He needs a new hobby, far far away from football!

Morning all.

I’m only writing a new post to keep the website fresh. If it wasn’t for you guys, I wouldn’t bother as I’m bored to tears with the club I love. Not the owner, the board or Wenger, it’s The Arsenal I love and this Arsenal is nothing like the club I grew up supporting from a young age.

Unlike many, I wasn’t born into the club, the club grabbed hold of me in 1971 and I’ve not looked back since. Actually, that’s not quite true because I do look back often and wonder how the hell the club is where it is today.

I get the shares being sold, that’s football these days because let’s face it, there are very few clubs left who don’t have big money men owning them. Some are far less ambitious than Kroenke, others are ruthless as they go all out for success and those are the ones who would have sacked Arsene Wenger a long long time ago but when a manager has so much power at the club as I believe Wenger has how could those who have become part of the hierarchy since David Devin left claw back power from Wenger? How could Ivan Gazidis tell the bloke who practically employed him that now he was Wenger’s boss? Yes, good luck there Ivan.

The club is stale from top to bottom and imo, until Wenger is gone, things aren’t going to get any better. In fact, I reckon they’ll get worse, certainly as far as the football goes. If it were down to me, I’d sack Wenger this morning but we know that’s not going to happen so the rot will continue. Fine, let it happen because it’s nothing more than Wenger deserves. As far as the squad, the attitude and the tactics go, it’s down to him. As far as  the results and performances go, it’s down to him. The reason Alexis and Ozil want out, yep, it’s down to him.

There’s little point dissecting the pathetic and boring match last night as in reality, it was just a repeat of so many performances we’ve seen in recent years although I was pleased for Xhaka, Maitland-Niles and Wilshere who were at least trying to make something happen unlike the manager who sits and does nothing for ninety odd minutes or on the training pitch between fixtures.

But I guess it’s too late now, like many of us, the players are bored. Bored with the same boring football. Bored of the same pathetic excuses too.

Do yourself and us a favour Arsene, find a new hobby as far away from Arsenal as you can possibly get.

I appreciate your penning yet another missive on what seems like treading on a never stopping water wheel. The worm has turned and someone with some clout needs to take him to one side and tell him to step down. The only person that I can think of with that amount of kudos is David Dien . Perhaps the last great thing he could do for the club would be to persuade him to step aside , he boughthim in maybe he should tell him to go !

  2. potter says:

Likely to get one Saturday although a 3 pm kick off might boost the crowd although if it’s low they can always blame pre Christmas or Brexit.

  3. Alex says:

    Rico good morning !

The man is on a mission to bring down the club systematically……….That is it !
    There is no other explanation.

Every single time the ball comes near the defence is a worry.
The goalie is erratic the defenders are all over and this is after Le prof spent close to 100M just on to that defence.

Physically and mentally jaded team and lets not forget they are only playing one game a week …….completely unmotivated rather than physically jaded must say.

In Le prof they trust and the likes of Untold will not blame the manager just for vested interest.

  4. allezkev says:

We might have to wait until later in the season for the empty seats Rico, depends on how we do in the cups, we’ve actually still got a lot to play for and that’ll keep the crowds turning up.
It’s the hope that kill you…

  5. Le Coq Monster says:

    Thank you Rico.

Only the deluded few, the few of the few and far between think we are going to go forward under Mr Narcissism.

Just reading a piece by Rio Ferdinand and he agrees with us non deludeders, we`re going backwards !

As usual I agree with Scott that the man at the very top needs to act, but we know he wont and I` m afraid we going to have to put up with another 18 months of heart ache, only two more FA Cups will keep me sane !

    😯

  6. Alex says:

    Rico
The blame stands squarely on the top not Le Prof.

Le prof is just an employee after all and leave sentiment aside Le prof suppose to be shown the door long time ago.

Le Prof as a person is nothing more than egoistic self centered prat not a honorable football man .Because has he been otherwise would have raise his hand and said i cannot take club further and resign.

I am convinced more than ever that in future will come a lot of truth and we will.learn that Le Prof was something very different contrary to what believed.

  7. allezkev says:

If we get past West Ham in the League Cup then we’ll have one hell of a busy January with two League Cup S/F against top opposition.

I bet he won’t play a weakened team in them, he knows he’s on thin ice.
Some of his post match comments are quite bizarre.
I think he could be heading for a mental breakdown.

  8. Le Coq Monster says:

I`d take winning the three cups that we`re still in and relegation !……………………that would confuse everyones feelings ! hahaha

  9. Le Coq Monster says:

Like to hear Lee`s viewpoint, but he`s probably frustrated looking through an English dictionary trying to find new expletives !

    🙂

  10. ScottfromOz says:

Alex, rightly or wrongly, I think Arsene still believes he can lead us forward.
Very, very few would agree but to suggest he’s sabotaging us is pretty far fetched, imo.
It seems he has little else in life BUT the club, yet he’s be better off without it and vice versa, I reckon.
He could help rebuild a struggling club, imo, but there’s no way known he can take us the infamous next level.
Stan can’t, and nor can Ivan or the board, though, so we really are up shit creek.
I total clean out is required and that goes down through coaching staff as well as the playing squad squad.
The culture of the club needs changing.

  11. allezkev says:

It wouldn’t surprise me to see this team get to the League Cup final in February, needs must and a competition that Wenger helped to make irrelevant over the last 20 years, might suddenly become very important to him.

Nothing distracts supporters’ attention quite like a trip to Wembley for a Cup final.

George Graham did it regularly after his teams ceased to be competitive in the league…

  12. Le Coq Monster says:

Very true Rico………………………in an Arsenal board meeting with Wenger at a throne one end and Stan on his throne at the other end with all the servants in between they are all complicit in our current demise !

  13. rico says:

Getting to the league cup final will probably depend on the team he selects and considering the Europa kicks off again in Feb, I can’t see Wenger fielding a strong side. Tbh, unless Moyes rotates in a similar fashion to what Wenger probably will, I can see us losing to them.

  14. Le Coq Monster says:

    Keown as well talking sense.

“Champions League now is not looking like it’s not going to happen for Arsene Wenger and questions are going to come again for the manager – is he going to be there next season or not? It looks like the end,”

“If it doesn’t get much better for him then at the end of the season he has to hold his hands up and say: ‘Maybe I’m not the man to take this club forward.’”

  15. allezkev says:

Wenger has never forgiven Walcott for speaking out last season Rico, but Theo will just get on with it, do his training, draw his wages, play and score in the League Cup and probably leave on a free in 18 months time.

  16. allezkev says:

LC, I’m not sure, that with half the season to go that Keown can say with any certainty that we’re not going to make the CL, that’s a dumb thing to say.
I mean will Burnley be there in May just because they’re there now?

  17. rico says:

    Keown often makes sense..

If Theo has any sense Kev, he’d leave next month if Wenger will let him. If not, in the summer because he’s not going to play much football under Wenger.

I’ve forgotten what Theo said Kev.

  18. rico says:

Knowing Wenger, yes Kev, especially if there’s still a chance of us still making the top four when the semi’s and final comes around..

  19. Le Coq Monster says:

I wondered about that bit of his comment, Kev, seeing as technically we are only one point from 4th spot and that could all change as quickly as Saturday !

Makes you wonder though, do Bindippers go mental about Klopp on their blogs ?……………they may play exciting football with constant pressing, but it`s only a point difference and they are not going to win the league are they !

  20. allezkev says:

Theo said, after a home defeat, that the opposition looked more up for the game.
Wenger probably took that as a slight on his preparation.
    Which it was tbf…

I think that Theo will just play out his contract Rico, he’s not going to get £110k pw anywhere else, England is in the past for him now, I think he’s quite comfortable and if Wenger doesn’t want to use him, then so be it.

  21. allezkev says:

I’m not so sure Rico, depends on how the results have been if and when the S/F comes around, we could still be in contention for a top four but going to WHL or OT and being humiliated isn’t gonna look good is it?
    And he knows that.

  22. rico says:

Well, if that’s his attitude Kev, he’d should be out the door…

Theo is right though, the opposition often look more up for a game than us…

Lc, perhaps the difference is that Klopp does appear to be trying and he’s young. We however are stuck with a guy who is old and reactive instead of being proactive…

  23. allezkev says:

LC, I’ve noticed a bit of a change in Klopp recently, he isn’t the larf a minute genial German he used to be, there’s been a fair amount of criticism of him from Liverpool fans recently.
The CL will drain the energy from his squad and I reckon Liverpool will finish 6th or 7th.

  24. allezkev says:

Rico, I don’t blame Theo at all, why should he take a pay cut just because Arsene has the hump with him. Theo is still useful to have around and if we get a couple of injuries in the striking dept he’ll be welcomed back like the prodigal son.

  25. rico says:

Klopp getting a bit of stick from the media and he doesn’t like it…

I don’t blame Theo at all Kev, I’d do the same if I was only about money.

  26. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Dejá vue!
What was the ball possession percentage yesterday?
We have more players to prepare the game and few players in the area to hold the defenses and have to leave more space between the lines.

  27. potter says:

I think the worm has turned in the heart of the playing staff. The players are not stupid they know and understand football and they know that they are going nowhere in this present situation. That’s why the contract rebels are off and the ones that are overpaid and comfortable can sit back and get the brandy and cigars out.

  28. jeff wright says:

Blimey ! Would you Adam and Eve it we had the most possession but the Hammers came closest to scoring… all that tedious pass the parcel football that Wenger is serving up is so yawn inducing… the TV stations have paid so much dosh out to televise rubbish like last night’s fare that the commentators are obviously under orders to talk it all up and try to make it sound exciting…this ploy works on the radio but not on TV where the viewers can see with their own eyes what is actually transpiring… it will be interesting to see how the TV football fares when it goes head to head with Saturday night prime-time TV shows I reckon that watching the TV commercials is more entertaining than that rubbish last night and last Sunday’s tedium as well . Wenger’s gone quiet now about refs decisions costing him and is struggling to come up with any rational explanation as to why his side is playing so poorly the old lacking sharpness one that he trotted out again last night lost its credibility donkeys years ago . You couldn’t make it up.

  29. Le Coq Monster says:

You cant win !…………………..he moans when we were in CL about too many games and fatigue…………………….now he comes up with the lask of sharpness because he rotates the EL and Carabeo Cup teams to the EPL team, so the poor first choice EPL team is too inactive in relaxation !
He constantly makes excuses blaming anything or anyone but himself……………………….I`d love him for once to come out and say he got it wrong tactically.
I think I`ve only heard him say he made a mistake once and that was after last season when he said his contract renewal situation did not help the team !………………………spot on Arsene, but the flip side it helped your bank balance !

  30. rico says:

Potter, nail firmly landed on head. He lost the players long before this season imo.

Lc, you’ll have a long wait. I’m still waiting for him to admit project youth was a disaster.

    Afternoon guys.

  31. Alex says:

As it Is becoming fashionable for players to run down their contract and surely Le prof has in mind that for himself.
With that i expect highly Le prof next season and after to move up some where in the office.

  32. Adam says:

Our current plight has been the same for a number of years really. The CL qualification, which has been squandered and the cup finals have all masked our lack of quality players, sensible tactics and a plan to take the club forward. I think most can now see that we are going backwards and actually stagnating. There’s a whole, evolving football landscape in this country and Arsenal’s only part in that is that they are a huge club, in London, with a massive revenue. In sporting terms we are so far off the pace it has become embarrassing.

  33. Le Coq Monster says:

That`s the sad thing, Adam, massive club with great history, great fan base, great stadium in arguably the worlds greatest city, great history with everything in place to be one of the worlds top clubs both on and off the pitch……………………..then you look at our manager and board !………………………………are they intent on trying to ruin us with their blind and deafness ?

  34. Adam says:

LC. That’s true but the Arsenal board have seldom moved at anything other than glacial pace.
The question is whether the current board have it within themselves to take a brutally honest look at where we are as a sporting club and not as a business. I always think that everything stems from success on the pitch.

  35. Wath says:

Nothing will give, the fucktards haven’t got a scooby and more to the point they couldn’t care less either because the pounds are still rolling in..!

Nothing changes while the support sits on it’s arse shrugs it’s shoulders and says “oh well what can we do”… apathy on and off the pitch..!

Thing is it’s the support that actually can instigate and make things change…!

  36. Wath says:

Can the troops me rattled enough to do something about it is the question Rico…. I doubt it but stranger things have happened.

  37. Wath says:

Exactly Rico.. enough said… if all the fans do is moan then nothing will happen, stop moaning and do something or shut up and accept the shit that’s going on, can’t have it both ways.

Ni nite…. I’m off for a pint of vodka with that other miserable bastard, Lee.. Cheers..!

‘allo ‘allo Blighty. The weather is scorchio here today & scorchio again tomorrow. More good news is that Rupert has sold his Fox to Disney & now he wants to concentrate more on his Fox Sports, which will hopefully mean he will get back 10 live games per week of the English Premier League back here @ the Home of the Ashes!

1971 rico? Did you get the photo of me with Mr 1971 I sent HH?

TBH, the loss of live PL games from Foxy has caused the wane in my interest in The Arsenal, but it will be good when Arsene goes, probably in 2030 or beyond at the rate its sounding like 🙁

  39. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Another embarrassing press conference by Wenger this morning. He’s bitching about Man City’s money again. He forgot to mention Burnley’s astonishing wealth though.

  40. Adam says:

Rico. It was, like most of his recent utterings, complete and unrealistic nonsense. He really hasn’t grasped the fact that Arsenal have become irrelevant. Sad, but true.
He can explain everything away but his crushing intellect can’t stomach the realities of the road his team is on so it’s the money thing again.

  41. Adam says:

Rico. If he keeps Sanchez and Ozil until the end of the season and fails to achieve his coveted 4th place then I cannot imagine how he will explain blowing the money and the league. And what a dodgy place that will leave the club in, regardless who the manager is.

  42. rico says:

Adam, me neither and I honestly don’t think we’ll get top four. Not the way we are playing. I suspect we’ll struggle to beat Newcastle tomorrow.

  43. Wavy says:

In Wenger we rust. Never a truer word!

I don’t know why he does pressers he never says anything of any news worthiness. Unless we all think that talking to Jack about his next contract has any traction with any of us. It seems to me that he’s has largely given up on Wilshire because he doesn’t know how to keep him fit! Similar with Walcott. He upset the Wenger apple cart and has played a very minor role since, although he remains one of our most prolific goal scorers!
Stubbornness, spite, old age, cussedness, and vengeful all part of the Wenger motivational toolbox. No wonder we are in such a parlous state.
I have a plea for Arsene:

For pity’s sake hang up your trainers, collect your golden handshake and leave the Arsenal portals before any more damage is done to what once you helped to become one of the great premiership clubs. It is now in tatters and only YOU ARE TO BLAME.

Sunny and bright here but like my heart, icy cold.

  44. allezkev says:

Wavy, Arsenal are a cup team, simple as that.
Forget about the League this season, and if he stays one more year, forget about the League next season.

  45. allezkev says:

Cast you mind back to how Arsenal morphed post the 1991 title under George Graham.
From 1992 until he left, Arsenal were a cup team and awful in the League.
    History repeating itself.

  46. Adam says:

Well said Wavy. I too cannot understand why he does these press conferences as he is so obviously anxious to drop his pearls of wisdom on just about anything else except why we are so poor these days. I can only assume it’s part of some contractual obligation. If he really cannot see what’s happening at the club or that he honestly believes that anybody who criticises him is completely wrong. Or that he thinks there is nobody else who could possibly do a better job than he is right now, then we might be in deeper trouble than I thought.
Then again, a well run business has safeguards called the Board who, in this case, really should be taking an overall view of Wenger’s performance and asking themselves the hard questions too.
    Perhaps they are.

  47. Wavy says:

Yes Kev they will and they will smell as sweet as a rose! However until the old person pushes off there will still be the foul smell of failure and lack of achievement around the Emirates. We need the fumigators in, and sooner rather than later, imo of course.

  48. Le Coq Monster says:

    Evening all

Arsene does press conferances so we can take the piss out of him and also gives us ammunition !

I hear Kim Kallstrom has announced his retirement from football !………………just in tiime for the January transfer window where Arsene will get him in on loan as cover in case Alexis and Ozil move on !

  49. Le Coq Monster says:

It may be a sign though !……………….It`s the same day as my Gooner sons wedding and the bride to be`s Dad is a Spud !………………I feel an uncontrollable urge to kill him !…………………..hate Spuds !…………………………..like my wife`s niece`s son is a Gooner who married a Spud !……………I dont get it !…………………………..when I was young the first thing I asked a girl was………….. have you any Spud connections ?……………………….If answer was no, then next question was………….Have you one of those weird looking pop out belly button`s ?
