Here's to another year…….

Morning all,

Another year has passed, one in which many good, bad and very indifferent things have happened.

Some of us may have found new loved ones, some of us have lost loved ones but along the way, most of us still stand to tell whatever tale needs telling, regardless. That regardless see’s us through and selfishly, it’s one of the reasons we all say hello most days on Highbury House.

You may not realise, but by doing that each day, you keep Highbury House going, you make it fun and you make it all worthwhile.

For sure there are days when if I could, I would bang a few of your heads together but… I can’t ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you, each and every one of you, for making this website what it is today,ย withoutย you, it would be nothing….

HNY2013

What more do you want on New Years Day eh ??

Let’s just go and get three points at Saint Mary’s……

Then we will all be happy…..

  2. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
    Shit post Rico ๐Ÿ™‚
    Happy New year all.:) ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. tsGH says:

A very good morning to each and everyone of us…..

I echo Sir Steve’s comment… I hope your post is not a reflection on the teams performance, short… ๐Ÿ˜€

May you all keep up to the resolutions you make, do away with slagging AW and his tactics and shine like a star. Wishing you a Happy New Year.

The best family since the square and compass crew… ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. devilgunner says:

Good Morning and A Happy New Year to all of my Esteemed Fellow Hobbits…………………Rico, W.A.T.H, Kev, Goonie, Sir SP, DG10, tsGH, ESP, Adam, JW, JM, Agag, Micko….and all the others who are too lazy in bed with a hangover and refuse to spring to my mind. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Banging heads together? Bang mine with Agag or Clorinda. Goonie’s is too hard. ๐Ÿ˜†

Three points today and another hat-trick by Theo. That will convince AW to hand him what he wants.

  5. Joaquim Moreira says:

Good morning and an Happy New Year to everyone!
    The sun shinning here ๐Ÿ™‚
It was a good race athletic this morning!
Three points this afternoon and it will be a great day!

  6. Scott from Oz says:

    Rico,
For every person whose head needs banging, you have one who is an easy ride like me ๐Ÿ™‚
In all seriousness, you make HH what is is, we just go along and enjoy the ride.
    Morning all.

  7. Potter says:

Morning all ,””HNY.”” ……….. 3 points tonight will be very welcome .
Will watch this from the comfort of the armchair and see if I can get the nerve to clear up the remains of the punch from last night.

  8. Joaquim Moreira says:

Nasri out for 3 games (suspend).
Barcelona rejects Villa on loan to Liverpool. Only accept the transfers for 15 millions in a definitely way,

  9. mog says:

hopfully 3 points tonight, the rest of jans matches will be hard. can’t see to many more points coming our way.
thats right my new years resolution was’nt to be positive.

  10. tsGH says:

Brilliant Lee, an absolute brilliant reminder of what ‘our Arsenal’ use to be like with the so called British core with heart unlike the Ramsey’s of this world eh! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Like Tony Adams asked 6 weeks ago, which Arsenal are the fans asking back when they mourn about the Arsenal of old….

Only one AW… Coygssss 3 points.

  11. EastSidePaul says:

First Arda Turan now Adriรกn Lรณpez, is there an Atletico player that we haven’t been linked with?
Although I would gladly welcome both.

  12. bondex says:

happy new year all…hope this year will be that year where we finally put an end to the sale of our better players and then start to win trophies….this year will definitely be a good one…cheers.

  13. emma says:

My New Year Jan transfer wishlist:
DM – Moussa SIssoko (After watching Tolouse last 3 matches Sissoko is a better DM and box to box than Capoue)
    Versatile Striker – Adrian lopez
Add Luke shaw to that and we are done

  14. Lee says:

It’s not big and it’s certainly not clever Kev…….
Latter part of January for a “board meeting” Kev?

  15. Lee says:

Happy New Year coach, to you and your family!
I am good, the headache is subsiding…… 3 points this afternoon will be a great tonic!

  16. agirlagunner says:

Happy New Year all, a few sore heads, I should imagine. ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s to a busy transfer window!!

  17. JW says:

    Agag,

We need to ship a few out and bring in a couple of “exceptional” ones. I’m sure Wenger wont let us down….this time!

  18. rico says:

1996/97 is The Premier League season being reviewed by Sky sports…

We were good then you know, even though we didn’t get the title, we were bloomin good….

  19. Lewis says:

Happy new year Housers! Hope 2013 turns out to be a top year for everyone.

Thank you Rico and all other posters for giving us a great blog to read and debate on. I generally have to start my day on this site.

Oh and COYG’s later. Lets start this year on a high!

  20. goonster says:

hey rico when is the game for pete’s sake? jeez i asked you ages ago yet no response. come on maam!

  21. rico says:

Hey goonie, sorry, I didn’t see your comment earlier… You should know ko time being a gooner ๐Ÿ˜‰

    One hour from now..

  22. goonster says:

oh ok maam, guess i can skip skiiing then. totts are 2.1 up on reading. grrrrrr. i hate those scummy bastards.

  23. rico says:

    Team in full:

Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott.

Subs: Martinez, Mertesacker, Coquelin, Ramsey, Rosicky, Gervinho, Giroud.

  24. goonster says:

anyway we ve got a new scoring sensation in yours truly. hopefully he ll sign a new contract and become a legend.

  25. rico says:

It’s difficult really goonster, he only really said what most think about what is going on…..

I don’t think the club thought he’d stay fit this long….

Could do with Frimpong coming up against him in the FA Cup ๐Ÿ˜‰

  26. goonster says:

that ll only end in disaster maam…..fergie ll make frimps life a living hell. the media ll hang him out to dry.

  27. rico says:

We are going to be stuck in 5th place for a while now, even if we keep winning. Unless of course, the Totts and Chavs start losing….

  28. rico says:

I cannot believe I missed The Wizard of Oz this afternoon ๐Ÿ™

Nearly as bad as missing The Great escape….

  29. devilgunner says:

The team are targeting the left hand side of Southampton…where Luke Shaw is. The crosses keep coming from there. They are allowing him to come up and then exploit the space behind him.

We need more figures in the box around the penalty area. Too many crosses have found no one and Boruc is not exactly sure what he is going to do.

  30. devilgunner says:

And for the second time in two weeks Jack’s middle earth bells are ringing again. Poor fellow. His girlfriend will need to massage them better today. I bet they have turned blue by now.

  31. rockyrocastle07 says:

Same to you Rico. And to everyone else.

sagna really has no fight in him. Looks like he doesn’t care

  32. Lewis says:

We’re playing the sort of attacking football set up for giroud. Not Walcott, how many crosses have come in from sagna and just been cleared. No one to attack it.

  33. tsGH says:

Ox never tracks back to help the RB. If we want the scenario of CJ25 and Theo at old trafford then ….

Again SC19 is missing or giving the ball away all day.

  34. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, Sagna is making terrible mistakes though, and plenty of them have little do with a lack of help though.
He just isn’t the same player.

  35. devilgunner says:

AW must instruct his players to play compact and hit on the break through the channels where Theo can use his pace well and utilise the space behind. Unfortunately we are playing with Giroud in mind.

So……when we have OG we play through the channels and stay compact, and he cannot move since he is slow. When we have Theo we wip in crosses intended for a 6ft plus striker not a diminutive footballer.

    My mind is dizzy …………………

  36. eastsidepaul says:

Cazorla is a gem playing with a bunch of mugs tsGH, what has Wilshere done? The guy isn’t half the player Nasri was.

  37. rico says:

Thanks rocky – we are very bloody lucky.

Get Giroud on to play up front with TW

    Then we’d rip them apart….

  38. tsGH says:

Hi Esp, JW is a puzzle… I for one have always thought AR16 offers something that even TR07 does not offer our to midfield but 90% of Arsenal fans do not like him but all the manure fans I know some family members still think Fergie should have got Ramsey…

On SC19 I think he has played too many games. This is a game calling for TR07 imo. This is where Rednose is superior to AW…

  39. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all.
Arsenal need the help of the referee to win this one.
It has to be said that we lack bottle, we panic and we pass backwards to much, nobody ever challenges in the air and nobody shuts their forwards down. we have wingers crossing to nobody and we needed a poorly taken free kick to get an own goal we are a mess. The other side is not much better it has to be said, But the ref will help us out i’m sure.

  40. emma says:

Theo can’t hold up play and the saints defence is very deep for theo to run behind. I say bring Giroud in switch to 4-4-2/3-5-2. Sagna needs a kick on the butt.

  41. eastsidepaul says:

    I’d have Rosicky playing too.
But overall i’d like players who look like they gave a shit.
OX is not a winger, Podolski is not a winger..
Hope we buy Luke Shaw, looks a hell of a lot better than gibbs.

  42. emma says:

Why are we scared of taking shots outside the 18yard box. Their keeper doesn’t look confident on the ball

  43. devilgunner says:

So with Ramsey out of the equation now its Wilshere’s turn.

EDP………can you give it a rest.

Answer me a question…….if there is no Wilshere or Ramsey who would you pick on????

If Wilshere has done nothing what have you ever done for Arsenal??

  44. tsGH says:

Dev I think Saints are playing deeper to nullify Theo’s pace. Exactly as I said on saturday that teams are going to work Theo out in 2 matches…. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We need a midfielder who is willing to run behind the opposition lines to help Theo out. Unfortunately JW and SC19 will never do that as G Neville said…

  45. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Gibbs is very improdutive.
why we are playing with the some team? we need new blood for help those who are tired and without reflex.
with Walccot in the centre, the full backs look up and they don’t see any of ours shirts. With this team, why we not put Podorkky more in th center? he hasn’t no space in the left.
    The show was very dark…

  46. eastsidepaul says:

Have i ever said he has done nothing for the club?
Don’t put words in my mouth, my particular distant is the club selling its best players and being in the situation its in now!

And what I have I done? Only supported the club since the day I was born, that what I have done!

  47. eastsidepaul says:

And I don’t have any real problem with Jack, just think there is a false hype around him, when we were so glad to see the back of better players like Nasri and Cesc.

  48. devilgunner says:

    eastsidepaul says:
    January 1, 2013 at 6:17 pm
Cazorla is a gem playing with a bunch of mugs tsGH, what has Wilshere done?

If he has done nothing…..why did you ask ESP?

  49. rockyrocastle07 says:

Who told Vermaelen to keep trying the Hollywood long ball? We seem incapable of any build up play.

  50. rockyrocastle07 says:

Am I missing something here? Are we playing against Barca today, or a team near the bottom of the league? We are getting owned all over the pitch. Pathetic.

  51. emma says:

tsGH – Looks like the sloppy gunners turned up today. The saints dodgy keeper has not being tested so far

  52. goonster says:

notice how the crosses have finally dried up since giroud came on. what is the water this players drink? i really wanna know.

  53. Scott from Oz says:

If Sagna has done twenty things, he has stuffed 15 of them.
    Even the little things.
It is a shame to see such a great player struggling so much.

  54. devilgunner says:

Southampton have managed to nullify Arsenal threat and managed to make the Gunners play in a way alien to them…..use long balls. That means we are playing how Southampton want us not the other way round.

And just a question……If Theo cant hold the ball up why are we not staying compact and allow Southampton to come at us? Why do we stay long? That should have been known before the match. Why not start with 4-4-2 with both Theo and Giroud up front?

  55. goonster says:

hahahahahah rico that was harsh! gerwanko is not shit…….he is obviously in the wrong league. the premier league is way too fast for his feet and brain i guess. send him back to france and you ll see a beast of a player emerge.

  56. devilgunner says:

I noticed that too Goonie. Theo is in….we whip in crosses. Giroud comes on….and they dry up.

    I’m so dizzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  57. Charlie George aka AK says:

Hiya Stan, no mate, not watching. And considering the comments on here, i’m rather glad….

Why doesn’t AW bring on Rosicky?
What was the point of re-signing him???

  58. Scott from Oz says:

    Very flat performance.
We can all pick out our “favourite” players to blame, but really, who DID play anywhere near their best??

  59. devilgunner says:

I feel that tonight was the last time that Sagna and Shaw played for their respective clubs.

Maybe they knew something we do not yet know.

  60. eastsidepaul says:

Great point!! Hard worked stuff, showed great determination!
They were probably a bit tired from playing the other day.

  61. goonster says:

hahahahah rico you crack me up???? utter shit she says. oooh to be a gooner. one day you re flying through the universe in a space shuttle, the next you re trudging along in kev’s jalopy. what a ride. hahahahaaah gosh i love arsenal.

  62. emma says:

Theo ยฃ100k a week? Pathetic display from our players. Rosicky should have being brought in for Gervinho.

  63. rockyrocastle07 says:

Fuck you Arsenal. Not going to bother getting worked up over these arose holes anymore. Rather go and support my home team Hoddesdon Town for a bit than these overpaid wankers. Give it a month and I may feel different but I’m not wasting my energy on Arsenal for a while. I’m off. Catch you all later in the month

  64. bob john says:

Anyone who thinks Walcott deserves what he wants should look at the end of the game. Hadnt even broken sweat.

  65. devilgunner says:

That’s the stuff ESP. “They were probably a bit tired from playing the other day.”

Its THEY not just one or two players.

  66. ozgunner10 says:

it amazes me… it was so clear from very early the tactic was failing and we do nothing as usual. Just how bad are this team capable of being? What was it Wenger said about it being “his best squad”, i mean really what chance do we have haha

  67. goonster says:

OMG, my stomach hurts. you guys are killing me, hahahahahahah weeel at least my zip worked????? that’s the best line ever. hahahahaahhaaha, i can’t breathe.

  68. eastsidepaul says:

I think one of the bottled water companies should sponsor Wenger to throw water into the crowd at half time.. think about it, more revenue coming in!

Guys you’re all looking past the potential in the team! I really think in the next few years we could start pushing for the title!

    Everything is A-OK! ๐Ÿ˜€

  69. ozgunner10 says:

“we’re still in the title race” was his comment yesterday – what does this man smoke? What amazes me more is. he actually believes it hahah

  70. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Evening All and Happy New Year to all my fellow Gooners in the House.

Rico – Thank you very much to The Lady of the House for another stellar year. My apologies for not posting for a while, but I’ve been busy with the family and the time difference olays havoc with my day.

  71. goonster says:

one shot one target? are you serious? against southampton? and we face the chavs, shitty and poop soon? lord help us,

  72. Joaquim Moreira says:

Well, one point won instead of 3 points.
Physically, Arsenal has always been evil. Against teams that make the physical strength and aggressiveness his greatest weapon, worse.
What is the reason for insisting on AW less than 48 hours, with the same team knowing this? Top it off with a few injured contrary to what is usual.
The comments and outbursts are obvious. Most players had an ability to react differently than usual, a late start and lack of strength in the legs.

  73. Lee says:

Santos and Diaby will be like two new signings!
Sagna, worst game I’ve seen him play for us….
Gervinho looks like he’s never played football before….shits himself when he receives the ball and his passes like Stevie Wonder!

  74. goonster says:

hahahaahh lee is on fire……where’s DNA when you need him? arsene am tired of defending you. from here on, you re on your own fella. am done.

  75. Lee says:

Let’s face it AFC has been in decline for years BUT the income stream is doing “swell”…….Syrup out!

  76. Adam says:

Lee. There are still many who think Wenger is the man to take the club forward. This group are dwindling though.

  77. rico says:

I cannot even be bothered to be angry.

I can stomach losing if we play well.

    I can stomach a draw if it’s deserved…

What I cannot stomach is watching a bunch of players who look like they have been in the pub all night and then turned up to play….

Not when we have lived through watching a team full of players who had been in the pub and then turned out in red and white and played their hearts out…

No, they were bloody Arsenal men through and through. Drunk, sober or whatever, they gave their all…..

It may not have been pretty always, but they were proud of Arsenal….

  78. W.A.T.H says:

Evening all, good job i am still pissed from last night as am sure I just watched us play Southampton and draw and we were really shit so least i know it can’t be true…!

  79. devilgunner says:

Better a drunk Tony Adams on one leg then the majority of the team playing today on three legs ๐Ÿ˜‰

  80. rico says:

Gutless Cg, thats what so many of ours are, and yes, I include TW in that today…

Just for those who think i am blind where he is involved….

  81. devilgunner says:

I told you Lady….. (and I hate saying that phrase)….Theo is a player. A good player infact. But not a footballer. A proper footballer can play in any position and know what to do.

Theo is a good athletic player. Remember Van Nistlerooy? He was a good player. But not a footballer.

There is a mite of difference between the two.

  82. rico says:

Please say that phase no more then devil ๐Ÿ˜‰

Theo was no worse than most, he made runs, they didn’t use it, but…. our passing was shocking, our team play was shocking. we offered little…

    we were crap….

  83. W.A.T.H says:

It’s funny how we all go on as if we actually think we’re any good….. We flatter to deceive time and time again, we win a few matches we actually should win with our eyes shut and then we go back to playing like what we are and thats a very average team…! Truth may hurt but thats the simple truth we are nowhere near good enough simple as that. We have a board who are happy with tens of millions in a bank we have average players a manger who can’t motivate an average side and we as fans expect them to be something they are not.

    Sad but true…………….

  84. devilgunner says:

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will not be signing for the club on loan during the January transfer window.

    More to follow.

  85. rico says:

Anyway, I need to get off here now, off for a coffee and then bed – yesterday was not my finest hour ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Night all…

Tomorrow must bring some good afc news ๐Ÿ˜‰

  86. devilgunner says:

I do hate saying it Rico. And as W.A.T.H said, sad but true.

Full marks regarding your comment Watty, mate.

We cant say this player or that.

Its the whole club from top to bottom.

A change in mentality will see a change in the players’ attitude. Simple as that.

  87. devilgunner says:

Good night dear Lady. Sleep well. Hope you have a better year then your last one.

At least smile a bit for us. You know we will always count on you to show us the way.

    ๐Ÿ™‚

  88. devilgunner says:

And its off for me also mates.

Good night my Esteemed Fellow Hobbits.

Time for me to enter the Hobbit hole……and that means comfort.

    Cu all tomorrow.

  89. Scott from Oz says:

As soon as an opposition side plays a high tempo game in Defence we are stuffed.
Forget Wenger and his tactical issues, most of these players seem to panic under the pressure and lose all confidence when a team gets in their face.
Come to think of it, most clubs in the world are the same.
This defence from Southampton meant we were resorting to crosses as our only viable attacking option, yet even Theos most ardent admirer would admit to having no confidence in us scoring under these circumstances.
Two up front, Arsene, two up front!!
We had more than one shot on goal by the way.
Not many, but we’d had three by half time according to the stats i saw.
    Not good enough, admittedly.
3 weeks ago, i guarantee everyone would have taken 13 out of a possible 15 points on offer, but after todays effort, we were lucky to get the draw.
As i said during the game though, credit to the opposition….they were very good.
To simply criticise Arsenal would be an arrogant and naive assessment of Southamptons performance, imo.

  90. Scott from Oz says:

Oh, and Wenger has slammed the performance, so enough of the insults about him making excuses.
So many turn as soon as below average performance is offered up.

  91. W.A.T.H says:

To highlight how good Southampton were Scott who are bottom three shows how average we are when we are talking about how well they played and not how we can’t beat them… Have we really dropped so low mate..? piss poor really that it’s how we judge ourselves when playing a bottom three team.
Hardly people insulting wenger when what they wrote is exactly his normal after match excuses.
For once he was honest and said we were not good enough and about bloody time too when players need to know they were shit and not performing. He’s wrapped em in cotton wool he protects them and takes all the grief they need to wear their big girl panties and take a gob full and do something about it although as I said earlier nothing much will change as we’re merely an average side who on our day can beat anyone when we feel like it but lack so many things to make us a consistently good side.

  92. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, i never suggested we were good mate, quite the contrary.
All i said was credit where it is due, and they were good.
I for one have noticed of late Wenger is not protecting the players anywhere near as much as he used to.
I have said for a while now that apart from the two Manchester sides, the PL is of very average quality, and that obviously includes us.
Still, we are good enough to finish top 4.
That is not a rap on our guys, but an indictment of the PL’s overall quality.

  93. W.A.T.H says:

Thing is though mate the fact we’re saying the rest are pretty average should not even come into the equation it just shows how far backwards we have gone that our hope and our sights are set on trying to finish 4th cos others are as crap as we are…!
Credit is due to Southampton they did play well and I’ll agree with you but that for me highlights how poor we are that we can’t beat a team bottom three. We could hardly string two passes together and why does the boss not rest Santi and play Rosicky, Santi clearly knackered mix things up change things but he don’t and then he wonders why the players let him down. I watch the game and see so many basic things wrong from pro’s on huge salaries it just does my nut…!. We are a club with millions in the bank but a board happy to go through the motions. Annoying, frustrating and very upsetting unfortunately it’s not gonna change any time soon.

  94. Scott from Oz says:

I agree we aren’t good enough….no argument there.
I also know we can’t compete seriously for the League.
Still, i do laugh when people say we will finish 6th or 8th though.
We desperately need players in this month, and classy players at that.
    See ya mate.

  95. allezkev says:

I saw brief highlights on MotD, and why Sagna didn’t just boot the ball away is mystifying?
    Our attack seemed toothless.
But, in fairness, 13 points from a possible 15 isn’t a bad return from the last 5 EPL games.
    Night all…

  96. ozgunner10 says:

you watch the heart and soul of United and the problem is very clear, we have movie star mentality they are professionals and gutsy who simply refuse defeat. Fergie swings his tactics as needed. We look for excuses to cover the vast inferiority of this “best ever squad” – We are so underprepared for battle so much of the time. This team needs a motivated boss (not motivated by money in the bank both his and the clubs) but someone who will try anything to win, someone brave, someone with fire, someone who understands its pointless making silly substitutions when your formation is simply not working. Wenger really is a one trick pony when things go wrong he sits there sulking or ravaging the 4th officials and is oh sooo predictable. 18 points the gap now, embarrassing to put it mildly. He claimed this to be “my best squad ever” Its not just the team thats lost touch with reality.

  97. Lee says:

โ€œI will be active [in the January window] yes,โ€ Wenger said.
    โ€œWe are looking everywhere.”
    โ€œWe are open-minded.”

โ€œWe want to strengthen the squad everywhere.โ€

  98. Adam says:

Morning Lee. Surely transfer targets should have been identified before the window opened and negotiations be underway now. After all, our situation is hardly new is it? Syrup out!

  99. W.A.T.H says:

Lets hope they not just started looking Lee…………….. They should of been looking for months and by now know exactly who they want…! Don’t look Arsene go buy what we need pronto…!

  100. Lee says:

Adam, I don’t know the ins and outs of the transfer market BUT you’d like to think the wheels would be definitely in motion?!?! AW will do his usual, wait until the last minute of the window to try and get a bargain. We really don’t act like a big club, do we?

  101. Lee says:

Sooner the new players are bought the better….gives AW time to play them out of position and make them worse than before. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  102. W.A.T.H says:

Sagna ain’t been that good at all since he came back from injury Lee…… We really should be playing Jenks and see how Sagna responds but cant see AW dropping Bac….!

  103. W.A.T.H says:

Mate as you well know my dissatisfaction with our club goes back many years it’s not an over night phenomenon that I have just suddenly stumbled upon..!

  104. Adam says:

Part of me still questions whether giving Wenger a lot of money makes sense when he clearly cannot motivate the players we already have.

  105. Lee says:

You facetious Adam…..I’m not having that!
What’s the point of Gervinho? We’d be better off with ten players!

  106. Adam says:

Lee. I think you are missing the comedy element of Gervinho. Let’s not be too hard on him. He only cost ยฃ10 million and is on a paltry ยฃ3 million a year. You know how hard it is to get by on that.

  107. Adam says:

Lee. After careful consideration I really think it is time for one of your famous player by player assessments. ๐Ÿ™‚

  108. Lee says:

Now that you’ve enlightened me to his role at AFC, I will cut him some slack. Does he have a bright red nose? A Bentley that when you shut the driver’s door the passenger door falls off? Over-sized boots that he keeps tripping up? The list is endless….

  109. Lee says:

Adam, there’s talk of a HH board (bald) meeting at the end of January, I’ll have my dossier at the ready.

  110. W.A.T.H says:

    Honestly Adam…. not sure mate………
I’d have to know the behind the scenes stuff to make an accurate reply on that question…

IF the funds have been withheld the last few years then yes I’d let him spend big… IF the funds have been there then I don’t think i would now let him spend with whats going on….!

  111. Adam says:

We could all pop along for the meeting, eat an animal or three and then continue to The Comedy Store. I hear they have a really funny new act. Santos and Gervinho. They come on, dressed as footballers. One is a little fat bloke and the other has an amazing syrup on. It’s a knockabout act really, slapstick in fact. Santos kicks the ball to Gervinho while eating a plate of chips and Gervinho pretends he is trying to control it before twisting and turning and falling flat on his face. Critics say it is hilarious, if not slightly one-dimensional.

  112. Lee says:

Gervinho wouldn’t get a game for my local pub side….I really don’t know what he offers us? Apart from his comedy value that is….
Is the Comedy Store the Emirates?

  113. Lee says:

Diaby could be used as the plank on Gervinho’s shoulder smacking Santos across his cheek…the list is endless!

  114. Lee says:

Systematically dismantling the squad and replacing the players with cheaper inferior ones will eventually take it’s toll. 2004 to 2008 to 2012 it’s a worrying one way trend….and as you say AW is incharge of the supposed “war chest!”
