Flamini double means good triumphs over evil…. Again..!

Well for once in my mind I don’t really care how we played to be totally honest…. We beat that lot in their own back yard and dumped them out the cup. Any win against them be in under 6’s or the ladies the capital cup the tea bag cup or champions league (ok that not gonna happen they never in it)  is always sweet and I just love it.

Both teams made many changes and it showed… I thought we played ok but a few players were rusty and we made some silly mistakes at times but we also have a few players that played well and put in a good shift.

For all those that complain about Flamini and I am one that says he isn’t quick enough any more he made up for that with fight and attitude last night and of course also scored two very well taken goals, the first showing a poachers instinct and the second well what can one say about that… A peach of a volley and didn’t he enjoy it.

I know he’s come in for a lot of stick the last few months and towards the end of last season but I though Giroud last night looked like he just didn’t want to be on the pitch, he was strolling along moaning about fouls and being pushed about instead of just getting on with it and putting himself about…! He was in my mind very poor and due to looking totally disinterested. Campbell put himself about but didn’t really create much and Debuchy in the first half was pretty awful, thankfully he and Arteta improved in the second half. It’s a fine line between rotating players and players coming in who are rusty and lacking match sharpness, It showed last week in Zagreb and to a degree a little bit last night but as said the result was what mattered. We took our chances and could of scored a couple more. Gibbs played way better than in Zagreb and so to the Ox and BFG and Chambers had a solid game along with Ospina although why was there not a shout from the keeper to Chambers for the own goal…? something to learn from hopefully.

A game away to Shef Weds in the next round awaits us and more or less the same team can be expected to be played I would imagine… Lets hope for a similar result. Also a big well done to all the away fans there last night, thought you were excellent and vocal throughout which is always needed down there.

Always nice to put the middlesex swamp dwellers back in their place…. Forever in our shadow… North London is Red.

    Good Afternoon Lovelies and Hunkies.

You know you are shit when Flamini scores two against you.

I really enjoyed the win yesterday….even though I saw the game in fits and starts. I think I barely managed to see a total of 50 mins out of the whole game. Maybe the internet wanted Ollie to play when I was not looking. tbh….Kev said he was not getting any service. but from the little I saw of the game it seemed to me that he was not playing. Which is a pity as I like him as a player.

Watch, you are in danger of upsetting the PC police, making swampster remarks of a derogatory nature and, I think you mentioned caravans yesterday! You know the slime all live in mud huts close to places in f worship or walls, as they are better known! Lol

Good result yesterday. Warms the cockles, a result like that. Flamini the new ‘fox in the box’?
And, I’m most surprised that nobody has made any comments about Arteta! His ‘ampsteads are a proud testament to the skill of his dentist! They glinted in the scums lights and outshone Brenda’s by some wattage. I just hope they have the wings of mercury attached to them, as then the opposition will not pass him by, he will dazzle them with the brightness of his facial muscles! They looked like stars!!

    Afternoon all.

  3. Wath says:

Thanx Lee, How rude of me, I forgot to add “FOYS”

Wavy, the pc police… the sheenies can call who ever they want maye…!

Dev, Ollie for me was walking around sulking as if to say “why am I playing in this 2nd choice team”……! Very poor attitude. Ts said he didn’t get any service but he did nothing to merit any service and didn’t put in any effort what so ever. Aaaron played in fits and starts but ran his socks off and most of the time was running around closing down defenders while Giroud looked on..! Most of the time i stick up for Ollie, like his work ethic and he isn’t world class but does give us options, well last night he just made a perfectly clean shirt a worn clean shirt…!

  4. Hell Raising Devil says:

With Ollie there is something not right.

i do not think its the competition with Theo. Nor is it with contract.

I feel the problem he has is with his wife. I think she wants to go back to France and he cannot do so. Time will tell. But I feel his footballing problems have something to do with his escapade a few months ago and his marital situation

  5. Tai says:

    Good post Wath…

    And afternoon All…

Good performance yesterday even when it was quite edgy before the introduction of Sanchez…that completely changed the tide and ushered in deserved victory…

Who says this team lacks depth?

  6. Wath says:

potter don’t give him ideas mate……………. surely it would be a few million on top of his normal 3million…!?!?

That Flamini strike was a thing of beauty, time seemed to slow down, we took a deep intake of air, and then exhaled as the ball burst into the net of the enemy, the crack from the shot reverberating around a stunned stadium, leaving the red side gasping for more air after witnessing absolute poetry…I suggest watching it again to the Titanic soundtrack.

  8. George says:

    Afternoon troopers

Watched the game yesterday and have to agree OG wasnt himself yesterday. I thought Campbelll did ok, but not enough to start. Gibbs was our best player. Also think Arteta and Debuchy cannot keep up with the pace of the game anymore. Having said that neither can the Flamster, but at least he has earnt his money by dumping the scum out of the cup.

  9. allezkev says:

Flamini has pretty much always played a defensive role at Arsenal, but maybe he really does have goals in them there boots of his…

Worth giving him another go at Leicester perhaps?

  10. Wavy says:

Isn’t Chambers our equal highest scorer with two goals? Own goals that is!

Watch is on my wist, wondering Wath is going on!

  11. Crazy gunner says:

I am really worried about giroud his head is not there…I predicted he would get sent off against Dynamo and wasn’t surprised when it happened…

When things are not working for you as a player you compensate by working hard…he’s wasting too much energy and effort complaining about officials and tackles rather than getting on with the game or putting himself about…

I hope arsene or indeed the older players in the team have a word with him…

  12. Joaquim Moreira says:

    hi HHs!
I think we all understand now, why Bellerin plays and Debuchy not, why Coquelin plays and Arteta or Flamini not, why Campbell not play even be a fighter, but when Alexis came in, the game changed.
So, our squad isn’t deep enought and we haven’t subs for replace the mean line-up in the same way.
Devi: Cazorla is not out for more then 1 game? giroud must play. He was sent off in the Champions so must play in the domestic games.

  13. Micko says:

    Well said Wath,

Flamini, Flamini, dah dah dah dah dah dah da da (to the tune of the Sweeney) old skool lol !

Great nite out, good to see we’re taking this competition seriously & not under-estimating the small teams for a change, au revoir tottenham !

    Roll on Wednesday, nite Gooners.

  14. allezkev says:

You gotta go to Hillsborough now Mick, you follow them all the way to Wembley…

I’ll be right behind you, watching it on SKY.

  15. tsgh says:

Wath do you know the tinkerman is the only manager AW has not beaten in the league….
We can’t underestimate them with their form the way it is and last season’s scoreline was deceptive too imo…
    Morning Scott,Rico and all

  16. tsgh says:

You got to love the media for those who want to believe klopp is a Liverpool fan.Lol.
Odd that when per said he was an Arsenal fan they couldn’t believe a foreigner could support Arsenal.
If they get lookout they will realise klopp on Tuesday or Wednesday night’s is vastly different to club on Saturday afternoon…

  17. Wath says:

Didn’t know that Ts about Wenger not beating the tinkerman in the league… They will be very hard to beat they are very quick and playing good footie…! Not an easy game at all.

  18. allezkev says:

Just began to read a piece, in the Evening Standard, by that fat slug and West Ham fan, John Dillon, got halfway through the 2nd paragraph and realised that it was the usual bigoted shite that Dillon churns out.
So don’t waste your time, if you are tempted…

  19. Wavy says:

    Morning al.

The truth is here. The truth is now. The truth is Highbury House!

Al other sources are irrelevant and constructs of over fertile imaginations.

  20. scottfromoz says:

    How’s things, guys?
Speaking of the media, yu guys would be amazed at how much attention the Gabriel/Costa incident attracted here in Oz.
It was incredible, and when the red card was overturned, and Costa copped a suspension, it went up another notch.
Fantastic stuff, and the near unanimous call was justice had been done.

  21. Wath says:

Problem is Scott justice wasn’t really done was it as it should of happened during the game and the incompetent ref should of sent off Costa at the time and then lets be honest there is no reason we would on not at least drawn the match. The fact the linesman had a clear view of the incident with Kos as well just beggars belief that nothing happened so is that incompetency/bias or corruptness..?

They still got the f’kin three points…! So for me no justice what so ever and back to pointing fingers at Dean yet again and his lineman..!

  22. Wath says:

It’s just cosmetic though Scott, yes it makes a change for a decision to go our way but bottom line is it just affect the incompetency of the officials and nor does it affect the ramifications the red card had on us on the pitch and subsequently affecting the result.

Why did the linesman not tell Dean on the earpiece “Coast has just pushed and slapped Koscielny in the face, red card in my opinion”…. Scared of Dean or scared to actually do a proper job and then the FA completely blank the fact the officials were utterly shit…!

  23. Wavy says:

The outcome of the battle of Stamford Bridge has also raised another issue, that is who is the guilty party? Is it the provocateur or is the retaliater? As a,rule it has always been the latter who is punished never or rarely the former. The two obvious examples are Gabriel, who was clearly incensed by what occurred and the provoker kept on at him from goal line to halfway line, with the Ref watching on! The outcome was inevitable, had Gabbi not kicked out at Costa when he did, he would surely have felled him later on and probably have got himself sent off anyway! If he’d done the job properly he would’ve maimed Costa into the bargain. So maybe worth it!
The other incident that comes to mind is that of Zidane in the WC final. I think a little like the last example, it wasn’t really physical, it was verbal! Insulting words whispered in the ear and the outcome was remarkable and quite final! As was the result!

It was Rivaldo who said he “used his professionalism” to get an opponent sent off! Far from his “professionalism” he actually cheated, an act of fraud, to gain advantage! It does nothing to enhance the reputation of player or game. It is partly the reason that football has grown such a poor reputation, in a ‘sporting’ sense. And we are responsible, to a greater or lesser extent, in that we believe the result is everything and how that is achieved is irrelevant. Sportsmanship just flies out of the window, and with it fairness and justice.

It’s time we learned from the best practices of other sports, technology, retrospective citings of miscreant players, dodgy reffing decisions et al then maybe the playing field will appear flatter and fairer, but while we are dragged along this hazy road that the football authorities seem to hold so dear the game will continue to be unjust and unfair.

  24. potter says:

I am with Wath on this , letting Gabriel off was an attempt to sweep it all away and hope that it gets forgotten in a few days. The premier league and F>a and their pgmol poodles have always been a spineless bunch and will never take on the so called big teams . First it was Liverpool then United now it’s Chelsea and City. Their heart has always been where the money was.

  25. Adam says:

Agreed. No ‘real’ justice but, as Potter says, a hope that Dean’s truly pathetic and quite possibly corrupt performance be forgotten in the supposed righteousness of the FA’s stance. Seems to me impossible to ignore the fact that Mourinho has positively encouraged Costa’s dark side since he arrived and that the creepy little dick has, virtually single-handedly, made the PL a rather unpleasant place these days. Week in, week out Mourinho is on the TV screaming and pouting about some sort of injustice or other. The man really is, as Cruyff said, “The enemy of football” and his pathetic showboating is seen and reviled worldwide. I cannot believe that this reflects well on the PL or the FA but they won’t do anything about it until it starts to cost them money. The other reason is that we have people like Merson and his ilk forever crowing about how much we all “love” him.
Personally speaking and I doubt I am alone in this, I don’t love him at all. I don’t think he is good for the PL or the English game and I don’t think he is an advocate of good football. I detest him, his team, his club and everything that they stand for. The whole of the game in this country would be much better if his club and everything to do with it were to sink without trace.

  26. allezkev says:

I know Wath, I should really know better mate….

Adam, mio amigo, I didn’t know that Fatty Dillon was your neighbour?
    How awful…

I hope you don’t see him too often…

  27. allezkev says:

Michael Oliver was the 4th Official in the Chavs game, but it’s difficult to know how much influence he could have had on such an arrogant cnut like Dean….

Tbh, Oliver has been quite good for us in the recent past, surprisingly honest and fair.
Obviously Riley will have warned him against such behaviour re: Arsenal…

  28. allezkev says:

Agree completely with you Adam re: Mourinho…
As for Merson, as a player I loved him.
As a pundit, he really is a fool…
But he has to earn a living and if it’s as the ‘SkySports Clown’ then so be it…
But surely nobody other than a complete nutter would take anything he says, seriously?

Strange how when Ancelotti was the manager of the Chavs, that it didn’t affect the EPL or the Chavs, who won the Double under him, before undermining him.
Very strange behaviour from a very strange club and a very odd owner!

  29. Wavy says:

Make sure you lock your doors Kev, I may come knocking with my Watch Tower. Or should that be Wath Tower?! ?

Agree Adam, wholeheartedly re chavskl the club, the manager and the owner.

  30. Wavy says:

Just while I’m at the keyboard, I understand the poison Pygmy had a five minute rant about Wenger as is normal now in his pre-match briefings. There must be a law against the little mans ravings! Perhaps someone from somewhere will have him sectioned? Any offers? I do believe that he has real issues with his understanding of what is real and what are figments of his spiteful imagination.
The sooner he gets pissed off by the enormous sections of society that despise him and he realises that he is universally hated, so much so that he packs his bags and heads back to the land of his birth, the better for all concerned.
