He’s back training and raring to go, but will he play? Chambo thinks so…….

Morning all.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been talking to the official website about his best mate and fellow Arsenal player, Carl Jenkinson. Jenks, as he’s fondly referred to, is not far away from a return to playing again.

‘I’ll be delighted to see all his hard work pay off and for him to return. He’s looking really good at the moment’. Chambo told the Arsenal Player.

Whether he’ll break into this Arsenal first team again remains to be seen but considering the options open to Arsene Wenger at right-back are so limited, he has a good chance.

The two Englishman were chatting before the Carling Cup match against Nottingham Forest and apparently, Jenko said:

Look Chambo, I don’t want any of you lot taking it easy out there because I’ve got an eye on a little return soon in one of the later rounds.

Carl Jenkinson is back in training and looking good according to his mate so perhaps we’ll soon see his return. Maybe a game or two for the under 23’s will come first though to get match fit as he’s been out of the game for a long time.

Sticking with right-backs, Hector Bellerin seems to be ok after suffering a knock to his ankle the other night. Well, he’s remained with the Spain under 21 side so there’s hope he’ll be fit and ready for Swansea on Saturday.

From right-back to left back and Kieran Gibbs has received a late call up to the England squad after Ryan Bertrand lasted just sixteen minutes against Malta yesterday afternoon. Nacho Monreal has also been called up for his country due to an injury to Jordi Alba and could start for Spain later today against Albania.

Theo Walcott started for England yesterday but to be honest, I don’t know why he bothers. Rooney, who was pinging the ball everywhere, often miss placing his pass, barely passed the ball to him, neither did many other of the over-rated players in this England side. I was glad to see him be the first to be replaced to be honest and I’d certainly be happy if he doesn’t feature in England’s next match against Slovenia… Perhaps Southgate, who looked quite dapper in his blue suit and shiny shoes, will give Townsend or even Oxlade-Chamberlain a start instead…

Ozil, Mustafi, Koscielny and Holding have all been in action over the weekend, as has Ospina, Xhaka and Alexis Sanchez. Iwobi and Elneny should be in action later today.

Anyway, only a few more days to go and they’ll all be back in London, fit too hopefully…

    Thanks Rico .

You need to move to the mildest alround temp` in Britain to escape the shivers !………….I recomend South Cornwall………especially further west !.

Anyone see Grand Designs in the week ?…………that was South Cornwall, loved the steam bended wooden exterior. I know where the place is and shall drive past it on my deliveries next week and be nosey !. 🙂

    Buon Giorno Lovelies and Hunkies.

I saw the whole game yesterday and the best player on show was a player who was born in Surrey and can easily command a place in the lower divisions in England. Andy Hogg the Malta goalkeeper.

The Maltese players are quite limited in what they can achieve, but after being walloped 5-0 by Scotland much more was expected from the English team. I was not expecting anything from the Maltese team but tbh, the English players were falling over themselves on who would be the first one to send me sleep.

    It was bloody boring.

Oh…..and they did not make mincemeat of Malta.

England have a malaise……Rooneytitis. And a virus called GREATPRETENDERITIS.

Its not the manager or whoever is leading them who is the problem. Its the FA and its coaching system and political correctness plus hidden agendatitis of various top brass which is crap.

Rico….good post….I would love Jenks to push Bellerin for his place and come back a much better player.

Bonjour Cockie…..that comment about naming the wives according to date, especially 29th February, cracked me up yesterday. I was laughing so hard that the missus thought I was up to something…….and touched my forehead.

  4. rico says:

I’d love to LC, but the house prices are too steep… lol

Devil, isn’t the lovelies and hunkies getting a bit tiresome by now…?

Agree on last nights game, boring as heck and how Rooney is still being selected, or wearing the armband is nothing short of comical…

Southgate needs to grow a pair and drop him…

  5. Le Coq Monster says:

    Morning Dev`………………..come the 29th of Feb` she`d still probabbly have an headache !. 🙂

Come on Rico !……………dont you live near Reading !…………..Berkshire !………….must be near London prices !…………you could probably buy a large chunk of Cornwall ! 🙂

  6. Le Coq Monster says:

See this headline on newsnow…………..”15 suspected migrants have been discovered in a freezer lorry off the M25″………………I wonder if they were from Iceland ?

    Afternoon All…

Afternoon Rico, there’s a half-marathon being held in central London, causing traffic mayhem, but it keeps all the museli munchers happy…

£99 million for Icardi then, yeah?
    Sounds logical doesn’t it… ?
Yep, just the type of transfer that Wenger would do… ?
    Next…..

Ah Draxler, I see that his agent has been busy, putting the rumours out there.
    Only £67 million
    We’ll have a couple of them. ?
    Next…..

  8. Hell Raising Devil says:

Kev…..I just laugh at these reports and those fees mentioned. Even in a simple internet game I would not pay them…even if I had the money….let alone in real life. Elneny cost how much??? less than 8 million and tbh I would not change him or Coquelin for anything. Yes we have Cazorla, Xhaka and Aaron as well and I will happily rotate them but offer me Busquets for 90 million and I would say no. I have been supporting AFC for 40 years now and this group of CM is one of the best we have ever had.

Rico….would I drop Looney?? You can bet on that.

Had I been England manager yesterday I would have played this team……

    Forster
    ……….Cahill, Smalling, Stones
    Clyne, Drinkwater, Alli, Lallana, Rose
    ……..Sturridge, Vardy

that is 3-5-2 and THAT would have made mincemeat out of Malta

Yesterday I was laughing so hard when the Maltese commentator said that England were playing 4-5-1….when in fact they were playing a sort of 4-2-1-3 which many times ended on a flat 4-2-4 formation since the forward line were all square.

How many times Theo crossed the ball and there was no one in the box or penalty area???

Morning all and of course Rico.

I had the flu jab 3 weeks ago and for the first time my arm didn’t ache for a few days but there is a strange virus going on around here.I know several people who have it.it’s a virus starts in the ear that causes dizziness extreme sickness and the other.Only cure is rest.

I have a surprise for you (I hope) My daugher’s best riend has a long time boyfriend and he is best friends with Granit. They both lived in Kosovo even though Granit is a Swiss international they want him back,so I would imagine his roots are from Serbia.
Anyway I am trying to get a signed photo by him which is authentic and if i do i will only put it up on here and my closed FB site. That’s a problem.

England really aren’t a good team and that maltesser in goal wouldn’t look out of place in the PL

  10. Obi says:

I guess Ospina is telling his Columbian teammate Carlos Becca good things about Arsenal. Heard this during the Columbia v Paraguay game, according to West Ham Chairman David Gold they did everything they could to sign him, even throwing him crazy money, but Becca told them if he’s coming to England it will only be for Arsenal – I love guys like that……..

  11. allezkev says:

Dev, it’s all very very tedious, even the Bellerin rubbish, and Giroud for that matter.
I can’t ses anybody leaving anytime soon and I can’t sed anybody arriving in January either…
We have a very promising squad that is currently performing to the standards that it should…
Maybe the links to the young Celtic left-back have some truth in them?
Monreal is still very very good, but maybe a young understudy is what he needs.

I wonder if Jenkinson will be fit to return soon, maybe for Reading?
It’ll be interesting to see if he’s a more mature player than the likeable loose cannon we loaned out to West Ham last season…
    I wouldn’t write him off just yet…

    Back to work ?

  12. Le Coq Monster says:

Thank fcuk Trump didn`t realise he was still miked up !…………..no chance (what a relief) of him becoming the most powerfull man in the world after this (yet another ) fcuk up !…………surprised America is not under quarentine the amount of times he suffers from his foot in mouth disease !.

  13. Wavy says:

    I don’t mind being called a ‘lovely’. It’s been a long time since……….? However, ‘hunky’ I’m not s o sure that’s terribly PC!
Trump, to a small child it means something rather vulgar, altough often very funny. Donny certainly has a lot of smelly air and I imagine he has very bad breath too, what with all his m**f diving.
Jenks making the grade? Unlikely, but it would be good if he became sound cover for young Hector. I think he’s a very competent FB a good enough cover player but not a replacement.
Walcott, yesterday was completely ignored by our new playmaker Swine Loonie. If the player does not receive the ball he can hardly be criticised for not doing anything with it! In fact, if England have a weakness, a nd they do, it is that the MF’s cannot pass accurately to their fellow forwards or even any other team members. Stats! Apparently Loonie misplaced 28 passes yesterday. Hardly a demonstration of his WC qualities! And if he is the best we have to offer, the rest must be real shite! I mean, Henderson was MoM. I rest my case!

Afternoon all. Today has been really boring! Just nothing in the sports world to get excited about , after Lewis lost this morning everything has gone down hill since!

    I’m soooooo glum!

  14. Obi says:

Rico, he’s still balling thou. If I was to sign him I will want him to retire from international football.

  15. rico says:

Yes Obi, but is his quick on his toes, or as slow as Ollie. I’d have thought the way AW likes to play, he’d want pace and energy up front…

Antoine Griezmann is the one I’d love to see us break the bank for….

  16. Wavy says:

Buggin’s turn, Rico. Mercedes have a fair share agenda. Rosberg is German ( sort of) Mercedes are German. For the second time today, I rest my case!

  17. Obi says:

Rico remember I been saying this for a long time now, this Andre Silva kid at Porto is something special, or of course Lowendoski. The problem with Griezmann is he not a lone striker and not strong enough to hold the line. At Arsenal he will be a 10 or a winger.

  18. rico says:

    Reckon you’re right Wavy..

But he get’s goals Obi and we’ve more chance of AW signing him than finding a top striker, after all, when did he last sign one? lol

Don’t know anything about Silva tbh…

  19. Marshall says:

Morning all, it was nice to see Iwobi among the goals yesterday. Watched first half of the Nigerian game and you’d see that lad was above his native team mates. His first touch, the passing…goodstuff.

So far so good. Our players are still unscathed.

  20. Le Coq Monster says:

If I had the time I could drive there and draw giant knob in the sand exclusively for the House ! 😆

  21. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Buongiorno Lovelies and Hunkies.

I feel that Shitty are beginning to opt for a clever approach to lure Iwobi to the Etihad. They begin by praising Iheanacho and commenting how well he is linking with Iwobi.

Am I right in smelling a rat or is it a pure figment of my imagination?

  22. rico says:

Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez has confirmed Arsenal tried to sign him last summer but the Premier League champions refused to sell.

“There was contact with Arsenal,” Mahrez told Canal Football Club.

“But Leicester wanted to keep me and I was pretty expensive.

  23. Hell Raising Devil says:

Rico……it seems that NN is awash with the news that shitty are after Bellerin, while Alexis and Ozil may be holding the club to ransom.

While I agree that they are super players and our club needs their ilk, I am not at all fussed at them leaving…..if and only if they are replaced like for like.

A few days ago I said that no player should hold the club to ransom and imo once a player begins egging for more money than the structure then AW and the club should begin looking for their replacement. Not necessarily a photocopy so that the team remains playing the same system, but players who can offer something different.

  24. rico says:

There’s absolutely no way the club should even contemplate letting any one of the three go Devil….

Would be disastrous if they were…

  25. Hell Raising Devil says:

I agree Rico…..but do you reckon the club should be held to ransom??

Juventus have been doing that in Italy every year…..Pirlo and Vidal two seasons ago….they replaced them……Pogba this year….they replaced him. And each time they sold their stars for bucks and bought their replacements for reasonable prices.

I would love the idea of Griezmann and Alexis in our team, with Ozil between them……but if Alexis was to leave then I would go for Griezmann. Iwobi can play on the other flank.

I would love Ozil to stay…..but can replace him with Isco.

The problem crops up only if the playing style remains the same and the new players are gauged by the previous incumbent.

  26. Le Coq Monster says:

Dont like to wish my life a way, but come on Saturday !……………..these Russian Roulette Internationals are stressing me out with the concern of injuries and fatigue !…………………..wonder how many Swansea players are away with national teams ?……………..bet they`re all relaxing around a swimming pool with pole dancing sheep for entertainment !……….ewe better believe it !

  27. Micko says:

Le Coq, with a circus every fortnight they’re always gonna attract the clowns, long live Haringey Council I say.

  28. Obi says:

45 million For Riyad Mahrez, I wouldn’t even take him for free bcuz I have to pay him wages. Pound for pound, he’s more overated than Pogba. AW must had had several glasses of wine to make that bid. For that I go for Hamsik, Koke, Andre Gomes, Moutinho, Insigne heck Sigurdsson is even better than Mahrez. Dude played above his abilities for I year. I said it so many times I will pass on him and Kante any day. Even if you dont watch their games watch the 4 games against Arsenal, that should be enough.

  29. Obi says:

Now AW has no excuses not to resign Ozil and Sanchez, just use the 45m he was going to waste on that pedestrian Mahrez.
