English Signing Complete? Shock exit ticks the right box & Firing up the neighbours

Morning all,

See, this is what happens when our young players don’t think before they speak! All Szczesny has done is fire up AVB who has now retaliated after our young Pole decided to take a swipe at the neighbours lack of talent:

I think it would be a little more tolerable if it had come from a genuine Arsenal fan but it is coming from an Arsenal player, an Arsenal player who is probably only passing by to another club, or he’s not going to stay there for life.

In the end, does he means exactly those words from the heart? He doesn’t for sure.

He’s entitled to say what he wants. It would be a little bit more realistic from a famous Arsenal fan to come forward with those words.

Can anyone disagree with that statement?

Either way, our young keeper won’t be at Arsenal for life. He’ll either get sold because his own performance/attitude dictates it, or if by some miracle he becomes world class, I’m sure he’ll want to go and see a Dr somewhere who, after major examination, will find some German/Spanish DNA!!

Or maybe he’ll hear a voice inside his head which tells him to join another Premier League club…..

He’s got a lot to say for a player so young and so error prone. AVB will use that though, and he’ll use it to fire up his team ahead of tonight and for their last two games…

Maybe the best thing for Arsenal would be to wipe the slate clean and find a new number one keeper, one who knows how to conduct themselves, one who can earn us points each season. Not concede them!

As someone suggested yesterday, if we performed the way the players/manager have so often suggested we have this season, we’d have won the Premier League and Capital One Cup a while back. No, all that’s left for us is a scrap for 4th spot.

Rumours, well this is a biggy, if true it’s huge…

Nike are set to be cast aside and Puma are stepping in.

A shirts a shirt isn’t it, as long as it looks pretty decent, does it really matter who supplies it?

I’ve always liked Nike but of late, their designs have been a bit suspect but once the season gets going, little things like that get forgotten.

The Daily Mirror, well John Cross (who is reportedly quite close to the club) has the headline that Arsenal agree £170m kit deal with Puma.. the biggest in English football. If you haven’t already, you can read the full story here.

We have, according to that report, struck an agreement worth in excess of £30m-a-year which could see the five year contract worth £170m in total. Why Puma, well they have strong links with the African market and that is an area where they believe Arsenal are particularly strong and have even bigger potential.

Players like Falcao, Fabregas and even Giroud wear their boots! Even Adam’s favourite player dons them whilst playing around in his garden….

Nike wanted to stay apparently, but weren’t prepared to cough up major money for the privilege.

What I like about that is it’s a short-term deal and for lot’s of money. The downside is, it won’t come into effect until  the 2014/15 season according to the report.

Add the £170 million from English company Puma to the £150 million from the Emirates shirt deal and we suddenly have a lot of money…

Now all we need to see is a manager who will spend it on the right players and get us back to winning ways….

Will that be Arsene Wenger? I suspect so……..

Finally, a reason to celebrate, Sir Alex Ferguson Has finally announced that he is to retire at the end of the season…

Whatever we all think of the man, he’s been an incredible manager and I doubt things will ever be quite the same at Manchester United again. Good!

That’s it for today, have a good one….

I hope the board win this fight!!

ARSENE WENGER and his board are at odds over whether Arsenal should launch a summer move for Loic Remy or Wilfried Bony.

Boss Wenger is a fan of fellow Frenchman Remy, 26, and wants the green light to firm up his interest in the QPR striker.

But members of the Gunners board are understood to prefer to splash the cash on Vitesse Arnhem’s Ivory Coast hitman Bony.

Bony, dubbed the new Didier Drogba, has impressed members of the Gunners hierarchy with his stunning goal-scoring exploits this season.

The £7m-rated 24-year-old is the top scorer in Holland and hit an impressive 37 goals in 32 starts for club and country this season.

  2. tsgh says:

    Hi all,

It is Confirmed… some posh boys in my offfice who pretend not to like football can not down play their disappointment and fear this morning and going forward… 😀 It’smade my day…

  3. tsgh says:

Manure have announced that the title-winning boss will step down after 26 years…

The manure supporters think Jose is the only man they deserve… 🙂

  4. stevepalmer1 says:

Mabe Puma can sort a red and white strip out that has no blue in it, get their act together. How hard can it be. As for the away strip no blue what so ever. a revamp of the club badge where laurel leafs are fine but no fcuking blue. (rant over)

  5. rico says:

Totally with you there Sp, blue?? What’s that been all about..

Red & White only on the home kit…

  6. bernard says:

AVB should stop making noise on Szczesny’s comments. He should mind his work rather abusing Szczesny. He AVB is on a football trip as he has described Szczesny.

  7. stevepalmer1 says:

Bernard, before you start to get behind Czez remember the pratt can’t even kick a ball properly. And he’s brought this on himself the dipstick.. Oh and welcome Bernard. 🙂

  8. W.A.T.H says:

Funny how AVB goes on about Chez not being a proper Arsenal fan yet he been with the club since he was 15/16 and ain’t that bloke only been at the yids less that a season…?

ME thinks he should shut the fuck up talking shit as well but seems Chez has pissed him off… Love it 😀

Will the Mancs have a minutes applause for Fergie at the end of the game at the weekend..? suppose that will be the 96th minute then..!

  9. devilgunner says:

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Nice post Rico…….except for one thing……….Finally, a reason to celebrate, Sir Alex Ferguson Has finally announced that he is to retire at the end of the season…

Celebrate??? If Mourinho becomes the next Manure manager I can assure you we will all cry. And for a long time.

  10. wardy says:

“Whatever we all think of the man, he’s been an incredible manager and I doubt things will ever be quite the same at Manchester United again. Good!
All depends who they get to come in to replace him.
Mourinho anyone??? that would be depressing. He’s had us in his back pocket more often than Fergie has.

  11. W.A.T.H says:

Dev the Mancs won’t give Moreenya the cash he craves and certainly not as much as what the Chavs or PSG will give him…! Man U need a lot of players as well make no mistake.

  12. stevepalmer1 says:

Lets show our commitment and put in bids for Aguero and Toure might as well take Rongkey off their hands as well.

  13. gybolar says:

Really don’t see anything wrong in what our goalkeeper had said and I blv is a mind game that our coach suppose to be up to now,buh that he isn’t. If yoou see last season when manchester united players sees that they have lost out from the league to their noisy neigbour they stoked up the light to destabilise them, though it didn’t work as expected, buh it went some long way, bcus that’s whr the noisy mancity picked up from this season. We saw the way Barcelona players as well uses the medium of the press to unsettle any player they blv their club is after.pls give the poor boy a break, bcus none of you can say u don’t want to be in UCL.

  14. Bradster says:

    Hi all,

Wouldn’t Mourinho need to buy better quality players? Not sure the Glaziers will allow that much spending.
I don’t see him having the same effect as Fergie on the rubbish they have to get the best out of them nor the influence with the refs. Unless it’s about Man U when it comes to refs and not Fergie in particular.

Regarding money coming in, we’ll get done in like Liverpool regarding transfer prices clubs will ask us and Wenger rightfully this time will decline and raid the Spanish going belly up.

  15. devilgunner says:

yes they do Watty mate. But as Wardy said…….He’s had us in his back pocket more often than Fergie has.

and MAnure board would do anything to stay at the top.

    Bony and Remy???

Well, if AW was planning a major clear out then both of them and Jovetic would be great. But I doubt it. Only if he sold Poldi and Gerv will they come in.

  16. rico says:

I’m obviously alone in my thoughts on Ches, if I was AVB and the Totts, I’d want to ram his ‘talent’ comments right back down his throat in the best way possible…

Spout when we have got top 4 if we get it, not before….

Adam, you know it’s Lewandoski (spelling) fella we are getting 😉

  17. rico says:

Bradster, they are in too much debt already aren’t they? Maybe he’s jumping ship before it all goes belly up ….

  18. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, he may well divide the club as he has done at Real.
Fergies biggest attribute was having every single player that ever represented the club under his tenure fighting like crazy for each other.
I doubt anyone could say that is the case with Real.
I think his ego would mean Jose would want to put his own stamp on things, and there is no way he will improve the place, imo.
    Morning all.

  19. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, one of us will be very wrong, because i can’t see him going anywhere else 🙂

  20. devilgunner says:

Here we are being serious…………and Lee cracks us all up. 96th minute mate? nah

everyone will play on until all teams score after the 90th minute

  21. W.A.T.H says:

Apparently Moreenyo needs to be bought out from RM and his backroom staff and he will want at least 150mil if he goes to the Mancs… Can’t see it myself..! This will make Roman move his arse to secure Moreen thats for sure if not I reckon he’s off to PSG..!

Adam… you know it’s Lewandowski you can feel it in your Mango..!

  22. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, you know i have been saying he is Utd’s next manager for at least a year, so i must stick true.
He will go to Chelski the same day Aaron bags that hat trick 🙂

  23. rico says:

Moyes is a younger Fergie, he’d be really good for them..

I’d have liked him to replace Wenger….

I know I’m alone on that thought too 😉

  24. frednerk says:

    Morning All
Podolski,I think is off to turkey,
wenger spent all last week bumming him up,
left him on for 85 mins, hoping to be proved right,
    but once again,
proved……he could be losing his touch.
I get the feeling the germans had enough,

When I read the bit on Bony & Remy,
    I thought of christmas,
    prehaps I’am going crackers.

  25. rico says:

Now one of those is possible Scott and it doesn’t involve 3 goals 😉

Wigan losing last night isn’t such good news… Mind you, they have been dodging relegation more times than Wenger dodges a top class signing …

  26. rico says:

Does seem the way AW does his selling Fred, talk them up and then out…

Now wasn’t he full of praise for Gervinho a few weeks back.. mmmmm 😉

  27. Scott from Oz says:

Fred, i can’t see Podolski going anywhere unless, and that is one big UNLESS, we really are going to splash out and get a big gun!

  28. tsgh says:

You know if Aw resigns or gets sacked as most of fans allegedly want; and Munchini gets the boot too… AVB could become the longest serving manager for a top 5 EPL team come August 2013… 🙂

  29. rico says:

I read that story about Reina, but it’s just a story I think. He’d head there like a shot if true…

  30. devilgunner says:

.In honour of Alex Ferguson the FA has retired the numbers 7, 8 and 9 from the Stoppage Time Board

  31. tsgh says:

Hi Scott, Reina was an old Barca boy… its probably because of the DNA thingey as most of their top players have now activated teir bavarian DNA…

  32. tsgh says:

    😀 Dev

Scott, its the lack of sleep buddy…. my mind is twisted and fcuked…. some ask for trophies I just ask for a 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep for a week… 😀

  33. devilgunner says:

Ginge……..I am going to sue you for copyright infringement……..that bavarian dna bit I said it yesterday. 😉

I wonder how some sour kraut sperm has managed towiggle its way across the franco spanish borders

  34. frednerk says:

    Scott,
I thought Podolski would have been our top player this season,
    something’s on his mind,
    I don’t think it’s top 4 finish.

  35. rico says:

I don’t think he’s fit fred, and isn’t he due to have surgery in the summer, or did i dream that?

  36. frednerk says:

Hope your right rico,it’s curtains for gervinho,

Ps..I’am not talking about his hair style.

  37. Scott from Oz says:

I am with Rico….i reckon he is yet to be 100%.
Maybe i am looking for reasons…..

  38. tsgh says:

😀 Dev I was hoping you would not read that…

Scott Jose is so special he was 2nd choice after Aw for the RM gig… hahaha

  39. gnarleygeorge9 says:

So the old sweaty sock has finally gone to that great board room in the stands. They won’t be able to replace him 😈

  40. Scott from Oz says:

    I know Ginge lol.
    Special one, my arse.
He says that to the mirror when making love to himself!!

  41. Scott from Oz says:

Moyes is used to battling but never winning.
How quickly can a manager turn that attitude around.
It works the other way, as well.
    Look at Brendan Rodgers 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  42. tsgh says:

As I always say Scott, if Aw was a true Arsenal fan and not a french buck-tooth rapper lover… he would have resigned in 2006 when he knew he would have no money to spend… his record would have been something like 8 trophies in 8 years… 2 silver or runners-up medals in Europe and FA cup etc…

But then just maybe we could have hired Jose instead as he loves London… he would have made us Portsmouth and we will possibly know if AU is truly an Arsenal fan to rescue us as he says… or stan would have bought the club on an IOU tab… the so called old Arsenal were so prepared to sell their shares in the club so quickly without exchanging money you would think they knew something we did not know…

In the mean time the banks who loand us the money may have sold both Erms and Highbury to get their investment back…. at least we would have won a few trophies 😉

  43. tsgh says:

He is taking his brother Martin ferguson, chief scout with him too… I didn’t realise united had scouts… 🙂

  44. W.A.T.H says:

I like Moyes Rico but think he’s at his level, kind of agree with Scott, can he handle the ego’s at a big club and can he buy properly and make them win… granted he motivates what he has very well BUT it’s a huge step up for him.

  45. rico says:

Some would suggest that when a manager has very limited funds, they’d be wiser not to waste it on some of the garbage ours has over the years..

That is of course if he ever has had limited funds..

For the story he has there is a counter story to suggest he hasn’t…

Think I’ll still wait and see what happens this summer before I go counting my chickens…

  46. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico – Re: “Add the £170 million from English company Puma…”. Sorry, but Puma is a German company headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany and now majority owned by the French group PPR soon to renamed Kering Group.

  47. W.A.T.H says:

    Just seen this one….. Funny….!

“Ferguson retires after 27yrs at ManU ! Well it’s really 30 years if you add on all the injury time!”

  48. rico says:

Well if he gets it wrong at Manure Wath, even better 😉

Wonder if his first signing will be Fellaini….

  49. Bradster says:

I think it all depends on the coach. Check how many times Fergie has changed that over his tenure.
That’s where new ideas come from, just need a manager that will listen to it and have the experience to go with it or know that it’s a risk that is too great.

  50. W.A.T.H says:

And that would be a great signing for them if they got Fellaini just what they need…. just like exactly what we need..!

  51. Micko says:

    Morning all,
rico, some-one should have told Chezzer a closed mouth gathers no foot.
These Puma kits from what I remember from the shower down the road are pretty figure hugging are’nt they, might have to start working on my man boobs if that’s the case.

  52. GGG says:

Damn, Why now. I hope he changes his mind and stay for another season. Defeating ManU without SAF has no taste.

  53. GGG says:

Anyhow, there are lot of big coaches out there. Jupp Heynckes is the most fearful I think ^_^

  54. tsgh says:

Hi Bradster, with United its the mindset imho not the coaches … when carpet-chested Giggs and Scholes retire as well as Rio and Abu Dhabi’s brother Vidic, will the likes of Smalling, Jones, anderson be able to carry the touch… maybe carrick has been around for a while but he has 2 years max at United… the question is who can they get in the form of Ince or Keane who can perform when they are 1-0 down with 7 minutes to go and there is no gum chewing Grandmaster pointing to his watch…

The chavs will have the same issue when lamps and Tom Terry leave…

Barca went through the same issue when the big players like Pep and Gonzales retired… even though they bought Ronaldiho and rivaldo etc they could not win until the academy products such as Puyol and Iniesta matured… that was the advice Puyol of all people publicly gave to Cesc when he was engineering a move to Barca…

RM did like wise when the likes of raul and Zidane left… and our struggle to replace PV04, keown etc is legendary at least according to Talkshite and the media…

  55. devilgunner says:

GGG………..but defeating Manure with Maureen in charge will have the taste of a lifetime mate.

  56. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, it is easy to say Wenger has brought in shit, but consider this…
    1-Our youth dream has failed.
    2-We spend no money.
    3-We keep selling great players.
If we aren’t buying them, and ot producing them, how can we possily be selling them 🙂

  57. devilgunner says:

Ginge………… same with us actually…………if Gerv leaves who will we have to leave us in stitches in the last couple of minutes?

  58. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – I can’t see Maureen Yo going to Manchester United. The Glazers would never sanction the money he requires to buy success. He will never succeed if he has to work on a budget. For all that ManUre are worth and how much they earn, they still carry one of the largest debts in English football.

  59. devilgunner says:

I wonder if the curtains will be drawn this summer……when Gerv will be gerving away!!!!

  60. Scott from Oz says:

CG, i just think his ego will get in his own way.
I agree he can’t succeed without a big budget, but will that stop him trying?

  61. tsgh says:

I would love Mauren at united… within 3 years of being at Inter he got them into over 300m debt… Roman even blamed him for his divorce (joking there). RM have had enough of his lack of top to bottom mangement style… all the academy players that Peligrini brought through or earmarked have been discarded.

It will be great too if the Glaziers are kicked out from the NYSE for all the bad buys mauren will make at inflated prices…
the tax man decides he needs money from united… and a disgruntled ref (Fat Dowd) writes a tell all story about the corruption in the league in 5 years time… 😀 would really love that…

The Nigerian stock exchange is always looking… 😀

  62. devilgunner says:

Rico should get Maureen Yo to write down an article for this blog. He will soon have her in debt quicker than she can down a veggie burger. 😉

  63. devilgunner says:

Nah Scott. If I have to have Gerv in my sitting room my missus will faint with horror. Especially in the dark!!!! 😛

  64. W.A.T.H says:

    Scott you seem to forget,

    Cesc,
    Nasri
    Rvp
    Ade
    Toure
    Clichy

All bought… yes bought low sold high but all still bought..!

  65. rico says:

    Hi Micko – I’d drop him, I really would…

Scott, that’s not what I’m saying, every manager makes a duff signing, but some of those like Squilli, Silvestre etc.. Park, Santos…

That’s wasting money, both on signing and a high wage…

  66. devilgunner says:

And its repetitive Rico. I mean……..one or two signings you can afford. but we seem to have two or more every summer. when we buy that is!!!!!

  67. Scott from Oz says:

Howard Webb and Mike Dean have made a joint statement announcing their retirements.
They just can not live on the salary paid to PL referees any longer.

  68. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry Scott proved what exactly that we take players and make them better then sell them…? who does that benefit..?

Only their own pockets…! How many others we bought and sold off for nothing cos they failed or are out on loan or sitting on their arses getting huge salaries…?

Trim the squad greatly and make sure we buy quality simple as that… young players need loaning out and only brought back IF they good enough, if they not sell them…! harsh but true..! Far to many on our books costing a fortune who will never play for us all because we thought that would beat bringing in quality players.

  69. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – As much as I detest the Special Needs One, he is not stupid. He knows his own limitations. Since leaving Portugal he never stays at any club longer than five years. He buys an expensive team and leaves before he has to rebuild or is unsuccessful.

    2000 Benfica
    2001–2002 União de Leiria
    2002–2004 Porto
    2004–2007 Chelsea
    2008–2010 Internazionale
    2010– Real Madrid

I think he’ll either go back to Chelsea or the one of the other Sugar Daddy teams like PSG or Abu Dhabi Citeh. A team with an owner rich enough and daft enough to fund his profligate ways.

  70. devilgunner says:

CG I have been saying something similiar to that for a long time. Put Mou in charge of a club say like Portsmouth, Norwich etc. Will they be successful??? I do not need an answer.

As you said………..he knows his limitations and is not stupid. But that does not make you a great coach.

  71. devilgunner says:

that is a pity Lady. Some of the comments on here (everyday) do deserve a Like. Actually, make that a SUPERLIKE

  72. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, i did not say it helps us.
Just that for the bad players Wenger buys, look at the success stories.
Plenty of our failures have been welcomed to the club by fans, yet they have failed to produce.
    It happens.
    It happens at every club.

  73. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, i do not know the repercussions or possible problems, but is it worthwhile opening HH as a Facebook group??
Just asking…..i don’t have a clue how these things work and what the pros and cons are.

  74. Micko says:

So Thatcher dies, Ferguson retires, somewhere there’s a scouser holding a lamp with only one wish left !
Could be some truth in that.

  75. devilgunner says:

here you are habib. you should have been on here earlier. have you heard any jokes about old red nose’s retirement????

  76. devilgunner says:

    BAANNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGgg.

    here are the like buttons.

    GOODY FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUU LLLLADDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYY

  77. rico says:

Scott, HH already has a facebook account, the members allowance is full, I’m unsure of how to get it increased…

  78. W.A.T.H says:

It happens Scott for sure BUT i think when we look at a select few players that get brought in and then sold on it not for fans to say how great we are at making stars, that’s not a pop at you but when you look at who we have sold it’s far outweighed by the ones that fal by the wayside. Yes I agree plenty other crap players at other clubs but they don’t and have not given us the bullshit that Arsenal have the last 6/7 years. I still say AW has wasted far to much money on crap players last 5 yrs that when added together could of bought 2/3 players who would of made us much more competitive.
    Again just my opinion obviously.

  79. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – I can remember an article from a couple of years ago that compared the players bought, sold, and net spend (buys – sales) for Rafa Benitez (Liverfool), Alex Ferguson (ManUre) and Arsene Wenger over the same period. Rafa had the by far highest net spend followed by Alex then Arsene. All managers buy dodgy players, the article had a long list for all three teams. We tend only to remember those of our own team. Also, a lot of Arsene’s dodgy ones have been for relatively little money. Too bad South Yorkshire Gooner isn’t on today, as he is a pro at pulling up the links for a lot of these old articles.

  80. devilgunner says:

the fact that you realise you are an idiot shows a class of intelligence Adam. 😉

    the buttons look great Lady.

  81. Scott from Oz says:

Wah, again, i was not making any judgement on whether or not we should be selling our best players, because it goes without saying we should not.
I was only commenting on the rubbish we have brought in, and pointing out we have brought in some superstars as well.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

  82. rico says:

That’s my view too Wath, other clubs don’t feed their fans ‘This is my strongest squad yet’..

Only to see Squilli in the first 11 😉

  83. rico says:

    Have a good day devil..

Does anyone really care that Fergie is not going to Chester Races this afternoon…

    SS’s love it don’t they…

  84. Canadian Gooner says:

DG – Maureen Yo’s greatset talent is getting his team to buy into the myth of the Special One. I think he leaves ateam when he is found out by the players, B.O.D. &/or owner(s).

  85. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – Do I need my eyes checked? I couuld swear we had like & dislike buttons and counters here for a few minutes.

  86. Adam says:

Sky Sport has gone into an absolute frenzy of silliness and over reaction. Jim White has needed to change his underwear at least twice. Soppy sod.

  87. Jay says:

No comments yet on the clubs stament regarding the new procedure for allowing friends and family to use your season ticket .For a small fee you can download a voucher will allow entry to the ground and disenable the s,t What a load of cobblers most fans just pass the ticket to friends ,and collect them after the game.Basically its a new way to skim some more cash from the fans. Also what happens if you havent got a p.c and printer ,you are F….d

  88. rico says:

Ha ha Cg, I took them off again, all a bit too much in a small space…

Adam, It’s crazy, you’d think Fergie had died wouldn’t you….

  89. Scott from Oz says:

Word has it that the retirement of Fergie offers a chance for Mourinho to be The Black Eyed Peas new lead singer!!

  90. W.A.T.H says:

What I am saying though Scott is fans harp on about a handful of players that have left for big money to sort of justify the shit we been left with and to say youth has worked etc etc… It plainly has not.

We’ve sold players because bottom line is they wanted to leave and if thats the case they can get stuffed as far as I am concerned my problem along with most is when you sell for 40 million then replace with 40million worth of quality replacement and thats what we have failed to do. Wenger or the Board…???? I think we’re about to find out. We have had 80/90 million to spend for the last few years so add on these new sponsorship deals and your talking BIG money available. Problem is every club with any sense will also know this.

  91. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – Sorry, I missed your 12:26 pm post re the buttons. NO THANK YOU, they are messy and I think people tend to use them before really thinking. If I or anyone else writes something partucularly funny, good &/or insightful; somebody will comment on it. Conversely, if someone says something particularly hateful, offensive, personal &/or stupid; you or one of the household members will bring them to task. I’m sure some of our irregular harassers would love to see how large a dislike score they could runup. Keep the sight friendly – NO BUTTONS.

  92. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, it goes both ways mate.
For every Gooner pointing out the good, you will get thousands ignoring them and highlighting out the bad.
Wenger has been on the better side of the ledger over the last 18 months at least.
    A bit late, admittedly lol

  93. rico says:

    😆 Adam

Just why I’m not counting my chickens Wath, and of course because I know how many I have…

Money available and Wenger spending money on the right players seem gulfs apart…

Gazidis needs to let him know who’s boss….

  94. W.A.T.H says:

Cesc broke the camels back Scott, when Cesc jumped ship part of Wenger realised this whole AFC dna thing wasn’t going to work and that players are for the most part purely about money and the sooner he realises that the better, no loyalty from most and def none from the foreign kids how ever much we loved and pampered them. Now last few buys have been older more experienced players lets hope that carries on but with a higher quality and we’ll be ready to compete again..!.
Many moan both ways Scott very few do it sensibly..!

  95. Canadian Gooner says:

    W.A.T.H – Re: Wenger or the Board…????

I think we will have a good indication of where the fault for the constipation in transfer fees for buying new players rests in the upcoming transfer window. I think its the B.O.D. and/or the primary owner. Some think otherwise and may well be right.

  96. Micko says:

Rico, Jay’s right, the club make it clear that you can’t pass season tickets over to family or friends for games or you risk having them taken off you, do that and the stadium would be empty half the time, they’re full of crap.

  97. Adam says:

When the scales are balanced and you look at what a player I bringing or has bought to the club and then factor in how much he cost and what, if anything, is the resale value, it surely not inconceivable that a judgement value should fall from the lips.
Consider Arshavin. It won’t take long. Or Gervinho, Podolski or Giroud, these players having a redeemable value that will diminish as time passes. I don’t see much of a brain teaser there myself.

  98. Canadian Gooner says:

W.A.T.H – Cesc was certainly part of Arsene’s epiphany, but I think Judas van Pusestrings was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It seemed to be the final twist of the dagger and left Arsene little time to react. I don’t think Project Youth is dead. I think he will continue to buy promising young players for the future. However, I think his priorities this transfer window will be to buy three or four players to rebuild the soine of the team. If I’m wrong I will be eating my share of humble pie before drowning my sorrows and crying in my beer.

  99. Scott from Oz says:

CG, personally, i can’t see a problem with buying younger guys this summer, as we have some experience in the squad.
As long as these younger guys are 21-22 and not 17-18 years of age, and of the required talent we need.

  100. Scott from Oz says:

    Don’t bother Rico.
Just tell me how many members we have….i can deduct one from that number 🙂

  101. Bob John says:

For what its worth. I have written to the Premier league asking them to explain the appointment of Mike Dean for the Wigan game. This is a man born less than 30 miles from Wigan who ‘learnt’ his trade in the Northern Premier League and is still affiliated to the Cheshire FA! And we all know his history with Arsenal! He is also reffing on Saturday and there are plenty of other refs who aren’t. This has the stench of Mike Riley all over it.

  102. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – If we didn’t have have differing opinions there would be nothing to discuss or debate. What would be boring is if we all agreed on everything. You know what they say “Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ”. The true test is how we react when we have concrete evidence/proof, one way or the other, regarding our opinions. To paraphrase Albert Einstein – only a fool performs the same experiment repeatedly and expects different results. You may yet be proved right about Maureen Yo to ManUre or some of your other prognostications. If so, we who differed with you will bow to your superior insight. Conversely, expect some pointed ribbing if your wrong.

  103. Adam says:

Rico. You are only partially right though I think Wenger is also a major culprit. He knew for months that Van Persie was going just as he did with Nasri and Cesc. It was he who chose to leave it late and buy blokes like the non-existent strike force we have now. I mean, it’s not as if our competitors are stellar is it? We have been in decline for so long that the road back is tough and expensive. We have an enormous wage bill but are stocked full of average players. Given that, now is the time to up the quality of the whole squad. Not in late August, but in the next few weeks. If not, then quite honestly, what is the point?

  104. Scott from Oz says:

And I will accept it CG…have no fear.
My confidence is starting to wane on Aarons hat trick though 🙂

  105. Scott from Oz says:

Yanited has dropped their ST prices by 10%, the same percentage that game time will be reduced by!!!

  106. W.A.T.H says:

Bob John spot on mate but your letter will end up straight in the bin…! You know we would get nothing out of Riley (we never did) another bent fergie rentboy and we def never get anything out of Dean he hates us the horrible little self styled hitler wannabe

  107. devilgunner says:

So Adam. which strikeforce would you prefer? Our strike force or one which contains Tevez, Aguero and Dzeko??

  108. Scott from Oz says:

Ooohhhhh Devil…..seeing we have scored more goals than them, very good question.
Now we are letting in less, we are competitive.
Just those inconsistent runs of games kill us, and that is where better depth all round will help.

  109. devilgunner says:

that is why I asked Scott.

We have outscored a strikeforce which costs………Tevez around 40million, Aguero 38million, Dzeko 27million. That makes it a total 0f 105million.

Theo 9million, Giroud 9.6million, podolski around 12 million.

And we have scored more than them.

So in reality……..is our strikeforce non existent???

  110. Canadian Gooner says:

    Scott – Good Night.

Its been another very very late night for me. So, I’m of to bed. Good afternoon/night fellow Gooners. Till tomorrow. Keep the faith.

  111. tsgh says:

mauren-hoe’s first interview after being appointed OldToilet manager will be opened with… ‘fcuk AW supporters… everyman thinks their Mrs at home is Hotter than mine” Voyeur …

    Night Scott…

What have you done with Oz? you have not ‘topped him’ off because he disagrees with you have ya… 🙂

  112. devilgunner says:

its not a question of Arsenal material Ginge.

I just pointed out that for all the money the shitty strike force cost its not worth what has been paid for.

  113. tsgh says:

I know dev… was just being sarcastic… but your stats rightly or wrongly justify my view that all our players have a part to play to give us and them success if they applied themselves more often… the question is do the playersand fans have and show the same believe AW shows in them when at times he loooks like the only man pulling in a direction opposite to what the fans believe it should be…

  114. Adam says:

Devil. I myself would prefer Gervinho playing just off Squillacci as a strike force. You can keep Tevez and Aguero. 🙂

  115. SD London says:

    Fergie retired, who cares.

Imagine what RVP is thinking this morning.

Footballers don’t think do they ?

  116. tsgh says:

How did the mighty Inter Milan fall… it appears Handanovic is going to be sold this summer for financial reasons after a stellar season. The same goalie who replaced Cesar at Inter last summer… Inter are not even qualifying for the UEFA cup as it stands…

Vote whose fault it is for the demise… Jose or Rafa 😀

The way its looking the Nostrawenger prophesy that was prophesied in 2002 is suring happening if the demise of rangers and Portsmouth are considered fluke…..

  117. rico says:

Just got home and SS’s are showing ‘Breaking News’ – Fergie is retiring, wow. Didn’t know that…….

    Evening all…..

  118. SD London says:

Jose Morinho might change his mind and apply for the Man Utd job.

Sneaky Fergie might want him, maybe the reason he announced on time.

  119. Wavy says:

Whose arms is the grey badger going to jump into now that Grampa rednose has shuffled off his manure coil?
How upsetting for him! I wonder what the direction of manure is now and what the little boy in him will want to do now, with his toys. I bet they’re all over the floor and he has another temper tantrum.
At least the rednosed one has gone so he can”t come cherryicking Giroud, our super star striker!

  120. emma says:

    Good evening guys/ladies.
Best news for ages. We are about to see manure descend like the dippers(liverpool). Next season will be a level playing ground for all teams vying for the championship. Pursering should cherish this title he has it might be his last for a long time. I bet the little boy likes the direction the club is going
I am a chavs fan tonight. COYchavs spank the scum for him

  121. rico says:

A Gooner won the chase tonight, good omen I hope…

And I have had to have a filling today, carried out by a Chelsea supporting Dentist….

As someone here would type, FOYS 😛

  122. allezkev says:

    Evening Gooners…

Sounds like Lee has started Friday night early.
Take it easy Daddy Cool….. 😉

Rico, you must try Peroni… Or anything… 😀

    Hi Adam

  123. allezkev says:

I admire Bob John for writing a letter.

It won’t change anything, but good on him…

  124. tsgh says:

How does the scums vs Everton match pan out now… that Moyes is leaving. I hope the Everton players don’t roll over to the spuds…

Hi Emma… good point. with Gill also out of the sinking Manure ship…. I am compelled to think Old Rednose is a rat.

  125. Adam says:

Hi Rico. Omelette the night before. Last night I made some pilau rice and near the Mango shop I bought some chick pea dahl, pakora and nan. It was very good when followed by the mangoes.

  126. tsgh says:

Sir Bobby has continually said Jose is not suitable for United.. manure fans though think only Jose can give them what they DESERVE… success. lol

And when you hear grown men crying because Rednose is retiring and then another says live on radio that because of the news he bunked off from work… it says a lot about some football fans IQ’s…

Emma… 5 live and Talk shite claim it is confirmed even though Moyes took charge of Everton training as per usual today…

  127. emma says:

tsgh – I bet the little boy in pursering will learn a lot from Moyes. Guess he never saw that coming. With Rednose moved into the directors position will Moyes be allowed to make on field decisions without interference.

  128. tsgh says:

It smelled fishing when Gill and Rednose sanctioned a £50M deal for a 29 y.o injury prone wonder-boy… lol

  129. rico says:

Oops, sorry Adam… I like the sound of last nights…

Personally, I think Moyes would be for Manure…

Oh, and from listening to SS’s, it seems that from the fans that made a comment, they don’t want Moanrinho Ts..

  130. devilgunner says:

    Good evening Lady and Gentlemen.

Let’s get ready to rumble. Chavs vs Scum. Can they both start a mass fight in the centre circle?? This would mean deduction of points for both teams. SAy 3 points from each team.

But I expect that we will bugger it up because AW like the fight for 4th place. 😉

    Just a question mates.

If the opposite of forward is backward………..then what is the opposite of AHEAD??? Thanks

  131. devilgunner says:

That one has really stumped me. I do not know what is the opposite. And I was asked the question by one of my players.

  132. Micko says:

When push comes to shove the Yiddo’s always choke, it’s all they know.
    Believe tsgh…..believe.

  133. tsgh says:

Believe indeed… even Mutu the white power snorting crook has scored goals against the spuddies… Micko

Dev is the answer to your question ‘coasting on Gerv’s Forehead’ by any chance. lol

  134. devilgunner says:

the missus thinks its behind. but I think that its the opposite of in Front of. 🙁

  135. devilgunner says:

    hehe Ginge.

its a question which has stumped me.

Where the hell is Adam when you need him???

Loic Remy has signed for AFC. Yipppppeeeeeeeee

  136. devilgunner says:

incredible…………its already 20 minutes and the togolump has not been offside once.

What is the world coming to????

  137. tsgh says:

If you keep mentioning Loic, Adam might choke on his soft mangoes like Dubya choked on pretzels… lol

  138. devilgunner says:

Keep on believing that is what I do Ginge and Lee. I always believe that Adam will heed my call when I need him.

  139. devilgunner says:

There’s a hole in the middle dear waiter, dear waiter,
there’s a hole in the middle dear waiter,
    A HOLE

  140. tsgh says:

a bit of voodoo magick from the lump…

I always thought the chavs were better at defending… I guess not now, with Terry exposed… 🙂

  141. tsgh says:

David Luiz as a holding midfielder… ? Jeez

How was he not suspending for simulating an injury after last weekends incident.

  142. devilgunner says:

    Nah Rico.

you should read between the lines when I say that AFC have signed Remy.

    I need Adam.

  143. tsgh says:

ha ha ha.. I know exposed for being passed it… 🙂

    Ramires the chelsea Ramsey… 😉

  144. devilgunner says:

if it is a draw then we have to win the last two games for sure.

the best result is that the chavs win and the chocking cocks loose

  145. devilgunner says:

Ramirez has put a smile on the waiter’s arse now.

Close that bloody hole in the middle of the tray white coated spaniard

  146. rico says:

At least it would be in our hands then devil, and if we can’t beat Wigan and Newcastle then we don’t deserve to be in the top four…

I’d argue that we deserve to be anyway….

  147. devilgunner says:

now why didnt I put a couple of quid on OVER 2.5 in the first half??

I need to kick my head!!!! should have seen it coming.

  148. devilgunner says:

the life of a hermit has its highs and lows Ginge.

It can enable you to reflect. and it emarginates you from your mind and soul.

but its good to be back.

  149. devilgunner says:

Inter want 30 million for Handanovic.

The gaffe he has made in the first half make ALmunia seem like Gordon Banks.

  150. devilgunner says:

    Ahhhh there you are mate.

    I missed you.

Can you kindly tell me what is the opposite of AHEAD?

    Thanks

  151. Adam says:

I would have thought it could be BEHIND. Although the interpretation of of AHEAD would need further clarification.

  152. tsgh says:

30 big ones Dev?How much did Inter pay for him last year? Moratti needs fat Sam or Harry to wheel and deal for him…

  153. stevepalmer1 says:

Spuds are struggling 2.1 at half time, Bales quiet so far Adebarndoor hits a blinder. Chelsea looking good AVB not looking happy.

  154. devilgunner says:

aye that is what the missus said.

And I sort of agree with you both although I have my doubts.

  155. devilgunner says:

Cavani has not managed to touch one meaningful ball tonight. and Napoli want big bucks for him.

  156. stevepalmer1 says:

You could be right Ricolicious, Take it easy on that beer or it will be another lay in 🙂

  157. rico says:

    I’m on decaf Sp… 😉

That’s me done. Night all, fingers crossed that Chelsea win..

    Night all, stay safe….

  158. tsgh says:

5 as I said last week 5 goals in 4 and a half months this year …. is not worth 45 big omes…

Blame it on the John Terry moment…

  159. tsgh says:

    typos… jeez

Who is going to volunteer to have afternoon vodka with Mariana to convince her to allow Torres to join us for £10M this summer?

  160. devilgunner says:

I have a sneaky feeling that the chavs will be doing a shitty and turn over in the last 5 minutes.

  161. allezkev says:

That’s a bloody CL play-off to look forward too.

Hi Coach. I’m not sure that Wenger wants Remy.
Jovetic seems to be his marquee signing this summer.
    I don’t expect much else tbh…

  162. allezkev says:

Hmm, that’s a funny thing to say Coach.
    What makes you think that?

Hiya Sir Steve, you off with the rod this weekend?

  163. allezkev says:

Steve, I don’t blame ya mate.

Wish I could find another sport, Arsenal are just one big fcuking wind-up…

Agent Dean to finish us off Tuesday it seems.

    Calciopolli (spelling) is it Coach???

  164. devilgunner says:

    oui mon ami

    correct

The thing is……….if we win both games and the chavs drop points we will go third

on that note……..I am off mates.

    cu tomorrow in the comments

  165. emma says:

Torres is no longer Torres. He has passed his sell by date. Good result for the good guys

  166. allezkev says:

The thing is, will we win those last two games???

Or will we be prevented from winning those last two games?!

    Good night all.

  167. allezkev says:

That Steve, was my poor spelling for the Italian term for the corrupt refereeing scandal that embroiled Italian football a few season’s back.

    Is it happening in England???

    Gone now.

  168. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
    Rico, i didn’t pot Oz..i swear.
I was in NSW at the time.
I mean, give me credit…..if you put out a contract on someone, you don’t stand there watching.
Disagree with me…..he learnt the hard way 🙂 🙂
Todays result is great…..Two wins, we are through.
Well, Spuds will lose one of their last two, so only one win required, but let’s kill it off and smash both of them.

  169. Lee says:

I got a feeling that the scum will drop points at Stoke R.F.C on Saturday…. 😆 Fingers crossed!

  170. Bradster says:

I wonder how much influence Fergie will have in his new role at Man U? Stuff we worried about if Wenger went upstairs here.

  171. rico says:

I did wonder where Oz was Scott…

Morning Bradster, watch us muck it up again yet 😉

I bet he is hardly ‘at work’ for the first year…..

  172. Bradster says:

Quite sad that we worry more that Tottenham and Chelsea need to drop points than confidence in beating bottom of the table teams.

  173. rico says:

Chelsea have got to play Villa away and Everton at home. They haven’t made that 3rd spot theirs just yet….

  174. rico says:

He does look a little shorter.

    Bobby still looks fab…

Didn’t realise just how tall Ramsey is, he looks a midget on the TV…

Jenks and Theo steal the show….

  175. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

hi Rico, you are not a big fan of brown shoes? 🙂

Damn, Ramsey looks dapper. 😀 no funny ideas guys and ladies…

  176. Scott from Oz says:

My crush on Aaron just increased 🙂 🙂
    Morning all.
    Smart looking pic.
Let us hope the next two performances live up their looks!

  177. devilgunner says:

I guess some of the ladies will be putting on some of those photos on their FB accoutns. Rico will put the one of Jenks for sure. 😛

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen

its in our hands now. We should be able to batter both Wigan and NUFC shouldnt we.

Hang on. We are AFC………..the club who knows how to put its supporters through the wringer.

  178. Adam says:

Was last night’s result any good for us? I can’t be bothered to work out the permutations.

  179. devilgunner says:

the result was good my old mate. Its what happens with the results against Wigan and NUFC which we have to tear our hair out.

  180. Adam says:

Wenger just said that if we do make the CL he won’t be spending as he has always believed in this squad.
    Lee will enjoy that.

  181. Lee says:

He’ll be splashing the cash on Friday Tuesday or whatever his name is plus lifting the deadwood from Reading & ‘Arry!
    Big club small mentality!
    Summer of change my ar5e!

  182. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Adebayour was off-side yesterday.
Stoke could win next sunday. it will be great
with lucky, Wigam will be relegate before Tuesday.
    Just wait and see
