Morning all.
Still no news on our new manager but no surprise really. I’d imagine whilst we’re still in Europa, the focus will remain on being behind Arsene Wenger and the team and rightly so I guess. But for Jack Wilshere, who comes in next matters:
We are still in the same position really. Not much has changed. We are still talking.
“Obviously the boss has left which has changed things a little bit because I don’t know who is going to be the manager next year and that can change things.
”But we are still talking and I am hopeful and the club is hopeful we can get something done.”
No Pards or Brenda then or Jackie boy will head north to join Theo perhaps. Saying that, Big Sam could be on his way in the summer too as it doesn’t look like the Everton fans are happy with the kind of football he’s serving up. Don’t we know how they feel eh only we’ve been watching it for an awful lot longer. Still, that’s all to change real soon.
Wenger leaving doesn’t seem to fussed about the next manager though as he’s signed a new contract. Smart move by the club as that means someone either believes he’s going to do well, or they’re just making sure that if he goes, he goes for a fee. I hope he vastly improves under a new manager and his coaching team. Chambers too as quality English defenders are like gold dust.
Big night tonight for the team and especially the manager. It’s simple really, score one or more goals but don’t concede any. However, in reality, it’s not simple, it’s a darned tough task, especially as Atlético don’t give goals away cheaply and we’re not always clinical in front of goal, certainly not when we’re up against a well organised defence which has a world class keeper behind them. But we did it two weeks ago and we can do it again. In fact we should have scored more that night, many more and we certainly shouldn’t have conceded a goal like we did at any time during a game, let alone with just minutes to go. That’s an Arsene defence for you though.
The so called big boys are back tonight having been rested last weekend and Mavropanos joins them after his fine performance against Man Utd, as does Chambers. Mkhitaryan is on the plane too which is great news I think.
Enjoy the game guys, it should be good…
Hi anyone and everyone.I suppose we are just drumming our fingers until 8.00 when we can cross them.
Who will be the goallkeeper?
Matt Ospina the Cech! Of course! 3 to 1 on!
Afternoon all and thank you Rico.
I`m quite relaxed for this game because we are the overwhelming underdogs, I dont expect anything from it, but it`s a funny old game as Greavesie would have said !……………………no idea who should play or what tactics to use, but if we are to believe all the players then they will give one last push for Arsene.
Another shorts day here !
😎
And toes Potter..
I’ll be honest, not winning this cup won’t make a difference to Arsene Wenger’s future, it feels better. Like us to win though, big time..
20 years ago today we did the unexpected at Anfield. Maybe that’ll be a good omen….

So many times in Europe we concede just before half time. If Ramsey isn’t chasing the keeper he wouldn’t have launched it long. Another awful goal to concede
Belend was out of position. .
xhaka was coasting around thinking about his halftime oj
And ospina went down too early. .
pathetic really
Bellerin had two men and the defence wasn’t talking again and the key went down too easily and made it simple.
We still trying to walk the ball into the net ffs
No one wants to shoot despite creating few opportunities ..
The attack is hopelessly slow. .
Need a miracle now!
Kk, we’re the Harlem Globetrotters’s of Europe, why shoot when we can pass it sideways !
On a serious note I’m sure the players will pull it outta the bag in the 2nd half for Arsene lol
Atletico are the Spanish version of Stoke RFU..
Micko, Arsene who? ?
Well..that was painful. .
So close yet so far..
Thanks Arsene for the memories
Curtains down..
What a great shame but when you can’t score and let in sloppy goals, not that tonight’s made much difference, you’re not going to win much.
Lost it at The Emirates, not tonight.
Same old Arsenal unable to kill teams. All the deficiencies on show .No talking at the back, inability to cross accurately, no movement up front and one shot on target in 90-minutes.
Wenger ball, ko. No surprise really, for all the emphasis on buying expensive forwards and midfielders, what have we got? Stuff all really. Oh, a weak defence, I forgot that element! Well not for much longer a new man cometh.
One hope I have is that we beat Huddersfield handsomely and don’t let them off the hook. See Wenger out in style, properly!
I’ll be glad to see the back of this season..
Night guys.
How can win a game if we don’t shot?
The second big difference was at the time of the loss of the ball. When an Arsenal player recovered the ball, 2 to 3 players were immediately surrounded; when it was recovered by an AM player, had a player or none at all.
So there is no defense that can stand.
However: 1) who does not finish, does not seek happiness and luck to finish, even needing to score a goal and throwing away, can not aspire to win; 2) The tie was offered at the Emirates: who play 11 to 10 most of the time in a semi-final and had no advantage, on the contrary, the merit to reach the final is soon very questionable.
Kos had a ruptured Achilles tendon. I do not foresee great future, unfortunately.
Night rico. .
The only excitement left is the anticipation of the new manager..
1st training session should be how to hit the ball, crossing and shooting. .
Talking about back to basics .
Prior to that, the players should be introduced to each other, as micko has suggested before…
Did we miss el capitano when he went off? Nah, not at all. Not one player shouts at others, not even the goalie to say ‘my ball, or leave it, or clear it’. Mind you they all speak different languages, by the time they say ‘que.? Pardonez moi? Or, ‘you wot?’ the moment has passed and it’s a goal’ and they are still flicking through their foreign dictionary.
Where to start? Strangely, I thought they did OK most of the time, but in the crucial moments, when it’s life or death, or more important than that, they let themselves and the fans, down.
Who will want the players not good enough? If it’s true that they must sell to raise any transfer money, the new man will have about 50p.
Another predictable result, another no show in Europe, another away defeat, another display of weak defending..
I don’t feel sorry at all for Wenger he’s had plenty of time I’d rather he just fucked off now after the Burnley game. I feel sorry for the new manager as imo Wenger has left him the worst squad of players in 20yrs imo.
Add to that the unfortunate injuries to
kos and Santi they’re both finished now at top level.
if a club with two billionaire owners only wants to spend 50m which quite simply isn’t enough considering we need about 5 players then that’s their choice, but it’ll be the supporters choice whether to go and spend their money in the stadium.
Arsenal and Kronke are at a very crucial point if they don’t Speculate to accumulate now then 6th to 10th in the league awaits.
Morning all.
Kel, not for one minute do I believe the £50m budget, I’d imagine it’ll be a lot more than that, especially once a few players have been sold…
Kel :- I always feel sad when i see the comment about the two Billionaires when we all know that even if Usmanov sent a cheque to the club they would not cash it. In the past he has offered to make donations for many things , always it has been refused. The current board want nothing to do with him so effectively we have one billionaire and he refuses to put any of his cash directly into the club , his only interest is in what the club can generate on it’s own volition.
He is not bothered about where his clubs sit in their respective competitions only that they maximise their income and live within their means.
considering the money Arsenal like to charge their fans potter, and the kronkes outlook on spending and investing . I foresee a stadium rarely full imo.
the ball is in their court They invest, we invest.. it’s that simple if they don’t then personally I won’t and that’ll be a decision for each and every fan to decide themselves.
but let’s see what happens in the summer first, starting with who gets appointed as the new manager, i wonder if last night’s result may have changed things.
Rico i also think the 50m budget is a load of balls..
This summer will tell us what Kroenke is all about imo. If a manager comes in and big money is spent on a couple of top top players, then it’ll tell us a lot. As will who the next guy in is..
I don’t think so Kel, now is about going forward and if the new guy comes in, and gets us straight back into the Champions league then that’ll be a start. Maybe he’ll even get us to win the Europa league next season.
I still reckon a deal for a new manager has already been sorted, no ambitious club wouldn’t have a new manager sorted…
Hang on.. 😉
New post up now.
