Invinsibles back together again. The dream is over for one Arsenal fan….

Morning all.

Young Brooklyn Beckham is on his way out of Arsenal at the end of the season. Reports suggest that the coaching staff believe he’s a very good player but others at the club in the same age group are more advanced in their career.

His two younger brothers Romero and Cruz will carry on in attempt to have a big future with us although both are still very young. Must be a really sad time for Brooklyn who is a huge Arsenal fan – perhaps he still has a bit of time left in this season to convince the club to change their mind.

From Arsenal fan to a Totts fan and Sky Sports Pundit – Jamie Redknapp.

The delightful Richard Keys has spilled the beans about Redknapp:

I lost count of the times I had to calm him during the many occasions I worked with him.

There’s a guy at Arsenal can thank his lucky stars there was glass between him and Redknapp the night of the 4-4 v Spurs at the Emirates.

Jamie lost the plot completely. He wanted to fight him. It was the last time we let him work on a game that one of his Dad’s teams was playing in.

He would often get too close to individuals he liked, or not, and couldn’t offer objective opinions.

I wonder if all that was purely about his Dad being the manager or was it more to do with the team we were playing, after all, he was once a Totts man and listening to him these days on Sky Sports, his bias against us is clear to all. Him and that other ex Liverpool pundit, neither seem to have a neutral head on their shoulders when it comes to ‘talking’ about Arsenal. Perhaps that’s why Gary Neville is so highly thought of as a pundit, he’s honest, constructive and clearly knows what he’s talking about and he even gives his old club a hard time. Mind you, they deserve it.

I sure hope he covers our Champions League fixture on Sky Sports tomorrow night, along with Thierry Henry of course…..

Awesome.....
Awesome…..

Finally, Robert Pires, Jens Lehmann, Martin Keown, Ray Parlour, Lauren and Sol Campbell have all got together for a documentary about how Arsene Wenger’s record breaking side achieved footballing immortality and became The Invincibles back in 2004. Sky Sports 1 are showing the programme at 10.15 tomorrow night, just after we’ve battered Monaco hopefully….

That’s it for today, have a good one…

A very good player but others are more advanced.

It means that the line is very fine when it comes to making it to the top.

If he is a very good player than he will make it one day…..a bit later but he will.

Mike Riley and the PGMOL in remake of the Italian Job :-

The Premier League delegate overseeing Martin Atkinson’s performance during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley believes the referee got all the major decisions correct, reports The Sun.

A very interesting Post, Rico, thanks for that.

I liked your pun(?) re the disappearance of Brooklyn Beckham from the ranks of our youth team (the invisible) by running it with the other topic regarding the programme on ‘The Invincibles’ and producing the Post headline ‘The Invinsibles’. 🙂

Mind you, if Arsene wanted to keep the younger siblings, who are both believed to be very good at 10 and 12 y.o, (bit like Jack W) then it is almost definitely going to see them move elsewhere.

I think the Arsenal were trying to let B Beckham down gently when they said; [Brooklyn is] – ‘A very good player but others are more advanced.

That means he was bottom of the class, I suppose.

With multi-millionaire parents that must have been disappointing for him, but not disastrous, but for all the other kids hoping to make it, the words ‘sorry, we have to let you go’ must be crushing. 🙁

Years ago at a local league rep game a young David Beckaham was on display. The pitch was brim full of scouts all there to look at the lad. The ‘spurs’ scout watched him play and reported back to his club that the ‘boy wasn’t worth. A w***!”
As they say all the rest is history. The manure scout was full of praise and adulation and off he went to Manchester rather than sticking around his local area. I mean how can Chingford ever compare to the city of Manchester??
Brooklyn going down the same avenue?
Will we regret it later on? Time will tell, but if they have sacked him because he is under weight or small or physically not as well developed as his peers then we may have made a massive error of judgement. If, however, he has been sacked because he just ain’t good enough, then fair enough!
If he is to become a pro footballer then good luck to him. If he thinks he will be as good as his dad then I think he may be disappointed, but I hope he has a decent career. It’s not easy following in the footsteps of a famous parent, you always seem to be in their shadow, I think.

    Morning all, just,

I don’t know the answer! The old saying, “if you’re good enough you’re old enough,” is never far off the mark.
The world is littered with ‘nearly’ footballers. Some get over the disappointment of not making it and just get on with their lives, some don’t, like Lou Macari’s son who saw himself as a failure because he wasn’t good enough to play in the EPL and comitted suicide as a result. Horrifying!
Or Wrighty who wasn’t spotted until he was 20. He had a highly successful career though, didn’t he?
I have no answers to who, what, when, or how, it is just a shame when a youngster gets thrown back, no matter how rich his parents are!!

Wenger has to do some very careful managing and rotating of his resources over the next 13 days, starting tomorrow with the Monaco tie.

Closely followed by Everton (h), QPR (a) and ManUre (a) FAC on the 9th March…

With the exception of the goalkeeper, I’d like to see our strongest XI possible up at Old Karsey…
Not only is the FACup our best chance of success, it would also be a massive psychological boost to everyone connected to Arsenal FC, to see us go up there and beat those bastards…

I think/hope, with a little bit of imagination (yes Arsene, that’s you I’m talking about) and with some intelligent use of his squad, with Wilshere, AOC and Ramsey coming back, that we can still get 6 points from Everton and QPR, whilst resting players…

Who knows, even Diaby might be involved?

  8. allezkev says:

You know, I might be tempting fate, but I sense that our players are looking fitter, more conditioned and suffer fewer niggling injuries than recent times…

    Forsyth isn’t a magician.
And it’s probably taken him time to change things and change people’s ideas of doing things at the club, but I do sense an improvement in that area…

  9. Wath says:

Train get fit get strong and rest… in previous seasons Jack would of been thrown in and played 90mins already…!

Think your right Kev seems Forsythe def having an influence…! Lets hope it pays dividends in the future as well and our injury list improves further..!

Don’t take the piss with Diaby though…! It’s not may yet mate… one game wonder and all…! 😉

  10. allezkev says:

The bulking up of Ozil is an obvious improvement, but Forsyth has had time to work with and on Giroud, we can see the improvement in him…

He’s even a bit quicker around the pitch…!

  11. Wavy says:

Kevin, the old Abou was a character from an Ozzie programme about simple outback folk called “Bony” and he was in most episodes or referred to at least!
    Abou, the boomerang!!
As for conditioning our players, sounds like what you are supposed to do with barrels of beer! I digress. We can afford to give injured players longer holidays because we have a huge squad of players to choose from. Two seasons ago our subs bench was bare! We had no players. Squads improvemed in every sense now?
Giroud is quicker over the ground now for tow reasons, a. He has been chased by too many cuckolded ex lovers in hotel corridors! And b. His shorts are staying up and not dropping below his knees!
Yes you are right the players are fitter in general, except, Ramsey! The old Abou is just a walking medical exemplar for all thing ‘broken’. I feel very sorry for him and his lost career.

  12. rico says:

    Afternoon all..

Good points re Jack, he’s either being wrapped in cotton wool as he returns, or Arsene just doesn’t know where to squeeze him in…

  13. Wavy says:

Have you not heard the Charlie Drake song, “my boomerang won’t come back”?
In the old Abou’s case most appropriate I think!
However, he does keep coming back, every so often and then fires himself off onto the clinics couch. A bit like a boomerang?

  14. allezkev says:

I see that Monaco won their group, scoring only 4 goals, whilst conceding only 1….

Seems as if it’s gonna be tight affair tomorrow…

    1-0 would do me…
    2-0 would be fantastic.
But no away goals, not this time, hopefully.

  15. Micko says:

Bt, Citeh are in unknown territory, out of their depth, destine to never reach the last 16 of the champion league.

  16. tsgh says:

Bt.when Pelle’ joined I said he would stay 3 seasons max.
The old lady is playing well. Klopp has finished. imo

  17. rico says:

He did Bt and just been reading about his injuries. Good to see him fit and playing now…

Think I’m missing the live Eastenders, having to watch City play…. lol

  18. rico says:

City for sure Bt…. Suarez really needs to learn to celebrate his goals in a different way, otherwise someone will throw him a carrot…

Ts – I am, just thought it best not to talk to myself earlier… lol

  19. Micko says:

All good tsgh, gutted for Barton, misses our game next week, lucky for Huddlestone he weren’t packing a cigar or he would’ve be out for the rest of the season.

  20. Micko says:

Messi really does need to work on his headering doesn’t he, will never be world class until he addresses it will he !

  21. Micko says:

Nite Gooners, big game tomorrow evening.

rico, whatever happened to the Michael Lauriston Thomas post or like most things did it just fly over my head !!!

  22. allezkev says:

Rico, that is great news re; Toral

Apparently he has been suffering with a genetical knee problem, but seems to be overcoming it…

If Coquelin proved anything, he showed that you are good enough and work hard (and have a bit of luck) then you can make it at Arsenal…

After all, Bellerin has had some luck, due to the injuries to Debucy…

  23. tsgh says:

    Morning Rico et al..

Rico- After rewatching the Juve game I must admit the player you are going to buy for us next summer looked quite decent. 😉

Grey and damp here in Salisbury…

  24. tsgh says:

The high tempo game killed off pirlo so early on…

Juve are going on another long home record…47th game that they have not lost at home…
Bt- Morata was quite impressive starting ahead of his compatriot Llorente…
