Morning all.
When Leicester City owners sacked Claudio Ranieri, I kind of thought they were being cruel. Having just won the Premier League title against all odds, everything had gone wrong. They seriously missed Kante who has since helped take Chelsea to another level and neither Vardy or Mahrez were rocking as they were last season. Mind you, they still managed to hold us to a draw at the KP Stadium, and they were denied a stonewall penalty late in the game..
Without a win in 2017, the axe fell on the Italian and what’s happened since has proved what can happen with a fresh face in charge of team. Changing manager doesn’t guarantee success but often what it does do is wake up the players. This worked for Leicester who now look something like the team they were last season and should they continue to perform well, their PL status will be secure and sometimes, that’s all what matters for certain clubs.
Last night they did something pretty special too as they beat Sevilla 3-2 on aggregate to progress into the last eight of the Champions League, something this Arsenal side hasn’t done for years. Ok, Sevilla are no Bayern, but they are kings of Europe, albeit the Europa competition. But that competition is a tough one, yet they’ve conquered it a record five times, including the last three seasons on the trot. I’d love to see Leicester be drawn against Bayern in the next round, just to see how they get on against one of the worlds best.
Back to their managerial changed which as said, is working right now. The club clearly have an ambitious board/owner who wasn’t about to watch their Champions be relegated.
Meanwhile, over at Arsenal, everything is stale and my own opinion is that the players are going through a similar situation as those were at Leicester and as much as we fans are desperate to see change, our players are desperately in need of change. They need that wake up call, fresh ideas, different training, a different approach and most of all, a plan. When an apposition turn up and play, it suits the way Arsene Wenger likes to send his team out but when there’s a hint of parked bus to get through, they look lost. Totally out of ideas and harsh as it may sound, so does Arsene Wenger.
But there is hope that all is about to change as rumours are rife that first team coach Boro Primorac is on his way out of the club in the summer and hopefully a few others will follow him. Gerry Peyton, Tony Colbert and Steve Rowley could all do with being replaced and if Arsene Wenger decides he’s staying, which of course I hope he doesn’t, it’s better he does so with fresh faces and ideas around him, than those old ‘yes’ men. Even then, the big question is will he listen to any new ideas put to him by those replacing his old faithful?
However, with talk of Dick Law moving on at the end of the season too, my hopes have been seriously raised that the reason for his departure is because Arsene himself has made up his mind and he’s off in May and a whole new management team are moving in…
This could be exciting times guys, it really could…..
Sevilla won the Thursday night cup three times on the trot and then lost Unai Emery their manager to PSG.. Sold their centre forward Carlos Bacca to Milan and Aleix Vidal to Barcelona and has been proven if you sell your best players your performance drops.
Guten Morgen Frau Rico das schweinehunds……………unst back from zee eye test und found outen I am indeed Zee kraut !…………………should haben guessen housen zat a long time ago due to zee outstanding mullet das moustash !…………….sorry my mannshaft Munchies thrashed you , but I like zee arse as my zweite (2) mannshaft !
Oben das wenig Arsch ! 🙂
Morning all,
Leicester’s change of manager was not about ambition, it was about survival, something we don’t need to worry about, so comparisons of the two clubs don’t have a strong basis, Imo.
How many clubs in the world would get through to the next stage while copping Barca and Bayern every year?
The changes in coaching just must be a massive positive.
As you said on the previous post, Rico, as long as Arsene allows them do their job, and he listens to them, even if he stays, it’s a step forward.
Is it enough?
I don’t believe so as the place needs a complete fresh approach but something is better than nothing.
Morning all on this bright and sunny day.
Love your optimism Rico. New manager, new management team. Smashing!
Won’t happen the thin controller won’t be off. The staff are going because they are all universally and to a man sick of the same old, same old…….unlike Wenger they know when enough is enough and they’ve had enough.
Not so sure that a mass clear out will make that much difference to the results or playing style, well, not immediately. In the long term a new broom always takes a while to settle in. No matter where they fit in, in the pecking order, even the tea lady will have to get used to a new urn!
Sir Chips, the rug maker has his statement already written. The Ides of March are nigh. It’s all written in the stars and a new broom gathers no moss!?
All will be revealed………..very, very soon!
I`ve always considered and it`s a fact !, that the Europa League`s real name is…..The we are not good enough to be in the Champions League Cup !……………….you have to be in it to win it and fact is, we`ve not been shit enough to get in it !…………….although we will be next season !…….why do you think they put the prize up for CL entry for winning it ?, because it was a comp` no one cared about apart from Sevilla………bit like the League Cup……..weakened teams !…………..it was somewhere in between the league cup and the emirates cup in prestige before this season .
Morning Lc.
Sevilla are still a good side though aren’t they Potter? I expected them to beat Leicester over two legs, that’s for sure…
Survival can be the same as ambition Scott….
LC, I reckon CL should be for champions 🙂
Really can’t see new staff changing much myself… as wenger wont listen to them or change…
We’ll done Leicester but sevilla ain’t no Bayern, although we couldn’t get past Monaco the other yr either.
He has to change something if he’s staying Kel, even he should see that more of this crap for another two years and he’ll be battered from the stands…
Big change in staff wont make the slightest difference if Darth Wenger is still in charge !………………………..here`s the scene………………………………..AW : Welcome Pep, Jose, Koeman and Simeone !”…………………………………………….Pep: ” I have some great ideas on tactics Lord Arsene !”…………..Koeman: ” and I have some great formations your highness !”………………Simeone: ” and I have some defensive soluttions, oh gereat one !”……………………….Jose :………”I have a special Juan for you !”…………………………………………………….AW: “OK ok…..Pep, Ron and Diego, you go get the nets, balls and corner flags and then clean the changing rooms whilst me and Jose go and fiddle with his special Juan !…………..then I`ll take training !”
I prefer Baron Von Munster now Rico ! 😆
Right !………………….down zee gym to build up zee vorsprung durch technik muscles ! 🙂
I agree with ya Rico.. I just can’t see it imo. the man loves his power…
do ya think he’s going to hand over defensive duties to say keown and campbell and let’s say it has a positive effect do you think wenger is gonna like admitting he was wrong all along.
I hope he proves me wrong and does reinvent himself but in doing so he would be admitting he’s been getting it wrong and that fan pressure had made him change. You know those fans that haven’t made a thousands substitutions etc… ?
He sure does Kel.
What amazes me is some unknown ex assistant manager can be put in charge of a team and they go and do good things in a CL match.
Yet some twenty years experienced manager can’t these days….
Rico losing Bacca was always going to hurt. He’s a goal every two games player which in La Liga or Serie A is not bad going . They replaced him with Immobile who then was sent out on loan after hardly ever playing. They are not a bad team but like someone else I know they lack a goalscorer.
Stubbornness Rico… it’s been wengers problem, won’t change tactics, won’t play players who deserve to be playing, wont adopt his game plan during the game.
He’s a good manager no doubt, but the great ones know how to adopt imo.
Thanks Potter. Can think which team you mean though.. lol
Potter i Wouldn’t mind bacca for us…
Agree Kel. Sad that it’s him who is holding him back – stubborn old fool…
I like how Barca and Bayern are mentioned as worthy sides to lose to while conveniently leaving out Monaco and Milan. Whichever makes our opinions stronger though lol.
we will not go to the next stage if we drew Sevillha
Anyone can go but nothing will change as long as Wenger is still the manager – how will he listen to new coaches and he’s managed 2000 games? Am of the opinion those who are leaving are probably fed up with how tedious things have been and are happy to take on a new challenge.
Maybe rhose that left are also just bored shitless of people saying exactly the same thing 50 times a day.
I mean, 2 words says enough, really, doesn’t it??
Wenger and Out.
The rest is just rhetoric.
Apparently, the club is refuting claims Primorac is leaving.
Rumours-you have to love them.
https://www.facebook.com/footballgossipUK/posts/1597236786970649
Sky is reporting otherwise Rico. There no dominos falling. Cohesion is still tight :). Take a refund from your sources lol.
http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10802558/arsenal-dismiss-claims-first-team-coach-boro-primorac-is-set-to-quit-the-club
Scott, similar could be said about blaming Kroenke 100 times a day… lol
Bugger Marshall. Lets hope SS’s are wrong…
Hi Rico and HH.
Whether it’s Kroenke, Gazidis or Wenger to blame, Arsenal are in real danger of becoming a small, irrelevant club, and betraying the legacy and philosophy Norris and Chapman built.
Commercially, Manchester United currently rake in £150 million more than Arsenal.
And that’s with us finishing above them since Fergie retired.
This chasm will grow ever wider the more we fail because investors want exciting winning brands.
City and Chelsea will dwarf our commercial income too if it hasn’t already happened, and Arsenal don’t seem to have any strategy to address this.
None of us mind a little shrewd frugality, but to financially take yourself out of the game is sporting suicide, and leaves fans in limbo, wondering exactly what it is they’re supporting.
Hi Herb. Just had a Chelsea fan come and service the boiler They have a deal in place with Nike for next season according to him and it’s bigger that Utd’s with Adidas…
What did we get with Puma?
Instead of blaming either Wenger or Kroenke (and we know both have to go) so I dont get on the wrong side of anyone, I shall now until one has gone put it like this………….Wenger/Kroenke out !……………………..Wenger/Kroenke are to blame ……………………………Wenger/Kroenke ate my hamster !……………….My wife ran away with Wenger/Kroenke and I lost my Mental Strength…………………………….so it`s WengerforwardslashKroenke on anything Arsenal ! hahaha
Sorry, that should read £150 million per annum.
We’re being left behind and cast adrift, Rico.
The Arsenal, who Gazidis said would be comparable in size and stature to Bayern Munich. Perhaps he just meant the shirt colours.
Wenger/Kroenke buy Australia and rename it …………Arsetralia !
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3094443/arsenal-players-lose-millions-miss-out-champions-league/
Whilst we copy and paste.
I wonder if this is part of the management teams deal as well. Or even true for that matter.
I know Herb. Yet we are supposed to be moving forward….
Hi all.
Not to denigrate Leicester’s achievement but they were drawn in the weakest Champions League group in history and were again fortunate to not only draw Sevilla but to then get every possible bit of luck going over two legs including two missed penalties by their opponents. Reminds me of the Chavs run when they won it and scraped through a weak group and should have been knocked out in every round including Messi and Robben both missing penalties against them!
On the radio this morning people were using Leicester getting through as another stick to beat us with, conveniently forgetting that the Spuds got knocked out in an easy group and went on to lose to a Belgian pub team in the Europa!
Good stuff Bob !………………………where has the media stick to beat the Spuds gone ?…………………..was there ever one to start with ?
That’s a good point Bob, the thing is a lot of the criticism of Arsenal is actually coming from Arsenal fans on social media…
Wengers future is the only story in town, probably the biggest story of this season. It will rumble on until Wenger makes a decision and even afterwards, whatever that decision be…
Arsenal seem to be on a PR spin campaign, but where did that Primorac story come from? He’s kind of been under the radar more that even Kroenke, so the fact that you never hear or read about him, then bam, he’s off to Turkey, makes me think that there’s more than a little truth in the rumour…
I’ve not read anything, but is there a rumour going around concerning Dick Law then Rico? Afternoon btw…
Afternoon All….
Afternoon Rico and All
Let’s be fair…We want change
I could’nt give a monkey’s about the Transfer Window
that can wait.
Yanks,Youth,Scout’s,Brick’s and Mortar and Pie’s
it can all wait.
Living and Breathing football is what we do.
Nothing other than The Arsenal is important
to The Gooner’s.
It’s all about Arsene..Now.
Sevilla…I could be wrong But,
This is the best season position wise
in the league for a long time,
above Ath/Madrid.
Afternoon Kev, Fred and all.
Lg Kev re Dick Law.
It is Fred re Wenger, hope he makes the right decision for the club, not himself…
Rico, of reckon if you counted the anti Wenger posts and compared them to the anti Stan posts, you’d not throw that old chestnut up ever again 🙂
Morning all.
Today’s telling me Arsene is staying, and staff changes will be to show us all he’s “changed”.
This of course will be followed by tomorrow having me think he’s going lol
Can anyone here see him walking away from a 2 year contract extension worth 18 million….I can’t.
AW off, Sanchez off, clear out another 6 or 7 high earning average players.Bring in Koeman and Lukaku.
There is a notion that because of the protests that AW has decided to stay another two years but with a break clause after one year and he is going to change his ways.Do me a favour he’s too predictable and killing the team I love.
I know I said a while back he was 99% sure to leave.Well that came from his friend David Dein.
All this uncertainty has had a dramatic effect in the dressing room and on the pitch.
The man is holding the club to ransom and I don’t think he realises the damage he is doing, which is obvious by his pre and post match comments.
I’m on about yours alone Scott. Then add in a few others….
Put like that Micko, no. It’s a hard life isn’t it. Mediocrity is a big money spinner…
Kelsey, you should have kept your little gem quiet, looks like an egg on face scenario is unfolding… 😉
I still believe in Kelsey`s little gem !…………….no reason to stay, not tactical, not in interests of club, not for fans, not even £18M reasons for him to stay !………………….he will be gone, but my main concern is who above him at Arsenal ( in board terms) knows anything about about anything football ?…….Gazidis only because he is a Mansoiur City supporter !………………………Sir Chips ?….Sir Someone Else ?……….fcuking no way, they are House of Lords types a slap of mayonaise from death by cucumber sandwich asphixiation !………………………………..how about once listening to the fans !
I don’t Lc, I think he’s staying put. Oh well, I’ll not know what to do with all my spare time… ?
More exciting action in 7 seconds than I`ve had from my wife in the last ten years ! hahaha
https://twitter.com/90min_Football/status/841976587125956609?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Second guessing..Or am I?
Arsene has said more than once.
It’s the club who will decide if he stay’s.
The board chooses a manager. If I ask you, is everybody in your company behind you? I promise you I will find somebody who isn’t.
‘Your boss chooses whether you are here or not.
Win win situation then Rico !………….if he goes we get excited about who comes in and what they do in everything from backroom to transfers to tactics !……….and if he stays we can moan to our hearts content !…………………………and my god will there be some moaning when the inevitable groundhog choke happens ! 🙂
Arsene talks in riddles Fred. He’ll listen to the fans, but they won’t be the only thing that makes him make up his mind. Then he says it’ll be a decision made by him, and the club…
Rubbish, it’s his decision imo, and his only….
Doesn’t sound anything like a win win situation to me Lc. I’m sick and tired of moaning…
Then stop 🙂 🙂
As much as I believe he should go, I won’t let it ruin my day, every day.
It’s not about passion or how much someone cares, it’s about the fact that life goes on, guys, and don’t stress over what you can’t control.
Honestly, Wenger staying can hardly be the woplay st thing that could happen to us as individuals, is it?
Sorry scott but bollox! What’s going on at Arsenal gets right under my skin, day in and day out…
The fact that you don’t stress about it says a lot to me…..
I’m so stressed out I’m lying down.
Best way to de-stress Adam… lol
Catch up tomorrow guys.. night all.
Arsenal is a huge part of my life. When I meet with mates/family we talk 80% football. And if arsenal is messed up I avoid football talk, hence making me ‘anti-social’, then I’ll end up alone since HH won’t be there anymore then I get depressed lol…
I need a hammock.
Rico, wow.
So you have free reign to ridicule people when you see fit, after going on the march at every slightly controversial post I make.
Excellent work.
I really couldn’t care less what it says to you as I have a family to feed, business to run, relatives battling cancer and so I use Arsenal as an outlet.
If that doesn’t meet your lofty standards of what Arsenal should mean then bad luck!!
Disgraceful comment!
Wenger Out protest will go ahead even on the day Rocky is Remembered.
They refuse to stop for one day-the day.
That just shows what fukkwit fans the club has.
Of course, it’s us tourists who don’t know what it means to be “Arsenal”.
FFS!!
Excellent 1st half from Monaco.
6 months ago, nobody could tell 1, 2 or 3 players in the Monaco squad. They re now in the last eight in the Champions League and I’m quite sure, that everybody can tell 1,, 2 or 3 players in this squad.
It’s not an expensive team. Everybody said PSG won the League without problems. But Monaco is in the Champions League, 1st in the Franch League and in the Cup too.
For me, it’s a deep and quality work from the manager. The manager built a very good and a strong team.
Now I can add Monaco to a list of teams worth loosing to in UCL round of 16 🙂 . Heavens forbid if we faced any of the BBM next season!
BBM- Bayern,Barca,Monaco!
Pep the master in Europe hahahahahaha
Seriously, one over rated manager.
He gets next year before an truly accurate call but he’s want to make some massive improvements.
Like I said a while back……………..how good really are the likes of Pep, Conte, Jose……basically anyone who managers BM, RM, Barca, two Mancs and Chavs when you have unlimited funds !……………..let`s see them do the business at an average club like our`s…………………………..Koeman, Pochetino, Simeone……………..managers punching well above their weight with small funds compared to the afore mentioned !…………………give me any of the latter 3 before the formers !.
Marshall, cop urself on mate, none of that lot play Thursday nite football.
Scott, oddly enough your the only one on here who keeps bringing up tourists lol.
Wish my missus was sick and tired of moaning as much as I am of her moaning !……………….best moanager I know !…………………CL, Olympic, Title wining standard………and she does it without money !………………….Ozil would cower in the corner like a wimp after being berated for his lack of tackle ability if she were Arsenal Moanager !
ahahaha
Cornwall`s full of tourists !……………….only been here 26 years and still one myself !
Talking of tourists !………………..is Gnarley over here yet ?
I`m off to annoy the missus by snoring in her face !…………..she will then moan in the morning about the damage my face did to her knuckles !
Thought you called them emmets in your part of the world Le Coq !
Not true at all, Micko.
It’s thrown up subtly on enough occasions.
Ok Scott, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt seeing as your about as subtle as a broken leg !
Nite Gooners, keep it real.
Hahaha
Fair call, Micko, but rightly or wrongly, I stand by what I say and I don’t hide, so people know where they stand with me.
What are people’s thoughts on the Wenger out protestors refusing to back down on the “Remember Rocky” weekend?
It’s in poor taste, at best, and downright disrespectful to the man at worst, imo.
Rocky passed on the 31st so surely it would be more fitting to celebrate him at our next home match vs City???
I wonder what Rocky would think of Wenger’s bizarre team selections or general ineptness against good teams???
Anyways the more traction the “wenger out” protests get the better in my book.
I’d fly Kev’s plane towing the banner myself if he’d let me….?
The so called “fukwits” are probably genuine die hard Arsenal supporters that have had enough, not wenger apologists that blame all and sundry for their cult hero’s monumental fuck ups. They also want a proper manager to be given all tools Wenger has at his disposal, someone with a bit of gumption.
As for European pedigree, Wenger’s truly is pathetic if he had anything about him he would of won a European cup with the Invincibles.
You definitely can’t teach an old dog new tricks, Wenger has been finished as a good manager for several seasons. Arsenal can change all the staff they want but as long as he’s the manager we will get served up the same pathetic shit.
Let’s just pray it’s his last season, it’s really tough being an Arsenal supporter with the “has been”at the helm!
Allegri in!
Emery in! (Not Dick)
Tuchel in!
Simeone in!
Koeman in!
LC your earlier comment about Pep, Conte and Jose…..
All three piss over Wenger as a manager imo…Conte is going to win the PL after one season in charge and Jose won the CL with Porto!
Don’t tell me Wenger nearly signed Mbappe???
Our football has really deteriorated over the last decade or so….we are so off the pace with the predictable shit we serve up nowadays!
Cannot for the life of me think what is the common denominator is…..I mean we’ve spent loads, have a huge salary bill but it’s the same shit being served up!!!!
Jardim in!
I’d like to see Wenger manage RM, Barca for 2-3 seasons then we can really tell how good those ‘overrated’ managers are. Doubt he’d last a second season between managing big egos and giving excuses to a board of perfectionists not the a**kissing lot he has here.
Poch, Simeone are perennial overachievers. Too bad we can’t have Poch cause Spuds are on the way. Simeone,Allegri or Ancelotti in!
The time of the season where we pick our fantasy manager is here!
Lee, it is the weekend of the City game….if I hinted at otherwise, it was by mistake.
Morning all.
I’d like the see the great, wonderful Pep build a side.
Funny how people will rain in arsenes parade by telling us how he inherited a great defence. Then tell us we should’ve for Pep.
Of course, Pep built it all, hey?
Hilarious.
Lee, as for “diehard” fans-remember that next time you take the piss out of Untold Arsenal.
I get taken to task each time I have a crack at Le Grove, yet you all are happy to put shit on Untold.
Funny, that 🙂
Marshall, Poch showed his true colours last season by stealing 3rd from the jaws of 2nd.
But then, Spurs finishing top 4 is huge so maybe you’re onto something bahahahahahahahahaha
Morning Rico. Perhaps we could look seriously at Jardim. Seems quite proactive.
Morning Adam and all.
That was a bit of a shock re City, first time Pep has gone out at this stage isn’t it?
Unlike Wenger of course, he’s used to it….
Morning Marshall. Are you based in the U.K.?
Allegri for me too Lee.
He had Pogba playing great didn’t he, now look what Mourinho’s done to him….
Rico. It was a surprise but Monaco came up with a late burst of energy and MC had a few players well off-colour. I can see a few bob being spent at season’s end.
7.14 Marshall. Perhaps that’s the very reason Wenger turned down so many ‘offers from big clubs’ to stay at Arsenal. Perhaps that’s an admission that he knows he wouldn’t be able to compete and he’d be sacked with his regular top 4 achievement…..
Allegri seems a serious bloke and a very good manager to me too. We could certainly do with some progression as we have seemed rather static in so many ways to me, for a long time.
Adam, I watched a lot of the game and thought Monaco were really quite lively in attack. Agree, I too can see a few millions being spent in the summer because that’s what ambitious managers do. I wonder if he’ll stick with Stones…
Scott, you are going to undermine Poch’s achievements by judging him on the last 3-4 games of the season while they had been doing good the other 30+ games? Well, choose to highlight those 3 games I’ll pick the entire season.
Since with our budget anything above fourth is an achievement for Wenger, I reckon 3rd was huge for Spuds – they must be 6th in the money league.
Even this season they have been doing good, and showed they are not a one man team with Son, Alli and their wingers getting a fair share of goals. They’ve been consistent on position 2-4 (our level). I bet you’ll see his true colors more when he finishes above us.
Marshall, you continuously smash Wenger as a failure, yet laud a guy who’s side we beat home last season?
Nearly all of the managers we “should have” got fail to outlast Wenger.
They also fail to outdo him.
Klopp is on fire, right?
Koeman.
Laudrup.
Hell, even Mourinho got a run.
I guess if people keep throwing names up, they’ll get it right at some point.
It’s easy for us all, me included, to say he needs to go, but actually replacing him with someone better isn’t as cut and dried as all the experts believe.
Rico. I remember when Ottomendi arrived he was considered by some to be La Liga’s best central defender though I would have thought Ramos and Godin myself. Different countries, refs, culture etc have rather eroded that belief. Defending seems like a lost art really. Who are the best defenders in World football these days?
Ask Simeone.
Morning Adam, at the moment no am gallivanting in the yank world in Boston. But am from Romford (Newham). I intend to come back home once am done with my scholar endeavours here. We could email cause I’d like to meet HHers when am back – especially ride Kev’s Rolls Royce cab.
Rico, Wenger has a safe haven and a comfort zone at Arsenal. He wouldn’t wonna ruin that.
Marshall, the way the Totts fell away last season was funny but until then, they looked like the only club who would catch Leicester and funny enough, this season they are the only club with any kind of chance of catching Chelsea although I believe the latter will prove too strong.
I’d love Poch at Arsenal….
Brudder just think we used to play wonderful attacking football on a regular basis….sick to death of this shit that Wenger serves up!
First time Pep’s been knocked out at the last 16 stage in 8 years…..meanwhile at Arsenal.
I don’t know Adam. Mourinho likes to defend… 🙂
Seriously though, is there a lack of top notch defenders or have many managers turned to the ‘let’s attack’ style of football, neglecting the coaching of the defence. Seems Wenger has being playing that way for years and others are the same.
Shame really as Wenger’s success was built on a great defence but now look at us…
Agree Marshall and all the time he finishes in the top four, he’ll be considered a success. But that’s on paper only, the reality is his football is very much dated…
Scott, yeah, Wenger is a failure. So you’re saying I shouldn’t laud Poch for his achievements cause he finished a point behind us? And I clearly stated why I see that as an over achievement. – I’ve just recalled they were ahead of us ’till the last game when they bottled 5 against Newcastle.
By outlast you mean 20 years? Nobody is doing so in modern world.
Outdo? – when has he ever beaten Mourinho? Can’t recall a win against Spuds, Chelsea got even and City beat us once and we are meeting in the cup and it’s almost obvious who the winner is.
We have only one win against top 6 – our supposedly title contenders. Even with his arse on fire Klopp managed to beat us. Again how are they not outdoing Wenger?
Defenders aren’t allowed to defend properly now due to all the diving bastards.
It really is that simple but that’d be Arsenes fault, surely lol
16 March 2014 was the last time we beat the Totts. Rosicky with the only goal…
Rico, maybe it’s a north london thing – to bottle 🙂
Marshall. Not too far from me then. Newham I mean.
Lee, I can’t help feeling that we have arrived at this destination through default rather than design. Watching us play against BM, it struck me that, after all these years we have a midfield of Coquelin and Ramsay or Xhaka. Yes, I know that Santi has been injured but he was always going to be injured.many of us predicted that when Wenger let Jack go on loan. Quite obviously, permutations of those three are never going to be enough for an elite club. A manager walks so far down a single road that he just can’t admit that he took a wrong turn. This is perhaps when a new hand is required at the wheel.
Typifies arsenal.
https://twitter.com/kylemartino/status/831974692001046545
🙂 Marshall, a nasty bug to catch…
Let me know if you want to switch any email addresses as I’ll sort it for you…
Adam, great! By fall I’d be there. Hope Wenger wont!
Thanks Rico, Can you also give me Stan’s K email add?
I have a few pleasantries I wonna send him. And a tutorial on how to cash in to Usmanov.
You mean Autumn Marshall… 😉
That twitter link typifies Arsenal but this season they might come unstuck as all the other clubs bar Utd are out of Europe too….
Whereas often they are not…
Ha ha Marshall, I think we’d all like Kroenke’s email address, and Wenger’s….
Rico, you 0853. They’ve caught up!
Morning all.
A new hand at the wheel sounds good to me………Wenger has done 2000 games of the cabbie knowledge but cant see the road for the streets !…………….we need a fresh Uber driver !
🙂
Lee…………………anyone but Wenger at the mo`……………….as I said , I just wonder how good these “top” managers would fair at an average to small club without the funds……….both Poch and Koeman have done it at Soton, Spuds and Toffees …………………
Wenger/Kroenke Out !
Someone Decent In !
Can a poison email to Kroenke actually kill him ?………………….if only !
LC, Kev is after you-never mention Uber lol
Overtaking perhaps Marshall. I fear our trip to WHL in a few weeks…
I meant the dictionary meaninhg of Uber, Scott !……………..I mean I dont want to be found on Bodmin Moor with a giant Pasty extruding from my arse ! 😆
Uber ; denoting an outstanding or supreme example of a particular kind of person or thing
Will Kev` believe me ? hahaha
Stables to clean ! 🙁
The last thing you will ever see is a shovel full of horse shit, LC 🙂
Rico, am more afraid if we get to FA final and meet them. I’d never recover a Spud lifting a cup at our expense.
Almost sunlight here. Time to sleep for me.
Me neither Marshall, just hope Chelsea beat the in the semi’s, or City beat us… 😉
LCM, maybe Kroenke would love your horses. Trade them for Arsenal Holdings plc. equity, then you can become a majority shareholder. At-least Rico got your email address!
LC, I thought tourists in the West Country were known as grockles? Whereas in our village, despite having lived here for 23 years, we are still and always will be, incomers!
Wenger, who is French, will always be a foreigner! No matter how much of an Anglophile he may be! As I will always be an Essex boy or Londoner depending on your interpretation.
Oh to belong somewhere! I wonder if they’ll turn London Colney into a warden assisted protected accomodation for ex Arsenal has beens?
Gloomy here and chilly. Yesterday was so nice.
Morning all.
Not sure Wavy !……………………….thought Grockle was a Devon saying as I know the Cornish use Emmet !……………………either way Im` a Grockle or an Emmet !…………………………..mind you there`s more Grockles and Emmets down here than natives so I feel safe ! 🙂
I`d be no good, Marshall, I aint got a pot to piss in !………………………..but as Scott says, I have a lot of horse shit, so my plants do well !. 🙂
Now 6 mile run !………………….run Grockle run ! hahaha
Morning all
To be honest I have lost all interest in this Wenger will he stay or will he go saga.
A club steeped in history has sold out to a non football non winning majority shareholder who doesn’t invest in the club, just takes money out.
We are club second to none steeped in history and he is ruining it.He delegated men who haven’t got the balls to address the dictator.Had sad is that.
To the point, and on point, Kelsey.
Sad situation and it’ll take some fixing.
Wenger has a system of playing and he buys players of a reasonable standard and tries to mould them into his style.Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The belief of many of his detractors is that a new manager would alter the play to suit the players . Could be right but maybe not , until it happens nobody knows. There is also the feeling that a comfort zone exists within the playing staff that oozes down from the board room to the manager and onto the players. It appears that there is no pressure to perform any better than the last 16 / 4th place positions and anyone who has been on a workplace floor will know that a group of blokes together will always take the easiest option rather than push for greater output. e.g. Go into a shop and ask for something special and chances are you will get the reply “” If it’s not on the shelf , we ain’t got it “” said safe in the knowledge that they are getting paid on Friday .
The perception is that the whole thing has got stale , the board hide behind Wenger and that is why he is paid so well, apart from keeping the gravy train running , he hides them from the direct abuse that he is paid to take. He is the Aunt Sally put up to take the flack and the detractors know full well that they are unlikely to get Kroenke out , so they target the next best thing and hope for a change for better or worse. Kind of like Brexit really.
Interesting Potter, but surely players are pumped up for a game !………….I can only speak for myself and know that any game I played in I gave 100% and to have a rousing crowd must make your adrenalin flow to such an extant that you are naturally up for it !
Obviously this interview was before it went pear shaped(again)…………..at one point Wenger say`s we are on an equal level again ( financially)…………really ! 🙂
Last bit is funny !
Potter
I get what you are saying but in his mind he still relives making TH14 into a world class player from a winger and conversely DB!0 was going nowhere in Italy until Dein bought him (not Rioch)
Our scouts need lining up on a wall with AW in the middle. They watch players time and time again, then our great negotiation team sometimes does a deal, and then AW wants that player to play in three different positions.
I doubt we will make top 4, but by the way I don’t agree with it as in theory you could be 24 points or so worse off than the champions, but monwy rules all all the TV rights go up so if we were to lose that 30 million,no one would blink an eyelid.
If 10000 season ticket holders say enough is enough, and many do already, the club have three times as many people to replace them.
7 players need their contracts sorted out in the next 15 months, but we wait and we wait. It’s a bloody joke.
Just watched the Thierry/Pep interview and you know what stood out to me ?………………………..when Pep says it`s not him, but his wins ( his previous trophy horde) are down to him having amazing players !………………………..now I`m thick, so what is it that gets you amazing players unless you can produce them ?…………………………….I have a feeling that it`s something that Kroenke wont out do the big teams !………………………………..rhymes with honey ! 😆
What I did like about Pep was that he indicated that he adapts his playing style according to the opposition………..horses for courses !………….this is not some kind of spark of genius , but a common sense attitude and aproach, something I have said for years and no douibt most of you have said as well !………………..football really is a simple game and that has been said for years aswell……………………….it`s simple that having the best players makes it easier…………………and if you dont , you simply work harder or keep it simple and be disciplined and organised………………………all that without managing for 2000 games ! 🙂
Can’t disagree Kelsey , the scouting the training , the tactics , the system needs rooting out completely. I was answering the position that Scott and LC often take up on the Kroenke issue and although I don’t like his influence on the club I wonder just how far a more proactive board could push him . Sir Chips , Lord Carperight , Ken Friar are to my mind are all cowards , they push Wenger to the forefront and have him dealing with things that he should not be concerned with. The board having no shares in the club should have no interest in the share price unless they are receiving bonuses on profit and therefor should be pushing for on the field success but seem content with the status quo . To my mind they are the ones we should be hounding , the three that sit back and let their dirty work be done by others.
Cant say I trust anyone with a “Sir” in front of their name, Potter…………………………this mistrust probably started at school where all my teachers were called it !……………………..especially Sir Michael the Caine………………………………..I got it a lot !………….not a lot of people know that !…………………………once I got it for being the ring leader of a chewing gum chucking revolt !……………………….” Oi, you lot, stop chucking those bloody spearmints !”……………..and cained another time when we busted the balloons at a school party !………………..” all you had to do was blow the bloody balloons up !”
Rico, it’s Theo’s birthday and you haven’t said a word. Wish him, I know ya want to 😉
LCM, I’ve checked, thoroughly and you are indeed an emmet! Not a grockle! Now, I may be making it up but, I thought an emmet was a slang expression for a woodlouse, however, I’ve probably got that wrong too!.
Have to say searching around for the answer was much more satisfying than griping about my arse…enal! So, ta for that.
I did see it was his birthday Marshall, I called him this morning to wish him a good day…. 🙂
Afternoon guys…
It’s definitely Grockle in Norfolk and Guiri in Catalan.
That was recorded in Arenys del mar which is where Cesc Fabregas was born.
Never did really get Sangria…
Committing such a huge proportion of your time and money, via a season ticket, isn’t something that those occasional visitors to the Emirates really comprehend whilst they sit on the season ticket waiting list. It might have felt like a great idea a few years ago, but I’m not so sure how many of those on the waiting list would take up the option if offered a season ticket now…
I know of at least two people who have season tickets, but never go, they sell them to friends on a season long deal. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if anything up to 20% of season tickets are not used by the ticket holder.
As for the waiting list itself, the fact that the club doesn’t boast about how long it is and how long it takes to get an offer of one makes me suspect that it isn’t the be all and end all, it once was…
I’d rather go to away games anyway and accessing those tickets isn’t problematic if you know where to go…
Right now Kev, I’d get myself right off that waiting list if I was on it. No way would I pay mega money to watch the garbage our lot serve up….
The garbage should have been thrown out a long time ago rico.
Sure should Micko, especially the oldest one… ?
You read my mind lol !
Often Micko, often…. lol!
Never did really get Sangria
Ah but the Cava from San Sadurni about 30 kms away.?
Cava, now you’re talking Potter. My friend from Barcelona stayed with us a few months back and she brought over a lovely bottle…
Potter, good posts.
I’ve blamed the Yank because he puts no pressure on Arsene at all, and to me, that’s the biggest problem.
If he did, and Arsene still didn’t produce, he’d have removed him, so while others love asking me whether or not Stan selected the side and Buys the players, two ridiculously irrelevant and just stupid questions, they miss the fact that he sets the agenda for the club, and is the single person who decides whether or not the manager is doing his job, and another offer of extension tells us he’s ecstatic with Arsenes performance.
Then, they say if Arsene was decent or had pride, he’d step down if he didn’t agree with the clubs ambition, or lack of, all the while telling us Ivan and Bould arent allowed to do their jobs properly due to Arsene being a dictator, but never asking why they don’t leave for exactly same reason Arsene should.
Overnight, I copped the silent treatment-schoolyard tactics that was just hilarious-mainly because I raised a series of questions that nobody could answer, and rather than admit to being wrong, they just ignored me and hoped I’d go away-they don’t know me too well bahahahahaha
One example of a question I asked, and did not a single response to, was why is it ok for people to take the piss out of Untold Arsenal, yet I have a crack at Le Grove and have plenty tell me I shouldn’t criticise fellow Gooners!!!!!!!
You just have to laugh.
I will respond to you, Scott……………………………..I dont know or go on UA or LG, so have no idea what the fcuk you`re talikng about !…… 😆
Do people on here go on them sites ?………………..is that where they are when I`m talking to myself on here ?…………… a bit like.Home Alone ! hahaha
Lc. Le Grove is in the main, anti Wenger. untold Arsenal is very much in favour of Arsene. He can do know wrong in their eyes, and like him, they blame every fire performance on either the ref, the way the wind blows or the length of the grass…. lol
LC,
Home Alone-is that still going 🙂
My point is most Wenger haters are so single minded that no debate, no matter how much logic is behind it, is accepted or even acknowledged.
LG are just nutcases-every post and every comment is anti Wenger.
Dare disagree and they just boot you.
Untold is pretty much the opposite.
Rico, you’ve just proven my point lol
You give LG a glancing description, then go into detail of Untold and yes, you take the piss out of them.
But aren’t they Arsenal diehards who should be respected?
I’m always told that about LG and only one of those groups is ardent in their support of all things Arsenal.
Take it as you like Scott but there’s only one way to say anti Wenger.
It’s easy to say Pro Wenger 🙂
it is, but I didn’t and that was my choice….
Night guys.
Try the online gooner forum if you want to find anti Wenger they are the ones with the banners and they make Le G seem like pussy cats.
There’s a gathering storm………..
LG or Arsenal up the Arsene?
Been down the pub! One too many cheap white wines!,
It’s dark out and not warm!
Nite nite…Andrew Meil calls.
Potter,
Most groups are heading that way, unfortunately.
I can understand why, but still, anyone with a different opinion is being shut out and the irony is people call Wenger a dictator, yet wish to dictate the theme of discussions.
There always must be room for differing opinions, but it’s rarely the case any longer.
Maybe you get the “silent treatment”, because people are sick of you,r confrontational, provocative, often derogatory tone and use of words, towards people who have their own views, that just don,t coincide or conform with yours,
maybe the “difference of opinion” as you put it, is in the minority now, and it,s just hard to take, and thats where the chip on your shoulder comes from.
you tend to be very defensive with your own opinion, or should i say defensively opinionated,
You say the diehards should be respected, but so too should the travelling fans ,who are sick of Modern day Arsenal, who travel the length and breath, who feel the need to march as no other option is available to them, I,m sure they,ll remember Rocky in their own way, but to call them “fukkwits”, for trying to bring much needed change the club, is in very bad taste, “Crass”, actually.
Pat, I don’t know you and don’t really care what you have to say lol
As I say, the Wenger haters see everything their own way, and you’ve Simply show that once again 🙂
The lack of respect towards Rocky and his followers by you and those who agree with you says it all.
Be proud.
One last thing, Pat, how about contributing here regularly?
Your last two posts have simply been written to try and criticise me.
Surely you have more than that to offer.
As I said, I don’t know you, so I’m not sure why you’re on this personal vendetta but I suggest you give it a miss and start adding to the debate!
Seems the organisers of the protest v Wenger have agreed to a resolution that doesn’t conflict with the Rocky rememberance day, so hats off to them.
They’ll still protest, but it will be done in a way that’s respectful and won’t interfere with the planned walk to pay respects to the great man.
Fantastic result and again, well done to them.
Why is it a lack of respect? People want change, Stan’s going nowhere, people want another manager to get a crack with ALL the resources le failure has at his disposal!
Wenger’s pathetic excuses have all run out, he is the reason we are serial bottlers. The pathetic record in Europe! The pathetic PL attempts! Our stats against any top team are fucking pathetic!
I’ve had enough of him, the sooner he fucks off the better….
Do you honestly think Rocky would like what Wenger is doing with Arsenal right now?
NO he fucking wouldn’t and nor do the fukwits that travel all over the country supporting their team. If they’re fukwits what are the Wenger apologists??? I better not put or I’ll get banned!
The more momentum and traction the “Wenger out!” movement gathers the better.
People need to take the king Edward’s off their shoulders and embrace inevitable change.
Allegri in, embrace change and let’s not shit ourselves about life after Wenger.
Pat, out of interest, did you used to post regularly on here but under a different name? I ask because your IP address has popped up on here many times before..
Morning all..
Do you reckon Allegri would make the move Lee?
Lee, as always, when you rant and rave, you conveniently ignore the fact I want him gone and I’ve said that often enough.
Doesn’t change the fact that I believe there’s a right and wrong way to go about it.
Wengers apologists-where are they?
There are none here, just a very, very few who refuse to blame the man for every single thing that goes wrong at the club!!!
Rico, Pat really has it in for me-not sure if I upset his previous alias, but damn….
Morning all.
What do you expect Scott when you call Arsenal fans ‘fuckwits’ – yet you tell us all that Wenger deserves respect….
I happen to believe they have the right to protest because Arsenal are a club in desperate need of change…
Rico,
Have I called anyone on here anything like that?
No.
Have others on here used similar expressions about not on here.
Yes.
I’ve read similar to that 1000 Times about Wenger but that’s deemed ok?
Please explain the difference and maybe I’ll get it.
Who can we insult, and who can’t we?
Wenger isn’t on here either Scott….
Mmm.
Strange on here of late.
Morning Rico. Whatever is or isn’t happening I would think that it’s time the fans might be informed. Surely they deserve to know?
Me ranting???
You are taking the piss right??
Get off your high horse take off your Wenger tinted glasses and remove the sack of spuds!
What’s going on on here is down to what’s going on at the club. It’s in a mess and plenty of fans have had enough.
Again, Lee?
Love it lol
Morning Adam.
You’d have thought so, it’s not like we have much to lose by being told. Wenger saying he hasn’t made up his mind yet makes me sick!
To be fair Lee, Scott has often said he wants Wenger gone….
Rico, we’ve all had enough.
No fan is happy, but that’s not the issue, imo.
The issue is who people blame.
The clubs going down the crapper, and I doubt anyone’s saying otherwise-well, not many, surely.
Not all Scott, there’s still a large number of fans who think Arsene Wenger is God and he should stay until the world ends.
The man is a terrible manager these days and yet has everything he possibly could have to make our club a much better one….
I’d absolutely love to see Allegri or someone if that I’ll come in and kill it with us.
I’d be the first to admit to being wrong about Stan being the problem, and I’d be ecstatic to do so.
The decision needs to be made asap because if it isn’t, and Wenger wait until a seasons end before announcing he’s leaving, we won’t have the pick of the crop to choose from.
Regardless of how shabby we are ATM, most managers would love to take over the job, imo.
Calling travelling fans fukwits and also slating a fan holding up a Wenger out banner….. I find that unacceptable and narrow minded.
Fair call, Rico, but that number is diminishing quickly.
I dare say some or most of those would blame others at the club and like to see Wenger given a chance with new owners but that’s merely my take on it.
Wenger is the problem and has been for ten years!
I’m off to find a brick wall…..enjoy!
Allegri in!
Lee,
You just can not ever admit to being wrong, so deflect attention.
I don’t know what the numbers are, but all the time their are fans blowing smoke up Wenger’s chuffer, he’ll think he’s loved and stay….
I agree Lee, my only gripe with Kroenke and the board is their toothless. But they don’t pick the team, sign the players, drop our best player at Anfield, make the same old subs at the same old time, overplay Santi, Iwobi etc etc etc, the list is endless….
Morning all,
Rico, what do you reckon on Southgate leaving out Theo and Rooney? As an Arsenal fan am happy Theo will get more rest.
Am glad Gareth isn’t afraid to drop Rooney as he feels his current form doesn’t cut it and there are no favourites.
Deflect attention???
I’d like to see Wenger given another chance… in another club!
Rico if my IP pings am in Benghazi, no need for alarm that’d be just one of my VPNs 🙂
Morning Marshall. As a general illiterate I have to ask what a VPN is and does? 🙂
Morning Marshall, I’m surprised re Theo but not re Rooney. Brave call and good on Southgate I say. Like you say, Theo will get a rest, not that he’ll need it with so few games to go… 🙂
Ox is injured yet he’s in the squad which is odd…
Re your IP, Kenya… lol
Well Rico, it’s perhaps time the board showed they aren’t toothless then. 🙂
Rico,
Does Arsene care what the fans think?
Does Stan?
Ivan?
As long as they keep paying…
A board that does what’s right by the entire club-that’d be refreshing.
What am I wrong about? You slagging off Arsenal supporters??
Deflecting my fucking arse!
Ok, Lee, to confirm your opinion, I have never said I want Wenger gone, not even if Others confirmed it lol
Is that better?
Now you can keep on saying it and I’ll just politely nod and agree.
Of course, I could add Untold are also Arsenal fans and you insult the shit out of them but hey, that’s quite obviously different lol
Have you been drinking Scott?
Morning Adam. Haha VPN is a sweet application that conceals the location of your IP address.
Haha Rico, am switching to North Korea!
Chance would be a fine thing Adam… 🙂
I want my very own VPN then Marshall. 🙂
Scott, I think Ivan cares, but his hands are tied imo. The rest, no, it seems from the outside they couldn’t give a toss about the fans, but they’ll try and tell us otherwise…
That’s an odd question to ask Scott Lee, it is evening over there.. Me, I’m having Cava on my cornflakes, not that I see that as being a problem…..
Lee, “I was wrong”.
3 simple words 🙂 🙂 🙂
Rico, maybe, but will we ever see for sure while Stan and the board are around?
Ivan may well be brilliant at his job but it’s a shame he won’t get a chance to show it.
Rico, it’s beer o’clock somewhere hahahaha
If I start agreeing with you, Lee, you know I’m drunk 🙂
Wrong about what, you? No I’ve got your number.
Ivan can’t do his job properly because the old poke nose that is Wenger, probably interferes Scott…
Lee. How many times do you need people to tell you I want Wenger out?
When will you take yes for an answer?
Does my accent confuse things lol
I don’t understand the ‘I was wrong’ comment either Scott??
A board that lets Wenger have total freedom, a £200m plus annual salary budget and a massive transfer pot!
Sound like terrible bosses….
He still fails time and time again, blames all and sundry, yet the problem is that he’s done as a manager!
Take a leaf from Enrique and do the right thing.
I know you finally want Wenger gone but the masking of Wenger’s inadequacies behind Stan I find pretty strange…..
Sounds like the ideal job for me Lee…
I could muck things up equally as well as Wenger has….
Lee, I’m really struggling to understand why you continue to tell me why Wenger should go, as I keep saying he should!!!!
You don’t need to convince me!
Lee. I have never masked them, I’ve openly admitted them.
Most disagree with me when I say I don’t believe Wenger was ever a good tactician.
How is that masking things?
All I’ve ever said on a Stan is I hold him ultimately accountable because the bastard demands nothing from Wenger.
He’s the one that makes Wenger so untouchable, said if anyone is guilty of masking the mans weakness and inadequacies, it’s Stan, surely.
Lol
Lee has no response bahahahahahaha
Cranky bastard 🙂
I don’t think there’s anyone on here who believes Wenger was or is a good tactician, one would have to be blind to think otherwise.
He did reply…
Rico, plenty disagreed when I’ve said that-the majority, in fact l, believed he was good but has lost it, but my point remains I don’t mask his weaknesses.
I don’t think that’s been the case Scott.
New post up now.
