Forget Bayern Munich, today is far more important!…….

Morning all,

What on earth is going within the club?

We have gone from having a website that tells us nothing, to a new funky one which every player wants to have his word on the front page.

There are articles from Wenger, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Coquelin, Sagna, Diaby and… Vermaelen!

Shock horror eh!!

Anyway, be gone with all the chit chat, all the talk about how gelled we are and ready to face Bayern Munich. Today there is a far more important issue to address!

That is of course, Blackburn in the FA Cup, the one domestic cup we really have a chance of winning.

But let’s not assume that Blackburn are simply turning up to make up the numbers, they want to win this big time!!

Here are a few match stats!!

Head-to-head

• This is the 120th competitive meeting of two clubs that first clashed in 1901. Arsenal have won 58 of the previous 119, and Blackburn 30.

• Arsenal beat Blackburn 3-0 in the semi-finals of the FA Cup in April 2005 and went on to win the competition for the 10th and most recent time.

• Blackburn beat the Gunners 1-0 in the 1928 semi-finals and went on to lift the silverware for the sixth and most recent occasion.

• This is the eighth time they have drawn each other in the competition: Arsenal lead 4-3.

• The clubs last met in the Premier League in February last year, when Arsenal humiliated their Lancashire opponents 7-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal

• Arsenal are the second most successful club in FA Cup history.

• The Gunners have never been knocked out of the FA Cup by a lower league club in the Arsene Wenger era, and have ended the interest of 28 such clubs since losing to Sheffield United in 1996.

• The North London club have progressed beyond the fifth round in only two of the seven seasons since last lifting the silverware.

Blackburn Rovers

• Blackburn are yet to concede a goal in this season’s FA Cup.

• They are one of three Championship clubs trying to eliminate Premier League opposition this weekend, but have been knocked out themselves on the last three occasions they have been drawn against top-flight clubs.

• Victory would make it their most successful run since reaching the semi-finals in 2007.

Don’t you just love all that old stuff. It’s a cup game and that means all the records, home form and ‘stats’ go out the window.

This is simply about two sides going head to head in a one off fixture, where pride will determine who wins, rather that quality.

It’s about who wants to win more, who cares more and who will fight more until that final whistle blows……

Will that be us??

Have a good day all…..

COYRRR’S!!

    Morning all…

Off out for the day, catch up a bit later, hopefully to talk about a comprehensive home victory against a side who are yet to concede a goal in this FA Cup campaign!

    Laters..

  2. tsGH says:

    morning all,

Indeed Rico, as it is said in some quarters always ‘keep your eyes on the prize’!

The annual domino effect should not happen this week as for the first time in 4 years we are not playing either manure, stoke or marcelona in a 3 game week in February…

Then again we have ‘Ref Mike Death’ appointed to induce the pain on the Arsenal faithful.

  3. allezkev says:

Today it’s all about sensible rotation…

That is, putting out a strong enough team to do the job, whilst saving key players for the Bayern game…

  4. allezkev says:

Having a strong bench as insurance, could be the way to go?

But I hope Arsene gives some of our talented youngsters a game.

Tbh, i’m more scared of that cheat Mike Dean, than I am of Blackburn…

  5. allezkev says:

I don’t disagree Wath, but if our squad isn’t strong enough to beat Blackburn, whilst resting Jack, Verm, Kozzer, Walcott, Podolski, for example, then it’s a poor state of affairs mate, it really is….

  6. allezkev says:

Ferguson rotates, and he’s a genius. Why?
    Maybe it’s in his preparations…

It’s about time that our players stopped acting like victims.

Wenger has one of the strongest squads, technically, in the EPL.

It’s between their ears where the problems lay.

So Wenger/Bould/Banfield, has to kick somes arses, and stop treating our players like babies…

Like I said, Blackburn don’t worry me.

But Mike Dean is a cheat, and he does worry me…

  7. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Like I said the other day, I’d be horrified if we don’t get the results. Come on you gunnners!

Hello, all. Awfully quiet here today. Kev’s hearing the echo of his own thoughts. 😛

  8. W.A.T.H says:

Spot on Potter Dean is a complete and utter arsehole who hates us… about time Wenger said we never get any decisions when he is the ref… that’s not untrue is it…? playing 12 men before we even start but as you say AK even a 2nd 11 should beat Blackburn with their eyes shut…!

  9. W.A.T.H says:

Arsenal; Szczesny, Coquelin, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Diaby, Rosicky, Arteta, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud

  10. southyorkshiregunner says:

See, Wenger is taking it seriously !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His starting lineup includes his first choice keeper and not the italian roadweeper……

  11. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Coquelin is the new Flamini?
Hopefully he’ll bugger off to Milan then…… and end up playing for three quid a game

  12. DutchGooner10 says:

    Afternoon Goonerdom worshippers,

FA Cup time – my favourite competition outside the EPL title challenge. Love final day parade when team coaches are tracked by helicopters and the world turns its attention to the most nostalgic cup on the planet.

  13. W.A.T.H says:

Flamini made up for his latest contract SYG with his first one he got off them at 130K a week…! You can bet his current one still isn’t for peanuts either…! Well least he happy with all that money and not playing… Another mercenary footballer…!

  14. HunGooner says:

    Morning,

Finally it is matchday, happy with the team selection so far, hope we put the game to bed by HT. 3:0 to the Arsenal

  15. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
1.52 am and all is not well…i am knackered.
A good result will at least justify this madness 🙂

  16. DutchGooner10 says:

WATH the weakness on the flanks across the backline raises some concern. One injury and we’re up shit creek. My strategy would be to go 4-4-2 with Gerv dropped for Walcott. Build a lead first and defend it with second choice from the bench.

  17. agirlagunner says:

You won’t be ruining it, WATH. You’ll be prettifying it. 😀 😀

Hi, Dutch, you all good now??

    Goonie, how’s our honeymooner? 😉 🙂

  18. tsGH says:

    Afternoon all,

Mike Bean is being reasonably fair thus far. Anytime he awards an infringement he acts like a tyler in his white gloves. lol

Very concerned about Ox doing his best impression of Pennant…

  19. agirlagunner says:

    Ginge, haha. 🙂

Goonie, you really should have gone on one. I’m sure it’s cold there and CR or PR is just a plane ride away. 😛

  20. tsGH says:

I love the way players like Dann look world class when facing us but look ‘sub-ordinary’ every other weekend. lol

  21. tsGH says:

I gather that for folks like yourself, Will, Scott, Oz, CG and Goonie and all the faithful gooners living in different time zones i.e EST. 😉

  22. agirlagunner says:

Yep, Ginge, loss of sleep mostly. 🙂 Tippy tappy tippy tappy tip… Surely, we are capable of better??

  23. W.A.T.H says:

Just heard a cracker off my mate in the pub… can someone pls check and see if the goals are maybe a few feet wider in Africa…?

  24. joaquim Moreira says:

he is done what he must doing. Not scored? ok, but was the only Arsenal player who is capable of create a really opportunity.

  25. Lewis says:

Agreed TS. we never score from corners! It’s always the same with gerv tho JM, gets in good positions, only to make a complete mess of the finish.

  26. southyorkshiregunner says:

You can possess all the speed and skill you want …. No good if you got no brain to determine the final ball ….. he’s a fcukng half-wit….

  27. southyorkshiregunner says:

Arsenal vs Leeds revisited …… A gutless performance from gutless fcukng players … not wanting to be injured for champs league

  28. Scott from Oz says:

Creativity and composure is what we lacked in the final 25 yards, but that is a common problem.
I say again our overall play was could and we dominated, but we did everything wrong once in a scoring position.

  29. eastsidepaul says:

“Big pressure on Arsene Wenger” are they having a laugh, the guy would relegate the club and still get his 7 mil a year salary.

The club has become a joke.

  30. Scott from Oz says:

Agag, i meant the story would be different with our comments lol.
Everyone would be saying we played well 🙂

  31. tsGH says:

A fun packed outing here at least until tuesday. It happens every year and the common factor in february is always Mr. Bean e.g penalty in the 11 min against the dippers.

Enjoy your evening and don’t stress too much. Your heart is more important than over paid primadona …

  32. eastsidepaul says:

Ah I forgot its the classic out of everything in one week week!
Bayern are no Blackburn, we should just roll by them…

  33. GunnerDNA says:

hahahaaaaaaaaaaaa in AW we trust, sleep and don’t wake, 8 yrs without a trophy, talk everyday about invincibles which is enough for some

  34. Scott from Oz says:

Agag, Gervinho is a different player in our shirt, unfortunately.
I can’t believe he is such a shit finisher in a red shirt when we see goals he scores for his national side.
What goes on inside his head??

  35. DutchGooner10 says:

Season over peeps. 4th spot trophy doesn’t get my nipples hard. Footbull shit we play. Told ya, build a comfortable lead not chase one.

  36. ozgunner10 says:

just plain laughable – got to admit though he had it coming after giving it lip all week about how many comp’s we can win hahahah

  37. joaquim Moreira says:

again the same. Three replaces. The other team has the ball. they go forward and we have 3 defenders versus 4 forwards. The midfields out of their position. The team is completely unorganize on the pitch One oportunity. One goal. Out of the Fa cup.
The replaces were changing the game in the opposite way because errors of ourselves, Lack of concentration and specially, we were not talking with ourselves.

  38. ozgunner10 says:

wow the net is going off big time – bad day for the professor again and all with the ‘best squad i have had’ hey Arsene?

  39. agirlagunner says:

AW can’t live on past glories. He just can’t. And these players should buck up their ideas. Can’t even beat a crap team. Bayern players must be rubbing their hands in glee.

  40. frednerk says:

What the fu-k has that performance got to do with the ref,

to win a game you have to gamble and force mistakes when a team are digging in with 8 behind the ball..
    Once again Basic fu-king football,

  41. kel says:

tippy tappy football, No end product as usual, and in my mind Gervhino is now in the bracket of chamack, cygan, Stepanovs, gutless and useless…. 2 silver memberships 1 red membership will not be getting renewed this june thats for sure.

  42. stevepalmer1 says:

Evening all, First of all, thanks for the link Dutch very good picture,
Well what can you say about that pathetic performance. Gervinho please send him back to Africa what a waste of space he is. If you ever put Diaby up against Ya Ya Toure you can see they are like chalk and cheese Diaby frightened to go forward and wild horses couldnt hold Ya Ya. Rosiski is probably on a diferent wave length than the rest of them, he actually wants to win. Pass Pass Pass possession Possession possession but never a killing ball. Czezesney has a couple of touches throughout the game and a simple catch but not him palm it straight back to one of their’s the mans a joke we should have replaced him a long time ago his ego is bigger than his flappy frame. when are we going to employ a goalkeeper instead of an excuse for one. Blackburn Rovers deserved the win we will have another dud season because we never learn. Absolutely Pathetic.

  43. rico says:

What an awful result, absolutely awful….

Listened to 5live, all possession and nothing at the end, is that about it?

And I bet ‘you know who’ blames Sian Massey!

  44. Lee says:

We are a fucking joke of a team, get rid of all shit that’s clogging us up! Starting with Wenger the bloke has lost it, this has to stop!!

  45. Lee says:

Trying to play Barcelona style football with average players just doesn’t work…..Bayern must be shitting themselves!!!

  46. agirlagunner says:

I know Szczesny has fans but… His talk is better than his game. We need a new keeper, too. This one has MUCH to learn.

  47. agirlagunner says:

I don’t care what rubbish AW comes out with now, that was unacceptable. How much are these players paid again??

  48. ozgunner10 says:

if he had any decency he’d move over and let someone else have a shot at taking this team forward – his seasons are getting progressively worse and plenty are simply over his ramblings

  49. joaquim Moreira says:

Bradford first; Blackburn second. We were out of the cups by those two teams. they shot one and won. We had a few opportunities, 20 corners and 30 seconds of lack concentration and we were out.

  50. frednerk says:

Had a drink with a couple of millwall fans last night
Both of them were telling me what a great manager wenger is,
I said to them……in the last 6 months I’ve not spoken to one gooner who thinks that.

  51. agirlagunner says:

Gervinho was worse today, rico. unfortunately.

What’s all the more galling is that Blackburn has one good shot and takes it. No point having all the possession and doing nothing with it. Our players should be ashamed of themselves. Rosicky was good though.

  52. BigSanty says:

In any cup match Gervinho plays for us (Arsenal) we end up losing them despite him getting clear cuts & chances to win the match for us… Is he a curse to Arsenal or what? Cus in his national side he is very dorminant but when playing for Arsenal its the reverse. AW should beware of this man Gervinho now as he has virtually cost us of two cups competitions (against Bradford in capital cup semifinal & now against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup) the only realisable compitition we were in to stop the trophy drought. And now we are to face Bayern Munich with low spirit after this defeat… Really this is badly timed as we have been a good team without Gervinho & now he has come back to to instill the low spirit which we have overcame in our camp in his absence. As it seem he is now an obstacle to any meaningful competition we are in and should be avoided. He’s mistakes are too massive to swallow as it has left us derailed & backward. Arsenal should sell him off for the progress of our dear club & for his progress too. We can’t take his mistake & miss chances any longer as we are losing matches after it…

  53. DutchGooner10 says:

I’m bloody livid. F*cling cheap talk all week. Shut your gobs you gits!!! Bite down those sticks cuz spanking gonna last for the rest of the season.

  54. rico says:

Been saying the same Dg, all the talk off the field about how good they are, the team spirit, the togetherness etc etc etc…

Well it’s all bollox if they can’t do what they get paid for…

I wish AW had selected his strongest eleven and put Bayern to the back of his mind. But then he did that for Bradford and that didn’t work did it….

  55. frednerk says:

You can’t blame one player for this,
It’s lack of direction all over
Oxo crosses the ball..who the fu-k’s in the box..not one midfield player followed oxo’s run’s..absolute crap.

  56. ozgunner10 says:

who brought him and still rates him highly enough to be playing important games BigSanty? What did he call him the finest player at the African Cup, obviously wasn’t reading the fan pages

  57. rico says:

But they are pro footballers fred, they should know what to do, and they have been of late, why not today?

Breaks my heart Esp, and makes me very angry too…

BigS, I hope he goes, even if it’s on loan, I can’t forgive him for that miss in the CO Cup. We should be at Wembley next weekend and would be if he knew how to finish….

  58. emma says:

No urgency. Diaby slows the game to a snail speed. Ox has retarded. Gervinho has always being Gervinho. Mike Dean is our nemesis. No direction

  59. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico they should subscribe to Oprah’s book club and do Tupperware parties.

Agag you’re right Chestnut clowns about

  60. rico says:

    That is dreadful Esp….

    I honestly thought we’d turned a corner Dg….

Just watching Oldham, that’s the way to undo a strong defence. What a super goal by the underdogs….

    Why can’t we do that?

Well we can, just not when Gervinho plays!!

  61. agirlagunner says:

I struggle to find anything positive about being an AFC fan right now. We are a laughingstock. Two big matches coming up, too.

  62. BigSanty says:

You are right Rico “not just when Gervinho plays” cus when he plays… The team plays to his rhythm & lack of drive & urgency to win a match. We need him loan off or better sell him as he does not have a footbal brain of Arsenal standard.

  63. Adam says:

Just back from the game. A glass of Rioja in my hand and a dinner in the oven.

The rest of this comment has been removed for tomorrow – thanks Adam…

  64. Adam says:

Rico. He HAS to go in the summer. The alternatives are just to awful to contemplate. The whole club needs a massive shake-up.
    So what’s new?

  65. BigSanty says:

    Agiriagunner
Yours is better… Mine is that I now hide wherever I am & upon that,I dare not intaract on any club issue as everybody knows am a thorogh gunner to the blood whose club is stuttering couple that our Mr Bean of coach is tight fisted to buy us quality players to compete. So what do I have to offer? Really its not easy being an Arsenal fan now as all sorts of insults & abuses are channelled to us supporters all because of AW retarded ideas which is archaic to mordern football now.

  66. joaquim Moreira says:

They say on Facebook, players and AW were closed 50 minutes in the dressing room
I think Gervinho played well. In the 1st half was one of the best players.
I can’t understand how we lost a game with 3 replaces, the game begun and everyone was completely out of their positions. That is a crucial error for everybody and lack of respect of the capacity of the other team. I repaeat: was the fisrt and the only one during the match that 4 forwards played versus 3 defenders. We could not win and not score but probably BR didn’t score. They wre must more interesting in 0-0
Like I said before: crucial errors again in the replaces.

  67. joaquim Moreira says:

second errror (again): we didn’t learn anything for the last game. Why Jenkinson was sent off ? Because Sessegnon was placed at left wing and Jenkinson had got an early yellow card.
The Rovers right back had a yellow card early. Gervinho is most faster and quickly then him (we had seen this a few times in the first half). The solution was obvious: Gervinho at left wing forcing the right back to make fouls or let Gervinho go…
But Gervinho was put in the middle or somewhere else and our left back was sometimes, our left winger…
    Another mistake

  68. Lewis says:

JM, you are talking about us having a tactical approach to games and developing the tactics during the match as events unfold. Sadly, that’s not our team mate. Our motto appears to be just send 11 players out on the pitch, they should know what their doing.

  69. Lewis says:

The management is all reactionary, never proactive. We always have to wait until we’re losing and a goal down for our sad excuse for a coaching team to do anything.

  70. agirlagunner says:

They should be docked their wages for the rest of the season. 😀

BigSanty, these days, I don’t bother to take the mickey out of friends who support other clubs. I have no ammo against them. 😕

JM, that’s exactly the thing. We make crucial errors; AND we don’t recover.

    Adam 🙁 🙁

  71. emma says:

Are we blaming Gerviinho? With the exception of the missed chance, he did very well. The issue was Diaby who held unto the ball for too long bereaved of decision making. He was damn too slow. I thought Wenger would have taken him off instead he took rosicky off. Ox is another player whom i thought was very poor on the day. His decision making when it comes to the final third is worst than Gervinho. We had a lot of crosses just like in every othe rmatches but can’t get to the end of the ball. We look lame in crosses or set pieces.I like Giroud but he shouldn’t be the one to lead our attack. He is not good with his footwork and a bit slow. We need a quality finisher upfront. I thought today’s match would have being an avenue to thrust Podolski upfront. I believe he is our most clinical finisher

  72. agirlagunner says:

emma, Gervinho is taking the heat because it’s not the first time he has missed an excellent opportunity; he does so in matches that are make or break, too.

I don’t care if Diaby doesn’t drink, or smoke. He can choose not to eat, or breathe or whatever. I want him out.

  73. joaquim Moreira says:

I’m agree emma. rosicky was not in the pitch on the 1st half but was motivate in the second specially after his good shot on to the bar. Diaby-roscicky-Arteta were doing the same thing.
Ox is a case study. His final production was very poor

  74. Adam says:

I really cannot believe how anybody can believe that Gervinho did well. He was absolutely bloody awful. He hides from the ball. Go to the ground and you will see it. He has no confidence and avoids getting involved unless it is unavoidable. Strikers, good ones, score goals. Gervinho should never wear an Arsenal shirt again unless of course he is keeping his talent hidden for some reason. Any ST holder who has paid through the nose to watch this shower of shite should be offered next season’s ticket for half price. Wenger has been dishing up this crap for too long and today is merely a logical conclusion of a man who has watched the game pass him by. He had tens of millions to spend in January and all he comes out with these days is tosh like he could have signed Bale, as if that in itself is one sort of badge of bloody honour. It is bollox.

  75. Adam says:

Honestly Rico. Arsenal are lucky with their fans and how they have stuck by the team despite Wenger dishing up a shit sandwich every season. They deserve, at the very least, a manager and a board who actually show some fire and some ambition. The club are a soft touch. I discovered today that the reason Arshavin is nowhere to be seen is because his head isn’t right because of some personal reasons. Ninety grand a week for this crap. Bugger off. Get out. Go away and find some other mugs to pay you that money and keep your trousers zipped up. FFS.

  76. rico says:

It’s not me you need to convince Adam.

You know Lee Dixon said that he doubts Wenger will be sacked but wonders if he might walk away. He reckons that everything is now in place for us to step up and compete. He says the board want us to start winning again….

He says Kroenke wants us to start winning trophies….

Does he know something we don’t??

  77. Adam says:

All any of us know is what we see before our eyes this season and for several previously. Don’t be frightened of change I say. Change is a part of evolution. Arsenal really, really need to move on. Today we went down with a whimper. Scandalous.

  78. stevepalmer1 says:

It has to be said that i have been behind Wenger for years, blind faith no doubt but there comes a time when even the hardest supporter wants change. Adams right if you pay top prices, this kind of display is unacceptable, He won’t spend and its obvious to all that buying second string players is not the way to go. Even Amatuer managers like us know that quality is expensive but if you want to be the top team you need top players. Wenger has had a fair chance and failed he has not learned that supporters have had enough of him, his ideas are not working so the only answer is a new broom.

  79. allezkev says:

Sir Stevo, it doesn’t have to be a case of spending mega-bucks on new, more expensive players.

It could be just a case of utilising what you have in a more efficent manner…

Tbh, I haven’t seen the game today. But sadly, I feel that I don’t have to, to have a feel on how it went today, as it is something I have seen many times previously…

A disorganised defence seems to have done for us again…

Kozzer and Verm make a good partnership, don’t they?!!! 🙁

  80. DutchGooner10 says:

Laudrup Rico, it ain’t rocket science. But Syrup rather rings up cows on his ranch than off load a bull in his China shop.

  81. stevepalmer1 says:

Not down to the defence AK, Goalkeeper error. he threw everything into confusion. a shot straight at him he just needed to hold on to the ball but the pratt palmed it straight to one of theirs, our defence was let down by dibolical handling.

  82. DutchGooner10 says:

    Kev

Laudrup demonstrates he can perform without bags of cash. Our talents won’t be wasted under his command and he’s able to find gems on a shoestring budget. Being a former midfield general Laudrup knows how to organize the axis.

  83. allezkev says:

Fair enough Steve. I did not see the game.

You have to question Gerry Peyton as well.
Since Bob Wilson left, we’ve had quite a few of these kinds of flappy performances.

  84. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico

From what I’ve seen of the Swans, he leads a tight knit, comfortable in possession with quick ball distribution, effective and decisive towards goal and able to work any top team a sweat between their bums. We scrapped a result against Swansea with triple their budget.

  85. stevepalmer1 says:

I watch many games on the tv and most of the keepers seem to prefer a punch rathar than a catch, why this is i dont know. years ago a keeper would dive full length and still catch the ball. Maybe the balls of today are to difficult to hold

  86. DutchGooner10 says:

    SteveP

Maarten Stekelenburg available in the summer from Roma. Holland’s number one stalwart, at 26 years of age. Change in keeper coach will suit me as well.

  87. southyorkshiregunner says:

The 2000-5 side could have won much, much, much more if they had been MANAGED right …. We could have won everything in 2004 ….
Managing and controlling are completely different things….
Wenger tries to control when he should just manage……
He’s a failing meglomaniac … Like Brian Clough he is ticking over on his past reputation …

Gervais is a fcukng half-wit, made even more worse by his fancy dan body language, blind alley runs and his fcukng nazi salutes …
Diaby is a fcukng cunumdrum ….. A waste of space ….
Yet they play? First names on the team sheet ….

Probably the most important game in our season, and they play …. I fcukng knew they would… everyone did….

Wenger has his own agenda ……

If Gervais had hit a couple of goals like he should have done and Diaby would have bossed the midfield like he certainly should have done, they would be dead-certs for the starting line-up on Tuesday v’s Bayern ..
    Thank fcuk they didn’t …..

Wenger has his own agenda …

Chamberlain is a boy – he can be excused for the time being … .

Why is Arshavin getting paid for doing nothing … Because Wenger cannot control him …? I’m sure he’d like to control his baby-faced diddy-little Russian, but he can’t ….
Wenger can however control Diaby and Gervais and for the time being Chamberlain ….

Wenger has his own agenda ….

Wenger got rid of Gilberto Silva, Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg more or less at the same time …. The reason was most likely because they were in decline …. Even so, they were still all better than both Diaby and Gervais ….

Wenger has his own agenda ….

  88. stevepalmer1 says:

evening DG, i haven’t liked any of our keepers for quite a few years, i look at a keeper in much the same way as i do centre forwards you very seldom win things with a duff one although Giroud is doing OK he wouldnt be my choice same with Chez

Night Adam. Drowning that sorrow with superb vino aren’t ya? Got myself handcrafted wine on 30 year old oak barrels from South Africa for tonight. Gotta tickle yourself, can’t depend on match days to provide glee.

Anyway, I am cheesed off enough, I’m off for the day….

    Night all….

20 corners and non-existent threats pivoted against one cross being clowned sums up your assessment perfectly, me thinks. (I quite agree with it.)

  92. stevepalmer1 says:

Trouble with Wenger is when he does buy a decent player he wants them to play in a different position. Arshven was a good player but as a winger he wasn’t used right The never liked the wing now we have a mixed up kid with talent who goes to the wing to cut inside. Jack wilshere will also get Wenger treatment he will also bugger him up the ox is playing so far back his knackered when he gets to the place he should have started from. Arteta is creative so he plays him well back whats all that about Ramsey comes on doesn’t know where he is now Sagna’s going to struggle. We never have a settled back line Kosi Verm BFG Gibbs could be anybody next game a settled team get the feel of a game they know who is covering them and they need that feeling to feel comfortable. we all have off days but they will become less when you feel comfortable.

There are 22 players at the start of the season to challenge for all honours. Yet we seem to have at least half our squad full of players still building a career. Even in their mid-twenties. Such collective lacks cohesion whichever position they occupy.

“”Any ST holder who has paid through the nose to watch this shower of shite should be offered next season’s ticket for half price.””

Just back ! We discussed that on the way home, one point raised was as today was our 4th home cup match and Tuesday is likely to be our last this year, the club will have to refund two matches from all season tickets. But what category will they pay out at. A,B,or C.

We went onto that pitch totally disorganised. I don’t think there is a tactical talk before kick off, our first two corners were from the left and then we got a third on the right , no-one went to take it because they did not know who was going to. In the end The ox went out there and played the first of his either first defender efforts or else the over the heads one or straight into the keeper’s arms . The stats on the screen at the end said we had 16 corners with no result , it also said that we had 26 shots 14 on target. I don’t remember those. Mind you I was half asleep throughout , bored witless . I don’t know about Wenger but get Diaby and Gervinho out of my club.

  95. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all….well, morning my time.
    Gervino…..woeful.
He has never improved for us even after we thought he had the talent early on.
The guy can play, just not wearing an Arsenal shirt.
Ox was terrific except for one important part of his game….the final ball…..it was shocking.
Rosicky was a nin event in the first half, but probably our best in the second.
Coquelin was our best player over all.
Giroud toiled but had little help with very, very few decent crosses.
Szczesny had one thing to do and stuffed it up, gifting them a goal.
Our defence did nothing wrong in the entire game, and i can’t understand those bagging them at all.
Wenger should have staggered the changes…..3 on in one go stopped any rhythm we had and though not the major reason we conceded, it allowed the opportunity to arise.
People can whinge and whine about getting Wenger out but what is the point guys??
Whether or not the fans want him there is irrelevant as Stan loves him, so is there any point carrying on about it?
We had a side on the field more than capable of winning that game, so blaming Wenger for this particular loss is a little strange, yet no surprise from the mindless ones that blame him for everything that goes wrong in he world!!
The players need a massive kick up the arse, the club playing list needs a massive transformation and i do not really care whether Wenger stays or goes, because the problems are much bigger than him.
If he goes and we gain succees, then we all know who to blame.
If he goes and we fall in a heap, then we know he was holding things together.
I guess if he goes, we will at least know the truth, so probaly it is best for all parties.
All in all, our last chance at silverware, and we went down not fighting, but with a whimper.

  96. GunnerDNA says:

The day arsene fucks off it should be a gooner holiday. no work no school, he is an embarrassment to the club, we have become the laughing stock in english football

  97. Scott from Oz says:

Dna, again, it is all you say, and it does nobody any good.Tell us who you would bring in and let us debate that.
At least it would actually be constructive.
Why anyone would prefer Wenger to leave before Stan is beyond comprehension though.

Arsene said that he didn’t need get get in a striker in January. I guess the reason being, he never cared about winning the FA Cup. Its all about winning the CL. His obsession with winning the CL has derailed The Arsenal IMO. He doesn’t care about what the fans want. He only cares about what he thinks the fans should want. And if the fans wants differ from his then obviously in his eyes we don’t have a clue, coz Arsene Knows 👿

Its time for a contingency plan be put into place for life after Wenger @ The Arsenal.

  99. rico says:

    Morning all…

GG9, totally agree re the CL, what’s the point really? Fight for the PL, if we get 2nd then yes, a CL spot is good but there are two domestic cups I’d much rather win than a fluky CL which is rigged in any case.

7 changes to a side which did so so well at Sunderland was far too many, it was stupid.

BB maybe in the Championship, but only just and AW underestimated them… Play the strongest, or as near as possible. Get the goals on the board and then rest players. He always does it the other way round.

I’m so so downhearted this morning, and that defeat could easily have been avoided….

  100. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Agreed. It doesn’t feel any better today does it?
The “”real” attendance figures yesterday speak volumes. Fans have basically just lost interest in Wenger. Walking out of the stadium nobody was surprised at the result. Upset? Yes, but not surprised. We are customers of a once-proud club but our season is effectively over. Barring something untoward we are starting the mental battle with ourselves as to whether we want to pay thousands of pounds again next season for another emotional kicking by Wenger. But, isn’t it fantastic that we could have signed Bale? that’s the real thing on Our manager’s mind. Wenger must be dreaming of how much he could have sold him for and what French or African flake he could have bought for a tiny proportion of that fee.

  101. rico says:

Morning Adam, no it doesn’t, in fact it’s worse.

Did you see Ian Poulters tweet after the game, now there is a man who never gives up….

  102. allezkev says:

Very eye-opening to go on pro-Wenger blogs and read the comments of previously pro-Wenger bloggers, and how the majority believe that we are seeing the end-game of Wenger’s reign as Arsenal manager.
It could well be true, as reported many times, that Wenger is working harder than ever to turn things around. But the magic is fizzling out, and at an alarming rate.
I suppose the end was never going to be triumphant…
