deny Alexis Sanchez has submitted a transfer request..

Morning all.

Well well, Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to have got his move away from the club. It could be to Chelsea, although Liverpool could yet up the price. Sell to the highest bidder I say, as either way it’s strengthening a rival. Good luck to him. If he doesn’t want to be at the club then it’s best he isn’t. Same with any other player who doesn’t want to be at Arsenal. Perhaps The Ox was the bad apple in the bunch, the internal problem Wenger hinted at after the pathetic showing at Anfield, the man at the heart of the alleged bust up in the changing rooms before the game.

There’s been suggestion that Alexis has handed in a transfer request, but this has been denied by the club. Mustafi could soon be gone, Ozil too if he fancies playing for Dortmund. That’s according to the media anyway.

More important than who wants out is what the heck is going on at our club. It’s in a mess. Why do so many want out, why is Wenger still at the club and after his ‘If I’m the problem, then I’m sorry’ comment doesn’t he accept defeat and leave? What on earth possesses him to stay when all around him is collapsing fast? Watching him in the dugout was a sad sight on Sunday. He was lost, his hands shaking whilst sipping from a bottle of water. That’s not good for him, his health is heading downhill as quick as our club is.

He is clearly the problem, yet in his mind, he thinks he can turn it around, he must do otherwise he’d have walked away by now. But he can’t, the problems are too deep and only someone new can walk in a give the whole place a massive lift. A lift which has been needed for a long time.

Too many players have an easy life at Arsenal and it doesn’t matter how they play, they know they’ll be selected next time around. Other managers, ‘lesser’ one too would have dumped a few on the bench at best, but no, Arsene does what Arsene does best.

But funny enough, what’s going on is probably good for the club in the long term. The poop has hit the fan and there’s no hiding. No hiding for the players, the manager or the board. The timing could have been better but at least we’ve pretty much hit rock bottom.

I know I sound like a broken record but I don’t think we have bad players, we are short in central defence and midfield in my opinion but as for the rest, a new guy would soon get their motivation and level of performance up to where it could be, certainly where it should be. Look what happened at Chelsea after Mourinho left, Leicester too once Ranieri left. It can happen at Arsenal too. The club and Wenger have two weeks, two weeks to do something positive. The board must have a plan in place for the day Wenger leaves and with all the doubts towards the end of last season over whether he would or not, surely that plan was discussed.

I’d like to think that someone on the board will make a call. Enough is enough and quietly sit down with Arsene Wenger and tell him it’s time to go. Time for new ideas, new tactics and a manager who won’t leave his best left-back on the bench just three games into a new season. One who will select his team based on performance and work ethic. One who will studiously work on the opposition rather than the way he wants play regardless. Someone with a plan.

Either that or Arsene Wenger himself calls time on his own career at Arsenal. It’s not like it’d be overdue…

Sadly though, I think we’ll be witnessing more of what we saw at Anfield for a while yet and in some ways, that’s fine by me because at some stage, someone will have to do something about it. Right now we look more like a club heading for relegation than a club heading for great things.

If Arsene Wenger is still at the club come Christmas, I’ll eat my hat….

We won’t go down that path today, Rico, as we know where each other stands.
Alexis-what’s your thoughts on that rumour?

  2. Lee says:

Rico, why would any player want to be part of this team managed by a nutter? The lack of a plan is coming to fruition the free fall has started…it had to get worse before it got better. Tuchel would be a good appointment to try and stabilise this terrible mess Wenger has the squad in…write this season off and build for next.

Give another manager a crack, get the nutter out pronto!

  3. Lee says:

Beggar’s belief the team selection on Sunday, the two new signings must be think WTF have done coming here to play under a mad professor?

  4. frednerk says:

I for one new this would happen
    but hoped it did’nt.
I cannot see how we have a chance
of shifting The Syrup,he runs all the
    business the same.

Arsene has asked for sterling after
    Sanchez threw another wobbler on
    the way back.

Sanchez will sign for City maybe to-nite.
    Arsene always wanted sterling when
he was at QPR he sent scouts to nearly
    every youth game..Sterlings a gooner.

  5. Wavy says:

Does anybody know when the next board meeting is?

Yes Rico I agree with all you say. The only difference is that I want the old has been gone by the end of the day! However, I will help you eat your hat if M. Wenger is still in post at Christmas!

I really hope the Ox settles in quickly at the chavs and shows what a buffoon our manager is/was. That is until young Alex gets hurt and misses the next season and a half. I believe he like a bit of a holiday, especially during term time!

If Sanchez does leave It will be because SK has ordered him to be sold for the going rate and not for nothing next July. Can anybody honestly believe that he wouldn’t want his cash in the bank, his bank, moreover? Sod the soccer give me the loot!

Finally, for now, if we lose our best players Sanchez and Ozil, and no replacements are delivered by the supermarket trolley, the squad we will be left with will be little better than Crystal Palace’s. We will almost certainly finish below the half way down the league table Mark. My, how the mighty are fallen.

Morning all. Another grey one here. Hardly an inspirational weather outlook for today.

Come on Wenger do the honourable thing……RESIGN……… today!

  6. Lee says:

I think Wenger maybe ill, in all seriousness. I mean Welbeck at CF who cannot score in a month of Sundays, Lacazette and Perez piss all over him!!!

  7. Lee says:

Sterling couldnt lace Sanchez’s boots up….terrible deal for me! But then again I’m used to shit decision making with Wenger at the helm!

  8. Lee says:

Wavy have you seen any flying pigs in Norfolk lately? More chance of that than the French Controller doing the right thing! ?

  9. rico says:

I think Alexis will go Scott.

The odd thing is though Lee, Lacazette did and Kolasinac too. The latter had a free choice too. I wonder if either regret their decision already.

Tuchel for me too, no control other than on the pitch etc and as you say, write this season off.. Onwards and upwards..

  10. frednerk says:

If Arsene stays Sanchez has to go asp.

Wish someone could tell me why Ozil
has slipped through all this talk of as if
is was on a 10 year contract.

  11. rico says:

Wavy, I’d imagine the board are in discussions today and will be until the end of the transfer window.

Well, they darn well should be….

I want Wenger gone today too but you’re not having my hat… 😉

Sky Sports are on the Alexis and Sterling swap. Apparently we are after Aguero.

  12. Lee says:

Not many of you answered my question from the previous thread so I’ll ask again…

Do you believe Arsene would win the league with a more hands on’ owner?

  13. lari3 says:

Notice that Wenger’s success dwindled after David Dein departure and he became a nearly man and all of a sudden, he is no longer a winner, because he’s lost the touch.

  14. bradster says:

I would take Sterling and Sturridge. Revert back to a 4-3-3 sell Ozil and give Ramsey that free role instead, he at least tackles 1/10 attempts.
Juan Mata might even be available and Martial at a stretch.

  15. Meerkat says:

I wonder what Jens Lehman had to say in the dressing room after that diabolical surrender at Anfield?
He should be on the touchline every game.
The whole team should be ashamed, some more than others (Ox, Sanchez and Ozil). I even wonder if they didn’t have a little plan between the three of them to sabotage the game for Arsenal. Far fetched? Perhaps, but they certainly played like it.

  16. rico says:

Iari3, not even a DOF would stop Wenger from playing a right back at left back whilst leaving his best left back on the bench…

  17. Malaga gooner says:

    Morning Rico and the house

    Good post

Is it just me, or does anyone else think we could be in a relegation battle

  18. Lee says:

As has been said over and over it’s not the players that need changing it’s the manager.. he could have the Real Madrid squad and fuck it up! He’s become totally clueless

  19. ScottfromOz says:

    I just read a brilliant comment/question, elsewhere.
“Why say Sanchez deserves better, when it’s the fans who deserve better.
Sanchez can leave, but the fans never will”.
    Bravo, I say.
Too many say Ox, Alexis, RVP and others deserve better but that’s bullshit-they don’t even deserve the 100k plus a week they get, so what more could they possibly “deserve”?
We deserve better than what Arsene is dishing up, but we also deserve a lot more effort and appreciation from these overpaid, underworked bloody Prima donnas!!!!

  20. rico says:

Of course Sanchez deserves better, he’s ambitious, but then so are most of the Arsenal fans. What Sanchez wants the club to do is probably similar to what most fans want… Not a last minute trolley dash!

Had Wenger made some cracking signings 6-10 weeks ago, I bet Sanchez would have stayed.

  21. rico says:

IF no players are signed but those who we think will be sold leave and we continue to play like we did on Sunday, then relegation beckons imo. But before then I’d imagine Wenger would be asked to leave.

  22. Adam says:

When things are as bad as they seem there’s always a temptation to think ‘rip it up and start again’ I think. Players will come and go in the next couple of days but the bloke who has made so many shockingly bad decisions looks like remaining. If that is the outcome then why should much change?

  23. ScottfromOz says:

Ruco, you reckon players deserve better when they are paid 160k a week?
I apologise if I think that opinion is incorrect, then.
160k a week and they deserve better.
    What else do they deserve?
    Blood?
    160k a week.
How about he stops moping around like the worlds about to end and he at least tries to earn what he already gets before demanding more?

  24. frednerk says:

    Arsenes contract panto last season
was mentioned last season as a
reason for our players not signing
    new deals.
    Now thats bullshit gang.

  25. Adam says:

Hi Fred. Somewhere between the spin and PR hype that leaks from the club to the fans, the first casualty is truth. I guess that’s why so many people make it up as they go along. 🙂

  26. ScottfromOz says:

    Yep.
One day, Alexis and Ozil wouldn’t ezyemd unless Arsene was leaving.
The next, they wouldn’t extend unless he was staying.
Bullshit, indeed, but hey, we have so many rumours to choose from, everyone gets it right at some point, so we should all keep them coming lol

  27. rico says:

I’m not talking about money Scott, I’m talking about ambition and the lack of it at the club. Is Ox wanting out for more money? I don’t think so..

  28. ScottfromOz says:

    Rico,
220k a week is the rumoured salary offered to Ox.
I’d say that has plenty to do with it, and doubt he’d go to them for the same money he’s on with us.
I doubt he will get more game time at Chelsea than he does with us, either.

  29. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, yes, I’m not sure what we offered him, but the 220 is apparently what Chelsea offered.
Whatever the case, it’s another 35-40 million in the bank.
Hardly a comforting thought, is it lol

  30. rico says:

Well, as I said Scott. My opinion is that he’s fed up with being shunted around or not playing in midfield where he should be. So would I if I saw that useless Ramsey playing there instead..

  31. ScottfromOz says:

Ox has been playing some of his best football for us of late.
Because his dad thinks he’s a CM doesn’t make it so.
In fact, I doubt many at all think he’s a CM.

  32. rico says:

Makes sense to me, his Dad knows his son’s capabilities better than Wenger I’d have thought, especially with his playing experience.

Wenger does the same with so many players, it what he does. Stupidity of the highest order.

  33. Meerkat says:

Lol. A friend posted this on another forum:- “Arsene fancies Jonny Evans, but not the £40m he will cost.
Earlier he said that he liked Virgin van Dick but when S’ton said, “show us your money, £70m”, Prof said ‘oh, hang on, I just left me wallet on the team bus’.

And Citeh have offered our Prof, Sterling plus more sterling for wantaway Alexis.
The stumbling block is that Alexis’s gorgeous model WAG doesn’t fancy Mancland, perhaps Barca will take him back, he would be fine in an SMS line up.”

  34. ScottfromOz says:

    Meerkat,
I’ve also heard we’ve demanded Aguero be part of the deal instead of Sterling.
    Rumours 🙂 🙂

  35. Obi says:

Lee your question is absolutely on mark Thats the reason I have always believed that Wenger is the problem not Stan. Stan’s problem is his loyalty to Wenger. How active the Owner, Board or DoF are would not stop the mismanagement Wenger has showed in tactics, selection, favoritism, and game management.

I have for years attributed Wenger early sucess to tge type of players we had at the club, they managed themselves. This is quiet apparent when you hear Paddy, Henry, Dixon, Lauren, Keon, Wright, Kanu, Parlour etc. speak about the games they played.

  36. Obi says:

Really, if you are Aguero why would you want to come to Arsenal, when healthy he’s the best finisher in EPL? They better off asking for Vieira to be included so Wenger can be fired. Even if Arsenal gets Aguero Wenger would play him as CDM and justify it by saying we have a need there.

  37. Wavy says:

Has he cleared his desk yet?
Gibbs to Watford off…………Gibbs to WBA………?On!
Another one out. Soon we’ll have none, that’ll be a challenge then!

  38. Kel says:

Gibbs and a few quid and get Evans…add vvd that imo would be the logical moves for Arsenal in the next 48hrs…

    We’re leaking like a sieve in defence…

  39. Meerkat says:

No doubt it will be another goonhog day on the last day of the TW, scraping around a few barrels to see what’s lurking at the bottom, and ending up with paying OTT prices for mediocre talent. Same ol’ same ol’.

By the way, remember we are going for the EPL title this season. Oh yus. Prof said so;-)

ps. I agree Kel, those two could make a difference.

  40. Meerkat says:

Talking of who deserves more. No-one deserved trophies and titles more than Stevie Gerrard at Pool, but it wasn’t to be. He stayed put and gave his all though, he didn’t spit his dummy out and move to Chelsea when Napoleon was after him.
The difference is, he wasn’t a mercenary journeyman like some, he loved the club and supporters.

The club doesn’t owe any player success imo, it’s down to the players to earn it and play for it. They earn a fortune every week by our standards, thats more than most people could dream of. They deserve what they get, sometimes they deserve a lot less.

  41. rico says:

Meerkat. Do you know why Gerrard didn’t go to Chelsea at the time? You might want to find out before praising him too much… lol

  42. Alex says:

    LE PROF SAID ”

Ox is not for sale and he is the future of the club and we have invested money and time to develop him.
So why speculate…. if Le Prof said so ?

    On Sanchez

Is not about money but it is about technicality issue in the team.He can go for free next season if is not signing .Period .This are his words so….

So why Mancity offering cash and Sterling make you think otherwise

fake news or fake manager .We will see

  43. Lee says:

FYI Meerkat Gerrard was done at Chelsea it has absolutely fuck all to do with love for the club, manager or fans.

Why wouldn’t you if you were a RVP, Fabregas, Ox or a Sanchez jump ship? I mean a manager that is virtually mental, tactically inept, keeps shoe horning his favourite sub standard players into his appallingly prepared team, diabolical in European football, 13yrs of being also rans in the PL….. no I tell you what I’ll stick around be under paid (compared to elsewhere), with the probability of wining a FA cup being the absolute most I can wish for!!

    Nah your ok thanks.

You’d be as mental as Wenger to stay under his regime.

  44. Lee says:

Alex Wenger definitely lying again, were his lips moving when he was speaking? That’s a tell tale sign.

  45. Lee says:

Joaquim what is Wenger doing to Arsenal you mean?
To think some people thought we’d compete this season. ?

  46. Alex says:

So how much money is doing in this TW…usually we milk City nicely …lol
And for that Ox 35M is a still…..for un upgrade of Feo

Is anyone interersted anyway in him.
I guess we suppose to advertise him on the Olympics ….he could have done some run i guess

  47. micko says:

rico, I could be wrong but get the distinct feeling you don’t think we will be going on a 10 match unbeaten run any time soon.

  48. rico says:

    Micko, maybe just the nine…

In all seriousness, no. As it stands right now I reckon it’ll be win one lose one and draw one repeated time and time again. The only way that might change under Wenger is if he signs a few ‘men’ instead of boys…

  49. micko says:

Jasus, now your talking Adam, weren’t we in for him before though, probably never happen.

Whatever happened to Takuma Asano, anyone know.

  50. Joaquim Moreira says:

    AW e Kroenke.
Compete this season? Gabriel and Mustafi were the 2 central backs that should be blocked to not be transferred.
Kos is injury; Chambers is what he is, Holding is good for be the 4th defender. The others are adaptations.

  51. Meerkat says:

Lee on 29th August 2017 at 3:51 pm

*FYI Meerkat Gerrard was done at Chelsea it has absolutely fuck all to do with love for the club, manager or fans.* Oooh!

    Eh? What do you mean?

Actually I have his autobiography, so I think I understand why he thought about leaving, but decided against it, (or what I choose to believe thanks all the same).

He poo-pood a lot of the bs being touted re his reasons, in the book.
He thought the club weren’t going to extend his contract, or were not prioritising it, so decided to go on his terms.

Once they assured him of their commitment to him, and paid him what he thought he was worth, he signed the extension. He could have gone to Manure, same as Alan Shearer could of, but they both chose their club, over trophy hunting with another club.
Whether you please to believe newspaper talk or not, is up to you. I don’t.

Anyway, this is just about what players deserve. I don’t know of many who don’t get back more than they give. Sanchez doesn’t deserve success IMO, any more than say Giroud, who is far more loyal, neither does Oxlade Chamberlain. They are professional footballers doing a well-paid job. Again, it’s about opinions.

  52. frednerk says:

Last season when ask about new signings Arsene said:

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he won’t
buy more than three players in this
transfer window as it could destabilise the team.

Is this goner be the change then.

  53. frednerk says:

    This season Arsene says:

4 Jun 2017 – Arsene Wenger says there
will be a “maximum of three”
    signings at Arsenal …
He has, however, suggested that it
will be a case of evolution rather than
    revolution at Emirates …
“We have to be clear what we
understand as a big signing. …
    in recent years despite the
    Gunners being more financially stable.

  54. Meerkat says:

Sterling, Aguero and Van Dick would do nicely. Plus one other defender.

Aguero is unsettled at Citeh, whilst Sterling wants to move to Arsenal/London, to increase his World Cup chances.

  55. Adam says:

Fred. Just when we needed revolution he promises evolution. That’s been the cry of the unambitious for years and years. Mind you I doubt anybody takes any notice of what he says anymore. I don’t.

  56. rico says:

I certainly don’t, the man speaks bollox imo…

Meerkat, don’t believe all you read, after all, Gerrard is unlikely to have written the truth about his move. The Liverpool fans would have reacted, just like they threatened, or rather did, when his move was announced. He backtracked because of the goings on…

  57. Le Coq Monster says:

Evening all and thanks Rico…………………………………………………Can I be there when you have to eat your hat ?………………….well at least video it and put on site !…………………………only way Wenger is going is if he gets the sack and Kroenke has sexual feelings for Arsene so unless they have a lovers tiff it`s …………eat the hat ! 🙂

Talking of renewing, I shant renew mine or my sons Red Membership next season and I hope they ask me why……………………..

  58. Adam says:

Fred. For various reasons I managed to take a year off. It seems strangely disconnecting and I miss my Arsenal mates for the social aspect. But, at the moment, it’s looking like a good call I would say. 🙂

  59. Le Coq Monster says:

Just finished listening to the Kevblog !………………………………………so basically we have to get relegated to get rid of Kroenke !…………………….It will hurt, but I`m in ! hahaha…………………………….must be done under Wenger though so we get rid of two birds with one stone !

  60. Meerkat says:

Rico, it would do well for all of us to take gossip with a very large pinch of salt. Who knows the real story behind anything? It’s like Chinese whispers. The times I have believed goss from a good ‘source’, when it turns out to be bs.
The press does what it does to sell papers. C’est la vie.
Tbh, Steve Gerrard was just an example, not a big deal. But our club is being ground down, and although Wenger is now useless, a nervous wreck, I still don’t blame him for the farce that these ‘will they, won’t they’ players are causing. It’s just a sign of the times, I believe. ‘Player power’. And they are taking the piss. The club and fans deserve more.

  61. potter says:

Fred. For various reasons I managed to take a year off. It seems strangely disconnecting and I miss my Arsenal mates for the social aspect. But, at the moment, it’s looking like a good call I would say. ?

Strangely we are not doing the trip this year either. We are trying a season of T.V to see how it goes and yes it does seem the right call at the moment.

  62. Kel says:

Ah ok the burning of the top etc…

It’s getting worrisome still nothing doing on the transfer front other than outs…

    Midtable looms imo.

  63. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Early morning all,

Good solid post rico that certainly addresses the state of The Arsenal.

Unfortunately, for real change to happen it will have to get worse b4 it gets better. That being, it has to get bad enough for the American majority shareholder to sell his stake in the Club to someone who desperately wants to win big trophys. I pulled up short of saying someone with the same ambition as the fans coz there are some Arsenal fans who don’t want change, idiots!!!

Once the new ‘owner’ is in, a plan needs to be implemented that is adhered to from the very top down to the people who clean the Club’s shitters of a night. An independent audit of the Club’s football department would be necessary, then heads must roll. Wenger has to go & the rest will fall like cards.

But people make no mistake about it, The Arsenal is rotten to the core & the symptoms are a manager who has Out stayed his relevance & a majority shareholder who has no idea about football & the mind set of its fan base. But it must get worse b4 it gets better for real change to occur.

  64. Meerkat says:

Yeah, I read that at the time too. However, in his book and in subsequent articles he denies it. He says he wouldn’t feel as he does for the club if he was forced to stay by threats. He couldn’t wait to get back there from his stint in America, and is coaching youth players.
Carragher too, says it was all exaggerated.

However, if anyone can evidence any different……………;-)

  65. Lee says:

Surely he wouldn’t sell any books in Liverpool if he told the truth about what really happened?

Of course he’s going to deny it….

Anyways fuck Gerrard, what business are we going to do to try salvage something from the season? Three bloody games in, that’s embarrassing isn’t it?

Raheem Sterling, no thanks he runs like he’s shat himself or even like a Tyrannosaurus rex!

  66. ScottfromOz says:

Meerkat, time has shown that the media is full of shit, and we all agree, unless what they say suits our argument-I’d say we’ve all been guilty at some point.
For years ive sat back and read people deny things the media have written when it was about a possible Arsenal signing, as they’re full of shit, only to read how we are selling one of our boys because that same media outlet suggested it.
I can not believe for a second Gerrard would stay and give his all under the alleged circumstances.
Let’s give the man some credit for staying at a club he lived, andwhere he was appreciated by fans.
How many of our guys will stay more than 6-8 years?
The irony is so many will abuse those guys while defending others who want out.

  67. potter says:

Obviously there is no definitive evidence otherwise it would not be a subject with so much speculation. So we are left with smoke , mirrors , rumour , but lets say that words like Curran , Gansters , Debts , Brawls, blackmail , affairs have all been put forward , not one of us know for sure but another two words smoke and fire come to mind.

  68. ScottfromOz says:

GG, rotten to the core-spot on.
How to change it is the question, but I doubt anyone has an answer.
Certainly not the people who can make a it happen, at least.
Too many signings are needed right now to give us any hope, but those signings are what we’ve needed for a while now, so for us to hope it’ll happen in a few days is wishful thinking, unfortunately.

  69. frednerk says:

Its sad for all of us potter
we had a big mob, then our sons
    began to come.
I keep my silver thats it.
Tv never helped either and I
live a lot closer than you.

  70. potter says:

Sterling :- Wasn’t he sold up north to get him away from the London gangs he was running with. Or is that just another urban myth.

Not opposed to using Theo as bait for Van Dyke though.

  71. ScottfromOz says:

Have Soton asked for athei to be part of any potential deal, or have we offered him?
If it’s them, it at least shows their interested.

  72. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Scott

I’ve had to endure 37 years in the wilderness, which is of biblical proportions, then just when I’m within touching distance of lifting the holy grail, I’m going to be on the other side of the planet watching a frigging train wreck!!!!

  73. potter says:

Just more speculation Scott , but it’s a quote from The Sun , which is as reliable a train arriving on time in Norfolk.

The newspaper is now reporting today that Arsenal appear to be the new leaders in the race as Southampton are ready to do-business for the £60m centre-back if Walcott is included in any deal

  74. Lee says:

The only chance we have if Wenger lucks into an on-field organiser, someone that bollocks players, someone that is prepared to put their body on the line. When did we last have one of them?

Still find it mystifying that we’re not being linked to CM, our midfield is woeful.

Sell Sanchez to PSG, ask for Rabiot or krychowiak and money….both would help improve our midfield. Le ditherer really can’t dither can he? I mean it’s not like he’s had any time to plan for this is it?? Clueless bell…

  75. Lee says:

“Not opposed to using Theo as bait for Van Dyke though”

Definitely would use Theo but his wages will surely be the stumbling block?

How much did DVD move from Celtic for?

  76. Lee says:

Arsenal have rebuffed all approaches from Man City for Sanchez. #AFC stance remains not for sale – unless huge money + player offered . Ornstein.

  77. ScottfromOz says:

GG, they’re making your trip entertaining, at least lol
    Sad times.
    Very sad.
Lee, honestly, all of our midfielders can play but yes, you’re right that we don’t have midfield organiser, a boss, and that’s the problem.
People keep saying Ramsey, Ozil, Zhaka are shit but these same people have drooled over them at times, so though I can not say it’s bullshit or rubbish, you et my drift.
They’re disorganised and irresponsible-this does not make them shit.
Get a hard head in the middle of the park and that alone would solve a lot of our problems all over the pitch.
As much as you’ll ignore this comment, yes, the fact we don’t have an organiser is ALL in Wenger!!!

  78. micko says:

Wegner’s good like that Scott, seem to remember him going out on a limb when you were last over, who can forget his 1000th game in charge, bet you must treasure that programme lol.

I can’t understand why he gets so much stick.

  79. Meerkat says:

I wouldn’t care how Sterling runs, (a bit girlyish IMO) once he’s scoring goals in an Arsenal shirt. At least he wants to come, that’s worth something.

  80. allezkev says:

Oxlade-Chamberlain has turned down a move to Chelsea after a £40m deal was agreed.
Seems that he wants to join Liverpool so he can play in midfield, but Liverpool won’t match Chelsea’s £40m…

Liverpool will probably sense a bargain and come in with a bid of around £25m

In that case Arsenal should inform Mr Oxlade-Chamberlain that he’ll be training with the U23’s for the remainder of the season and if he’s lucky will get one game a month.

He can kiss the 2018 World Cup goodbye….

Never mind Alex, the next one is only in 2022, when you’ll be 28…

  81. potter says:

Take them to the brink of the window’s end and then pull out leaving them with nothing or if they offer£ 30 million only settle for £ 30 million and £ 1.00.

  82. rico says:

    Morning all..

According to a ‘source’ at the club, well John Cross, Arsene laid into the players on Monday. Anyone who doesn’t share his commitment to club can be sold.

Shame he didn’t tell them that earlier in the summer…

Let’s not bicker among each other guys, things at Arsenal are bad enough…

  83. Lee says:

Rico maybe he disrupts the cozy life that they all have at Arsenal?

I think his goals, assists and work ethic will be hard to replace, even more so as the window has virtually shut! Why not get in there quick with Lemar or sell/swap him with PSG before the Neymar transfer?

As Scott and I alluded to before we’ve been crying out for an organiser at CB and/or at DM…why can’t Wenger see that is beyond me??

There must be options available….but buying from non PL teams you’ve got zero bedding in time as it’s so late in the window. We really don’t act like a big club to we?

  84. Adam says:

Morning Rico. There are divisions from top to bottom at Arsenal right now. I can see the supporters wanting to make their feelings known as things slip further during the season.

  85. Alex says:

    Good morning Rico and all

The Ox can get lost anywhere is not even a think of a treat or loss is just more of a gain.As for the money…..who cares if it is 40M or 20 M. Is Kronke money and if you believe is going to be rinvested the money into the team it will fall on the hand of Le prof.

Le prof even if…if…by any chance if is going to bring a good player rest assured that he will ruin them.

There is no player in that team i like him to stay they are hyped way to much and paid obsessively.

The positive is that Le Prof days are numbered and as Rico said looks he want last till xmas.

  86. rico says:

Possibly Lee and I wouldn’t be surprised.

As you know I agree with big players lacking in the defence/midfield and for a guy who once signed Paddy and Campbell, I just don’t understand why he has neglected both positions for so long..

And no, we don’t act like a big club….

  87. rico says:

Morning Adam. Probably after Bournemouth score their first goal…

How can he get anyone in this late in the day, unless he really does have a cunning plan…

    Hi Alex.

  88. Alex says:

    Lee
I agree with you not to make any deal with LiverFool……
I am afraid Arsenal is run as a corporate not a football club therefore no matter what LeProf is spewing all players are available for sale to the higher bidder no matter who……i guess

  89. Lee says:

Sterling is another over hyped English player with a worse goal scoring ratio than Walcott, whether he wants to play for us or not it’s a no thank you from me….

  90. Adam says:

But, it was perhaps inevitable that it would come to this after he signed that contract. Most on here predicted how wrong things ‘might’ go.

  91. Alex says:

    Rico
The thing you mention of Cross…about Sanchez or the Ox (if relevant) as bad apple siunds to me more of a PR machine .

It is obvious that Arsene or Kronke will not let pass around 100M just like that and leave them for free next season.

Maybe the Liverpooll game it was staged to make them look bad and ultimately put the blame on them and sell them.

  92. Kel says:

All this Ox wanting to play in the middle.. well ya know what son if memory serves me right we did play you there and got thumped by Chelsea I think a few yrs ago as you were fucking terrible ya we prick.

Chelsea or reserves…. now fuck off..

Alexis I’m gutted to lose, but if you’re not committed do one.

Sterling isn’t a bad player at all I remember him Doing a number on us a few times, I’ll take the swap deal.

Mustafi 5m loan fee with 23m next summer… nah forget inter not at that price now fuck off he stays imo.

  93. Lee says:

Maybe the Liverpooll game it was staged to make them look bad and ultimately put the blame on them and sell them.

Alex you could be onto something mate!

  94. Lee says:

Wengernomics doesn’t seem to be working at the moment does it? Pay the apex for players sell them below their worth….other teams seem to do a lot better on selling their players.

  95. Adam says:

If we were a successful and feared club who challenged for the big trophies then we’d get better prices, but until that happens most of our players are associated with failure. Like Wenger has become.

  96. ScottfromOz says:

    Sell Alexis.
    Sell Ox.
Get either Sterling or Aguero in (preferably Aguero).
Get Van Diik from Soton, and let them take Theo if they want him.
Get the biggest, ugliest and crankiest DM in world football.
We’d still come out with a net spend of bugger all, we’d have sold a few players who want out, and addressed our biggest issues- IM TALKING ON THE PITCH HAHAHAHAHA
    it really isn’t that hard.
    Morning guys.

  97. Kel says:

Lee for a man who has prided himself on making money we don’t half get short changed do we…

Compare that to spurs if they played their cards right they could clear their debts with the sale of about 5 players lol…

  98. Alex says:

    Lee
    Lool was just saying
    But

As for that crap Ox thiking he can play in midfield …he was dispossed and lost the ball as twice as Xaka.
Countless time even on the wing easily loose the ball. But in his eyes is the fantastic dribbler.Maybe in the England squad. He is just an upgrade on Feo

  99. Lee says:

    Kel it’s embarrassing isn’t it?
Aguero, Mahrez,Bastard of a DM and Dick van Dyke would be fucking marvellous and potentially doable even at this late stage?!?!

  100. ScottfromOz says:

Ox won’t ever make it at a decent club as a CM, no matter how many positive vibes his old man sends out.

  101. Adam says:

Yes but what will Wenger do with these players? For me, he is the key to our future and can start us on the road to success by leaving and enjoying his millions of £’s doing what he wants. The club can then move on.

  102. gnarleygeorge9 says:

“Maybe the Liverpooll game it was staged to make them look bad and ultimately put the blame on them and sell them.”

I said that of sorts on Tuesday, but obviously no one ever reads my comments. It’s better to sacrifice 3 points than a whole season.

Evening all, & bye. There is no point in saying anything anymore

  103. Lee says:

The dressing room are pissed off with Sanchez, could that be PR spin to save face selling him in this window?

    Just a thought…..

    My cynicism comes from Brudder.

  104. ScottfromOz says:

Lee, in all honesty, Alexis can’t tell players to fuck off and not expect a backlash, especially when he ridicules them for a poor pass after he has turned the ball over directly to the opposition half a dozen times before that in the same game.
Maybe some of them to be told off, I’m positive they do, but not from someone making more errors than anyone else.
We need a hard head, no nonsense midfielder who gets the job done with a minimum of fuss, and that’ll allow the showponies to do their thing.
We need someone not afraid to tell Ozil, Ramsey and even Alexis what’s what.
GG, you’re just dirty the Swans are going so well 🙂 🙂 🙂

  105. ScottfromOz says:

We need Arsene to leave to get rid of Stan.
We need Stan to go so the club can thrive.
However, is there anyone at the club who can lead us to the future?
    Is Ivan capable?
He’s shown nothing to suggest he is, imo, but then, there are plenty of factors at play that may hold him back from doing so.
Is he a weakling, happy to collect a massive salary, or is he patient, knowing his time will come?
We’d all better hope its option B, because if and when Arsene goes, it will be all on Ivan, and if he fails, the problems we have now will be nothing compared to what could potentially happen.

  106. Lee says:

Why can’t another manager come in and do a better job than Wenger has been doing…given all the tools that Stan affords Wenger? So for me give another manager a chance under the current parameters…. that’s my standpoint, well at the moment. ?

  107. Le Coq Monster says:

Although we all seem to want Kroenke out I too agree now that it must start with Wenger going as soon as possible although Im` afraid Rico will be eating her hat !…………………………..his decissions are getting stranger and stranger……………… although Perez and Mustafi may stay, it`s unbelievable that they were bought in the first place if Wenger already wants to take a hit on them, what a waste of money from a business point of view and yes I would take Sterlling as part of a deal for Alexis, would love to keep Alexis, but that was only when I thought we were going to win the EPL this season and that now after 3 games is a deluded fantasy !………………….teamss know we will roll over like a puppy and show our soft underbelly……………………..we need evil bastards playing for us, the sort who would rob their own grannies of their life savings and spend it on sex drugs and rock and roll ! etc etc etc…………………………………right !……off to the old peoples home !

  108. ScottfromOz says:

As long as we break up the Arsene/Stan combination, it’s beneficial to the club.
I say Arsene leaving will show us it’s a lot tougher gig than people think, but I could well be wrong.
I’m not saying Arsene has been good the last few years, just that it’s not as easy as we think.
If Stan left tomorrow, Arsene would not be far behind, imo.
Break that partnership up, and we will move forward.

  109. Wavy says:

Has the cleaner found an empty office to clean this morning?
So, he hasn’t cleared his desk yet. Shame on him!

Wenger is the puppet of Kronke, not the other way round. Kronke determines how much cash he wants left in the club so that when he hits near financial ruin in the states with his other franchises he will come to the bank of Arsenal ans seize all its assets. Imo!

Perhaps our books need a rather more microscopic look at them. It may be that there is a US conduit in place and the removal of our cash has found a way to transfer to the states already. If this is not the case why the fcuk has Wenger refused to spend the club’s cash on proper top, top players?

Morning all. Drizzling here, so unbelievably British!

  110. ScottfromOz says:

    LC,
How Bellerin played instead of Kolasinac is something that just escapes any logical explaination.
This isn’t a dig at Alexis, but I believe the guy was thrown under the bus on the weekend.
Hadn’t played for nearly 2 months so why throw him in?

  111. potter says:

Perhaps our books need a rather more microscopic look at them. It may be that there is a US conduit in place and the removal of our cash has found a way to transfer to the states already. If this is not the case why the fcuk has Wenger refused to spend the club’s cash on proper top, top players?

Could that be why Usmanov is kept out of the board room ? Perhaps he might be inclined to question some of the dealings

  112. Wavy says:

Gibbs is a gone gooner. He’s taken the M1 M6 route to WBA just as Don Howe did, in reverse, 40 years ago. Good luck to him. Sadly he was another of project youth that ultimately failed. Probably due to piss poor coaching. Personally I wish him well.

  113. Wavy says:

Potter you said that, “there was something rotten in the state of Arsenal,” and I wholeheartedly agree. If we are looking for a conspiracy story, your suggestion that Usminov is barred from the board room because he would see these dodgy old men at work and have grounds to grass them up, may have some traction. For sure something is wrong. I smell a “rat, a rat,” (also from Hamlet, as he kills Polonius, ” the good old man.”) sound familiar?

  114. potter says:

Wish him luck , I had high hopes for the group of Gibbs , Wilshere , Lansbury etc. Sadly one by one they have faltered as their talents never developed sufficiently. Coaching ? probably. but also a lack of competitive quality football at the transition age between youth and senior stages didn’t help

  115. Le Coq Monster says:

Arsenal ins and outs so far with less than 36 hours until window closes !………………

    IN

    Kieran Gibbs – undisclosed ( £7M ?)

And I thought this was a window when Wenger would make a statement !……………………little did I know it would be a bank statement showing a profit if and when Ox goes………………………

  116. Le Coq Monster says:

IMO Gibbs was not good enough……….shit if I`m honest !………………………………..no doubt he will score the winner against us now I`ve said that ! hahaha

  117. Le Coq Monster says:

Will Ox be as gracious ?……………………….

Gibbs………………”It has been an amazing journey to play for my childhood club since I was 14. I would like to thank Arsene Wenger for giving me the chance to start my career and fulfil a dream!

“Thank you to all the fans, the Arsenal staff and especially my teammates who have been there during the special moments and have helped me through some tough times.

“Now it’s time for the next chapter with West Bromwich Albion and I can’t wait to get started with the boys!”

  118. Meerkat says:

    Good moaning all.
The golden rule is, you don’t play wantaways unless you want morale to fall through the floor. The pair of them should have been sold early in the window (or even before unofficially) and their replacements lined up. When a player wants to leave say, ‘OK son, you can go but we want the best price for you and we don’t want to pay over the odds for your replacement, so please keep mum while we line him up and do your best for us meantime, because it will make you finding a club easier; and no hard feelings, we are sorry to lose you’.

If a player wants to leave, stay in control and turn it to your advantage financially,
so you can buy a top, top replacement. Your scouts should always have replacements on their radar.

Is that what happens at Arsenal? No, but why? Once again we have one more day to scramble around for bargain basements, whilst stuck with loads of deadwood.

I’ve just heard that it was us who were going to pay a cash extra for Sterling, not them give us him plus cash!

I wish it could be true that we were so confident that we could throw a game and the three points, but looking at le prof shaking like a leaf when drinking his water on the bench, I find it hard to believe.
What will be the excuse for the next loss?

  119. ScottfromOz says:

Meerkat, the excuses have worn well and truly thin, now.
I’ll never know why those guys were played.
Nothing anyone said would make it sit right with me.

  120. Le Coq Monster says:

I`m off to beach with Daughters new puppy …………………………………….if I see any Spuds I will kick sand in their faces !

  121. potter says:

Shit is too strong , underdeveloped probably. Along with a whole list of coaching failures , instead of looking at a player and saying Gibbs is a winger so lets make him a left back or Bendner is a centre forward so lets play him on the wing the list is endless of players not being coached in their correct positions and failing to kick on.

  122. frednerk says:

    Afternoon Rico and All

Bit baffled by a lot on here to day
    regarding getting players in.
Why all of a sudden is that goner
change what we have all seen.

    I want change not appeasement.

  123. Lee says:

There are Rumours circulating that Usmanov is trying to sell his shares to a Middle Eastern investor in order to focus on Everton…

  124. Meerkat says:

Sad that it didn’t work out for Kieron, it will be a good move for him though imo.

I can see us being stuck with all the wantaways and the deadwood. Imagine the atmosphere if Sanchez, Perez, Mustafi, Ox, Wheelchair and Ozil are in the dressing room all season, with no new decent signings other than the freebie and Lacazette.
    16th place beckons.

  125. Le Coq Monster says:

Nope !………………no Spuds in Bude !………..and I had my best kick sand in the face Arsenal flip flops on !……………………………….did see a little 7/8 year old girl with an Arsenal shirt on trying to cross a busy road so I stopped and let her cross then asked her if we`d bought anyone and she replied……………” Uncle Arsene has told me not to talk to strangers ………especially about our potential transfer dealing`s and of course we have to get rid of more deadwood, but at the ,moment our bank balance is looking exceedingly good which will please our 60%+ owner Mr Kroenke !”

  126. Le Coq Monster says:

God forbid he sold his shares to Kroenke !…………………………….I would quit end of !

  127. Le Coq Monster says:

West Brom in Krychowiak talks !

Renato Sanches to Swansea is back on !

Even the likes of the above two are more enterprising and imaginative than us ……………………sorry…..Wenger !………………………………….30 hours left !…………………………………Kim Kalstrom anyone ?

  128. Lee says:

Do you honestly expect anything different? This team is an experiment by a mad professor and has been for over a decade!

  129. Lee says:

“Lee, that’s not good news re Usmanov, unless whoever he sells to plans to buy out Kroenke..”

Allegedly it’s Brudder Kev, so I’m reliably informed!

  130. Lee says:

Bradster can you blame any of them? I certainly don’t… it’s a very long list of players that have done so, they all surely can’t be rats?

  131. Lee says:

Has been for ages mate….30 hours of the window left and the silence coming from the club is deafening!!

Ooh to be a fucking Gooner!

  132. Le Coq Monster says:

Shocking when we only bought Cech one summer window, is this a worse one considering the promises and the money we have gathering dust ?………………………………………………….think about it !……………………..there is only one person be it a fan or individual attached to the club who doesn`t give a flying fcuk about our current situation………………………………………Kroenke !………………………………..every fan is hurting, players, Wenger, employees, anyone who cares about Arsenal is hurting………………………………..Kroenke is happy how we are run and how we earn !………………………….no one else is happy !

  133. Wavy says:

when does the asset stripping begin? I’m ready with a warrant !
Where’s the cash? What is it doing? Earning interest? Paying off loans?
    Or
Will we find in Kronke vaults?

    It’s all most mysterious……!

  134. Le Coq Monster says:

I was hoping for Herb to make a comment on the current situation !…………………….. him and Lee will be like having both barrels cocked and ready to aim ! hahaha

  135. Le Coq Monster says:

Rumour Bindippers have agreed fee for OX in the last hour……………………….we are now more cash rich than before the window started…..well done Bank of Arsene !………………..Kroenke`s syrup has just come over his face !………………………..best run and most self sufficient club on the planet, we should be proud !

  136. Bradster says:

I don’t think Kroenke would feel then need for more shares. He already has full control and excludes Usmanov

  137. Kk says:

We are dealing with the bindippers now?? How low can it gets!?? …ffs..
Hope there is an extra pound put in there on the deal.

If I been positive I would’ve thought the board & IG refusing to let the mad professor waste any more pennies in the transfer window ..
    One can only hope!

  138. rico says:

Kk, Ox holds all the cards though, it’s his choice and we don’t want to lose £30+ million, what choice is there..

It’s the clubs fault it’s what it is…

  139. Kk says:

I get you rico. .however if it was me I would have left him rot with the under 23..
Saying that he was badly mismanged by wenger and his useless coaches. .He had huge prospect when he arrived at arsenal.
I remember the infamous united game when he was the best player on the pitch only for wenger to substitute him with the then captain rvp showing his horror and disblieve about the decision. .
Needless to say we lost the game 2/1.

We later found out the decision to substitute the ox before the 70 mins was to save few quids paid to the saints

    Well……

  140. Lee says:

KK you’ll be here all night if want to list Wenger’s terrible decisions, don’t do it to yourself!! ?

  141. Bradster says:

At least an exciting day tomorrow. Could be bye bye Sanchez, Mustafi and Ozil. Maybe players in. Maybe all stay and no one in.

  142. Kk says:

Lool Lee …it’s not arsene’s fault though. .all those terrible decisions were made by Stan from his ranch in Texas via skype apperently ?

I am reading now we are interested in resigning Kim broken back kullastrom. .
    Only in arsen”s arsenal eh!?

  143. Le Coq Monster says:

Unless we get someone in the next 27 hours me and Kev will be proved right……………..we both said weeks ago that our business was done !…………….should have had money on it !………………………..think Ornstein was listening to me and Kev ! hahaha

What a fcuking shambles run club for us fans…………………………but hey !…………………..Kroenke is loving Wenger even more !

  144. Bob John says:

Ornstein just tweeted that there is no money for transfers! You really couldn’t make this shit up! Highest ticket prices, massive sponsorship deals, profit on transfers this window, TV money. Where has it all gone? Rumours that Kroenke has taken money out to help fund LA Rams new stadium

  145. Obi says:

At this point just blow the entire thing up…. it doesn’t matter whom the players are as long as Wenger remains the manager…..

  146. Alex says:

    My next wish

Give Sotton Feo plus 30M and bring VV the defender

Sell Sanchez 40M plus loan us Da Silva

    How sweet will be

  147. Le Coq Monster says:

What great news that would be Bob, if Kroenke took money out of the club to finance LA Rams !……………………….can anyone on here calculate the size of turd that would hit the fan if that were true ! hahaha

I see one tweet somewhere that Kroenke is trying to get a $1B loan to finance the LA stadium and all the stubborn cnut has to do is sell his shares to Uzzy and he could buid the stadium for peanuts !………………….what a cucking funt !

  148. Le Coq Monster says:

One good thing to come out of Ox and Gibbs leaving is we`re never going to get the wrong player sent off again !…………………..and will laugh my arse off when Pulis plays Ox at LWB !

  149. ScottfromOz says:

    Morning all.
LC, no manager with half a brain would play OX at CM.
Plenty of news coming from the club, but none of it is good.
Why the hell would Arsene have stayed to facilitate Stan milking the place of cash?
If he knew Stans intentions-assuming the rumour is true-they both ought to be shot.

  150. allezkev says:

    £35m + £5m add-ons…

If Klopp turns him into a top player then Wenger will look a complete dickhead.

But I’ll be surprised if Klopp can get him to perform regularly at the level I’m hearing on the radio. Off course all the professional scousers arevon the airwaves telling us that AOC is a world beater.

Well maybe in their stupid world he is the next Stevie G. But he’s never convinced me and I can’t say that I’m terribly upset that he’s been sold I just didn’t want to sell anyone to those northern gits..

    JM… Arsenal relegated…!
    Are you sure?

  151. ScottfromOz says:

There is more chance of us buying Messi than there is being relegated lol
Kev, I’m with you-Ox is a good footballer, but nowhere near as good as his old man thinks.
Never will be, no matter who manages him, imo.

  152. Oboateng107@yahoo.com says:

Fellas I said it months ago that Stan will use Arsenal to finance or as collateral for the Rams stadium given the rules that are in place by the NFL board of governors for borrowing…… am quite sure AW knew Stan’s intentions……

  153. micko says:

I’m disappointed to see him leave meself, he looked like he was finally coming into his own but truth is he never hit the dizzy heights.

Arsene didn’t help, destroyed his confidence, the Ox must have been the most subbed player in the history of our club.

The whole thing is farcical, they’re lining up to get outta the club !

  154. allezkev says:

JM there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever in my mind.

If you think that this present squad of players will be or could be relegated then I don’t know what you guys are smoking over there?!

Wenger will be out of the door by Christmas at the rate he’s going, once he’s left the fans will rally around and we’ll be fine.

  155. potter says:

If the financing of the Rams stadium rumours are true it won’t make a blind bit of difference who sits in the dug out. Our club is being systematically run down . We are collecting money again .It’s what we’re good at.

  156. ScottfromOz says:

Potter, I truly do hope I’ve been wrong all this time and it really is Arsene that’s the real problem, but as you say, we are well and truly fucked if I’ve been right and Stan is at the core of the problems.
We were short on quality already, and needed to really outspend those clubs above us, but we haven’t even tried to keep pace with them, so how can we expect to suddenly improve and get past them?
Surely, nobody really thinks Arsene likes losing.
He live and breathes Arsenal-I’m not saying he’s done things right, but I still believe he’s tried his best and his intentions were good.
Stan, on the other hand, could not give a rats arse about the club, its fans, the history etc etc etc
Those who brought him to the club ought to be hung for treason.
There is one very simple way to find out-Arsene leaves.
If nothing else, it will prove to us all where the really issues lay, and at least fans could form a united front to protest and hopefully force change because as it stands, we remain divided.

  157. Kk says:

Scott, I really get what you mean and I don’t think there is a single fan who thinks Stan is anything but a parasite leech who is sucking the heart and soul of AFC.

Yet there are hundred things wenger as a manager and as the man who controls every aspect in the club especially players recruitment and development, could have and should have done better. .all his experiments, British core, project youth, vision, philosophy or whatever you want to call it, didn’t diliver anything near to what he has promised .

So to me it’s completely different debate to what the American sucker alleged intentions.

And If wenger knows about stan intention and agrees to play along and lie to the fans then he is just as guilty and doesn’t deserve any respect imo

    Night gooners

  158. Le Coq Monster says:

Maybe Ox will flourish under Klopp`s high pressing tactics…you know the one`s which always make Wenger`s tactics look pre-historic !.

Maybe Wenger sees Reiss Nelson as the Ox replacement, just as skillfull but a better finisher !

Cant understand the Ornstein link I put up saying we have no money available !……………………………………..so how were we supposed to buy Lemar before all this shit ?…………………………we`ve more money before the window started…………..more money (aprox` £25M) in all the dealings so far……………………players out on loan sold etc` surely has to be more saving in wages compared to Lacazette and Kolasinacs wages………just look at the list I copied somewhere above…18 Out………2 In……………………………£220M from EPL in last two seasons……………over £200M in bank………………………….£25M made so far in TW………………………….doesn`t add up to us being broke !………………………….wtf going on ?

    https://www.balls.ie/football/details-stan-kroenkes-lavish-new-nfl-stadium-will-enrage-arsenal-fans-372535

  159. Le Coq Monster says:

Right I`m off and when I wake up it will be Transfer Deadline Day !…………………exciting for eveyone but us !………………………….still waiting for the other two players Wenger said he would buy…………………….Kolasinac doesn`t count as he was free !.

  160. ScottfromOz says:

    Hahaha
    Sorry, LC-I couldn’t open yours 🙂
KK, I never said Arsene hasn’t done thousands of things wrong, just that, imo, he believed he was doing the right thing.

  161. potter says:

Is it that Arsene loves the club or that in so many loveless marriages neither party can imagine being apart. He can’t walk away and the club are too complacent to look elsewhere.

  162. Meerkat says:

One would have to be an Arsenal fan, to know the true meaning of losing in that way to Liverpool. When Stan read the newspaper and saw we lost 4-0, it wouldn’t even have registered with him let alone matter. He wouldn’t even have watched it on TV, because he doesn’t give a shit about the club. He doesn’t even like ‘soccer’!!
He is asset stripping like many a capitalist does to businesses they have bought, and can do so legally because the twats that sold to him knew what they were doing and they didn’t give a shit about Arsenal either.

Unless there are any hitmen amongst the ranks of supporters, or unless we can raise the money to buy one, we are fucked basically. Even then, whomever inherits his wealth and shares, if we have him assassinated, will probably be just as bad.

Seriously folks we are stuffed good and proper. If the board are refusing to sanction any more spending, then Wenger should resign. If he doesn’t and it is true about the money situation, he will deserve everything fans throw at him. He’s possibly the highest paid manager in football, and if he can’t do his job, he should have the decency to walk. Then he could openly tell it like it is with the owner and board.
That loss and the way we lost at Anfield hurt him, but if he knows that is how it’s going to be, he should come out and tell us why. Not leave it to the media to second guess him.

When the demo’s and abuse start, I hope it is directed mainly at the Board, but Wenger will deserve his share of the blame.

  163. Wavy says:

I hope, when I wake up in the morning, that all that has occurred turns out to be a nightmare and the world of Arsenal resumes on an upward spiral.
I know it won’t, in reality the club is being used as a cash cow for the owners other futile projects. So the nightmare will continue. And, I would add, I think Wenger is complicit in what ever scam is going on. One of the reasons he has not been relieved of his duties.
    The soap opera continues.
    Episode tomorrow???

  164. Meerkat says:

Well he won’t be sacked Wavy, he would have to walk of his own accord. Kroenke wouldn’t want to pay £4/5 million in compensation, he’s only just been given a new two year contract (as if we could forget).

I can’t believe he would intentionally rip the club off. He is just deluded, in thinking he is capable of rallying this squad of players.
Blimey, he doesn’t need the money, and I would have thought his reputation would be more important to him at his age. His ‘legacy’ at the club.

I agree it’s turned from just being about a poor manager, it’s far worse than just that, into a living nightmare for fans.
It’s heartbreaking really for those fans who have spent their lives devoted to the club. If the rumours are true about Kroenke taking money from the club, leaving the transfer coffer empty, the only way is down.
I’m beginning to realise how Leeds Utd fans must have felt when their club went down the pan.

  165. ScottfromOz says:

Potter, Meerkat and Wavy, 3 damn fine posts.
I’ll Never try to eliminate Wenger from criticism as he’s entitled to receive plenty, but I’m glad people are firing up about Stan.
The cancer of the club, imo.
He’s using Arsene, and for whatever reason, Arsene is blind to the fact.

  166. ScottfromOz says:

Fuck me, that’s one hell of a clip, Kev!!
It says everything we need to know about Stan and how he goes about business, and hopefully outs to rest the question of what our biggest problem is.
Arsene leaves tomorrow, we still have a Stan but I dare say he’d be lost!!
What an absolute C**t of a man he is.
    Money-that’s all he’s about.

  167. ScottfromOz says:

If failure meant he could make money by moving the Arsenal, he’d have sacked Wenger and done everything he can to ensure we failed.
How the hell did we end up with this scumbag as owner?

  168. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Me Monday

“Arsene Wenger has got what he wants. He’s conned Arsenal supporters yet again. He has created a get out of jail clause re Alexis by playing him in a starting team that he had players out of position & new signings on the bench, knowing The Arse would get spanked, so that he can use the excuse he has to sell Alexis coz he has no option with Alexis’s demands & mind set for the team. Arsene Wenger is a survivor & will do it again. Arsene Wenger has probably decided its better to sacrifice 3 points than a whole season, when it comes to his ego. He is a bullshit artist, but the bottom line is he is a survivor!”

Of course no one reads/takes notice (apart from S2H & rico) of this experienced footie follower. gnarley knows, you know!!!!!

Herald Sun is comparing the Australian cricket team to tottenham. The back page reads

    Bangas 1

I guess we’ll just let your MCC boogie on through this Summer @ this rate.

2nite our Socceroos can qualify for Russia 2018.

    Adios

  169. Adam says:

Morning Rico. This transfer window has the distinct flavour of deja-vu about it to me. The Arsenal sites will likely grow more vociferous as the day goes on, culminating in mass apoplexy as the window slams shut. Blame will be apportioned, old quotes re-hashed and unpleasantness will almost certainly reign, fed by everybody from journalists to clairvoyant bloggers. Yet, somehow, it has to be this way for any meaningful change to come about – perhaps.

  170. Lee says:

Chile take Paraguay in the World Cup qualifiers on 31 August and the Gunners forward is currently on international duty with the national team. Pizzi has denied speculation suggesting Sanchez has requested to leave the training camp to sort out his future.

“No. It’s absolutely false. That permission never existed. Sometimes players request authorisation for some things and sometimes we grant them and other times we don’t,” Pizzi explained, as quoted by emol.

“I’m against rigid decisions, each case is different. We consider the individual situation of each player regarding many variables. But we always take into account that we are in a national team camp. He is very, very good. He is happy.

“Until the deadline for transfers is closed, it’s difficult to elucidate Alexis’ future. In any of the possible options that are being handled, his future is very good. Then there is no reason for him to be dissatisfied or annoyed.”

  171. Lee says:

Agree Brudder, Cross or Ornstein weren’t they saying there was a £150m war chest and Wenger was going to spend it? Now they’ve done a massive U turn… the bollocks these twats spout is ridiculous.

    Kalou anyone? ?

  172. Adam says:

Brudder. Being a football journalist is certainly empowering, but human nature is stronger than intellect as we see every day we read their utterings followed by the responses they drive and crave on the Arsenal websites. Everything in today’s football is results-led. At the moment ours are bad and things have been heading gently downhill for about a decade I reckon. Butnow that has become an unavoidable fact, those that supported Wenger are now against him. It’s understandable and the way of the footballing world. Every season that he has failed to act decisively we have dropped behind a little more and this has mounted up to the torrential shitstorm that we are now witnessing. It’s been coming for a long time as you well know. Perhaps his emotions have ruled his head? Who knows? But the ingredients for the Arsenal Doomsday Scenario are gathering and I cannot see a happy outcome for him. Or us, in the short term anyway.

  173. Adam says:

One would think so Rico. 🙂
After Wenger’s decisions recently I can’t see that more players are going to do much. There’s a circle of underachievement surrounding the club that needs to be broken and that’s the board’s job. But, when the board is split, all bets are off.

  174. rico says:

Adam, I guess the hope would be that any player he does sign won’t have already bought into his ways, so they might improve us. For a few weeks anyway.. ?

Even those on the board who are in support of Wenger will eventually change their mind surely?

  175. Le Coq Monster says:

Please please please…you can vehemently abuse Wenger and Kroenke all you like, but dissing Ornstein is blasphemy !………………………………morning all 🙂

I keep saying it………..it needs to get excrutiatingly worse before it gets better !……………………………how happy will I be if we beat mighty Bournemouth in our next game ?……………not even a murmur in my groin, yet if we lose to them, the feeling of hate for the helmsmen of Arsenal will reach such a boiling point that my cryogenic underpants will melt and god help any women within a hundred miles !……………………….I think West Berkshire is safe ! hahaha

  176. Lee says:

Apparently Mustafi staying against his wishes, Ox no replacement planned and Sanchez will only leave if a replacement is part of the deal…

Fucking hell what terrible window this is…. who’d of thunk it??

  177. frednerk says:

    Morning Rico and All

When the the mickey mousers signed
Salah I thought that was it for Ox.
He must be set up for C/mid surely.

  178. Adam says:

There’s the conundrum Rico, but it’s full of nuance, from the outside at least. What, exactly was the reason, that board members who supported the new contract, decided to do so? We don’t know and yet there will be no end of people with an answer. Why, if there is no money as that dick Ornstein now says, would Wenger agree to a new contract? Again, there will soon be no shortage of opinion on that either. When things don’t make sense we need someone to blame. Wenger knows this and probably has a pretty strong feeling that he is going to cop it. Yet he signs a new contract? Go figure, because I can’t. 🙂

  179. Joaquim Moreira says:

    I’m not exciting
We were not focus in Yarolenko? He goes to Dortmund quickly…
Why we not fight for Adrien Silva ? Leicester try him

  180. Malaga gooner says:

    Morning Rico and all

Reading on another site where the info is pretty good, that Draxler will sign today

  181. Le Coq Monster says:

Blasphemy will see you on the naughty step Adam ! 😆

Cant believe this TW, we really are a laughing stock, but I cant wait to read the inevitable abuse waiting at the starting line when the window closes……………it will be of biblical proportions…………………..Wenger needs to build an Ark for what is going to rain down on him !

  182. rico says:

Adam, me neither, none of it makes any sense. An ambitious man would not stay if there was no money available but then I think that’s bollox anyway. Of course there’s money, and plenty of it I’d say…

But the old buffoon won’t spend it. Not that if he did would make a whole lot of difference…

    Morning Mg..

Jm, I think you know the answer to your own question.

People may laugh at the suggestion of relegation but I don’t think we’ll be far off if the board doesn’t act before then..

  183. Le Coq Monster says:

Right I`m off to do a 1000 ab workout in the time it takes Wenger to do his zip up !………………………..Kroenkes moustache is always the problem ! hahaha

  184. allezkev says:

Apparently, on June 1st, Ornstein claimed that his sources told him that Arsenal were going to invest upwards of £150m in transfers this summer…..
