Happy St Totts Day fellow Gooners…..

It took all season, but we got there… AGAIN!
Ha Ha

3rd is not enough enough Stan, Ivan and Arsene…

Now that Champions League is secured, go and sign the players to keep us involved in the fight for the title on the last day of the season, not just fighting for 3rd with the annoying neighbours!!

  1. Thorny says:

Yep 3rd is not enough and we dont want to be in this type of battle anymore.
Get the players you need Arsene and get some solid coaching staff that know how to WIN titles.

  2. rico says:

    Hi Thorny,

great result, great day although the performance was dodgy… Now is the time to build on what we have and make us a much better side….

  3. Adam says:

Thorny. I agree, but it feels as though we won something today. I sit here with a glass of Cristal and it is just a release from all the crap and tension we have endured this year. I shall start thinking about next season tomorrow. Hi Rico.

  4. Scott From Oz says:

3rd isn’t enough, but its something to build on.
    Spuds,better luck next year…..yeah,right.
Just watching Bartons rant…….Tevez shoves him,he lays on a lazy elbow, then tries to headbutt Kompany……the man’s a psycho.
On Kompany,he said its not about money, its about the dream of winning titles for Citeh, dreams the players had as kids.
    Really???
How many kids NOT living in Manchester would dream of playing for them lol???
Some were hoping we would sign him last year!!!!
Anyway,Wenger should be on the pc shooting off emails as we speak to place offers for players.

  5. rico says:

Hi Adam, totally agree, today was about getting 3rd, tomorrow is about looking forward and building a squad that is much stronger than the flimsy one we have today….

  6. Goonster says:

Now my world is at peace. Fergie got a taste of his own medicine and we finish above the spuds. Can life get any more sweeter? Come on you fucking gunners.

  7. Scott From Oz says:

Rico,I reckon the basis is there for a great squad.
Just a few tweaks and we can compete, but the tweaks must be of top class.

  8. Scott From Oz says:

    I’m off to bed.
Not sure if I will sleep though.
If I do,sweet dreams will be had.
    Night all.
    Go you good things.

  9. DutchGooner10 says:

THANK YOU RICO THAT’S A REAL JAW BREAKER RIGHT THERE!

This season has all been about climbing the mountains to see lowlands. At least we can put a flag on ……….. ehh?

Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. Thanks Google. See nobody gathers knowledge about left overs from people who got first.

Like Kim Kardashian nobody knows what you’re famous for.

  10. Caknuck says:

I’d rather see Chelski lose and not make the champions league after all the money Brama has thrown at trying to win it. Then see Tottenham struggle in the champions league and kill ALL their chancesin in the EPL. If they had been playing in the CL this year, they woulda died out ages ago.

  11. markzever says:

was surprised to see the post……stinking spurs…I wonder where adebayor would be wandering next season…….not happy Nasri got the league though

  12. Joaquim Moreira says:

    news:
Manchester City are willing to guarantee your pass of Hazard. The value that the British want to pay the player Lille is around 43.5 million euros, the second advances the newspaper “The Sun” on Sunday.
It all started with a message from the Belgian international in its Twitter account: “Two more games with the colors of Lille.” Several clubs showed their early interest and, in addition to the Citizens, also Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal are in the race for Hazard. Mancini himself, City manager, was pleased with the 21 years. “I like the Hazard. He is young and could do great things in our team.”

  13. rvpgoldenboot says:

was almost dieing there bt not as bad as Wenger was the guy needed that win as much as spurs wanted us to lose but i gonna ask them who is loving now?

  14. KENREN MARVELLOUS says:

I was humiliated when Manchester city lifted a trophy, also when i saw Nasri and Clichy euphorically lifting the trophy, I was ashame of my club, because This two guy’s left the club for the fact that they were tired of trophy drought, now they Have lift it. On the other hand i’m still happy for them. Please Stan, Ivan and Arsene bring in top player’s for we to be proud of our club we are tired also. We cant be fighting for third and fourth every season. UP GUNNER’S, KEEP THE FAITH, LIFE.

  15. charybdis1966 says:

And a Happy St Totteringham’s day to you Rico – what a season it’s been.

Us Gooners have been put through the wringer today.

  16. Thorny says:

Yeah Rico thats well said. Today was about getting 3rd and like Adam I will be off for a drink in a minute (hopefully to find a gooner, or a couple of spuds lol) because the stress is gone. And tomorow is where we must start to think about building and winning.
I wonder what Stan K is doing right now?

  17. rico says:

Not surprised you can’t sleep Scott…

You enjoy Thorny, whether it be peace with fellow gooners or a laugh with the swampies, just know that 3rd cannot be taken away from us…but 4th can 😉

  18. charybdis1966 says:

Yeah, not so bad Rico 🙂 We can relax this week, and laugh at the Spuds squirming.

  19. Leo says:

Now that we’re 3rd. Let’s go support Chelsea next Saturday. Don’t get me wrong. I hate Chelsea, but I hate SPUDS even more. It would be nice to see Chelsea become Champions, and kick SPUDS back to Europa League.

  20. cin says:

Unbelievable come back. Super. Arsenal deserve this or not ? But they got it for fans. It is a good lesson for Arsenal. Arsenal should keep their best players and add some more in early. They we can compete next time.

  21. rico says:

Exactly Chary, it’s not perfect but at least now everyone can go off and do what they need, no qualifying for the CL will be better – now we just need to pray that Stan/Gazidis and Wenger just tweak here and there…

Do that and this time next year, it could be us lifting the PL Trophy….

  22. DutchGooner10 says:

Thorny Cheers mate, on next season. Hope Wenger listens to Justin Timberlake instead of a bloke called Hillwood: R U READY? I’M BRINGING SEXY BACK.

  23. agirlagunner says:

Adam, you know me so well. Ahaha. I was shoe hunting just now. It’s a toss between something frivolous and well… something frivolous. 🙂 🙂

Dutch, I wouldn’t mind the chavs winning so much (eeeek) if Torres were to score!!

We’ll be so much better next year. 🙂 rico, what did Robin say??

  24. DutchGooner10 says:

Me neither Princes sqeeky bum time for tinny totts it is. 😉 Indulge yourself a bit buy 3 pair. 😛 Go on you know you want to.

  25. Billboy says:

Today’s game seemed to be a perfect representation of our season. A struggle, not playing that well, a result in the end that we all feel should have been better.
But WTF, let’s celebrate St Totteringham’s Day and let them and tha Chavs worry about the 4th qualifying spot. I can’t make up my mind about that. I thought Spuds would be better because of all the cash the Russki has thrown at it but after hearing hapless Harry saying if he got third he would really be cheering on Chelsea. What scenario can i concoct where neither of them qualify. Chelsea losing to Bayern and Spuds messing up the qualifiers I suppose. That would be bliss.

  26. ktr7 says:

Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie has dropped the biggest hint yet that his future may lie away from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Van Persie, 28, has a little over 12 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners, and had refused to enter talks over a new deal as he prefered to concentrate on matters on the field.

And while the Dutchman has confirmed discussions will take place next week before he links-up with the Holland squad ahead of Euro 2012, he refused to commit his future to the club.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-2 win over West Brom, a result that clinched third spot in the Premier League and a lucrative Champions League place next season, Van Persie, said: “We’ll sit down next week. Arsenal is a massive club, whatever happens I’ll always love this club.”

  27. rico says:

Nothing to convince me agag – just nothing – either he is playing with the press or he’s off…. 🙁

  28. Rokabox says:

    Congratulations and well done,
Their reserve goalie is defo a gooner, who cares!?
Shity deserve it, they been the best team imo.
Money did help, Blackburn and Chelsea did it before, united do it
    all the time! Fact!
It’s been unbelievable season, great entertainment/torture
till last minute. glad I shared it with the HH gooners.
RVP probably leaving, not a good vibe he gave on that iv.
Hope we build on from here, get in few n get rid of many.
    Happy days

  29. devilgunner says:

GOOD EVENING FINE GUYS AND CHICKS OF THE GUNNERS WONDERFUL FAITH.

    3rd spot is there.

    49 goals ehhhhhh.

And with a team that is certainly the worst(as many seem to think) in the last twenty years we are still above the best Spuddy team in the last 50 years.

  30. ktr7 says:

maybe rico but rvp’s vibe today suggested the contrary.just like last year with nasri i believe his mind is set on leaving and it will be official next week.his departure if it happens will be the most painful ever…

  31. DutchGooner10 says:

Well don’t read too much in one sentence. And if you do take it this way; Robin wants big signings done before the week ends. The board/Wenger have knowledge of his demands. Fail and the only handshake that will be done is goodbye. No ifs, No buts. He has lead this team to a position where powers that be are fortunate to work from. I expect nothing else from leadership in that sense. He protects his interests, shares the fans grief/grudge and shields his manager from future criticism.

    But that’s how I take it. Aren’t ya glad I’m a HH’er??

  32. ktr7 says:

Ha ha…remember red nose say this…
    Ferguson after Arsenal game:
“WE COULD EASILY HAVE HAD MORE GOALS BUT TO BE HONEST I DIDN’T WANT TO SCORE MORE THAN EIGHT”
They have lost the league on goal difference…classic!!!!

  33. agirlagunner says:

Boo, KT! I think he will stay. 🙂 He’ll lead our title charge next season. He loves our club and we love him. 🙂

  34. rico says:

Kt, i won’ believe RvP is gone, until he is gone – i reckon the deal was done, pending CL footie….

DG – of course we are all gald you are an HH’er 🙂

  35. ktr7 says:

He could also be playing smart not to reveal his hand to pivotal contract talks.Thinking of it he’d be a bloody fool to say anything else….

  36. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico 😉 I think Robin knows blogs pick up on this faster than print. Heck to a growing degree they dictate it’s content. He wants his warning splashed out in headlines. Either way it will force change, the wrath of our legion would be out off control if Robin got sold cuz they can’t back ambitions.

  37. devilgunner says:

Happy???? You actually ask me if I am happy???

I am over the moon……finishing above the swampies is a great feeling. I have just had a round on FB contacts who support the scum. You know……just to make sure that I rub it in.

  38. ktr7 says:

Get ready for exclusives/inside info/’my mate works at Arsenal’…nonsense from tomorrow especially regarding Rvp.Also wasn’t Mvila supposed to be waiting for us to qualify for the CL ?

  39. agirlagunner says:

That was a rhetorical question, devil. 😛 😛

KT, we deal with that every year, doesn’t bother me anymore. And Citeh were lucky to win it… They have been amazing in spells; and like us disastrous in some games, too. Next year, we’ll be playing to win. That means our Board should get buying…

  40. DutchGooner10 says:

Ktr A lie travels the world, while truth puts on it’s shoes. I will not be fooled by backhand whispers somewhere in a dark alley by a guy in a black trenchcoat wearing shades.

DEVIL RAISE MY GLASS TO YA. CHEERS COACH.

  41. ktr7 says:

To challenge Agag we need alot of investment which i dougt we’ll get going by what Wenger has been saying of late.Im afraid we’ll most likely be in a CL place dog fight next year…and its likely that Rvp sees it that way too hence maybe why he was coy in that I/V.If we don’t do something soon he is off.

  42. ktr7 says:

Also Wenger should seriously sort out our defence.Conceding 49 goals for a club of our size is a disgrace.

  43. devilgunner says:

Its how the midfield defend KT………sort that out and the defence will concede less.

  44. agirlagunner says:

Well, we do need to invest in quality, KT. And the ones we have need to step up. I still feel that Citeh were lucky to win today. The title could’ve just as easily gone to Fergie’s lot. I don’t care what Na$ti says. He knows he is a bit player there, and getting on mostly on other players’ brilliance. And the mad money of some Arab. He’ll always be reviled by AFC fans. Plus Robin should just look to Cesc to see that moving isn’t always the answer. 😉 Not that I ever want Cesc to do poorly.

  45. devilgunner says:

For the spuddies who visit this site…….remember that when you won the league TV was still in black and white………enjoy seeing what the majority of you have never had the pleasure of seeing in real life.

  46. devilgunner says:

That was the only Vid I could find of the spuddies winning the league.

Needless to say……….of our wins there are many in colour.

  47. DutchGooner10 says:

Rokabox Robin will be aware he will not arrive as captain somewhere else. TH14 and Sesc had both been that for several years when they left. I think he likes the taste of it but then again reading the menu is not the meal.

JM IF he goes I guess you can keep us informed cuz Spain would be his logic destination. Anyway happy St Totteningsham day to you. 😉

  48. Goons_with_Guns says:

Hope that Clichy, Na$ri and Viera winning with Citeh shows that A) Wenger needs to go upstairs to be our CF B) bring Pep G as Manager and Bergkamp as Assistant Manager and C) that you have to buy the title nowadays, not be so f**king frugal about it! COYG!!!

  49. ktr7 says:

I know Devil. That rotating triumvate of midfielders is a joy to watch when it clicks with Arteta acting as the glue but when our first choice midfielders get hurt we get so exposed.

Arsene has always maintained that the players have to take responsibility by themselves but when those players are mostly young you need to give them specific tactical instructions like other top coaches do. Thats why Ramsey looks so clueless most of the time and needs abit of guidance unlike the likes of Arteta.

I know Arsene is obsessed with total football but we don’t have the personell to execute it.Even Barca have Busquets who always holds his position to prevent them from being exposed.

  50. devilgunner says:

But all I can say is that for the last twenty years the swampies have had a stronger club than AFC. With PROOF.

  51. Rokabox says:

    thanks dutch,
so wilshare won his bet eh?
shame that hughes survived, and bolton went down…..
and why nobody in the media is calling for Daglish head!? is beyond believe!
thanks rico you have been a great host……
    enjoy your evening gooners
    catch you other time..

  52. bob john says:

Having suffered average keepers like Ruddy & Hennessy play blinders against us, how nice of Fulop to help us out! God know we needed it! Who know s what RVP will do. He’s basically has 18 months injury free. Prior to that we have paid him to be injured and score the occasional worldy. Whether he stays or not, we need to stop teams getting at our defence so easily. No one wants to or is capable of making a tackle in midfield. Arteta’s injury almost cost us big time. We have to have him and Jack back!

  53. rico says:

    devil

‘But all I can say is that for the last twenty years the swampies have had a stronger club than AFC. With PROOF.’

    Are you sure??

  54. devilgunner says:

    Of course I am sure.

They have been propping us up for the past twenty years. It takes a mighty strong club to keep AFC above itself for such a long time.

    😆 😆

  55. rico says:

I think I am nearly done for the day, it’s all been a bit too much 😉

Hopefully AK will be back soon and share his travels to the baggie land….

Take care all and rest well – might be back in a bit, but then again I may just fall alseep….

    😛

  56. DutchGooner10 says:

So you were throwing a hook Devil to see if anyone from the muddy waters was peaking?? You’re a guilty pleasure if so. 😉

  57. devilgunner says:

I know that some of the spuddied look at this site DG mate. That is why I posted it 😉

  58. devilgunner says:

Good night lady. Have a good rest. you deserve it for entertaining us with posts for all this time. Hopefully now we will all chip in with articles to give you a restful summer.

Watch your inbox in the coming three days. Article nearly ready.

  59. DutchGooner10 says:

    RofLOL

Glad Rico saved the best for last. Wouldn’t it be nice if all Arsenal bloggs put out their St Tott’s Day banter if the last season whistle has blown?? That should twist a knife me thinks.

Off for a bit back soon. If anyone leaves Catch you on the rumour mill. Been a splendid company.

  60. rico says:

Bless you devil, thank you i hope so too…

Thanks to you too DG – it just had to be done 😉

  61. Adam says:

We are the first club to get 3rd place after playing the entire season with one effective striker. Must be some kind of achievement.

  62. devilgunner says:

And I am off too. Its been a great day today.

And bdw….in our country today we were celebrating Mother’s day.

So HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of your dear and departed mums plus your wives. Rico and AGAG….if you have your own children Happy Mother’s day to you.

Remember………all of us are a reflection of our mother.

    Good night fine folk.

  63. Scott From Oz says:

Up for work…….only seems an hour or two back I was awake watching the mighty Gunners roll into 3rd spot.
It’s going to be a great day,but a bit more sleep would be nice.
    Morning all.

  64. Scott From Oz says:

Hats off to one Arsenal legend in Pat Rice…..may he enjoy a well deserved retirement.
We should all offer a massive thanks to Yossi,as well.
He’s been great for us,and if things work ouht,he’d be a great player to be added fulltime to our squad.

  65. stevepalmer1 says:

Great post Rico a bit pissed but, if our players had the stamina of Your housers they would win the premier every year

  66. Micko says:

Scott, you got the whole summer to sleep, don’t be such a wuss.

Just watched the Barton incident again, he must be looking at a 10 match ban, what a plonker !

  67. stevepalmer1 says:

Well done yesterday and today Scott you were a stalwart mate.
And well done Pat Rice an Arsenal man through and through don’t think you will like the season ticket prices though 🙂

  68. Charlie George aka AK says:

Following on from what KT & Rico were saying earlier.
The way Robin waited for the rest of the team to leave the pitch. Before he returned alone, to salute the fans, just made me think that he was saying goodbye…
There was almost a sadness in his eyes…

Those tight cnuts may have ‘done it’ again.

  69. allezkev says:

    Can’t say that i enjoyed the game…
I didn’t really celebrate any of our goals.
Just couldn’t relax as our defence at times was shambolic again.
Jenkinson and Coquelin both started the game like a bundle of nerves.
Jenks isn’t pleasing to the eye, but he is effective and gets stuck in.
Coquelin got better the longer the game progressed.
At the end of the game, i’d say he was our most effective midfielder. Winning tackles. Losing tackles then tackling back to regain the ball.
Coq was the opposite to the ponderous Song.

  70. allezkev says:

Beniyoun must have covered every blade of grass.
If Rosicky is worth a contract then Benny is certainly worth one as well.
For a small man Benny is tenacious and detirmined in the challenge. Even to the extent of getting up against much taller defenders and fighting for clearances from Sir Chesney…
And what a hero Sir Chesney has become.
Playing vital games with the aid of pain killing injections…
What does that say about Fabianski, Mannone and Almunia.
well it says what many of us haver been saying for awhile.
Shame it took so long for the penny to drop…

  71. allezkev says:

    Gervinho was a right dogs-dinner!
Beating defenders skillfully before delivering awfull crosses…
His pace was a constant worry to the West brom defence, but his final ball… 🙄
Gerv has all the makings of an enigma.
But we must give him time and so lets see where he is in 12 months…

  72. allezkev says:

Santos got caught out a few times as he turned like an aircraft carrier, but he made some vital interceptions.
Despite many fans’ reservations about our chunky Brazillian, i like him, he is a much better player than he is often given credit for.
And he does pop up with the odd goal…
    He’ll do for me!

  73. allezkev says:

I was a little suprised that Arsene went with Santos in front of Gibbs?!
I like Gibbo and he showed his continuing maturity when he came on and bolstered that side of the team with some intelligent interceptions and last ditch clearances.
Yep, Arsene definately got ‘that’ substitution correct…
Gibbs for England in the Euros?
    I think he has a good chance…

  74. allezkev says:

The revelation of Sir Chesney’s injury could go some way to explaining the looseness of our defending in recent games?
Did the fitness of our goalkeeper affect the way our centre-backs performed?
They definately seemed to lack a bit of certainty when dealing with long balls into our box.
With Sir Chesney unable to dominate his area and being less mobileit may have left oVerm and kozzer looking a tad exposed?
    Just a thought???

  75. allezkev says:

Now we have to wait and hope that wenger can whet Robin’s apertite with a couple or three tasty signings.
And Gazides has to make him a serious financial offer.
You know, the kind of offer ‘big clubs’ make.
As opposed to the empty claims of ‘those’ who brag about running a big club, but in fact run that club like it was a middling club!

  76. Scott From Oz says:

    Good call AK.
In the end,we got the job done.
On RVP,I guess he wanted to make sure that of he’d does leave,he’s had a decent goodbye.
I’m hoping he stays, confident he will but if he goes,we need to get Giroud,Huntelaar or someone of that ability.

  77. allezkev says:

Gotta say that the Hawthorns is a totally different stadium, to the ground i remember visiting in the early 1980’s…
It looks as if it’s been totally re-built.
A nice ground all the same….
Outside of the stadium, oh dear….
The only element of excitement was a McDonald’s
    How the others live eh?

  78. allezkev says:

    I love the away games.
Real hard-core fans, a great atmosphere.
Mind you i was a total wreck at the final whistle.
I simply cannot enjoy games like that.
    Too stressed out…. 😕

  79. allezkev says:

Scott, if Robin leaves, then there is no doubt in my mind, that Podolski, on his own, is not enough…
it’s a minor miracle that Robin stayed fit for the entire season.
Can he do that again if he stays?
I think we need another striking option as it is IF HE STAYs…
If he goes, then imho, we’ll need TWO striking options…

  80. allezkev says:

And while Gazides is at it, he’d better sign up Theo…
He made an instant impact when he came on…

  81. allezkev says:

Just seen West Brom’s first goal.
It’s impossible to tell behind the goal, but that was an unacceptable error by the linesman.
In fact Jones, the referee, had a pretty poor afternoon.
    Poor poor officials….
A season to forget for all of them i reckon…

  82. Scott From Oz says:

AK,its nearing 11 am here mate, confusing,I know. I’m halfway through my work day.
    Enjoying every minute of it,too.

  83. allezkev says:

Scott, it must be lunch-time over there now…

Me? My head is still buzzin’…

Just been looking back at yesterdays comments from during the game.
Scott buddy, you do love a row don’t ya…. 😀

  84. allezkev says:

That’s the good thing about looking back at comments, after the game.
The change in atmosphere from joy to suicide and back to estacy is so bloody funny…
    We’re all sodding mental… 😆

  85. allezkev says:

When i think about it, it cost me about £200 for me and the Misses to go to West Brom, and it was agony!!!
I left home at 6.15am and returned home at 11.30pm.

    Did i enjoy the game???
Only at the final whistle and the trip home, the rest of it was purgatory…

So will i be going to an away game next season???

    You bet. It’s great 😛
