He wouldn’t, would he? Arsenal fan ready to snub rivals to make move?

Morning all.

Chuba Akpom is being heavily linked to Liverpool. Our young striker, who looks miles ahead of Yaya Sanogo in terms of footballing skill, is out of contract this summer and free to move wherever he wants.

Liverpool aren’t the only side who are reported to be interested in snapping up our youngster with possibly Borussia Dortmund being the pick of the lot.

If he wants to leave, I truly hope it’s not to another PL club because he could come back to haunt us. Hopefully though, with Yaya Sanogo out of the way, Akpom will get more playing time, time which will convince him to stay at the club he’s been with since the age of six.

So what if he has Welbeck and Giroud ahead of him in the striker department, give him more playing time and he’ll soon show whether he’s got what it takes or not and I suspect he has….

Gabriel Paulista was granted a work permit yesterday and that decision came as a bit of a shock to me as things like that don’t usually go in our favour. Anyway, all good and no doubt we’ll hear later today that his move done and dusted. There are mixed views on his imminent arrival, Thierry Henry reckons Arsene has signed a really good player, Charlie Nic thinks he’ll need a season to adapt. I hope he slots right in quickly, just like our last South American signing has…

But will he be our only defensive signing before the transfer window is firmly locked and bolted up until the summer?

Not if the newspapers are right..

The Kevin Grosskreut rumours won’t go away will they. According to The Express, he’s our new priority. He’s Mr Utility. The 26-year-old can play in both midfield and defence and would cost around £3.7m.

It’s claimed that Grosskreutz is an Arsenal fan and, despite interest from United, would be keen to link up with Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

Seven days to get that one done and at least there’d be no work permit issues to sort out. And we’d get one over Utd should we capture his signature.. Oh, and he’s meant to be good which is a massive bonus. lol

A nice home fixture fell our way in yesterdays FA Cup draw and it’s Middlesbrough who travel to The Emirates next month. Ok, they beat the current League champions in the last round but having watched the highlights, City were robbed of a couple of penalties in my opinion and they absolutely battered the Boro goal.

That’s it for Tuesday, more signings please Arsene, good ones of course!

Have a good day folks…..

    Good post Rico…

    Grosskreutz sounds an interesting player…
A utility player with a great attitude. Someone who wouldn’t go missing up at Stoke…

  2. a says:

I believe wenger only wanted welbeck as a loan signing , with giroud’s injury he knew he couldn’t rely on welbeck and sanogo and akpom.

we need him to sign then he needs to be loaned out

my only issue with akpom is why he didnt choose to play for england.

  3. potter says:

Time for Dick Law and Gazidis to earn their corn , Chuba wants first team football, Klopp has made an offer. Grosskreutz wants to come to us , there has to be a deal in there somewhere.
Use Akpom as a makeweight to get Grosskreutz either as a loan or with a buy back clause. Chuba gets to play , we get our man and in 18 months when Klopp and Wenger leave their respective clubs , Who knows ??????

  4. tsgh says:

    Ditto above Potter.

Rico, I bet you made up the Grosskreutz rumours. 😛

Bt- why would you want an Aussie to replay AW? 😮

  5. Wath says:

I think Akpom has real potential, I’ll be highly peeved if he leaves although as has been mentioned he not done himself any favours what so ever not choosing to play for England..!
I like Ts think he best suited on the wings at present until he is a little more mature and experience to be able to play as the lone striker, I think he has the power Ts just needs to learn his trade. Potter has a point but if we sell him on with a buy-back that would only work if he goes to Europe… No way would Lfc agree to that or anyone in the prem lge…! We need to get the boy to commit and show him some big love…!

  6. rico says:

a, I’d rather Akpom stayed and played and Sanogo stayed on loan…

I think AW doesn’t think much about Akpom rejecting England too….

  7. allezkev says:

    So after Boro, we’ll be wanting;

    Emirates
    Wembley
    Wembley
    and
    Wembley = Charity Shield…
    Beat Man City again…

    That’ll do for me…

  8. Hell Raising Devil says:

If we win the EPL (unlikely) and we win the FAcup who will we play in the Charity shield?? The Arsenal ladies team??? If yes get me a ticket Kev. I will be there to see them change the shirts at the end. lollllll

    Good Afternoon Quacks and Cuckoos.

    Nice roundup Rico.

Grosskreutz for me all day long. I rate him highly.

  9. Lee says:

If Grosskreutz (great name) is good enough for the right people on here, he’ll do for me! But why is he so cheap….? Alledgedly?

  10. Joe says:

Grosskreutz and a number will make for an expensive Jersey they’ll make their money back in the first week. 🙂

  11. allezkev says:

Icing on the Cake, Rico, probably the best January Window in the World…

Off for a couple of beers soon… 😀

Hey Coach, how’s things in the Med..?
It would be great for us to go to the Cup Final together, along with Pa…

Funnily enough j was chatting to my son yesterday, and tbh I rather enjoyed the semi-final.
More real fans at that occassion.

Didn’t go to the Final, just celebrated over the phone with Lee…

  12. rico says:

Load of bollox imo Ts… But yes, I guess the family need to do what they see fit….

Kev, sure would be one of our best in a while. You enjoy your beers, have one fir me….

  13. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
Good post Rico. reading one of your comments yesterday I had a fealing you had something like this in mind.

Wath your 11.26 is spot on, but I will say I will be more then highly peeved if he is allowed to leave. Arsene must find the way to give him more playing time
his last game for the u21’s was 15Dec his next is 9th feb.
In total he has played 11 games for the U21’s and 45 mins for the First team
In comparison Debuchy (with injury’s) has played 14 for the first team and Giroud ( with injury and ban) 13.
Tonight the U19’s are in Madrid and I think he thought he would be with them,
thanks to some idiot in Uefa deciding you had to be under 18 to play in the Compition he is not.
    Rant over

  14. Rick says:

    My pleasure Rico.
    Team news for tonight.
Huddart, JohnsonDobson O’conner Robinson .Niles Zelalem Iwobi Crowley
Hinds and Mavididi. Unexpected Choice gone with 2 c/f

  15. Hell Raising Devil says:

Hiya Kev. Here its cold. humidity is very high……85 to 90%. we had hail yesterday and a week ago we had snow as well…floating gently.

but we have bouts of sun as well.

If we get Grosskreutz and a DM it will be a good TW.

But I prefer if Coquelin signs. He did a good job in the last games. I feel he will grow into that role. AW should talk with him and show him that he is wanted…..JW or not. the latter must fight for his place.

  16. Rick says:

H/T still 1-0. Iwobi and criwley both missed good chances.

BT there is no live stream.
Rico it is my onlry email address
    More Latter

  17. Bt62 Gooner says:

Rico, total understandable, anyone with an ounce of compassion would be moved…
To forget would be as great a crime……imo

  18. Wath says:

Sounds like we had all the play and the chances Rick and didn’t score…. Now where have we heard that before….!

  19. Rick says:

Wath I have been told the Neville brothers played for Madrid tonight and some of our boys were victims of some very crude tackles. However we had enough chances to have won the game. Looking forward to hear what Kat has to say about it, he do’snt mince his words

  20. potter says:

Michael Oliver took the chav – dipper match , some unreal refereeing , somehow he managed to keep all 22 on the pitch when in all fairness 3 or 4 could have gone. Mourinho might be interesting in his post match assessment but as they won he might just tone it down a bit.

  21. Wavy says:

Fabregas, hamstring injury! Will he play again before May? I mean we’re only just into the new year. If I remember rightly he doesn’t play much after Christmas. He and Diaby bonded every February!
    Sorry still sour about Fab4!

  22. tsgh says:

ha ha Wath love your 12:27… history says after he has his January holiday with his Mrs he gets injured and then goes missing periodically until 4 weeks before season comes to an end.

I can see Micko thinking you cynical bunch.. 🙂

    Morning Scott, Rico and all…

  23. scottfromoz says:

Costa IS a SHITE man, if nothing else.
What a disgustingly horrid little piece if shit he is.
Costa and Jose are interchangeable n the sentence.
Just saw the highlights….a term used very loosely on that game lol.

    Ginge…..Wath…..morning lads.

  24. potter says:

Should have seen the whole thing Scott , it could and probably should have ended 8 onto 10. Sure Costa should have walked but so should Gerrard, Emre Can and Skyrtl . The ref Michael Oliver lost control and everyone is concentrating on the Costa obvious , the stuff in the background is being overlooked . Standard all action English cup tie played with a frenetic pace , over the top tackles and the reason why the world loves it and England will never win the world cup again .

  25. Wath says:

    Morning you lot….

I always make sense Ts, just need some medicinal GG lubrication to start with..!

    Glad you feeling better Scott.

Potter, A lot of those flying tackles and over the top stuff was from non English players though lol… Just saying…!

  26. scottfromoz says:

Fair enough Potter, but I’d say there’s more to the lack England’s success than that, to be fair.
Thanks Wath…..it’s nice being able to eat, and then keep down, actual food again 🙂

  27. tsgh says:

    lol WAth, Scott.
Well, Wath if the foriegners don’t show any ‘passion’ they are dont by the ‘expert’ pundits that they do not value the importance of the FA cup…

  28. Wavy says:

Costa didn’t ‘stamp’ on Skertl he ‘trod’ on him, as you do with a piece of random shite! After the dipper had given him a good but unpunished series of puls, ushers and kicks etc. it was only retribution!
But the plot against the chavs is probablly unfurl a little more in the near future. The FA will trump up a charge and a case to answer. As opposed to Gerard’s assault on the brazilian haircut! He got booked after all, Costa didn’t get booked at all until his confrontation with Gerard!
The F*** All should hide their heads in shame!
When do we play Chelsea? Will the shite Costa still be suspended? Gone charge the twat, if it benefits us!
    Signed, The Fixer
    Lol

Top of the morning to you all
