Morning all.
So here we are then, it’s the 1st July 2017. The transfer window is officially open, not that that’s really bothered certain clubs, certainly not Everton who are spending plenty of money, no, investing in their club. I don’t know how many players they have signed but they’ve pipped us to the signing of Henry Onyekuru that’s for sure, if we were interested in him in the first place of course. If so, it says a lot about Arsenal’s ‘pulling power’ these days doesn’t it. He was for sale at a bargain price really and there was a time when he’d the typical kind of Arsene Wenger signing. Still, when he’s hitting the headlines in a big way, we’ll probably hear from Arsene as he mutters the famous words, ‘Yes, I liked him and could have signed him, but……….’
Anyway maybe that gives us hope that someone better, or perhaps more experienced is a better description, is on his way to Arsenal. That player is (YAWN) Alexandre Lacazette, as according to David Ornstein, the usually reliable footballing man when it comes to transfers. The deal isn’t over the line just yet but apparently it won’t be long before it is. Just a few minor details are to be ironed out. If this deal does get done, we’ve certainly signed a player who knows where the goal is. Yes the PL is very different to France but on the European stage, the Frenchman scores goals. His goal ration in the French 1st division was bettered only by Cavani so I’m quite looking forward to watching him rip the top English League apart.
That’s enough positivity from me for one day eh……
Last night Serge Gnabry got one over his old Arsenal team-mate as Germany beat Spain in the under 21 World Cup Final. The result means nothing to me personally but but for so many it will and not just for footballing reasons. Hector Bellerin did a generous thing, something not many other footballers have done as far as I know and that’s with every minute he played during the tournament, he’d donate £50 to the Grenfell Tower victims. £18,000 he raised in the end and while it might not seem much compared to his Arsenal earnings, let’s not forget he’s not even English. If every top footballer in this country followed his example, well, it would soon add up to a colossal amount. We shouldn’t be surprised y young Hector though as this is not the first time he’s acted for charity. Good lad.
The media are currently enjoying a Cecs re-run as with every day that comes and goes, another headline appears linking Bellerin with a return home to Barcelona. Expect for The Sun who just a few hours ago have run with a positive story and that’s about how the young Spaniard remains committed to Arsenal FC. So he should be as he’s not long signed a new long-term contract and it’s not like things at the club have suddenly turned sour is it? What’s happening now, was happening when he put pen to paper yet if we are to believe Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal are on the rise, certainly when it comes to the quality on the pitch. No squad players will be signed he said, we have enough and we do. First team players only he hinted which is good, that’s what we need. Time will tell if his words are just as misleading as Wenger’s have been over the last few years but imo, it’s desperate times at the club and they have little choice but to move this summer in a way which might just get a few of us back onside before the season kicks off.
After last night’s match, Hector Bellerin said:
I have a contract over there, I have to report back for pre-season and now is the time for me to just enjoy with my team-mates in Spain for a few days. Enjoy time with the family, have a little break and see each other next season.
Another Arsenal player whose spoken about his future is Alexis Sanchez who just a day r so was quoted as saying he knows where he’ll be playing football next season but just as Arsene Wenger did, he wouldn’t reveal where that is. I think he’s staying as long as Arsenal prove they are serious both in the transfer window and on the pitch this coming season. Darn it, I’m being positive again!
Similar with Mesut Ozil who despite being linked with a summer exit, has just renewed his deal for an executive box at The Emirates. Plus, no other club seems to want him which isn’t really surprising after last seasons pathetic showings. I know he wasn’t alone but this class oozes class, skill and a has a wonderful footballing brain. He should be doing a lot more than he does! Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another whose contract needs sorting out and regardless of how much Liverpool offer for him, if they want him of course, I wouldn’t sell to them at any price. Heck I wouldn’t even give them Walcott for free!!
I expect very little form Arsene Wenger as far as the standard of football goes because he’s far too stuck in his ways to change but if by some miracle we do have a good summer of transfers and the players signed are big enough and strong enough to do it for themselves on the pitch, perhaps they’ll be a glimmer of light for a better season.
But I won’t hold my breath…..
Pure optimism there mate !!
Thanks Rico.
Hope you are right about Alexis and if you are then you will be the new Ornstein !……………..Ricornstein ! 😆
Love Bellerin, says, conducts and does all the right things for such a young man, parents must be so proud of him.
All that positivity ……. and then the last line 🙂
Haha, good post rico, morning!
Morning all, very positive Rico, I’ll have some of what you’ve been taking!!
Bellerin is an example to many young players and if one day he does go back to Barca, although I’ll be sorry to see him go I’ll wish him well!
I hope the talk is true that only first team players are on our sights, if so and we can capture one or possibly two more (exc Lacazette) I’ll be pretty happy!
Anyway enjoy your day all, I’ve got a roof to tile!
Bellerin showed his class. Think Sanchez will leave. Damn good player but if he doesn’t want to play for us then he’d best leave whilst we can cop a bag full of cash for him.
Morning rico and other posters.
Nice, positive opener rico, which has made me decide that I’m not going to rain on your parade with any negativity today?. In fact I only need to hear Wheelchair has gone, and it would be almost perfect.
Well that’s two in the bag, well almost, one to go if Arsene sticks to his ‘three’ signings, but hopefully he has another couple of good targets in his sights.
If Alexis chooses to go, to be just another squad player at Citeh, it says a lot about him. Although he was very cuddly with Pep after the last game against them. Oops! Starting with the negativity, time I went. I’ll get me coat.?
Morning Rico and all. Excellent post. I hope Hector stays. The club hold the cards with that one and if he looks at others who have trod the same path he will find broken careers along the way.
This Bellerin nonsense is really tedious, Hector is under contract, if Barcelona want him then ask £75/£80 million, if they pay that then put up the asking price to £90 million, do a Lyon on them…
Personally I steer clear of all the media rubbish, it’s put out to unsettle the player and drive a wedge between Hector and the fans. Don’t waste your time reading it, unless it’s on HH. ?
I notice that Arsenal have upgraded their website. Not before time!
Maybe Walcott and Giroud would go on loan to Bournemouth in preparation for their final exit as AW is too emotionally attached to both players… He’ll rather prepare them for life outside Arsenal like he did with JW(hopefully)
White rabbits and all that. The lack of news drags on.Even Ivans q&a added nothing that was not predictable or previously leaked. As usual we will need to wait until something is officially announced.
On another subject are there any legal, eagles out there who could advise on probate matters.
I dont care if nobody likes him, but he`s talking from the same hymn sheet as me !…………….

Strong rumours about that Arsenal are considering a €28million bid from Marseilles for Olivier Giroud…
Would Wenger allow Alexis and Giroud to leave in the same window?
Evening guys, any news…
Lc, I like Webeck’s response in that Ornstein tweet…
See that Rico !…………………….I dont think that is the real Danny though !……….a fake Danny !………..we need a fake Arsene !……………probably be better than the real one ! hahaha………………………..right !………..I`m off to give myself a drastic hair cut using the doggy clippers, a number one up the back and sides !…………..woof ! 🙂
The question is Change?
Any info?
We can all talk to the cows come home
But Arsene has got us by the short and curlys again
It really is a joke what gazza has told the gooners through
The Q & A bollocks The geezers a snide money grabber like the rest of them.
Any top player with half a brain will see or smell the bullshit
Coming out of our club now
Sorry but I can’t go along with the optimistic brigade anymore
Off for a grilled sea bream and beer night
Goodnight guys
I did wonder Lc.
Most of what Ivan came out with was utter garbage Fred, on that I totally agree. But, he might be being honest about any signings we are to make… If when the TW closes, nothing has changed regards to the quality we sign, then yes, Ivan can go with the rest of them imo…
Trouble is, with AW holding all the cards and control, Gazidis has one of two choices I guess. Go along with it all or walk away….
Enjoy your meal….
Apparently we’ve made an offer for Jorginho, albeit it’s been turned down…
Who is Jorginho?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorginho_(footballer,_born_1991)
Now, Charlie George, that would be a signing!?
Morning all…. Day two, some papers are reporting we have a fake Arsene Wenger who’s preparing a125million pounds bid for Mbappe … Is it ever going to be possible with the original Wenger to have both Lacazette and Mbappe in the same TW?
Morning Wavy, Bondex and all.
If we sign Mbappe and Lacazette in this transfer window, I think I’ll need serious medical assistance… lol
Morning Rico. Now that would be an interesting scenario wouldn’t it? 🙂
Morning Adam. Mbappe and Lacazette or me with medical assistance? 😉
All of them Rico. 🙂
🙂 Adam
Wonder if there’s any truth to the Ox turning down a new contract.. Shame if there is. Still, replace him properly and I guess it matters not..
I sincerely hope it’s not true….. Won’t want to see him turn up for another PL team.
Morning All
Morning Rico
It’ll be a shame if Oxlade-Chamberlain leaves, especially as I can see Barcelona agitating to unsettle Bellerin for the foreseeable future and Ox did a great job in that position.
But if he is adamant that he wants to join Liverpool, then so be it.
I’d hate to sell anyone to Liverpool, a club I detest, but I’d tell them if they want him that badly that the price is £40m + £1, otherwise do one!
As for Gibbs and Wilshere, as far as I know neither have had a contract offer, so it seems that the club are letting their representatives simmer for awhile.
Watford and Newcastle are seemingly interested in Gibbs, and that tells you where his level is, Wilshere did ok at Bournemouth but despite watching him last season, at no time did it I ever think that he’d return to Arsenal and make a major impact. If Ozil was leaving then I think Wenger would have sorted out a deal for him by now.
Is Jack Wheelchair going to be fit enough to sell, during this window? I suspect not. I don’t think the club will offer him anything until he proves his fitness. Assuming he makes a come back then I should think form will dictate whether he stays or goes. Imo.
Afternoon all. It’s turned out fine again! Two days running!!?
Afetrnoon all.
Lovely day and have been out for a pasty here…………..another place I would move to and surprisingly not as expensive as some of the places down here like Rock, Padstow, St Ives etc` !……………….there`s a place for sale overlooking the river and I could buy it if the missus would, but she wont !……bitch ! hahaha
Mbappe been bought for £125M yet ?
https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/sites/default/files/photos/lerryn-river.jpg
I could live there except, I swore fifteen years ago or so that I would NEVER GO TO CORNWALL EVER AGAIN!!
Every time I have been there, holiday ing, it has rained and not a gentle misty drizzle but torrents, torrents of the liquid. I reckon you have photoshopped that sky into your picture! It’s always grey, thunderous and tempestuous down Cornwall way in my experience?
Just watch Poldark tonight there won’t be a bit of blue in the programme, just unremitting grey!
Lol.
Wavy………..as a van driver for the last 14 years delivering all around Cornwall I have knowledge of where it rains most and doesn`t rain much, its like I`ve done the knowledge like Adonis Kev, but instead of ripping tourists off ……….I make love to them ! hahahaha
So to get you to move down here I will give you free advice without any hanky panky inuendos !……………………….1) Perranporth never rains when I deliver there…………..could be a conspiracy by the clouds there !
2) South Coast for the milder weather and North Coast for the surf.
3) Avoid anywhere between Bodmin and The Devon Border like the plague…….being the higher ground and stuck between two moors ( Bodmin and Dartmoor) thats where the mist hangs !………it`s been there since I arrived in 1991 !
4) It`s sunny today !
PS……………………and was yesterday aswell !
PPS…………….keep away from St. Just and Pendeen !…………….the inbreds…..sorry locals …….are a rough looking lot…….tattoos, scars, beards, pirate looking scum who would use your face for decorating their knuckles !………………….and the men are nearly as bad !.
You make sound so attractive, I’m almost tempted!☺️
Chile have done all but manage to score…. looks like Germany are to sweep up all the summer trophies… ?
Evening guys, so Lacazette is in London for a medical and we’ve agreed a deal with Mahrez.
Ooooo how exciting… lol
Hi Kev, it’d be a great shame to lose Ox. Right now we have three players who could all leave for free next summer. Terrible stuff from the club to allow this to happen.
Happy Mustafi ?
If we get Mbappe, mahrez and Lacazette plus keeping Sanchez letting the OX leave might not look too bad
Morning all…. Day 3,two more players in the bag?
Morning Bondex, all.
Not just yet, could all be garbage…..

New post up now.
