Has Theo proved he can lead the line.

Well it was a great game of football yesterday, it was a cracking end to end game that could in all fairness have been double what the scoreline was.

Leicester played with freedom and pace and width and didn’t sit back at all, they came at us from the first whistle and they will give many teams a run for their money if they carry on playing like that week in week out.

Both teams had chances before Vardy put Leicester one up, Ramsey was about to pull the trigger in the Leicester penalty area but was robbed of the ball and then they broke quickly exposing us at the back and Vardy scored a very good goal…!

I wondered if maybe Cech could of done a little better but in fairness he was left in no mans land and Vardy took his chance well. We were straight back up the other end and the game continued like this until Vardy hit the crossbar and we then went straight up the field with a lightning break and a clinical finish from Theo one all… game on…!

Theo made a great run took the ball in his stride and slotted into the far corner.

Theo was a threat throughout the game and his movement was very very good, he was running in behind and dragging the defence out of position and making space for others. This is how we need him to carry on, my one concern is when we play teams who sit deep and do not allow us the space to pick passes and make runs off the last defender and his threat is somewhat nullified..!

What also makes a huge difference is quicker passing from the midfield to release Theo and Alexis quicker. Alexis scored our second after some great build up play, good width and cross from Bellerin but the touch/flick from Ozil was sublime in the build up to release Bellerin for the cross… Again Theo went near post and the lose ball was slotted home by Alexis..!.

I can understand what Arsene is saying about Ozil as he was in a few positions yesterday where he really should of had a shot yet chose to pass, he then shot when maybe he should of passed but he is such a class player it’s difficult to criticise his play but if he starts to add goals to his game he becomes a threat all over the pitch not just from his passing. If he also looks to shoot more it’s also more difficult for defenders to know what he going to do, when they know he doesn’t shoot they looking to cut out the passes if he starts shooting then the goal threat increases and so so spaces when he then has to be closed down.

It was unfortunate to lose the Flamster to a hamstring injury but Arteta did ok, yes we all know his legs are gone but he is still a savvy player and does protect the back 4…. A word for Santi as well who also made some great interceptions and some good tackling in and around the edge of our box.

I thought the second half was nearly as fast paced and as open as the first but we looked in control and the 3rd goal was again sublime, the pass from Ozil and the run and cushion header from Alexis was just class..! We were creating chances and really should have scored a few more and was a bit of maybe you score… no you score… a few passes to many but the 4th from Alexis was again just pure class, he controlled the ball from a throw in, flicked the ball around the defender, ran round the other side of the defender and smacked in a shot from 25yrds out….! Stunning….!

We went to sleep a little at the back and for a 5 min spell Leicester had a few chances to score the 2nd, Cech made a few class saves and we cleared our lines but then Vardy scored a 2nd as we seemed to switch off again.

The 5th for us was Giroud scoring a good goal after he had missed an absolute sitter from 6 yards out and I was thinking oh dear one of those days, good for him and lets hope he now kicks on as well.

A big week but a great win and now to carry this form into Tuesday night and then to next Sunday to put that lot in their place and show them they not as good as they think. Coq being fit for that I think is vital as we’ll need the pace and bite in midfield.

Lets hope for a good win Tuesday first.

Goonie- do you know BVB have not lost a home game played on a sunday in over 5 years… impressive Klop record. Tuchel needs to maintain that today

Nice one Wath. Didn’t see the game, just the goals and other chances. Glad Giroud got his as the miss was simply awful…

    7 great goals…

Mikitariyan is playing out of his skin today. Reus and auba has been wasteful especially auba. Get it together my man. We have to win this. Don’t want bayern to open up a huge gap on us.

Hi Rico Wath Ts and All. Good read Wath.

Wath, as you said in the post, there was a switch off for the 2nd goal. OX was right there in the box but it seems his head was thinking of something else. I have replayed my recording three times this morning just to see who was at fault. I am not saying he was the only one at fault but he just came in and his legs were fresh and he didn’t do much to distract the play.

Lol dna go wash your mouth out with soap. We re a decent team and how do you mean ordinary??? Are you serious? Lol

What people expecting from Borussia Dormund when they have sold all of there best Pl ayers to BM. Is watching Arsenal of old been man handle by Mancity after Greedibayo, Nasri, Toure,Cliche and Sagna. There is one of the reasons why BD couldn’t make Champions League.

We sold most of our best players but still make Champions League. Can Klopp do what AW has done so many times? I doubt it.

  7. Goonster says:

Howdy nasher 😀 we got a better team than last year plus we have a new manager. Don’t wrire us off yet. Yes bayern is way ahead of the rest of the league but one slip and we ll nick it 😀

  8. Goonster says:

It’s still early season dna give it time. Plus the players are still learning how to play tuchel’s style and formation after playing for klopp for so long. Give it time bro.

  9. Goonster says:

Reus is going no where bro. He ll end his career at dortmund or move to Spain. United is a step down no offense.

  10. Goonster says:

2.0 game set match….Hahahahah auba is the hottest property in europe right now after leaving of course 😀 lol

  11. Goonster says:

Lol was a dortmund fan before I saw Denis play for arsenal. Growing up my heroes where Stefan chapuisat Dino zorg Mathias Sammer and of course and moeller 😀 so am not jumping on no band wagon. I ve actually been to live games I ll have you know.

  12. tsgh says:

    Lol ts.
Well said ng ‘re AW.klopp is lovers make me laugh sometimes.
    He only looked after himself.
He should have sold lew instead of letting him go on a free.
The real Bvb fans were saying how As cared for arsenal unlike klopp.

  13. Goonster says:

Am devastated ts we should have dealt with that ball. Sokratis and ginter were caught napping. My God now were 4 points behind bayern and still have to visit the Allianz arena next week. Doesn’t bode well bro it doesn’t. This was the easiest game on paper. Our next 3 games are as tough as hickory. So bummed right now.

  14. tsgh says:

    Lol Rico.
Following Bvb and arsenal is like ying and yang.
Both teams rarely win on a weekend.
    Goonie.Not looking good bro

  15. Goonster says:

Plus there’s an europa league game on Thursday to navigate before the weekend’s cracker with bayern. The question is how do we stop lewa?? Do we play both bender and weigl together to stifle them?? I don’t think we ll get thonked but I hardly see a draw. God help us.

  16. Goonster says:

Fanatical arsenal but can’t stop loving dortmund maam. Have been since I was 9. My great aunt is German and she supports dortmund too. Made me love them too. Bless her heart.

  17. Goonster says:

Gee rico both teams have met 3 times in the group stages of the cl and I always root for arsenal. Gee my great aunt ll be turning in her grave. Yikes.

  18. Wath says:

Fuck me I didn’t know I was on a Dortmund blog…………..! I’ll best rewrite the post as I am sure I wrote about Arsenal.

  19. Micko says:

I can just see you goose stepping down tottenham high road in your jack boots and lederhosens Wath, talk about sex on legs !!!

I need a cold shower, nite Gooners.

  20. Marshall says:

Good to see the team finally click. Someone said with all those chances we are creating someday a team will get a thrashing. LCFC was our victims number one, hope more to come.

Glad Ozil’s heavenly flicks are recognised here. Critics are quiet about his master class display- his flick to Bellerin was levitating! Now he’d learn to be a bit selfish as he said.

Supporting both Arsenal and Borrusia Dortmund, you got to have a big heart I say.

  21. rico says:

    I follow Reading Lee, but I don’t cry when they lose… 😉

Morning Stan. I thought you were Dutch, have Dortmund switched countries… 😉

  22. Goonster says:

Lol rico like I said my great aunt is German and a massive dortmund fan. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the team they had back then. I had so many dortmund memorabilia as a child still do too.

  23. potter says:

Also at the end of the sixties I spent 2 years in Catalunya .So most unpopularly I have a spot for Barca but its wearing off.

  24. rico says:

    Feeble excuse Goonster… 😉

I used to have a soft spot for Barca too, a good friend is from Catalunya and I’ve been to the Nou Camp – but, after they starting taking our players my soft spot soon disappeared…

  25. potter says:

I saw them in El Classic in 1968 they drew but beat Real in the cup a few months later. I watched that in the bar baron I think.I remember the first half but then it gets hazy.
