Morning all.
The boys have landed in Baku. Mkhitaryan is absent as we know but Danny Welbeck has made the trip booted, suited and no doubt hoping to play one more time for Arsenal before he departs for good. For nothing. The last in a long line of players who the club have managed dreadfully in my opinion. So much money has been lost through stubbornness or sheer neglect. Disgraceful way to run a club, especially one which has always been about self sustainability.
Anyway, as said, those days are over, or least that’s the plan.
This season has been perceived to be the most exciting in years. Not by me but by the media but that’s only because the race for top spot went down to the last day as it did when the Martin Tyler ‘Aguero’ moment played out.
But neither of the above, or any league endings have been exciting as it was in 1989 as the only two teams who could become champions on the final day went head to head. At Anfield where few clubs win, let alone by two clear goals.
We did.
Happy 30th birthday Arsenal. Enjoy.
Morning (early afternoon) 30 years ago seems like yesterday, well slight exaggeration more like last week. We’re do the years disappear to.
Frightening Mog where the tears have gone. I still remember Whelan hopelessly appealing in vain. Thanks rico for bringing the moment up again, that and Alan Sunderland Late in the cup final are two moments always to be treasured.
Trouble is, all we seem to have now is memories. Very little success for us is recent and even those FA Cups were a bit of a huff and puff.,.
Morning all…
Who knows Danny might get on and become a legend . Stranger things have happened , he might even earn a contract offer.
Who knows indeed.
I hope he does. I like him very much as a player and quite sad to see him go. This might have been a great season for him but for injury.
Charlton promoted to the Championship, will they want to buy Kristian Bielke , on loan from Arsenal? Apparently he’s had a good season in League One, maybe we should keep in in our squad as a centre back back-up.
I read he’d had a really good season at Charlton, in midfield too rather than defence. So he and Chambers have a decision to make, as does Unai Emery.
He just might be the defensive midfield back-up to Torreira. Good night Rico. 😴
Or the replacement for Xhaka Cicero, not that I’ve seen him play. 😜
New post up now
