Defender deal done! Jose set to get Arsenal home-grown player..

Morning all.

Ok, tongue in cheek as reports yesterday suggested the under tall Portuguese man wants to sign Alex Song. He’s classed as home-grown having been with Arsenal for so long and apparently Man City are interested as well. Has the world finally gone mad?

Seriously, all this ‘home-grown’ stuff isn’t going to work is it? English players either aren’t good enough for the top clubs, overpriced or simply happy where they are and not interested in signing for one of the ‘rich’ clubs. Look at the figures quoted for Sterling and Kane which is £50 million and £40 million respectively. Can anyone tell me that either of those players are worth paying more than we did for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil? Or City’s £38 million for Aguero?

No, the simple answer is no…

I don’t blame the clubs who demand such fees as all they are doing is merely an attempt to out-price a player in hope that he’ll stay put or to just make sure they can replace him with a cheaper and better one and the only place that kind of player can usually be found is if he’s not English so it kind of defeats the object of the home-grown ruling.

Also, if any player really wants out of his current club, there’s not much point in keeping him is there so why make him almost unsellable? Bad apples spoil a whole bunch and that’s what an unhappy player will be, a bad apple and we know, we’ve had our fair share in the past.

Right now we don’t appear to have any bad apples, yes there are players who might be on the move but my own view is that the club will be the orchestrator of any such moves and not the player. Tomas Rosicky has voiced his concern over playing time but neither he or his agent have been talking to the press about leaving, same with Theo Walcott over his contract as all he’s done is talk about the future with Arsenal and how everything is positive and rosy so unless the club want either to go this summer, I strongly suspect they’ll both be lining up for us next season.

Jack Wilshere is another English player being sought after by Man City and probably just because he’s home-grown. Would they really want to sign him if he wasn’t English and for £40 million? Somehow I don’t think so but having lost a few English players of late, they really are struggling to maintain their English/home-grown quota. Mourinho is possibly in a similar situation as why else would he have made his comments when discussing the Petr Cech story.

And why else would he be considering Alex Song, if he is of course….

Talking of Jack Wilshere, apparently he’s set to be offered a new contract, one which would see his salary increase to £100, 000 a week. Double what he’s on right now and if true, I suspect that’s all about keeping him out of City’s hands… Not bad eh..

Nor is getting £4 million given to you for departing a club. That’s what Peter Cech is to be given when he leaves Chelsea according to reports in the newspapers.

Carl Jenkinson is set for a new Arsenal deal according to reports. He’s probably heading off out on loan for another season but at least his Arsenal future will be secured.

It looks like Geoffrey Kondogbia is heading to Italy with Inter Milan after they made a bid of £20 million which was a lot higher than our reported £9 million offer. Sky Sports suggest he’s set for a medical tomorrow. If true, that’s a great shame, just hope Wenger has someone in his position lined up this summer.

According to German paper Bild, that player is Sven Bender and Arsenal have made contact with Dortmund about signing him. Apparently new boss Thomas Tuchel keen to get his £2.2 million a season off the wage bill.

Charlie Austin, English, 25 years old, can score goals in fact 18 in the league last season for Qpr so just imagine how many he’d score in a side like ours. He’s leaving Qpr and wants to stay in London. Could he solve our so called striker needs?

Finally, congratulations to Laurent Koscielny and Claire Beaudouin who yesterday sealed their own deal together..

Sweet...
Sweet…

That’s Sunday done, hopefully the sun will find it’s way out from behind the clouds shortly and you all have a great day….

you have no idea of economics. A players worth is merely as seen by the club privately owned board. Should ban private ownership

    Morning Rico.
    I’m up………..just! Bit of a late night.

Lots to speculate in the post. Who is? Who isn’t! Who won’t be! And who might be? Not got a clue myself. Happy to be patient.
Be back later if anything stirs my fingers!

  3. Hell Raising Devil says:

    grrrrrrrr. 2nd only to aBmp.

    Good Morning Lovlies and Hunkies.

    Nice post boss.

Yeah Rico you have no idea of economics. You should have stated that Jack should be sold if an offer in the region of 80 mill comes along. I would applaud that.

And yes…..i would get Charlie Austin. He can rest Ollie and also lead the line himself. and he is English

    Happy FATHER’s DAY daddies.

  4. rogerbij says:

Nice post Rico, you got me wondering about this homegrown guff – do other leagues also have homegrown rules or do they not need them? (A quick google didnt find anything).

And related to this, why do so few English players go to other leagues (relatively speaking). Especially young players. Is it a cultural/home comforts thing? A language thing? A wages thing? Other?

I would think if young players are having trouble breaking in to the big time in England then there are plenty of other good leagues around Europe to give it a shot too. Thoughts?

    Happy sundays

    Morning Wavy, Devil and all…

Yes, happy fathers day to all the dads out there…

Sadly mine is no longer with us…. 🙁

  6. Kevin Roy Canino says:

Arsenal already have 3 very good goalkeepers why we wasting 14.000.000 on Peter Cech he has had very little playing time with Chelsea I like David Ospina and Wojciech Tomasz Szczęsny and the young Damián Emiliano Martínez I hope if we get him Peter Cech proves me wrong

  7. rico says:

Morning Roger, thanks. I’m not sure re the other leagues/countries. Seems to me it’s just all an attempt to make the England team better but I can’t see how it does. If players are good enough, they’ll naturally rise to the top…

  8. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico – That headline almost gave me a coronary. Please leave the hyperbolic headlines to the commercial gutter media.

As for Song, they are welcome to him, but not for a song. If Chelski and the malevolent midget are truly interested, I hope FC Farcelona make them pay through the nose and squeal like the swine they are.

Off to read the other comments.

  9. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Alan the Arsehole mp…..there’s a blast lol.
Maybe Chelski and Cteh should start producing players instead of buying them all and they’d have some homegrown talent on the books.

  10. Hell Raising Devil says:

imo I would take it. not for the reason of two Ozils. But 80mill (if reinvested well) are more secure than someone who might be injured any moment.

80 mill plus that obtained from Podolski, Campbell, Sanogo and other fringe players would get us Cech, another defender, a DM and maybe a star winger and still leave ample change.

honestly I would never pay that amount of money for Pogba, Benzema etc.

Only for Messi, Ronaldo and Bale would I offer silly money.

Sterling for 40mill??? dont make me larf. Imo he is not worth more than 12mill at the most.

No player who is playing in England atm (outside our players and a couple of Chavs) is worth more than 25mill at the most. Especially English ones whose technical level is still below those elsewhere.

And no aBastardMP….its not what a player is worth to his club at the end of the day. its the contract he has…..sterling is now touted to be 50mill simply because he has two years and is English. in a year’s time he will not be worth more than 10mill. and since he is a bad apple what the dippers are claiming is all bull shit simply because there is more than one club. if the others pulled out and he is hell bent on upsetting the apple cart than he will not fetch more than 10-15mill.

  11. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – That’s just it, Chelski and Citeh have had some promising young English players on their books, but they have rarely, if ever, played them. Most seem to leave when their initial contracts expire, having played little and seen their development stalled at that critical time of their early to mid twenties.

The strange thing is, they still seem to be able to attract these players. Surely they must see that they are there just to make up the numbers for the English/homegrown quota.

  12. goonster says:

Don’t you just love wrighty 😀 what a legend. Morning HH. Lovely morning to be alive. Happy father’s day to all. Brianna just gave me a cookie as a present. That little she devil. Lol.

  13. goonster says:

Lol Alan bastard….his name says it all. What a cnut 😀 ignore him rico. Don’t feed the trolls remember?

  14. Hell Raising Devil says:

Happy Father’s day Cookie boy. and make sure you enjoy it mate.

I do remember aBASTARDmp from days gone by. as you said, his name says it all. he has a right to his opinion, but should take care not to ram it down people’s throats.

  15. goonster says:

Spot on CG re chelshit home grown players. Whatever happened to a certain josh mcechran(spelling ) he was seen as the next best thing alongside our own jack. He just disappeared. Blimey. Lovely player though. Nifty skillful and a good passer. I always knew he won’t cut it at Chelshit. Poor fella.

  16. goonster says:

Happy father’s day dev what plans do have for the old man??? And the little prince?? Is he still giving you grief 😀

  17. Canadian Gooner says:

Stan – There were a number of players like Sinclair at Citeh who showed promise, but had their careers stalled. Most rarely even made the subs bench, for less making it onto the field. Yet, there are still young English players who have their heads turned when those clubs dangle enough money under their noses. Shame.,

  18. goonster says:

CG Sinclair was an odd one. He should never had gone to shitty. Hey wasn’t he a chelshit lad??

  19. Micko says:

CG, Jack Rodwell, very promsing young player with the world at his feet, Citeh gobbled him up and spat him out again, who was looking out for him.

  20. Hell Raising Devil says:

CG….good point. those English players who have their heads turned when enough money is dangled only point straight to my point……a good chunk of English players are dim wits. not enough common sense in the grey matter between their ears. And add that to bad coaching and there you have a dumbskull.

  21. goonster says:

Micko I rated rodwell still do. He could have been as good as our own Romford pele. Such a shame.

  22. Hell Raising Devil says:

I would take Rodwell in a heart beat. Then loan him out again for a season at WHU or Sunderland. to get him ticking and raise his self confidence. Then get him back.

I also like Berahino as well.

Rico mentioned Austin. Would you take him???

  23. goonster says:

Austin is big strong and a traditional number 9 but can he do a better job than OG?? I don’t think so. We can’t have 2 similar players in the same role. That’s why signing theo on for another 5 years is essential. He’s coming into his own. He ll be deadly next season. 30 goals??? Pah more like 40 😀 he’s got to stay injury free though.

  24. Dublingunner says:

Afternoon, Great post as usual, Rico. You have to tip your hat to Wenger, I know a lot of things he has done over the past few years have angered and frustrated us, but one thing amongst others , he did get right is the home grown policy, to which we are the envy of all clubs, while the cash rich clubs were buying all the overpriced foreign players, Wenger was planning ahead and playing by the book, Hell, Why should we start selling our home grown players to these clubs, let them go through what we had to go through, Having to bring in players, be patient, nurture and develop these players, f##ks me off, the way these clubs now think, because they need home grown players they can just open the cheque book, as we all know any player who leaves Arsenal, their careers just go into nose dive, Wenger must not entertain any of these idiots, anymore. We have done things the right way, and have the nucleus of a fantastic team, with fantastic home grown players who I believe are on the cusp of something special, and Wenger has to be commended on it.

  25. goonster says:

Good post CG but would any of those said players wanna sit on the bench?? I won’t change the dynamics of this team now neither ll wenger. We have a good team spirit. The lads have come to fight for each other. A 25 million bench warmer won’t do our bank accounts any good. Lecoq has been the revelation of the season. A beacon of hope to the other lads in the under 20s. Bringing in another player just to bench coquelin won’t sit well with the fan base let alone the players. Besides it’s just his first full season. Watch out for this lad next season. He ll there with the best in the world. Coquelin the beast 😀 what a player.

  26. allezkev says:

Good post Rico and Good Afternoon…

    Afternoon All…

Yeah, give me a pair of Benders any day…

    What about you Lee?

  27. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – It is sad that these young players can’t read/see the writing on the wall. It is great to have self-confidence, but so many seem to be delusional like Niklas Bendtner. The number of young players that disappear into the sinkholes of Chelski and Citeh is criminal, but you can’t legislate for greed and stupidity. They all must think they will be the exception to the rule.

To see all of this, you only have to watch the Raheem Sterling saga. If the Dippers can screw 50 million quid out of Citeh for Sterling, more power to them. It is a big risk for Citeh if Sterling can’t deliver on the promise he has shown intermittently. Over the years I’m sure you have seen many of these next great English hopes crash and burn, just fizzle out or fade into obscurity [David Bentley, Cadimerteri (spelling?), Francis Jeffers, etc.].

  28. Hell Raising Devil says:

reason this out with regards the home-grown quota.

Imagine for a miute that Ospina would have been homegrown. Who would have been allowed to leave??? Ospina or Ches??

Imagine for a minute that Fabianski did not leave. He stayed and was our keeper this season. And while he was solid he was not spectacular and safe like Cech.

now Cech comes in. We all know that Flappy proved to be superior to Ches. however Ches was homegrown while Flappy was not. Who would have made way??? yep you guessed it…Flappy. Why??? he was not homegrown.

now let us imagine that Flappy was homegrown. And the same goes to Ches. Cech comes in. and who would have made may now??? Flappy or Ches?? Imo it would have been Ches.

Therefore I think that Ches was only kept because he was homegrown. If Macy or Huddart make any giant leaps next two seasons I can assure you that eventually one of them will be 2nd keeper to Cech and not Ches or Damien Martinez.

Ches will not stay long after Ospina. imo he will not stay more than the next two seasons, maybe only next season. I doubt that anyone will dislodge Cech in the next three years. I might be mistaken but in four years time Ches will be at another club while maybe Martinez will stay with MAcy/Huddart a strong number 2. Time will tell.

  29. Canadian Gooner says:

Stan – I think Le Coq is great. I don’t want to replace him, but I do think we should have a back-up and competition for him. With all the league, League Cup, FA Cup and UCL games we hopefully will be playing we need that in all positions. If Le Coq gets injured, do you want to depend on Flamoney to cover for him? I know I certainly don’t.

  30. tsgh says:

    Good point Kevin re. Cech..

malaga stop all this bender hype. 😉
Sven has had 2 poor seasons…; one can blame injuries and the return of Gundogan but still…

  31. rico says:

    Afternoon Cg, Kev and all…

    Thanks re the post guys..

Cg, I couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to give you a little fright….

Dublin, thanks and good comment, credit where it’s due eh…

  32. goonster says:

CG I get u brother just saying buying a 25 million bench warmer don’t make no business sense. Maybe we could get someone cheaper that won’t mind sitting on the bench. Lucas biglia comes to mind. Tenacious and can run around for 90 minutes non stop. He asks scores the odd goal here and there. I ll take him besides seems like king kong is on his way to Milan and shniedrlin is Manchester bound 😀

  33. tsgh says:

Dev-I will sell JW for £50m; even though i think we should try to keep him at all cost…

JW is talented but a midfielder who is tactically naive after playing over 150 games at his age will not become consistently great imho…

£50m will buy Stone and Barkley who imo are far superior…

  34. goonster says:

Omg now I be heard everything. Ts what are drinking this morning my man. Sell jack? Did you watch his game against Slovenia? Am sorry bro but I totally disagree. His naivety stems from incessant niggling injuries. Jack Is class. I ll take Liam brady’s word over tours ts .lol . He ll be a star in the next few seasons. Get ready to eat some agag size humble pies. I ll gladly ram them down your throat 😀

  35. Dublingunner says:

Cover for Le Coq is essential imo, Its a long and tough season. I think also a strong bench filters down to the players and gives confidence throughout the team and players know they have to up their game, which can only be good for the team. Enjoy your sunday all, Im off out to participate in the consumption of a few alcohol beverages, happy fathers day.

  36. goonster says:

Perfect age ts a 30 year old back up plan. He had an incredible season ginge. The Rome derby comes to mind. He was everywhere like puppy on steroids 😀 sign him up arsene 😀

  37. tsgh says:

ha ha ha Goonie. Slovenia is no yard stick to compare England’s quality to imho…
Brady is a legend but he also said Vidal is an attacking player…
You watch a lot of continental football; apart from English media who also rates JW?

  38. goonster says:

Ts you can only beat what’s in front of you. In that same game sterling was shite. And I know you rate sterling 😀 look bro I ve lost diaby I won’t lose wilshere. He’s gotta to make it at arsenal. He didn’t catch pep’s eye by being shit. Come on ts.

  39. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – Re:”…Cg, I couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to give you a little fright….”

I have made a note next to your name in my little black book of misdemeanors. I am beginning to have my doubts about your ‘innocent country lass’ credentials.

  40. goonster says:

Plus you don’t go from class to shit 😀 wilshere is no denilson. Trust me he’s not. He could be our very own Iniesta. I have huge faith in that kid. Him and rambo 5 years ago??? Come on man no chance. Everyone chose jack the lad. Plus he’s really one of our own. Go wash your mouth out with soap ts. Lol. And stop hating on our players 😀

  41. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – You may or may not be right about Le Coq. Personally, I think you are in error. However, I am sure we have all seen our share of one season/tournament wonders (John Jensen comes to mind). Either way, it isn’t wise to tempt fate or injury by not having a viable alternate for the CDM position.

We can reconvene the inquest on the CDM position in twelve months time. If I am wrong, it certainly wont be for the first time, nor the last time. We can wager a pint on the matter, if you wish.

  42. Lee says:

Someone mention a Bender or two?
    Kev must be lurking somewhere…..
Sell Jack for £80m I’d do that in a heartbeat!

  43. Canadian Gooner says:

Malaga – Most of us like the occasional good bender. Some of just aren’t sure about the price or the quality of either of The Benders Bros.

  44. rogerbij says:

Great video of Le Coq Goonster, really great. Inspiring even. I saw skill on the ball that maybe happened too fast for me to appreciate in some of the games. And tenacious in defence!
Anyway, I think we can all agree that he cant play 50 games in a season without risk of injury and we need 2 TOP players in all positions, so there is space for that DM to compete with him and improve him too.

I dont think we need to worry about Jack. I really doubt Wenger will sell him even for 50m as you cant easily buy his qualities in a home grown player. And noone will offer 80m. THe nice thing about debating the hypotheticals is that I feel completely comfortable these days that other clubs cannot snatch our best players anymore, unless they offer mad stupid money. Wenger and the club have worked us back into a position of long-term strength and more importantly everyone is happy. Im not even worried that Walcott wont sign a new contract!

  45. Hell Raising Devil says:

i am a bit with CG on Le Coq mates. Let’s see in 12 months time. I have faith he is not a one season wonder, but i can be mistaken as well. I hope he is the real deal and that he is not found out. As long as he stays humble and works for the team I have no doubt that he will be better next year having rested in the summer and also had a good pre-season under his belt.

    we wait and see

  46. Tai says:

    Morning all…

    Great post Rico.

I rate Coquelin highly too. In fact, imo he is exactly at same level with Flamini in 2008…when Wenger had to push on Gilberto to Turkey just for Flamini…only for Flamini to dump Arsenal for AC Milan…and ended his international career!

However, our team will seriously drop if Le Coq copes any long-term injury…we need a step-up… And I’m of the opinion that the step-up and Coq should pair in tough away grounds…

  47. Canadian Gooner says:

Lee – Kev is the designated driver just to ensure everyone makes it home safely, but not necessarily in one piece.

  48. rico says:

Comparing Coquelin with Flamini is all wrong imo, they are gulfs apart…

You’d sell him for less wouldn’t you Lee? 😉

  49. Tai says:

    And selling Wilshere?

Then why do we blame Wenger? Who used to sell whenever the money was right…

Give JW just one full free-injury season and see how good he is…even though I believe he shouldn’t be starting with Ramsey in same line-up. But take nothing away from Jack…he’s a great footballer. He doesn’t need any more development to blossom…all he needs is to be free of injuries…and that he certainly will be if he learns to play smart by watching some Messi tapes – evade the tackles, don’t fly into them!

  50. rico says:

Roger – and even AW has said we don’t need to sell these days so City and whoever else can take a run and jump….

  51. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – If you have a calendar function within your website, please make a note regarding Le Coq and the CDM position for twelve months hence.

That’s it for me folks. Have a great day everyone.

I’ve got to get some sleep. I’m of to my younger son’s for dinner and to watch the Canadian ladies in the WWC quarter finals match vs. Goonie’s Netherland’s ladies, I believe.

    Keep The Faith!

  52. allezkev says:

I’ve got a hunch that Jack Wilshere, with the help of Shad, could develop into a marquee player for Arsenal over the next fee years…

I think that there is absolutely no chance of Wenger selling Jack or any of his English/Welsh players, unless Real Madrid come in with a typically stupid Real Madrid level bid, say £50 million for Gibbs for example…

Wenger won’t sell any of his English players to another EPL rival…

So that doesn’t include the Scum.

  53. Tai says:

Le Coq…a one-season wonder? Not possible…he took real time under Wenger to get where he is…he will grow from season to season like Song did.

  54. goonster says:

Kev 😀 50 million quid for gibbo? ?? Hahahahahahahah I want some of what you re drinking AK 😀 oh lord you guys ll be the death of me.

  55. goonster says:

Tai 5 years ago wilshere was among the best young players in the world. Even baloteli had to bait him then. That barca match at the emirates was a bench mark of what’s to come. Unfortunately folks tend to forget. In his first emirates cup the season he broke into the first team. He was awesome. I almost shite myself when his volley came back off the bar against Celtics. That kid is going to rip it soon and I for one can’t wait. Come on you gunners 😀

  56. Tai says:

    All the way, goonster…

I’ve always dreamed that if Arsenal ever wanted to play like Barca…that the only Messi we have, poor imitation though, is JW…pace, skill, trickery .. but not quite as smart…

  57. rogerbij says:

Yeah Rico, and Wenger saw then (although he knew it already Im sure) that selling you best players to a rival bites you twice on the ass: your loss * their gain.
Which is why Mourino is understandably loathe to sell us Cech!

  58. goonster says:

Tai a couple of seasons under his belt and he may be close to Iniesta but messi is a tall order. Jack has it in him. I believe in that kid.

  59. tsgh says:

Unpopular comment- but I recall JW having run of games previously and the more he played the more we saw how limit he is as a TEAM player. Most times he clogged onto the ball and then got injured afterwards.

He is great as someone who can come on and change things with his enthusiasm but imho, those type of players are of yester-years. Hagi etc. come to mind. Even Messi or Gotze do not try to take on the whole pitch…

I know most fans may not like Gerrard on here but as good as JW is , JW can’t lace Stevie’s boots or even lampards…

  60. rico says:

Ts, if everyone stays fit and we sign another central midfielder, I honestly don’t think Jack will be the first player on the team sheet…

  61. goonster says:

Dev he reminds me of a younger paddy v. Just needs to bulk up a little bit and we have a hell of a player on our hands. My God the kid is incredible 😀

  62. rico says:

    Have fun Mg..

Roger, agree there, hope all the stuff about Roman granting Cech the freedom to choose his club is true because if it was down to Jose, there’s not a chance in hell we’d sign him…

  63. allezkev says:

Rico, my view is in the minority, but I still see him as an attacking midfielder, always have, always will…

  64. rogerbij says:

Rico, I think Jacks position is obviously somewhere in the middle of the park, probably slightly deeper lying… but thats a secondary point I think to how does Jack fit in with the BALANCE of the team. And that will depend on who the opponents are on the day, and how Wenger sets us up. I can see JW playing a different role depending on whether its Norwich or Chelsea we play, or in some cases he may not be the best man for the day (again depending on injuries). So Jack needs to keep developing his game for a few different setup options, and I think he should really look to Santi as to how to develop those different strings to his bow. That would really benefit Arsenal.

  65. rogerbij says:

Devil personally I think there is next to no chance (I hope) of Krystian Bielik being near the PL first team next year (although he could get the odd cup run). Thats not because he is not a talent, but because in his position physical development really matters. And he is not there yet. He would get eaten. So he should keep developing his game and I hope that when he turns 20 he is first team quality 🙂

  66. tsgh says:

lol… Rico. I bet JW gave AW that t-shirt. 😉

On a serious note, I think AW really likes JW. Aw likes left footers in CM; he always has. Like AW liked Randall when most could not understand.

I am not saying JW is like Randall but AW has his favourites and when he does he is loyal to them…

JW is a quality player; the question in my view should be, if the hype surrounding him is too much for him to acheive it all at Arsenal or in London.

If JW too big to sit on the bench when he is fit? Is JW the type of player who can maintain his fitness if he played 25 games a season?
Goonie- do you recall your comments about Tello and Affelay 3 or so seasons ago

  67. goonster says:

To get Jacks best position exactly where he played against Slovenia I know folks ll say it’s only Slovenia(am looking at u ginge 😀 ) but he did boss the mid field especially when lalana came on. Unfortunately he can’t play that role for arsenal right now. Santi has been imperious. So he ll have to make do with few appearances next season then take over a few years later.

  68. tsgh says:

Goonie. If we played Bournemouth and won 3-2 you will say we are shocking…

I agree JW was quality… no one will say JW is not quality; but its all relative.

    Slovenia could have beat us/England if there had any quality imho;

I agree with Kev that JW’s position will be further up based on his limitations; On the other hand being the person who use to say JW could not be a no.10 because he could not control the ball with his back to opposition goal even before Aw said that I think Roger’s comment on playing JW in a position depending on opposition is the way forward.

  69. tsgh says:

You rated Tello so highly; where is he now and how many games is he playing…

Players who aim to take on as many players as they can in modern football turn out to be Babel…

Only Aw would be as good as he has been to JW imho…

Mourinho got shot of Robben for same reasons…

  70. rico says:

Roger, I think he likes to be further up the pitch to create and score goals but yes, depending on who we face is key to where he plays. I just never understand why he’s put on the right, or even the left for that matter and I certainly don’t see him as being able to cover the kind of ground Cazorla has this last season…

  71. rico says:

Ts, ‘AW likes left footers in midfield’…

You sure? How many have we had under AW who have been primarily left footed?

    Jack, Edu….. and….. 😉

  72. Micko says:

Me too re Jack, the driving force in our midfield, an attacking midfielder, if he carries on like he left off against West Brom he could have a blinder next season given the opportunity, add to that he let a world wide audience know what we really think of Tottenham, top man !

  73. Micko says:

The difference between Santi this season and last season……..he’s learnt how to tackle ! The other parts of his game are a joy to watch.

  74. rogerbij says:

Rico good point but dont forget Santi cannot play 50+ games in a season and we should count on injuries. There will be plenty of opportunities for Jack to play 30 games next season, even if he isnt always the first name on the teamsheet.

  75. rogerbij says:

Same thing Rico, someone is always injured, whether its Ramsey or Santi or someone else. Wilshere is quality to be rotated with quality. We are always complaining about injuries at the club, and Wenger is slowly developing the luxury of being able to keep players fresh and keep injuries down. If I was JW I wouldnt be worried, its about keeping everyone on their toes, competing for places and having quality in depth. They will all be important players for the club at different stages of next season.

  76. goonster says:

Adam 😀 hahahahahahah I was so waiting and hoping you ll show up. God sparks ll fly. Thank your stars Alan bastard ya cnut 😀

  77. goonster says:

Rico I think it’s time you let gunnerdna off the hook maam. I miss that dude. Plus he’s the only HHer within a thousand mile 😀

  78. rico says:

Roger, but we have Shad, no injuries next season…. Lol

Seriously, I agree with what you are saying, we need depth and in midfield we have just that, apart from in the defensive position…..

  79. rico says:

That’s spooky Goonie, as I was sticking that Alan numptie back in spam, I saw Gdna was in there. He’s never tried to come back but if he does, he may have to eat some humble pie… Lol

He was good fun until he ripped into agag…..

  80. Adam says:

Hi Rico and Stan.. I spotted him Rico. I remembered him from before as he goose-stepped his way through HH.
    What a guy :).

  81. goonster says:

I know I saw that and I apologize on his behalf. It was a heated argument. Am sure agag have forgiven and forgotten it. Let’s get him back on rico. Pretty please *doing brianna’s puppy eyes * lol

  82. goonster says:

Plus if all agree with each other all the time we ll be what Gambon said we are a bunch of smiley spastics 😀 God HH has had its fair share of nutters. Hahahahah.

  83. Adam says:

Gdna came on strong at first then seemed to find his feet and I quite liked him as he became less aggressive. I don’t know why he kicked off at Agag. She’s one of us and we tend to protect our own. I always thought that being a Gooner was rather like being a Mason. When I first met Kev he was standing on one leg with his trouser rolled up as he gave me an odd handshake.

  84. goonster says:

Is that a fact jm? Hey jm what’s the news on cavalho back in Portugal? Do you have any new information?

  85. goonster says:

Hahahahahahaj adam you re so craxy. AK did what? Hahahahahahah omg. I love it here. Am so gonna choke on my oatmeal 😀

  86. goonster says:

Gee rico you could atleast swear from time to time. I won’t judge you. It’s therapeutic 😀 cut loose and just let a few fly. Come on maam 😀

  87. rico says:

There’s only one swear word banned here Goonie. I do swear, trust me but not just for the sake of doing so… That’s just me… You all feel free to fill your boots… 😉

  88. goonster says:

Nah there’s nothing sexier than a country girl swearing 😀 my god that’s a turn on. Adam can attest to that 😀 right adam? Lol

  89. goonster says:

Gee rico I don’t know any English girl. Met an Irish bird a couple of years back. Was going to nail her but my flight was leaving at that same time 😀 bummer. Am really thinking of going English. Cassie’s gone so I might as well get me hot blonde big bosomed English hotties 😀

  90. goonster says:

Hey rico what are they like? English country girls that is 😀 can you hook me up with one 😀 you know what I like don’t ya? Lol

  91. goonster says:

Am seriously considering it adam. An English girl might actually be what I need right now. Plus if she’s a gooner that ll be the cherry on top. What do you think adam 😀

  92. goonster says:

Come on rico be a pal 😀 you re the one always telling me to move on that cassie is gone. So you owe me an English country girl and I won’t take no for an answer 😀

  93. allezkev says:

I luv Santi, as you know Rico, but he isn’t gonna be there forever…

    Rotation is the answer…

  94. Adam says:

Stan. If you look anywhere near as handsome as I imagine then I believe that English girls would be rendered trance-like at your approach.

  95. Tai says:

Ts, you’ve been really hard on JW.

That lad has far more than you’re giving credit for…as per his best position…ACM…your no 10…but Ozil will push him, Santi, out of the way…

When Wenger fields him from the right, Le Prof is experimenting if he could clone a poor man’s version of Messi!

  96. goonster says:

Ak this guy is a steal for the amount we got him. My God what a player plus he actually plays with a smile on his face. He’s infectious 😀

  97. allezkev says:

Stan with your azure blue eyes, I think you would be an absolute star, especially down Old Compton St.

  98. goonster says:

Lol no kev no Compton for me. Am actually serious right now AK I think my next wife she come from the British Isles. I ve got my eye on Brighton Cornwall or hey maybe Belfast :D. My preference ll be a London girl though. Just narrowing my options if you know what I mean.

  99. goonster says:

Adam i told all who cared to listened that we dodged a bullet there. Never been a PSV fan but from the little I ve seen of him he’s just a more skillful Aaron Lennon. Nothing flashy. You saw him at the world cup didn’t ya? Yeah he rips the eredevise every week so what? Mateja kezman was the hottest striker in Dutch league till chelshit signed him. We know how that turned out. He’s so going to flop and I can’t wait 😀

  100. goonster says:

Pardon my typing guys…the phone and handling brianna is a handful. That’s why I need a wife. Come on rico be a pal 😀

  101. rico says:

Did you ever wonder if her flatulence was down to your cooking Adam?

Goonie, I’ve been think of binning him for a while…. 😉

  102. goonster says:

That’s what he’s going to bring. Experience persona calming influence and most of all a winning mentality 😀 wasn’t really into this dude bit now the deal is all but done am salivating. Note salivating not creaming 😀

  103. goonster says:

Not now maam not this time. He has no say in this. His hands are tied. Oblomovic decides what happens not the short prick 😀 for a change we get to laugh at him.

  104. goonster says:

Has maureen just handed us the trophy? ? I think Sao 😀 let’s start by smashing them a new one at wembley 😀 that ll be a marker for next season. He’s due a whupping.

  105. tsgh says:

Lol.. Rico, re lefties have you forgotten hughes, Randall and Conor Henderson, Merida.
With Santi I only slated him for being too lazy tracking back and a poor no.10. I always said AW should play him as a no.6 as that was where he played at Villareal

  106. tsgh says:

I misss Dna too; he couldn’t handle me defending Og12.

I really want to hear/read his excuse for falcao lack of showing seeing as he thought Falcao would make us champions by just training with us…

  107. rico says:

I haven’t forgotten any you just mentioned Ts, but exactly what did they achieve at Arsenal? I bet they barely played 20 games for the first team combined….

Lol re Santi, you slated him, period….

  108. goonster says:

Rico ts slates every one of our players. It’s his thing. If I didn’t know any better I ll say he does that just to rile us all up. Lol.

  109. goonster says:

Tai I give you my word 😀 *scout’s honor* this is happening. It’s in the final stages right now. Talking about stages rico our boy Hamilton goofed up big time today. The championship point has been reduced to 10. I fear for him now. I so want him to retain his title.

  110. goonster says:

Rico am already planning on feeding him some agag size humble pies 😀 I ll gladly chuck it down his throat 😀 wilshere ll come good just like santi made him shut up a little bit 😀 lol ginge you re going down son.

  111. goonster says:

Gee rico that was a long time ago. Don’t I get my one mistake? Didn’t I call sanchez ozil and even arteta. The only one I didn’t call was santi carzola. Come on maam cut me some slack 😀

  112. tsgh says:

no Rico. I slated Santi just a lil’…

goonie; I thought you had my back… snakes. 😉

Tai, Malaga is the gospel… 😉

  113. Adam says:

Rico. Your 6.51 is scandalous. 🙂
Wasn’t Petit a leftie? Or did someone mention him? He had lovely blond hair. Like a God he was.

  114. goonster says:

Ts you cross the line when you referred to my boy coquelin as “just another flamoney” all bets are off. Let’s do this lol.

  115. Tai says:

I know for sure Wenger loves lefties so much that I started investigating if he ever played in the old-fashioned outside left!

  116. rico says:

Goonie, despite popular belief, I don’t really forget. Lol and no, no pass…. Lol

Adam, maybe, or maybe not… 😉

  117. rico says:

Ts, maybe, but you made it sound like he only loves lefties and to be fair, the players you mentioned to back up your theory were pretty crap… 😉

Adam, yes, Petit was a leftie, perhaps one of the best we’ve had since Wenger. Edu was good too.

  118. Tai says:

If Mourinho wasn’t greedy, he wouldn’t have brought back Courtois yet…Cech was still the better keeper when the Belgium came home to Chelsea…

And Cech will want to prove that this season…and worse, Mourinho knows!

Cech will precisely do a Fabregas in our colours…give everything as the Spaniard just gave to Chelsea.

Is the Portuguese the kind of person to allow that? NEVER! Unless Cech hands in a request and insists on Arsenal…Mourinho will talk Abramovich out of the deal.

Don’t get to the pubs yet, goonster. Mourinho is not your kind of fella who ignores such details…he’ll stop the deal!

  119. goonster says:

Hahahahaj rico that was a good a come back 😀 5 second clip huh? Hahahahahahah you guys 😀

  120. rico says:

Right you lovely folk, I’m off. Had about 2 hours sleep last night so I’m off to catch up…

It’s been a good day here on HH, thanks guys…

    Chat tomorrow- night all….

  121. scottfromoz says:

Oh DNA, the guy who said he’d shoot me if we met.
Yeah, real quality man that one lol.
    Morning all.
It’s nice we are talking about how much money it’d take before we sold certain players rather than who many players we need to get rid of.
Stands the club in very good stead as it proves we have very good depth.

  122. scottfromoz says:

It’s all flooding back to me now.
The same DNA that said he hoped Wenger contracted cancer, went to sleep and never woke up.
I vote to let that guy back in, certainly.

  123. Wavy says:

Sky reporting we have agreed personal terms with Cech and Abromovitch has sanctioned the move. However, Arsenal have reiterated that there will be no player exchange involved in the move = stalemate!!
A little bit of Portuguese prick involved! You know just to scupper the deal. Poor old Cech he’s just a pawn in the midgets mind games!

  124. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies and Hunkies.

Here its a beautiful day today. how is the weather up there boss et al???

Wavy you have a point. However, I feel that Cech is more powerful at the Chavs than Ba was. And I feel that at the end of the day Cech’s word is more powerful than Mourinho. Yes HOSE may try to pull the plug, but if Cech insists that he wants to come to AFC that is where he will end. Cech has one year left and Roman knows that at the end of the day Cech’s fee will not be more than 3 million in January and a big fat ZILCH in June. So in this situation the PRICK is in the same position as AW was with RVP in his final year. Take it or leave it. He knows that AW cannot be hung out and played with in this situation. So his mouth is shut and he is talking from his arse about player exchange. Not that there is much difference between his mouth and arse, both spout putrid and decaying excrement of the highest order.

with regards to the English players Rico, I feel that the generation between 2013 and from now on will be much more technical and athletic than the ones who are on offer now. The amount of good players we have at AFC for example will only benefit the young English ones. If their head is rightly upon their shoulders than its more easier for them to model themselves on players like Ozil, CAzorla, Bellerin etc. The mentality will slowly change and even without AW in 2020 I feel that we will have more skillful Englishman in our team than the chavs, shitty, manure and the dippers. That is why I feel that AW should go for Joe Gomez who is still 18. I feel that by 2020 AFC will surely have 2 or 3 more players who form the English core at the club.

  125. Hell Raising Devil says:

I know Rico. I should have said that AW should have gone for Gomez. but I still feel that if AW wants to look at the lower division he will surely find at least 3 or 4 skillful players. He found Kos from Ligue 2 for heaven’s sake. And he was not a teen was he.

  126. Lee says:

Best footage of Gervinho, was when the useless turd was boarding a plane to sign for Roma!
Brudder that explains that funny handshake Kev does…..
Jackson Martinez is he a soul singer?

  127. Hell Raising Devil says:

but why only France Rico??? Sanogo???? dont tell me that there is not at least one young English player who is better than Sanogo??? Is Matt Lecointe of Plymouth worse than Sanogo??? I highly doubt that. And why keep Sanogo and release Afobe?? An Crewe have a couple of youngsters who are technically good.

  128. rico says:

I doubt it is just France Devil, but whoever/wherever the club are looking, they have clearly not seen a player who would suit Arsenal. Or they are simply not up to standard.

    Morning Adam.

  129. tsgh says:

    Morning Rico and all…

Scott, I my intention was to shoot you when I met you but I think you put something in my drink and so I forgot. 🙂

Its funny listening to the media this morning falling over themselves because Yanited had apparently asked for Ramos as part of the De Gea deal… 🙂

How the might have fallen; who would have thought Yanited being linked to any player would get folks so hyped up.

I see Sperds, Levi and his director of football Baldini are not getting bashed by the media for making a £15m lose on Soldano and other signings Levi made 2 summers ago. If it were Aw they would be slating us for wasting £100m on a bunch of _ _ __

  130. Lee says:

DNA, was a thick keyboard gangster who challenged our shy retiring Aussie to a cyber dust up! Have a light beer and watch a game with four quarters in it you dickhead! #no offence!
