Gervinho stunner! Wilshere & Oxlade-Chamberlain shouldn't even be considered for England……..

Well well, what a goings on in the world of football yesterday, first up was ‘Arry who was set free from court by a group of Spurs fans men and women of the jury and then next up the England manager Fabio Capello resigns over the John Terry affair! Actually, it didn’t involve an affair this time did it, this is all about his comments allegedly made to Anton Ferdinand.

Anyway, the crux is, England are now without a manager and the man the FA really want to take over is free to take up the post, if of course Spurs allow him. I did think Arry’s few words after he had been cleared were very emotional, nearly in tears I was as it seemed he was thanking all his clubs fans for their support – it almost sounded like he’d already announced he was off…

The day’s event were nearly as exciting as watching a double dose of Coronation Street on a Monday night…..

Then of course there was all the activity on Twitter… Ok, I’ll spare you that! 😉

If you haven’t already seen the winning goal from ACON’s semi-final, it’s worth a look here: Gervinho

Finally from me, Sunderland sneaked past Middlesbrough after extra time in the FA Cup replay last night, so they now await our arrival on February 18th. Their ‘star man’ of the night Stephane Sessegnon, hobbled off towards the end so I hope he’s out for the PL fixture this weekend.

Moving onto Steve’s post for the day:

Morning Gooners,

I wrote this whilst waiting for the Liverpool v Tottenham game to come on when Gareth Southgate predicted his England team line up for the Euro competition.

A huge surprise for me was seeing Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain in his line up.

Not for one minute do I doubt they both of these players wouldn’t do a good job for the team, it’s just that Jack has not kicked a ball for us all season and we are over half way through this current campaign and it’s looking likely that we won’t see him before the May either…

Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain has started 4 games has not completed 90 minutes in any of them and he was still included!

I know this his just his predicted selection but I really worry that those who matter will be thinking along the same lines as Southgate.

Personally, I think it’s time for Arsene Wenger to come out and state that both these players would not be available until both players have proved their reliability and endurance for Arsenal before risking them in any other competitions.

I am one of the most patriotic people but I would view a statement from our manager as a way to safeguard Arsenals future youth players. In my eyes there are many teams and an abundance of players to choose from, all of which have played all season and worked hard for the chance to play in the Euro’s so why try and force young Arsenal players before they are ready or 100% fit?

One omission from his team kind of surprised me, and that was Theo Walcott. Remember when he was included in the England team before he had even made his debut for us – and at the same time an in-form Darren Bent sat at home?

Who the heck is the spotty kid sat next to me???

What was all that about?

The poor guy didn’t even get to play, despite all the problems England had up front, so what was the point?

Arsene Wenger has held Chamberlain back for six months as he believed he wasn’t ready for the top flight in football, he wanted to take it slowly with him. I believe that he should have another six months feeling his way into the Arsenal team, learning his trade in comfortable surroundings before he faces the pressure in an England shirt.

His mind should be firmly on Arsenal and he doesn’t deserve to be involved in the FA’s political wranglings, not at his young age.

Arsene Wenger should endeavour to make Arsenal youngsters aware of the fact that they should be playing at their peak before becoming embroiled in the goings on at international level

Apprentices in all walks of life have to prove to their employers that they can actually fulfill their roll in all aspects of the job before venturing off on their own. That builds the confidence they need before they worry about anything else.

Immense pressure was put on Theo Walcott when he finally played for Arsenal, more pressure than a young man of that age deserved and Alex Chamberlain has to be protected for his own good.

If it turns out that this young man is good enough in the end, he won’t miss out on playing for his country, why rush him, why ruin him, as England did Walcott?

Supporters have waited a long time to witness the skill and ability of Alex Chamberlain, we have waited patiently for him to be unveiled and finally we have got him in our sight and in an Arsenal shirt. It’s all new for us, it’s all new for him, let’s give him the time and space he deserves to progress his career..

Jack Wilshere has to be handled with kid gloves and Euro 2012 is far too early for him.

Stress fractures to two different parts of the body could be down to playing too many games at young age and as said earlier, we shouldn’t expect to see him playing before the end of the domestic season so how the heck can England/New Manager think they have the right to consider him for the Euros?

He, like The Ox, have plenty of time ahead of them to perform for their country.

In the meantime England, leave our young players alone!!

    Morning,

Ain’t the world of football just mental….!

No Wilshere or Ox in the England team until next season pls….!

  2. devilgunner says:

Good morning guys and chicks of the Gunner’s faith.

Nice Post Sir SP. Try ramming it down the throat of the FA bosses. I doubt they will even try to notice.

However you expressed all our fears and what might eventally happen. That is why we need DD back and big time, since if he was on the FA panel he would help us a bit.

  3. devilgunner says:

So what is stopping Gervinho from doing that with us. It was not a fluke…..that was real skill. He should turn it on more often for us.

Maybe all this is something to do with the OX??? First Theo stepped up a couple of gears, now Gervinho. Funny isnt it. Hope we will gain from this little bit of competition.

  4. rico says:

    Morning all

    That’s a bit of a corker SSP 🙂

Totally agree, I hope none of our players get selected, especially Jack and Ox, too early for them both.

Annoyingly it looks like Pearce will take temporary control for England and we all know he likes peeing Wenger off with selections….

  5. rico says:

Devil, Gerv will in time, its his first season with us, he’s getting used to the players and the pace of the english game etc etc, he’ll get there i’m sure….

Totally agree re the OX though, he’s putting pressure on others for their place, just what we needed…

  6. Tlailaxu says:

I say it’s spot on mr Steven Palmerson…it is true that neither Jack nor Alex are supposed to be in the team, not because they r bad players,no,it’s because Jack is still injured and needs to recover and then have whole preseason under his belt if he is to expect for no reoccurrence of his injury…talk of Ox,also,if he is involved there will be at least one unhappy party,if he goes but doesn’t play, then both the player and Wenger will be pissed,if he does play then those older and more experienced in England squad will be questioning such choice…so I say leave kids at home and take men to Euros…

Talk of Gervinho,it’s nice to see him score…the shot itself looked similar to Henrys against Leeds, hope Geo can keep it up when he’s back…

  7. rico says:

You and me both Wath, he should stick to Pizza adverts…..

Tlailaxu – problem is, we won’t see him in an afc shirt for a while yet, he’ll be given two weeks off after the final i suspect….

  8. Tlailaxu says:

Dg…that’s from my young days(not that I’m old now,26),there was a PC game called Dune(strategy)…one of the alien races was named Tlailaxu, got stuck in my head as I liked their technologies and weapons…=)

    Morning Gooners.
    Morning Rico.
Another fine piece from the pens of Sir Steven of Palmer and Rico.
Wath i’m afraid that both Ox and Jack will be going to the Euros. We’d better accept that now.
    Only injury will prevent it…

  10. allezkev says:

In fact, if all our players are fit come the summer. I’d expect to see Theo and Gibbs on the plane to the Ukraine as well.

  11. devilgunner says:

    Hiya Sir AK.

    So that would mean…..Chesney+Flappy for Poland; Sagna+Kozzer+Diaby (if he manages to stand from the bed) for France; Merte for Germany; Gibbs+OX+Theo+Wilshere(if fit) for England; RVP for Holland;Rosicky for Czech;

The Arsh might be a goner not a gunner while Arteta will no doubt sit it out.

  12. allezkev says:

Morning Coach. Yep, that’s about the size of it.
In fact it wouldn’t suprise me if those FA idiots wouldn’t expect them to play in the Euros AND the Olympics!!!

  13. Rokabox says:

morning HH, nice one steve, rico, the whole topic makes a lot of sense except that double dose of coronation street on a monday night bit!!!

moving on, i think the British media are all hyped up about A’rry being the next English manager, he is a good manager and all, but I think England failures should be blamed vastly on players rather than managers, remember King Keegan, he was a legend, still is,
good coach, successful manger, loved by everyone, good commuincater, has unbelievable passion and man management
skills, and in addition he could read , write and was good with numbers too, and never dodged any tax or had funny business deals and yet it wasn’t pretty in the end
my point is A’rry may be the obvious choice, but it might not work either.
and whatever Jack say Fabio was wrong and had a bad world cup
can’t communicate in English and a nation like England with the history of football and legends should not appoint a foreign coach for the national team, ever!
    back to work now!

  14. devilgunner says:

    Do you AK??

That is one of my favourite actors of my favourite film ever. And also one of my favourite books written by my favourite author. TBH my top ever favourite is The Hobbit. I am looking forward to the film which will be on show around December.

  15. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, thank you for your kind coments.
Rico thanks again for your help in making it readable.
SAK, I think you could be right, but i keep my fingers crossed . I don’t think in all honesty that the new England Manager could dismiss the chance to promote his reign without including the talents of Arsenals finest. Arsenals prospects are starting to look quite exciting maybe i want to see Arsenal progress before England start to exploit their talents. We seem to have gone a very long time in the doldrums and i would like the players to have a decent rest at the end of the season before they start their pre season tours, Youngsters today at this level are said to be playing to much and the trouble with that is the better they play the more they are wanted to play. I want Arsenal to benefit first the supporters deserve as much.

  16. allezkev says:

The thing is Steve. When Harry gets the job, as he surely will, i’m hoping that he plays it a bit safe. You know, go with the tried and trusted experienced players. Who knows, his kind of relaxed style might just work. Kinda telling them that for many, that this is their last chance and to go out with a bang. It might work?

  17. bob says:

wilshere should never go to the euros as hes not match fit and could get even worse injury if not 100% we should play with head not heart, hes young and has plenty more tournaments ahead!!

  18. allezkev says:

Then the younger guys like Jack and Ox could be let down gently by playing in the Olympics instead of the Euros.
    Again it might just work.
Lets see if Harry has the sense to see it that way?

  19. W.A.T.H says:

I think we as a club need to make it very clear these players ain’t going to the euro’s if they not played for us all season, we pay their wages so deal with it…!

Morning Grandad and SP… hope your both well…!

Dev, least we know Gerv has it in him to finish with composure..!

  20. Tlailaxu says:

AK…DG’s avatar is actually Orlando Bloom as Legolas a legendary Sharpshooter from White Elfs clan…that is from The Lord Of Rings

  21. devilgunner says:

    only 50p????

    Its biting in aint it???

My son got Eur20 from the tooth fairy when the first two milk teeth fell.

Are you still in you baby teeth W.A.T.H.???? 😆

  22. Scott from Oz says:

Just a thought……..Wenger knew exactly how good Ox was,and the hype around him would build towards Euro 12,and held him back so as not to have a full season behind him leading into it………maybe giving him too much credit though lol.
Here’s another…….why don’t UEFA give the Champions League a miss the season prior to Euro’s,and even world Cups????
The workload on ANY top player, whatever the age,is to great.

  23. devilgunner says:

    Champions’ league a miss?????

They will vomit before that happens.

Better still even the thought of it will make them sick.

The Champions league is the footballing world’s biggest event.

  24. devilgunner says:

Nothing has to give. If one player is injured another one takes his place. There are millions of players all over europe. If Theo gets injured it is ARC’s bad luck. Someone else will be taken instead.

  25. rico says:

CL and Euros – give them a miss, good idea Scott but there is no chance, they don’t care about the welfare of the players, all they care about is the revenue it brings in…

Sorry to have missed you AK, catch you later hopefully…

  26. Scott from Oz says:

Well everyone should stop whinging about players being overplayed then.
Clubs pay their wages, countries don’t,so should not be condemned for playing them.
The flipside,if course, is that clubs lose a hell of lot more when a player cops an injury.

  27. rico says:

Andrey Arshavin wants a move to Zenit St Petersburg.

The 30-year-old is a target for another Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala, and Arsenal are keen to get a deal done before the transfer window closes on February 24.

But Arshavin wants to hang on a few more months and seal a switch to Zenit.

  28. devilgunner says:

That is why the idea of the European Super league is brewing. Players who take part in it will not be forced to play for their country seeing that it will not be run by Fifa or Uefa.

Until FIFA/UEFA run football everything will remain status quo.

  29. stevepalmer1 says:

I have aways been a supporter of keeping players in catagories under 18’s under 21’s and seniors, play for one or the other and once played stay in that group untill your age permits you another, if you go straight into the seniors you stay there, that way many youngsters will benefit.

  30. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, maybe I’m lucky here in Oz……can’t watch them live, can’t watch them at a reasonable hour, but can watch at reasonable price lol.
    Good article,too.

  31. Scott from Oz says:

I must admit we Aussies are lucky…..most take it for granted though.
Hoping to get over next year for one game though…….I’d die happy then.

  32. Micko says:

    Morning all,
You’d hope common sense will prevail and Jack won’t even be considered for the euro’s.
As for the Ox don’t have a problem if he’s selected, it’ll be a good experience for him and he’ll only be gone two weeks, but he’s got a hell of a lot to do if he’s to be picked, can’t see it myself.
It would also look good in his autobiography which will probably be on sale in a couple of years time.
If Stuart Pearce does get the job we can all look forward to long ball football, he ain’t got a clue.

  33. Rokabox says:

    Rico re 10.52, I know I live there.that’s why I said it.

can’t stand the thing tbh. I know you do, no offence. smily face!!

  34. Micko says:

Well if things continue as they are you’ll have no problem getting a seat Scott, bring the whole family and the dog as well.

  35. rico says:

Make sure its not when we play the Mancs then Scott 😉

Morning Micko – i reckon pearce will just be temporary with you know who leaving his current post in may…

forgot the euros is only two weeks, there was me think it was the same as the WC, what do i know eh 😉

  36. Scott from Oz says:

    Micko,I would appreciate it.
It’s easy to take something you have ready access to for granted….like the weather in Australia lol.

  37. rico says:

😳 sorry Rokabox…. and no offence taken 😉

Micko – that’s funny, maybe Scott’s dog could open a bank account ….

  38. Micko says:

Laters Scott, a bit like the rain in Ireland.

Rico, you know Ingurland always go out at the quarter finals stage, he’ll be back in two shakes of a lambs tail.

  39. rico says:

When I was out earlier, some guy came out of the village shop in a right old rage, he was throwing his shopping around and shouting…

Packet of cheese and a pint of milk hit me…….

    How Dairy I thought! ……….

    I’ll get me coat 😉

  40. Micko says:

When I think back to all the days I took off work to watch England play in tournaments, I must of needed my head examined, it always ended in tears, can’t be arsed anymore, club before country these days, some of mates go banana’s when i say that.

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

    Shalom Gooners,

Arry to scepter England to the promised land? Maybe he’ll turn it down as a protest against Ukraine/Poland killing herds of stray dogs. 😀

As for Ox & the Jackal their Genesis haven’t been written in Arsenal history books yet. So it’s a bit early career and clueless to other names that deserve a mention. I agree the club should benefit from a substantial contribution first. Theo got robbed from his lightheartedness, peace of mind and subsequently his settlement at top flight. Certainly confused his understanding of abilities and limitations at an early age. Making him rely too much on his only proven asset.

SP & Rico a tasty Double Whopper post.

  42. rico says:

I’m the same Micko, only watch England if we have the afc boys playing, otherwise its all manc, chav and dipper players…. yawnnnnnnnnn ….

  43. allezkev says:

Just listened to the FA Press Conference re; Capello.

Some of the stupid questions asked by the journos beggars belief. What a bunch of dullards.

  44. rico says:

Afternoon DG, to this day i still believe that Theo going to the WC did him more harm than good, mentally and why AW supported Sven in taking him i never understand….

    Set him back years 😉

  45. allezkev says:

Those dullards will be writing the copy for the newspaper you’ll be reading at your breakfast table tomorrow.
Now there are people on here, who do this as a hobby who could have come up with more intelligent and sensible questions.
And those tossers get paid. It’s a joke!

    Afternoon Gooners

  46. rico says:

Hi AK, i have seen it but i can imagine….. Dont they realise he had the best record in years as england manager…. still didn’t want him though as england boss though 😉

wonder if he’ll replace Arry at the spuds?

  47. Tlailaxu says:

I know RICO…that is outrageous, and even so they don’t seem to be happy with all the free millions on offer, when I think how much we have spent on Emirates and highbury recreation projects, just how much was given to us from public sector…close to nothing…

  48. Tlailaxu says:

And if this one happens…I might be wrong but it looks like money laundry to me…

However, as stated here by a local newspaper, the Tottenham & Wood Green Journal – ‘It is thought the money (provided by the public purse) would effectively subsidise Spurs’ compulsory payments to the council to carry out infrastructure and other improvements in the area; Haringey paying Spurs a lump sum, only for Spurs to pay it straight back to them.’

  49. allezkev says:

Hey Dune, thanks for explanation on Devil’s gravatar.
    I thought it was Kevin Costner… 🙂
    Who, btw, is a Gooner…

  50. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico didn’t AW protest at first hand??

Although I’m not in favour, I think Ox doesn’t allow, if picked, himself to be on cloud 9. He seems to prefer serenity over euphoria.

  51. DutchGooner10 says:

BTW on the Frimmy injury case.

I remember Ruud van Nistelrooi having exactly the same ligament injuries prior to his move to ManU. In fact he was still recovering from surgery when he had his medical at Old Trafford.

Hope it lifts your spirits a bit on his future.

  52. allezkev says:

Gotta say Wath, that on this rare occassion, i think the FA did ok.
I certainly had no enthusiam at the thought of Capello leading us into another tournament

  53. DutchGooner10 says:

Talking about FA. Saturday’s PL game will prelude our FA cup-tie against Sunderland. Can it be used to measure that confrontation or do you guys consider it a stand-alone??

  54. W.A.T.H says:

I think they 2 completely different games DG…..! One may influence the other if we give them a good tanking on saturday though…!?!?!?

  55. devilgunner says:

A question to you Sir AK……….how would you feel with Capello as coach post Wenger??

Remember that he has won cups and trophies and international cup in different countries, and with all the clubs he has managed. He is even more decorated than Sir Red Nose.

  56. devilgunner says:

I hope we give them a tonking in both games W.A.T.H.

by Tonking I mean 5-0 and above.

although I do not expect that type of result every game.

  57. W.A.T.H says:

Can I answer that as well Dev,

IF he was ten yrs younger it would be a yes I’d take him in a flash…! BUT………. at his age i think not as i’d rather go with someone that can see something through if it’s a new project new manager new staff new ideas etc etc…..

  58. DutchGooner10 says:

    WATH

We certainly need a win to keep ourselves in chasing 4th. The FA cup is a reasonable trophy chance for both, so I expect a tooth to nail clash which will seriously test our squad stamina and 90min concentration span. Our tendency leaving gaps between midfield and defense might be more exposed through the intense pace of that game.

  59. W.A.T.H says:

I watched the game last night DG and they played ok but nothing special and that was a local derby as well….! We should batter them to be honest.

  60. devilgunner says:

TBH….I like him a lot W.A.T.H. He has been one of my favourite coaches like Ancelotti, Sacchi and now the Juventus coach Conte.

As you can see I tend to go for Italian coaches.

However….I also tend to like Joachim Lowe, the present Germany Coach.

Knowing the AFC board it will be someone who AW suggests.

  61. devilgunner says:

The reason I go for Italian coaches is because their Coaching Pro Course is one of the toughest in the world. To pass from it you need to be tip top in reading the game.

The courses by the Scottish FA are one of the best, however I feel that Italian Courses and German Courses are the best regarding tactics and psychology. The dutch, french and spanish are very good for technique especially with under 17 downwards to under 6. In Spain for example the Barca coaches with the under 11 are all Uefa ‘A’ licence. Imagine having a coach who can coach in the EPL coaching the under 9 or 10.

For tactics the best coaches are italian or german. I had a look at course material for italian coaches and believe me mate, it will make you fart tactics out of every orifice you have.

  62. W.A.T.H says:

I think there are a good group of young german managers about at the moment Dev, Who is the ex player now managing in Japan that Wenger rates Stankovic…??? Don’t rule him out… I’d like an Arsenal man even if it was one with little to no experience in management…! Long as he has the brains the attitude and has learned from his ex managers i’d be happy with that… It’s worked for us before..!

  63. devilgunner says:

Personally the present coaching group I tend to look with a favourable eye is the De Boer team including the De Boer twins and DB10.

However a trio of Bould leading Keown and DB10 would be ideal as all of them are bought up by the club.

  64. W.A.T.H says:

That would do me mate……… in any order Bouldy, Keown and DB10…!

    I’d be a very very happy chappie…………..

  65. devilgunner says:

Dont exactly agree with any order mate. I think that Bould is the more management oriented of the three. The others would make top coaches but not management or administration.

As for TH14????? I prefer not to comment.

  66. Tlailaxu says:

Devil…if we ever managed to get Bould Keown and Dennis couch our first team at the same time I don’t think there would be anything stopping us,obviously we would need to buy some 3-4 players but after that it’s Heaven

  67. Tlailaxu says:

Oh and I think we need to sign up Ox’s father to work with our academy players…look how he trained the young kid…

  68. W.A.T.H says:

I think you’ll find Dev that Keown is the best motivator and man management person of those three I’d actually have him as manager and Bouldy as his No2 and DB as assistant assistant coach 😉

  69. DutchGooner10 says:

Devil may I chip in on your question.

I think if our club/squad was at a more mature stage, ready to challenge on all fronts, I would sign Capello in a heart beat. Giving him 2 years to attribute Catenaccio flair, tactical diversity. He’s not shy of clamping down on even the established and runs a tight ship on discipline.

But being in a transitional phase he will stumble on too much frustration for his liking. Throwing in the towel as he hasn’t got the temper to wait for honours.

  70. agirlagunner says:

Well done, Gervinho! Let’s hope those scoring boots make it back to London. 🙂 Steve, I think the young ones find senior international footie irresistible; their readiness just takes a backseat. I wholeheartedly agree though. Leave our young ones alone, England!

Hi Devil, Dutch and WATH. 🙂

  71. allezkev says:

Hi Devil. I agree with Wath.
Not sure that he’s got the longevity to be able to deal with the currant Arsenal squad, based as it is around developing talent rather than the finished article.

  72. DutchGooner10 says:

    Sir Devil

I tip my head for your in depth coaching knowledge. Legendary if I may say so. One of the many reasons I come here. And makes discussions that much more enjoyable.

  73. devilgunner says:

    DG10…..thanks. I appreciate.

But I am still young in coaching terms and surely not legendary. I do like to share all that I have and know. The reason is simple…..I love the game of football so much that I eat it, drink it, sleep it, dream it, live it and breath it.

  74. allezkev says:

Dutch, just call him Coach. I often do.
I’m afraid tbat i watch a game like a fan. Caught up in the emotion. I’m not really one for systems.
But Coach is the boy. He can suss it all out.
KT is also good at talking systems.
Me, i’d rather talk shopping with agag.
    How ya doing mamachita? 🙂

  75. agirlagunner says:

There’s always something to pick up in here, Dutch. We have some very learned bloggers. Devil, when are yo writing next? 🙂 Boo, AK! I hope you’ve been a good kind of busy! 🙂

  76. agirlagunner says:

I give a whole new meaning to the phrase “talking shop”, AK. Hah. 🙂 🙂 How are you? Do you have that new phone yet?

  77. DutchGooner10 says:

Devil sharing the passion definitely shines through your comments.

Legendary was reference to the knowledge of coaching standards throughout Europe. I don’t know many that can dish that out from top of mind.

  78. devilgunner says:

Offski for now…….skeeedaddling to training. Back around 4 more hours.

    Thanks for your comments

    cu mates.

  79. allezkev says:

I read someone on here mentioning Sunderland.
Have they got any injuries then?
Lets hope that Martin O’Neill gets linked to the England job. Anything to upset them for a week or so. Or until Arsenal beat them…

  80. stevepalmer1 says:

Just caught the last couple of comments, Martin O’Neill, last night said on tv after the game that He feels that Redknapp was the best man for the England Job, do you reckon he might have his eye on a move toNorth London

  81. K-TR7 says:

I agree with devil.Italians are the best at tactics.I remember a match between Gasperini’s Genoa and Mourinho’s Inter whereby the change in tactics made the game look like a chess match.Mourinho even said he had never had a match so intense.thats why most fans find Serie A boring.if you actually understand tactics its like tactics porn out there 😎

    Hi Steve & Kt..

Good point about MoN Steve, surely Sunderland is just a stepping stone for better things for him?

  83. rico says:

Kt, the only tactics i know are to research your oppo and play the right game to beat them…. 😉

I’m leaving the technical stuff to devil ‘the coach’ gunner 😉

  84. allezkev says:

Hi Rico/KT. I did on another blog that if you took away the goals we conceded vs ManUre+Blackburn, back at the beginning of the season when we were in disarray, then we’d have the 3rd best defensive record in the EPL.
Not that it means much, but the fact is we’re still trying to recover from our awfull start and will no doubt still be doing so in May.

  85. K-TR7 says:

At least we are improving on that front.last season Madrid scored 22 😮 in the league,we had 3,barca had 9 and the mancs 6.

  86. Micko says:

Steve, we need to get an English manager back in charge of the National team, its the only way to go.
Rico, not sure Sunderland fans would agree with you.
Kev, if the season would have started last weekend we would be top of the league !

  87. Goonster says:

Hiya folks just popping on to say a quick “hello”. Now am off. See you guys in a few weeks time. Coygs.

  88. allezkev says:

    I know Mick i know.
I was kinda thinking along those lines as i typed.
You know if so & so had such like they’d be yer brother!

KT. Ox gives us a directness that we’ve lacked since Gerv left.
Someone put on here yesterday, it may even had been you, that we’re doing less tippy~tappy and going more direct.
    Good job as well…

  89. K-TR7 says:

We are indeed direct.look at rvp’s goal vs the mancs or our 2nd goal vs B’burn.no delays,1 touch passing with incisive off the ball movement.we are still capable of possession footy as evidenced by our 6th goal whereby we kept the ball for 50 seconds before scoring.our 2nd goal though was a beauty;10 players were involved in a 21 second break.

    ….And I am back.

If anyone wants to know what football passion is all about watch this video…….there are some Gunners in it….including the God of football and the legend himself……

  91. Scott from Oz says:

The most obvious replacement for Wenger is Guardiola.
Obviously understands our style of play, and has openly stated he will not be at Barca for more than another year or two.
Bring him in with Bergkamp as his understudy, and Dennis can take over a few year’s later.
Alternatively, get Bergkamp in as #2 now,and ease him in to the top job.

  92. devilgunner says:

I am on firefox Rico……for me its ok. but just copy and paste it on internet explorer or google chrome and you can see it.

  93. devilgunner says:

Righto….I am off. Time for me to go and rest.

Good night all. Tomorrow is a hectic day so I may not be that much on HH.

  94. rico says:

mine won’t allow the the player devil 🙁

I’ll check it out on Internet Explorer…..

    Scott – i’d rather Wenger that Pep….

  95. Razronnie says:

Thanks 4 tha sincere post. I think its the basic reason why england have won nothing of late.Impatience kills them coz,how can you name OX in the england squad jst coz of 6 impressive displays? Its like ruining him. I doubt even if wilshere wil eva b smart as b4. So 2 Theo. Just in the name of ingland! Am sad..!

  96. Joaquim Moreira says:

    press:
“The hiring of Robin van Persie is a priority for Real Madrid and if the proposed 30 million pounds (35.7 million) does not arrive, Gonzalo Higuain come in a package to persuade Arsenal to negotiate the advanced Dutch 28 years.
The “Daily Mail” that advances the meringues fear interference from Manchester City and Barcelona, which also have Van Persie on their lists of reinforcements, but also reveals that Higuain, very pleased the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Chelsea and is intended by may prefer to move to Stamford Bridge.”

  97. MistaKen says:

Agree totally about the OX. He has not had enough top flight football to play for England. Far too much pressure at his age. One mistake and he’ll be crucified by our press and accused of letting down the country. Imagine what that will do to an 18 year old’s confidence.

He has plenty of time to play for England and if he keeps working as hard as he is I see a bright international future for him
