Gazidis £5m deal a hint that Stan may sell? Finally, someone talks sense & Gibbs returns…

Morning all,

Never thought I’d be saying this but that person talking sense is Ian Wright and he’s right:

He is known as Silent Stan, but it’s time Stan Kroenke started speaking.

How much do we all want that eh. Let him speak, tell us what his plans are, what he wants for our club and then let’s really judge him.

Most importantly, tell us if he’s thinking of selling up?? Is he thinking about getting us back to winning trophies? Possibly not, none of his other clubs do do they?

The next couple of months are going to be grim for us Gooners, our next fixture is out and Germany, and I strongly suspect that will end up being another exit from yet another cup. That’s how it is, that’s how it has been for many a season now.

February and March really are our doom and gloom months aren’t they.

Talking of doom and gloom, looks like it’s going to be that for Emmanuel Frimpong. His days at Arsenal seem to be well and truly over. Many a report suggests that he’s been told he is no longer in our clubs future plans. I’m not sure whether that’s a footballing decision or a Twitter decision, but either way, Frimpong has done nothing to help his own future with us with his off-field antics.

His current manager, Martin Jol wants to sign him up for Fulham.

Some good news is the return of Kieran Gibbs, he’s back  in full training. I doubt he’ll dislodge Monreal at left back for the league fixtures but at least when we head to Germany next week, we will feel a lot better knowing that Vermaelen will not be required to play out of position. ( Mind you he does that often enough when playing central)

The Daily Mail report that Gazidis and Kroenke have an agreement in place which, should the American sell his shares, Gazidis will receive a pay-off of £5 million.

I'll have some of that Stan!!
I’ll have some of that Stan!!

Funny one that, why does ‘he who never sells’ need to be assuring Gazidis that his future would be financially secure?

I always believe in never say never and there’s always a first time.

You never know, we might actually go and win in Germany and be the last Premier League club standing in the Champions League.

That’s it for another day, has Fergie come out of the dressing room yet?

  1. Adam says:

    Good morning Rico and all.
If Frimpong has been told that he is no longer in the club’s future plans are we to assume that there are, in fact and contrary to appearance, future plans? There was I thinking that we made it up as we went along.

  2. Scott from Oz says:

I reckon there have been one or two games when Frimpongs mongrel would have been of use to us.
Adam, it sounds like Stan is making plans, finally…..
    Morning everyone.

  3. George says:

The five aside who signed, there is no youth coming through. None will get a cahnce. Not Gnabry, nor Eisfeld…JC , Afobe and Ryo wont cut it neither. Sad , as they are good players, but not good enough.

    Stan-Didos white flag

  4. Scott from Oz says:

    George,
I can not speak for myself as i have barely seen these kids, but plenty reckon they are rippers.

  5. Adam says:

Scott. If those plans involve him shipping himself, his cronies and that crazy syrup out of Arsenal, then he has my complete support.

  6. rico says:

    Morning Adam and all..

Doesn’t Frimpong’s contract expire this summer? I would imagine he was told when the other Brits were all offered new contracts.

  7. devilgunner says:

Good Morning my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.

    Morning Lady and Adam.

A day off from work finally. phew. Needed it like water in the sahara.

Hmmmmm. Where to begin? Too much to catch up to.

I saw the game vs the scum. I do not think it was all doom and gloom. Well bar the central defensive cohesion, failing to take the scoring chances and not throwing the banana at the right person, we had an overall good game. The chances were created and the statistic of major possession are a good plus. If there was Wright/Henry/even an overaged Bastin we would have scored more than them.

But it was not to be.

Regarding the take over it seems as if its the fashion. However Bayern, Barca, Real, Dortmund are not owned by a sugar daddy and they are doing well arent they? Much better than us in fact.

It all boils down to the direction and management.

At the end of it all its POLITICS.

If the AW/Bould story is true the former should be given a lesson by the cat’o’nine tails.

  8. rico says:

Plans might be a bit optimistic Scott, maybe SK is just having a worry about the loss of CL money looming and is already off loading a few wages to compensate 😉

George, Gnabry and Eisfield, I believe both will make it with us…

  9. ClockEndRider says:

“The Daily Mail reports…….” = “The Daily Mail, in the absence of any insider knowledge whatever, fabricates………”.

  10. rico says:

Morning devil, good you finally have some down time, enjoy it…

It wasn’t so much the weekends game, it’s the months/seasons that preceded it…..

Same old errors which cost dear, and same old failings in front of goal….

  11. George says:

Scott, they are technically very good, some very fast but they have the frame of a 12 year old and would get eaten alive in the PL. Unless they bulk up, I don’t think there is gonna be a future for them . A la Vela…there career lies elsewhere. Im sure we will get some wonga for them.

One that hasnt made it is Miguel at CB. Even with all the injuries / loans he doesnt get the look in. Another Bartley waiting to happen.

  12. Scott from Oz says:

For those who missed it, the CL highlights show is on now……and it has just finished.
Doesn’t take long to show a ref reaching for his pocket 🙂

  13. rico says:

You never know, maybe they do know someone on the inside CER…

But we all know to believe little from the press, well until it becomes fact….

  14. bc says:

george – are we really that bothered about the youngsters coming through? i think we have waited long enough the likes of afobe gnabry ryo eisfeld may not have had their chances but many like them have and we canjot be patient anymore. ruthless decisions need to be made for the good of the club and in some cases the players. i predict wholesale changes of between 20 -30 players this summer and many more changes to the backroom staff. i would retain a nucleus of around 20 first team players and 20 academy players then add around 10 players to each group give or take a few.
    .

  15. George says:

bc, you are right. We will definately offload a bucket load. ITs what we bring in now and what changes at board level and at coaching level..

    Hi Rico

  16. Scott from Oz says:

Fair enough George, but that is exactly the reason i wish we had a B side like Barca, or to get these kids out playing regular lower league football.
Playing overseas does not toughen them up, and nor does playing other kids.
Don’t laugh, but they would learn a lot about physicality playing out here in Oz.
The clubs here would give their all to have one or two Arsenal 18 y.o.’s on the books for a season.
Our league is obviously not even close to the PL technically, but it would allow the kids to play against hardened pros.

  17. Scott from Oz says:

Do we keep these kids learning the “Arsenal way” for too long, instead of also allowing them to learn the English way, if that makes sense.

  18. devilgunner says:

I have a master plan for AW.

You see…….we all bang about that the players are good ones except that they do not now tactics. Well the best times of AW’s AFC career was between 1997-2004 when the majority of the time saw the defence of GG.

Now what I propose is this. AW should take a 5 year sabbatical and leave all the running to SB. The latter would drill the team in tactics etc. Then AW would come back refreshed and relaxed and and get us a couple of really great forwards who can score.

    Glory days……….

  19. George says:

Scott, I think playing in a league in Australia, wouldnt be challenging enough technically. Fair enough they’d get kicked and toughened up but while the standard of the A league is on the up, most players from UK who go there are in their mid thirties for a farewell season..

Id rather they went to a lower league club and made a difference like Chezza and Jay simpson did

  20. Scott from Oz says:

George, these kids seem to have the technical stuff down pat though.
Our league is definitely getting better though.
A 19 y.o. From my local A League side has recently gone to Celtic and is getting plenty of action there.
I am not comparing the SPL to the EPL, but even 5 years ago, this would not have happened.
Devil, i also have a plan.
Wenger should employ a defensive coach and let him coach them 🙂

  21. stevepalmer1 says:

Scott, i know you are one of those supporters who look at the positives and i commend you for that. After sixteen years of uninterupted champions league Performances i can not see us missing out this year either, but should we be eliminated we may have to look at why this has happened. Your question as to whether i feel we are better or worse than last season, i have to answer did we win anything last season or the season before or even the seasons before that and i can hear you say No. That means we need a big improvement unless of course you are quite happy with our very steady finishes. Personally i would like a trophy and for this year i would settle for Champions league seeing how were out of everything else. or else we will be no better or worse than last year. Possitivity is only beneficial when the owners want to win things.

  22. devilgunner says:

Yea Adam. That is why I suggested it. Then he might be too frail to take certain decisions and would want to take a back seat and just buy two great scorers and leave everything to SB.

Actually I think that next summer will see a very big number of changes……….yes including the board and the management.

  23. devilgunner says:

Has anyone thought of this situation? If I remember correctly once Kev and I exchanged a couple of emails and we remarked that SK and IG are waiting and at the same time giving AW enough rope to hang himself with. They do not want to be labeled as the couple who sacked AFC’s longest serving and greatest manager. So they will force AW to resign or walk off and then they will get down to re generating the club.

  24. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, i know we are not good enough.
My question/comment was basically suggesting that not only we do not have the right players, but we haven’t for years….well, not enough of them at one time.

  25. tsGH says:

    Hi all,

Hi Scott, Rico, Dev and all the regulars…

Very interesting views as always on here. I particularly agreed with Bradster’s comment in response to SB not being allowed to coach the defence yesterday. It makes perfect sense.

Me personally, I think we do not have the players and the players we have are not earning their money because, most Arsenal fans would rather sing SC19’s name even though to me he is worse than AA23 and slate hard workers in the team who may not be as skilful.

I happened to have the privilege of watching BVB’s match last night live at Westfalenstadion and it made me really see that our team do not put in the effort needed and the fans afford them so. In fact, I read after every game on blogs that only if we had 10 other JW10…. but the fact is if he was not English and had not come through the ranks would we be holding him in such regard. To me he is down the pecking order in terms of talent and efficiency compared to the likes of Gotze and Ozil to name a few.

In fact how many times have we had players including JW10 win us a difficult match as the likes of Cesc and even Eduardo use to do. The fans overate most of the flamboyant players and slate others who may not be as skilful but put in 100% effort…

Last weekend SC19 was almost useless but as was the case with AA23 AW has become impotent and unwilling to make decisive decisions when it really matters. JW since he got back from injury has hardly ever had a decent first half in any game. He comes out in 2nd half of games and then acts like he is magic Johnson ranting and raving at others to get some fans thinking he is the only one who cares… pathetic really. Maybe if some of the favourites in the team put in an effort in first halves of games we would not be chasing games so often,

Just a rant after being on the German sauce. 😉

  26. Here comes the goon says:

RE Gazidis. This is standard in any contract. It’s a severance package clause within his contract that if he quits or is fired he get’s x amount of basic salary plus bonus. This is completely standard and does not have anything to do nor points at Stan selling the club. The daily mail, is using what is a completely normal contractual clause to stir the pot.

  27. George says:

Devil’s plan may have some actual truth in it..Rumours are rife that le prof will move upstairs soon anyhow..

Scott, Steve Bould was doing a job …With Liam Brady leaving …something smells ..Pat Rice leaving last year, Bob WIlson year before..

SP: we are not improving on the pitch. Off it it looks like a storm brewing. I would like us to have a good go at Bayern next week. A win would do, progress however unlikely to the next round would be real progress and a player redemption to us suffering supporters

  28. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, has Stan got any history of actually building, or in this case rebuilding, a club though?
If they do that, then they should be shot.
This is tantamount to conspiring against the best interests of Arsenal….our results show that.
Best off sacking him if they want him gone, at least people cold respect their courage.

  29. tsgh says:

Dev re 10:19 am comment… in some field of work it is termed ‘being allowed to feed on your own brain’.

It is when someone brings up an idea that seems good and effective (genius) initially but when change has to be made by superiors they let the ‘genius’ hang himself with his own concept.

In AW case it is I believe that you have done it before and ut has worked and you believe in it so why change if it is not broken.

  30. rico says:

Hi Ts, we said similar here yesterday about players not putting in enough effort.

The manager could have done something to change that….

  31. George says:

i know Scott, still something isnt right. Alot of behind the scenes going on there…

Our team does not defend as a team. We dont close down anyone, and invite teams to play 1-2’s around BFG and poor TV5

  32. potter says:

Frimpong burned his bridges at The Arsenal the day he chose Ghana over England. The signing of the U.K based five meant we were looking for a squad that would not lose it’s main players to the African stay away cup. Once he chose the mid season break away he became a problem in the squad.

  33. rico says:

HCTG – The newspaper just reported the £5m plan, I am the one hoping it means Kroenke is going to sell up soon.

  34. Scott from Oz says:

George, i always reckon i can see how we are going to play in the first few minutes.
If there is energy and movement off the ball, we will do well.
    It is lacking too often.
Yes, Wenger must motivate them, but self pride and professional pride should mean that at least the effort is there.

  35. rico says:

But then why would AW go on and sign Gervinho Potter, or was that before. Hard to recall as he’s made such little impact…

  36. stevepalmer1 says:

I think a lot of times we say we haven’t got good enough players, i don’t honestly believe that. We have players out there, most of them in fact, have played some games quite outstandingly. But what we have is players who are being coached wrongly, We seem to always look for the backward pass where we used to look forward. If you look at some of our players say for instance Jack he is the kind of player who looks for the breakthrough, but the options for that kind of pass is not there. Because we have good midfield players we seem to play most of our play centrally, only when a fullback goes forward have we options down the flanks but they are usually left to do all the work on their own. Last nights game at the toilet, When Madrid went forward they tried as hard as possible to pressurise Utd with very quick positive passing and their goals came more from confusion, the same at the other end where a Madrid player put through his own goal. Positive direct attacking will cause confusion. We play a slow build up game anybody breaking forward finds himself alone, the only option he has is to look back. That is because the squad is not working together. Where Utd and Madrid all rush forward we usually have no bodies in the box. Spuds showed us how you can break through with good runs and penetrating passes we don’t have the runners. Until our coaches train these reasonable players we will suffer. We have the players but no idea’s.

  37. rico says:

Sp. Have to agree there on the coaching. Many of ours are international players, they should be far more organised. They are when they play for their country I’m sure…

  38. George says:

SP has hit the nail on the head re our coaching and decision making. Rosicky, Santi and JW only play attacking passes. Its not a positinoal gripe. a pass forward i.e rosciky to ramsey is tghe way fwd, not ramsey back to Mert..That invites presuure not creat pressure for your opponent..Klingon , should keep moving fwd after beating 3 players ..not pass 30 meters behind everyone.

  39. CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE says:

THE YOUTH POLICY WE WERE SOLD BY WENGER FAILED.

HOW MANY WORLD CLASS PLAYERS DID WE PRODUCE?

JW10 WAS THE ONLY GENUINE WORLD CLASS PLAYER THAT CAME THROUGH THE RANKS..

    CESC WAS ROBBED FROM BARCELONA..

    SOLD A DREAM THAT FAILED.

8 YEARS OF LIES SO KROENKE CAN SELL THE CLUB FOR A 400MILL PROFIT AND GAZIDAS CAN WALK OF WITH 5MILL EVEN IF HE IS SACKED.

WENGER IS A BOARD MEMBER HE IS PART OF THE SHOW..

    ALL IN IT TOGETHER

  40. CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE says:

THEY USED THE WORD SUSTAINABILITY AS A REASON NOT TO TO INVEST AND SELL THE CLUB FOR 400MILL PROFIT..

    WAKE UP LADS

  41. rico says:

I thought that style of play would have left us the day Denilson went, so it must be something Wenger likes to encourage….

  42. devilgunner says:

George……..I feel that the worst thing that could happen to the next manager is if AW is allowed to go upstairs. His influence will remain.

There are good managers around. And if paying AW 7 million a year is deemed good enough why not employ a good manager with 4 million a year and a bonus plus increments for every trophy won?

Yes even players should be treated as such. want a payrise? fight for it and win trophies. If you do that or at least get to second than you will get increments and a bonus.

The gk and defenders? A bonus for every clean sheet you keep.

The midfielders and attack? A bonus for every goal created/scored.

Why not? Its fair enough I think.

You will soon see them running around like road runners.

  43. Scott from Oz says:

We don’t have enough quality players.
Wenger is not getting the best out of the guys we do have.
The players are not getting the best out of themselves.
    I work in sales.
I am making app. double the sales of the previous guy.
We have/had the same boss, same area, same products…….not a difference at all.
I am not twice as good at sales as him.
I work twice as hard as he did.
    True story.

  44. George says:

    Spot on Devil.

Rico, I was thinking that as well re Denilson. that clown is still on our books as well.

  45. Scott from Oz says:

Charlie, how many world class players are out there?
How many english world class players are there at present?
    Where did they come from?

  46. devilgunner says:

    Scott from Oz says:
    March 6, 2013 at 11:05 am

    I work in sales.
I am making app. double the sales of the previous guy.
We have/had the same boss, same area, same products…….not a difference at all.
I am not twice as good at sales as him.
I work twice as hard as he did.
    True story.

The chances are that he makes twice as much money as you do mate.

I have said it many times and nothing will convince me otherwise. All that is happening at AFC is simply caused by boardroom politics. And AW is part of it himself.

  47. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, the trouble is many players would rather sit on the bench or Citeh and get the cash regardless of results.
    No professional pride.

  48. Scott from Oz says:

The truth is he was too busy making excuses for his lack of performance to get his job done, and ended up leaving.

  49. devilgunner says:

No mate. If you sit on the bench you will not get any bonus or increments. Only those who played.

And before anyone tells me that its not fair, than those who are SHITTING on the bench should try doubly harder and work their balls even harder in training to get their arses off it before they get splinters in them.

I would rather have a young player who wants to have his bite at the cherry on the bench than a full pro who wants to SHIT himself on it.

  50. Scott from Oz says:

My point is regardless of reasons, excuses or other factors, there is nothing stopping anyone giving their very best at what they do.
Especially guys earning a fortune or playing a game.

  51. devilgunner says:

An AFC story from the thirties. Cant remember the name but Chapman was involved init.

During the after match discussion Chapman kept on picking on a particular players criticizing him for his performance. After half an hour the player could take it no more and told Chapman “But boss, I was not even playing.”

Back came the answer from the GREAT MAN himself. “Then you must be pretty worse than I was saying if you were not playing”

  52. Scott from Oz says:

    Great story Devil.
Hate bringing his name up nowadays, but effort is why i appreciate our Welshman.
    No whinging.
    No whining.
He just does what he is told, with total effort, even though it is a different task every week 🙂

  53. devilgunner says:

Personally I think that those who slate Ramsey are speaking from their arse. As you said. He does what he is told. Nothing more nothing less.

  54. stevepalmer1 says:

Supporters are blaming the board and owners for our demise. Although i have been a staunch supporter of Wenger i feel he should take most of the brunt. I saw in yesterdays post that someone said why has Kroenke not brought in his own people, why should he when the board are making profit. We are far from poor, they are doing their jobs right. If we went out and bought Ronaldo or Messi and carried on playing like we do we would still be the same. The board are not responsible, The responsibility on the field is down to the manager. He sets up how we train he buys the players he sets the tactics and he picks the team. The board tell us that we have funds available, are you telling me they are lying. why hasn’t Wenger told us that. He tells us that he will only buy when he can buy better players than we have now. I feel he could easily find better players than some that we have. I see a weakness in goal i can see we need a DM who can keep fit and push forward a Ya Ya type player. I feel that we persevere with Theo and Giroud and Gerve i think we could buy better. where’s the problem.

  55. rico says:

I agree there too Scott, 4/5 better than who we have will be a good place to start, and then finally start coaching them as a team from front to back and play like one instead of looking like a bunch of individuals who have been thrown together for a pub team on a Sunday morning…

George, and a few others on our books, they all need to be gone….

  56. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, i don’t know exactly what to think.
Nobody could suggest Wenger can’t find better players, so maybe the cash really is not available.
That’s it though….none of us really know, and that is the tough part.

  57. devilgunner says:

At the end of season 2005, AW said to himself. “I have done a great job here. I have always been in the top two. I have won the EPL, the FA, stayed unbeaten etc. I have nothing to prove anymore. Now all I want is to create my own team from within where the team will be made on my own reflection. A dynasty which would reach the heights of AJAX and BARCA who did it from their own youths.”

Thus he started dismantling a great club to rebuild it in his own image.

    Sadly I fell it backfired.

  58. rico says:

    Good points made there Sp.

I blame them all, as I keep saying, it starts at the top and if SK really wanted us to be a success he would have intervened by now without fans thinking he is interfering, after all, the majority of the club is his.

Kroenke sets a very bad example imho, and that filters all the way down to Vik in his shorts.

  59. rico says:

What do you guys make of the stories linking us to Williams of Swansea?

Why would he want to leave them, he’s already won a trophy there 😉

  60. ozgunner10 says:

good point there stevep – have made the same point myself – evening everyone or morning to you little UK’ers

  61. ozgunner10 says:

hello Rico – all is well i presume? What did you do to our takeover bid then? Come on admit it, you sabotaged it didn’t you? 🙂

  62. stevepalmer1 says:

I will probably miss you Devil, But good question mate. I only think the board would question Wenger if they wanted success on the pitch, I feel this is debatable, I know that sounds a daft statement but why the money is still rolling in i assume they are quite happy. I feel that if champions league should be missed next year then they would probably look round for the £30 mill but were not out of it yet.:)

  63. ozgunner10 says:

hey allez! yep all done, looks a millions dollars, i am really pleased with it – just need the money now to purchase the bath and bingo, all the tap work is in place and ready to go

  64. ozgunner10 says:

at the recent ast meeting it was also let out that Stan may well be drawing funds from now on, wonder where that money comes from?

  65. allezkev says:

Oz, if you need a hand doing the grouting, my hourly rates are very reasonable… 😉

Adam, if it’s not nailed down, etc etc.

    Hi Rico/Sir Stevo.

    Vbusy, lata

  66. ozgunner10 says:

don’t look good though sp lets be honest – we’re miles off the pace and remember we got there last year on the strength of others more than our own form. One exception being RVP of course

  67. ozgunner10 says:

oh i see whats happening here allez, you wait for me to say its done then make the offer? 🙂

  68. ozgunner10 says:

in answer to your question Rico – i like the williams lad, tough, strong and quick. Proven in the EPL – yes vote from me

  69. rico says:

Sp, didn’t PHW once say that all is not lost if we don’t qualify for the CL as money is kept by for that ‘rainy day’….

Forget CL footie, there’s been one heck of a storm for a while…

  70. ozgunner10 says:

you lot might be over here with me soon – just watched a documentary that shows the UK shoreline is being eroded at a rate of 40 feet a year!! Have you got your tickets? 🙂

  71. frednerk says:

Stan has never kicked a ball in his life…
could’nt give a monkeys about arsenal supporters
    If true……about the arabs
stan will take the money.and fu-k-off…simple

Wenger called rooney an exceptional player a couple of seasons ago.

    Get in there wenger.

  72. rico says:

Now there is food for thought fred, Rooney though, Wenger would come out in a rash thinking about his wages, let alone any signing on fee….

  73. frednerk says:

    Rico
Fergie was full of praise for wenger when he got the little-dutchboy.

we know fergie won’t let him go up the road.
rooney tried that a couple of seasons ago…did’nt he

  74. ozgunner10 says:

I think Fergie already told us to push off, just after his phone call to Wenger taking RVP off us

  75. ozgunner10 says:

i have watched a bit of Barca recently as well and there sits Song on the bench for every minute – good move for him then – and helb, where did he go?

  76. W.A.T.H says:

He sold us that peanut Silvestre Rico, he could of done us a favour and blocked that deal the red nosed tosser

  77. tsgh says:

I still do not get this whole SB best defensive manager ish…, if playing under or in a special defensive team qualifiers someone to become a very good manager then can someone explain why i Ince, Winterburn, Keane and TA06 are/were inept at teaching the act of defending?

How long did TA06 last at Portsmouth after he took over from ‘arry in 2008-2009 season. Less than 4 months and how many goals did his team concede in 16 games? An average of 2.3 goals per game.shocking!

Winterburn one of the so called GG era defenders tenure at BB was also shocking to say the lease.

Yes AW appears not to have a defensive strategy however, we still have the best away defensive record…. so how can that be explained?

  78. Wavy says:

I heard someone say, on 5 live that last night was probably ol’ red nose’s LAST CL game!
What do we make of that. It may go part of the way why Moroneno was so tactfully polite? Job offer in the post Snr?
    Or what?

  79. George says:

W.A.T.H your right we got that turd silvestre off them. What a sabotage!Grani lol…thats one way of getting Rooney to the Emirates.

Apparently showboat Nani is available on a free in August..CAn be as bad as our last freebie Shisha Chamakh

  80. George says:

ozgunner..Hleb and the famous ice cream lol…Song , what a waste of a career. He will end up in Turkey, no offence intended for a Bursaspor or something

  81. ozgunner10 says:

true tsch although i think City’s is as good and have scored more but we’ve won what, 5 of 14 games? Not good enough when you think even spuds have won 8

  82. frednerk says:

    Looks like fergie maybe?
making way for the return of ronaldo.

All very polite from the river-dancer after the goal.

  83. emma says:

    Good day gunnersphere,
Just like Fergie, dailymail, telegraphy I was so distraught by yesterdays result. We ve seen time on time how redface have benefited from our english referees over the years. I cant wait for him to retire so that manure can go into the wilderness like the dippers have
Not surprise about frimmy if the info about him leaving this summer is true.

  84. Judge me On May says:

    Afternoon… Great site, great post..
I can’t believe some fans still defending wenger .
We have been here millions times highlighting our defence frailties..
Same problems same mistakes over 8 years..
Insisting on playing players who don’t add anything because they either shite or not fit or both
Substitutions and tactics wrong most of the time..
Not buying a better gallkeaper is always gonna cost you..
Players not motivated and regressing badly..
If all that is not wengers fault then he should tell us who’s . I don’t think the board is to blame on that..
Season after season, window after window he failed to act..
Some people thought we were on the up and RVP was a fool to join a club in decline at the start of the season… well..
Last point is santi who is the only world class player beside wilshere imo.. He is creative, intelegent and not bad when it comes to scoring goals in his 1st season.. He does track back and help the defence sometimes, but that’s not what we bought him for.. and picking on him and praising Ramsey because he tries hard, though he doesn’t contribute anything of value is just.. well wengerism.. Favouritism.. or whatever u want to call it..

  85. Bradster says:

Doubt the men on the take change when the mob boss changes. Status quo until the whole system is cleaned up.

  86. W.A.T.H says:

It’s currently 4 cases of red vs 2 cases or white Lee so the reds are winning mate….. Goat…. is that the new tesco’s burger..?

  87. emma says:

oz – how did they sanction that match to be played on that waterlogged pitch baffles me
rico – Fergie has being getting away with such fouls in the EPL. If eboue’s was deemed a red, don’t see why that wasn’t a red. I heard he is still crying himself in the dressing room 😆

  88. ozgunner10 says:

i know emma – what struck me was how much better our keeper is overhead than Schez even in these conditions his handling is better – that no7 olson is his name? Nice player. Gnaby looks lazy type to me?

  89. rico says:

😆 emma. I did laugh when Roy Keane threw a tantrum after the game. Talk about laying the boot into your old boss ….

  90. ozgunner10 says:

illev i think – very solid young man, hasn’t dropped a single shot/cross yet – the defense looks a street above the firsts as well hahah – 150% effort going in on both sides

  91. rico says:

    Welcome ‘Judge me on May’..

Thanks re the post and site, we try our best 😉

I blame the whole lot of them, from the board down…

  92. Kevin KJ Downton says:

Read all about it! Read all about it!

Freddie Starr ate my hamster. The Hillsborough disaster was caused by Liverpool fans. The Iraqis have weapons of mass destruction. Aliens have landed on Earth. Spurs fan found with half a brain……

So the Daily Mail says Stan and Gazidis have a deal. Stan sells his shares and Gazidis gets £5 million. Sounds good, it fits in with all the other stuff that is being reported, so it must be true lets all get indignant and annoyed about our rubbish club and spread more negativity.

Just one tinsy winsy little question, sorry to be a killjoy and throw a spanner in the works but: Is this true?

If it is, how does the hack at the Mail have access to what must surely be a confidential arrangement?

Was it the office cleaner? Did the man who puts the numbers on the back of the shirts grass up Gazidis? Perhaps the chefs mum, who works in the bookmakers, overheard Stan and Gazidis talking, when they were betting the money put aside for our world class striker, on the Bayern game? Perhaps Theo told Carl, who told Jack, who mentioned it to his Mum and she was overheard in Asda talking about it, while buying her weekly shop and a Womans Weekly?

So who was the source that are causing the Arsenal fans to take to the forums. Here is a clue: Un-named.

There is an obvious giveaway if anyone can be bothered to read between the lines.

‘an un-named source’, ‘a club insider’, ‘according to our sources’

I have a rule in life. I never believe gossip or heresay, I refuse to condemn people based on other peoples views. And I certainly wouldn’t watch a soap for those reasons.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck – it is usually a duck. Or Chris Waddle.

  93. ozgunner10 says:

fabulous win from the kids in Inter’s back yard – 150% effort, they worked their socks off for each other – very impressed. CSK Moscow next

  94. Wavy says:

Kjd, one thing is for sure, we will never know who spilled the beans, because hacks never reveal their sources! Bingo. It’ a whole new? Creative writing game called j’accuse ( but there ‘s not one shred of evidence or proof of the truth! Double bingo!
Meanwhile in the real world folk are giving birth to kittens! Now there is a story for you!

  95. W.A.T.H says:

Well done to the next-gen lads….. Great result knocking out the champions on their own turf…!

  96. ozgunner10 says:

thanks for the link Emma – got two hours of great entertainment out of that. How i wish the first team would put in a game like that. Huge effort all the way round for 93 minutes and so many good things about the over all shape and setup

  97. emma says:

oz – Impressed with illev, sczesny should watch his back. Impressed with the CB that was replaced Hajrovic. Then agha, bellerin, yennaris were other positives

  98. ozgunner10 says:

yep on the keeper, very very good – i thought Olsson was outstanding as well – also agree on the big CB, very good positional sense and very calm under pressure – uumm are these Arsenal players? hahah

  99. emma says:

oz – That was a no nonsense defending by the lads as well. Didn’t see much of akpom but his movement upfront was good. Gnabry never turned up. Pitch was unplayable

  100. ozgunner10 says:

agree we were a bit toothless up top but having two up there kept them on their toes and again agree on pitch, why the hell was the fans as well? They had none?

  101. W.A.T.H says:

No Oz didn’t watch mate just had the live update feed going on the pc….! Terry Burton has always worked well with the younger players…! Good move bringing him back to the club. Lots of good things being said about Olsson and we all know with Yennaris you get nothing but 100% from the lad he’s proper Arsenal. Dev will be pleased he scored the goal he loves Yennaris.

  102. ozgunner10 says:

as Emma said, watching those old fashioned CB’d calm and steady hoofing everything out and taking no chances was refreshing as well – ok we early start so off to bed on a positive note – night mate. Night all

  103. George says:

Yennaris is a v good player W.A.T.H, and should get more playing time with the 1st team.

As for Iliev and Olsson, Id really want them to have a loan in the championship to see if they can handle the physicality of PL football..

  104. Wavy says:

It sounds like the children’s eleven have not been exposed to the Wenger method of coaching!
Hence they win as they are well coached by the diminutive Terry Burton. The emphsis here is they clearly understand their respective roles and play as a team

Will TB now be side lined too?

  105. W.A.T.H says:

George, I think Nico would of played a lot more for the 1st team if it had not been for his injury. He loves the club he has passion, heart and is a good player… everything we need in the first team that others lack part of the above three requirements.

Will see now if they see him more of a midfielder than they do a right back.

  106. Scott from Oz says:

Yennaris was terrific for us V Utd last season, and basically disappeared.
Good to see him score the winner, and i hope to see him in first team soon.
    Morning all.

  107. rico says:

    Hi Scott…

Sadly, I am soon off up the wooden ones so have to say goodnight to you and all….

    have a good day/night all…

    ‘Til tomorrow…..

  108. allezkev says:

Great performance by our youngsters yesterday.

Good to see Yennaris getting some positive action after an injury ridden season.

    Always poxy injuries isn’t it?
Afobe, Frimpong, Henderson, Gnabry, Yennaris, Eisfeld, whenever our youngsters look like they’re making some progress, poxy injuries cut them down…

  109. Bradster says:

    Morning all,
I see Rooney can be for sale for 20m. Great buy for us but Fergie wion’t do us any favours, he’ll probably sell him abroad.

  110. Scott from Oz says:

    Bugger Rooney.
A great player, but an ever greater ego to deal with.
If the rumours are true, then the question must be asked…..why is Fergie letting him go??
    Morning all.

  111. Scott from Oz says:

AK, again i ask the question…..do our guys do much technical training, soft training and not enough tough work?
I had a break last week and visited a mate who is one of Australia’s best greyhound breeders and trainers.
The amount of physical work his dogs do each day was basically twice that of the workload normally accepted as reasonable.
His dogs rarely break down, and they are awesome physical specimens.
This guys is a multi millionaire through greyhounds alone.
It was an eye opener, and is a theory that can be put into practice with any athlete.

    Rico

Sitting here with an ice cold beer in 32 degree heat in Launceston. This global warming is gr8 for us, more please 😎

Anyway, thinking about The Arsenal as it stands. When Bertie Mee won the double & George Graham was winning tropheys Arsenal was known as boring boring Arsenal. But at least they won cups.

As it stands with “silent” Stan, Arsenal is boring to the point where I can’t even be bothered watching them anymore, and they win nothing. The Club is stagnating with the drab accountancy method determining the way the club moves forward.

Me, I have my Tigers, so I pity those who live for the one club. Time for a new direction that does not involve any of the incumbants except maybe Steve Bould.

Stan Kranky should sell & put all of us out of our misery, coz he has proven himself to be a boring, self centred Yank who couldn’t give a XXXX about Arsenal, the football club/the fan base.

    Yankie Go Home!!!!

  113. Scott from Oz says:

    And a Tiger supporter lol.
    Go you Swannies!!
I have a mate who lives on the Tamar River.
